Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Well, good morning, good morning, Good morning at b hebby Abby,
NFL Draft Saturday, Day three, fellas Jason Fits live in
the Fox Sports Radio studios of Anythingygan, Welcome, Welcome to
(00:25):
Draft Central. In the story, Shador does not go in
day two, the slide continues, and that's been taught. That's
really been the entire talk of this draft. Good morning, Fitzie,
Hey boy, how are you you?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
You know, let me tell you something, Hey, Bud. We
think this hits hard on the East coast. This is
five to nine am. It is different on the West.
I will tell you that there's a moment where I
was like, okay, I'm just gonna I'm gonna get an
uber and come over to the studio because you know, yeah,
Who Sports did our live streams the last two nights,
so every single pick, there no commercials, let's go. As
you know, it was a six hour broadcast night one,
(01:01):
it was about six hours Night two. We finished up,
and I was like, all right, this will be fine.
Take you a couple hour nap and then getting an
uber and head over to the Fox Sports Radio studio.
I got in the car and I was like, it's
not fine. Two am is weird on the West Coast?
Ye all I got. I have such a respect for
you guys on the West coast the tweet us and
comment when you're listening, because you are raging. You are
raging if you are listening to the Fellows for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
And it's gonna be a weird day, man. You know,
I don't drink a lot of like weird stuff anymore.
I got two massive sugar free red bulls in front
of me. We're just gonna juice our weight through this thing.
It is going to be electric.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I like when you get delirious, and.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
I'm delirious after last I'm like, look, I do think
let's not call it anything other than what it was like.
Draft history was made over the last two days in
a in a really strange way. We will never talk
about this draft without talking about Shud or Sanders. The
story of this draft will always be how wrong so
many people were. And when I mean people, I mean
(02:00):
media people, I mean mock drafters, I mean draft experts
as you use your air quotes. Because one thing that
was very clear as we got through day one and
was made clear to me repeatedly by people around the
league and people that cover the draft, is that you know, frankly,
teams didn't expect Shador to be a first drun pick.
We just all thought, hey, Shouldhar's going to be a
first drund pick because he's a quarterback and they're going
(02:22):
to reach a quarterback. That all changed last night when
Dylan Gabriel was drafting, drafted in Shador Sanders War. That
was the moment that we all looked around and shocking
all on the set as it happened, shocking all from
our insiders at y'all who shocking off from everybody because
Dylan Gabriel, by most estimations, is not a competent candidate
to be an NFL quarterback, Like at best, you're drafting
(02:44):
a guy that's ceiling as a backup. And that was
the moment that you looked around and said, okay, this
this is different at this point, this is different. Not
a conspiracy, not in it, but this is different because
Chaduur should have been gone before the end of last night.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
You think, right like you, you would say that, and
I like the way you put it, I like the
way you assessed it, because look, you and I talked
about this. You know, if you talk to NFL people,
he was not going in the first round. We said,
we said before who was going to go in front
(03:19):
of him? Right? You remember that we talked about it
was going in front of him, and the word was out.
It just was not a great prospect. Forget about all
the I think personality stuff. I think what's lost in
translation is he's not that good, or at least according
to NFL people, he's not that good. Now, dude, does
(03:43):
the personality come into play day two? Maybe? I mean,
I'll throw it back at you. Ability is one thing, right,
Like I think I think the media gets caught up
in the name, right. You know, it just reminds me
actually of the media is shock of like over the election,
(04:07):
Like it was it was thought that, well, you know
that Trump was going to lose big, right, and then
when it comes out and Donald Trump rolls right, he
winning early. And I think it's almost the same thing. Like,
I think that the media had this kind of thought
(04:29):
in its head collectively that they believe this narrative and
it just wasn't true.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
There's so many angles to this for everybody just tuning in,
there's a lot of different portions of this that I
think are significant, But what you just said, I want
to die back. I don't remember which NBA player talked
about this, but not that long ago, some of the
NBA guys were lamenting the way the sport is covered
at times because so many people in their life have
(04:57):
played pickup basketball. They think that that suddenly qualifies that
to know everything that they need to know to break
down the NBA and players were basically saying, hey, there's
so much nuance to the coverage of the sport, but
when you're watched constantly by you know, fansy can pick
up a basketball and go play at the why they
think they've got it all figured out? And I think
that narrative last night really hit me when it comes
(05:18):
to the NFL Draft, particularly because we've seen an explosion
in the last five years in draft coverage. This is
the ninth year of my career I've covered the draft
as an NFL live stream, like I covered the first
one ever at ESPN. They still do them now that
I'm not even there. We do them at Yahoo like
everybody does a draft live streams. It's a huge portion
of it. The draft coverage has become such a thing,
(05:39):
especially on social media, But there are plenty of people
in the draft coverage process that are simply reading out
all the mocks at the canon saying, Okay, well, if
this guy's mocked on twenty different mocks to be a
top ten pick, sure must be a top ten pick.
And where it gets really dangerous is those narratives that
become part of the way that we view a player.
And you know that comes back to what you just
said when you talk to people around the league or
(06:01):
people that were plugged into the league, like they were
telling all of us that most teams had a second, third,
fourth round draft grade on Shador Sanders. So now the
logic being, well, people love should do you know people
of quarterbacks are gonna overdraft. I understand that, but I
also think so much of this was a narrative based
on coverage and clicks that was never going to be
(06:23):
very real. And that's just that's such an unfortunate part
of it because this is where you see the actual
damage done. You and I said repeatedly there was one
guy in this class that really was a definite, like, Okay,
Cam Wore deserves to be a first round draft pick.
No question he went first overall, there's no question about that.
The rest of the way, the presumption everybody had was
they would reach. But it just it becomes such a
(06:44):
loud and dangerous narrative if if as many people involved
in the process are simply aggregating, like AI, you know,
this is what a mock drafts says, so that that
suddenly means one linement is better than the other because
more people had him mocked higher than the other. And
that's a real way that the draft is.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Oh yeah, I mean you get these people do mocks
that they never watch damn college football.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
What the percent you've got people covering the draft? I
can tell you definitively. You have people I have worked
with people, prominent people covering the NFL Draft that don't
watch a lick of college football, and they cover the
NFL Draft. They cram what they can between January to April,
and then they become part of these sweeping narratives they
don't watch a lick at college football. And that's that
(07:27):
that's a really hard space to be in, man, because like,
if you really want to tell somebody what they're getting
in Cam's cattabuy, you probably needed to watch more than
just college football playoff. And that's not real. Like a
lot of people are just gonna watch the college football
playoff and make their determination on a player. It's just
it's weird. It's weird.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
You're nee now that it's weird, and I, you know,
quite frankly, I just don't think it's right. And what
happens is you gave the situation like last night, and
you know, the one thing that I will say of
all the coolquarterbacks, Dylan Gabriel, Yeah, that was that I
don't get right. I don't get that over. Like listen,
(08:09):
I take Cole McCord over Dylan Gabriel. You know.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
And look when we were on set that night last night,
Nate Tye one of our experts, and Nate does really
good work breaking quarterbacks. We went into our first production meeting,
Nate Tys was the one that said, you know, if
you're looking across the board, I think Tyler Shuck has
a really good chance to be the second quarterback selected.
And there are you know, three teams that really like
his tape, Like there was smart. There was a smart
(08:34):
breakdown of why Tyler Shuck. You can make a smart
breakdown of why Jaln Milroe, for example, Like you can
continue that process and say, okay, you know, Orlovsky said
it really well on ESPN when he said it at
some point in the draft, your drafting traits, uncoachable traits,
and Jalen has some of those, so you can make
some of those names make sense. You can't get me
(08:54):
to Dylan Gabriel on that, Like, Dylan Gabriel's ceiling is
barely in the league, and I have a hard time
believing the ceiling on everybody has said on schedule for
player comps, if you're into that thing is like maybe
he's a Gino or an Andy Dalton. That's still at
least a you know, I got a guy. He's not great,
but I got a guy. Dylan Gabriel is not expected
by anybody I've ever talked to to hit that sort
(09:16):
of ceiling. Now.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Now, that one that was the one that I wait, damn,
and again I'm rooting from record the guy at some
point right like you know, so I'm looking it in
and I'm going, oh my god, the game, bro, I
just don't say it. Well, the one so small, I
don't say it.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
The one complication, you know, Charles Robinson said to us
last night ten picks in to our show. Maybe Sea
rob came on and said, hey, when you talk to
people around the league right now, and the league was
surprised last night, like people around the league were surprised
that nobody made the jump, I will say that. But
Sea Rob said, very early in the process last night,
this will become a huge conversation about what is worth
(10:00):
the squeeze at some point is it worth the attention
that will come with the story of the free fall
of Chadeur to take him in the third round and
that you know, we were early in the second at
the time at that time and we sort of laughed
at it. But at this point you also have to
acknowledge that part of what makes this difficult is the
minute you bring Shadeur in, you're now bringing in somebody that,
(10:22):
according to your evaluation, you're saying from a tape standpoint,
he's really only a third or fourth rounder. Is that
third or fourth rounder worth the extra attention and headache
that comes with that third or fourth rounder, the questions
that you're going to have to answer, and the spotlight
that they bring for somebody that frankly now isn't even
going to get enough reps in the process to develop
as quickly as they would need to to make it
(10:43):
worth that. It's just that's the complication. Once you hit
a certain point, the distraction just doesn't become worth it.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Now.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
I'm not talking the distraction or whatever people talk about
with his personality. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking
about the attention that comes with the free fall of Shador.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
It's a fascinating point. You also got to throw in
it is dealing with the father worfit like, that's a
whole other deal that I don't know the teams are
gonna want to be interested in.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
I mean, ty ty goes to the batter, right, we
all know. We all know this, like if you've got
if you've got equal grades on you know, or close
to grades the way teams do it tiers, right, if
you if you're looking in the same tier and look
whatever a team believes. If the Saints are looking at
a tier and they say, okay, well at this point,
we can take Tyler shuck and just see what happens there.
(11:33):
They like the arm whatever and over here it's like
very similar grade. But that's on schedueur and that's going
to require a bunch more attention. That's going to require
a level of insecurity from some people in the organization
because you're gonna answer questions day one. Like nobody is
going to be flocking to the Saints press conference week
in and week out to ask every single coach about
Tyler Shuck. Nobody's going to be flocking to Colorado to
(11:56):
ask every single coach why Tyler Shuck isn't playing. Like,
those are things I do think become part of the
decision making process. It has to, like it has to
for a third fourth round or not not for a
first rounder. Like the NFL will forgive anything if the
tape justifies it. What we learned is that the league
doesn't believe the tape justifies the attention.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Yeah, dude, I'm a spot on. The best place for
Sanders is a place with an established starting quarterback where
there's no question whether or not he's going to play.
He's going to sit, And quite frankly, everyone in this
draft other than Ward needs to sit. I mean the
(12:42):
develop there's nobody in this draft other than Ward that
is remotely capable of playing Day one.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Think of how often the quarterback has to Dart like
yeah on perc think of how often a fifth round
quarterback doesn't even see the field, like you never here
again from a fifth round quarterback, Like that's gonna be
the spectrum that sort of could fall into the Shadoor conversation.
And certainly the teams that have passed on him, like
the Raiders passed on him essentially seven times, the number
(13:12):
of times they were on the clock traded back, the
number of picks they made, they passed on Shador seven times,
Like they're not taking him now, like you just the Browns,
you can't. You can't bring that into the building and
then have to answer those questions over and over and
over again from what I'm being told, Like smarter people
than me are saying this, so you know the same
with the Browns. The Browns, you know at this point
they had the chance of that over and over and
over again. It just becomes such a wild distraction. I'm
(13:34):
with you, Like, if he if he could go somewhere,
you know, like I don't know Kansas City for all
I care, Yes, and let him let him slowly roll
him to develop him, get some preseason action, and hope
that he gets a real shot at a real career
in a couple of years. That's way more like viable
at this point.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
That's better for him. Ye, way better for I watched
the kid in my squad the Eagles, Tatner McKee, who's
become a real prospect, who was at Stanford lost in
the shuffle, and nobody can tell you when the outside
of Philadelphia when Tanner McKee was was selected. He's played
(14:13):
the last two pre seasons, he's really come along. In fact,
last year when Jalen got hurt, got nicked up, Kellen
Moore was thrilled. He was like, I can't wait to
see what Tanner McKee looks like, just for a game,
just to see what he looks like. And he looked
really good. And there's a reason why that he's now
(14:33):
the Eagles primary backup and and protected because in case
something happens to Jalen, they got a kid that they
believe can play. So they get they trade Kenny Pickett,
and you know, mckey's the guy. And that's because he's
been able to sit, learn, absorb, marinate all that stuff.
(14:54):
And that's that's what that's what Shadoor and you know,
Jalen Milroe, all those other kids need right now. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
The concept though, is like, can can you bring schadur
in if you believe that his ceiling is just Tanner
McKee and be in a backup I just will he
accept that role? Those are all that. Yeah, if if
you buy into what some of the people said that
his you know, interviews and tape and boardwork and turn
people off in the process, do you really believe that
(15:25):
he's going to take a back up role? I don't know, Man,
this this kid's look. He's gonna get drafted somewhere. I
gotta believe that. But also I know if you'd asked
me about this outcome, if you'd ask me to bet
my house, would he get drafted in the first two days?
I would have bet my house. So you know, I'd
be homeless and I'd be living in the Fox Sports
radio studios. And that wouldn't be That wouldn't be good
for anybody. Really, Like there's not a shower here. It
would get really, it'd go downhill quickly. I think she'd
(15:49):
bring me like man wipes, like that's the thing. Like
she she would like sneak him into the studio every
once in a while. She'd be like, hey, you need
some dude wipes, and like I would appreciate that, you know.
Plus it's La, so like maybe she'd you know, encourage
me to get outside and pick myself up.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Yeah, yeah, I think I think that's what I get
right on.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
I would, I would do that for you.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Yeah, I know you would. You get that kind of
heart I do?
Speaker 3 (16:10):
And donut side for you donuts.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
No.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
If I'm if I'm living in the Fox Sports Radio studio,
I'm going like, whatever the fattest version of me is
is going to be like that. That version is gonna
look fit compared to what happens. Like I'm gonna eat
my feelings, eat my feelings. She's all lost my house
because I bet on sugar centers.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Yeah, well, thankfully you didn't and thankfully you're good. Uh,
we got lots to go because here's the shame. The
shame is we're gonna the whole world is talking about
Shador and not the draft, and it was it was fascinating,
like it is. It's the draft, so it's great, right,
(16:47):
So we got to get into what transpired yesterday for
the players that got selected. Evan Warri was a great pick.
By the way, there's h there's a lot of good.
You gotta be thrilled. I thought of you right away
when Ashton Genty goes to your squad. It's been a
(17:08):
great draft for the Raiders. I know you got to
be excited.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Oh I'm doing I'm doing naked cartwheels in the streets.
Are this thing like one of the better Raiders drafts
I can remember? Let's go?
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yeah, No, it's a you know what. I feel like
the Raiders are have a direction. I think there's adults
in the room. I think there's people that know what
they're doing. So I think you should feel good. A
lot of teams should feel good. We'll get into it all.
We'll take a look at yesterday. We'll look at what's
(17:38):
left on the board today. We'll go team by team
to see how your team did with the Fellas. There
he is Jason Fitz Anthony Gargano right here on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Fell is NFL Draft Edition. Jason Fitz Anthony garganum making
some sense of the first two days. First of all,
overall impressions, would you think of the production Green Bay
(18:25):
twenty twenty five?
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Yea, it should never be in a cold weather city again,
look like, I know what they're doing here, and it's
awesome that they want to make sure cities have the chance.
But like the draft being in Green Bay. And I'm
not even gonna be gentle as I say this, because
you know who cares is the ultimate participation award in
the world of handing out the draft, Like everybody gets one,
(18:48):
so it's Green Bay's turn. Like, Look, I've spent a
lot of time in Green Bay. I've played concerts right
next to Lambeau Field several times. There's very little in
Green Bay to do right. And even the way they
set up the look last night, like over the last
two days, like all the stuff they did in the stadium,
it looked to me pathetic, Like when when you look
(19:09):
over Lambeau and it's a partially filled Lambeau with you know,
a weird backdrop next to it and some VIPs, and
it like that's not the draft. Like Nashville, the way
they hosted the draft and the way that looked on
Lower Broadway, like that was that was an event, and
I got good for Packers fans getting to have that opportunity,
but other than for anybody that wasn't a Packers fan.
And you can't convince me that that was more fun
(19:31):
than some of the other remote locations. And frankly, the
weather just looked pitiful too. Like I felt for the
crowd day two, because man, day two's already for the
diehards only. But man, when you combine that with the
fact that it was cold and wet and rainy, and
you got like Pete Dammel on the broadcast wearing eighteen
jackets like it's the middle of December, Like, eh, I
missed me with all that.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Come on, I will say that my city did it
really well.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Yeah, Philly did do it really well. I'll give you
one of the.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
First ones to make it like a concert, where we
had three days. People were lined up along the parkway
leading to the Art Museum and it was packed and
it was like a festivals.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
And by the way, that's what the best part about
the draft is the energy it gives. And this year,
particularly the I know we're going to get into several
of these teams. I think most teams not all teams,
but I think most teams this year had smart, well informed,
identifying drafts. That that really showed you how much football
(20:34):
teams today right now. Finally, this year seemed to truly
understand the importance of you know, the fat guys up
front on both sides of the ball. You saw, I
thought you saw a foundation like really strong, smart drafts.
So a lot of people could be excited about, but
part of what they can be excited about as a
fan base is that you're around everybody celebrating this thing.
(20:55):
Like it is kind of wild to me that the
draft is so commutal that it's like the one time
of year that even if it's rival teams, Yeah you're together,
you're trash talking each other, but you're it's not the same,
Like there's not the same anger. Like everybody's having a
good time every It's like it's like being at a
country music festival where everybody's just enjoying all of the acts.
