Strange Boutique

Washington, D.C. band Strange Boutique makes ethereal, gothic rock. The group first rose out of D.C.'s hardcore scene in the 1980s, with its original members all playing in more aggressive punk bands before going in a different artistic direction when they formed Strange Boutique in 1987. The band's first phase lasted through the mid-'90s and produced multiple albums of mysterious, moody rock like 1991's The Loved One.
