Tess Roby

A classically trained musician and photographer, Montreal-based artist Tess Roby makes an explorative, pensive brand of indie rock rooted in ambient textures and synthesized sounds. After working with Italians Do It Better on her 2018 debut Beacon, Roby launched her own imprint, SSURROUNDSS, for her 2022 album Ideas of Space. Roby was born in Toronto in 1993 and spent time in the Canadian Children's Opera Company before she began experimenting with guitars, synths, and drum machines from her father's recording studio for her solo work.
