Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's up on game.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Let me pick out, let me pinch out the game.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
You want NFL experience, and this is the show for you.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Third Law with LaVar ary Ten as a defensive guy. TJ.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Houshman Zana.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I'm just bringing the viewers into how grown men in
the locker room, like I don't play with some dude
that you disrespect them anyway, didn't matter who it was
they was putting hands on you.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
And Blaxico Burress, they are the same person, the same
exact quarterback.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
It's a show with three. I'm the best to ever
do it on and off the field, and not live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Here's pro bowlers LeVar
earing Ten, TJ. Hushman Zanna, and Silver Bowl champion Blaxicoe fs.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
All Right, all right, all right, all right, welcome in
to up on games. Yeah uh well, we are in
the Fox Sports Radio studios. And you know what Draft covers, Yep,
it was on Fox Sports Radio. It was brought to
you by sip ship station and it colms the chaos

(01:15):
with the shipping software that delivers. You can use code
Sports for a free trial at shipstation dot com. That's
shipstation dot com. Code Sports. There's a lot to get
to and clearly, clearly, clearly with all the things that
I could tease as the teasers, I'm just gonna let

(01:37):
it breathe on the teasers because well, this Shador Sanders
conversation has obviously been positioned as the story of the
draft and possibly what the story of the year. So
I'm just gonna keep it open for us to have
the conversation if so needed. And before we get into that,

(01:59):
before we ump into that and this year's NFL draft,
I gotta ask, like, you know, obviously, start this thing
off the right way every time, you know, you know,
how ya, how y'all feeling man, How you feeling, Blacks,
how y'all feeling?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Hey man, feeling great?

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Man. It's a beautiful weather here finally on the East coast.
It kind of seems like the weather's breaking over here.
So man, everything is looking up, you know, in the
eighty degree range, and you know what, sun is out clear,
skuys man, better, can you ask.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
For it's not raining where you're at?

Speaker 4 (02:35):
No, No, it's not raining here?

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Nice? All lovely, all lovely.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I think we're still waiting on TJ to get on
so we'll we'll catch up with him if he makes
it on. But let's let's jump right in, let's jump
right into this. So obviously, uh, the draft has taken place.
Some positive things have happened are in the draft. Dreams
have come true, dreams have been made. But obviously the

(03:07):
biggest storyline that is a part of this this draft
is Schador Sanders still not being drafted. We go through
round one, the conversation takes place, We get into round two.
Now the conversation has continued on you know, mel kiper

(03:27):
Joel Klattu, the Marcus?

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (03:31):
What the Marcus? Why am I blanking on his name?
Works for you?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Not? Is it?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Where is the markets where big Boy.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Big Dog went to I'm not sure I'm messing up,
isn't it? Market spears?

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Market spears, market spears? Why am I missing Marcus Spears?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (03:49):
You know, Uh, stephen A, there's a lot of people
chiming in. Stephen A went as far as to even
compare Shador Sanders to Colin and Kaepernick. There has been
crazy words used discussed. This is just you know, crazy,
the way that this has been covered and the amount

(04:12):
of outrage connected to it. So I wanted us to
have the conversation. Obviously, I wanted to have it here.
What's your first what's what's your first reactions to the
idea of this being you know, so you know, blown
up and propped up as the biggest storyline of the

(04:34):
draft so far. What's your take on it?

Speaker 4 (04:37):
I mean, you know, how can that not be the
biggest storyline of this year's draft? You know, just so
you know, a couple of months ago, we were talking
about you know, your door saying this is possible to
be in the number one player taking off the board
and going to Tennessee. If not that, then you know
maybe Cleveland Browns or that definitely give them at three
for the New York Giants. And uh, none of this

(04:58):
has happened. And now you know, we're on day three,
and you know, you look at all the quarterbacks that
have been taken before them, and you look at their
college careers, and you look at what your door has
been able to do playing the quarterback was in college football,

(05:19):
and then you begin to evaluate the players. You start
comparing what they have with combers in college versus what
your door has been able to do. And from an
evaluation standpoint, there are few guys that have been drafted
before him that.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
I don't believe that they are his caliber of talent.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
So when you look at it like that, there have
to be something more than football, more than performance base.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
What is that?

