Can I shout out the MLB collection that they have
and I love their hats man, Their hats are where
it's at. Two turntables, a microphone, and those Travis Matthew
hat that's where it's at. Where it's at. So again,
it's great to be here. We have lots to get to.
We're gonna play Last One Standing today. It's our favorite game,
the most heated intense game that we play. Your chance

(01:43):
to win a seeing our steamless deal, Swiggy our water bottle,
So stick around for that. Plus gotta talk a lot
of shador, we'll talk some pranks. We have lots to
get to. A hypothetical, no doubt, there's a really good hypothetical.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Steven A.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Smith is chirping about whooping your kid, So we'll get
to a lot today. Is there a culture change on
one particular team in the NFL, and I think there
might be, But I want to start out by telling
you that Shador Sanders, oh boy, is much like a
peach cobbler.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Oh boy.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Before you get into that, let's build some suspense. How
in the world is Shador Sanders like a peach cobbler?
Rich just gonna tell us Colin cowhert eat your heart
out with this analogy. You think you're the king of analogies.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Well, can we just first say that?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Okay, as a host, how great is it when something
like this happens, because you know you have content.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
For weeks, You're like, oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
But just as a fan, how were you not glued
just to see what happens? I mean it became so
drama filled, such a drama show, as Triple G would say,
such drama show, that the President got involved, people screaming racism,
everyone trying to figure.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Out why how did this happen?

Speaker 2 (02:57):
What a crazy weekend it was revolving around Shadora Sanders.
We had never been so glued for so long to
the NFL Draft.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Best TV ratings ever for Day three of a draft,
no doubt.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
I mean, if it was more than eight people, I'd
say the ratings were beat no doubt by day three,
the fourth and fifth round. The simple fact that you
were sitting around with that on the background, casually listening
when a potential team came on the board picks in, Honey,
I think it might happen.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Get over here.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
I want to say that I did feel for the
Sanders family respectfully, like I can only imagine what it
was like behind closed doors, right the stress and the
drama and just the shock of it all because it
seemed a little unfair or is it well speculate they
got money, fame, talent, and a lot of things going
in their favorite This has a spectator who loves drama.

(03:46):
I fully admit, as unfair as it may have been,
or as stressful as it may have been for the family,
I took great joy in the drama of it all,
just in the drama.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Like I can't believe this is going on.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
As the meme went that you and Danny g we
were all sending over the weekend the Super Bowl doesn't
prove that the NFL is king. Having two hundred and
fifty thousand people stand in a parking lot to hear
thirty two men's names called that proves.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
That the NFL is king.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yeah, that's wild when you really think about it. In
the cold, no less just in the cold, there's no
like event. Yeah, and that's the smaller city that the
NFL has held a draft.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeah, there's no.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Is there a live band that I don't know about,
but there's nothing but people's name.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Did have a house band?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Did they have a house band? But no one's going
there to see the house band. But really it's just
to hear people's names called. Two hundred and fifty thousand
people out there with their ear muffs and freezy freakys
on crazy.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
That's how big NFL is.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Unreal the interest level in something like you said, it's
just the calling of thirty two men's names fanatics, one
hundreds of thousand people. It's amazing, NFL king. So how
is Shanor? Now that I've built the suspense, how is
Shenor say? There's like a peach cobbler? Before I tell you,
let me set up a few things you see people

(05:08):
talking about. Could there be collusion of racism me? You know,
you hit me with the fact right before the show
of the first round of the thirty two men chosen,
how many were African American. Thirty were men of color,
twenty nine were African American.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
So we're talking to white linemen here.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
It is that was the top three draft picks were black,
Six out of ten were black, and again twenty nine
out of the first thirty two were black players. I
made the comment on social media. I did a little
post at Covine on Rich that I think there's.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Something we all not all of us, but.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
The casual non football fan that just love to jump
in on the conversation are forgetting a simple fact about
any draft, teams go after what their needs.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Twenty seven of the thirty two teams there needs talent potential,
but yeah, their needs is private.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
I'd say, yeah, twenty seven, I'd say of the thirty
two teams, And this draft wasn't a quarterback heavy needed draft.
And arguably, as Dan Byer pointed out last week, they
rated all of last year's quarterbacks higher than the batch
this year. So twenty seven of the thirty two teams
arguably had no interest in a quarterback. But Buffalo Bills

(06:24):
they got Josh Allen. They're not picking a quarterback. Up next,
the Eagles not picking a quarterback. You could name twenty
seven ish of the teams that have no interest in
wasting a pick anytime early on on a quarterback. You've
a Bengals, you're picking a quarterback. You just gave Joe
Burrow that money. You could say that about again, I'd
say twenty seven of the thirty two teams, which means

