Influenced by the jangle pop of classic Flying Nun and featuring members who each had impressively long CVs, the Australian combo Stroppies began as a lo-fi bedroom project. They released a home-cooked self-titled EP in 2017, then made the jump to a studio while recording their debut album, 2019's Whoosh! Utilizing that opportunity more fully on 2022's Levity, they added more keyboards to the arrangements along with some timely wistfulness and depth.