Like that, to me is the draft. And and that's
(21:16):
part of again what I think is lost in that
Green Bay portion of it.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Yeah, I hear you on that, I do. I I mean,
you know, theoretically, I'm I'm happy that they got it,
they got their shine, but I feel you, and it
felt because it's such a small market, it felt like
they had to put on a Truman Show type of
thing where I don't know if you had the same
(21:42):
kind of vibe, but the fans like these kind of
fake actor fans that they would go to like Jack
Dill's on the Clock. And then you see the same
kind of people right with like who's wearing a helmet
and the big jaguar chain, and it's like they're all
out of costume, and you know, years ago the this
(22:07):
is what I thought of Fox. It was a Fox
Game of the Week, Eagles and Rams, and I believe
it's the game that Carson wentz h towards a c L.
But they knew Fox knew it was gonna be all
Eagle fans on the set. Remember the Rams had just
(22:28):
moved back to l A, right, you know the thinness
of the fan base. Eagle fans are rabbits. There's a
lot of Philadelphia expats in LA and so you had
old Eagle fans. So they went to a casting agency
and got Rams fans, paid actors to be Rams fans,
(22:52):
And I thought it was the same thing like I was.
I was like, these people aren't real. There's no way.
I was told a friend of mine, we're watching the drifts,
like these people aren't real. These aren't real fans. First
of all, not every real fan wears a helmet, right, Like,
real fans don't wear helmets, they don't wear the stupid
(23:14):
things the gigantic change run her neck, you know, like
this is all costume makeup.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
By the way, there was a violation on one of
the fans I saw last night, double violation number one,
a Green Bay fan wearing a Darth Vader mask, which
that was definitely a product placement by Disney, like somebody
Disney Darth Vader mask. But then on top of the
Darth Vader mask in the broadcast they showed he also
(23:40):
had a cheese seat. Darth Vader is not going to
wear a cheese at number one, so that's violation. Wearing
Darth Vader as a mask to the draft when it's
not part of your team as violation. And thirdly, it
looked like the way he was jumping up it down
he was trying to scream. Screaming while wearing a Darth
Vader mask also a violation. You're only screaming at yourself.
I don't understand stand why you would wear a mask,
(24:01):
and then especially in an event where you are meant
to see things and cheer names, like that's all you're doing.
Like you're just seeing somebody walk up and read off
a name. Your only shot for your favorite team is
to cheer that, and you're wearing a Darth Vader mask
with a cheese head out. So many violations, I thought
that person needed to be removed from his seat.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Yes, and my guess is that's not a real Packer
fan now, a dude, there's a bunch of actors that
the production they brought in the league brings in a
bunch of actors and it's a Truman show.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Not for nothing. That happens all the time in the
music business, like I've said before, like I played the
Dick Clark's Rock of New Year's even when we did
the West Coast taping of it, every single person in
there was a paid extra a lot of times up
at the front of the stage. They make sure that
they've got they want beautiful people in these situations. Like
if you if you go to most concerts and festivals,
there's a reason that the people in the first five
(24:57):
rows are not, you know, supermodels compared to what we
see on TV all the time, because they changed placement
on these things all the night. They want to make
sure that they have beautiful people in the front for
so many of these TVs. I'd never thought about that
being the case with the draft, and now you've said it,
and that's all I can see because you are a
thousand percent right.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
There is no way, yeah, anyway. But I think the
story of this draft is what you said a moment ago,
and I think it was brilliant. I think this is
the draft where everyone got it. Everyone understood what's important
(25:36):
how you build a football team. There wasn't a moment
where I weigh, what in the world are they thinking.
There was logic behind the picks. I thought, by and
large they were smart picks, good picks. I agreed with Bully.
You could quibble player here, player there a couple slots here.
(26:01):
But I don't know, I mean, Brian Larns, I don't
I remember a draft right way.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Yeah, I get it, and I think part of the reason, well,
there's a couple there's a couple of little exceptions to that.
But I will say this the first round of the draft. Again,
I'm always so honest with everybody. When we finished our broadcast,
we looked at each other, We're like, first round of
the Draft was tough to cover this year, and it
(26:26):
was tough to cover for a panel of people that
have put thousands of hours communing combined into prepping for
this thing because there were so many offensive lineman, which
is a beautiful thing and you and I talk about
it every Saturday. There's not enough talented offensive lineman in
the NFL. It's one of the biggest problems we have,
and so I think it made coverage at times hard
(26:47):
and it made for some viewers that they were like,
I felt a little slow this year in the first round,
the second round because there were so many you know,
it was it was a beefcake Round one in a
beautiful way. That made the second and third rounds the
fastest and most electric I've ever covered. Like that was
the I had the most fun last night I've ever
had covering a second and third round because what you
ended up with a lot of Saturday Stars, a lot
(27:08):
of people that are actually gonna make a difference going
to teams, and it felt like it was such a
smart way to do it. From team building, it was like, Hey,
I'm gonna go out and I'm gonna get this lineman
because I need lineman, and I'm gonna worry about the
running back or the receiver or the fancy toy. I'm
gonna worry about that. In the second round, we saw
so much of that. I thought that there was really
smart strategy. Man. And I'll go back to the offensive
(27:28):
lineman and just say this, like this year, every offensive
lineman I talked to seemed to have a different breakdown
on lineman. So if your favorite team took a fat guy, rejoice,
because I can't find any sort of real consensus on
any of the guys in the first round that were taken.
There there is a yeah butt for almost all of
them for somebody, So like, rather than worry about well,
(27:50):
I mean, did they really need to take banks there
or could they have taken No, don't get cute with it.
If you liked your fat guy, go get your fat guy,
and go get your fat guy and be happy with it.
So I thought it was a really smart first round
by teams because they just went out and they took
their favorite flavor of ice. Cream and particularly a lot
of weight behind it.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Yeah. Yeah, it's a great point except.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
For the Falcons. Except let me just the Falcons giving
up a future first round or to move back into
the first round. That that was the one thing that
didn't make that.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
That was the one that was the That was the
only eye popper, scratch your head moment. That was the
only scratch your head moment. Right, look at the Cowboys,
Like I thought the Cowboys drafted smartly. Right, you get
your big guard and Tyler Booker, I mean you know,
I mean kids and kids, some monster six' Five. Alabama,
(28:42):
right you, go you get your you plug. In you
Lost Zach, martin, right he. Retired you gotta go Get
you got a big spot there to. Fill and then
you come back and you get great value With donovan
Ez A. Raku like when you Got donnie At at
sitting there your twelfth pick in the second. ROUND i
mean that's a great still pick FOR i think For.
(29:04):
Dallas and then you Got Revel junior or like you
get a corner WHO i think is going to be
good and that point in the third, round LIKE i
thought that was a solid maybe not, sexy but a
very solid.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
DRAFT i talked to two different talent evaluators On revel
going into the draft that both told, me if he was,
healthy he's a top ten. Pick and the problem is
he just he wasn't healthy in the last year, obviously
so he transfers and never really gets the opportunity to
show anything that has such a, look you're picking in
the third, round why not take a big. Swing you're
(29:40):
taking a big swing on somebody that if they nailed it,
there like if they nailed these, picks they end up
with a absolute just amountain of a man In Tyler
booker that is a foundational piece for their offensive line
for the next ten. Years and how did The cowboys
win football? Games they win win their offensive line is.
Good they get an edge rusher that is going to
have just a glorious. Assignment he's going to just absolutely
(30:02):
crush it with cleanup sacks constantly because of the pressure
That parsons. Creates and they get a corner that has
a very real opportunity if, healthy and they can give
them the time to get. Healthy if, healthy he has
the opportunity to be a top ten corner in THE
nfl like, That and they got him in the third.
Round this was a yetting.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
GAME i love As. IAKU i Think asakus a. PLAYER
i thought he slipped a little BIT.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
A thousand percent. Agree and this is why we have
to change at some point the way we talk about The,
Cowboys like we just this is yet again The cowboys
sitting in the draft and be, like you know, what
we're going the best player, available this that actually happens
to get our needs taken care of in a way
that is just going to make us a better football.
Team like The cowboys may not know how to pay
their guys once they get, them but, boy they know
(30:45):
how to get them like, this this is a really
good draft for.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Them. Yep BUT i thought that they were The they
were indicative of everybody in this, draft, Right AND i
just use them as an example for your for your.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
Point, YEAH i mean look at look at one more
quick one a team that stood. Out like if you
had told us when the draft started that The Cleveland
browns were gonna move out of number, two you just,
said what in the hell are you? Doing like why
would you do? That and in our production meetings when
we were getting, ready the one thing that kept coming
up in our production meetings over and over and over.
Again is you can Take Travis, hunter but you have
(31:21):
so many needs and you're not even. Popsible you don't
have anybody to throw them the. Football you have so
much to, do and it's a two or three year.
Rebuild what are you? Doing they end up trading, down
and out of trading, down they end up getting a
defensive tackle In Mason graham THAT i think is plug
and play the only linebacker that a lot of people
liked in this. Draft early on In, schwassenger they get
(31:43):
a running back the day one is a monster. Form
they get a tight end that absolutely did superhuman, things
even if it was At Bowling. Green like up until
they Took Dylan, gabriel The browns were giving us a master.
Class and then they Took Dylan Gabriel like that was
they were winning the draft and being the Brown then
(32:03):
it was, like come, On, stefanski we wanted to give
you guys An, WELL i, Wasn't.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Kevin i'll tell you. That. Yeah uh all, Right. Uh
lots to get to as we go through this, draft
and all the draft covers On Fox Sports radio is

App let's go. Through let's get it. Started let's go
through each. Team we'll just go alphabetically and we'll start
(33:14):
with The Arizona. Cardinals, FITZY i Love Walter nolan, man
so you get real value at sixteen and Grab Walter.
Nolan then you come back With Will, johnson the corner
out Of michigan in the second, Round jordan Birch off
the edge from the kid From, oregon who's very good
(33:38):
value in the third. Round that's really good For gannon's.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Defense, yeah And this was a gannon statement DRAFT i
think in that, sense like they looked at it and, said,
hey this is what we're gonna. Do Will johnson one
of the free followers of the, draft and we didn't
find out really until after night one because remember some
people Have will john and again mockx or at this
point disgusting the way we've seen this. Go but some
(34:04):
people Had Will johnson going even in the top. Fifteen
the problem here was turf tow and hamstring were two
things that held him. Back but then they discovered some
knee stuff in the medical process form that one PERSON
i talked to have said that, team some teams had
him completely off their, board which that was a shock
to most of. Us So Will johnson was supposed to be.
(34:25):
Gone but when you reach that middle of the second,
round if your medical is comfortable with, him even if
you're not comfortable that his career will go as long
with the, knee if you're comfortable that you can get
a career out of him with the, knee which Obviously arizona,
was that has the opportunity to be a, steal a
steal of a. Pick so that was just a development
none of us. Expected he never should have been available
(34:45):
there were it not for the knee. Stuff so, YEAH
i Think arizona had a really nice. Draft And gannon
continues to tell the world that every every single year
we go into this, like, Oh Kyler, Murray Kyler. Murray
Now arizona's they're building a smart football, team a well
balanced football team around both sides of the.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
Ball. Yeah, again it's indicative of what really transported around the.
Leak you, know there's, defense and there was a line
it was it was that it was like the Smart,
draft the twenty twenty five Smart. Draft it's. AMAZING i
(35:21):
think back to what an inexact, science the whole thing
used to, be right like this felt like the competent
people doing this. DRAFT i, Mean i'll be honest with.
YOU i think your point that you made was so spot, on,
right so spot on that while everybody's talking about milk
hyper oh my, god won't shut up about your Door.
(35:45):
Sanders the truth of the matter is the competency from
the league is WHAT i think the story.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Was, yeah and it's funny because you're. Right it's also
a hell of a lot easier to just sit there
and lament SH i, mean if for being honest with
mel particularly considering that he had him ranked as his
highest quarterback prospect and fifth quarter fifth prospect. Overall he
has to yell about it because he's so sweepingly wrong
(36:14):
according to the league that either the league or, idiots
Or mel's an. Idiot now there's no other way to
take it in this. Situation so part of the REASON
i think Mel is is pounding the table so hard
is that that can be his only. Explanation you can't
Have shadur ranked that high as a prospect and then
be that wrong without some egg on your. Face so
he's trying to put the egg somewhere, else and you're
(36:36):
also a thousand percent. RIGHT i think at the end
of the, day this speaks to the fact that most
people don't want deep die breakdowns of offensive, linemen and
most people can't do deep breakdowns, Either so it becomes
easier to scream About.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Shadur, Right so the whole broadcast becomes that the, dude
you nailed it about you nailed it the oh nobody
wants to do a live breakdowns because that's not driving. Ratings,
Look i'm the worst hot take world Of oh my.
God every three seconds we'll bring Up shador, Like i'll
(37:11):
be honest with. YOU i was Now I'm i'm a,
rarity Like i'm. DIFFERENT i think you're. Different it's just
not my cup of. Tea i'd like the you, Know
i'm a student Of, baldy, right give Me baldy's breakdowns
Because i'm a. NERD i like the, game, right BUT
i get it, like you know that's not.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Sexy, well, look and we had we had our production
meeting before day two of THE nfl livestream we did For,
yahoo and the first thing we asked as the table
is how do we want to Handle? Shador and we
decided for our show that we would Handle sajur at
the top and we would not mention him again until
there was a spot where that it was believed he
could be taken or if there was breaking. News other than,
(37:52):
that we stayed away from it because like there has
to be at some point there has to be a
audience that wants to hear about something, else like you
just maybe it's not as broad an, audience but my,
god and that's where LIKE i always come back to.
You in some, WAYS i am the worst person to
ever go to a concert With i'm the first to admit,
that because When i'm standing, there it's Like i'm studying,
(38:13):
everything And i'm looking at, everything And i'm dug into the.
Minutia so for some, People i'm the worst person to
go to a concert, too because they just want to
go bop their head To Taylor. Swift and that's. Fine
for some, People i'm the best to go to a concert,
too BECAUSE i can give you the inner workings of
literally everything that's happening on. Stage that's the way my brain.
Works there may not be as many people that want.
That that's what this year's draft was. Like if you
just wanted to bop along To Taylor, swift this was
(38:34):
a tough draft to do it because in the first
round so many particularly so many of these guys that were.
Taken you needed experts that could give you the. Minutia.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
Yeah, yeah, no it's a, great great. Analogy all, right
let's do falcons falcons while you start off With, walker,
Right so you Grab walker and then then they got,
weird right because you were the one who completely blew
(39:03):
the market price by trading a number one to get
up to go Grab James Pearce, junior which is great
that you. GOT i love. THAT i love the attacking
your defense that, way and they coming back With Xavier.
WATTS i, MEAN i like the. PLAYERS i just THINK
i don't get trading the, one the number, One.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Yeah especially a couple of picks after The giants traded
less than that to move up to get a. QUARTERBACK
i hated that. Move AND i hated that move for
a lot of. Reasons i'll tell. You we'll tease. This
there's a big reason WHY i think The falcons couldn't
have done, this and it has everything to do With
Michael Bannock. Junior like they backed themselves into a. Corner
(39:43):
they could be catastrophic for the organization by doing what
they did over the course of the first night of the.
Draft how's that for a.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Tease, wow that is a that's a super.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
Tease thank you so.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
Much, yes excellent, work excellent work dangling the, hook baiting the.

(41:01):
team by team kind of the assessment of the. DRAFT
i think you would. Capsule you encapsulized it by, saying
this is the draft that everybody did the right. Way
that it's taken a long long, time and we have
gone through the windy roads of the. Draft, Right we've taken.
(41:23):
Drafts we've seen drafts with nine running backs in the first.
Round we have seen drafts with no running backs in
the first. Round we've seen the trends go up and.
Down we've seen shoehorn. Quarterbacks this draft in twenty twenty
five is a draft of, smarts of football smarts that
(41:48):
every team approach it the right, way except for The
falcons in the.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
Trade, well and, look this is where cost analysis does
matter a little, bit, Right, like, so The falcons Took
Jalen walker first in their first round, pick and then
they trade back up late in the first round to
Take James Spears, junior an edge, Rusher so they're attacking
the defensive side of the. BALL i obviously that makes.
Sense Every falcons fan knows they need to get to the.
(42:15):
Quarterback that's. Fine the problem is when they trade back,
up they gave up a first round pick for next.
Year so now ask yourselves what If so we've seen
very little Of Michael Pennick junior so, far but in
this early process Of Michael Pennick, junior there are three.
Outcomes he's, great he's, okay or he's. Terrible, Right, so
if he's, great, okay, cool then you've helped the defense
(42:36):
and that's. Great you've got a one third chance of,
that and then next year you don't care about the
first round. Pick if you've turned around and your defensive
line is. DOMINATING i get all of. That if he's just,
okay we're going to enter next year's draft with a
deep conversation about needing to get more weapons around. Him
how do you protect? Him what do you have to
give him to be as successful as he possibly can.
Be the narrative we have around every young quarterback when they're.
(42:58):
Drafted sometimes it's offensive, line sometimes it's. Weapons but The
falcons have put themselves in the situation where they won't
be able to use any first round asset next year
to help. Him or or if he's absolutely not, good
like we've seen a little, bit but there is still
a chance that he's just not. Good if he's not,
good you're out of any sort of ammunition that can
(43:20):
help you bolster, that that can help you figure out
how to get more out of. Him or in a
deep drafted, class Like i'm not saying they're going to
replace a kid a year and a half in that
they just. DRAFTED i understand, that but you don't have any.
Options you just ran out of options next year to
get a edge rusher that you know at the bottom
of the first round that you may or may not
have had to work in a draft that was full
(43:42):
of tons of edge. Rushers, like there's just a all
of the math doesn't math when you figure out what
it means for the future and why move up for
that player in that, situation when, again The giants had
just moved up to get a quarterback and hadn't given
up nearly as much in that.
Speaker 2 (43:57):
Return, no, DUDE i that's that was the only thing
to scratch you and your case is right. NOW i
believe In panix me too very. MUCH i like. THEM
i believe in them the whole. Thing but you know you.