(06:46):
it leaves you one, two, five teams, five teams, and
if you rubbed any of those teams the wrong way,
now you're cut down to maybe two or three teams,
or maybe none at all. I will say this before
we get it going. People were screaming race. A lot
of people were screaming that over the weekend because there
was the sense of well why, But maybe it's as
simple as the interview process. Maybe it's as simple as

(07:09):
he did both the interview process. I don't know why,
and I don't think it was racism, but I one
hundred percent believe something was held against them. Well listen,
I just don't think it was the color of a skin.
I said this to you the other day. I think
there's nothing cooler than someone with confidence. Remember the other
day we talked about the difference between confidence and arrogance

(07:29):
when it comes to dating. Regular people at your job.
It doesn't need to be athletes. And I said, there's
that thin line between confidence and arrogance. There were two
places that these young men hung out while they were
waiting for the draft. One, as you pointed out backstage,
what looked like an Ashley Furniture warehouse, really all dressed
up ready to be called, walking down that sweet long hallway,

(07:51):
putting on their lids hat. And the other option was
at home with their friends and family. Shid Or Sanders
was the one guy that had a special party room
with the word legend on the wall. So that right there,
you could say, is indicative of what this young man
brings to the table. And if you interpret that as
arrogant instead of confident, then he's not your guy. She'll

(08:13):
reppered it as a me type of guy and less
of a team type of guy. We don't know that
to be true. Be Legendary is the family mantra. Legendary
is sort of his thing. He goes by. Look, I
think he rubbed some people the wrong way. I think
people have a hard time believing that, and that's why
he went one forty fourth in the pick. It was

(08:36):
wild to see no one here let's get it straight.
We've said this over and over again, because when you
talk racism and everything else, got to be very clear.
Everybody here grew up idolizing his dad. Huge fan of
his dad. I go as far back as his Yankee days.
I was a fan of his dad. I'm a forty
nine Ers fan. That Dean Sanders was the reason the
forty nine Ers got over the humps, so nobody. I'm

(08:58):
a coach trime fan and against Shadoor. In fact, I
hope he uses this as fuel to the fire and
maybe this is life's way of giving him what he needed,
which is humility. If that was the problem, If that
was the issue, and based on all the reports are
a lot of reports that we're seeing coaches said he
rubbed them the wrong way. I find that much easier

(09:20):
to believe than racism when twenty nine of the thirty
two were black. First round, Ydyg you said you saw
a pretty cool thought about the Raiders, who were one
of those five teams that could potentially have wanted a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
And it's interesting because Dan Byer and I thought that
Jalen Milroe would be a good choice for the Raiders backup,
he winds up going to the Seahawks with the pick
they got for Geno Smith. So that was ironic. But
Charles Robinson, he tweeted this out. He said, Tom Brady
knows Dion well. Brady mentored Shador, of course Brady is
advising the Raiders on the QB spot and this was

(09:59):
during the weekend. We've pasture Door eight times so far,
with six picks and two trade downs. There's zero chance
Brady and the Raiders are wielding a Sanders grudge. Zero
and yet they're passing something. I do again one hundred
percent believe something was held against them. It could be
the media circus that surrounds them, it could be his dad.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
It could be the interview process, which we alluded to already.
But what I started to realize too, as the numbers
went on and on and on, it became more evident
to me that something was going on and that other
teams were probably backing off even more because it became
more and more of a spectacle and even more and
more of a circus on whoever picks.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Them at that point.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Again, the draft in the NFL, a lot of these
guys do end up being part of the team or
getting a fair shot. So with that said, you have
to keep in mind that people are going after their needs.
I saw the Buffalo Bills GM talking about how we
went all defense because that's what they needed.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Teams go after.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Their knee and this is a very lineman heavy draft
because that was the need for the most part. I
think Shador Sanders is like Peach Cobbler. Now, before I
tell you how Dan Byern, did you have any thoughts
while you were watching this go down?

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Yeah, I mean a lot of thoughts on it.

Speaker 5 (11:18):
But the only thing that I was going to weigh
in because you guys mentioned Dion and his role in
your guy's lives. I don't think that this is anything
new in the NFL where at some point, if the
talent doesn't overtake the issues or the distractions, you're not
going to invest. If Dion wasn't as great as he was,

(11:39):
he wouldn't have gone fifth overall in the nineteen eighty
nine draft. But the Atlanta Falcons felt it was worth it,
and sure seemed like it was. And then going on
to the Niners and the Cowboys, Eli Manning the same thing.
Like in terms of if you're the Chargers at that point,
and he's telling you don't draft me, and You're like, well,
nobody's going to tell me what I'm going to do.

