Plastic Mermaids

Isle of Wight five-piece psych-pop band Plastic Mermaids use layers of synths and samples to craft an off-center sound. At first, brothers Jamie and Douglas Richards enlisted guitarist Chris Newham to form an electro punk trio known as Magic Octagon. As their tastes developed, they changed their direction toward softer psychedelia, giving them the impetus to drop Magic Octagon in favor of Plastic Mermaids.
