Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Here we go,
let's go on a Friday night all night. It's The
Plank Show on Fox Sports Radio with Bree with Mark.
I'm Plank and what a great weekend of sports. Now again,
it's a little bit of a of a do you guys,
I'm a niche person. Like some people say Nietzsche. I've

(00:25):
always been someone that just says niche. It's a little
bit niche beyond say the NBA Final. It's more in
mainstream you even though it's an incredible show. I think
hockey is a little bit more niche if you're not
in a market where the at least you had a
good team. Golf definitely very niche because you gotta really

(00:47):
really love golf to watch these players get their butts kicked,
like what's happening right now with the US Open College
World Series. On the inside, very niche as far as
you know, wanting to pay attention to be into it.
But it's a baseball still at this point in the season,
even though you've got the Dodgers and Giants. This weekend
kind of kind of niche. But I think it's I

(01:09):
think it's a low key, great sports weekend, and I
think Father's Day coming up on Sunday. Happy Father's Day
to those of you who get to celebrate. I do
not because my kids suck. But with that and I
mean that would love, and they just don't have any
money to buy them anything cool yet and like my like,
my wife's gonna go out and get me a cool
Father's Day gift. But on a Father's Day weekend, I mean,

(01:30):
outside of playing in the NFL, and what do we
have some NFL to talk about, but outside of playting
like the NFL and college football games in the middle
of this weekend. Not too bad. Not too bad for
an early summer weekend, right, And you know we're counting
on the days. I think we're seventy one days away
from the maybe now seventy with we tick into a Saturday,

(01:53):
from the start of the college football season. So whether
it be like eighty eight days away from the start
of the NFL season, but to have all the events,
all the storylines, all the angles, we have pretty awesome night.
So let's get after it. If you know what you
want to talk about before I hit it eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety

(02:14):
six six, three, six nine. We're very active through the
overnight on on the X. You can find me at
Plank Show. Brie is at Bree Denise twenty six. Mark
Ramsey our technical guru. Is that Mark Ramsey six four
nine five oh, and everybody should be following us at
Fox Sports Radio. I got a very by the way,

(02:36):
good evening, Brie. How are you doing you guys? You
guys ready to roll for tonight?

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yes, just get situated.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Happy Friday, Happy Friday. Mark, You're good, ready to roll.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
All is well, Happy Father's Day to you.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Thank you, thank thank you. Everything good. I know that
I was going to reach out and check on y'all,
but then every time I do, like when the wildfires
were taking place, You're kind of like, no, no, no,
that's more there, well away from us. So, like with
everything that was going on in La, are we good? Everyone,
everyone's safe and secure.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Breed so far, so good.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
I'm only worried about tomorrow because there's gonna be a
number of protests kind of throughout, So I'm just.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
A little worried about that. But right now, all good
over here on my side. What about you, Mark?

Speaker 4 (03:20):
So far, I haven't been on a free away with
that's bothered.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Me so far, so far. Will y'all be peaceful, be safe,
just I was worried about you this week, but I'm glad. Hey,
we have a show tonight where there's no tornado warnings
going on during it, so I consider that a dub
right away.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Is it raining though, or is it no rain?

Speaker 1 (03:40):
No rain?

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
No rain. I don't know what to do with myself
right now. I'm kind of a sky high to be
honest with you in a very legal way, very legal way, Scott,
no illegal substances involved in the good mood I'm in
tonight because that good mood was taken care of by
the way the Oklahoma City thunder plate. Oh quick. I
got a very very nasty text at the end of

(04:03):
the show last week, very and it's bothered me all
week long. And I'm not a big blocker of people.
I mean, you gotta really piss me off to get blocked,
like you gotta say something about my kids. But this person,
I mean, I guess they were listening to the podcast,
which blows me away. Why you would listen to the
podcast if you're gonna be so mean said something along

(04:24):
the lines of reading tweets, lazy radio, blah blah blah.
Wish party was back. First of all, me too, because
I'd love to be in bed right now. Okay, I'm
just I'm being a number two. I think reading tweets
an x or whatever, it's an important part of the program.
It allows people a way to get involved that don't
have time to wait on hold at eight seven seven

(04:46):
ninety nine on Fox, or maybe just want to fire Salvough.
I think it's important. I always have. I wish we
have a text line for my local show, and I
wish I could use that. I guess I technically could,
right we could give number to it. But I think
that that's a cool way to interact on the program.
I'm not just like, oh my gosh, Brie, what are

(05:07):
we going to talk about this segment? Let me go
to Twitter. It's just, you know, I think it's a
way to interact, and that's why I always give the
Arnie and I live on it on Sunday nights. So
if you, buddy, I just want to start with anger
because I'm in such a good mood. But I think
it's an important way to get involved in the program,
and I encourage it at Plank Show at Bredon He's

(05:29):
twenty six at Mark Ramsey six four nine five zero
at Fox Sports Radio. Do you consider that a lazy
way out, Brie, as the co hosts of this program.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
I do not.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
I think it's a really inclusive, fun way And I
used to actually, I used to listen to your show
whenever you'd fill in for Jonas, and I used to
tweet at you all the time every time I heard
my name, like, oh, Bree Denise, twenty sixth day, we
love it. Yeah, it's super fun. I think that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
I think for me personally, it's kind of where I
spin and way too much time. Now I'm trying to
stay off at tonight because here's the thing. Oklahoma City
beat Indiana and the series is now even at two
games apiece, and everyone who was anyone about midway through
the third quarter and into the fourth quarter started complaining

(06:17):
and throwing a fit because they thought it was over.
Like Thunderfans were bailing off the bandwagon like crazy. So
now they're all back. They were deleting tweets, they're running
out to the airport. It's it's awesome, right, but I
can't get sucked into this fight about the fouls. I
just I can't. I can't allow myself to have that happen.

(06:39):
It's just it was too good of a game. I
can't disagree with what Jason Smith, Jason and Mike. There
were handful of calls that really changed the direction of
that game late. Now, the problem is you have people
have plenty of time on their hands tonight who then
go through and you know, they they'll they'll zoom the
picture and it's like, look, wasn't a foule he grabbed

(07:01):
them here? I mean, come on, guys, that the shot
that gave the Thunder the lead. Shay got away with
the push off and then he traveled. But again, Indiana
still had a chance to rally. That wasn't the end
of the game. You got Tyrese Haliburton taking balloon threes
from the logo whenever he's gotten one of the hottest
shooting guys on the team in Siakham standing just wide

(07:22):
open on the baseline. I just I don't understand that.
So to me, I just I can't allow myself to
get in the minutia of the fight over the fouls.
Because yes, I understand Scott Foster, the officials track record. Yes,
I understand that Oklahoma City had some calls and went
their way tonight, But you know what, Indiana had plenty

(07:44):
of opportunities to be able to take advantage of that,
and they got locked up. They got locked up. I
come to you as somebody who lives in Oklahoma who
has jumped on the Thunder bandwagon. But yet I think
I have a pretty balanced mind and feeling about this.
It's you know, I'm not tweeting I love my Thunder.
I'm not tweeting, I believe in my thought. No, I'm

(08:05):
looking at this as somebody who would love to have
a parade to go to in a couple of weeks. Actually,
I think I'm on vacation, but I'd love to have
a parade to go to for OKC. But yet I
also realize he there's a few things there. It's a
few breaks that have to go your way in order
to win a championship. Now, I will say I think
this series is far from over. I think this series

(08:28):
is far from over. That was a great win for
OKC tonight in a game that they had no business winning.
If you missed in one eleven one oh four, coming
up at the bottom of this hour. Bottom of this hour,
we're gonna take you through the press conferences and you're
gonna hear from Halliburton and Rick Carlisle and Shay Gilges,
Alexander and dub Jalen Williams. But when okc was dead

(08:53):
in the water, Indiana did the same thing they did
in game three to try to allow Oklahom City back
in the game. They do so many stupid things, and
as a pay you can be mad about calls, but
as a Pacers fan, as an NBA fan, if you're
not playing solitaire and you're actually watching the game as

(09:14):
an NBA fan, you have to pull back and realize
the turnovers late in game three, the what should have
been a flagrant foul on Alex Caruso in Game three,
I mean, Indiana, for as well coached as they appear
to be, do some pretty dumb things, and tonight they

(09:35):
did some pretty dumb things that allowed Oklahoma City to
get back in and then win that game. Now, when
you have the MVP, and when you have someone who
was in their first finals, you sometimes worry about the
moment being too big. And there were moments after Game
three where I was concerned Game three, which, by the way,
the NBA boy, they can't. They can't reach that happy medium.

(09:58):
Either they spread things out too terribly fall or they
played them too close to each eye. They can't make
up their mind. But I thought Indiana had the best
plan against see gilges Alexander that I've seen this entire postseason,
maybe this entire season, where they were just throwing bodies
at him, and they were getting physical from baseline to baseline, inline, inline, sideline,

(10:18):
his sideline. He had a dude or two draped on
him the entire game, and I worried. Near the end
of Game three, I saw Oklahoma City do some very
un Oklahoma City things, and if you watching them a
lot this year, I get it, but you're really missing out.
And the end of Game three was not them. I can't.

(10:38):
I've laughed about it NonStop. But the chet Holm Grin
three attempt that was blocked in Game three by Miles Turner,
then he's like, I'll show you, and he gets the
Pengos driving in and it gets blocked like twice, Shaye
trying to go one on five, just dribbling around. They
I thought they panicked, right, So then you fast forward

(11:00):
to tonight's game, and in those moments where they panic
near the end of Game three, they just got out
of Shay's way. They just they did a good job
set multiple screens to get him free, and he knocked
down shots. I mean, you're gonna hear all the stats

(11:20):
all night long, but thirty five points, fifteen of those
in the fourth quarter, on a night when Oklahoma City
made the least amount of threes that they had made
all season long, they outscored in Indiana thirty one to
seventeen in the fourth quarter, and over the final three
minutes and twenty seconds they outscored him twelve to one.

(11:42):
That's how you win a game. It's how you win
a championship. And now Indiana, who with about two and
a half minutes to go in the game, had everything
laid out in front of him, now face a challenging
uphill climb where OKC has garnered home court advantage again.
You're heading back to Oaklawn. I guess they're walking back
because we're not playing until Monday. You're heading back to

(12:03):
Oklahoma City to play a game on Monday where winners
of Game five in NBA Final Series that we're tied.
It to a piece. Winners of game five win seventy
five percent of the time twenty three and eight in finals.
So a lot of things came up. Okac tonight, bre

(12:27):
what jumped out to you from the thunder comeback went tonight?
Pretty impressive?

Speaker 2 (12:30):
It was pretty impressive.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
I was thinking about what you said about the Pacers
kind of making some really dumb oh.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
That Miles Turner fell like and late in the fourth,
like what are you doing?

Speaker 5 (12:41):
You know?

Speaker 1 (12:42):
And if they can make a couple free throws late,
that might be a little bit more dicey for Okac.
But and then they're fouling, I mean elementary things, right,
And a couple of times I'm not like, like chet
Holmgren has a hold of a dude's jersey and they
call the foul and I don't remember which one of
the I don't know which one of those gnats that

(13:04):
the Pacers have that just hit threes non sound about
five of them that just consistently make plays, but they
called the you know, they call the technical foul on
the Thunder all right, assume me on the Pacers and
the Thunder get are free throw in a possession out
of it. But in those moments were even late where hey,
you make a couple free throws here, it's a one

(13:24):
possession game, maybe the panic is on Indiana. Couldn't do it,
couldn't do it.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Yeah, they just looked really flustered, really easy easy.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Thirty one to seventeen in the fourth quarter. I'll tell
you the moment where the moment where I kind of
thought Indiana might be in a little bit of trouble here.
I'm not gonna lie it was. It was not until
there were two minutes to go in the game, because
I thought when Halliburton made the three and they went

(13:54):
up one o three ninety nine, I thought, you know what,
that might be too much to overcome. That might be
tough if he's gonna make because he's gonna make that
shot again because he's made it NonStop. But when when
Shay made his three and then Caruso brought a block

(14:15):
nim Hart's jumper, a little short jumper that probably would
have given UH Indiana lead back and Crusoe blocked it,
that was the moment where you had that push off,
which we'll be fined about it if you want. But
it was one of four, one o three with two
twenty three to go, and I thought they're in big trouble.
They're in big trouble, and they and the Pacers were

(14:35):
so MVP is gonna MVP and now we'll see what
the Pacers are made of going forward. I mean, does
this now you think this is? This is over? And six?
Does it change anything you thought prediction Wisebrie?

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Well, I hadn't.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I mean, you had the thunder and.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Five right hand sweeping, so it's away.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
I had it in five and then I went to
a sweep and then you know that was done.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
But I'm actually I'm gonna go totally off grid and
I'm gonna say seven. I feel like I can see
it going seven.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
You know, it's kind of wild about it is, I
was going back through. The Pacers haven't lost back to
back games since March, and wildly enough, it was a
three game losing streak in which they lost twice to
Atlanta and then a random trip to Chicago was in

(15:30):
there as well. Oklahoma City has been incredible following a
loss this year. They're eighteen and two following a loss.
That's a winning percentage of nine hundred, which is equal
to the eighty six eighty seven Lakers they haven't lost

(15:52):
back to back games in the playoffs, and I mean,
you got to you gotta really do some digging to
go back into the regular season to find out the
last time that OKC lost back to back games. I
mentioned that it was March for Indiana. OKACS came a
little bit later than that, but it was April April

(16:14):
fourth and sixth. They got beat by Houston and then
the Lakers smoked them, which, by the way, that April
I guess you go back. Sixth loss to the Lakers
was kind of that moment where everyone thought that the
Luca trade was starting to gel for the Lakers, and
then the bottom just fell out the rest of the
way for Lakers fans. Anyway, who's gonna crack tonight? It

(16:40):
was Indiana down the stretch. But again they're doing the
things you need to do to beat OKAC. Can you
carry that on the road and try to put yourself
in position to win it at home in game six?
Or did you miss your opportunity there? Did you shoot
your shot? And now there's OKC juggernaut that is dominated, dominate.

