Ovens played a fascinating mixture of power pop, punk, metal, and emo that was equally influenced by Black Sabbath and the Beatles. Their short songs were packed with melody and hooks, and were just as likely to finish with a classical guitar flourish as a peal of feedback. Led by guitarist/vocalist Tony Molina, the band were prolific at writing and recording, but only a handful of singles and the 44-song Ovens collection from 2009 were released while they were together.