(12:00):
Talent wins over. They know that they can then trade
Eli and get a bunch of different stuff. It didn't
match up with Sudor Sanders. And I think that that story,
while it came in a different form or in a
different package that we're used to, has gone on in
the NFL for decades.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
No doubt.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
And what I love about this story is whether people
are saying collusion, racism, this that at whatever your angle is,
or hey, he just wasn't needed or wanted by those teams.
I think the reality is he got drafted by one
of the few teams where I think he will have
a shot to start at some point next year. So
let's say he does get drafted in the third round

(12:36):
by the Bengals or third round or fourth round by
the Eagles, He's never gonna see the field. He actually
ended up in a scenario one of the few where
this young man could actually start next year and win
the job.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
That's the silver lining.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
But on the flip side of that argument, one hundred
and forty fourth pick fifth round is a little more expendable.
But if you could get the opportunity, isn't that what
the draft is all about, getting the opportunity to hit
camp and and pedal the metal win this job? And
should or Sanders, if he has the talent that we
all believe he does in a quarterback room with Joe

(13:10):
Flacco and a couple other young dudes, should do or
Sanders should in his mind be like, I'm gonna win
this job and turn this dilemma into dilemonade. Yeah, and
we're all excited to see it. How is he like
Peach Cobbler? How in the world rich tal Las Tallas?
How is should or Sanders like Peach Cobbler. I always
try to think of a dumb analogy, and I know

(13:31):
you guys get a kick out of my dumb analogy.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
So here goes.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Let's say you're at a party and there's a dessert
table like spot what did you call what he called
dessert table?

Speaker 1 (13:39):
You need some fancy word before.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
A Viennese table at a wedding v Andes look at
this guy, oh with like font yeah, like little like
little treats.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Let's say this little crembrew lets little snack.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Let's say there's cheesecakes Tower. Oh chocolate, what about chocolate Tower?

Speaker 1 (13:58):
We don't mind if I FONDU.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Now there's a peach cobbler at this dessert table. My goodness,
you know what, dannyg you really want a piece of
that peach cobbler. But you know you've noticed no one's
really touching the peach cobbler.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Not a peach guy.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
But you know what, people are going after the cheesecake
and the cremberlet and all all the little treats, all
the cookies are going for. And as time goes by,
you're like, actually, I like cobbler. You know, you know what,
maybe the Browns like cobbler too. But you know what,
when you see that no one else is touching it,
you're confident that I could come I could sit down,
have a cup of coffee, have my cheesecake. I could

(14:35):
come back, and I bet you that peach cobbler is
still gonna be there.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
And I think there came a point.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Now I'll give you the point that for me, when
the Raiders head back to back Picks, I believe ninety
eight and ninety nine.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Yeah, they went line and they went O line O line.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
And then the next day when you're like, all right,
here we go, we're going to start the day too, now, yeah,
and the Steelers and the Saint said everyone, no one's going.
I feel like Cleveland might have said, oh, I think
we want them. But you know what, much like the
peach Cobbler, I could come back later and it's still

(15:12):
gonna be there.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
And it's still gonna be.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
There because if everyone else had a chance to already
get a slice of that peach cobbler, and they're not
going for it, if by the certain point you got
a chance to look and say, all right, I'm gonna
make a pick.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
I pick again.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
And because you know, in the later rounds it's all
mixed up, so a team may have a pick and
then fifteen picks later have another pick. If you do
the math and look in between, all right, well I
know this, they're not going to take Shador. So I'm
gonna fulfill my safety need or my O line need,
and when I get everything I need, then I will

(15:48):
pick up Shador Sanders. And what you're saying is Shaud
or Sanders is like Peach Cobbler, because even the people
that showed interest in peach cobbler made it clear that
they weren't taking any because they were taking cookies.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
So you know it come back, it's gonna be there.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
It could it could wind up being a mistake, though,
What if you waited too long. You go to the
what do you call it spot a Viennese table, and
there's just crumbs left, and then your auntie comes over
to the table and starts raving about how delicious that
peach cobbler was.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
That's the risk that teams took.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
But I think there were a few teams playing almost
almost like dessert table. NFL Draft Roulette essentially was taken.
They're playing the people that even were interested. You're playing
chickens show. They weren't gonna take them. You're playing chicken
at that point. And I think eventually there were teams
that were like, all right, we'll take him if he
drops to this. They were playing a round of how

(16:37):
far could this go? Chicken because they're like, all right, well, guys,
we still need secondary help.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Man, I love Shador. No one else is picking them.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Get that great get that great free safety from LSU,
and then we'll come back and get him later. It
got to the point where it was almost laughable. That
pass past past that you thought he'd still be there.
And I think Cleveland, we look back in five years
when should or Sanders for all we know, he matures
into a great NFL quarterback have awesome, and we say,

(17:07):
my goodness, did Cleveland play this draft right? This peach
Compler is fantastic. I can't believe everyone didn't need it.
That's what we're gonna say.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
What did you do? You you ate Kremberley? Amazing?