Don't the last thing you knew you need is to
just fritter away assets.
Speaker 1 (44:17):
And, LOOK i think if you're The. Falcons the hard
part about all of this is you've got to address
the defensive side of the. Ball but the other part
of this is just the war rating. Rating it's like
the winds above. Replacement winds above replacement For James Pierce
junior versus some of the other guys that were still
there on the board is an interesting proposition to have
had to figure. Out now that being, SAID i also Liked,
(44:39):
watts the safety they, took like just the names that they,
Got they've taken a lot OF.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
I love the PICKS i.
Speaker 1 (44:47):
DO i just don't know that next year they'll love
it when they're sitting there On night one, saying, oh,
yeah we don't have a pick this, year but we
Have James Pierce. Junior like, That better be a low
pick next. Year better be a low pick in the first.
Round for The falcons to justify.
Speaker 2 (44:59):
It, yeah, yeah, NO i hear. You all, right let's
look at. Home. MAN i love what The ravens.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Did how did they always do?
Speaker 2 (45:09):
This oh my, GOD i love the Raven The. Ravens
all they do is draft, well they are just the perfect.
Team and their defense has got two worth, thumpers, Right Malachi.
Stark so you get your big hitting safety that you just. Love,
(45:30):
right you get Your george's. Safety and, look you, KNOW
i know there was stuff Surrounding Mike, green but you
know that dude could. Play uh you gotta beast off
the edge late second. Round you want to talk about
value there and In Emery, jones you go get a,
tackle you, know a legit. Tackle SO i love what
(45:52):
The ravens. Dead.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
Dude, yeah, Look malachi is the minute he got, drafted
we all just laughed, because like The, eagles just certain
teams just let the board come to him and get
exactly what they, need you, know and exactly the type
of player that fits in with the identity The Mike
green stuff. Is it's, complicated and you, know as two
(46:13):
accusations of sexual, assault he's never actually been charged with
anything in that. Process nothing has ever come to light
to that, level but he was accused in high, school
which impacted his college. Career he went To, virginia where
they had no a zero tolerance, policy he was again
accused and then transferred To marshall where his numbers were
absolutely incredible because at the end of the, day he's dead,
(46:35):
dynamic dynamic. Player but what we learned About Mike, GREEN
i think in the process of this, draft if his
record was, clear if this had nothing to do with
anything off the, field he was top ten pick in
the eyes of Sub so what we learned is that
some teams, clearly in doing their research weren't as comfortable as.
Others all we can do is hope and trust that
The ravens did that research in a way that they're
(46:57):
very comfortable with the information moving. Forward and if that's the,
case they got an absolute steal in the First in
the second round of the, draft they got top ten
talent late in the second. Round so the fall Of Mike,
green to me WAS i think a pretty big statement
that teams in their investigations just weren't comfortable with the.
Player but this is a just from from the skill
(47:17):
set of these three that they drafted a home run For.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
Baltimore oh my, god, RIGHT i, mean geez all, right
let's Go buffalo and with their first round. PICK i
Love Maxwell harston as a. Kid tell me that kid doesn't.
Speaker 1 (47:36):
Radiate, YEAH i mean this was going out and getting yourself.
Up just a playmaker late in the first, round LIKE i.
Speaker 2 (47:45):
Love at all quality. ALL i, mean just a dynamite,
kid by the.
Speaker 1 (47:50):
Way, yeah AND i will remind everybody not only is he,
dynamite but he can run faster while eating a bucket
of wings In buffalo than most people could ever imagine
running in their entire. Lives like a level of speed
that is just. WOW i mean there's just a a
absolutely Like i'm not surprised The, Bills like this was
tantalizing when you look at that level of. Speed but,
(48:11):
also you, Know BUFFALO i think did a really nice.
Job they go out and get a lot of beef AND.
Tj sanders to The South.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
CAROLINA i mean that's a legitimate edge in the third,
round you, know you, uh that's that's good, stuff you.
KNOW i like. THAT i like their draft a.
Speaker 1 (48:31):
Lot the only hard part For buffalo is that they're
always judged by is this the big that will get
you through The. Chiefs and the answer to that is,
like hell IF i, know like If I'm buffalo every
single TIME i drafted to GET i also ask if
they know like a voodoo doctor or anybody like Like
I'm i'm if the entire Organization i'm just getting like
one of those little voodoo, dolls And i'm pricking whatever
(48:52):
Like Andy reid and and just just trying to figure
out some way to get through because like at this,
point The bills have done everything they possibly can to
be A Super bowl alib football. Team this is a
really strong. Draft but, man The bill's fan base just
has to sit here and, Say, okay, maybe LIKE i don't,
know is this help us people? Homes like that's all
that's ALL i want's thinking about. It it's unfortunate For bill's.
(49:12):
FANS i think it's hard for them to find joy right.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
NOW i, KNOW i, know BUT i, actually you, know,
HONESTLY i just THINK i look at it and go, Smart,
RIGHT i go back to your, word which is. SMART
i mean that's what it. Is that's a smart.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
Approach, yeah IT'S i think the number of times that
we always see these grades go out And it's funny
to me BECAUSE i was, asked you, know biggest winners and,
losers all those questions, were AND i looked at. IT
i was, like, y'all, LIKE i just don't think that's this,
draft you, know and LIKE i, know we live in
a hot take. SOCIETY i don't think this is a
hot take. DRAFT i think this is that there's a
(49:55):
lot of teams that just deserve as all across the.
Board like it just feels like one of those thing
where it's, like, man we're lucky this. Year this is
there's not a lot to trash in. This it's a
really beautiful.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
Thing, yeah, no it's it's a it's a great, point all.
Right this is for my Man, gunner who's a Big
Carolina panthers. Fan would you think of, uh let's look
at The panthers. Draft you start with, McMillan, right which
is you can't go, wrong you, KNOW i, mean the
(50:25):
best the concetsus best receiver in the. Draft, Scourton OH
i Love listen you, look you look at. Him he
looks the. Part, now, right you just got to get
production out of. Him but he looks the, part and
you get princely another edge in the third.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
Round, yeah and a lot of potential, There like, Look
tenoro McMillan was, wide wildly regarded as the top wide receiver,
here and they go out Get Bryce young a, weapon
WHICH i think is a really good. Thing and you're.
Right like the weird thing with nickcurt is that, like,
golly just everything looks when you when you just look at,
him everything looks like, domination, Right and then didn't necessarily
(51:10):
get the same level of production that some people thought
that he should get through. That but, man you're drafting
traits in the second. Round part of what you're doing
is drafting. Trades same with The prince Of Umami. ELLEN
i just wanted to really show off THAT i worked
on Uman Me. Ellen that was that was MY i
had a phonetically he spelled on a card for when
he was, ready AND i spent so much time working
on Uman Me ellen THAT i had it like with
(51:32):
Man Me Dosh, ellen LIKE i had this all written.
Out when he was, drafted the whole room just looked
at me and they're, like you're gonna get. It youre
gonna nail, it youre gonna nail. It AND i. Did
i'm telling, YOU i thought about just walking off. Set
at that, Point i'm, Like.
Speaker 2 (51:42):
I've done my.
Speaker 1 (51:43):
JOB i nailed a. Pronunciation the bar is very, low
but the bar for the player very. High LIKE i, think,
again you're talking about somebody with a lot of traits like.
THEY i wouldn't be surprised at all if their defense
is really energized by those, second, second and third.
Speaker 2 (51:59):
Picks, Dude, yes, yes, yes all, right so we we so.
Far it's funny going through, it right we we we
like five for five. Basically, yeah, yeah so far.
Speaker 1 (52:18):
Everything i'm happy with.
Speaker 2 (52:19):
Everybody and, HONESTLY i would have said the same thing
about The.
Speaker 1 (52:23):
Bears, YEAH i mean going out and getting offensive. Weapons
you get the best tight, End you get a receiver
you really, like you get a lineman you really. Like,
yeah The. Bears The bears did a really nice.
Speaker 2 (52:34):
JOB i. LIKED i think you got value At. BURDEN
i think you get a lot of upside With.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
Burden, yeah a thousand, percent and you get somebody that
you can, Like, Look Ben johnson's gonna put his stamp on,
this this, organization, right and like that's what you see right.
Away interesting That Colston lovelin was the first wide first
wife worst tight.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
End, yeah Not.
Speaker 1 (52:53):
Warren and you know, this this comes down to a
lot of the fact That colston is more like in.
Line he can he can get right by the offense of,
line he can do a lot of blocking things that like.
WHAT i don't think this is a statement About Colston
loveland's better or worse Than Tyler. WARREN i think it's
a statement more about, hey for what we're going to
do and the way we like to move tight end
from inside to outside and wide receiver from inside to.
(53:14):
Outside they gave themselves some of the flexibility in the
offense by this draft that that you, Know Ben Jonson,
habit The lions and the way that they use you,
Know Samuel porta and, uh you, Know i'm On, Say
i'm On Ross Saint. Brown the way they sort of
move those. Guys that's part of what they were trying
to get. Here it made a lot of.
Speaker 2 (53:30):
SENSE i. DID i, MEAN i look at, It Shamar
turner in the second. Round it gets. Good that's more
really good value right.
Speaker 1 (53:42):
There, yeah he's he's just big, Too like he's just
a massive human. BEING i really Like shamar. There so
they traded they traded up to get him, too AND
i understand, Why LIKE i just, yeah really good value for.
Them it's just The bears. Again you, know this whole,
offseason you, know came in with this fans come out
with this plan of, like you, know spend all the
money and get everything glorious and make it all. Happen
(54:04):
and you, Know i'm trying not. To i'm trying to
be measured in My bear's approach because last YEAR i
thought they were going to take a massive leap forward
despite their, coaching and they. Didn't, Right, LIKE i think
it's it's fair to say that the fatal flaw for
The bears was much like what the fatal.
Speaker 2 (54:16):
The quarterback needed, time, right one hundred.
Speaker 1 (54:18):
Percent but they also like Keeping eberflus just was never
that was never going to, work. Right SO i think,
that you, know a lot of us are jaded from
the expectation last year of, oh The bears are going
to make the playoffs and like that didn't. Happen BUT
i do think that The bears there their roster shaped
much more to the image Of Ben, johnson which it
needed to do over the course of the last forty eight.
(54:38):
Hours it's really well.
Speaker 2 (54:40):
Done, yeah, MAN i think in a big. Way, now
we touched on it a. Bit i'm a Huge warren,
fan But loveling probably is the best pure and is
a better purre tight.
Speaker 5 (54:57):
End.
Speaker 1 (54:57):
Yeah, like, Look warren is just he's the guy that's
gonna get open. More but not like he reveals more
of what he is when he's on the, field, right
like you know WHAT i? Mean like, that you know
sort of what he does from a play calling, Situation
he's more limited in the overall round roundness of the
position Versus Colston, loveland who can do more tight ending.
(55:18):
Things BUT i do believe like you need a you
need a, weapon you need somebody that's really gonna go
out there and just wepping the hell out of. You
that is. THAT i Think warren would have been the
better pick, There But Colston lovelin is the better tight
end For Ben johnson what he's gonna make him.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
Do, yeah, YEAH i. Agree all, right let's tackle The
bengals and uh they Go Shamar stewart in the middle
of the first. Round another guy that again you're looking
at you know what he could possibly? Be is? It?
(55:52):
Now you, KNOW i don't know About Dimitrius. Knight i'm
curious to see what you. THINK i was like a
little iffy on that. Pick and then they Get dylan
fairchot out the guard out Of georgia in the third.
Speaker 1 (56:03):
Round, YEAH i, think so let's look at all of
this a little bit, together, right BECAUSE i think you're.
Right Demitrius knight felt like that was a little rich for.
Him it felt like maybe it was a little early for,
him but there just weren't a lot of linebackers in
this year's, draft SO i think he just sort of
had to do what you had to do. There But Shamar,
STEWART i think gives. You the production For Shamar stewart
(56:23):
is better than the. Stats SO i just tell, everybody
if you're just looking at the, stats just go watch
some of the YouTube stuff out of. It it's really.
GOOD i Think Demetrius knight was a little rich, there
but also they just needed to get more bodies on
the defensive side of the, Ball SO i didn't have
a problem with it because the run on linebackers and
the way it was going was going to leave them
without any help. There and Then Dylan, fairchild they get
(56:44):
an offensive lineman out Of georgia that here's a funny,
thing we would have seen every one of these offensive
linemen From georgia much differently last year than we did this.
Year Because georgia's offensive line just stunk last. Year they
underperformed in every possible way last, year but a bunch
of them still got. Afted why because, TEAMS i, think
look at it and, say, hey there's no excuse for
(57:05):
why they played as poorly as they played considering the
expectations last. Year but there's certainly the potential in every
one of. Them so this is the ultimate my coach
can fix this guy sort of draft. Picks SO i
think The bengals did a nice, job BUT i do
think they took some projects along.
Speaker 2 (57:19):
Them. YEAH i was kind of, Like, eh, well looked at,
it and you're, right there are. Projects we talked about
the brand The browns a little. Bit you, Know it's
funny a couple people are taking shots early And i'm,
going what to get what they? Got an extra one
(57:41):
and an extra two to move down three spots and
take a lock defensive. TACKLE i, mean you, know to,
me that's the ultimate home.
Speaker 1 (57:50):
Run, also The browns are one of the most unique
ORGANIZATIONS i can remember in sports because they, stink but
they have absolute continuity with what they're doing from a
front office and a head coach. STANDPOINT i don't believe
that there's any pressure on The browns to win a
lot of football games this. Year that's part of WHY
i think ownership took the ownership for everything that happened
With Deshaun. Watson so what you have now is the team.
Speaker 2 (58:12):
THAT i think because they should have because it was.
Speaker 1 (58:14):
That BUT i think what we learned is The browns
looked around and, said you're, right we don't have a quarterback,
option and we don't believe that the quarterback option is
in this year's. Draft so we're going to pick up
an extra first rounder next, year which is going to
help us if we need to move up in the
draft to get somebody, else we have more ammunition to
move our way. Up and, now if you're The, browns
you're looking at it, saying how do we start foundationally
(58:35):
building but also leave ourselves the opportunity to get that
quarterback next. YEAR i think this was a real indication
of a two year plan for The browns where the
next next year is where they address.
Speaker 2 (58:44):
Quarterback, agreed and you, know and then you get a
couple of skill. Guys, right you Mentioned, Schwassinger so you
get your, linebacker but then you go get you, Know
judkins And fan And, junior, right who is probably the
best pure pass, catcher uh tight end in the. DRAFT
(59:04):
i mean all he does is just he's just a.
Receiver that's, wild, RIGHT i, mean my. God and then
you get a legit back and you get a top.
LINEBACKER i, MEAN i think that's a great tread, now.
Speaker 1 (59:20):
And then you title down your leg with a backup
quarterback that you shouldn't have.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
DRAFTED i, MEAN i just don't understand. THAT i don't get.
Speaker 1 (59:27):
It terrible.
Speaker 2 (59:28):
Pick, yeah that's the one. THING i, go. Huh and
by the, way you gotta look at where you play,
too like Doing. GABRIEL i just don't see.
Speaker 1 (59:39):
It, NO i just think they didn't want your door
because they don't want your, door so they don't want
to even bring him in the building because they're going
to get a quarterback next.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
Year, Right but why waste the third round pick?
Speaker 1 (59:49):
THERE a thousand? PERCENT i agree with.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
That, yeah, yeah that's just. Bizarre uh we did The cowboys.
Already they gotta you, know you're stupid because you know
the grading. Drafts it's just you, know it's all conjecture
of what it could. Be so it's not really a
great it's just like kind of what we. Look but
(01:00:11):
we love what The cowboys. Did Love, Booker we love,
UH i, MEAN i Love. Asaraku he's a terrific. Plot
what a talent you're getting first round talent in the
in the almost middle of the second.
Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
Round, no, absolutely he's a. Beast there's no. LIKE i
think The cowboys absolutely nailed it in every possible, way
Like aseraku being available where he was surprised most. PEOPLE
i thought he was going to go in the first.
Round they there's the chef's. Kiss no notes on, This
like we just went to A michelin star restaurant with this.
Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
Draft, yeah chef's, kiss all, right they, say quick, too
will come right. Back fell is hanging out the looking
At day three of THE Nfl draft right here On

(01:02:13):
Raiders we'll get to The raiders coming. Up but do
you you gotta feel great about your? Squad, oh just
moving forward like everything they, did it's like they finally
have fixed it thanks To.
Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
Tom by the, way, look it's interesting you Mentioned. Tom,
hell we can get The raiders every hour on the
hour for ALL i. Care it's interesting you Mentioned tom
because think about some of them narrator like the one
of the biggest questions for some teams is new, regimes
how are they gonna handle the? Draft and particularly we
saw With, jacksonville who you, know shocked the world with
(01:02:46):
aggressive moves early. On, Okay jacksonville was sending out smoke screens.
Everywhere jacksonville was telling some people they were gonna move,
up some people they were gonna move, down some people
they were gonna stay where they. Were Like jacksonville was
sending out smoke. Screens it is hysterical to me that
The raiders did the exact, Opposite like they came out
and flat out Like John, spytech THE gm of The
raiders flat out said my kids, said he's moving out
IF i don't Take Ashton genty like like they were so.
(01:03:08):
Transparent and if you look at The raiders over the
course of this, board what's interesting to me is in
the first round they didn't get. Cute they just they
took you, know a player that ABSOLUTELY i think helps
them today right. Now and the funny thing is this
what it drives me, Crazy And i'm interested in your
thoughts on this because we sit here all the time we, say,
well you can't you're going to waste a running. Back
(01:03:29):
what's the point you're not even a position to take
advantage of a running. BACK i guess my question is,
like when you are picking in the top, ten shouldn't
you just take a dynamic player if he's? There for
if you don't have game wreckers and there's one available for,
you why would you not take. Him does it mean
that The raiders are suddenly a Super bowl?
Speaker 5 (01:03:47):
Team?
Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
No BUT i guess my question to the world is
what person did you think The raiders were going to
take it six that would make them drastically better that
they should have taken instead Of ashton. Genty there isn't
an answer to, This so, like we work so hard
to devalue the running back position THAT i find it.
Laughable at some, point when you had the worst rushing
attack in THE nfl last year and the second worst
(01:04:08):
the year, before maybe you just need to go out
and just try to infuse.
Speaker 2 (01:04:12):
Talents, yes, LOOK i get the analytic piece of, it.
Right the analytic piece, says, well you're only going to
GET x amount of years productive years from your, back,
right particularly like the high volume franchise, back you could
to get four, years right if you're lucky and so
(01:04:38):
you preferably would want him where you're as one of
the final. Pieces but, like that's not reality when you're
building a, team that's not. Reality to, Go i'm gonna
wait on the running, Back, well mind you not all
running backs are the, same, Right, like So Ashton genty
(01:04:59):
is a stun and you know, what we also don't
take an A. Caul teams can turn things around quickly
in this. League the league is built to go from
bad to good to very good right. Quickly so so
you get him now and not two years from. Now
(01:05:20):
who cares the? Kid like that kid's a, player he's a.
Baller it's a great it's a great. Pick he's the
best player on the. Board he's a difference. Maker it's
a no.
Speaker 1 (01:05:30):
Brainer and then you, Also anthony got to look at
the rest of what they did in the draft to
figure out their, logic because if your logic is Skip Ashton,
genty it would likely have been to Take Armaan, membu for,
example the tackle out Of, missouri.
Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
WHO i really went to The.
Speaker 1 (01:05:43):
JETS i really like he went the next pick to The.
Jets but think about, this what Happened day. Two The
raiders had an early pick in the second, round right,
is they had what should have been a very early
pick in the second, round and everybody, Thought, okay The
raiders are about To some people saying The raiders are
about to Take obviously they're going to Take. Shador that's
what everybody's trying to figure, out, right that they traded,
(01:06:04):
down and in, fact they traded down into a slot
that Allowed miami to take an offensive. Lineman and then
the next time that they were up on the clock
where they could have then, drafted they traded down again
and another offensive lineman was. TAKEN i think what The
raiders told you over the course of the, days the
two days they at the end of the third round
back to back, picks they took two project. TACKLES i
think what The raiders told you is that they're pretty
(01:06:25):
comfortable with their offensive line this. Year now the world
may not agree with, that but my, god if they
didn't like offensive line in the first round and the
second round they traded down twice when they could have
taken the best lineman available on the, board that only
cements why they Took ashton. Genty to, me it became
very clear through the process of their evaluation they knew
they needed wide, receiver which they got in the second,
(01:06:46):
round but they obviously didn't Love ted McMillan enough to
want to take him. There they didn't love any of
the offensive lineman enough to take any of the ones
that were there in front of, them over and over
and over. Again that only makes it clearer that at
that point on the, board Obviously Ashton genty was the
right choice for. Them So i'm not gonna fault taking
WHAT i say to you last, year we hung Out
saturday after the draft AND i, Said i'm not going
(01:07:06):
to fault The raiders for taking the best player. Available
that's a game wrecord and that happened to be Brock.
Powers now did that help them win a bunch of?
Speaker 5 (01:07:12):
Games?
Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
No but does that make that a bad? Pick Hell,
No like we got to we've got to pull our
heads out of our rear ends at some point when
when it comes to the way we talk about bad
teams acquiring good.
Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
Players, yeah especially since the rebuild is a. Process, right
it's a. Year you're not just picking one. Play it's
not basketball where you know one player could dramatically impact
what you're going to look, at, right you, know.
Speaker 1 (01:07:40):
And Like gino thrown to Brock, bowers and now you
know they get the best is the wide receiver they
took in the second, round a PICK i absolutely freaking
loved right. So and then on top of all of,
that With Jacobe, myers who had over a thousand yards
last year going into the last years contract and then
Using Ashton, genty, like if You're chip Kelly, man you
(01:08:01):
got everything you need to put competent offense out and
The raiders didn't have that last. YEAR i feel like
The raiders offense today as we sit is light years
ahead of where it was three months. Ago that is
a dream situation for a.
Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
Team, YEAH i tell you one THING i knew from the.
Jump the Minute brady jumps, in he's gonna impact.
Speaker 1 (01:08:23):
Things, well and you know how he didn't impact things
the way everybody thought because how often for the last
several months HAVE i been just crammed down my throat
has been the narrative That Tom brady is a mentor
To Shador, sanders and because he Loves, shador they're gonna Take.
SHADOR i think what you learned through the course of
this is That John, Spytech Pete carroll And Tom brady working,
(01:08:46):
together have a real understanding of what they're trying to.
Build and, remember they didn't pass On. Shador once they
passed if you include the trades and the players they,
selected they had seven opportunities to Draft Shadoor sanders and
they didn't do it any of those. Times so for
everybody that's ot there and Said Tom brady's gonna force
them to Take shador, Standers Mark davis Loves shador so
much he's gonna force them to do. It, nah you know.
(01:09:09):
What And Tom brady's obviously an influence to grown ups
in the. ROOM i was a. STATIC i was a.
Static you know.
Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
What part of that's immediately, again what we've learned is
the media creation and that whole narrative that The raiders
are gonna Take shador was a media. Creation, well we're
going to extrapolate because Publicly tom Loves, Shador raiders are
(01:09:39):
going that's the place for. Him, well that's. Ludicrous. IMAGINE i,
mean he might like the, kid and he might care
about the, kid he might have connected with the. Kid
it doesn't mean he's going to build his franchise around the.
Speaker 1 (01:09:51):
Kid he can still be a mentor to the. Kid,
Too like for all we, know, right he's still reaching
out and, saying, hey REMEMBER i wasn't picked until day three,
too plenty of. Opportunity and by the, way the league is.
Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
Filled that the league is with people don't realize is
that it's a people, game, Right and so that league
is a. Fraternity first of, all the they're, like prove this.
Way there's gonna be somewhere In texas in the next
(01:10:24):
month or, so there's gonna be a group of ALL o.
Linemen it's Called Offensive Line, masterminds and linemen from every
team go to convention and they all go and they
all talk ABOUT o line, stuff and they work out
and they have symposiums and they talk about technique and
(01:10:46):
the whole. Thing and In, vegas thanks To, crosby they're
gonna do the same. Thing they do the same thing
with the with THE d line, guys and it's called The. Sack, yeah,
yeah you know about, it, Right and they'll all go.
There so it's a. Fraternity guys care about galic players
(01:11:08):
and where they. Are it doesn't either going to build
your team around. Things but we have this weird narrative
because we're not on the inside where we like to
extrapolate and it's always.
Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
Wrong what if we were as a, society MAYBE i
think we're gonna have this meta conversation a lot this,
Morning like the process of draft analysis that is consumed is.
Broken like you cannot have a player that was projected
to be number two overall by some people slip all
the way down to the, fourth, fifth sixth wherever he's
(01:11:43):
gonna end up and not believe that something in this
process was. Broken, Right AND i will say this maybe
today moving, forward one of the lessons we should all
learn is there should never be another mock where somebody
tries to predict what they think a team is going to,
do because that's where danger comes. In if you want
to mock it and tell me what you would do
(01:12:05):
if you were THE gm of The, raiders who would
you pick? Here that's, fine, like go, AHEAD i can't
stop you from doing. It but the concept of, okay
are we doing what we think or what we think
the team's gonna do because you know this is what
the team typically does in these, situations it allows all
of these variables to come in the air narrative, Changers
like that's where things got dangerous with The Raid, like
(01:12:25):
as A raiders, FAN i walked into the draft in
our production meeting For, yahoo and they, said what do
you think The raider's gonna? Do are they gonna Take?
Shador AND i, LAUGHED i literally laughed out, loud AND
i said, no because this team needs a running, back
this team needs a wide, receiver this team needs offensive line,
help this team needs corner. Help, Right like you could
see that from a mile, away BECAUSE i, live, eat
and breed this team every single day of my. Life
(01:12:47):
what did they do in the? Draft they took a running,
back they took a wide, receiver they took a, corner
they took a couple of offensive. Linemen, like it's not
that hard to. See the problem is when you're churning
out clickbait, constantly and one way to do it is
to predict what somebody else is going to. Do that's
such an inexact. SCIENCE i don't, KNOW i don't know
(01:13:07):
how you ever do. It like that's that part of
the process is wildly. Broken, yeah well it's it's, stupid
is what it. Is it's.
Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
Silly by the, Way grant is a great, pick the
kid From bill From william And. Mary, yeah, yeah it
was funny bold THAT i were watching his tape And i'm, like,
Oh i'm looking at him because he, knows And i'm, going,
dude he looks my eyes deceived. Me he's, like, no,
man there's a reason why there's a lot of heat on.
(01:13:37):
Him you he could he could be developed into something.
Speaker 1 (01:13:42):
Good my phone actually blew up more more Than Ashton.
Genty my phone blew up from people that know what
they're talking about over that. Pick, so, yeah a. Thousand
they got value on that, pick and they got a,
Future they got a future piece of their offensive.
Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
Line, yeah big. Time all, right come, back continue our
look around the league and how each of the teams
did keep it out over the draft right here On
Fox Sports. Radio all, right Fellas Jason Fitz Anthony garto
from The Fox Sports radio studios going over the draft
(01:14:21):
team by. Team, well we've made it down to The.
D's we Did. Dallas we skipped to The raiders from my,
man and that's What.
Speaker 1 (01:14:30):
I'm just going to keep bringing The raiders up ball.
Show y'all can just deal with. That i'm happy Now
i've kept my team to. MYSELF i, mean we'll get
to we'll get to them. Later but all they do is. Draft,
well all, RIGHT i mean there are there there are
certain franchises that you just, say of, course like that's
how we should grade their draft every. Years of, course
(01:14:52):
there are, certain of course. Franchises The eagles are one
where you just get to there and you're, like of,
course and tone matters. Like there are certain franchises usually
that you're, like of, course because they blew.
Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
It, no The.
Speaker 1 (01:15:02):
Eagles every, time you're, like, really really that?
Speaker 2 (01:15:04):
Happened, Okay Jod campbell falls all the way, there.
Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
UNREAL i cannot wrap my head around. IT i won't
be able to wrap my head around. It and it's
an absolute massive home.
Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
Run yeah. Huge all, right let's go to The. Broncos all,
Right john Day, baron you get uh with the number
twentieth pick of the first.
Speaker 1 (01:15:25):
ROUND a surprise, there real. QUICK i will, SAY i
think that's a great. Pick that is a great they
they aggressively went out and said we are going to
have a shutdown. SECONDARY i think it's a great. Pick
but so many people are, like, Oh Sean payton's gonna
go get His omari And hampton they could have and
it chows not too in that. Situation SO i Think
shade is a little bit of a surprise pick for,
that BUT i think it's an absolute just just the
(01:15:47):
hammer of the gods secondary, now LIKE I, god that's
a good pick for.
Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
That, WELL i thought you had to do, that you know,
Again John day is a perfect fit DOWN i mean out.
THERE i think that's what you need to. Do then
they go get the. Back. Now harvey's interesting is interesting
because remember They Central florida had a down, year and
(01:16:14):
before that when their line was, there it was. Intact
he had a good he was. Good, Right you're only
as good as what's in front of you as a
Back SO i like Getting harvey and that.
Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
Spot, YEAH i did too a. Lot AND i think
we have to also understand That harvey is part of
the voltron of the running back persitions Like Sean payton
doesn't love to take one person and just absolutely kill
them in the, backfield you, know for, sir for, sure
if they, had you, know reached up for astroon genty
like people thought they, might that might be a different.
Situation but this is a really good running back, piece
(01:16:49):
and so understanding that that's how they build the. POSITION
i think that's a really good. Pick for, Them so
you know they were they were two for two on
that and went three for three when they had A Pat.
Bryant that's a white receiver THAT i, Mean Sean payton
is gonna have a blast with.
Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
Him, yeah, yeah especially al Bow nix is. Blossomed, yeah
you just give another weapon And Pat bryan's.
Speaker 1 (01:17:13):
It, YEAH i MEAN I i. Can't and Then Saveyon
jones their third round pick edge. Rusher again that at
that point in the third, round you're drafting a little
bit for, traits, right so you know this this wasn't
a need for, Them SO i felt like this was
a good. Pick and at this, point you, know in
a deep edge rash edge rush, DRAFT i think they
(01:17:35):
did a nice job of getting somebody that could be
one of their DEVELOPMENT i don't think he steps in
day one and he's you, know coming at everybody At
Max crosby's, level BUT i do think he has the
opportunity to come in and be very good for.
Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
Them. Uh in a draft of the fat guys of
the big, boys The lions go, big Big Tyleek. Williams
you get your big stuffer defensive tackle three and thirty
five Pounds Ohio state and Then tate. Ratline you get your, guard,
(01:18:12):
right so you get your big boy out Of.
Speaker 1 (01:18:14):
Georgia, yeah which, they by the, way they. Need and
Again i'll go back to The georgia offensive. LINEMAN i
think you have to you have to view them for
more than just one. Year last year was a bad
year for that offensive. Line but, man they get beef
up front in the middle in the first and then
that offensive line part of. It let's remember the. Lines
who are they? Are who they are in part because
they have one of the best offensive lines in the.
League but you, know they lost some, players they've got
(01:18:36):
some aging, issues like they need to make sure that
they're protecting that for the. FUTURE i thought this was
really foundationally, smart especially given the fact new coordinators on
both sides of the ball for The, Lions, like let's
make everybody's job easy and just get large human beings
they can play on bull trap.
Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
Brenches, yeah trench, warfare, man that's what it's what it's all.
About and Then. Packers it was. Great it was actually
it was actually a cool moment that they finally draft
a receiver in the first, round that after all the
fighting and, battle we have all number one. Receivers they
(01:19:14):
finally relent and Agdo Matthew golden.
Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
And look they HAD i mean drops were an issue
for this team over the. Course, yeah they have a
very packed wide Receive they drafted two wide receivers in
the first three. Rounds they have a packed wide receiver.
Room AND i think this Is lafleur the second, One
savian And williams a little bit more of like a
all around weapon. Dude but Like laflour got. Toys AND
i think they Made Jordan love's life. Easier and you.
Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
Saw it in the. Playoffs you didn't have Any you
didn't have a go to. Guy you can't have Old.
Speaker 1 (01:19:47):
Two's got's really well said by.
Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
You you need someone that the game's on the line
and tell what you. Want every time they In texas
needed a big, play they went To.
Speaker 1 (01:19:58):
GOLDEN i MEAN i think they nailed that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
Pic, Yeah i'm with. You all, right we'll take a
quick to. O we'll come right. Back the draft coverage
continues right here On Fox Sports. Radio Fox Sports Radio. Radio,
well good, morning good, morning good, morning good. Morning it's
seven am in the, east four am in the. West
(01:20:24):
It's day three of THE Nfl. Draft jason Fitz Anthony.
GUARGON i broke anything live from The Fox Sports Radio,
Studios Los. Angeles what's on? Tap? Fits what you? Got my?
Brother what do you doing? Today fitzy?
Speaker 1 (01:20:42):
Boy oh thank, God i'm done doing live? Stream so all,
right love love doing you, know the live stream. World
but like there's no, commercials, right so just.
Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
Talk me about. IT i, mean first, NIGHT i do
a three hour, show but he ended the three. HOURS
i have to go to the.
Speaker 1 (01:20:56):
Bathroom like that was last night or the FIRST i
particularly the. Drift so like we, Started i'm IN. La
that's where THE Who sports studios. Are so we're doing
the shows from our studios IN. La and So i'm
IN la and we started at whatever you know for five,
o'clock so we had to get in our seats by four.
Thirty well that was a six, hour you know show
(01:21:18):
essentially no, commercials and you, KNOW i have the bladder
of a. Child so like you reach a spot where
by the end of the, show so and then you,
KNOW i GO i go running, in go running, in
and the bathroom's already been sectioned off and like somebody's
cleaning the bathroom at the end of the. Show last.
NIGHT i did you know things are bad when you're
halfway through a show And i'm looking And i'm, like,
okay there are eighteen picks. Left at five minutes per,
(01:21:40):
pick that, is that's ninety. MINUTES i have an hour
and a half. LEFT i mean one of the guys
that was sitting on the couch next to, me he
was rocking back and forth like a little child by
the end of the broadcast and, like we're waiting for
the last pick to be announced it and he said on,
Air he's, like, man this thing needs to be. ANNOUNCED
i have got to go to the. Bathroom AND i
just looked at. Him i'm, like, brother we Still i'll
(01:22:00):
have like three topics we're gonna do after the pick is,
announced and he just you just saw the light leave his,
eyes like it's just a lot Of So i'm thank
god they didn't ask us to Do day three of the,
draft Because day, three, like if you are Watching day,
Three i'll be. Honest i'll be honest here all. Right
WHEN i was watching the draft every year of my,
life WHICH i love the, DRAFT i was. WATCHING i
remember yelling AT espn constantly On day three of the,
(01:22:22):
draft And i'm like these. Morons i'm yelling the whole.
Time i'm, Like i'm. SITTING i don't need your help
with the first. Round i've read everything that can be.
READ i don't need your help breaking down the first.
Round you know WHEN i need your help in the sixth,
round when Somebody i've never heard of is being, Taken
that's WHEN i need your. HELP i used to yell at,
him call them all sorts of. Names THEN i got
to the spot in my career at the time AT
espn WHERE i was covering the third day of the,
(01:22:43):
draft and you, know all these years we get frustrated that,
like why are you revisiting what The raiders already.
Speaker 2 (01:22:48):
Did in the?
Speaker 1 (01:22:48):
Draft tell me about this? Guy, hell nobody knows like
so then like day three of the, draft when you're,
covering you're, like, yep don't know this. Guy so what's
happening is you're, like, hey let's bring up what The
raiders have done so, far because there are so few
people that can aptly break down the sixth round of
the draft that you're buying time for people to pull
up their notes on everybody they. Have SO i became
(01:23:09):
the very FRAUD i used to make fun of AS
i was covering the draft is the ninth Year i've done,
it and NOW i realized that there are times you
look at your analysts and you'll, see like a their
eyes glaze over and you're, like, yep he's got nothing
on this. Guy it's just it's just what you gotta
do because there are so many, players it's.
Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
Impossible well that's, it and you, know once you get into,
today you know it's it's a. Lot how Much NOW
i got a? Load you, know we talk about laud the.
Analysts so my Man baldy is gonna be doing a
lot of work for today FOR Nfl. NETWORK i know
he SPENT i was with him for a little bit
(01:23:45):
and Then i'm, like he's grinding away at all those you,
know all the all the third day.
Speaker 1 (01:23:53):
Guys and that's its. Own LIKE i will give a
massive shout out to a dear, Friend Field. Yates i've
never met anybody that's working harder In september on the
draft Than, Field and my, god it shows right like
he is genuinely a guy that every week he's just
adding to the information he's already. Accumulated he treats it
(01:24:15):
truly like he is a professional. Scout he was a
scout before he got TO espn in a scouting. Department
he treats it like a, scout building a book every single,
week and like that is the only those.
Speaker 2 (01:24:27):
Are the great ones because you're you you Need like
this notion that you start at the In january is.
Stupid it's, like come, on, man you know you you
missed the whole unfolding of the season.
Speaker 1 (01:24:45):
Well and you just. Can't if you do simple, math
there are going to be two hundred and fifty seven,
Brothers so two hundred and fifty seven, players many of
which have played three or four seasons of college. Football
so now you have you, know if you wanted to.
Watch and let's say they average ten games a. Year
so if you have two hundred and fifty seven, players
(01:25:05):
then you have two five hundred and seventy games from
one season to. Breakdown if you have four games four
years of, content you can have up to ten thousand
games that you are trying to watch to get ready
for THE nfl. DRAFT i say That hercule number because
you've got to be a guy Like baldy that has
watched more, films like you've got to be a quick
processor of tape in order to have any shot at doing,
(01:25:27):
this which is WHY i. Think you, know if there's
anything that people can continue to learn right now is
if you really feel like you're watching somebody that's, consistently
always just wrong about all of their takes on guys
that are. Drafted not mock. Drafts i'm just talking, about,
like are they wrong in their analysis of? Players hold
those people accountable, repeated, like start watching other, people because
(01:25:49):
the only way we ever stop this is if we
start to reward the people Like, baldy Like. Field there's
a handful of them that actually put in the work
to watching the amount of tape you have to.
Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
Watch, yeah, yeah that's exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
Right and if you believe That Shador sanders should have
been the number one pick in the, DRAFT i would
challenge maybe you didn't watch enough. Tape, well throwing that straight, all.
Speaker 2 (01:26:12):
We need to circle back to this just to for
a little, bit because.
Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
It's the biggest story in draft. History this is the, Biggest,
like this is the.
Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
BIGGEST i struggle with it a little bit only BECAUSE
i think it was media, created like the biggest story
man years. AGO i don't, know, DUDE i don't even recognize.
MEDIA i don't even know WHAT i. Mean we always
taught a certain, thing, right you need three sources to
go with something, right your editor needs to to you know,
(01:26:44):
trust you get, trust resources you share only with your.
Editor there's no. Agenda you take yourself out of. It
you know you're not the. Story whatever you do do
not become the. Story and like all these years, later
it's the opposite of.
Speaker 1 (01:27:00):
EVERYTHING i don't want to SO i will choose not
to say WHO i was talking to or about BECAUSE
i don't want to break any. Friendships but last, night
AS i was talking to someone post, draft they, said you,
know the crazy thing is that you heard it so
much Regarding shador that you just started to, wonder are
(01:27:21):
my sources not being honest with? Me and then you
saw it from so many people that were you think
well plugged in that you literally started to look around and, think,
well they must know SOMETHING i. Don't and it forces
people to continue to do more and more. Work and
this PERSON i was talking to, SAID i just kept
looking at, it, saying, Man i've got a third round
grade on, Him LIKE i JUST i don't understand What i'm.
(01:27:42):
Missing and the teams That i'm talking to don't seem
to have that level of, interest AND i must be missing.
Anything and that person, said what we learned last night
is there some people that will put on a microphone
and just say. Anything AND i don't think there's any
Other if you are saying that you have talked to,
people and you are saying that you you your job
is to anticipate the, boards and you were you thought
(01:28:05):
he was going to be a top five. Pick then
you just told on yourself over the course of the
last forty eight. Hours and that's that's. REAL i don't
want to be. Harsh i'm not trying to throw any
of our peers under the, bus but that's just that's.
REAL i think a lot of people told on themselves
yesterday over the course of the last.
Speaker 2 (01:28:19):
Time AND i got to bring this, up all, right because, listen,
HEY i think he's a character and he's he'll go
down in, history you know with THE nfl, draft, right you,
know from the inception OF espn when the draft, was you,
know in a hotel room type of. Thing Mel kiper.
Speaker 5 (01:28:43):
He, was.
Speaker 2 (01:28:45):
And, LISTEN i got all the respect in the, world you, know,
Whatever god bless. Him he built something, right like you,
KNOW i, THINK i think the world of that that
all said he was. Ridiculous he's been ridiculous over the
first two days of this, draft constantly bringing it back To.
(01:29:06):
SHADOR i, mean it's embarrassing and he's ruining the draft quite,
FRANKLY i have to turn him. OFF i gotta Put
i'll go back and forth THE nfl network BECAUSE i
love THE nfl network And i'm AN espn. Guy you,
Know i'll watch it right Like i'll do. IT i
can't watch. IT i can't listen to. HIM i love Lou,
(01:29:27):
ridick you know the whole. THING i didn't know every
five second shut.
Speaker 1 (01:29:32):
Up and so you, know full, DISCLOSURE i was on
there the entire. Time SO i didn't, hear, RIGHT i
didn't hear, it BUT i you, know and in the
studio we chose to put THE espn broadcast on THE
theaec broadcast ON i should, say SO i didn't see,
it BUT i want to support my, friends and you,
KNOW i love WHAT espn does for the draft. BROADCAST
(01:29:55):
i think the machine that they put into this stuff
is really. Incredible it IS i don't know how you
can be this wrong if you're Mel kiper and maintain.
Credibility like that's if we're being honest for a. Second you,
know saying that you Think klawson is going to be
a star, quarterback that's a bad, take, right we all
(01:30:17):
Know clawson is a bad, take and we play back
someone else bad. Takes to think some to have somebody
ranked this number five on your, board and to have
somebody ranked this the number one quarterback on your board
and have them not taken at all in the first
three days at this, point that's so, unjustifiable like we
(01:30:37):
we are, rightfully SO i we all go At steven
a now when he says stupid things that are just
factually incorrect on, air because at some point you have.
To you have to just the man makes it and
is going to make twenty million dollars a, year and
he can't get basic facts right half the time when
he's sitting ON, tv even though he has an entire
stats in infogroup that is there to support him and
give him. Information it drives me. Crazy that being, said
(01:31:00):
we need to hold one of the nicest guys in
sports in Mel, kiper accountable to the same. Thing he
has got every resource available to. Him he is expected
to be at least in the realm of where teams
and analysts and you, know people behind the scenes break
these guys. Down he is expected to live in that
universe and to be that far off at that. POSITION
(01:31:23):
i JUST i struggle to know how Mel Kiper junior
will get the trust back from the mock draft and
the draft, community like from drafters that love, watching for
people that love watching the. Draft how will you ever
trust What Mel kuiper says about a quarterback again when
he has been this wrong about how he Views shador
and how obviously the league Views.
Speaker 2 (01:31:44):
Shador, YEAH i mean that's if you ever if you
put him on that level begin with, RIGHT i.
Speaker 1 (01:31:50):
Mean they must click on. It people click on, it like.
Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
He gets he's a draft, entertainer, Right like you, KNOW
i don't, go oh my, God mel likes the.
Speaker 1 (01:32:01):
DRAFT i mean, no but over a million, people over
a million people watched in the first five hours of
their their draft their, draft not not their, show their draft.
Podcast the first episode of The draft podcast had over
a million views in the first five hours that it
went up this. Year, like there is nobody that has
more cachet with his, name but like what do you? Do,
(01:32:24):
LIKE i feel like the question has to be, asked
how we this? Wrong have you lost your? Fastball? Like
what what? Happened and.
Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
You ever have a? FASTBALL i mean like that? FAIR i,
mean come, ON i, MEAN i mean. Opinions that's why the,
draft that's why you can have a. Guy that's why
it's hard for REAL nfl paid executives to get it.
Right the fun there's no such thing as some draft, guru,
(01:32:55):
right you got teams to get it. Right and you
know it's. Funny it's, like let's take The eagles, right
because everybody's, like, oh, Figures eagles get it. Right Howie
howie The, wizard, Right Howie. POTTER i was joking, around
was calling Him Howie.
Speaker 1 (01:33:11):
Potter that's, amazing by the, way you should coin.
Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
That so, No i've known how we for twenty five,
years right since he came To philadelphia and he was
just he was a he was like a half an
intern From university Of florida who was Writing Joe banner
letters and, like you, know we came up during the ranks.
(01:33:34):
TOGETHER i was in the media piece of it and
he was on the football. Side we were both young
And there was a guy Named Tom hecker Got rest Of,
soul who was On andy. Staff we were, big you,
KNOW i was An andy fan and he taught me
more about the game than Anybody i've ever encountered because
he allowed access and sat with, me AND i understood
(01:33:55):
the game through his, eyes which was a. GIFT i
remember when this town used to Destroy howie destroy it
for like horrible, mistakes like they're you, know you can
go back and, look not, everybody not all those picks were.
Great And god love him because he works, hard he,
(01:34:18):
cares And i'm happy for his. Success but like this
notion that there's draft gurus and this is someone that
has been doing it for twenty five, years, Right like
that's seen it. All that's been every, combine that's, evaluate, scouts,
reports like all that, stuff, right, practices, coverage you, know
(01:34:39):
all this. Stuff it's. Hard let. Alone you, know when
you're ON, tv it's like there's this air OF i
know when it's just. Stupid you don't, know first of,
all you're not as educated as any of these real football. People,
Right you're a fake football guy that stands there and
(01:35:01):
gives an, opinion, RIGHT i, mean no different than you
AND i, Right like you, KNOW i mean as much
As i'll go TO nfl films and sit With, baldy you,
Know i'm a fake football. Guy i'm not a real football.
Guy i'm not no teams, right it cares about my.
Opinion we all, think we all think it and get.
It but that's why that's a.
Speaker 1 (01:35:21):
Joke the hardest part in all of, this like, again
lessons learned over the course of this. WEEKEND i think
it's becoming a. Theme but like the hardest part about
all of it, is you're, right but people flock to the.
Content and then what you have are people flocking to content,
that obviously this year particularly was wildly ill. Informed and
(01:35:42):
then you also have this weird clapback culture that exists
on social. Media and this is something to talk To
Charles robinson And Nate tice a lot about as we
were doing our draft. Work the number of times that
both of them have stood up and, SAID i don't
Think chadour's a first round. Quarterback he's not going to
go in the first. Round and the first thing That
TWITTER x and the entire community wants to do to
(01:36:03):
them is and turn around and just say you're anf and,
moron you don't know what you're talking. About you're a
piece of. Garbage like and you, Know tys talked a
lot about the fact that he's repeatedly, said ALL i
can do is speak to my. Evaluation i'm not gonna
speak to what you. Know he talks to, Teams he's,
LIKE i, KNOW i know the quarterbacks that He i'll
give him so much. Credit in our first production, meeting he,
(01:36:24):
Said cleveland doesn't Want. Shador they Are cleveland and The
saints both Prefer shuck Over. Shadoor and it's not even.
Close they, like he was clear about, that they both
they both Prefer Jackson dart Over. Shadoor like he was
clear about these. Things and then all he can say is,
like this is my, evaluation and he got destroyed by
everybody along the process because, oh, well that can't be,
(01:36:45):
Accurate like everybody else. Thinks you just don't Like shadur
because you don't like his. Attitude you don't Like shadur
because you don't like his. Swagger you don't Like shadour
because he's. Black all of the things that had been
said to everybody that had anything negative to say About,
shador and the number of times that you. Know Even
Charles robinson, said All i'm doing is reporting to you
what teams are telling, me and teams are telling me
he's not a first round draft, pick and then people
(01:37:06):
take that as like some personal assault every step along the.
WAY i don't know how we're supposed to give accurate
information if accurate information is never. RECEIVED i don't know
how we're supposed to give accurate information if the people
that give in accurate information but do it in an
entertaining way can do it without recourse and only get
more popular and richer in the, Process like the whole
system of information becomes wildly. Broken this is a very meta,
(01:37:29):
conversation but the whole system of information and how it
gets processed by. Everybody the draft is an example of
how it's all. FAILED i think there are a lot
of people on social media today, that if they really
cared about good being good human, beings need to go
out and apologize to some of the people about some
of the things that they tweeted about their expertise based
On Shador sanders.
Speaker 2 (01:37:49):
Project how About Tom pallisero all right from THE nfl
network who got destroyed for the anonymous. Quote Now. Tom
i've Known tom for again thirty. YEARS i Mean tom's
a really good. Reporter tom's a, writer good. Reporter you,
(01:38:10):
know we get information all the time from. People they
aren't going to go on the, record, Right they're just
not going to do. It it doesn't serve them to
go on the, record but they feel in. Need like
we all have sources that we've known, people and it's
like anything, else you develop sources because you get along with.
(01:38:30):
People it's just you jive with them for whatever, reason
and then you have a friendship and there's a trust.
Factor and you, KNOW i go to a SOURCE a
AND i, go, hey what do you tell me the
real story With? Shador and then guy, GOES, i you,
know just you, know you can't use my name right,
Whatever and there's a reason why you. Can't it serves
(01:38:54):
that guy no purpose to go on the record with
you and to tell. You but he told that he
said exactly what the vibe, was the feeling, was And
tom proused it, right because that's what we. Do you're
condu with the.
Speaker 1 (01:39:11):
INFORMATION i will say this. Quickly WHEN i was touring
as music with a, PODCAST i developed friendships with players
and some people that work for, teams and they would
tell me. Anything we could sit down at a bar
and they would tell me absolutely. Anything the day that
it was announced THAT i got a job AT, espn
that completely, changed and the number of times That i'd
(01:39:31):
be talking to somebody And i'd be, like, so what's going,
On and the first thing they'd say is are we
on the? Record to re off the, Record i'm the
farthest thing from a journalist AND i am low on
the total. Pool and it's just a reminder that even as,
friends people were, like, wait we, wait are we talking right?
Now where my name's going to get used or my
name isn't going to get? Used AND i would warn
sportsmans everywhere that say put your name on, it you
will just simply stop getting information if you force every
(01:39:53):
person to get put their name on. It, instead trust
the people that are actually giving you anonymous reports that
turn out to be, true Like Tom pellis obviously, did.
Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
Right like you don't spend years and years and years
doing something to throw it away for some stupid clickbait
for the last three. Seconds, YEAH i mean it was.
FUNNY i heard that The eagles had a green light
on green, right and because they didn't take. IT i
get a bad. Reporting that's fake reporting by. You i'm, like,
(01:40:25):
no it's. Not just because they didn't take them doesn't
mean they they didn't have a green. LIGHT i know
that a green. Light i'm not putting it out there
for a stupid click or to get a, Follow like that's.
Dumb like you do this forever you're you, know you're
taught a certain way and this is what you, Do
like you got to be able to trust. That. Now
i'm not saying that some people don't do it and
(01:40:47):
are you, know skirting the treading the lines, Right but you,
know for a guy Like Tom Bella serr's been doing
it for a long, time you got to give them the,
years earn, it the benefit of the. Doubt rind Of,
Fellas Jason, Fitz Anthony gargana right. There Fox Sports.

Cigar like you want to talk about a place THAT
i do not Belong anthony garganam a private membership club
(01:41:39):
where you have to drop a name to get in
and somebody walks you to this like outdoor patio. Areas
i'm walking through all these like they were staring at
me from the MINUTE i walked. IN i didn't belong.
There but this is the MUSIC i. Need this is
the MUSIC i need While i'm doing.
Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
That so these like that, song you, know it's like
a you know it's in The mob movies at. All
so every morning our fine production team Of brie And Mighty,
mark SO i always messed with. THEM i give Them
mark AND i Give Brie mob movie lines and she
(01:42:14):
does the movie lines in Her valley girl, voice, Right, Bri,
YES i.
Speaker 3 (01:42:20):
Do that is something THAT i do during the.
Speaker 1 (01:42:24):
BREAKS i want to give us something like can we get?
One can we like just do The franking Five?
Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
Angels one? Lies?
Speaker 3 (01:42:36):
See AND i said THAT i was like a goldfish
BECAUSE i would hear like the first five seconds and
THEN i was, like what what do you want me to?
Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
Say she was she's good at, it trust, me she's
got stage.
Speaker 1 (01:42:47):
FRIGHT i feel like we need to do, this Like,
BRION i need to coordinate in ways that we can
just just Enrage Anthony gargano LIKE i just want to
come in and be like say hello to my little.
Friends and it's just, like.
Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Oh that's. Awesome that's. Great you. Know i'm telling you
she does that and you would be great at it.
Too it's. Amazing this is a jew when you go
in your show, tunes thing that.
Speaker 1 (01:43:13):
Works it's so funny because like you've you've Mentioned Dollar
Shave club a few. Times you always talking about being,
smooth and like That's Anthony. Gargano he's, like you, know
he reads to you About Dollar Shape club and you're, like,
yeah you know what you imagine like like a thirteen
year old kid that's just figuring out how to shave.
You Like i'm gonna be, cool Right like that that's
the way works. ME i say the same, thing and
Like Dollar Shave it's just, like let me tell you
(01:43:34):
about just shaving my arms from my. Tattoos like there's
just like there's a level of cool factor that you
bring to the room that AND i do not. Have
that's Why brie AND i get along so. Well like
we're we're we're over in the like we're over in
the side of the Classroo we're, like oh, man we
go on the field trip with everybody, Else like that's
that's where.