Speaker 4 (05:51):
We don't know because you know, we've been hearing conflicting
reports of uh, you know how we're meeting went, or
you know how it's pro day was. He wasn't delivering
the ball on time. Man, he couldn't throw them, fit
the ball in the different windows and things of that nature.
But it's crazy how I'm hearing people saying that, you know,

(06:13):
he's going to be a bust. And what what I
would say to that is there are a lot there
have been a lot of quarterbacks taken in this NFL
draft who have went a lot higher than he has been.
First pick, second pick, third picks, and a lot of
those players, I'm not going to name them because that's
not that's not what I'm here for, but they were busted.

(06:36):
So if you're considering your door Sanders to already be
a bust, if he goes out and have any success,
then you already have got the return in your investment.
You're saying that you know, oh he's a sixth round
pick and he's that. Well, there are there are a
few teams out there in the NFL that really have

(06:57):
not solidified their quarterback position. You look at the New
England Patriots, you look at the Minnesota Vikings, you look
at the Carolina Panthers, you look at the Seattle Seahawks.
And can you confirm and and and honestly say that
these starting quarterbacks that are in these organizations say that

(07:23):
they are better quarterbacks than Shador Sanders.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
I think it's for debate.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
This is one thing I.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Do know, based off of, you know, comparing college careers.
I believe that shud Door Sanders is a better quarterback
than Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I really do believe that.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
And also you look down and and Jacksonville, jackson Dark.
If you say Jacksonville, what has what has he been
able to do as the first pick in the drafts.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Hasn't done much? He hasn't done much. He's he's got
to the playoffs. He has gotten to the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
He's gotten to the playoffs. But I can't sit here
say that Trevor Lawrens and David Jones are better quarterbacks
than let your door Sanders based off of what college
career Trevior Treviy lawnce, you want a couple of world championship,
college national championships. I'm looking at a Daniel Jones if
he gets the opportunity to be to work the sixth

(08:23):
pick in the draft, and what he has done up
to this point, I can almost guarantee you that your
Doors Sanders will have a better professional football career at
quarterback than of Daniel Jones.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
All Right, we got TJ on TJ your initial take,
and we're we're at nine to nine. We got to
get out at twelve. But we're gonna obviously clearly take
this into as many segments as we need to. So
but if I got to cut you off, I'm gonna
cut you off by I'm letting you know that right now.
So but let's let's let's get your shull thought on it.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Obviously, I'm like everybody else. It's shocked when you have
a kid that is supposed to be a first round
pick and they don't get drafted in the first round.
You say, okay, wow, I was very surprising to be

(09:22):
picked earlier in the second round.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
M hmm.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
You don't get picked in the second round. Now it's
a problem. Now they're they're they're sending a message. This
is a message being sent that nobody is bigger than
the program. The program is the NFL, bigger than the

(09:48):
shield nobody. And you say, like, why does he have
to be you know, the the example, the NFL is
a machine, man, it's a machine. It doesn't matter who's
playing the NFL. It's going Tom Brady retire, it's going,

(10:10):
they're gonna find a new star. We were done playing.
It's going they're gonna it. Don't it doesn't matter who's playing.
You either gonna go with the program or you ain't playing.
And I don't know what he's done to not be
with the program. That's the thing. And when when you look,

(10:31):
all you can think of is, damn, they really disliked
Dion that much that they're gonna take it out on
his kids? Did they dislike Prime so much that they
taking it out on his kids? Because we can say, oh,
Shuder can't do this, he can't do that. But when

(10:53):
you're supposed to be a first round pick and you
don't get drafted in the top three rounds, it's personal.
It's personal. This has nothing to do with fo what
has to be personal, but what you're gonna do about it,
because this is what happens. And you guys know this

(11:14):
because you guys were both first round picks. When you're
a first round pick, you have plenty of rope. You
get plenty of opportunity. You can fail and fail and fail,
and you still don't get opportunity. You go on the
fourth round. I mean you may get one or two chances.