Speaker 2 (17:21):
My question is you had some Jackson tart to get it. Oh,
I don't believe now very good?

Speaker 1 (17:28):
And also the uh, don't mind if I fond dou
very good? Yea, I liked it. What then?

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Why did the Browns load up on apple Strudle, you know,
with another quarterback?

Speaker 3 (17:38):
Like?

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Why did they do that?

Speaker 2 (17:39):
Because I think I think plentiful quarterbacks we learned with
Michael Pennock junior last year? What happened Kirk Cousins? Why
would you pick a quarterback? It's a fickle position, my friend.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
It might be as simple as this.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
The Giants start like, maybe it's as simple as darts,
a better fit for that team.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
But why did.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Cleveland go with another quarterback? That's a great question, Sam.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
Now they have five, and I think Rich to his point,
that's the eye test. For those of us who watched
college football were like that QB's not as good as Shadoor.
So there's there's more to this.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
That's why I said, Danny G I don't believe the
color of his skin was the issue. But I one
hundred percent I do believe that something was an issue
and held against it. And I think, again, my guess
and I'm no, uh, you know that's something blowhard on
the radio. That's what's gonna happen. But I'll tell you
my thoughts. I think I'm.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Just a dufas on the radio.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
I think next year, pause your defic in real life,
not just on the radio.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Thank you. Yeah, let's just make it clear, very clear. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
I think next year we're all going to be sitting
around here in the fall me, you spot Danny j Sam,
Dan Bayer, and we're gonna be talking about Dan Buyer
is going to do an update and be like, guys,
this just in Shador is going to be starting Week
three the NFL. Yeah, watch because I think that when
you got five quarterbacks are gonna break for camp We're
going to see it sooner than later, and I think

(18:57):
it's a great story. Just another reason. I was chat
with Covino over the weekend saying, like these stories with
the NFL salivates over.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
I'm curious to see on who does what in terms
of what was the uh, the the Mary date, you
know whatever.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
The Mary kill, Yeah, Mary Kill.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
You got five quarterbacks? Kid, Deshaun Watson's out of the picture,
but I want to marry Joe fla. You're not You're
not carrying four, I know, so you're likely carrying three.
Are you really going to carry three rookies? Are you
gonna trade Kenny Pickett now to another team after acquiring
him if someone needs one, They've got an They got
an interesting situation that we'll you.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Can go eat chicken cutlets with Tommy the Vido because
he's he's trying to figure out the same thing.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
There were national articles this morning trying to stir it
up to DB's points, saying Shador could be cut before
the preseason's over.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Let's go over it.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
So we have we have Joe Flacco, who I think
would be a great mentor and a guy that would
be okay taking the back.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Yeah, you bring him back after not wanting him back
next year. It's almost like, hey, we messed up. Would
like to from what he did two years.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
And veteran leadership, win won a Super Bowl. It seems
like a really good dude and leader. Joe Flacco, You
got Chador. That's it right there, And then give me
the other two.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
Who since hurt Gabriel, Gabriel, Chad and Canny pick Joe Flacco,
Deshaun Watson.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Man that is something else? Huh? I is DeShawn?

Speaker 2 (20:32):
The ownership of Cleveland already said they swung and missed on. Yeah,
Deshaun Watson, So it would be shocking to see him
play again. So cross him off as as they said
in Major League cross him off.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Then yeah, you can just not clear him.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah so DeShawn, So I see you know how I
think godd Man out is in the f Mary Kill scenario.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Who's that Kenny Pickett?

Speaker 2 (20:52):
Yes, see, can call Gabriel, could see Gabriel could shrump
the camp and be like, ooh not what we thought.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
It's between those two. Then Gabriel having.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
A third round pick out of training cap is almost
unheard of.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
So there's this dead cap hit for Deshaun Watson one
hundred and seventy two point three million dollars. Oh, man,
have you ever heard of a dead money cap hit
that size?

