Biography

Pianist Steven Vanhauwaert gravitates toward little-known repertory in his performances and recordings. He is also a significant educator. Vanhauwaert was born in Belgium. His parents exposed him to the piano but were not musicians, and he experimented with the instrument on his own before beginning lessons at age eight. Vanhauwaert attended the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, earning bachelor's and master's degrees there and completing his studies in 2004.