(11:35):
You don't get as much leeway. And so now he's
gonna be putting a situation wherever he gets drafted, how
much opportunity in lee wan rope will he get? Very little?
You guys don't know that because you guys are first
round picks, and y'all may have come in and bald
right away, But when you are a late round pick,

(11:57):
it didn't matter. You were gonna start. They they already
knew Leavar Arrington is starting. It's just a matter of when,
not if anybody that's not a first round pick. Maybe, man,
you got a scratching claw. So now he has to
be perfect. You don't have room for error. And I
feel so bad for him in his family because when

(12:21):
you were he's a kid you he couldn't sleep last night. Man,
he's a young kid, bro, he couldn't he couldn't sleep
last night. He couldn't sleep last night. How hard it
was for him to sleep. And they they're they're saying
and they're doing the right thing. You know, you know
how stradden like. It's something you know when you're trying

(12:44):
to eat and you can't eat, you can't keep it down,
you're just forcing yourself to eat. You chewing and you
can't really swallow like that nervous energy. But you're in
this situation in a fighter, You're not gonna stand in
the corner. I'm fighting my way out that corner. And
that's what he's gonna have to do, because this is
a situation that he's in. The question everybody wants to

(13:05):
know is and what we ever get the answer is why?

Speaker 3 (13:09):
M hmm. I think it's definitely a reality check. We
gotta we gotta take a break. We're gonna take a break,
but we're gonna keep the conversation going on. We're gonna
come back and we're gonna continue to to talk through this. Uh,
there was a draft outside of Shador Sanders, obviously, because
he hasn't even been drafted yet, so he hasn't even
really been a part of the draft, but yet he's
the biggest storyline out of the draft. We're gonna continue

(13:32):
to have that conversation. That's t J. Hutchman's Plexico burst.
I'm LeVar Arrington. This is up on Game and this
is Fox Sports Radio. We'll be right back listening.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
To Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
All right, welcome back into the show. This is up
on Game, Plexico burds, t J. Hushman's out of LeVar Arrington. Yeah,
we're gonna continue this conversation surrounding uh Chud Sanders and
not being drafted. It's like, I don't know, I you know, guys,

(14:06):
coming into it, I'm kind of a little conflicted on
us having such an in depth conversation about it because
I feel like the media has is partly to blame
for all of this, and and there's so much to
be discussed. But I ultimately feel like, and let me
throw this one out at you guys, because I have

(14:28):
I have my thoughts on this, but I'm gonna let
y'all kind of, you know, get it out of y'all's
y'all system as well. But let me throw this one
out at you. I know, we talked about he was
Shador Sanders, a highly rated guy that you know, being
projected to go, you know, in the first round. And

(14:49):
you know, the ultimate question I kept coming back to
is from who I think you got to answer that?
Like that to me is a question that it's like, Okay,
the media has said that the media has anointed Shador
Sanders as a top draft pick. Can we think of
like in general, when you hear of top guys and

(15:10):
when they're going to go in the draft and how
they're being projected, a lot of times you will hear
things that kind of confirm from teams that this is
how you know, the GMS or the scouts feel about
this prospect. I can't say I heard that about Shador.
In fact, it was the opposite. I've heard. I've heard
a lot of things surface from the teams and from

(15:32):
the franchises that were negatively speaking on Shador, whether it
be because of his dad, whether it be because of
the way they feel he played. But I didn't hear
the confirmation. Then I did the Draft show this past Thursday,
and I was with Jay Glazer and Jay said, listen,
I hit Shador in the family up and told them,

(15:53):
you know, don't don't have any cameras there because you're
not on any team's first first day ticker, which means
that people already knew that were really really close to it,
They already knew he wasn't going to go in the
first round. So I would ask you, guys, you know,
is that a legit? Is that a fair question to have?
Is there a chance that the media created an expectation

(16:17):
that is connected to Shador Sanders and that was an
undoing in terms of why things were, you know, possibly
panning out the way that they were panning out.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Listen, I don't think that the media created any expectations
about Shador and and where he was supposed to be drafted.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Can you not.

Speaker 4 (16:39):
Agree that the college seasons or career that he had
confirmed that he was one of the best quarterbacks in
college football?

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Can we not say that?

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I say, I'll say this, I don't know that that's
a fair accurate readout in terms of so.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
So so, what do we be seen getting picked that
If we're not judging or evaluating the performance of a player,
then how.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Do you where do you get drafted?