Speaker 2 (21:19):
You know, crazier things have happened, because you know, when
mel Kiper's head was about to explode and he kept
talking about like, oh the.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Past, this guy was in this round, Drew Brees in
this round. He made it uncomfortable.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
You know, everyone handled it pretty well, like, hey, Schador
was picked finally, one forty fourth were rooting for him.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Now, yeah, that was a little odd.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Someone something rubbed someone the wrong way, but hey, hey,
we wish him the best. Mel Kiper was still really mad.
He realized that they're not going to cut Deshaun Watson.
They just won't clear him medically. I think that that's
ultimately just they're not going to clear him medically and
take him off of injured reserve, which could be a
Deshaun's going to get his money anyway. But still even

(21:57):
if he's out of the picture, like not cut, you
still have four quarter So what do you do with
the four that you have now?

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Because most keams only have three? Do you just put
Shador on practice squad like that?

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Like it's a it's a it's a tricky one.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Yeah, but if he ends up on practice squad again,
let's be realistic. This is a league of winning, right,
If he ends up on a practice squad, it's probably
because he deserved to be on a practice squad, not
because anyone has something against him. I don't believe that
at this point he's on the team. It's a winning league,
and a league again that drafted twenty nine of the
first thirty two.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
We're African American, and I don't.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Think and you don't think that if you're the Cleveland
Browns organization for viewership and jerseys and fandom, you don't
think if Shador had what it takes, they would. If
we're gonna deal with this media circus, still, let's we
might as well lean into it. And you know, although
it was unfortunate to see because we thought it was
gonna happen sooner and we all waited to see when

(22:53):
he would go. The one thing I will admit was
really wrong was the prank phone call. I thought that
was wrong. Going to talk about that next, plus a
hypothetical and last one standing, we have an action packed
Cavino and Rich show all right. Well, hey, if you
write it a win some real cash during the basketball
playoffs something else that was going down this weekend. I'm
sorry about your Lakers, Danny not. We can go for

That's shipstation dot com Code Sports. I'm Cavino. That is
Rich again. Hope you had a great weekend. Hope you

(24:51):
have a great week. I'm so pumped for this week.
We have a big fiesta weekend coming up, starting off
this Friday. Big fights on Friday. We'll be talking about
it throughout the week. Garcia Haini Tia Fimo. That whole
card from New York is this Friday, and I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Fighting in Times Square.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
I know it's like Cavino and I realize, like I
wonder how much tickets are. I'm like Madison Square Gardens
not showing up. It's not at the garden. It's in
Times Square outdoor ring. Can it be set up right there?
On a side note, right, I've been waiting for these
fights for so long. Three of the four Kings and
that one fortive way class are fighting, right yep. My

(25:26):
daughter hits me today. She's like, Dad, I need you
to take me to something she's doing Friday from six
to nine. I'm like, yeah, right, picture that dad's been
waiting for this fight for months.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
But Dad, I'm the father daughter dance. Yea, No, it's not.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
She just needs me to be her chauffeur. That's the
dad life of a teen. It's like, oh, I have
someone else to do it, like a safe fight to
drop you off. Is that like a safe uber kids
or something? Yeah, but yeah, I don't know, yes, teen
uber or whatever. So that's Rich Davis. I'm Steve Cavino,
Danny G's on the phones at eight seven seven ninety
nine out Fox, Iowa, Samuel and the ones in dB

(26:00):
has your updates in just a few But let's get
to the phone calls. Rich explained how Shador is like
peach cobbler. He's a dessert that you may have wanted
on the on the what he called about the Venetian
of Vienne, like the Vienna, uh, the v and Ee
of dessert at at a wedding or party. But if
you want to peach cobbler and you realize, hey, no

(26:22):
one else has touched it.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
You don't need to grab it right away. It will
be there. It will be there later on.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
And I made the point of I one hundred percent
do believe something was held against the kid.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
I do.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
I just don't know what. I just don't know what
it was. But it's easier to believe that it was
the interview process. It's harder for me to believe racism
is involved when you look at the numbers and you
look at the league when like ninety percent of the
league is African American, Like, what do we talk? Yeah,
But I'm not saying that racism doesn't exist. I'm not
saying any of that. I'm just saying I don't believe
that in this case. But I do believe one hundred

(26:57):
percent that something was held against him because it just
went on and on too long. But we'll take your
phone calls to wrap it up. We have lots to
get to today. We have a great hypothetical to get
to as well. What I thought was ironically headspot.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
I was gonna say, who started this narrative?

