Intending to move the needle on Sydney, Australia's hardcore punk scene, the quintet Speed did all that and more, crossing into the national charts with their first two releases and gaining buzz outside of the Antipodes.
Speed is the brainchild of frontman Jem Siow, an Australian native born in 1993 to parents who'd emigrated from Malaysia. As a teen, he found himself drawn to harder-edged music from Linkin Park to Byron Bay metal act Parkway Drive.
