The Mistreaters

The Mistreaters were a Milwaukee, WI, quartet that brewed up quite a rock & roll stew. It all began in 1999 with the memorable demo Don't Do Drugs and Stay in School, which established the band's white phosphorus punk-fueled garage sound. The recording made its way to the Reston, VA, indie Big Neck, which promptly unchained a Mistreaters 7" upon an unsuspecting world. The screaming, whiskey-soaked full-length Grab Them Cakes appeared in 1999 on the same label, after which the band toured incessantly, and appeared on a few compilations.