(17:03):
This is one of the greatest regular seasons ever dominate
into the playoffs. Is this the moment where they just
go ahead and finish you because that was your last
Hail Mary. The luck has run out, by the luck
is unfair. I'm not trying to say they're lucky, minding
stretch of the imagination. The magic has run out for Indiana.
Kind of feel the ladder right now. It's a good

(17:24):
Oklahoma City team. And when you get production like that
from Caruso or you know, it was Aaron Wiggins one game.
Chet's been on a little bit of a roller coaster,
but he was outstanding tonight. And then if you're within
striking distance and you've got the MVP gonna be tough
to beat three games, you're you're in a best of
three now. And okay, so he's got home court advantage

(17:47):
back and that place is gonna be rocking. On Monday
Night at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine ninety six six three six nine, Hitcher
calls coming up early in the program, I've got a
postgame locker room conversations you'll hear from I see right
now Tyrese Haliburton is they're shown his press conference on ESPN.

(18:07):
You'll hear some of that coming up in just a bit.
But I have a really big problem with these finals,
and it has nothing to do with the poor ratings
or the fight over the market size. But it's the presentation,
the presentation. I'll explain what I mean next. As we
roll on a Friday night with Brion Mark, I'm Plank.
This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (18:25):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
All right, welcome back into the Plank Show here on
Fox Sports Radio all night. Nature boys cracking me up
on Twitter here writes why is it that Shay Gilgess
Alexander always adjusts himself whenever he flops to the ground
and has to wait for his teammates to pull him up.
MJ always got up on his own, very snowflake like
you know, I'm not here to fight tonight. It's all

(19:01):
love to two two series, it's anyone's game, thunder half
home court advantage back. But you want to complain about
a call or two, Indiana had several opportunities to overcome those. Now,
I will say this much, Brie, how much? Now have
you been a sit down view start to finish every
single game fan of the NBA Finals.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
I think there was a game Two was the only
game I didn't but every other game, like today, I
watched it from beginning to end.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Okay, I've been living this and I don't. I don't know,
because they do the weird thing where some of the
series will be on TNT and then some will be
on ESPN. I just I want to make sure I
give this disclaimer. The opinions of this segment are mine.
Fox Sports Radio is not. I think in connection with

(19:53):
like this doesn't represent how Fox Sports or Fox Sports
one feels. But I just got to say this and
get it off my chest. ESPN's presentation of the NBA
is the most embarrassing thing they've ever done. And I
don't know. I watch hockey. I watched Start to Finish
hockey on Thursday night. It was an enjoyable experience. Do

(20:16):
you know they did this crazy thing which was air
the announcement of the starting lineups, They had the national
anthem that was played. They had intelligent conversations about hockey.
And this is a you people problem. Okay, I'm pointing

(20:36):
the finger at you because you keep responding and replying
and things. It is abysmal man what they're doing. And
maybe you're not paying attention because it's too small market teams,
so you don't have time for it because it's not
New York and it's not LA And that's fine, you're progative.

(20:57):
But it is so bad. It is so bad, and
I don't know what's happened to what I thought was
a pretty good play by play booth. Mike Breen is
a rock star. But Richard Jefferson and Doris Burke go
together like water and oil, and all they do is

(21:19):
over talk about the fowls. That's it. They don't break
down plays, they don't break down anything. They complain about fowls,
and that's it. Number two. You know what was great
about being a kid, and I know we got to
go back aways, but you know what was fun is
when I would watch a sporting event, it made me
want to be there and it made me feel like

(21:39):
I was there, all right. The announcement of the starting lineups.
Remember the Detroit Pistons Guy Boo boo book bill ups.
These people became rock star. It's the PA guy for
the Bulls from North Caroline. Now I know I'm going
back aways, I'm going back early two thousands, of late nineties,
but these are core memories I remember. I remember being

(22:00):
a kid when the Timberwolves made the playoffs for the
first time, and maybe I should rephrase that made a
run in the playoffs kg Stefan Marberry. I say, be
a kid. I was probably in like college, late high school,
early college, and I remember I couldn't wait to sit
down and watch the game so I could see the crowd,
so I could hear how they react to the starting lineups.

(22:23):
Now I'm getting hot take after hot take over eight
guys talking over each other and nothing. It makes me
not only not want to be there, makes me not
want to watch the game. It's like, so, I have
this plea. I know I have very little power, and
I know you put all your primetime players on the
air at two thirty am Eastern time, but please, for

(22:46):
the love of all that is holy and for the
love of sports fans, at the very least, can we
get back to hearing the announcement of the starting lineups,
to hearing the anthem, to making it feel like when
we watch it that we're there and we're a part
of the game instead of Bob Myers, what do you think?

(23:07):
And he starts talking, then Kendall, then Kendrick Perkins has
to talk over him. Then Steven A. Smith's got to
act like everything needs to stop and pause while he
takes his very dramatic, pregnant pauses. I I my head explodes.
It's just me. Let me be a part of the game.
Let me feel like I'm there. If you listen, by

(23:28):
the way to my local show, you're so tired of
hearing this, so I apologize to the ref army that's
tuned in at two thirty am Eastern Time one thirty
am Central. But breee, this is driving me crazy. Go
back just YouTube op like NBC's broadcast of the NBA
Finals in the nineties and into the two It's awesome.

(23:50):
It's awesome now the technology is a little different, but
it's awesome.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
There was a better balance of entertainment and information.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
You know what. You could not be more right. I
one final thought on this. I am not usually someone
who tries to get too carried away in playing things
from podcasts that aren't ours, right, I just I understand it.
But I think I heard the smartest thing I've heard
when it comes to what's wrong with the NBA, and

(24:18):
then in that the NBA's just kind of overall vibe.
Logan Murdoch. Are you familiar with him at all, Bree,
because I was not Logan Murdock mark anyone. He is, Yes,
very good. He was on one of my favorite podcasts,
it's called The press Box with Brian Curtis. Outstanding. Listen,

(24:39):
especially if you're a media nerd like me, and listen
to his point about the NBA.

Speaker 7 (24:44):
There isn't that storytelling aspect from any powers that be, right, Like,
we're not telling the story of the NBA. So like
if they're okay, you don't have Stephan Lebron in the finals, Okay,
Now what do you do?

Speaker 1 (24:57):
How do you sell your game?

Speaker 7 (24:59):
And and I don't think that the NBA has done
a good job of selling its game, even with the
NBA Cup or even like with the All Star Game, right,
Like I think there's just it's always tinkering and tinkering
and tinkering. But it's not like they're they're they're just
selling for the most part of the NBA, they're selling transactions,
now that's right.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
I mean it's almost as if everyone is so pained,
and I'm kind of little side. I had a few
of our friends here at Fox Sports Radio. Everyone is
so pained actually have to talk about the game. It's like, well,
what's Kevin Duran doing, Where's Kevin Duran going? What's going
on there? What's going on with the honest I mean,

(25:42):
it's just can we step back for a little bit
and enjoy there's an actual game going on that we
can talk about. You know what I'd like to know?
Do you know what I love? I love whenever you
get a good story about someone, right, I'd like to
know more about chat chat plays in my see plays
for I guess you could say, hypothetically now, since I'm

(26:03):
a bandwagon guy my team, But where this dude come from?
How is this absolute unicorn of a player that had
a pretty good run agains zagon never won a title,
but from everything I understand about him, small town and
Minnesota's just outside of Minneapolis. Just dude, seven foot one,

(26:25):
two oh eight. I mean, I'm I'm a little over
to eight and I'm five and nine, So how is
this happening? You know, I'd like to learn a little
bit more about Aaron Asmith like, what's what's his story?
But no, you know what I get. I get more
hot takes from Bob Myers. And when Bob Myers is
given his hot take, it's not good enough because Kendrick

(26:48):
Perkins has to talk over it every single time. You
know what, I'd like to learn a little bit more
about Benedict mathern what a cool story, right? Or how
about Obi toppin Obi top and was a guy that
was perceived by some maybe to be a foundational piece
in one point for the Nixon here he is, I mean,

(27:11):
he was one of the best players for the Pacers
tonight and none. No, I don't get that. I get
What's gonna happen with the Knick's coaching search in my
pregame show. Just there's stories to be told, man, and
we act like we're too good for him in the NBA.
And I'll never understand that. And it's a you people problem.

(27:32):
It's what you guys seem to click on on what
you want. So if you're sitting here tonight laughing about
Steven A. Smith and playing solitaire and then basically being
caught in a lie, He's like, it's what I do
during your time out and I mean it literally zoomed
from a play going on on the court to you
playing solitaire. If you're getting tired of every single thing

(27:53):
that comes out of the NBA Finals having to be
some bloviated take, I mean, that's what we're here for.
That's what that's what we're here for. I'm pretty sure
that if you put the Fox Sports radio crew just
doing we'd be pretty awesome about it. We'd want to
find storylines and angles, not ESPN man. And I don't
know when that happened. I don't know when that shift
took place, but I'm here to tell you get off

(28:14):
my lawn. I don't like it. I don't It's une. Sorry.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
I was just gonna say, isn't it funny like a
Week six NFL game like story like just like a
pregame on like on Fox before like a week's they
have like three storylines or three segments about.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Great interviews with a soft live little music.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
In the background, like the production that goes into just
like a random Week six that's more entertaining and more
fun to watch than anything that we've seen in this finals.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Is the NBA Finals. We're going to crown a champion
and we're treating it like it's Thursday night in the NBA.
But here, we are, here, we are Oh shut up, George,
I'm glad you're you're losing your hearing. You got options,
you jerk. And by the way, Kendrick Perkins, I don't

(29:10):
know if I've truly been able to understand anything he said.
Him and Shack it's like I need to put subtitles on.
I don't know why. I don't know if it's something
with their MIC's. I don't know if they're mumblers or what.
But I can't understand a word that they say. And Eddie,
you're right, hockey games have been fired. It's making the
NBA look really bad. I agree. ESPN needs to trade

(29:32):
in Doris and Richard for a box of rocks before
their value goes any lower. You know what, Doris Burke
was like one of the most beloved figures in the NBA,
I mean beloved and just a put her in the
main booth and suddenly he kind of realize what's going
on here. I don't blame her. I think Richard Jefferson

(29:53):
is terrible. I mean, whoever's idea what Mark Jackson and
jeff Van Gunny might have been a little bit much
and oh Mama, there goes that man again. But at
least it was something. You know, this is whoever's idea
this was, needs to go kick rocks all right? Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six sixty three sixty nine. I see y'a on Hold, Poppy,

(30:15):
hang in there. I'll get to you, as well as
a couple good texts on the super Secret Textoso line
sold that from you, petros Uh eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox. I want to hit two cuts here
from the post game. Two cuts here, real quick from
the post game? Number one, Rick Carlisle, are you concerned
about needing to motivate these guys even more after blowing

(30:36):
a lead late and losing one eleven one oh four.

Speaker 8 (30:39):
I don't need to motivate these guys. I think I
think they have a sense of where they are. But
you know, this kind of a challenge is going to
have extreme highs and extreme lows, and this is a
low right now, and we're gonna have to bounce back
from it.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
A little bit shorter, a little bit less than what
you would typically get from them, but short to the
point and what And I thought this was a little
bit of a uh, this is a little bit of
a subtle job at the officiating.

Speaker 8 (31:08):
We're gonna look at the film tomorrow and then travel.
You know, they had thirty eight free throws and that
was a problem. They made thirty four to thirty eight.
We had thirty three and made twenty five. You know,
they missed four. We mean we missed eight. You know
those the difference of wars is significant. You know, there's
a lot of little things going on, but it's this

(31:31):
series is going to come down to the basics, and
our inability to effectively rebound.

Speaker 9 (31:37):
When we needed to is the biggest thing.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
You know.

Speaker 8 (31:40):
Forty three to thirty three and a bunch of second
chance points, you know, made it, made it difficult and
in the end impossible.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
So yere you there, you go, frustrating, frustrating for Pacer fans. Tonight,
all I gotta break. If you're on hold, hanging there,
I'll get right to you with Brion Markhump this Blank
Show through the night, all night here on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, welcome back into the Plank Show eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety

(32:10):
six six three six nine. Do you want to you
want to get Poppy's picks here early?

Speaker 10 (32:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (32:15):
Yeah, let's do it. Well, lead off here tonight, Poppy.
Welcome to the show. What's going on? Buddy?

Speaker 11 (32:21):
Hey?

Speaker 12 (32:23):
Come, hey, And I just first of all, I just
want to say Happy Father's Day, Earny, Father's Day to you,
Chris Flank and everybody else in the world.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
Thank you.

Speaker 12 (32:32):
You're welcome.

Speaker 13 (32:33):
Man.

