Speaker 3 (01:50):
Baby, Hey for first off, plex you know, oh yeah,
hey man, it's overcast.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
You know what we've been getting out here? Man? What
was the overcast in the morning?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Like we're in the Pacific Northwest or something, and the
sun been coming up at like eleven twelve noon noonish
every day.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Man, how is it out there? How are you?
Speaker 4 (02:12):
It was nice for a couple of days, but today
a little crispy, a little under the weather, little rain cloud.
So that's what we're dealing with here on the East Coast.
And it hasn't really quite no transferred into summer yet.
So we went from like winter to summer. There was
(02:35):
no spring. We got a few hot days, and now
it feels like it's spring, cold and rainy. So hopefully, man,
if you get ironed out, we.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Don't half none of that.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
No cold, no raine. It's just a little overcast early
in the morning, the worst. But we got some topics
that we got to speak on my former team, the Bengals,
and Shamar Stewart.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Dak say, hey, it's championship or bus.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
So I thought it was like that for the Cowboys
every year, so maybe this year is a little more important.
Michael Parks is keeping the longer you wait, the more
you're gonna pay me. We've been saying that for years.
But a Jerry Jones wants to do the player as
a favor. It's waited a little longer, piss them off,
pam a little more money. And then Joe Flacco with
the TikTok. We'll get in all that, and then we
(03:20):
got our boy cuffs the second hour this NBA Finals,
although many aren't watching it, it's a very very competitive season.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
But we gonna kick this off with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Shamar Stewart, I don't know if you saw the interview
and the crazy thing about this, and I'll be very transparent.
I was just in Cincinnati this week, and so I
go out there to the mini camp practice and that
nice conversation with with Shamar. We'll talk about some of
(03:56):
the things that we talked about. There's things that I
won't bring up that me and him also talked about.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
But the team looks good.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
But you on the defensive side of the ball, you
don't have your Rockie first round draft pick in He
was participating as far as just being there, being present,
not practicing. Trey Hendrickson obviously he didn't show up. What
what do you take from him having a contract dispute
(04:28):
with the Bengals in the new CBA, which was enacting
I believe in twenty twenty twelve or twenty thirteen were
supposed to eliminate this. All rikies are slotted. Everybody should
be signed in the camp right away. What's your take
on this?
Speaker 4 (04:48):
Uh, you know, it's the changing of the guard man,
I believe, you know, I don't understand, you know, why
the young man hadn't been signed, but you know, you know,
parent he was just asking for what everybody else is
asking for in the Cincinnati Bengals or not willing to
meet his demands. But I think that you know, just
(05:10):
you know, going over the whole thing is that Zach
Taylor said that he had positive conversations with him, He
had he had a positive approach.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
In practice, Uh, he was, he was, he was ahead
of the curve learning, and they didn't have any issues
with him. So I mean that's the that's the good
part of about this whole thing with with Stewart. But
let's not get it confused. Man, this this is still
a business. When I came into the league and with
(05:41):
two thousand, I held out for two weeks.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
I don't want to interrupt you.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Yeah, but when you when you came in, that's when guys,
there was no slot, your agent was able to negotiate
what your agent could have got you one hundred million
dollars deal if you could, they weren't able to negotiate.
Now it's this guy gets this because last year receives this.
It's a little different, well a lot different. Yeah, I mean,
this is what.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
These guys are doing because now they have more you know,
control over you know, their business side of it.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
I believe that that we did when we came out.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
I mean the flexibilities that these guys have now are
days being able to I don't get redrafted or not
sign the contract, or ask for you know, different things
in the contract. A lot of Caleb Williams, he was
asking for things that were unforeseen, you know, moving forward.
