A spirited indie pop dance band with a reggae-pop past and a penchant for worldbeat and ska-infused arrangements that invoke names like Vampire Weekend, Brazilian Girls, Passion Pit, and Dirty Projectors, Brooklyn's Rubblebucket were formed in 2007 by musical couple Alex Toth (trumpet) and Kalmia Traver (vocals, saxophone) after the pair parted ways with East Coast roots reggae futurists John Brown's Body.
