Rubbing Alcohol

Brooklyn's Rubbing Alcohol is the post-punk-inspired solo project of Bear Hands bassist Val Loper. Having previously opened for Passion Pit on tours with his band, Loper enlisted onetime Passion Pit keyboardist/percussionist Ayad Al Adhamy to produce his self-released debut. The resulting Behavior EP arrived in 2013. Loper released a pair of stand-alone singles during a stretch that included two more Bear Hands albums and related touring before returning in 2017 with Rubbing Alcohol's self-produced sophomore EP, Stressful Jazz. ~ Marcy Donelson
