A former jazz-rock drummer, Roger Doyle has made his greatest impression as a composer of electronic music and musique concrete. The recipient of a programmed music award at the 1997 Bouges International Electro-acoustic Music Competition, Doyle scored his greatest triumph with his magnum opus, Babel, which premiered at the Irish Museum Of Modern Art in 1992. The ninety-three individual pieces that comprise, Babel, took ten years to compose and required input from forty-eight collaborators. A five CD box set of Babel, was released on Doyle's fiftieth birthday in 1999.
