One of the leading bands on the fertile Michigan rock scene of the mid- to late '60s, SRC took a more artful approach to their music than peers such as the MC5 and the Stooges, forging a sound that was dominated by expert musical interplay and occasional classical influences that anticipated the progressive rock movement of the '70s, while still possessing the passion and energy that was the trademark of the Detroit sound.