Speaker 3 (17:10):
How do you get drafts based off well, I do
think it's based off of that. But you can have
guys that have won like, for instance, I give you
a great example. Who was the quarterback at hold On
hold On You asked.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Me, answer you, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
If you take the quarterback from Ohio State that won
the Heisman, wasn't that Troy was it Troy? I'm Smith.
Troy Smith wasn't a highly rated guy coming into the draft,
but he was certainly looked at as one of the
top players and in college football he won the Heisman,
he won the most coveted award.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
We know how that goes.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
Every hero that goes to the neation level is not
a great a professional football player.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
So and so correct. So to answer your question, when
you're looking at these players and you're ranking these players,
and if it's by you know, what their success has
been at the college level, that doesn't necessarily translate to
the scouts that this is going to be a guy
that we want to spend the first round draft people.
Oh oh, that would just be my response to that question.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
What I'm trying to say is, if you take all
of these quarterbacks that are coming out this year in
the NFL draft, can you not say that he is
one of the top two or three quarterbacks in this draft.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
I would say that you can say that.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
So if it's not based on him being able to
play the game of football, then what is it? Just
like TJ said, I believe it's personal. If you're getting
to this point day three, I.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Believe it's getting personal.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
And what they're basically saying is what they're basically saying,
is that that telling him personally, if you don't want
to humble yourself, we will. That's what I believe they're
saying that if you don't want to humble yourself, Okay,
we don't believe that you are that good of a

(19:07):
player in all thirty two teams that we have to
put us your door Sanders on our roster. We don't
have to hapish your door Sanders on our team. So
now I believe that it's personal, and now it's becoming
a distraction. So now when he does get drafted to

(19:28):
that team, the whole talk about Shador Sanders being drafted
now is why did you take them? And I want
to see what the response is going to be from
that head coach or organization if he does.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Get drafted that they don't have to pick him.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
But when he does gets drafted, the question is going
to be, why did you draft Shador Sanders?

Speaker 3 (19:55):
I mean, does he get drafted, does he get drafted?

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Does he get drafted? He does get drafted, he'll be drafted.
This is the thing, man, All the experts, everybody that's
been doing this or before we played, all the experts,
the Male Kuipers of the world, the t j a
to the world, the Todd Mishades of the world, the
Daniel Jeremiah's of the world. They all hashiaw Derrick Sanders

(20:24):
the first round pick, every last one of them.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
But they've been wrong before.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Listen, listen, levard listen. You can be wrong with a
guy going in the top ten. When you have somebody
as a first round pick, you may not go where
they have you, but you're gonna go in the first round.
The majority of it. These dudes have been doing this
before we were playing, and they're still doing it.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
I get it. So to me, but you know the
pre draft reports.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Did you hear the pre draft for you never hear
anything come.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
You've never heard anything come from the from the organizations.
That's you think about it, because la.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Far you never do far, you never do Yes, you
do where?

Speaker 3 (21:12):
What do you mean where? You will hear it from
a GM. You will hear it from a GM. This
is a generational talent. We're we're going to do all
we can to get a hold of that place. It does.
That happens every year, That happens all the time, TJ.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
You heard him coaches pretty much said. You heard the
coach say pretty much same thing. Sheder Sanders is a
good quarterback. He's thissy. They're never going to say a guy, oh,
he's a first round pick. This is all I'm saying.
Is this. The reports that came out prior to the
draft of his meetings at the Combine, his interactions at
the Combine, they didn't like him. They were some of

(21:50):
the worst meetings they had been involved. He he was
overly confident, borderline cocky, and we had discussions about that.
You know, if my confidence makes you feel a certain way,
you insecure. Well, obviously those meetings rubbed a lot of
people the wrong way. Those meetings, his interactions, those interactions

(22:14):
rubbed people the wrong way because it's very very rare
that a guy is supposed to be a first round
pick and here we are in Round four, pick oneh
eight and he still hasn't been picked.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
At best.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
We've never seen anything like this unless a kid has
had some issues prior to the draft. Oh you guys
recall when somebody it was years ago, who was it
was a possible murder suspect. Unless it's something like that,

(22:57):
you're not getting drafted. We sud is. Could it be
there that they don't want all the cameras around, They
don't want the circus that comes with it, all the cameras,
all of this, And are they sending a message. That's
the only thing I can think of because on the field,
on the field, on the field, his play said I