Speaker 14 (32:33):
Don't worry.

Speaker 11 (32:33):
You're gonna have a great time with your family.

Speaker 12 (32:35):
I know I'm a father myself, but all I can
tell you is joy. The ride doesn't matter about the gift.
It's just about bogging. If you're gonna have a barbecue,
it's gonna be great because you had an early gift,
you know, today from Scott Foster. And I was telling
you guys, telling you that Scott Box was gonna help
the thunder. I was telling you guys about Scott Boss

(32:57):
is a real hero right here for a thunder.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
So how does he then flip and help Indiana? That's
what I want to know. They does it just change
whenever he if he's calling the OKC game in are't
you the game in OKC? On Monday?

Speaker 12 (33:11):
Well, I don't know about Monday yet, but what I
could tell you about it. People were hitting me up
on you know, on Twitter, on next DM me maybe privately,
and they were saying, hey, Pacers are gonna win. I
know you said this, this and that, and they were
like kind of like, you know, making fun of me
and saying that, like he's gonna win. And I didn't

(33:31):
even say my pickout there. I didn't throw my pickout there.

Speaker 15 (33:34):
Of the game.

Speaker 12 (33:35):
And then, uh, pretty much. I called Rob Parker because
they were doing that and earlier, and I told Rob Parker,
I'm like, hey, I know the game's going back and
forth with there, and I told them, God, Foster the
Pacer is gonna win this game. And everybody on that
show would disagreeing with me, like pay search papers, and
I love that when everybody's going against me and I'm
the only one as a sports capper, you know, the

(33:58):
best undergone Capra, I take side on right. You know,
I'm very helpful, but I also got to show the
skills that I got. Everyone's going against me. I'm doing
something good because you know, I'm a master on stop Boster.

Speaker 11 (34:09):
I got my PhD.

Speaker 12 (34:10):
I call him the doctor. You know, I take this
smathe I'll say, stop, Bonster, stop. Now I'm hearing more
about there.

Speaker 15 (34:16):
Before people weren't.

Speaker 12 (34:17):
Talking about that, but I had to bring it to
the universe and introduce it because, like you know, there's
people right here that're listening to you. And I know
people you said.

Speaker 16 (34:26):
That that Boxer.

Speaker 12 (34:27):
If you're doing people are blocking you, you're doing something
good on your podcast. I wanted to tell you that, Chris,
because me people block.

Speaker 14 (34:34):
Me on x too, because I said that on the
Thunder and.

Speaker 12 (34:38):
The reason why they blocked me, I said, this NBA
Finals Guide is not going to go to Game seven. Yeah,
it's going to game six.

Speaker 17 (34:47):
And for you, Chris Plank, and.

Speaker 12 (34:49):
I know you were saying about the Thunder that they're
not too motivated like that. I'll tell you guys, if
it's says the mind is whatever it is. I don't
know what the line is right now, Chris Plank. For
Monday's games.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
Nine and a half, wait, hold on eleven and a half,
I think is what I saw on ESPN bat Yeah.

Speaker 12 (35:07):
Eleven, even if it's eleven and a half or nine
and a half, we're gonna wait and hopefully that number
that goes a little bit down, guys. But even if that,
if that's the line, we're gonna take the thunder. Thunder
gonna win this. They're gonna destroy this because I told
you before. SGA is the NBC and he's the league.
Remember back in the did Michael Jordan NDP and the
Boogle win? Well, right here, SGA is the real deal.

(35:30):
And you know with Scott Bosser, you know people are
complaining all this and that, No, he's the best rep.
You guys took the wrong side, So he is the
best rep. And yeah, bet on him on Monday. And
I don't know, I'm gonna give you, guys, like a
free pick. You guys want to do another one for.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Like, yeah, give me a free pick, give me a
free pick, Poppy, I'm gonna.

Speaker 17 (35:50):
Hit you tomorrow the revenge game and the Dodgers doctors
Scott Banks today, right, So they're gonna come tomorrow and
they're gonna give it through all and for revenge in
a phoner.

Speaker 12 (36:01):
Pick for WNBA Clayton Clarks coming tomorrow. Take the plus
five Clayton Clark's in the place for a couple of
minutes and they will do the upset on that one.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Thanks Buddy Talk. To you say, Poppy, Poppy's picks wow
in the leadoff spot tonight on the phones. How about
that he was talking so fast. I don't think I
heard any of his picks, so I might have to
go back and listen to the podcast to get him. Hey,
the Plank parlay almost hit this week, almost hit. We
came damn close because we had the thunder money line,

(36:30):
we had the over on Pascal Siakam, but we took
the pacers and the points which was nine and a
half for Game two, and it just didn't work out.
It's wild. We were able to give you a pick
last week in the Plank Parlay for Game two, and
then by the time we finally get here the following Friday,
we just wrapped up on Game three. I mean, it

(36:52):
was wild. Thirty year, thirty one years ago, the Oklahoma
Sooner has won the national championship in baseball. College World
Series was over by this point thirty one years ago.
Tonight was the start of the College World Series. I mean,
we have just extended and expanded sports schedules like crazy.

(37:13):
I want to counter this real quick because I think
it's a fair criticism and I don't disagree with Superstar,
Superstar Dad. He writes, people hate on the NBA so
much they'll talk about anything but the game. Last week
it was ratings, then it was the logo on the court.
Now it's the broadcast booth, are the studio show. We

(37:34):
get it, you all need football to do good radio,
But damn, this is getting sad. At this point, he adds,
we got a hell of a series going on, aren't we,
sports fans. We're complaining over bells and whistles without even checking.
I guarantee you the NBA Finals has better ratings than
the Stanley Cup Final with two small market teams. Here's
the point, Okay, we literally spent the first thirty minutes

(37:56):
of the show talking about the game. I love the
I'm here for it. My point is no one's talking
about it.

Speaker 6 (38:03):
Man.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
You're preaching to the choir on this, but part of
the reason. And I'm just here to tell you. If
an NFL broadcast sucks, if the Super Bowl broadcast sucks,
we talk about it. If a college football broadcast sucks,
we talk about it. Come on, man, you can love
the NBA as much as I love the NBA, but
you gotta admit this is embarrassing what ESPN is doing,

(38:25):
and great you're winning in the ratings over hockey. That
shouldn't be your comparison. Your comparison for the NBA should
be with I mean, I should be with every sport, right,
It's tough to beat the NFL, but you should be
at least knocking on their door, and they're not. So
I get what you're saying. I'm with you, but there
comes a point where while you're watching this and while

(38:48):
you're taking it in, you gotta be saying to yourself,
this is bad. And what brings more people to the
sport is knowing more about the players, feeling like you're
at the game and we're not getting that. We're getting
high from every single person that's on the ESPN payroll.
And it's enough, it's enough. Just give me the game.

(39:08):
I don't even a pregame show anymore. I don't know why,
why it's my fault. I'll start My pregame show is
now gonna be Rob Parker. That's what I've decided, all right.
Line them up eight seven seven ninety nine one, Fox
eight seven seven nine ninety six six three sixth Night
got a lot of really good tweets that we're gonna
get to. I have a whole segment prepared speaking of football,
by the way, for our NFL Mini Camp takeaways, because

(39:30):
we had OTA's then we had mini camps. Now our
next step is the season. But I felt like it
was a newsy week. I felt like it was pretty
heavy and things that we saw, including a couple quarterback
battles that minor materialized where we didn't think it would be.
It's Fox Sports Radio. Stick around. You're listening to Fox
Sports Radio Radio Died hour two. I got football. I mean,

(39:55):
I'm getting zero from you guys in the NBA except
wanting to fight with me on things out of the mood.
There's a lot of happiness in football, including a quarterback
quandary in Indye and you know Aaron Rodgers. I'm happy
that he's got a home right and that, you know,
one of the great kind of like the White Elephant

(40:18):
or the non stop topic on this program, where will
Aaron Rodgers play. I'm glad it came to an end,
but I don't know, maybe I'm it just doesn't look
right that the Steelers helmet on him.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
It's like just I don't know the jersey, the helmet,
it just looks really funky to me.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
And I'm a big aesthetics guy. I mean, that's just
kind of my thing. And I'm looking at him. I know,
we're just getting warm up. So, I mean, you got
people in Cleveland who are like fighting over daily stats
from OTAs and and mini camp from their quarterbacks, which
is you would talk about insanity. That's pure insane. But

(41:01):
I don't know, man, I just found myself getting sucked
in to a lot of NFL news this week. In fact,
we'll hit that coming up in a Internet segment. By
the way, Breeze three around the Corner tweets of the
night in your Calls at eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine Night six sixty three
sixty nine. Before we hit some of the postgame le
we'll get Jake in here. Jake from Boston has been patient. Jake,

(41:24):
Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. What's going on? Man?

Speaker 18 (41:27):
Hey? How you doing?

Speaker 15 (41:27):
Man? I just wanted to ask you, all right, so
I know it's not like a gambling show. There's been
this kid that's on Instagram right now. We's everywhere.

Speaker 18 (41:36):
He has a.

Speaker 15 (41:37):
Thirteen dollars to make two hundred and seventy thousand dollars
parlay where he has the Oilers winning and he has
a Thunder winning, and everyone's been talking about after every game,
cash out, cash out, don't cash out, And I just
wanted to know your opinion on where it's at right
now with.

Speaker 18 (41:54):
The two to two in both series.

Speaker 15 (41:56):
What would you do right now? Because in my opinion,
I really think that he should catch out because I
think the Rangers are gonna win. I think the thunder
are gonna win.

Speaker 18 (42:05):
But I want to see where you're at.

Speaker 1 (42:06):
Okay, let me let me go ahead and uh and
dig on this a little bit.

Speaker 7 (42:12):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
So this is from this is actually a person. It's
not some sort of ad, right, So this is a
legit thing, right, Yeah, no, not at all.

Speaker 15 (42:22):
They've been posting it every single day, like the update.
He's the press, he's happy, like every single day they've
been posting it.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
Okay, all right, I appreciate the phone call, you know,
it's I feel like there's so and just to let
me give you my quick thoughts on it. This kid's
name is Drew Hirshman. He threw down thirteen dollars on
a five leg parlay last year through Draft Kings, and

(42:55):
it relied on Liberty, the Doyers, the Eagles, the Oilers,
and the Thunder to win a title that was up
for grabs with a potential return of two hundred and
seventy thousand dollars. He's twenty four years old, currently living
with his parents. Now he only needs Edmonton in Oklahoma

(43:19):
City to deliver after checking the first three boxes. I
hate to sound dumb. What did Liberty win that got him?

Speaker 2 (43:28):
Do we know they won the WNBA finals?

Speaker 14 (43:31):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (43:31):
Okay, I'm a dummy. When they said Liberty, I thought
they meant like Liberty University, the Flames, like in my
college world. I'm like, like, what are the flames?

Speaker 16 (43:42):
One?

Speaker 1 (43:43):
What are we doing here? Okay? So he needed the WNBA,
Major League Baseball, NFL and now Stanley Cup and NBA.
Oh oh, that's tough. Hershman said he's turned down multiple
people who have offered him over six figures to buy

(44:04):
the ticket, including one that came in at one hundred
and thirty five thousand dollars before it was rescinded, and
he told The New York Post that he's worked with
his dad, who's described as a math guy, to dream
up some hedges that could have cost him about fifty
thousand dollars, but will presumably ensure that he'll be getting

(44:29):
a very solid return on his investment. He said, the
current ceiling is around two hundred and ten thousand dollars. Now, okay,
so you've got it. I would feel really good about
the Thunder. The oilers come back in Florida on Friday night,
was promising, I see, I just there's so many of

(44:52):
these things that are ads, and I feel like that
I'm gonna all of a sudden, we're gonna find out
that this is for underdog fantasy or something like that.
Bring Okay, what would you do? Would you let it
ride with the oilers in the Thunder? Both series are
two games apiece where the oilers in Thunder win. You
could take home two hundred and seventy k or would you?

(45:13):
And I don't know what Draft Kings is offering him
as a cash out. They don't have that on here,
he said. People have offered it, but it's been rescinded.
I think I would, I would panic, I would cash out.

Speaker 3 (45:25):
They updated their offer at one hundred and seven thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
Okay, So Draft Kings did to him.

Speaker 3 (45:33):
It's a parlay, So I would just I would wait
it out, and if you if the Oilers and the
Thunder lose, then that was the risk you were willing
to take. So I wouldn't cash out. I would just
go all the way the parlay for a reason. You
can't just take the easy way out just because you're
a little scared.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
You're three out of five?

Speaker 1 (45:55):
What a pick though?

Speaker 2 (45:57):
Right?

Speaker 1 (45:57):
I mean to be honest with you, because I mean
the Dodgers were, I mean, your big winner here, your
biggest odds here. It was the Eagles who were at
plus seventeen hundred. The Dodgers were, I want to say,
they were betting favorites. The Liberty were at plus one ninety,
Thunder at plus eight fifty, the Oilers at plus eight fifty.

(46:19):
So and by the way, when he made the bet,
there at plus eight fifty. Now the Thunder a like
minus five twenty five, and Edmonton's at two fifteen plus two.

Speaker 2 (46:27):
Fifteen, so you would catch up.

Speaker 1 (46:30):
That's a great question.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
Playing parlay. You believe in parlay two?

