The members of Treephort like to describe their sound as "nerdcore" (as opposed to hardcore, metalcore, grindcore, or emocore), which is a way of saying that their melodic but forceful and hard-driving style of punk-pop is quite different from much of the punk-pop that was popular in the late ‘90s and early 2000s.