(23:18):
should be drafted in the first round on the field,
right off the field.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
I'm gonna take it a step further. The Carolina Panthers,
I will say, the Minnesota Vikings and the New England Patriots.
If you were to add Shador Sanders to one of
those teams, he might be the best quarterback on your roster.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
Might be it might be. All Here's what I'm gonna say.
Bottom line, talent talks, BS runs marathons, fellas Hey talent marathons, TJ.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
Have you seen JJ McCarthy piss down in the NFL
never Okay, So how can you say that JJ McCarthy's
a better quarterback than Shu Door centers because we don't
keeps draft in the fir We don't know, but we
don't know if you ain't never seen him play, and
we ain't seen Shador Sanders play.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
No, all I.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Would say is Deon Sanders if y'all want to talk
about all of the confidence and this, that and the other,
and this might be why they don't want the circus
and Deon Sanders is probably considered to be the most
flamboyant player that has ever played this game ever, ever,

(24:34):
and that man still went fifth overall. You know what
he did, He ran his forty at his at his
pro day and rolled out to go play baseball. Rolled
out to go play baseball. If by, if by, if
by the way you guys standard of what you guys
are putting out there, Deon Sanders should have been in
the same situation that Shador is in right now. But

(24:57):
he's not because because talent, talent is the bottom line.
Talent talks and BS runs marathons. If Shad Door Sanders,
let me.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Let me, let me let me your point is wrong.
Your point is wrong. Okay, Sanders was a defensive backs
is a quarterback? It does matter. It's a different ball
game when you it does matter. Your quarterback has to
be different. And you know it and we all know it.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
I know the quarterback position has to be quarterback as differently.
I understand what's different. But you're still we're still talking
about a prospect. We're still talking about a prospect and.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Looking back and a prospect that's a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
Y'all never said one time. So so you're so you're
picking and choosing when you want to qualify things because
you haven't said quarterback one time until just now. You
did not say quarterback one time until just now.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Quarterback?

Speaker 3 (25:56):
But how did you say it now? We don't have
to use that as a qualified We don't have to
use it as a qualifier. You said us guys, me
and Plexico, they go day one, we're not quarterbacks either.
We're not quarterbacks either.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
You're going to be fund gets, more leeway, more rope.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
We are going to be measured and judged off of
the value that you bring to a team and what
their their their work and their homework is and their
information is on that prospect. Doesn't matter what your position is.
If you're a degenerate, if you're if you're someone who's
going to be in trouble, it does not matter what

(26:35):
your position is. You are not going to get drafted.
They're not going to get drafted. You're not going to
get drafted. It does matter the quarterbacks position. Not debating
with you, guys, is not It's not. It is a
more important position. I am not debating that as a prospect.

(26:55):
What you do as a prospect is all the same.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
It's all saying quarterback, you're a quarterback. It matters.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
The bottom line is if he was a talent, if
he was a talent at the level of his father,
of his dad, We're not having this conversation. We're not
having how.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Many people and and and and in the whole two
hundred years national football, how many players have been deon Sanders.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
All I'm gonna say is Travis Hunter is just as confident,
if not the same, as Shador Sanders. Same amount of attention,
same amount of coverage, same school, same coach. So how
is that.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Travis Hunter is more He's more reserved Thaners. He's part
of that.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
Team he's got, he is at he's he is.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
A little more reserved. Come on, man, it's is a
little more reserved.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
All I'm gonna say is is y'all y'all tripping right now.
That man is out there. That man is out there
in the social media doing his dances, doing the celebrations,
the way he speaks on his game. It's not a
bad thing. Like it's not that it's a derogatory thing.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
It's not.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
I don't I don't understand why y'all were watching, Because
we are watching.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
We are watching teams draft quarterbacks who are not better
plays correct than.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Saying hold on, it's gonna matter the team needs.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Cam Ward was not even a top ten.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
Rating because he had a phenomenal season last year. He
had a number one at Miami exactly. I don't season.
I guess that's what makes things work.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Cam going the nurse one ticker.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
As a quarterback, you're drafted off of your collegiate performance.
Nothing they're gonna be contributing factors to you being drafted.
But cam Ward and should Door Sanders almost had identical stats.
Cam Ward is drafted off having a phenomenal senior college

(29:24):
season period point blank, Who.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Was the second best quarterback in the draft.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
Should sand us from a performance standpoint, he was the
second best quarterback in college football?

