Weaving hazy guitar pop, Tashaki Miyaki is an indie band formed by vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Paige Stark and guitarist Luke Paquin (Hot Hot Heat), who met in Los Angeles in 2004, several years before officially starting the group. Both part of a social circle of area musicians that includes producer/musicians Jon Brion and Joel Jerome, they played separately on other projects (with Stark often using pseudonyms) before putting together their self-titled Tashaki Miyaki debut EP, issued by U.K. label the Sounds of Sweet Nothing in 2011.