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Dude? So many people and big names were leaning into it.
Steven lead into it.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
A lot of people leaned into that. Yeah, and we're
not just making that up.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
And again, maybe your algorithm didn't show you that side
of the argument, but believe me, it existed. I'd say
it was. It was like a sixty forty sort of thing.
Forty percent were screaming racism over the weekend. And again
that's not to say that it doesn't exist. Of course
it does.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
Yeah, no doubt. So let's go to the phones A
seven seven ninety nine on five.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
What I thought was interesting was one of the guys
chosen before shaudor Sanders that everyone's like, oh interesting for
the New Orleans Saints, they chose Shuck right, and he
is what twenty six years old?

Speaker 1 (27:50):
He's been around for a minute. Yeah, he's in his
like midlely twenties. There's fire.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
There's pictures of him as a kid floating around social
media where he played ball as a kid with Cody
Bellinger and he's like brock perties age and they grew
up together. So he's just one of those guys at
injuries and red shirt years and it took it, you know,
that took its tall and he's finally getting his chance. Yeah,
he's twenty five, twenty five, gonna be twenty.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Six this year.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
And interestingly enough, it was Lewis Riddick, a black broadcaster
who is his biggest cheerleader, saying I would have taken
him way before shaud Or So the race thing.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
I hate that argument when it's not when there's no
signs of it to.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Me, go to the phones. Your thoughts, how is shaudor
like Peach Condler? Do you agree? And we're giving away prizes,
so stick around.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Who do we got? That's Big Burt and Georgia Burt.

Speaker 7 (28:38):
Hey, guys, thank you.

Speaker 8 (28:39):
You guys are always great.

Speaker 9 (28:40):
Look forward to always hearing you.

Speaker 7 (28:42):
So here here's the thing.

Speaker 9 (28:43):
This is a win win, win win situation for everybody.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Yeah, it's a win.

Speaker 7 (28:46):
Win for Shadul because this is the anti Lebron James,
Brownie James things. They can't say that there was any
type of nepotism in it. He only has to stay
around for three years before he re ups, since if
he would.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
Have went firs, if anything, Dad worked against him, if
any there.

Speaker 7 (29:01):
Yeah, so, and plus, how when are you going to
get a fourth round draft pick that's gonna already put
Jerseys out the door, Butts in the seat without a.

Speaker 9 (29:09):
Doubt, without a doubt with a fourth rounder, so they
everybody wins. Plus he didn't take that money from anybody else.
So everybody went in the first round is gonna get
their money get paid in play.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
And based on what choud Or Sanders says, he doesn't
need money, guys holding up his rolexes, driving fancy cars like,
Money's not the issue for this young man. He is
not the guy that needs to, you know, get the money. Now,
let's go to Andre in Mississippi. It's up Andre, Yes, sir,
what up?

Speaker 9 (29:38):
Hey?

Speaker 8 (29:39):
You know they'll I got no NFL hard knocks.

Speaker 9 (29:43):
It's gonna be the Cleveland rounds.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
It could be.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
Oh that would be Drama's show to the max. Oh
that is is that a strong possibility? I say, if
they haven't had a team in mind already, Yes, with.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Those five quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
But like Rich said before, the silver lining here and
it does work out for everybody, is that he gets
to start, or he has the solid chance to start.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
Now they could do a new season of Quarterback on
Netflix with just the Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yes, Cleveland, that's true. You know what's interesting?

Speaker 2 (30:12):
You forget it was only a couple of years ago
that my forty nine ers chose simply based on athleticism
and pure what looked to be a skill set, Trey
Lance with the third pick, and at the very end,
the joke was, mister irrelevant, do you mean the guy
that's about to get paid fifty plus million dollars a year?

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Rock Party?

Speaker 2 (30:33):
So quarterbacks are found in all rounds of the draft.
How often do first rounders flop? I think fifth round?
Though the stat was they don't really usually translate. There
was some stat to back that, but back up the
fact that it rarely happens.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Sometimes the sun will shine on your ass. Is that
the phrase?

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Yeah, sure, man, because Rock Party. Look at what it
took Rock Party to start in the NFL. It took
a few things. It took Trey Lance to stink and
get hurt Garoppolo. It took Garoppolo to so to get
back in there and then for him to get hurt.
And you and I were at that game in San
Francisco when they were playing the Dolphins, and when he

(31:14):
got in that game, everyone including me, a Niners fan, was.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Like, who's it Brock who's the guy behind brock Party?
Where was he? What was it?

Speaker 3 (31:22):
Well?

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Do you, mister irrelevant guy? It took Lance stinking.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
And getting hurt and Garoppolo then to also get hurt
for brock Party to get his chance, and now he's
about to make, like I said, fifty plus million dollars
a year. The side story I do want to acknowledge too, though,
before we get to the rest of the phone calls
and the embayer, is the fact that in twenty eighteen
it did resurface. Deon Sanders tweeted out that he'd never

(31:49):
want to go to the Browns or allow his son
to go to the Browns. He'd pull an e Eli
Manning and bounce. So that didn't really age well. But
let's take an update and then get back to your
phone calls. Deep what's up? Man Hey, dann.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Byer, Hey? Rich? Is Mats leading those Nationals right now? Fun?