Speaker 3 (29:38):
People would debate that period Jackson dark off.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Of performance and statistics, he was the best, second best
quarterback in the draft period point blank.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
All I know is all I know is this all
the screens he went from.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
Being possibly the number one quarterback being taken off the board.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Y'all, y'all have yourselves in the position of all these
other media people that are approaching this situation the way
that they're approaching this situation. I'm not void of.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
I went straight from the draft to basketball.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
Mean, the perpetuation of why the Shador Sanders has fallen
in the draft is crazy to me. People are crashing
out over it, and they can be upset and disappointed, but.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
You're basically you're that's what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
What I'm saying, if he was, he would get drafted.
If he was, he would get drafted. Like all this
compared co conspiracy theories connected to all of this and the.

Speaker 4 (30:48):
Media and all these plenty of young men that have
been drafted into.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
This league that we know of that didn't deserve to
be drafted. Oh of our I mean you were drafted
the two thousand or two thousand, where.

Speaker 4 (31:04):
You drafted two thousand and they were they were based
off of things that what performance based.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Plex What year were you drafted in two thousand, same
year ninety two thousand. Okay, So you guys having that
since been involved in the NFL twenty six years. Okay, Now,
when is another time you can call this situation? When
when's the last time you call the situation?

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Has Deon Sanders as a dad. Here's no time, there's
no time to read to recall it. I don't know.
I've never heard of a prospect. I didn't have to
do it say that as never. I've never heard of
it for anyone, like whether it turned out they went
number one overall or didn't get drafted at all. I mean,

(31:54):
I know, I know that. I mean in terms of
the coverage of the prospect, because there have been famous
players that have their kids going into the draft, but
it's never been as publicized as this. Their their daddy
didn't coach them the entire way through through you know,
their entire career. It's never happened. It's not even a
comp there's no comp to this.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
So I'm gonna take it a step further.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
So you think that now Deon Sanders may change his
tune of exploring the opportunity of being an NFL.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Here the NFL.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
Here's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
We're gonna.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
We're gonna continue the conversation because it's not over. It's
not it's the conversation isn't over yet. So let's let's
we'll put a cap on it. But this segment is
and and, but before it is, you know, the person
that gets the mic drop is mister Isaac Longing. Let's
get an update. Let's get a trip trip from I low.

Speaker 5 (32:48):
Nine picks into round four of the NFL draft, Shador
Sanders still yet to be selected. Round four began with
the Tennessee Titans drafting Florida receiver Chim Ray dk. Then
the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Virginia Tech running.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Back basevill You drafted a quarterback, allow, I'm sorry, you
said a quarterback?

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Who Florida? Oh, I'm sorry Tennessee.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Yes, Tennessee drafted Florida receiver Chim Ray DKA.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Yeah, sorry about that. No quarterbacks so far, right.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
No quarterbacks yet?

Speaker 5 (33:16):
In round four, then with the one hundred and fifth
overall pick, the New York Giants drafted Arizona State running
back Cam Skataboo.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
He goes to the New York Giants.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
The New England Patriots then selected Cal safety Craig Woodson.
The Jacksonville Jaguars then drafted Notre Dame linebacker Jack Kaiser.
And how's this for trivia, It's the first time that
Jacksonville has ever drafted someone named Jack. Then the Las
Vegas Raiders selected Tennessee receiver Dante Thornton Junior. The Buffalo
Bills draft in Kentucky defensive tackle Dion Walker. The Jets

(33:49):
selected Georgia receiver Arian Smith. The Philadelphia Eagles, the defending
Super Bowl champions, drafted Nebraska defensive tackle Ty Robinson, And
moments ago at one hundred and twelve overall, that Saints
selected Oklahoma linebacker Danny Stutzman. Right now, the San Francisco
forty nine ers are on the clock with the one
hundred and thirteenth overall pick in the fourth round. Today's