Speaker 1 (46:36):
Jake, I love park. Well, Okay, first of all, I
don't get the bat. Gambling's not legal yet in Oklahoma, right,
ugly sports gambling is and we got great casinos around here,
Riverwind Casino, Casino's up in tolls all over the state.
It's awesome. But I there's no sports gambling yet, so
I don't know. Oh, I don't think I could let

(46:57):
it ride, knowing their six figures there. But then if
it hits and it could be double it, you're just
gonna be kicking.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
Yourself, right exactly.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
And Draft Kings offers you money because they don't want
to take the risk of losing. I think I would wait.
I think I would wait until game five. But then if,
like say, the Oilers lose Game five, or even the
Thunder lose Game five, and suddenly you're in a situation
when that offer probably goes down quite a bit too, right,

(47:28):
because they don't feel like their risk is as much.
Scott Listen, I did not have this on the rundown tonight, Jake.
I was not prepared for this. I'm usually pretty good
on my feet, but this one has me flummexed right now.
I have no idea what I would do. I can
I phone a friend, where's Bernie at? Where's my lifeline at?
I don't know what I would do. I would spend
a lot of time, probably spending that one hundred plus

(47:51):
two hundred plus thousand dollars in my mind? Do you
do that? If? Do they have billboards in California for
the lottery to tell you how much the jack bought?
Is worthing? I spend that in my mind? Every single
time I drive by one like seven hundred million dollars,
i'd have a sweetened base.

Speaker 3 (48:07):
And I just like, don't even think that's like like
real like reality, Like that's just not realistic to me.

Speaker 1 (48:13):
But a parlay, like a parlay like this, right, we're
in thirteen bucks.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
That's amazing, just this far.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
Right, the investment To wait on it that long, you'll have.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
To see it all the way through.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
I think I'd let it ride. Yeah, I'd let it ride.
How long has this been out there? By the way,
How late am I to this story about it?

Speaker 2 (48:33):
Actually?

Speaker 3 (48:33):
Yesterday a coworker literally just told me yesterday.

Speaker 1 (48:36):
I don't like being too late to think. So here's
this article is from June eleventh, so that's not too
far removed. But yeah, okay, I'm I'm intrigued now, I am.
I am all in on the saga of one Binghamton
University grad and now I guess potential betting savant Drew

(49:03):
Hirshman like thirteen bucks. See this gives me hope as
a potential future gambler, Brie. Yeah, I mean all I
have to do is go, hey, babe, I can turn
thirteen dollars into two hundred and seventy thousand dollars if
this kid can do.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
It, exactly. It's it's that's hope. That's realistic to me.
That's a lottery. That the lottery is not real lottery.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
You don't look at as realistic, not at all. I
look at him like just a couple numbers, and then
when you go to actually look at what the numbers are,
you're like, yeah, no, one's.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
Gonna win this, No, not at all. Yes, yeah, fair question.

Speaker 1 (49:36):
I might throw this up on Twitter. See who's in,
see who's out. It's a big payday, man, it's a
big payday, all right. Mike the leprech Kahn, Welcome to
Fox Sports Radio. What's going on? Mike? How are you?

Speaker 14 (49:49):
Good morning? Could I be your lifeline?

Speaker 1 (49:53):
Well? What would you do? Would you would you go forward?
Or would you would you pay it out?

Speaker 14 (49:58):
I think they should cut their losses and just get
it up, because yes, I would use I would take
what I would toss in just I think it was
my house. Oh I have a new acoustic guitar.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
But anyways, Oh dude, so you're saying you wouldn't let
this ride for two hundred and seventy k. You'd get
the one hundred k plus? Why you could?

Speaker 14 (50:18):
I would, of course, I would take a bird. A
bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Speaker 1 (50:26):
I mean, a bird in hand is worth two in
the bushes. It's an old saying like throw the baby
out with the bathwater. Then no one really knows what
it means, but it just you know, well it doeses.

Speaker 14 (50:35):
That means if you do not a bird, I don't
have the parakeets. Oh my god, I have three parakeets.
But anyway, I can hold one of them in my hand.
I couldn't go out to the backyard right now, and
oh there you are. Yeah, so's it's a very bruised
mushroom right anyway.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
So a new acoustic guitar for you, huh?

Speaker 14 (50:56):
It's twenty five hundred bucks.

Speaker 18 (50:58):
Words?

Speaker 2 (50:59):
Is this for the bendlar Lala Palooza?

Speaker 14 (51:02):
No, this is for my kids. We just moved house.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
Okay, all right, well are you are you ready? Have
you got your act ready to go? For the Mallard Paloser.

Speaker 12 (51:15):
I've had the song, but I have to learn how
to play the u culearly.

Speaker 14 (51:18):
I actually capture running four hundred thousand last week with
my house.

Speaker 1 (51:22):
Jales, No, congratulations, Hey, I need to do one or
you think you can buy me one. It's a next
four grand. Weren't we just talking about a sponsorship for this, bree,
Maybe Mike the leprechn can buy it for him?

Speaker 14 (51:32):
This is this is Mayahili?

Speaker 12 (51:35):
And then want to.

Speaker 19 (51:35):
Bring my.

Speaker 12 (51:42):
Nay?

Speaker 14 (51:42):
Can I talk for us?

Speaker 1 (51:44):
I mean I was hoping that's what your point was
going to be tonight? What is this for the pacers?

Speaker 18 (51:50):
Sick up?

Speaker 14 (51:52):
I said in the background? Are you looking forward to
the Donald Trump for today?

Speaker 1 (51:58):
That's would be fun than anseled the one around They
were gonna do a military prayer around me where they
canceled it. So I don't know what I'm gonna do. Yeah,
I'll be watching it. I'm sure my son's at Fort
Bragg right now, so I don't know.

Speaker 14 (52:10):
I think it's it's better than watching what's happening in
the rest of the world, but a right or Los
Angeles for instance, and are you Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
I'm in Oklahoma, baby, I'm in God's country. I'm safe.

Speaker 14 (52:23):
So my daughter from Reno, she would do a baby
on the sixth of June, and the baby didn't pop.

Speaker 1 (52:30):
Out of the over here, my gun, You're going to
be a grandfather.

Speaker 16 (52:35):
I am for the first time.

Speaker 14 (52:36):
So when I go to the Malor in early July,
then I'm going to go to Vegas to the fair,
and then I'm going to swing by Reno. If the
baby pops out from God's sake.

Speaker 1 (52:48):
Well, congratulations in advance. I got anything else for tonight,
I do that.

Speaker 14 (52:54):
The NBA Finals are great. I'm loving them. I hope
the pacers run allike.

Speaker 1 (53:00):
Thanks to the phone call. Appreciate it. You hope the pacers.
When you'll get out of here. I think we gave.

Speaker 2 (53:06):
Enough time, right, Yeah, we covered everything we needed to cover.

Speaker 1 (53:11):
A bird in the hand is worth two in the
bush means it is better to keep something you already have,
even if it's not ideal, than risk losing it by
trying to find or get something potentially better. See, but again,
what the bush I mean?

Speaker 9 (53:33):
What is that?

Speaker 1 (53:34):
This is one of those that never made any sense
to me. I had a friend of mine that I
worked with and always say, man, you don't want to
throw the baby out with the bathwater on that and
when I was like, who's throwing bathwater out? It made
no sense. Never never made any sense to me. But
I hear it a lot. Well, Mike A Leprechaut, I
will tell you I thought that was one of your
better appearances on the program, though I didn't give him

(53:57):
enough time, probably to play as ukulele. You know, the
ukulele is a very hard instrument to learn how to play.
So good luck, my man, Good luck thunder win tonight.
What eleven one O four? They even the best of
seven series at two games apiece. They outscored Indiana thirty
one to seventeen in the fourth quarter. They won on
a twelve to one run over the final three minutes

(54:19):
and twenty seconds of the game. Afterwards, Mark Dagnault on
the performance of Shay Gildes Alexander.

Speaker 20 (54:26):
He's unreal. Obviously really closed that thing offensively. He and
dub you did a great job there, just execution wise.
The shot making He was outstanding, But I just thought
the whole team, you know, that was an uphill game
against a great team. I mean, this is one of
the best teams in the league in the last couple
months since All Star Break. They're a hard team to

(54:47):
beat here. They're a hard team to beat period, obviously,
So I thought we got it out on a night
where we really didn't have a lot going especially offensively.

Speaker 1 (54:54):
Okasee has only lost back to back games twice this year.
April fourth and April sixth, they lost to Houston in
LA and back in November they lost back to back
games to Dallas and San Antonio. They're eighteen and two
this year following a loss. That's a nine hundred winning percentage.
It's the best record after a loss since the eighty
six eighty seven Lakers. They also win tonight in a

(55:17):
game where they made the lowest amount of threes on
the season. They only made three and Chad fifteen of
its thirty five in the fourth quarter. Here's Tyreese Haliburton
on the frustration of this loss.

Speaker 10 (55:33):
That's frustrating, of course, you know you want to win
that game, you know, especially a game at home where,
like you said, you have to lead late, you know,
but that's.

Speaker 1 (55:41):
Not how they could.

Speaker 10 (55:41):
You crumbled today, you know, And so take a shower,
watch film, see where we can get better and be
ready to go for Game five. You know, I feel
like myself personally that could be a lot better for
us as a group. And you know, we've got to
get more stopped on the stretch. You know, seventeen point
fourth quarter, you know, for the offensive success we had
all game, I think is really you know, shows we

(56:02):
gotta do a better job moving the ball. And I
think that starts with me. So, yeah, we gotta be
ready to go game five. You know, I was obviously
going into a hostile environment. We gotta be ready to
play and uh, you know for us to uh to win,
we're gonna have to win one down there. So you
gotta be ready to go. And you know, we got
a couple days hit on this. Watch film, see we
can get better. Yeah, I'm excited about the challenge.

Speaker 1 (56:21):
I will say I know that Tyrese Haliburton takes a
lot of grief. What was it the athletic boy, you
guys had a cram down your throat. We've heard about
it or the most overrated player. Yes, stephen A. Smith
yelling and screaming, because that's what you guys want, talking
about how he's not a star player. I'd dig him, man.
I think he's awesome and he's a problem. Now. Did

(56:43):
I like a shot selection lay in that game?

Speaker 14 (56:45):
No?

Speaker 1 (56:45):
But he's been hitting no shots all season long, all
postseason long, so I don't think they're done by any
stretch of the imagination. I just am real excited and
intrigued as just a basketball fan to see what the
response looks like come Monday night. All right, quick break
back to your calls next eight seven, seven ninety nine

(57:05):

(57:55):
into the Fellas and Arnie is in and that insane
man put out the tweet to promote his show literally
at like noon today. He's a crazy person and I
love it. But are you ready? Have you had to
work with Arnie before, Brie?

Speaker 2 (58:14):
Yes, a few times?

Speaker 1 (58:15):
Okay, all right. I mean he sent out his tweet
for a show at five am in the morning, literally
at four o'clock in the afternoon. I mean, it's just
what it's like coming up, sitting coming off the bench, McFly.
It's like, yeah, like in twenty four what are you doing.

(58:37):
By the time you get on the air, your tweet
would have been ten hours old.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
It's good.

Speaker 3 (58:41):
Everybody's on the same page. And he wants to give
his fans like a heads.

Speaker 1 (58:45):
Up, like, hey, he does it all. He'll send me
a text. He'll send me a text like an hour
before the show. It's like you ready to go, Like, no,
I'm not. We have an hour before our show. I
want to take a few more. I want to watch games,
I want to listen to interview. I'm just he's a
crazy person, breeze, So just prepare yourself. Okay, Well, you
don't have to worry about cause he's not going to

(59:05):
acknowledge you or or know who you are.

Speaker 2 (59:09):
He'll forget. He forgets about me.

Speaker 1 (59:11):
Every time he forgets about every producer. Yeah, she's so
much better than everyone else. Oh you know what. I'll
tell you what. I'll tell you what. At eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine
six six three six nine, I see blind Scott as
on hold. And before we start diving into the NFL,

(59:32):
let's get blind Scott in here, because I like Blind
Scott in Boston. What's going on, Scott?

Speaker 18 (59:36):
How are you hey? Thanks Chris. That's really good for radio.
That Steven A. Smith's got that radio job at Series
Sex seven because they're going back to radio and putting
radio people back on radio nine.

Speaker 1 (59:49):
He's a radio guy.