Speaker 5 (32:05):
Nothing in the sixth inning. It's day baseball, Sorry, Cavino,
just the way it is. Mets up three. Nothing but
not the only news out of DC today, Guys. The
Washington Commanders finalize their deal with the District of Columbia
to build a new stadium on the side of their
old stadium, RFK Stadium. The new facility, which the Commanders
will put two point seven billion dollars towards, could open

(32:27):
as soon as twenty thirty. It'll feature a glass roof,
which would allow the facility to host Super Bowls and
Final Fours.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
About one point one five billion dollars in public funds
also going towards the stadium, along with the two point
seven billion put forth by the Commanders. But the Commander
is getting a new home.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
That's a big deal. To be in the Super Bowl
city mix. Yes, that's a big deal.

Speaker 5 (32:48):
At least to get one the Final Four again is another.
You can have a lot more flexibility when you have
that roof on a facility, but sometimes it's not practical
and other times it just costs too much. Such a
great Yes, it is traffic like no other.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Well yeah, but but it is a great time.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
Other news speaking in Cleveland, Cleveland not commisating the Browns
are not likely to pick up the fifth year option
on quarterback Kenny Pickett's contract.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
The big news of the day was in the NBA.

Speaker 5 (33:16):
Dammian Lillard of the Bucks suffered a torn left achilles
tendon and last night's Game four loss to the Pacers
out for the rest of the postseason. Next year could
be in jeopardy as well because of the severity of
the injury. Jimmy Butler's officially listed as questionable tonight for
the Warriors as they faced the Rockets at ten Eastern.
ESPN says that Butler is going to play tonight despite
that him contusion. Warriors are up to one in the

(33:37):
first game of the night is Game four in Miami, heat,
home of the Cavaliers, as the Cavs try to sweep
this series. Tip off at seven thirty Eastern time. And
a note from hockey Pittsburgh Penguins fired head coach Mike
Sullivan today after ten seasons he had led them to
two Stanley Cup titles.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Guys, back to you.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Thank you, Denbyer, Thanks Dan Jenks Jenks on, Hey, we
got more phone calls and feedback about Shador And then
we're going to get to the dumbest hypothetical that went
viral over the weekend on social media. Do you remember
we had that conversation of how many steven A's would
it take to beat up Lebron James? Remember that hell
of the topic we did on the show. There's a
new one that was all over social media over the weekend.

(34:16):
And it's not the I'm hungry challenge. It's something else.
I'm so hungry right now, I could eat j Moore.
How did you say that? Because I'm so hungry right now?
You know that he used to work, he used to
people Lakers owner.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Now, yeah, that's right, I'm so hungry I could eat him. What.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Yeah, it's a weird, weird trending thing. So you're supposed
to bring up someone from the past. Yeah, well we'll
get to that. Your phone calls and of course dumb hypotheticals.
We'll give away some prizes all next right here on
Fox Sports Radio now Travis Matthews where it's at. Rich

than Lebron's fourth quarter. Man, I hope they step up Dan. Yeah,
not looking good.

Speaker 4 (36:10):
His defense was on point in the fourth, but unfortunately
his offense.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Was not was non existing. So I hope you had
a great weekend. Right now, we're live from the Fox
Sports Radio studio and it's time for our tire rat
play of the day. For the second straight playoff game,
Karl Anthony Towns has looked like a superstar.

Speaker 10 (36:28):
Baseline drive was seven to shoot Town's up top pump
fix side step right wing three, don it for the
lad Karl Anthony Towns call what a shot. It's ninety
four ninety three New York with forty six seconds to
go and JB.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Thicker's death. Paul Timeout the.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
South proclaimed and I think the numbers might back it up.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
Greatest big man shooter ever.