But I'm not going to get in front of a
guy for you know, trying to exercise his right to
(06:39):
get what he wants from a financial standpoint, planning in
his business, because it's a it's a it's a it's
a it's a pay basically for play kind of deal
or contract when you win the league NFL and playing
in these business because you're not performing, you're not going
to be there very long. So you know, from a
financial standpoint. From I'm a business side of it, I'm
(07:03):
pretty sure that this young man and his agent knows
exactly what they are doing. They know what they want
from a financial standpoint, I mean, and let's not get it,
you know, Michigan stutter. I mean, the Cincinnati Bengals have
always been a cheap organization.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
I mean, so they.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Haven't really jumped out of the window as far as
Joe Burrow Jamar Chase with paying players, you know, trying
to keep that whole you know, infrastructure in tax so
they can go out and compete for a world championship.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
So I'm not I don't have anything bad.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
To say about you know, Shamar Stewart and leaving camp
because if he's not getting paid, then why I'm I
out here playing. I mean, so I totally understand where
he's at. And uh, you know, you have to, you know,
stand for what you believe in in this business, because
that is what it is. This is a performance driven
(07:55):
business and you get paid off of performing.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
So obviously I just said I was at the Bengals
mini camp. I have a lot of love for the
Bengals organization just because of the opportunity they gave me
to play in the National Football League. Now, y'all know,
I'm gonna be honest. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. I
got love for the Bengals, but I'm gonna be honest
(08:21):
and I always have and I always will be. So
during the practice, I had a nice conversation with Shamar
probably ten to fifteen minutes. Had another conversation with him
at lunch, talk to him on the phone recently. Today
is Saturday, I believe Thursday. Just kind of giving him
(08:42):
some advice. But this is what I will say. The Bengals,
they are putting him in a situation where if he
folds to what they want, it's an interpretation in the
contract that's gonna infect his guaranteed money. But last year's
draft pick didn't have it in his contract the twenty
(09:05):
twenty three first round draft pick, first round or didn't
have it in his contract, But you want to put
it in my contract. So you want me to fold,
but you didn't want them to fold. And so now
if he quote unquote folds and gives in, it makes
him and his agent look bad. And that's the biggest
thing is the Bengals are approaching this as a business
(09:28):
like you said, but so is his agent, because if
his agent folds, what happens to his business moving forward?
His business is getting more kids and more clients. Now
they may become and I don't know who his agent is.
It could be a lack of respect on the Bengals end.
They don't respect his agent because of who he is.
(09:48):
I don't know that that's speculation, but does he maybe
need to look at getting different representation people that have
clout in the industry, meaning agents, people that have respect
in the industry. I don't know how that figures out
when they get down that road, but I'll just they
(10:10):
are putting their backing him in a corner and he
wants to beat there. Like plex man, when you talk
to this dude, Shamar, he is so intelligent, really smart
young man, like shockingly and I say that with all
due respect, and I told him this, I said, bro,
you are really really intelligent man, very very well spoken,
(10:35):
and he was showing good faith. He was at OTA's
not practicing, but he was there. He was at the
first two days of mini camp, not practicing, but he
was there. I believe when he left mini camp the
last day he should have just stayed now because that
brought more attention to what he was doing and the
(10:57):
interview he gave. After all, the Bengals is insured and
winning and contract negotiations, then they're winning games. So my
conversation was, just be careful with what you say, watch
what you say. You're a rookie, and although we all
believe we're gonna come in here and do work, when
you put them him as a shoulder pads on, it's
a different game compared to college. It's a different game.
(11:20):
And so just watch what you say and let your
gang speak for yourself. And then if you want to
get out and do that talk and go ahead and
do it. I just feel like he is in between
a rock and a hard place with his representation when
it comes to this because if he caves in, it
makes them look bad.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
And I don't know if he needs to go.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Hire better representation because I don't know who he has.
But we also know plex when you have an agent
that has some clout, he's respected and treated differently, and
so I just wish him the best. Man, I hope
they got to figure this out. We can't have Trey
Hendrickson not in camp, and the guy we drafted to
be his replace, Smith not in camp as well, So
(12:04):
we gotta figure this out, Like, come on, man, we
can't we can't have Man, the.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Bengals always find a way to mess it up.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
We can't have these aspirations of a big season and
we already starting off.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Behind ave Ball. I don't know where we go from here.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Man, were gonna have to take this break, but that
that's how we had to get this show started.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
I love the Bingles. They they gave me my chance.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
But I will always always be honest when it comes
to situations. And if we had to pick who in
like which side was wrong, I would have to say
the Bengals because of you didn't do it to last
year's pick, and you didn't do it two year before
pick and and why you want to do it to me.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Hopefully we got a great show.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
No, no, hopefully we got a great for sure y'all,

on YouTube. Now, Mister Dak Prescott, mister Dallas cowboy himself.
