Playing electro-acoustic folk-pop in a style that's at once beautiful and enigmatic, Safe Home came together in the wake of the breakup of shoegazer rockers the Nightblooms. After the group disbanded, vocalist Esther Sprikkelman returned to the Netherlands and intended to leave the music business for good. However, she soon found herself dreaming up ideas for new songs, and so she began collaborating with Nightblooms guitarist Harry Otten, with Sprikkelman writing lyrics and Sprikkelman and Otten sharing credit for the music.