Speaker 2 (01:43:50):
We knew it was like.
Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
That But i'm WHAT i know now.
Speaker 1 (01:43:52):
You AND i are both side of the class people
that were, like oh, man we got the invite to
the cool kids. Party i'm not gonna lie like that
part of what we. Share we share this, no come,
on like we got a, note like we all know
where we. Are like if we were still in high,
school you know which one of us on this show
On friday would come in and be, like my parents
(01:44:14):
are out of town having a few people, Over, anthony
let's time For anthony's gonna come, over and you AND
i are going to be in our chairs looking over
At anthony talking to everybody. Else now Mony mark is
going to be sitting in the back, laughing and then
immediately he's going to get the invite because everybody likes,
him and you AND i are going to be sitting
on the side and everybody likes, this but we're not,
sure like are we liked enough to get? There like we're,
LIKE i think we're going to get the invite and we're,
(01:44:35):
waiting and Then Justice gargan was about to walk out
of the. Room he turns. Around he's, like you're, coming,
right and we're like and then we play. Cool we're, like,
yeah we're. Coming that's.
Speaker 3 (01:44:43):
Me we've got the varsity guy with the jacket and. Stuff,
yeah for, sure the cool.
Speaker 1 (01:44:49):
Guy you. Know we're maybe more of the show, tunes show.
Speaker 3 (01:44:53):
Tunes, Yeah i'm the choir.
Speaker 2 (01:44:54):
Girl, no not at. All, no, no, no, no no.
No by the, way draft coverage On Fox Sports radio
is brought to you by Ship. Station that's, Right calm
To chaos with the shipping software that delivers use Code
sports for free trialshipstation dot. Com that shipstation dot com Code.
(01:45:15):
Sports all, right my, brother let's let's get back to
uh going team by team AND i kind of look
at what we're what we're about here. Again i'll reiterate
this BECAUSE i think you nailed it AND i want
you to say it but what was this draft. About
(01:45:36):
it was not About Shador. Sanders it was.
Speaker 1 (01:45:40):
About calculated, decisions understanding how to build the best foundation
for a football team that you possibly. CAN i think
that it just continues to hit me that every Single.
Sunday by late in the, season we're sitting here, saying,
man that offensive line is just not good. Enough and
what did we just? See we just watched the best
(01:46:02):
quarterback in the league right now get absolutely creamed in
The Super, bowl in part because he didn't have an
offensive line in front of him that could help him
take it on a defense that was built to absolutely.
Dominate in a copycat, league you also have to look
around and, say, okay what are the where are the?
Opportunities and, man we just we saw smart decisions made
by so many. Franchises we saw bad teams be calculated
(01:46:26):
and smart and, aware aware of where they are and
aware of where they need to, go aware of the
process of doing. It LIKE i tell you this all the, time,
brother and you know, this and everybody knows like my
weight loss journey or, whatever like we live in a nozembic.
Society we live in a world where everybody just wants
to stick a needle in their stomach and then lose
a bunch of. Weight and that works for a lot of,
people but it's not always. SUSTAINABLE i think sometimes we
(01:46:48):
live in this. WELL. Cj stroud was, great and The
texans turned, around and Then Jayden daniels was great And
washington turned. Around so, like that's what we want for every.
Team but at some, level you've got to go in
and do the. Work you got to do things the right.
Way it's, boring it's. Monotonous you gotta start eating less
and working. Out you gotta take ten thousand, steps all
these things that you know you gotta, do and it takes,
(01:47:08):
time and a lot of people don't want to do.
THAT i felt like this was a draft where teams finally,
understood you know, WHAT i need to make foundational changes
to the way we do, business and we need to
go out and get players that can actually cement our
future from that. Basis and that's WHY i think it
was a smart.
Speaker 2 (01:47:22):
Draft absolutely. Brilliant. BROTHER i think you know. THAT i
think you know it's funny BECAUSE i think that's why
you got people, saying, well it was a kind of
a boring. Draft, oh if you look at, it and
you're gonna go heavy on in the. TRENCHES o, LINE d.
Line it ain't, sexy, Right, like it ain't go, wow
(01:47:45):
quarterbacks and receivers and running. BAGS i, mean this is
how you build a. Team but we toll all the time.
Though you gotta build the, trenches and everybody says the
same thing until draft day comes and they're taking the
force feeding receivers and skill.
Speaker 1 (01:48:02):
Guys it, also Like, anthony so much of the conversation is,
like this isn't a great. DRAFT i think that's. Wrong
this is. Okay maybe it's not an epic draft full
Of hall of, famers and we don't know. Yet we'll
find out over. Time but at its, foundation this draft
was about. Depth this draft was about hey, man there's
(01:48:22):
a lot Of, sure there's little warts on a lot
of these, players BUT i mean there's a lot of offensive,
linemen there's a lot of edge, rushers and what do
you always need more of people that can protect the
quarterback and people that can get out of the after the,
quarterback like you, know and then starting particularly in the second,
round you got to run on some of these running
backs because there are good players out, There LIKE i,
think you, know we. Talked we've talked a lot today
about how narratives shaped so much. Opinion one narrative coming
(01:48:46):
in was that, like, well this draft. Sucks that's not
that's not. Accurate this is a good draft with a
lot of good. Players AND i just wonder if maybe,
weirdly without some of the same sex, appeal less people
got involved in the room and more football guys just
picked football guys like, less you got less of the
haslms coming in and saying gotta do, this gotta do,
this and you got more of the organization, saying, hey
(01:49:09):
without all of this, disruption what helps our team? Today
and that just it feels so.
Speaker 2 (01:49:14):
Smart it. Does and, LOOK i think part of it
is THAT i think part of, it which shapes the
whole thing is the dearth of. Quarterbacks, yep that's that's,
true because everybody knows that. Conversation but you said it.
Earlier you, know it's. Hard it's not fun breaking down
a line. Play it's easy breaking down highlights of receivers
(01:49:38):
and backs and linebackers and corners and the whole, thing,
right but it's hard when you're talking about guys de
tackles and all your on. Line, yeah you, know setting
an edge that's, tough tough to make that.
Speaker 1 (01:49:55):
Sexy, well And i'm Still i'm, bewildered as we, say,
Like i'm really so fortunate in life, that you, know
for whatever, reason offensive linemen are some of the nicest
people you're ever going to meet in your, life and
they are. Great the offensive lineman That i've had the
opportunity to really become friends with have become so impactful
(01:50:17):
in my life in a million different. Ways i'm very.
LUCKING i take advantage of that every, year those. Friendships every,
year just trying to ask fat guys about fat. GUYS
i can't help but watch the draft every year and
wonder how in the hell anybody wants me to absorb
a draft broadcast WHERE i don't have somebody on there
that is that, guy, like it is such a unique
(01:50:38):
position to try and break. Down and you, KNOW i
feel sometimes for The schwartz brothers who go to social
media and try and defend some of the stupidity that
is out there constantly about offensive line, play and maybe
it's exhausting for them because everybody tells them they're. Wrong
and you, got you, know a guy sitting on his
couch that suddenly has figured out he knows more offensive
line than you, know somebody that played ten years in THE.
(01:51:00):
Nfl but one of the things that is baffling to
me and the great, ones, again the great ones in
this business are spending a lot of time talking to
those guys because it's hard to break. DOWN i think
this year was a real, reminder AND i hope next
year we see you, know all programs across all networks
take Take heed in This you could really use a
big boy on your set that can help break down big.
Boys because part of the reason this year's first ROUND
(01:51:22):
i think it was hard for people to break down
is that it was just offensive, lineman defensive, tackle offensive,
lineman defensive you, know it's.
Speaker 2 (01:51:29):
Like, yeah, yeah, listen that's why. Everybody everybody perked up
when gent was up, right when The raiders take gent
he it's, like hold you talk about it back, Right it's.
Easy it's all About Travis.
Speaker 1 (01:51:43):
Hunter god so, right, well and even so many fans
that are, like, wait we traded away from From Travis
hunter and we end up Picking Mason graham and it's, like, actually,
guys that's a great pick for this. Team Like Mason
graham is a great pick for this. Team and you,
know it's just it's just hard to explain that to
people because it's a video game world that we live.
(01:52:03):
In it's the concept, is as long AS i can
score a bunch of, Points i'm gonna be. Great AND
i would just ask, you how's that working for The Bengals.
Speaker 2 (01:52:11):
Sea you gotta be able to. Block you gotta be
able to defect the, quarterback and you gotta be able to.
Block that's. It those are two the yin and yang of.
It all, Right, well tick quick t, o we'll come
back continue our foray around each. Team what each? Team?
Dude we got that? Happened we got to sneak in
(01:52:33):
SOME NBA nhl. Plos THE Nhl, playoffs by the, way
epic last night in between some of the, DRAFT i
was checking in AND i ended With Kings oilers which was,
wild some good stuff and Tea wolves closing out The
lakers last. Night so we'll touch a little bit of
that next. Hour the brain will join us for some
(01:52:56):
picks fellas right, Here Fox Sports Fellas Jason Fitz Anthony
gargantto from The Fox Sports radio studios In Los, angeles
brought to you By Dollars Shave. Club but you're placing
get everything you need to stay smooth and smell. Great
visit dollashaveclub dot com slash. Draft you'll get twenty percent
(01:53:19):
off all your orders of twenty dollars or more plus.
Shipping That's dollars shaveclub Dot com Slash. Draft all, right my,
brother let's go through. It kind of go a little
rapid fire with some of the teams we. Like we
talked about it early to start the. Show But jacksonville
makes the big. MOVE i know they paid a hefty,
price so we like it From. CLEVELAND i also like
(01:53:41):
it From TONY bitselli standpoint in this. Sense you, got you,
know a hometown kid at a face of a forlorn FRANCHISE.
Fitzi you got someone that, matters a. Swag you're you
play in the least in the smallest of the small,
(01:54:01):
Sands Green, bay which is mythical. Place You're, jacksonville the.
Afterthought they get shipped off To europe a couple times
a year in A London so getting a player that,
matters that's got a, teeth that you could build the,
ROUTE i think is.
Speaker 1 (01:54:18):
Smart they also Got Trevor lawrence the best weapon in
this year's draft for, him like and it has not
gone the way anybody thought it would go For Trevor
lawrence as far as asserting his, domination you, know, SO
i think that's. Smart they get the best wide receiver
and the best. CORNER i mean that that is real
whatever position they choose to play him. At he was
rated as the highest in both by the. League, Also
(01:54:39):
Caleb ransaw the to lank. CORNER a lot of upside
for that. PICK i think they did a really nice.
Job and they get a massive mountain of a man
In mullem For West, virginia the. Guard so the smart
draft And jacksonville being. Aggressive this is, identity, Right they're
showing you that they're going to be aggressive to make
people pay.
Speaker 2 (01:54:55):
Attention, YEAH i love what The chiefs. DID i Think
King city had a great. Tres first of, all you
needed desperately needed help on the old. Line we saw
that in The Super. Bowl and you Get Josh, Simmons
so you go get a. TACKLE i think it's a,
huge huge piece there to go get and then you
(01:55:19):
go attack. Defense, right you Got norman a lot in
the middle of that. LINE i Love Noel, williams who
was a press, corner who the kid from Cal you
Give spags a press court and THAT i was talking
To spags last night about it and he was over
(01:55:39):
the moon because he got three toys to work.
Speaker 1 (01:55:42):
With, yeah same thing we said on Our yahoo shows In,
spags we trust. Him you just gave him another chess, piece,
Right so really. Good And Josh, simmons, frankly we're not
for the torn pateel attendant from last. Fall it wouldn't
have been on the. Board like he was the top
tackle for many people pre. Injury so presuming that their
medicals cleared, him they must for them to go in
the first round as long as they were comfortable with
(01:56:03):
the MEDICAL i, mean they may have actually gotten the,
impossible like they're left tackle for the next fifteen years
at the end of the first. Round like that just doesn't.
Happen so congratulations to. Them so it's a hell to
a draft again By Kansas.
Speaker 2 (01:56:16):
City i'm a big hardball, fan And i'm curious to
see what you figure of their. DRAFT i mean him
did make. Sense you needed it, back, right and he
was the best available not named gent, Right SO i get.
That i'm a little Like Trey.
Speaker 1 (01:56:36):
HARRIS i don't.
Speaker 2 (01:56:37):
KNOW i, Mean, i'm you, know basketball player kind of
fits harpball's, mold But i'm not SURE i like.
Speaker 1 (01:56:45):
It, Yeah and you, know, FRANKLY i know that they're gonna,
say fans will, say, well we've got some young pieces
on the offensive. LINE i don't know that offense last
year inefficiency was absolutely. Wretched and you, know the funny
thing is that it was, like you, know first time,
run SECOND i, run it's third and eight justin save,
Us like that's not an, offense, Right and knowing that
(01:57:05):
he wanted to pound the ball the way that we
know he wants to pound, It i'm a little surprised
they didn't do more work early on in the. TRENCHES
i THINK O Mario hampton is a really nice, Pick
LIKE i think he's a really good, Player but at that,
POINT i don't know that there was such a difference
between A mario And hampton and the other running backs
in the second round THAT i wouldn't have looked at
some other offensive line opportunities. There so, YEAH i, think,
(01:57:26):
look it feels like they got some weapons For Justin,
herbert BUT i don't know that they made their team demonstrably.
Better to, Me i'm not more scared of The chargers
today THAN i was as opposed to The chiefs and The,
broncos for.
Speaker 2 (01:57:35):
Example in their owner, Agreed, YES i, agree And i'm
a Huge harball. FAN i agree with. It the one
thing that is assured is that if there's one team
that will always get it, right it's The.
Speaker 1 (01:57:50):
Rams, also there's one team that's going to, trade it's The.
Speaker 2 (01:57:53):
Rams f them, picks, yes but when they do, pick
it's the right, pick and it doesn't matter where it,
is how late it. Is they find players AND i know,
that you, know they. Listen they needed a tight end
AND i know That ferguson is going to be a
stud for, That LIKE i know he's going to work
(01:58:13):
out for.
Speaker 1 (01:58:14):
THAT i, mean my, god you just we talk about
getting another toy Like sean. McVay just got another weapon
for them to play. With and you, know they traded
down in the, process and they didn't even take a
pick on first night and they got first night talent
in the middle of the second round in them. Position
so it's. Brilliant and they get somebody In Josiah stewart,
that LIKE i know this is an overused, term but
(01:58:34):
LIKE i think it's really fair to, say you want
to talk about a guy that is just, relentless, right
and so now you put him on the same defensive
line As Jared, Verse like that's just. Man The rams
continue to when they get they don't get a lot
of at, bats they don't get a lot of, swings
but when they, do they connect and they're all. That
it doesn't feel like it feels like they're all doubles in.
Speaker 2 (01:58:55):
Triples, yes, yes, yes yes you're that's not like, EACTLY
i Feel dolphins go, again TRENCHES o, LINE d line,
right Kenvinth. GRANT i love that Stick Kevin grant in
the middle of that of that front for The.
Speaker 1 (01:59:11):
Dolphins, YEAH i really like. That and then jonas Wen
i the guard out Of. Arizona you knew they had
to get some, Beef like everybody knows that every hit
For tua feels a little bit more catastrophic for obvious,
reasons and so it's just. Smart you knew they were
going to have to get offensive line. Help SO i
liked that they moved they were they, Aggressive remember they moved.
Up they traded it all the way up to get
(01:59:32):
him at the top of the second that that made
a lot of, Sense Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:59:36):
Buggings you had some more help on that line which
they needed In Donovan.
Speaker 1 (01:59:40):
Jackson, yeah again the same thing anytime you're taking the big.
BOYS i like. It and they also wide receiver out
Of maryland type IN a little little rich for, that.
Speaker 2 (01:59:49):
But a good. Pick, yep, yep all, Right we'll take quick,
break come right, back big last hour Ahead fellas From.
Speaker 1 (01:59:57):
Fox don't Listen No Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (02:00:00):
Radio good morning Hatby Abby Abby. Uh Draft Weekend day
three will take place afternoon where The, Fellas Jason, Fitz
Anthony Gargano company live from The Fox Sports radio. Studios don't.

protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tireraq

Night taking out The lakers ample.
Speaker 1 (02:00:56):
Triple inside the, arc looking to attack you in the
lane of the.
Speaker 4 (02:00:58):
Corner team lines up the Three Cents Day dance to
his career.
Speaker 1 (02:01:03):
Night he's got thirty.
Speaker 2 (02:01:05):
That's, right the dagger From jaden McDaniel's thirty piece boat
T wolves. Win all, right lots to do draft, wise
the brainial joys to go through the, playoffs give us
some picks and just later on you missed any of the,
show of, course check out the podcast wherever you get your,
podcasts just Search Fox Sports. Radio this won't pop up

right after we get off the. Air do it some
solid like review and rate the podcast for us, again
just Search Fox Sports ready where you get your. Podcast
you'll see today's. Show post it right after we get
off the. Air all, right my, brother we've been going
through the each team and how they. Fared so let's
(02:01:49):
go like rapid, fire BECAUSE i know we got a
lot to get to and we only got an hour,
left AND i don't want to kind of short change
any of the TEAMS i know today some of it
being thing obviously it'll be All shador and the. Quarterbacks
where Does shoudor go and where Does i'm looking for
my Boy kyle McCord to. Go scataboo is the ONE i.
(02:02:12):
Love Cam's cattabu and it'll be interesting to see where
he goes. Today Dylan, Samson, right that'll be, INTERESTING.
Speaker 1 (02:02:20):
Fitzi, yeah The Dylan Sampson's cattaboy are two guys THAT
i think can truly make a difference day one when
they come into the. Room so a lot of big
names And i'm not used to seeing. THAT i think
that's like we talked about. Earlier because of the beef
that was taken in the first, round household names From
saturday were, available, second, third fourth. Round it's it's much more.
