Slackk

Grime/garage producer Slackk, born Paul Lynch in Liverpool, England, operated Grimetapes -- an Internet archive for radio mixes that documented the distinctly U.K. style's progression. His own work evolved from more straightforward 4/4 rhythms to more jagged, bass-heavy ones, and eventually toward more atmospheric textures. The first Slackk tracks were self-released in 2010, and so was the formal Theme EP, a three-track release that surfaced on Numbers that November.
