Biography

An R&B vocal group from Clarksdale, Mississippi, USA, the King Pins were essentially a secularized gospel group, and thus their early 60s records display some of the incipient sounds of the soul revolution. Members were three Kelly brothers - Robert, Andrew and Curtis - Charles Lee and Offee Reece. Curtis and Robert were the two leads in the group. They had one hit as the King Pins, ‘It Won't Be This Way Always' (number 13 R&B, number 89 pop), from 1963, and one as the Kelly Brothers, ‘Falling In Love Again' (number 39 R&B), from 1966.
