Led by singer and main songwriter Jeff Innes, Canada's Yukon Blonde emerged from Kelowna, British Columbia in the late 2000s. After releasing a more folk-rock-minded debut EP, Everything in Everyway, in 2009, they shifted toward a heavier reliance on synthesizers and strutting bass grooves. Following 2012's Tiger Talk, they received a Juno nomination for breakthrough group of the year. By the arrival of Yukon Blonde's fifth album, 2020's Vindicator, they had settled into an easygoing, confident mix of dance-rock and synth pop.
