Prequel Tapes

Marco Freivogel of Berlin-based techno duo Exercise One uses the alias Prequel Tapes to craft haunted, tense electronic soundscapes evoking hazy memories of the early rave scene and industrial culture. He began the project in early 2015 when he came across DAT recordings of his new wave/industrial band from the late '80s/early '90s. He incorporated samples from these tapes into the experimental music he was composing on vintage drum machines and analog synthesizers.