Speaker 18 (59:50):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, not TV people. So that makes me
happy for radio. I'm you know, I'm Aniney Spaniard historian.
I'm he is. There's two types of radio people. There's
one that does intensive prep and has all their ducks
in a row. And then there's the other radio guy
who is the he has a gift to gab. He's
the reaction guy, and that's Heiny. He's the reaction guy,
and that's that's how I am in Radio two. But

(01:00:13):
with him, it's just like, oh my god, I've been
hearing it for years. It's the same takes and stuff.
You know, he's pretty good. I don't think he's on
the radio full time. I think that's his own choice.
I think he could work in the Boston market easily
if he wanted to. It's pretty close to it. But
I'll be looking forward to hearing him at five am.
Thanks for plugging him, because I would have shut I
would have shut it off. So I figured you parlay out. Yeah,
I figured out this parlay. So what you do is

(01:00:35):
you bet for the MVP to be on the Florida Panthers,
and you do a pilot through that, and then you
bet fifty thousand for the opposite team like the Panthers
to win, and then the Indiana PA Pacers to win,
and you can do secret pilots underneath that to head
your bet. That's what those two guys did the math
guy and it's on, you know, so they are going

(01:00:56):
to net a certain amount of money. We're just not
sure how much. Like what Brief says, you just gotta
let it ride. I mean, that's fine, but we all
need to eat, you know what I'm saying. Like, so,
if you let an opportunity like this pass, most likely
you might have another opportunity when you're twenty four years old.
But in life, there's only so many opportunities like this.
So if you could take one hundred grand right now, Hey,

(01:01:18):
I'm looking at the stock market right now, and just
roll it into Apple or Amazon and then I'd be
done with it, I wouldn't. I wouldn't even think about it,
you know. But what I got to say, though, is
about the Patriots, the New England Patriots right now, it's
too some hot knowing what Patriots talk. They go at
Josh McDaniels, Mike Rabel. They're already setting Josh McDaniels up
as the fall guy. You know, they're saying he ruined

(01:01:40):
Derek Carr as a quarterback. I guess maybe he did.
He was the head coach there, he wasn't the offensive coordinator.
But that's your team. I saw the other guy had
come in after it was named Antonio Pearson. Then he
then he coached the Raiders. I don't think he made
I don't think he made a difference. You know, they're
putting this bronze statue up of Tom Brady. It's going
to be on August eighth during a preseason game. I mean,

(01:02:01):
I don't really care about this, but it's revel to
here because he doesn't want to come to opening Day
at Patriots Patriots, at the new Patriots team. He wants
to own the Raiders. Now. I don't know how he's
going to own the Raiders. Maybe by manipulating Mark Davis,
maybe not. But I don't think he's necessarily doing good
job managing the Raiders right now. But if I have
Tom Brady in my office, I have high hopes that

(01:02:24):
the Raiders are going to be a lot better team
than by Tom Brady's saying he's going to let them
unveil their statue on August eighth in a preseason say game.
What that tells me is all tom Brady's focus is
on the Raiders, and I think that's great for you
as a Raiders fan. You know, but going to the
Oklahoma and Indiana Patriots series, you know, I had I
had some of the most fun in my life talking

(01:02:45):
to you leading up to that Oklahoma series because you
gave me so much content that I brought to other stations.
You know, I just I love these radios. I love
these talk radio guys that take phone calls. They drive
the content on radio, they drive the conversation. I mean,
I'm talking about you in the Boston market. We're talking
here on the overnights. You know, it's you know, it's
a great it's a great life here.

Speaker 14 (01:03:07):
You know.

Speaker 18 (01:03:07):
I grew up on an airports base on Cape cott
otis the airport base. My mom was in the military.
I'm from a very conservative military family, you know, and
you know that's why I'm the way I am. I
guess you know what I'm saying. I know people who
went to West Point that are listening right now. I
know people at Jeff Blue who had kids that go
to west Point that are listening right now. My neighbor
graduated from West Point. You know, I'm a big fan

(01:03:28):
of Chris Plank because I feel like I have a
lot in common and the guy. I have one more
question there's a Kansas State Fair or there's an Oklahoma
State Fair. One of them is pretty big. It's a
Kansas State Fair, right.

Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
Well, you know, technically, Scott, it's great to hear from you. Technically,
we got a couple of state fairs. Okay, I'm just
let's let's have some state fair talk.

Speaker 9 (01:03:46):
Here.

Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
There's the Oklahoma State Fair and then there's the Tulsa
State Fair. Now to me, I'm just saying, Tulsa State
Fair kind of a banger, good time, you know one
any of those rides, but the Oklahoma, the Tulsa State
Fair is my favorite. Never been to the Kansas State Fair, though,
I'm up for it. Got a lot of friends up north.

(01:04:09):
Gambling is legal in Kansas too. You can sports wager
Kansas arrival with Kansas. I think you're Canda Kansas now. Yeah,
but you need to move up north. Thank you, Blind Scott.
Appreciate the phone call. I think this TV ratings be damned.
If you guys don't want me fighting and talking about
how bad the TV coverage is, that's fine at the

(01:04:32):
core of it, though, this has been a very fun
NBA Finals. If you're not watching it because it's smaller
market teams. That's fine. I get it. I understand this
isn't sucking in the casuals, but I think it could.
I think it could. And the game tonight was awesome.
I mean, you got Indiana that gets out to the
hot start to under kind of reel them back in.

(01:04:53):
You got what a three point game at the half,
kind of feel like the Pacers are pulling away from him,
and boom, here comes the Oklahoma City run outscoreing thirty
one to seventeen in the fourth quarter. You got a
guy in chet Holmgren that is having that moment where
he kind of he looks like the dude doesn't miss
a free throw. Jalen Williams twenty seven points, jadab doesn't

(01:05:15):
miss a free throw. Shay Gilgess Alexander thirty five points,
doesn't miss a free throw. They you know, Rick Carlisle
said it only missed four free throws. Indiana missed eight.
And you can talk about the free throw discrepancy if
you want. It was a total of five free throws

(01:05:35):
that it was the difference. But when you miss eight
of them and then even late in the game, which
I found to be kind of fascinating. In one of
their best shooters in the free best shooters period in Mathern,
he can't make a free throw, and so even in
a moment where you thought the game might get a
little bit tight, he gotta kind of tap out because

(01:05:58):
of it. A couple of a couple of quick texts
that I want to get to here quickly, tweets. I
guess I should say soggy cassa Smith Plank. That's a
long call from Poppy. Painful to listen to. What caller?
Do you guys like? I like Poppy? I mean, hey,

(01:06:24):
at a Destroys fan, you're really not gonna like when
you catch up and hear Michael Lepercott's call, and then
Michael writes, I would take the offer, you would still
turn a big profit on the bet. So did you
catch what Scott was saying there that they hedged some
of the bets and what they were talking about the
big payoff with the taking the MVP and things of

(01:06:45):
that nature. It's fascinating. It's a world I'm not very smart,
and I'm gonna be honest with you. It's like, this
is where I need my lifeline. I need my professional gamblers,
I need my Todd Furman's of the world and my
Bernie Fratto's to help me out on that front. I'm
not a smart man when it comes to that. And
speaking of the Extender, obviously a lot of people have

(01:07:08):
done this work, but he's been mentioned as the guy
that you bring in to make sure that you can
extend a series. Now, if you went back to twenty
twenty one, trailing teams including tonight's game, are twenty two.

(01:07:30):
According to one stat was twenty and two in the
last twenty one. But this redditor went back and kind
of dug into it, and it's really not that one sided.
It was like twenty two to twenty one. So they
call him me Extender. But according to a redditor like

(01:07:54):
two weeks ago, the numbers in which trailing teams were
nineteen and two in the last twenty one games. It's
just not correct. So I don't I don't know where
those come from. I don't know if people, I don't
know if people are just kind of trying to buy

(01:08:15):
into a theory that's not there. But the great Extender
thing has been debunked. And I'm telling you what right now.
I saw it on Reddit, so that means it's gotta
be true, right, it was thunder Wolve's game whenever they're
down one zip. This kind of went back to all
the series that he's officiated in this year, which, by

(01:08:38):
the way, the team that was down did win one
of those three games. Now two of the four that
he's done with a team behind. But that's two and two.
I mean, it's not the I don't know where we
get these numbers from that are incorrect, the Great Extender
according to what not the numbers. But I will also

(01:08:58):
say I am counting on it Reddit post. That's true.
All right. When we come back, I'm a little bit behind,
and I feel like we've got some ground to make up.
When it comes to NFL talk. You guys have not
been all fired up to talk NBA with me on
the phones. And that's fine. That's this series. I get it.

(01:09:20):
We want to fight about it on Twitter, we want
to get into it on social media. But kind of
like the series itself and the buzz around it, there's
a few people that be like, oh, you don't talk
about the broadcast, about the NBA. You're talking about everything,
but nobody is wanting to talk about it. It's a
massive swing and amiss right now? Hey, what you guys

(01:09:42):
think about the way the game was officiated? Hey do
you hear about that better that's got a chance to
cash in for one hundred thousand dollars? Hey, how you
feeling overall about SGA looking like the MVP tonight? Just
catch Mike the Leprechaon's new ukulele. I mean, that's just
it's I'm failing miserably blind. Scott was there for me,

(01:10:03):
but on the phones, any conversation around the NBA and
specifically the Finals has been a big swing and a miss.
And I think we've had four awesome games, even Game
two that got a little bit away from Indiana down
the stretch, kept thinking they had a run in him.
It was a fun game back and forth. Do I

(01:10:24):
just have to accept, Brie, that all anyone seems to
care about in the NBA is trades and which coach
is going to be the next coach of the Knicks?
Is that where we are right now? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
And I think that's the big smaller market thing, right.
I think if if maybe the finals, if we had
two bigger markets, I'm sure we'd all be focused and
talking about the finals, and these things would be waiting
until like after the draft.

Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
But yeah, it's about I've got no defense.

Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
I've got no defense for it. But I will say
Charles Barkley might have hit it on the head tonight
whenever he said this on NBA TV.

Speaker 21 (01:11:05):
Yeah, I think they're in trouble because when you have
a team on the ropes, you got to finish them off.

Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
If you go up three to one, you in great shape.

Speaker 21 (01:11:13):
But now you go back, you know, Oklahoma City number
one got a better team. They got a better team.
Now they're back to their original starting lineup, which will
be better next game.

Speaker 1 (01:11:24):
Then they realize, like, man, it's a lot of shots
we got to play.

Speaker 21 (01:11:27):
We got to play our bench more. We get we're
back to the thing that got us to the NBA Finals.
We're gonna go back big big, We can dominate them
on the boards like we did, and they're going back
to Oklahoma City.

Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
I think I think this series is a rap. Maybe
that's what this is more than anything else. Maybe I
should turn this into a celebration for three hours tonight.
Welcome to my city, getting a ring before yours. Yeah,
let's go okay, see all right? Eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox eight seven, seven nine three sixth night

(01:12:01):
when we come back. I have tons of NFL notes
that we need to get to, and I know it's pooring.
I know it's pooring, but in the college football world
and in the college sports world, the house settlement went
through on Friday. I have two cuts that I want
to get to on this program tonight, and I think

(01:12:24):
it helps to tell a little bit more of a
story about why this has a chance to be successful,
because you already have lawsuits that are coming up against
it where track runners are saying they're not getting paid
fairly when no offense to track and field. But I
don't know if track and field is going to be
included in any of the rev shares anywhere, but here

(01:12:46):
we are, so we'll dive into that coming up a
little bit later on in the program. But the NFL
is next with a Plank Show right here on Fox
Sports Radio. All right, it's a Plank Show right here
on Fox Sports Radio Set nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine ninety six six three six nine. You can
stream this show and all of our Fox Sports Radio

(01:13:08):
shows alive twenty four to seven in a new and
improved iHeartRadio app. Just to search Fox Sports Radio. On
the app, you can stream us live and I kind
of dig this. One of the cool new features they
have in the app is you can select Fox Sports
Radio as one of your presets, just like the presets
on a radio dial. So be sure to preset Fox
Sports Radio in the iHeartRadio app and it will always

(01:13:30):
pop up on top of your screen. Breeze three coming
up next hour, So bring your your choice. I will
leave this up to you and mark you guys decide.
I have I have a couple of quick cuts on
the college sports house settlement this week. Now, I know,
I know it's probably not the biggest story going on

(01:13:52):
Fox Sports Radio. In fact, I don't know that. I've
heard many people talk about it. It's near and dear
to my heart because I'm a college sports fan and
I love college football, love it. But is it something
that we wait and if we run out of time,
we run out of time and we hit the NFL here,
or do we try to go ahead and shoehorn this
in here real quick? College college is what you say.

Speaker 2 (01:14:15):
Forrie, Yep, let's shoehorn it.

Speaker 1 (01:14:17):
Let's gee horned in real quick. Okay, this week probably
one of the more debated and controversial moments took place
in the world of college sports history. Universities can now
pay student athletes directly. It is called the House Settlement.

(01:14:38):
If you opt in as a progroom, that means over
twenty million dollars for each athletic department can be shared
amongst as many sports as you want. You don't have to. Oklahoma,
for instance, six sports will take part in rev sharing
six sports. Now we'll know the percentage a little bit
later on, but for the most part, it's been like

(01:14:59):
eighty percent to football, maybe something like eight to ten
percent for men's basketball, and then you know the split
up between your other four to five sports or under
the rev share umbrella. Nil is now going to be
more regulated. So when you see these stories about guys

(01:15:21):
like Bryce Underwood getting twelve million dollars to play for
the University of Michigan, now those days, for the most part,
are done. I don't see Michigan or any other school
committing that kind of money to a quarterback. But we'll
see under rev sharing Inile is still there, but it's
gonna be highly regulated according to the House Settlement and

(01:15:43):
according to no longer the NCA, the college Sports Commission,
if you believe that. But this week. This week my
buddy Dusty de Vorchek, who does a show on serious
SEXIM had a chance to talk to who I think
is one of the smartest people when it comes to

(01:16:06):
kind of understanding these things. And it's you, again, someone
smarter than me, someone who I think we can try to.
That's Michael mccamnon. And so there is this one angle
to this that nobody's talking about that I think can
make all the difference in the world, and that is arbitration.

(01:16:27):
I was not aware that there was an arbitration clause,
which might be the only positive thing I've heard about
the House settlement. So here's cut number one on arbitration.