Impactful like the the the numbers for our livestream on
(02:02:43):
day two were up. Substantially the eyeballs were up. Substantially
that's important Because shador and the free, fall but it's
also inpartant because you've got big names. Going cam is
somebody that's really interesting to me, too because it's like
the little engine that. Could you, know it's just a
guy that you. Know frank just we all fell in
love within the college football. Playoff but if you look
at the tape throughout the course of the entire last,
(02:03:05):
season there's on a. STATE i just there was a
lot of really special stuff.
Speaker 5 (02:03:09):
There.
Speaker 2 (02:03:10):
YEAH i love the, KID i absolutely. Do he's a football,
player he's. RELENTLESS i think you're. RIGHT i think he
helps day. One whoever drafts him is getting A to,
me he's getting a huge player and great value right.
Here all, right let's Go. Patriots great draft by The,
(02:03:31):
patriots of, course you, know you start off and you
get your but you're the best tackle in the, draft
And Will, campbell you Get Traveon, henderson WHO i like
a lot, too by the, way and you get a
Center Jared, wilson who's who's among the best centers in the.
Speaker 1 (02:03:46):
Draft, yeah this was a absolute And Jared wilson relatively
new to the center position. Too BUT i love this
all the way across the. Board only curious thing, said
with kind, respect is It Will campbell has t rex,
arms like he's got tiny. Arms and that's not new For.
Vrabel remember he Drafted skeroansky out Of northwestern with The,
titans and it was, like, no skrans is going to
(02:04:07):
be a, Tackle and it took like three seconds for
them to figure Out skaranski is really a guard and
they moved him. INSIDE i Think Will campbell's obviously a better.
PROSPECT i know, that but short armed guys sometimes get moved.
Inside i'm wondering like they say he's the tackle, now
AND i think he's a. Tackle but With rabel in the,
past he's moved short arm guys. Inside did they just
spend the fourth overall pick on a. GUARD i don't,
know but this feels like.
Speaker 2 (02:04:27):
It. YOU i hear you on, that and, listen you're
not wrong about the short arm piece of. IT i
think he's a legit tackle AND i think he you,
know arms. ASIGNED i think everything else he he speaks
tackled to.
Speaker 1 (02:04:41):
Me, yeah one hundred, percent everything about if it weren't
for just living and through The tennessee portion OF i
Think vrabel defending so loudly That keronsky was a tackle
and then just moving him to, guard that just has
jaded my mindset a little on. It but you're right
that holding it, separate this is a much different prospect than.
Speaker 2 (02:04:58):
Him. Yeah, Uh, saints speaking of, tackles you, know you
go To, texas get the big, boy you go Get
Calvin backs and they The lord knows that The saints needed.
Speaker 1 (02:05:09):
That, yeah and, Look Kelvin, BANKS i mean he is a,
big big human being and very very. GOOD i was
a little surprised That Tyler shuck was the second round
picture just because.
Speaker 2 (02:05:23):
Yeah, DUDE i. AGREE i Know kelvin liked, them but,
MAN i don't, know.
Speaker 1 (02:05:28):
You, Know and one of our analysts, said, look if
he was twenty one years, old he'd have, been you,
know a top ten pick in this year's draft when
you look at the arm talent blah blah, blah and everybody, says,
yeah the injuries are kind of, freaky so it's not repetitive.
Injuries BUT i don't, know when you've played college football
for seven years because of the, injuries like that has
to be part of. It the fact is he was
Justin herbert's backup in, College, like that's how long he has. Played,
(02:05:49):
like so to, me he went. High, yeah and a
little bit of like how much better is he really
going to get? It i'm stealing this line From charles,
McDonald but he, said IF i give you seven years
to get good at, anything you probably. Should he got
seven years to get good at college. Football so you,
know there's a lot to like about him from The creme,
analysts but, MAN i just don't. KNOW i just don't
(02:06:10):
know what the ceiling is for.
Speaker 2 (02:06:11):
Him so let's talk. Quarterbacks you we didn't talk About Jackson,
dart and you know the love Affair Brian dabo has
With Jackson. Dart obviously you come away With, carter who's
a game. Wrecker their defense is gonna be really. Good
giants defense is on the. Upswing and then you Get
alexander to kid From toledo in the third. Round but
(02:06:35):
the story is traded back up to Get Jackson.
Speaker 1 (02:06:39):
Dart, YEAH i mean a bit of both, too because
they get when you Take Darius alexander and just the
mass that he is in the middle of the, line
and you can Bine Abdual carter with this defensive line
that already. Existed, boy they are they are frightening up.
Front and then, yeah they paid basically. Nothing they gave
up their second round pick and then a fifth round
to move up to the bottom of the first round
(02:07:01):
and take their. Quarterback SO i, mean if you told
me that they traded next year's first to move up
to Get Jackson dart and, say oh that feels. Rich
think him up so little in this, Process, frankly if
the next regime doesn't like, him, yeah the Next If
dabell doesn't keep his job and the next group comes, in,
Yes Jackson dart was the first round, pick but they
didn't mortgage the future to get. Him, so, MAN i
(02:07:22):
this feels like a really smart way to go about.
IT i just we're gonna find out how much least
they're gonna Give dabele to actually develop a.
Speaker 2 (02:07:29):
Quarterback, Yeah crosstown The Jets, membo so they that was
an area of huge, need all. Right so and then
me Get Mason, taylor Who i'm a huge fan Of Mason.
TAYLOR i Love Mason taylor From Ella's street to tight.
END i think he's a big time.
Speaker 1 (02:07:49):
PLAYMAKER i freaking love everything The jets did in this.
Draft and you know, what it screams to identity the
thing THAT i keep. Saying but let's now look back
at that conversation and that everybody blew up a month
ago about The jets saying we're going in a different
direction at. Quarterback of course they. Are what are they?
Done they went out and got a huge human being
(02:08:10):
of a tackle for many, people the best offensive lineman
on the. Board they get a tight end that is
a difference. Maker they get a really good corner THAT
i was surprised was available, then and you stacked it
with the way that they're built With Justin. Fields it
is very clear what they are going to, do And Mason,
taylor the tight, end helps them do. This they're gonna
put the ball In Justin field's ends and they're gonna
give him a safety. Outlet And, taylor they're gonna give
(02:08:32):
him the opportunity to run the football a, lot which
is what he's comfortable. Doing they are going to try
to grind games down to six to, three like A
jets game is going to take an hour and seven.
Minutes it feels like right like there's just there's gonna
be no throwing the. Football but, LOOK i Love. Aaron
glenn has given us a very clear decisive view of
what their identity is right. Now and WHILE i don't
think it makes them a playoff, team it makes them.
(02:08:54):
Better it raises the floor and then they can address
the quarterback position as they continue to put more talent
in the. Building. Yep, Yeah and none of that would
be effective With Aaron, rodgers by the, Way like it
is smart right. Now you look at their strategy and
it is clear why they're, like, Nah, aaron go play
somewhere else like that would have ever.
Speaker 2 (02:09:10):
Tried that's. Right, Uh the defending. Champion, home, man it
feels good to say. That. Dude, sorry what are you sorry?
Speaker 1 (02:09:21):
About? MAN i JUST i just.
Speaker 2 (02:09:24):
Objectivity for a while comes out like.
Speaker 1 (02:09:26):
Objectivity you're defending. Champion like you, see you've got The
World Heavyweight championship. Belt you just wear that thing every single.
Day come on now and This there were reports that
The eagles tried to move up multiple times to Take. Jahad,
WELL i know they.
Speaker 2 (02:09:41):
Did and like they moved. Up they tried to get
The chargers at twenty, two they tried to get The,
packers twenty, four twenty, three they tried to get uh The,
vikings and they got shut.
Speaker 1 (02:09:52):
OUT i, mean the fact is they didn't have to
do any of that, right and they got a flat.
OUT i mean they got a flat. Out how ind
d hell and FRANKLY i think they did in the
second round. Too they got one of the best safeties
in this, Storm.
Speaker 2 (02:10:06):
Kuba it was.
Speaker 1 (02:10:07):
A great, pick a great pick for that he, Is oh.
Speaker 2 (02:10:11):
My, god they needed his safety and he's a great.
Pick you, know he's a Comp his comp Is Gardner
johnson who they lost.
Speaker 1 (02:10:20):
And a thousand Percent and by the, way they can
put him, up but they can put him up close
if they need. To they can let him on center
field if they need. To he can take out slot
guys if they need. Him like they're just there are
so many things, Here, LIKE i really love this. PICK
i love this.
Speaker 2 (02:10:37):
Pick, yeah And i'm a Big Johah campbell. Guy he
actually is from literally twenty minutes from my. House oh.
Wow so he's a local, kid a great, kid and
a football. Player, Man just to like they got dogs
on that, Defense, dude that DEFENSE i love, defense and
that defense is, nasty nasty, stealers my man. Stealers go With.
(02:11:04):
HARMON i think a very smart pick because, look the
man of the, year the perpetual man of the. Year
at some, Point cam's not gonna be able to, play
and you needed an air, APPARENT.
Speaker 1 (02:11:21):
I think not only like a couple of things, here
AND i was guilty of, This SO i will throw
myself under the bus as much as. Anybody the shock
of the realization That shador was not gonna go the
minute That harmon's name was selected really overwhelmed the analysis
on the. Pick and for anyone that didn't See, Derek
harmon's mom tragically passed that. Night, yeah and so his
(02:11:46):
draft moment was. Overshadowed and AGAIN i am as guilty
of this on the yahou. LIVESTREAM i did this as
much as anybody did covering the. Draft the shock of oh,
Wait shador isn't gonna go tonight sort of set in right,
there and it overshadowed a kid that is a absolute
beast of a football. Player so he deserves all the
flowers that he's going to get The. Steelers just great
(02:12:08):
pick and really amazing that the pick was made in
time that he was able to rush to her and
let her. Know and then in the second Round Caleb Caleb,
johnson they get, like, y'all if you're looking for your fantasy,
dynasty play on somebody that you're looking for your rookie
running back that you should be obsessed with not Named Ashton.
GENTY i would Take Caleb. Johnson his opportunity to get
(02:12:31):
full share of this back backfield is absolutely right. There
like he's he, Is he's going to be within a
few weeks there bel coow he is going to be their.
Future he is going to shine in this offense he.
Runs there aren't a lot of teams left that, run you,
know a zone gap running. System That Arthur smith does
(02:12:51):
that with The steelers second highest rate of that in
THE nfl last. Year and look this is exactly this
is right down the middle For Caleb. Johnson this is
a a fantastic, pick like this is a match. Made,
yeah well it's.
Speaker 2 (02:13:04):
FUNNY i mean you AND i have done nothing really
but praise a lot of the, picks And i'm going to.
CONTINUE i love With Seattle. Day LIKE i, think first of,
All Gray zabel that could play guard or. TACKLE i.
LOVE i think he is a really solid pick for.
Them i'm a huge Edmn warri. FAN i Think Edmund
(02:13:25):
worry is a great. Safety you get A royo tight
end From miambi who's a, playmaker and you take a
flyer on Mill row to time to develop. THEM i
love this.
Speaker 1 (02:13:39):
Draft, YEAH i thought it was really. Strong and you
know the funny thing is because you're, Right gray is
just a mountain of a. Man, also really good pick.
There and offensive line is just such a need for The.
Seahawks Every seahawks FAN i talked, to we had three
that were working on our shows the whole. Day they were,
like we just want an offensive line and you got
that and you got a really good. One but Then
Emmon warrior is really interesting to me because man. Traits
(02:14:01):
you talk about, physicality you talk about, size you talk about,
speed talk about. Everything the only thing is that sometimes
he's not quite as aggressive as people want him to. Be,
man if anybody knows how to bring that out of,
you it's a defensive coordinator turned to head coach like McDonald,
Right like McDonald is such a beast with defensive pieces
to play. WITH i feel like that's just going to
(02:14:22):
be a home run of a. Pick and, YEAH i
was genuinely. BUMMED i think a lot of teams were
from WHAT i heard right away. Afterwards When Jalen milroe
went where he, went we were right getting to that
sweet spot where everybody. Was they were championed the bit
is this the opportunity to Get Jalen? Milroe AND i
thought he might follow The raiders with one of their
two picks at the end of the. THIRD i love
the developmental prospects of at least taking a flyer on
(02:14:45):
somebody that's that level of an. Athlete but He's, look
he's not going to be a quarterback anytime, soon but
he's going to be a. Weapon they'll find ways to use,
it So kubiak will find ways to use. Him, seattle
great draft to.
Speaker 2 (02:14:55):
ME i love what they. Did love what they. Did niner's.
Right niners defensive front got a lot. Better And Michael,
williams you, know he's reminds you a little bit Of Trayvon.
Walker you add that kind of a beast to that.
Front that's A niner, Move John lynch.
Speaker 1 (02:15:17):
Move and they're in a bit of a rebuild. Mode
like we say that gently with forty nine, ers but
keep an eye AND i think you'll appreciate. This in
the third, Round Nick, martin the linebacker was. Taken, look
he's not like a world beater to a lot of.
People but then look at the other pieces they just.
Added and when they Added Michael williams and they Added Alfred,
collins they got a lot of size on the defensive.
(02:15:38):
Line that is going to free up the opportunity For
Nick martin to do a lot of. THINGS i JUST
i really enjoyed everything about that BECAUSE i Think Nick
martin in a lot of systems would have been a me.
Pick but the way they're, drafting they're keeping everything clean
in front of. Him, MAN i Think Nick martin has
a chance to really.
Speaker 2 (02:15:54):
Shine, yeah, yeah that's good. Point good Point. Tampa, UH
i like What tampa is doing A? Buca you need to?
Replace what were?
Speaker 1 (02:16:05):
You were you confused by that because like they just
gave god with new, money, Right, like so yeah is?
It because, LOOK i freaking love, Him Meccha. BUKA i
freaking love. HIM i was just a little surprised given
the fact, that like most people, say, oh, well what's
his professional Comp Chris. Godwin it's like you guys Have Chris.
Godwin he's not that. Old SO i GOT i was
a little. SURPRISED i think it's an amazing. MOVE i
(02:16:27):
was just a little. Surprised.
Speaker 2 (02:16:28):
Yeah, No and you know, WHAT i Guess i'm thinking
that they're not expecting much out Of. Godwin, yeah, right
because you got, McMillan who's your slock. GUY i, Mean
baker's got all kinds of. Weapons we saw What Bucky irving.
Did their line is. GOOD i don't Know tampa's. OFFENSE
(02:16:48):
i Mean tampa's offense looks. Scary AND i love The
buka because that, kid he's a great. Kid he's a
smooth rat, runner, right he catches everything he finds open. Space,
YEAH i don't. KNOW i, MEAN i look at that
outfense outfits gonna be.
Speaker 1 (02:17:04):
Scary, YEAH i agree with.
Speaker 2 (02:17:05):
That by the, way great picture of my crew over.

Man like there's some people that are just two Pretty
jesse is one of. Those Like Jesse, Jonas jonas And
Jesse palmer should never be allowed in the same room
(02:18:03):

tell Me i'm. Wrong jonas has got like the chisel.
Jawl like it's just he's A. Kendall he's a, living,
eating Breathing.

Speaker 3 (02:18:19):
Sweet, No, No i'm saying like he's got, Both like
it's good, that you. Know not all attractive people are like,
jerks you, know as opposed.
Speaker 1 (02:18:27):
To, Me i'm a bad. Boy can you Say i'm
a bad boy and be a bad? Boy that's a philosophical.
Question probably the answer is, No, ANTHONY.
Speaker 2 (02:18:34):
I think, No, no you're a Handsome you're you're you're
a handsome, fella handsome and a great. SHAPE i won't call. You,
yeah you don't need to be a bad. Boy and
it's just like a little learned, musician like you're you're cultured.
Speaker 1 (02:18:53):
The anti rock. Star people walk in and they're, like you,

happened onto. It maybe BECAUSE i was always in and like,
raiders hoodie and. Shorts the number of TIMES i walk

What that's What Shore sanders has gonna be able to, afford, Right, Neil,
yeah well you.
Speaker 1 (02:20:33):
Know, wild it's still. WILD i still can't wrap my
brain around. IT i STILL i still.
Speaker 5 (02:20:38):
CAN'T i Know anthony.
Speaker 2 (02:20:39):
Doesn't.
Speaker 5 (02:20:40):
Didn't it was kind of predicted somewhat of a prefall from,
him WHICH i didn't. Understand but he told me he
thought he was going to not go as high AS
i thought he. Would, Man, anthony you say you're right
is the. UNDERSTATEMENT I i gotta ask you a, question, Though,
anthony AND i got, It And i'm curious of you
guys what you. Think it's just AND i know you
(02:21:01):
started tape on him and you weren't as high on
him as LIKE I i thought he was quite. Good
actually you, know well you, know we'll. See but do
you think it's this is like more than just you,
know something that just meets the eye and there's just
like this is their way of, saying you know, what
remember way back when when there was collusion in the
baseball pre, Agency.
Speaker 2 (02:21:21):
Like, NO i think it's nefarious like. That, no here's
WHAT i think it. IS i think IT'S i think
it's so easy to figure. Out he projects is a,
backup he's he's a pocket quarterback who's got an okay
arm who Does you've got a lot of work to
do just to get to the level of What Andy,
(02:21:44):
Dalton and then you throw in all the other stuff around,
them whether it's his, personality whether it's his, father whether
all it's all the, drama it's not worth.
Speaker 5 (02:21:54):
It, well clearly there's. There THE nfl is agreeing with,
you SO i cannot argue, then and you're, saying clearly
THE nfl is agree with everything you just. SAID i
just man, AGAIN i just must HAVE i don't, KNOW
i must have called him on his good games or.
SOMETHING i find this some of these guys taking ahead of.
Speaker 2 (02:22:14):
Him, well you AND i were talking about this, though
fits with brain AND i were debating before the draft
about your door and if you actually go look at his,
throws how many REAL nfl? Throws like when you're looking
to watch a game and you're seeing volume, throws you, go,
oh my got he was under duress or This the
(02:22:35):
windows of the throw are wide. Open we're talking about
in THE. Nfl those windows shrink dramatically he, had he
did not make a lot of those. Throws that's what
scouts are telling.
