As one half of Portland, Oregon's harsh noise mainstay Yellow Swans, Pete Swanson provided sludgy pulsing beats and staticky tape manipulation to counter his partner Gabriel Saloman's feedback-laden guitar onslaught. Yellow Swans operated in a violent landscape of slowed-down screaming dissonance from 2001 until they parted ways in 2008.