Speaker 13 (01:16:38):
Yeah, Dandy, I actually think I miss the NCAA, or
at least the College Sports Commission, And nil GO is
in a better position to repel lawsuits because there's an
arbitration provision and that hasn't gotten that much attention.

Speaker 11 (01:16:53):
But I think is a key thing because basically, if
an athlete's deal is rejected by nil GO, and then
the athlete says, a wait a second, you can't reject it,
this is unfair, it goes to arbitration, and arbitration is
really really hard to challenge in court. So basically judges

(01:17:13):
look at arbitration proceedings and say, we're going to defer
to what the arbitrator found. So that is a huge factor.
It doesn't mean there won't be lawsuits, but it makes
going to court a lot tougher for the athlete and
also for the lawyer. The lawyer has to make it calculus. Lawyer,
I say, do I want to spend time on this?
If I'm going to try to it's an uphill battle

(01:17:35):
to go up against arbitration. So I think that's actually
a fact. It was a smart move by the drafters
of the settlement to include this arbitration provision. To me
that that was a really intelligent decision.

Speaker 1 (01:17:48):
So, in other words, when one of those nil deals
gets shot down because it's viewed as paid for play,
you would have to go through arbitration, which makes it
more possible that it could stand up. But what does
that process look like, is Michael mccannon one final quick thought.

Speaker 11 (01:18:06):
Yes, So what it does is it preempts the lawsuit.
So if that athlete sues in that scenario, the judge
will say you're bound by arbitration because you're part of
this class settlement and you're a member of it, and
there's an arbitration provision.

Speaker 18 (01:18:21):
So at that.

Speaker 11 (01:18:21):
Point that lawsuit gets kicked out of court.

Speaker 1 (01:18:25):
There you go. So I hope short, long story short,
Maybe not, But as this process plays out, there's going
to be legal challenges. The whole idea behind the House
Settlement is to try to keep college sports out of courts.
Now you have people challenging it right now, mostly female athletes.
It's saying it's not fair with the way Title nine

(01:18:48):
is laid out. It's supposed to be more balanced, but
we all know in reality, nothing in college sports has
ever been balanced. Nothing has, regardless of how hard you try.
So I've going back and forth on this. I'm going
with positive attitude from here on out. I think it's
gonna work in the short term. We'll see the long
term challenges. Look like jokistig leone at the University of Oklahoma,

(01:19:11):
they just had a Board of Regents meeting on Thursday,
and I thought it was really telling what he said.
It's like, we got a plan if this thing works
out and the House Settlement sticks, and we got a
plan if it doesn't, and I think that's the smart
way to go about it. And everything has to be fluid.
I mean, hell, we're sitting here talking about a new
way of doing business in college sports because the new

(01:19:35):
new way that they were doing it was just to
I guess the term would be crooked, maybe to one sided.
So now they're trying to fix it, and they're trying
to put the toothpaste back in the two. We still
don't know how many teams are going to be in
the playoffs. We still don't know what the transfer portal's
gonna look like. There's all kinds of other problems, but
for now, it looks like they have the rev sharing
piece figured out. But the keyword is for now. Don't

(01:19:59):
listenin no Fox Sports Radio Radio. All right, we're cooking
final Hour. It's the Plank Show right here on Fox
Sports Radio. We can fit a few calls if you
guys want to jump in here at eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six
six three sixs Now. We got Breeze three coming up,

(01:20:20):
We've got the Plank Parlay, and we got the best
pregame show every weekend with Countdown coming up here shortly.
I guess I can say Countdown presented by bet MGM.
That's every Saturday and Sunday morning from nine a to
noon Eastern and six to nine am Pacific time. We'll
count you down all the biggest games. Tune into Countdown

(01:20:40):
presented by bet MGM every Saturday and Sunday morning right
here on Fox Sports Radio in the I Heart Radio app.
Thank you guys for giving me like a quick little segment.
I even got Craig hit me up on Twitter and writes,
the NCAA settlement situation. Can you say salary cap. Yes,
there will be lawsuits. Unfortunately, too many complaints from teams

(01:21:00):
who can't compete with the power schools. It has to
be fair, right. See that's the thing too. You had
a choice to opt in or not, and I personally,
I'm very in. I was very negative on this, very
negative on it. But the more I learned about it,
I'm gonna give it a chance. I'm gonna give it
a chance. Last night, Thunder even the best of seven

(01:21:24):
series at two games apiece with a pretty dramatic fourth
quarter comeback. They outscored the Indiana Pacers by fourteen points
in the fourth quarter and end of the game. On
a twelve to one run. Over the final three minutes
and twenty seconds.

Speaker 22 (01:21:41):
LANs launched the thirty five foot three It's off and
that's it. The Thunder have come to Indianapolis and got
miss what they needed after losing game one, calling in
game three, they do it again six and oh their
record in the playoffs when coming off of a loss.
They remain unscathed and unbeaten. There and they rally from
ten down on the road in a game in which

(01:22:02):
they made eight few or three pointers than the Pacers
to win by a one.

Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
To eleven to one oh four count. Afterwards, the MVP
Shay Gilgess Alexander said, they knew this was a must
win for the moment they woke up, knew when we
woke up this morning. Three one is a lot different
than two two. Going back home.

Speaker 21 (01:22:19):
We played our desperations in the game and that's why
we won.

Speaker 7 (01:22:22):
We got to try to maintain the same desperation going
into game five, Game six, whatever.

Speaker 18 (01:22:26):
It may be.

Speaker 1 (01:22:27):
Uh and let's see. Ben Mallor has always taught me
the best story is in the loser's locker room. So
here is Rick Carlisle on how Indiana was unable to
get their tempo going in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 9 (01:22:43):
Yeah, we got stagnant.

Speaker 8 (01:22:45):
Their second shots were a big problem when you were
unable to rebound. You know, it's hard to continue to
play with pace and tempo. I haven't looked at the
at the end of the game yet, so.

Speaker 1 (01:22:54):
I don't have the blow by blow for you. But
give them credit.

Speaker 8 (01:22:57):
You know, they kept attacking, kept attacking, and their defense
was great down the stretch.

Speaker 1 (01:23:02):
All right, Brie, let's put some final thoughts, at least
from our perspective. We spent the better part of the
show tonight talking about it. You agree with Charles Barkley,
is a series over? You give Indy any chance to
get back get an edge on Monday night? What do
you think happens in the final three games of this series?
Do we even play three more games?

Speaker 18 (01:23:24):
I do.

Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
I still think that it's going to go to seven.
I think Indy will take Game five, and.

Speaker 1 (01:23:31):
Oh you think Indy's going to win in Okay? See,
I deal.

Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
I think just both these teams are really good at adjustments,
Like I especially you were those stats who were saying before,
like they just don't lose back to back. So I
think they're super good about looking at film and figuring
out how to adjust, and I think that's been a
constant through the playoffs for both teams. So that's just
my opinion. So I and I think, yeah, so that's

(01:23:57):
kind of where I'm at. But then at the other side,
I'm like, but then also I could see, okay, see
winning out because if their bench players step up. Also
going back to like their original lineup, was that their
original lineup the.

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
Too big, too big? Yes, it's like, what.

Speaker 8 (01:24:11):
Are we doing?

Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
Like that was they should have just done that all series.

Speaker 1 (01:24:14):
Well, And I don't know the why behind it. Mark
Dagnault's very good at not telling you much, but I
think there is something to be said about being worried,
worried about the pace that Indiana can play with, and
I think that was one of the reasons. And to
be fair, to be fair, you know, Chet was hurt

(01:24:36):
a lot this year, so you know, the two big
lineup was still something that they hadn't had a chance
to play with a ton But in the end they
found a way, and I think that, you know, they
it's for some reason they went away from it, you know,
Case and Wallace got to start a couple of starts,
and it just didn't didn't make a lot of sense

(01:24:58):
to me by the work, Like.

Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
Both teams have a way of losing focus because Andy
gets out and it's great, and then they blow it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:08):
So it's because it's two to two.

Speaker 4 (01:25:11):
You know, everyone says, okay, see, what's going to win
the better team blah blah blah. But then the Pacers
would win the first game, and so the okay, see
has to you know, get it back together. And I'm
sure then I got it back to too, So they
both have a way of losing focus and losing a game.

Speaker 1 (01:25:30):
I'll tell you this much, Mark, I don't know if
I've ever seen a team do more stupid things than
Indiana seems to do in this series. It's mind boggling.
But they're even up a two and we'll see. Yeah,
here's the other part of it with the two bigs,
And this is just maybe my take. Isaiah Hartenstein has
kind of sucked. I mean, I don't know how else
to put it. He just hasn't been very good. Now.

(01:25:52):
He was okay tonight, but he was a minus seven.
I think he was the only Thunder player. Oh I'm sorry.
He and Case and Wallace were the only two plays,
and the red and plus minus and I don't I
don't put too much on plus minus, right, it's again,
I think it's a fair indicator of how your team
performed when you were in the game. But he made

(01:26:13):
some big play. Guy, he grabbed six boards and that's
where that's where Okase made their Hey tonight, they out
rebounded Indiana by ten and the Pacers missed eight free throws.
You look at ten extra opportunities and you look at
eight missed freebies, and let's say you make six of those. Okay,

(01:26:33):
it's a one point game, you know, It's just it's
it's wild to see how badly Indiana shot themselves in
the foot at the free throw line. Okay, before we
get to all my NFL notes, I see our leadoff
hitter is jumping in late tonight. We moved them down
in the lineup. Is this what happened here, Bree?

Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
Yeah, he's our closer now.

Speaker 1 (01:26:50):
Yeah you are. You went from you went from the
leadoff guy to the closer tonight. Steven Case, see what's
going on, buddy, closer?

Speaker 16 (01:26:59):
Now you got to give me a couple a couple
hours for the celebration of the new dynasty beginning. Man, tonight,
tonight is the night I think, I think we just
saw it.

Speaker 14 (01:27:10):
We just met.

Speaker 16 (01:27:10):
Not people may not recognize it, but that that stretch
to the fourth quarter is the beginning of a ten
year Okac dynasty. But we better, we better get used
to it. I would well, I want to give flowers
to Caruso. Man, I was waiting for the Caruso explosion
to happen. And you and I watched this every every

(01:27:31):
other night. So so once once Caruso started, he's sort
of liked the spark plug. And once he starts turning
this thing on, then Indiana's done. So so just just watch,
just watch for that. For sure, I had to get
a little, a little celebration time in.

Speaker 18 (01:27:49):
Now we'll get on.

Speaker 16 (01:27:52):
Now we'll get onto serious things like Sydney Sweeney's batsoap
selling for sixteen hundred dollars online. And I mean I,
in a moment of weekness, I would pay eight dollars
for for the pine soap. But I don't know who.
I'm kind of worried for people that would that would
sell that that amount where they would part with that

(01:28:13):
amount of money for for baths of bath soap that
that sort of messed with my question for three years, Uh,
would you would you pay?

Speaker 14 (01:28:23):
We?

Speaker 16 (01:28:23):
Would you pay eight dollars and then resell the bath soap.
And I'm also very concerned about about Travis Kelsey and
skipping a mini camp and going to the NHL Finals
with Taylor Swift. I think she's a very bad influence
on Travis. I think they're probably married already, judging from this,

(01:28:46):
judging from this wedding in Tennessee where they have a
place card and they were had a married they had
a married name. So I think Travis is probably done.
I think we've probably got guys to replace him. But
is she going to become I'm the Yoko Ono of
the of the Chiefs if we don't win the Super
Bowl every year because of this, because she's going to

(01:29:08):
the NHL. I mean, this is serious. I mean it's
an optional mini camp, but this is this is football,
this is you should be It's the last day of
mini camp.

Speaker 18 (01:29:18):
I know it's the last.

Speaker 16 (01:29:20):
Day, but they're sitting there boozing up, partying at the
NHL Stanley Cup Stanley Cup Finals and the rest of
your team is working hard sweating. It doesn't, it doesn't say,
it doesn't give a good example to I'm just calling calling.

Speaker 1 (01:29:40):
I hear you. Okay, thanks for the call, Steve. I
appreciate it, buddy. All Right, Well let's start with the
last part. First, Travis Kelce out of Florida Panthers game
instead of the last eight mini camp. Let's remember, this
is a guy that's going into his what thirteenth, fourteenth

(01:30:01):
season in the league. So I think he's kind of
been allowed thirteen seasons. Sorry, he's allowed a couple of things,
you know, three times super Bowl champ. Now I'm a
Raiders fan, Okay, So I'm all about the Yoko Ono
nature of what Taylor Swift could mean to this Chief's dynasty.

(01:30:23):
But it's not like they just started dating. I mean,
they've been around each other for a while. Mark, I'll
start with you. Do you have a problem with Travis
Kelsey missing the last day of mini camp? See, I
didn't even know this was a thing to go to
a hockey game with his girlfriend, who Steve thinks is
his wife.

Speaker 4 (01:30:41):
Now, enjoy your free time, go to his mini game.
Just goat with your friends and go with your honey.
Just have time away, and you know you can eventually
get back to working on your football.

Speaker 1 (01:30:55):
Okay, Bree, do you have a problem with this.

Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
No, he's thirty five. He's already been talking retirement.

Speaker 3 (01:31:00):
The less that he's doing off off season workouts and stuff,
the better he can just save his energy and time
for the regular season.

Speaker 1 (01:31:10):
Thirteen year vet, I wish.

Speaker 2 (01:31:14):
I wish he want her to be the Yoko Ah
so bad. She's a way better voice.

