The Cyclist

Named after Natalia Goncharova's painting The Cyclist, Andrew Morrison started making lo-fi electronic music under the Cyclist alias at age 18 in his home city of Derry, in Northern Ireland. Influenced by the warm, dusty VCR head aesthetic of Boards of Canada's Geogaddi and the dance beats of Throbbing Gristle and New Order, he used the limited equipment he had in his bedroom recording studio to make his first album, Bending Brass, which was released on cassette by the West Virginia indie label Crash Symbols.