Speaker 5 (02:22:49):
You no, again you're clearly, again you're clearly. CORRECT i.
CAN'T i, mean it's like you have the truth on your.
SIDE i JUST i just didn't see it.
Speaker 2 (02:22:59):
COMING i just.
Speaker 5 (02:23:00):
Didn't AND i guess it's. INTERESTING i don't Think i've
seen a divergence like this of what the quote unquote
mock drafts right versus what's actually, happened where usually there's
somewhat of the, agreement so to speak with let's just
call it them Mel kuiper's top mashades of the world
versus the people actually doing the picking. Right i've never
seen it, Where i'm, sure and you probably agree with
(02:23:21):
me and seen. IT i don't remember a player ever
where his chrot unicle perceived value was so different than
his real.
Speaker 2 (02:23:27):
VALUE i will.
Speaker 1 (02:23:28):
SAY i will say this. QUICKLY i Asked Nate tye
was on my panel last night with y'aho and his,
Dad Mike, tys obviously renowned, coach AND i asked, HIM i,
said how much did this this fall do you think
has to do with any of the conversation Around dion
and he literally laughed at me live on, air and he, Said,
MAN nfl coaches have so much to worry about and
(02:23:50):
so much to think, about they just simply truly aren't
occupying their brain with any of that. Garbage if the,
tape if the tape speaks for, itself the tape speaks
for His now can it be a tiebreaker in a
room if you're looking at a third or fourth round?
Picture but, like does it cause some prevate like precipitous? Fall,
No AND i think that there's some Some we're all
(02:24:10):
trying to make sense of. It AND i think the,
honest the gods honest truth is the mockers were more
wrong than they've ever been wrong in. History and that's
that that. Flawed you, know one FORMER gm that was
recently fired told Our Charles robinson when he, said where
do we go wrong in? This he, said let's get let,
it let's get this. Clear we didn't go. Wrong you.
Did AND i think that's that's the lesson, here is
that the media and the mock drafts went.
Speaker 5 (02:24:32):
Wrong, yeah look IT i have to do What anthony,
said you know that he's like he products a backup.
QUARTERBACK i guess that simple at the.
Speaker 2 (02:24:39):
End of the.
Speaker 5 (02:24:39):
Day BUT I i don't. Know we'll. See i'm actually
rooting for. Him i'll see how it plays. Out, uh you,
know we'll see how it plays. Out we'll see how
it plays. Out but, MAN i Mean i'm curious when
it is eving an end for. HIM i, mean, right,
like he could he go.
Speaker 2 (02:24:53):
Undrafted, Nah i'll take a flyer.
Speaker 1 (02:24:56):
ON i think he's gonna end up getting drafted by
somebody that just wants a backup, quarterback LIKE i think
the right home at this, point it's going to be
somebody that has a well established starter that is going
to draft him and simply develop him as a. Backup
like the chances that he ends up at A cleveland
or A vegas or a place that was, SPECULATED i
think he's. Gone he's not going To.
Speaker 2 (02:25:16):
Pittsburgh he's not going To, pittsburgh, RIGHT i guess he's
going to go somewhere LIKE i think fits he's spot.
On he goes to like The eagles kidsas. City he
goes somewhere where there there's no question pressure that he's
Not he's not going to go anywhere near the, field.
Speaker 5 (02:25:36):
Right he's just going to be clearly like, right a
backup in THAT sat and no one's going.
Speaker 2 (02:25:40):
To he, developed BUT i guess what that would be
the best thing for, him and because then who, Knows
like maybe then he can develop and you learn the,
position you get, retaught everything you you're you, know you
put aside all the, nonsense and then you become a.
Speaker 1 (02:25:56):
QUARTERBACK i also will say quickly, TOO i think like
he goes somewhere that has such an established starter that
they don't have to access new media passes for the
first press conferences of the, Year like that's that's where
like he goes someplace where he like my real question
is that we ever really going to See schadour on
the field in THE, nfl because it's it's not uncommon
for fifth round quarterbacks to never really get a shot
(02:26:19):
in the. LEAGUE i am genuinely curious to see, if,
when Where shoudor gets a real chance to. Play at this,
POINT i wonder if The eagles take.
Speaker 5 (02:26:26):
HIM i was actually thinking that that's how.
Speaker 2 (02:26:32):
We jeffrey moved because the quarterback factory thing AND i
could see. IT i could see, it and he would
be the third string Because tanner McKee's their their backup right.
Speaker 5 (02:26:46):
Right, Actually tanner, McKee ACTUALLY i, thought you, know side,
note but actually looked very impressive to.
Speaker 2 (02:26:50):
Me like him a.
Speaker 5 (02:26:52):
Lot, Yep, yeah we'll see what. HAPPENS i, thought it's
it's been an interesting bottom. Port i'm like Mel kiper
could handle it one more moment if he continues to.
Speaker 2 (02:26:59):
Fall how about, it, brain just go right to. IT
i mean we're talking about this a little while. Ago
how freaking annoying it.
Speaker 5 (02:27:10):
Is, yeah it's become like, again it's it's actually like
overshadowed the entire, draft which is kind of. Crazy uh,
again it, is it's Very it's, again it's extremely, bizarre
but IT'S i guess it's what you guys accurately poured
out that the mockers have just never been this. Wrong
and this guy on top that was called right, there,
(02:27:30):
right he was probably right there with his teammate the
most the most two famous quote unquote players in the
draft Were hunter and, Him AND i guess the fact
that he's the guy who's following is just making it
that much of a. Story but it. Is it is.
CRAZY i, mean i'll tell, You i'll tell.
Speaker 2 (02:27:50):
You one second AND i need fy to hammer his
point home for the last time because he came up with.
It he spot on and brain this draft has been
a great. ONE fitsi elaborate why it's a shame should
doors overshadow this? Draft?
Speaker 1 (02:28:07):
YEAH i think the story of this, draft, brother has
just been that teams looked around and figured out that
they needed to do the foundationally sound, thing the, smart
the wise thing to actually build the base of what
their organization is going to look like moving. Forward and
so what you've seen is fair reasonable balanced picks all
the way across the. Board you see these offensive linemen,
(02:28:28):
going you see trenches going all over the. Place and you,
know we took this narrative that it's not a very good.
Draft it, is in fact a good. Draft it just
may not have these, special oh my god fantasy football
numbers that so many people want out of the early
portions of. It but what we've seen is franchise after,
Franchise and maybe it's because you don't have the same
level of, stars so you don't have the same leveling middling.
(02:28:49):
Meddling it feels like football players have looked and football
organizations have done the very simple thing for, once and they've, Said,
hey what's the smartest thing for our football team foundationally build.
Around and THAT'S i think it's been really brilliant to
watch the number of teams we've gone through today and
we've just, said, hey this is a solid draft up and.
DOWN i don't remember the last time feeling that way
(02:29:09):
about this many teams because everybody was fair and measured
and understanding of this process of building a football team
the right way for the first.
Speaker 5 (02:29:17):
Time, yeah listen, again fair points and uh, Again it's
just it's been it's been a crazy thing to. Watch
but with with what's your, name BUT i do you
think you make very fair? Points so people learn. Right over,
time they usually do get more, educated more data comes,
through and they make better. Decisions so point and maybe
maybe that's exactly what you you, know what you just.
Said we're saying that right.
Speaker 2 (02:29:37):
Now all, Right uh my, brother we got a big
weekend of playoff basketball and. Hockey Hockey last night was
ridiculously did you?
Speaker 5 (02:29:48):
Wait did you? See did you? SEE i mean That
i've never Seen i've never seen anything like happen in that.
GAME i, MEAN i, MEAN i mean that was down
To edvant.
Speaker 2 (02:30:00):
Did scores and then The kings come right back thirteen
seconds later with a one handed goal By, more which was.
Ridiculous and then it looks like The kings are going
to win seven minutes ago in a bag bag. Evant
it takes the lake and then the empty.
Speaker 5 (02:30:17):
Netters it was, wild, no, no, no but did you
it's how they. Scored they were down by and it
was five four four, whatever four to three, whatever they're
free and they and they it looked like the, guy
uh what's his? Name oh my, god the guy was
a k king or kicks the. Ball, yeah The king
kicked the puck in the. Net and then they reviewed
it and they initially they took the goal away and
(02:30:40):
then they edmonsion. Challenge they, go wait a, minute even
though he kicked, it it wasn't the kicking motion that
when it in the. Net and then they counted as a.
Goal and then The king's challenge, saying you know what they,
said there was goal tender. Interference well they lost the,
challenge so the goal counted and he gave that a power. Play,
(02:31:01):
yeah like eight seconds there for the power. Play that
one play, CHANGED i mean one play change of hockey Game.
Speaker 2 (02:31:07):
Moore, yeah, yeah it was, wild, game, crazy.
Speaker 1 (02:31:10):
Amazing why we can change the whole series by the
way that one, play like we go FROM, la Was
LA's up to one in the, series they'd have been
up three to. Nothing that series would be as close
To dune as you can. GET i, MEAN i know
hockey's a little different than other sports with three, nothing
but but that that would have been close To. Dune and,
now all of a, sudden instead we're two to one
and there's, like you just gave life to An edmand
TEAM i don't want to give life To.
Speaker 5 (02:31:28):
Yeah, yeah you're being, fair you're being fair for, sure
but it was it was. EXCITING i. ENJOYED i love
the playoffs in the hockey all, right before.
Speaker 2 (02:31:36):
You get, HERE i know you got like tons of
props and, stuff but give us real, quick who you
like in games wise, today, tomorrow IN, nhl N, ba
eve their. Leads look who you?
Speaker 5 (02:31:46):
Look, Okay baseball two or just AN nfl and, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:31:50):
We'll start WITH nba AND. Nhl then you get into
your your normal.
Speaker 5 (02:31:54):
Plays, OKAY nba, here let me bring it up right.
Now first we start WITH. Clevelandammi the line right, now
guys is sitting between five and, six depending where you
shop for. Me My lean is definitely definitely The cleveland.
SIDE i think there's a big difference in these two,
teams and we.
Speaker 2 (02:32:12):
Gotta be fast because we got like a Minute.
Speaker 5 (02:32:14):
Son Oklahoma, city no question over fifteen Over. MEMPHIS i
think that series is to be, done is. Done LIKE
i Lean clippers Over, denver but it's, pricey but some
injuries For. Denver six points is, pricy BUT i still
lean that. Way Houston rockets Versus Golden. State If Jimmy butler,
PLAYS i Like Golden. State If Shimmy doug doesn't, PLAY
(02:32:36):
i Like. Houston pretty simple for. Me Nick pifton's line
is sitting around. Two lean Lean knicks getting the. TWO
i think it's a fifty to fifty. Game i'll take
my chance as they win. It Lakers minnesota line is
three and a. HALF i Lean lakers in a must
win game getting the. Points think it'll be. Close feltix
(02:32:56):
minus seven Over, Magic gonna lean boss in there And Indiana.
MILWAUKEE i will Lean pacers taking four and a half
points on the.
Speaker 2 (02:33:05):
ROAD i love. IT i love it all. Right anything, else, uh,
base what do you got? Anything?
Speaker 5 (02:33:10):
Hockey hockey looking real? Quick Dallas stars us at the
hour sixty five A. Colorado don't understand why that line
is so. HIGH i think it's just too. HIGH i just.
Do that's probably my favorite one of the. Games of
the terms of the Hockey i've pritten my favorite. ONE
(02:33:32):
i like most mostly, underdogs though LIKE i still Think
Campa bay plus an hour twenty, five it could be
a fifty to fifty game as. WELL i know they're
down to. Zero that would be one THAT i would
be looking.
Speaker 2 (02:33:42):
At.
Speaker 5 (02:33:43):
Uh and then in terms of some of the, props,
guys which would you touched? On and also some baseball
games up withick, yeah babe and the five inning line
under five runs in the five inning line next Read Kevin.
GOSSMAN i think this is price too. HIGH i think
two very good pitchers going against each, OTHER i think
there will not be six run. Scored green hurt my
feelings last week on these. Airways i'm giving them a
chance to make up for it. LATE a half run
(02:34:05):
on the five inning line Against, colorado playing about a
dollar twenty. FIVE i think he gets home there a
couple of Props he's Use lozardo thrown, off He philly's
over five and a half, Strikeouts he's averaging close to
eight over five and a. HALF i think it's a good.
Bet Clay holmes over four and a half strikeouts is
averaging over seven. STRIKEOUTS i think that line is too.
Low And Roki sazaki under two and a half. Runs
(02:34:26):
don't understand that it was price he had to lay
at a dollar. Seventy BUT i don't get it Against Pittsburgh,
birets LIKE i should be laying this. ONE i think
is LEGITIMATELY i should be laying over three to one
and then the props real. Quick in THE nba BEFORE
i let you guys. Go DeAndre hunter over nine and
a half, POINTS i mean the guy has gotten. There
he's fifty six and ten over. THAT i don't understand
why it's not one and a half too low in my.
(02:34:48):
Opinion Jabari Smith Houston rockets over seven and a half.
Points he's eighteen and two is last Twenty Donovan Mitch don'm.
Sorry Dylan Brooks Houston rockets averaging sixteen points his last twenty.
Games can they get the? MINUTES i like over eleven
and a half points and last One Donovan, Mitchell Clinton
cavalier is averaging six or fifty games last thirty they
made it four and a. HALF i think it's two
(02:35:08):
light a lot of Over say good. LUCK i won't
have liked the. Overs you're the.
Speaker 1 (02:35:12):
Man, Brother thank You, Brain appreciate your.
Speaker 5 (02:35:14):
Brother appreciate you guys to be, Good.
Speaker 2 (02:35:16):
Lobrain we'll come back fifty nine and wrap it up
right Here Fox Sports. Radio, fellas if you're playing your,
SOUL fitzi.
Speaker 1 (02:35:27):
You, KNOW i hope that in fifteen years this is.
Playing lashador sits back with his feed up on the, desk,
say AND i told you so to. Everybody that's one
part of this THAT i you, know we've had a
lot of conversation today about THE nfl. Draft my friend
h BUT i gotta say LOUDLY i root for every single.
(02:35:48):
KID i want every single person that has worked their
entire lives to get this, dream to have this. Dream
AND i think the bummer of all of this is
that this will be, forever the conversation of this. DRAFT
i think it's a bummer For. Shador, obviously it's a
bummer for you, know all the teams that did stable.
Things it's really a bummer for Cam, ward who we
forget was the.
Speaker 2 (02:36:09):
First TIME i feel bad for Cam, warden it's just
Got but then let me ask you a question, though
instead of doing it like the my way, epitaph what
if he goes to a place where there's an established,
quarterback he sits in obscurity for two, seasons then he
(02:36:30):
gets an opportunity to, play and he plays. Well he's,
humbled all the nonsense around him is. Quieted there's, Humility
he learns the craft and, succeeds and for that the better.
Lesson Then OH i did it my. Way but it's
(02:36:51):
about it's about the. Team it's about, humility it's about the.
SPORT i, MEAN i don't, know it's about hard, work
becoming something when people doubt, you but you're in a
grind like all that stuff, LIKE i would love to
see that.
Speaker 1 (02:37:04):
Happen you're right that that's actually a better like My
my hope For chador is that he develops into a
starting quarterback in THE. Nfl, and by the, way for
whatever we think right now where this, sits most, people
whatever grade they had on, him most people believed that
the ceiling For chador was to be sort of that
that range Of Gino smith Or Andy. Dalton, well those
(02:37:25):
are guys that both had substantial have had substantial careers
starting in THE. Nfl maybe they're not, great but they're
they've been me not, GOOD i mean, honestly but he
started for a, while like he started for a, while
the mass.
Speaker 2 (02:37:39):
Of the playoffs, INTERCEPTIONS i, Mean Gino, smith you, Know
i'm with.
Speaker 1 (02:37:44):
YOU i think my only point is like the ceiling
isn't suck For, Shador like the ceiling isn't like, tragically
oh my, god why are you in the. League SO
i think there's still hope that the. Field you, know
my hope is that he gets he gets his way
on the.
Speaker 2 (02:37:59):
Field you're you know why you got a good? Heart?
Speaker 1 (02:38:03):
WELL i mean also an interesting point made by one
of our insiders from someone he talked to in the.
League it will be interesting to see How dion does
react to. This and by, THAT i, mean you know
the level of access, problem but but like the level
of access that the teams can give or not give
to certain, Scouts like there's really like what we're burnt
(02:38:25):
where bridges burned between like The raiders In colorado and
chadur and and you know The. Saints is he going
to take some of this? Personally and and you, know
not open those doors like that was that was a
concern that was echoed by one of our our. Insiders
it'll be interesting to see. There there's long fallout from
this for a lot of.
Speaker 2 (02:38:41):
People right, Right like none of it's.
Speaker 1 (02:38:44):
Right don't penalize anybody else for, This, LIKE i, mean
this is all. Wild do you believe there's any weird
collusion or? Conspiracy? DON'T i do.
Speaker 2 (02:38:52):
NOT i. Don't When brad asked about, IT i think.
SO i don't think it's any of that. Stuff why
kid the kid not Be, again the choices, work the
squeeze is a real. Deal you want to deal With
dion for a backup? Quarterback do you?
Speaker 1 (02:39:10):
Want do you want your starter to have a bad?
Game and then all of a, sudden forty people that
don't usually cover the team are asking about it in
the the press. ROOM i think those are those are
all fair concerns, too like the media covers that comes with.
Them these are all they are all Real like These
this is context without having to be. Collusion context and
collusion are not the same.
Speaker 2 (02:39:27):
Thing, No, no and AGAIN i don't. KNOW i, Mean
I'M i agree with. YOU i hope the kid you know,
figures you, know figures it, out gets an. Opportunity you know,
what you're old these, Kids but come, on, Boy colin
mccorr gets an, opportunity right, like let's see, right but you,
know we'll. See it's gonna be a fun. Day, everybody
(02:39:49):
have a great. Day we love, You we'll see you next.
Week fellas are. Out