Speaker 1 (01:31:20):
Man, she does have Yoko being on that front. I
think you're gonna be okay. I still think my favorite
Travis kelce story is that he told everyone his name
was pronounced Kelse and we were all like, nah, you're
Travis Kelcey. I mean he literally went out, both he
and Jason Kelsey. I think it was. I think it
might have been on Pat McAfee show. He's like, yeah,

(01:31:42):
you know, our last name is actually Kelse and it
was like, Yeah, that's great, Travis Kelcey, You're not gonna
do that. The earlier question. Now, I Sidney Sweeney's been
in the news a lot because she's playing Christy Martin
in the In the Boxer movie, But I was not
aware that apparently her bast Bathwater soap is being priced

(01:32:02):
at eight dollars, but on eBay, the price of the
limited edition item goes for as much as three hundred
and forty five dollars, with one listing having the price
of the soap at seven hundred and ninety nine dollars.
Is this real? Or am I falling like for an
ai thing here? Brie?

Speaker 14 (01:32:21):
Ah?

Speaker 3 (01:32:22):
That sounds real because I mean I know people were
like freaking out over her just using that as selling it,
so I could totally like It's like, how much were
those o tawny bobbleheads going for?

Speaker 16 (01:32:35):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I see what you're saying. Okay, I
think I am. I like to fancy myself an investor
slash businessman, though ask me how many investments I have? Zero?
But I think this is one that I would be
willing to invest in.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
Are you serious?

Speaker 1 (01:32:53):
Give me some bathwater for eight bucks? Turn around on eBay,
make three hundred and forty dollars on it. That is
one hell of a percentage in crease, one hell of
a percentage in grease, for goodness sakes.

Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
But you'll always have you'll always know that you spent
eight dollars right on on bathwater so on, bathwater sop Like,
I mean, if you could live with that, then I'm
all for it. I could never live with myself after
purchasing that. I'd be like, I'd have to take like
a long hard look in the mirror and be like.

Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
Why what what am I doing here?

Speaker 3 (01:33:24):
Yes, Like, if you can think back to like one
of your craziest purchases, I mean it's like hard, not
that it like stays with you.

Speaker 1 (01:33:32):
You know what. The craziest thing that I've done purchase
wise wasn't even a purchase. I saw one of those
massive when you go to a game and they'll have
those coolers that have water in them or beer in them,
and they just these huge like coolers. I saw one
sitting outside of the stadium and I was like, I'm
taking that home with me because it was broken, right,

(01:33:52):
you could tell it was broken. So I took it
home with me. I plugged it in, I got like working,
I was feeling really good, and I had to sitting
outside of our ground like massive, you know, these big
rectangular things. I'm so proud of it. My wife will
by shows get rid of that. So I would have
could you imagine what the response would be if like
Bathwaters shows up from Sidney Sweeney, would that even come
from Amazon? Like I would it be clandestine packaging? I

(01:34:16):
don't know. Probably talk to you.

Speaker 2 (01:34:18):
It's creepy. By the way, it's not even.

Speaker 1 (01:34:21):
Real by Arnie Spaniel is just now getting up and
sending me tweets that we've been talking about for the
last three hours. Thanks Arnie, Welcome to the program. He's
sitting in with Anthony Gargano coming up here next. Okay,

Speaker 1 (01:35:43):
All right, it is the Plank Show here on Fox
Sports Radio. I did laugh at this tweet real quick
from a Destros fan. Oh, he had jumped in on
the DMS earlier. He was not happy with the call
from Poppy earlier, which I thought was pretty good. Plank

(01:36:05):
desperately misses his basketball savant radio partner Arnie Spanier. He's
not getting the NBA analysis that he hoped from his
sloppy second Ben Mallard callers, True, I'm not getting my
NBA analysis I wanted tonight, man. I thought we'd be
all over it. We're not. Now we are the royal
We are not Mark is Brie obviously? Is I kind

(01:36:27):
of am? Callers kind of hurt me tonight. You make
me never want to talk about the NBA again, which
is why I'm just this is going to now become
an NFL show from here to four. But we know
this much. The true star of this program is Brianna
Murr and his time for Breeze three, not.

Speaker 19 (01:36:45):
One, not two, but three. It's entertainment. It's good. It's
Breeze three.

Speaker 1 (01:36:56):
Oh and by the way, Arnie is in with Anthony
gark Ghano coming up next. What's going on, bree What
do we have today in Breeze three?

Speaker 3 (01:37:06):
Al right, So, staying on the Kelsey train, there was
a Philadelphia Eagles fan who got a tattoo of Jason
Kelsey and he was posing like a little little nakedy
you know, yes, yeah, I'm looking.

Speaker 2 (01:37:25):
Please look look it up.

Speaker 3 (01:37:28):
Oh okay, it's a little odd. It's a little odd.
And so you know what is the word for.

Speaker 1 (01:37:34):
I'm going to read it, by the way, to look
at this, and it says mature content.

Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
Oh yeah, okay, yes, I know.

Speaker 1 (01:37:40):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
I'm on my work computer and I'm stair. Okay, well
it's football, it's fine. So anyways, so I was thinking,
where does the word fan come from? Obviously fanatic, right
of course. So I was thinking, if you had, if
you had to get three tattoos your favorite kind of

(01:38:01):
like sports teams, logos, players, YadA, YadA, what would you get? Okay,
So this, obviously, this crazy fan got Jason kelce and
like was very very thorough and specifical.

Speaker 14 (01:38:15):
So we.

Speaker 1 (01:38:17):
Have to describe this tattoo if you haven't seen it yet,
it is basically Jason Kelcey without a shirt on. He's naked,
He's completely naked, and it's he's he's down on his
knees and one arm is behind his head, the other
is on his leg and instead of like his man parts,

(01:38:39):
it's an eagle that's coming out of there. So it
is insane. Jason Kelsey's tweet set. I'm not sure if
I should be offended or flattered. I think you're right,
Jason Kelsey, I don't know how to feel either anyway,
Go ahead, breeze. So we're talking about what you would
want tattooed on you.

Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
Yes, if you had to get something that was like
sports related, you had to get it, you had to
get three tattoos or just went to but you had
three options. Is something sports related like your team or whatever. Okay,
so my first one I've been pretty basic for me.

Speaker 2 (01:39:12):
I did the flour de lee obviously like the Saints.

Speaker 3 (01:39:15):
Yes, and actually that is really something I have really
contemplated getting, So this is very like true.

Speaker 1 (01:39:20):
To I just had to Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:39:23):
No, I still got to wait a year to get
the stench out, you know, so that you know, we'll
wait that. So then my second one would be like
like the orange and gray like Steve Nash jersey, because
my dad and I both love that jersey, but like
the with the Nash thirteen and like white, and I

(01:39:43):
would get like.

Speaker 2 (01:39:44):
A small little que one and I maybe put it
on my wrist. I think that's kind of cute.

Speaker 3 (01:39:48):
Okay, that specific color scheme, the orange and the gray.
That's like one of my favorite Sun's jerseys. And then
my last one is I would get the number nine
and then yes.

Speaker 2 (01:40:02):
And then and within the bottom of.

Speaker 3 (01:40:06):
The nine, I would get breeze incursive kind of going
up into the number, kind of within the number.

Speaker 2 (01:40:14):
Oh good, and then it's kind of the.

Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
Circle of the nine I'd put the flour to Lye
so it would be kind of like a little mix
of a combo.

Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:40:25):
So, yes, So I went two Saints and like a
Steve Nash, and I went like a little specific and
a little bit more colorful. No naked guys, I mean,
Kyle Kuber.

Speaker 2 (01:40:34):
Yeah, it's just not my jam.

Speaker 18 (01:40:35):
I'm not.

Speaker 3 (01:40:36):
That's just not my style of tattoos. I have a few,
and just naked dudes just really aren't my style.

Speaker 1 (01:40:41):
Yeah, I guess here's here's my thought on this one,
because I can't stop looking at this picture, like what
in when the tattoo artist is doing this? Does he not?
A couple of times? Like, Bro, you sure about this?
Is this what you you want? Basically downstairs to be
the Eagles head and you want Jason Kelcey, Man, it's

(01:41:02):
what I want. It's like I don't to each their
own to each their own, all right, Mark, what'd you
go with? I'm sure there's a Bear's logo in here somewhere, right, Yes,
I'll be number two.

Speaker 4 (01:41:12):
So I'm pretty lucky with my sports teams black Hawks logo,
the Bears logo, and I could have the Bulls on
also and those are the three, but one extra one
for honorable mention. I would get either piano keys or

(01:41:33):
a tattoo of Space ghosts armbands on my arm the
way I look like Space got so the little buttons
on my arms would be what I would do. So
either piano keys or the Space ghost sort of logo
on my arm.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
You're lucky with all the Chicago teams are.

Speaker 4 (01:41:53):
So cool, so lucky, I mean, way way back. I
would even consider the Chicago Staying soccer team logo, but
that's along on a long log it's because it's black
and yellow and the whole thing with the bee with
its teeth showing. But other than that, black Hawk's logo,

(01:42:13):
Bear's logo and the bulls logo.

Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
So those are my three.

Speaker 1 (01:42:16):
Do you know what was a great logo that if
you would have talked to Chris Plank thirty years ago,
whenever he was a younger, lad, you bring up the
Chicago sting the Saint Louis Steamers. Look it up. It's
a great logo now I know. Anymore you would hear Steamers,
Oh my god, what the heck was that? But it

(01:42:37):
was a MISL Major North Soccer League teams. Great logo,
great log Darryl Duran. Their goalie was Slobo Ilievsky. Don't
ask me how I remember that. I have no idea whatsoever.
It's locked in. But I don't think that would be
my tattoo.

Speaker 11 (01:42:53):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:42:54):
Listen as somebody who sat in a tattoo chair preparing
to get his fraternity letters tattooed on his ankle and
then panicked and got out of the chair. I do
not have ink on me, so this would be my
first tattoo that I got. Come on, man, I gotta
get the Raiders logo right. Yes, it's the only thing

(01:43:14):
that's been with me from day. It would be a
Raider's logo. And I'm a Los Angeles guy at heart,
but I'm a hay Seed in reality. I patrick be
just great. So give me a Raider's logo. I gotta
go with the interlocking like La and you know, my
whole professional life, most of my I should say professional life.

(01:43:36):
I would want like my alma Modern but TU there
the University of Tulsa. Beware of the Mighty Golden Hurricane.
There's a hurricane warning. But I think I'd have to
turn it to O you, or at least maybe I
don't know if anyone was more impactful on me as
a media dude than Baker Mayfield. So I'd probably go

(01:43:58):
with like a six, so that way it could fit right.
And six isn't a big number in my life in
my world, but Baker war six, and I think that
number should be retired at Oklahoma. But I don't think
we retire numbers at Oklahoma. But to me, it would
be something with Baker Mayfield. He was just, dude, you
don't have guys that go to colleges and start three

(01:44:21):
years at the same place and are there for four anymore.
It just doesn't happen.

Speaker 2 (01:44:24):
Doesn't happen.

Speaker 1 (01:44:25):
That happened.

Speaker 3 (01:44:27):
Going back to Baker, I was just thinking, like, you
want to be a really cool outline of him doing
the flag, putting the flag in the middle of the field.

Speaker 2 (01:44:33):
That would be really cool, tattoo.

Speaker 1 (01:44:35):
You know, great story about that. We I do the
postgame show, I do the sideline reports for a you
football and obviously Oklahoma just won a huge twenty seventeen.
That just won a huge game at Ohio State. I'll
never forget doing his segment with Mark Willard. Mark Willard

(01:44:56):
and it was the most what's the word I'm looking
for here, condescending conversation I've ever had with anyone. I mean,
I sometimes try to go find Now, you guys aren't
gonna win this game tonight, so what is a good
game for you? I'm like, Mark, I think we're gonna
win the game tonight. Oh please, come on, You're not
gonna win the game tonight. You know. Colomba won the
game And I'll never forget that. We were Teddy Layman

(01:45:20):
and I Oklahoma legend former Detroit lyon. We were down
in the hallway waiting for Lincoln Riley because we had
the coaches interview, and Ted turns to me and goes,
I think Baker Mayfield just did something crazy. I'm like, oh, no, what,
And so we kind of because we had to get
to the locker room right, we had to be there
first talk to coach. And I missed it. I missed

(01:45:41):
the flag plant and everything. Yes, missed that. Terrible job
on my part. It was history and I'm sitting there
waiting in the hall to talk to him is what
I'm doing. But it was it was a cool moment,
What a great experience. Man, Columbus. I know that you're
mad about it, and I think it's kind of BS
and others have tried to emulated. But what an awesome,

(01:46:02):
awesome game day environment. But yeah, give me the six
anything else that was near the the make it or
or Take it list for you on the the tattoo world?
Are you sure you didn't want a four.

Speaker 2 (01:46:17):
With the middle finger in the middle.

Speaker 1 (01:46:18):
Middle finger with a four? Hey man, he saved you
guys thirty million dollars, So there is that, Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:46:22):
Can I just say I think that was just like
a good little way to start his new career into
like the church world of like, hey, look at this
good deed that I did, and now you should hire me.
And look at I'm gonna take over this church in
the middle of inenture account.

Speaker 1 (01:46:34):
She's gonna build his own church.

Speaker 2 (01:46:36):
What he can probably do with all that money? It's
the Dodgers logo.

