Ycare is a French pop singer/songwriter who made his full-length solo debut in 2009 with the album Au Bord du Monde after rising to fame in 2008 as a contestant on the television reality show Nouvelle Star. Born Assane Attié on September 21, 1983, in Dakar, Senegal, he learned to play guitar and harmonica at a young age. He cites influences that include French chanson legends such as Jacques Brel and Serge Gainsbourg as well as contemporary British rock bands such as Radiohead and Muse.