(34:10):
NBA Playoff action tips off at the top of the
hour Game three from Miami, with the Cleveland Cavaliers leading
the heat two games to none.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Guys back to you. All right, we're gonna take a
quick break. We're gonna come back, and we're gonna button
this up at the you know this this hour. Yeah,
it's a conversation. I can provide my perspective on it
and close it up at the end of this if
y'all want to. But if y'all want to scream at

(34:37):
me and cut me off, I'll just let y'all finish
it off. But we'll see how that goes. On the
other side of this break, I get bullied. I get
bullied by riot receivers. It's racial, y'all. This is Fox
Sports Ring. Yeah, up all game.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
T J.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
Hutchman's out of Plexico Burds. I'm getting jumped by the
superheroes today, by the super Friends.

Speaker 2 (34:55):

Cuffs the Legend coming on. In the second hour of
the show, we will be talking NBA. But before we
get done with this, this hour of talking about Shador
Sanders and how the NFL has done this man the
wrong way and how horrible it is and he's a

(36:18):
kid and all these other things. What's y'all last what's
y'all final word on the Chador Sanders situation. I don't.
I'm gonna be honest with you. The longer it takes,
the longer the further it's going out. There's the chance
that he may go undrafted fellas I I'm just being
on reality.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Hey man, I was a late round pick. Excuse me.
At this point you almost got to be perfect anyway.
But you almost have to be perfect anyway, so drafted
under it, don't you gotta be perfect your lee way,
and the amount of opportunities you're gonna get will be
very very small. This is what I will say, is

(36:58):
this at this point, should there Sandersy just look in
the mirror and recall all his interactions with these teams
and whatever you felt like? I probably should. They're sending
a message. The meetings we had with you we didn't like.
You thought that report was BS. No, we didn't like

(37:18):
those meetings, and you thought those meetings didn't matter. You
probably didn't take them as serious as you should have.
I don't know what it is, but a message is
being sent. It's like I said earlier, Man, this the NFL, man,
they don't care who is in it. The show going
on with.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
The without you, they don't care final work.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
I think that the over line, the overland thing of
the whole matter is everybody's forgetting one thing. They don't
have to draft them. They don't have to do anything.
Just like you say, he may not be drafted. So
what messages that sin to Shador and you know, everybody

(38:03):
else and all these young men coming out of college
and nobody has to sign them to an NFL team.
They may even take it to that extent. But I hope,
you know, moving forward, for him, he will get an
opportunity to play at the next level. But there's no
guarantee that any team has to draft or sign of

(38:29):
Shador Sanders.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
You know, I'm gonna say this. As much as I
love and respect Prime, I'm just not going to misrepresent
myself in this situation. You know, I believe there is
a deeper reason for Shador still being undrafted. I really do.
But the narrative. But the narrative nonetheless plays out every year,
and that's what happens, and just this time, it happened

(38:54):
to the son of one of the greatest football players
and athletes of all time. I think that's the only
difference there is that it happened to one of the
most high profile, most celebrated players and athletes in the
history of all sport. That's what it is. And I'm
with you TJ on this. We can agree on this.

(39:17):
If you get your opportunity, make it work. Make it work.
You gotta be perfect. I mean, you're more likely to
get struck by lightning than you are to get drafted
or play in the National Football League. That is a
true stat You are more likely to win the lottery
than to make it into the National Football League and

(39:40):
play in the National Football League. That is a true stat. So,
no matter how you get there, if you get an
opportunity to play in the National Football League and make
money and that's your dream and that's what you want
to do, and you get that opportunity to land on
a roster, don't take any malice. Just take take that
pain that you feel when you eat and couldn't sleep

(40:01):
and you felt like they didn't do you right. Take
that and you use that as the ultimate motivation to
be the best that you can possibly be. That's really
the only advice I can offer to Shador And knowing
that this is the situation that he's incause no matter
how outraged people get or whatever it is, the bottom
line remains is that he hasn't been drafted yet, and

(40:21):
whatever his situation is going to be, it's going to
be his situation and he's going to have to get
out of it. This is up on Game. It's TJ.
Huschman Zada, It's Plechko Burst. Hour two is coming up
at you Cuffs. The Legend will be joining the show.
We're gonna talk basketball, hopefully lighten up the mood of
the show. Stay locked in Fox Sports Radio.