Speaker 1 (01:46:41):
I love the La logo for the Dodgers. I really do.

Speaker 2 (01:46:44):
Yes, that would have that was my I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
Think I would want to do anything, Okay, see like
the thunder. I just I don't know though, but I
am all in right, I'm on this bandwagon.

Speaker 2 (01:46:55):
Maybe I should be cool.

Speaker 1 (01:46:57):
Yeah, that'd be pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (01:46:58):
She just does that that love with his number in between.

Speaker 1 (01:47:01):
That'd be pretty cool. Yeah, but I I also know
are you? Are you inked up at all? Bree?

Speaker 3 (01:47:06):
I do I have three tattoos? I think I said
I had two. I have three. Yeah, it's super tiny,
cute ones. But I want like one more and then
I'll have one on each part of my limb.

Speaker 1 (01:47:17):
Okay, I think I would go with just a sleeve
of Spencer Rattler. That's what I think.

Speaker 2 (01:47:22):
I oh, the rattlesnake, I could do that.

Speaker 1 (01:47:27):
There you go, right?

Speaker 2 (01:47:29):
I love this much. This is too much. I'm having
way too much fun. That's too good.

Speaker 1 (01:47:34):
Any anything else you want to add mark on tats?
Are you good? No, that's that's good. I'm done. No
no ink for me. I just had to do it
because three braz three, I'm inkless. I've wanted to. Uh,
if I liked my wife, I would probably do something
like with my wife on it. But I would probably

(01:47:54):
you know, David Wells had the pictures of his kids
that he had tatted on his arms. I don't think
I could do that. I'm probably their name or something right,
date of birth. I think I know what the date
of birth of my kids is I can you get
the month? I can get the month. I can't give
you the exact day, and.

Speaker 2 (01:48:12):
You get the year I get.

Speaker 1 (01:48:15):
I get the month. Okay, hold on, let me try. Yes, well,
I know that one of the kids was born in March,
one in September, and one December September.

Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
Yea, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:48:27):
That's my emma Emma's and see, I can't even tell
you she's sixteen. She's turning seventeen in September. I had
one just turn eleven in March. I think it's March,
might be May March. See, I can't do this then,
oh yeah, wow, my son, my son had just turned
twenty one. All right, listen, I got some NFL stuff.

(01:48:50):
Alreadie quit sending me tweets. We've been talking about it
all night long. You're late to the show. I need
my phone for this segment. Stop it. You talk about
it on your program that's coming up in that. But
we've been talking about it all night long. In the meantime.
This was Mini camp week pre this was Mini Camp
week mark. This is where all these stories start to
develop about quarterback controversies, potential battles and holdouts. So I've

(01:49:15):
got one too. I got four stories I want to
fit in here. Let's do two here, we'll break and
put two to wrap it up before the plank parlay
number one. I don't know how George Pickens is gonna
work in Dallas, but I know this much. Dak Prescott
is already wearing me out. Uh. He's already got a
nickname for George Pickens. Oh and it's so so creative.

Speaker 9 (01:49:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 23 (01:49:37):
I don't think that's why you should ever really listen
to what somebody else says about somebody. I think you
should judge everyone for not judge, but find out for
yourself who they are and allow them to reveal them
they their character to you.

Speaker 9 (01:49:48):
The guy, he's been great.

Speaker 23 (01:49:49):
He's been phenomenal as a guy that loves football, loves
his teammates. He's been excited every day that he's been there.
He's been early, so no concerns on the personal matters
of and anything about it.

Speaker 9 (01:50:01):
Just super excited that he's on our team.

Speaker 23 (01:50:03):
He's one of us, and he's a brother, and he's
about continuing to grow and making sure that we're putting
the best out there.

Speaker 9 (01:50:07):
And that's his approach.

Speaker 1 (01:50:09):
I think the most ridiculous nickname is just referring to
someone by their initials. How you feel about George Pickens, y'all, man,
GP's been great? What? Yeah, GP's been awesome. Kay come
up with something better than his initials. But I guess
the buzz out of Cowboys Camp is that the Schottenheim

(01:50:31):
or Prescott pairing has gone pretty well. And in fact,
Dak was even asked about his legacy this week.

Speaker 9 (01:50:37):
I want to win a championship, the legacy of the things.

Speaker 23 (01:50:39):
Whatever comes after I've finished plan, we'll take care of itself.
Be damned if it's just for my legacy or for
it's for this teams, for my personal being and for
my sanity.

Speaker 9 (01:50:49):
Yeah, the legacy will take care of itself. I have
to stay with my fido.

Speaker 1 (01:50:53):
Who is asking Dak Prescott a legacy question? Brie? What
are we doing in the day where I love? We
have the greatest affiliate in Dallas. Our affiliate in Dallas
might be the best radio station on the planet.

Speaker 2 (01:51:06):
Who in the world.

Speaker 1 (01:51:07):
Is asking Dak about his legacy? And how quickly can
we make that person's press pass.

Speaker 3 (01:51:12):
I'll take legacy questions over. Dak went fifteen for fifteen
and OTAs and had two interceptions and four touchdowns. Talk
about legacy, talk about your surgery, talk about your three kids.
I'll take that over what you did in OTAs.

Speaker 1 (01:51:29):
Junior Shaudor Sanders went like four for six, Oh my god,
one hundred and twelve yards on those four passes against
care Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:51:36):
No, that makes me crazy. I'll take the legacy talk
over that.

Speaker 1 (01:51:40):
Okay. Do we have a quarterback controversy shifting from Dallas
to Indianapolis where Anthony Richardson. By the way, side, note,
whoever threw the Anthony Richardson tweet out tonight when the
conversations were being had about being misguided? And I guess

(01:52:01):
you could say lack of on target missiles from Iran. Listen,
you're a terrible person. But I don't know if I've
laughed harder than I've ever laughed at anything. To try
to summarize it without getting canceled, the report said Iran fired.
I think it was like forty missiles and only two

(01:52:21):
of them hit. And the retweet with the picture said
Iran be like and it's picture of Anthony Richardson. Terrible, awful,
awful people with that in mind, Apparently, according to Shane Steichen,
the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts. Daniel Jones has
had himself quite the OTA.

Speaker 5 (01:52:42):
Very pleased for what we got right now. He's been
doing a hell of the job. Really smart football player,
learned the offense very quickly, making really good decisions out
there through OTAs. Obviously want to carry that over to
training camp. But he's done a really good job, great
command in the huddle.

Speaker 1 (01:52:59):
Ultimately, my number is eighty eighty eighty percent. What would
you put the brick? Is that proper English? What would
you put the percentage? Chance? Brie that Daniel Jones is
the opening day starter for the Colts. I got it
at eighty percent right now.

Speaker 3 (01:53:19):
I'm gonna go like ninety now I'm gonna go higher.
Wa oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:53:26):
First of all, I thought Daniel Jones was still with
the Vikings whenever I first started seeing some of these
updates and I was like, what are they talking about?
Is there another Daniel Jones out there? And that I
forgot that he was one of the late quarterback ads
that was out and about. And then I know we
got a break. I know we got a break, but
one more quick one on the quarterback controversy, not the Colts,
but everything with Aaron Rodgers, and I found it to

(01:53:47):
be fascinating. Then, now that Aaron Rodgers is signed with
the Steelers, you have the reports about well, he was
really the third choice of the Steelers. What was it
they wanted to re sign Justin Fields, which makes no
sense to me because they benched him last year. I
don't know if I'd buy that. And they were in
on the Matt Stafford conversation, which, by the way, a
lot of people were in on the Matt Stafford conversation,

(01:54:09):
and Sean McVeigh might have been in the Aaron Rodgers
conversation if something happened with Matt Stafford. Here's what the
Rams coach said about their quarterback tree this offseason.

Speaker 24 (01:54:20):
Our first priority, which was consistently communicated, was Hey, let's
work something out with Matthew and we were very fortunate
that it.

Speaker 9 (01:54:28):
Worked out that way.

Speaker 1 (01:54:30):
If that wasn't able.

Speaker 24 (01:54:31):
To occur, then that was definitely conversations.

Speaker 1 (01:54:33):
And a possibility for us. I have a ton of respect.

Speaker 24 (01:54:36):
For the body of work, and I've gotten to know
Aaron and really enjoy the conversations and just the approach
the way that he thinks about the game and in life,
and so that was a possibility, but our first priority
was always to be able to get Matthew back. And
what I do feel really fortunate about because I think
that we're closer than ever and I think sometimes when

(01:54:57):
you're able to have real conversations, I think you can
appre shake the love that's been built up, but also
the ability to be honest with one another.

Speaker 9 (01:55:03):
And I'm really glad that worked out.

Speaker 24 (01:55:05):
And shoot, I wish I know that there's a lot
of people in Pittsburgh that are really excited that that's
finally come to fruition. And you know, I'm a big
fan of his.

Speaker 1 (01:55:14):
Yeah, there you go. Now, what's funny is, remember the
first big report that came out after this was that
it was Colin Coward said, if Stafford doesn't go and
I think they even thought they were gonna get a
first round pick for him, but if it doesn't happen,
but Aaron Rodgers is gonna go to the Rams. And

(01:55:35):
then that quickly kind of dissipated. But there you go,
there's some confirmation of it. Sean McVay saying, hey man,
that that was an avenue we were looking at because
our number one priority was to do what our number
one priority was to get Matt Stafford back in that
they did, all right, the Plank Parlay. Not feeling great
about it, but it's coming up next to put a
rap at this edition of The Plank Show on Fox

(01:55:57):
Sports Radio. Sorry, Mark, I was cutting that one close.
It's the It's the Plank Show. We're leading you right
up to a celebrity filled edition of The Fellas because
according to my schedule sheet, the stinking genius Arready Spanier

(01:56:17):
is in, so he's pulling the double this week. He'll
be back with me on Sunday night ten p to
one a Central time that's God's time zone, eleven p
to two way Eastern time Zone, which is the worst
time zone if we're ranking the time zones, I gotta
be honest with you. Central time Zone, God's time zone.
I don't know. I don't know if it's still there.

(01:56:39):
I think the Mountain time Zone might have it. I
think the Mountain time Zone is number one, then Central,
then Pacific, then whatever time it is in England, then
whatever time it is in Ireland, and then the Eastern
time Zone. And by the way, side note here, I
thought the Eastern region. It was where all the TV

(01:57:01):
ratings and everything came from. Right, I thought that was
where you really wanted to kind of put all your
eggs in that basket. If that's the case, why are
we starting games so late? The old man in me, kid,
these games started earlier. I got to go to bed.
I have two more NFL Mini camp things I need

(01:57:26):
to get to before we get out of here. I
think we have time to cram it all in. Number One,
what is going on in Cincinnati? I get the Trey
Hendrickson hold out and makes sense. The Chamar Stewart stuff
makes no sense to me. Here is what Zach Taylor
said about Shamar Stewart's comments involving his not yet signed contract.

Speaker 25 (01:57:50):
I think there's there's education that happens with all the
rookies that we do our best to educate them. Number One,
we want to protect our team in our locker room,
and so there's some things I understand when there's frustration there,
but that's how he chose to do it, and then
that's that's his prerogative and we look forward to getting
him back in the fold.

Speaker 1 (01:58:06):
And everyone's being asked about it. I mean there's a
cut in our Fox Sports Radio folder from Ted Carris,
the Sinner, who has a take on this.

Speaker 26 (01:58:15):
It's not the best case scenario of how the Spring
could have gone for our first round pick. But you know,
there is uh pretty serious business aspect to our profession,
and you know he's taking counsel from from his you
know camp, and yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:58:33):
I get it, I get it, but it's it's there's
no other first round pick. Old. No, we haven't had
a holdout since we started slotting first round picks. Like
what are we doing? And the Trey Hendrickson deal not
getting done? I don't know, man, I'm starting to panic
a little bit about Cincy. And then there's Joe Flacco.
Joe Flacco, you want to talk about a man speaking
my language.

Speaker 27 (01:58:54):
I'm not guarded. I don't think I'm guarded at all.
I think, honestly, if you talk to me in person,
I'll tell you a lot. I'll be pretty honest with you.
But yeah, on social media, no chance, no chance.

Speaker 1 (01:59:02):
There's part of me. There's there's a piece of me.

Speaker 27 (01:59:03):
At times they were like, ash, should I be this
guy that kind of like does this a little bit
like because that I feel like in order to have
a good social media. You do want to be honest
and like show what you do in your life, but
it's just like that's a job.

Speaker 1 (01:59:15):
Love that guy my new favorite quarterback. All right, let's
get it in under the wire. It's time for the
Plank Parlay to wrap up the show. Here you go, Pap.
A lot of people look at Parlay's as what profitability.
I like the amount of money I could win, probability
based on what it shows me, I could possibly want plane.
You decide if you want to buy yourself the Plank Parlay. Quick.

(01:59:36):
We're only got thirty seconds left. All okay, see give
me OKC minus nine, give me the Oka see money
line on Monday, and give me the over too, twenty
five and a half over to twenty five and a half.
I know it's a lot of points, a lot of points,
but I think Oklahoma City is gonna roll and then
they're gonna go up three to two, and I think

(01:59:58):
they're gonna rock Indiana on Monday Night. Gave him the
series at a game apiece. The Fellows will be talking
about it next. Arnie is in for Jason thanks to
Bree and Mark, I'm Plank. We'll see you next Friday
Night on Fox Sports Radio.
