Nearly every member of Orange County's the Killing Flame served time in a classic-style hardcore punk unit during the '80s and '90s. Guitarist and bandleader Joe D. Foster was in Uniform Choice, Ignite, No for an Answer, and Speak 714; guitarist Gavin Oglesby was also in No for an Answer; vocalist Joe Nelson was in Triggerman, in addition to serving as a roadie for Quicksand and Civ; the rhythm section, bassist Ed McKirdy and drummer P.T.