Speaker 2 (36:50):
When I saw him take that shot, I'm like, no, yes,
what a shot. That's courtesy off the Knicks Radio Network.
Cat finished with twenty seven to nine Knicks beat the
Pistons ninety four ninety three. After that controversial ending with
the NBA admitted that a foul should have been called
on Josh Harp, but hey, that's that's the tire rack.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
Play of the day.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
For over forty years, Tyraq have been helping customers find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Ship Fast and free back by free Road has protection
with the convenience of mobile tire installation ti iraq dot
com the way tire buying should be. So I'm Cavino,
that is Rich Danny g Sam Spot DB's here. Thank
you Fox Sports Radionation for hanging with us. We're giving

(37:29):
away prizes next hour. But let's take these three phone
calls and then we'll give our hypothetical. Let's wrap on
Shad or Sanders. Any final thoughts.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Listen.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
He's going to get a chance to play. That's all
he could possibly positive. The positive is that he is
going to get a chance on one of the few
teams that I think the quarterback position is up in
the air twenty As I said before twenty seven, I'd
say the thirty two teams you know who the quarterback
is Week one, the Browns are one of the five
where it's a wide open. You know, this is a

(37:58):
great scenario for him. He's a viral clip that's sort
of surfacing now of him and his dad, him and
Dion talking about the quarterback situation in Cleveland, and he's like, yeah,
Joe Flaccol's there, and Deon Sanders like he's my age,
you know, which implies to me that, yeah, he's going
to be a great backup to Shador. I think that

(38:19):
he's going to be a great mentor to Shador. I
think it's a perfect fit.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
I really do. Again trying to be because.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
People keep saying, like, bro, what if you went earlier too,
What if the Bears drafted him, they got Caleb Williams,
What if the Rams drafted him, they just signed Matthew
Stafford a couple of for a couple more years. So
I think this is a great spot for Shador. What
do you say, Matt Georgia, you're all with covied.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
On Rich First of all, I'm for Georgia. We know
Pech Cobbler around here, Jayson, Ladies that can take one
hundred dollars worth of stuff and make stuff you don't
want to eat, and your grandma put about nine dollars
in some stuff that you want to take home with you.
So what I'm trying to say is he gets his
chance two things real quick. First, he don't need to

(39:01):
be telling the NFL. If you don't want to change
your identity, don't you know there's all that cult but
the racism part needs to go away.

Speaker 9 (39:10):
Yo.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
I mean, the league's eighty percent black, half the coaches
are black.

Speaker 7 (39:16):
Can we get past that?

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Well, here's the thing too, though, you know, there are
a lot of cases where that would apply, And when
you just throw it out there all the time, it
waters those significant stories down a little bit, like this
is not one of them. It's his attitude, it's the
interview process. It's much easier to believe it was something
other than that. Yeah, Richard in Wrightwood, what's up?

Speaker 1 (39:37):
Man?

Speaker 8 (39:38):
Hey guys, Okay, I think there's an elephant in the
room here that nobody's paying attention to. I've never seen
anybody so arrogant and so pompoused, and his father cultivated
that in him. His dad should be ashamed of himself
for doing that.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know a better shame.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
I like, again, confidence and arrogance thin line. I think
maybe he's a young man chills still trying to find
that balance. Let's keep this in mind. Arrogance, cockiness, confidence,
whatever you want to call it. None of those are illegal, right,
he's not a bad kid. He never did anything wrong.
You might not like his attitude. That's why it's really

(40:18):
it's really easy to believe he just was a little
much or rub people the wrong way.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
In the interview process would.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
Be like you'd be like a young editor coming in
here a Fox Sports radio and tell him big Mike,
who runs his place? Who Mike, here's my hours, here's
how it's gonna be, and just so you know you're
lucky to have me here, Well you better back it
up then, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 5 (40:36):
Well, obviously Mike doesn't run anything around to it. But
that's beside the point. I agree with the caller in
the fact of that Dion does bear a lot of
the responsibility because who's gonna tell Shadu or No, who's
gonna tell anybody in that inner circle. In that inner
circle is gonna tell Dion? No, Yeah, no, one's there.
Dan's the only one that can do it. So while

(40:58):
it may not be ultimately him and be a disgrace,
I don't mind the marketing and and everything you do
with Colorado, there is a responsibility on dion shoulders that
I that I think he needs to bear.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Agreed Shawn and Mississippi rapid fire. Wrap it up, what's
up man?

Speaker 11 (41:13):
What I got to say is the NFL has made
more multi millionaire African Americans than any other sport statistically,
if you look it up. And another thing I got
to say, one can one can throw a needle. Cam
Ward if he wouldn't have transferred, he was still a
first round a year before. If he wouldn't have transferred,
Sanders can't. He's a checkdown passer. There's a big difference.

(41:36):
And one has an attitude with flashiness and one don't.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
There's a funny clip that I'm working out together when
comes with a circus, Now there's one. There's a funny
clip that I'm working out together, and cam Ward's like
I'd have I'd have a ninety percentage completion if I
threw a little dump off passes every time.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
So hey listen, I.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
Think it'll make for an exciting season. I wish you
door Sander's luck.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
I think we all do. We'll see what happens, right
more coven On Rich next