He wants to He says, I gotta bring I must
bring a Super Bowl ring to the Dallas Cowboys in
the city. I don't care about my legacy. I just
want to bring a Super Bowl ring to the Cowboys. Now,
(14:09):
if you bring a Super Bowl ring to the Cowboys,
doesn't that do great things for your legacy. So it's
like I'm killing a bird two stones one bird or
one bird with two stones, or whatever the saying is. Yeah,
I'm gonna two birds with one stone. Yeah, I can't
get it right. I'm dyslexic. Now, if you win a
(14:30):
Super Bowl and you're Dak Prescott, that does so much
for your legacy. So why not bring a Super Bowl
ring for the team, because that's all you want to do.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
You don't want to do anything for your legacy.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
The Cowboys have been one of the better teams in
the National Football League for as long as I can remember.
As long as I can remember, they've been one of
the better teams. They just can't get over the hump.
And it's very similar plex to what we just discussed
last Secon with the Bengals. Nobody ever looks at Jerry
(15:05):
Jones as the Cowboys as being a cheap organization. That's
what you said about the Bengals cheap organization. When you
look at what the Cowboys have done with their players
and their contracts very very similar. They did it with
Dak Prescott, not once, but twice. They did it with
Ceedee Lamb, they did it with Ezekiel Elliott. They're doing
(15:26):
it now with Michael Parsons. And so what is the
difference about that and what is your take on Dak
Prescott said, I want to win a Super Bowl ring,
but I don't care about my legacy.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
I mean, at this point in his career, you know,
Dak Prescott is what turning thirty two. I believe he's
two and five in the playoffs. If I was to
ask you what was his legacy, what would you say?
He can't win the big game? Can't win the big game? So,
you know, twelve and five. I believe he was a
run up to the MVP in two thousand and in
(16:05):
twenty three, twelve and five for the next three next
three years, but just can't figure out a way to
get it done. Dak Prescott, you just Dallas, Dallas Cowboys
are not going to win the championship. Let me just
put it that way first and foremost, and you know,
(16:25):
we just bobbed the whole thing about you know, the
Dallas Cowboys not being cheap, and now they're saying that
they won't extend Michael Parsons going into this season. It's
just something's kind of fishy about that the way that
Jerry Jones is approaching this, Because I really honestly believe
if Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys don't do not
go out this year and make the playoffs or make
(16:47):
a deep run into you know, the playoffs, or maybe
or contend for a Super Bowl. I just don't see
how they can keep on moving forward with Dak Prescott.
I just don't see how you can do that thirty
two going on thirty three. If they don't get to
the playoffs, that's gonna be a whole different, you know,
(17:08):
story and program for the Dallas Cowboys moving forward if
they do not get to the playoffs. With Brian shat
Enhama being in his first year as a contract and now,
so if you don't make it to the playoffs, what
do you do if you're a Jerry Jones. And as
far as extending Michael Parsons, I don't believe he does.
I believe he lets him hit the hit the market
and see what you can get for him and try
(17:29):
to rebuild this organization.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Wit Waite PLEXA. You hear what you're saying. I'm telling
you what I'm telling you what I'm saying. Are you listening.
I don't believe that's feasible with his contract. He just
signed an extension last year.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
I do not believe that if the Dallas Cowboys do
not make the playoffs this year, that then the following
season that Dak Prescott will be the quarterback of his team.
I just don't see how you do it because it's
the same mold old thing rhetoric over and over and
over again. It's been like that for the last decade.
(18:06):
Twelve and five cannot find a way to make a
deep run into the playoffs. You have one of the
best defenses in all of football a couple of years
ago under Dan Quinn. Look at what he's doing in Washington.
You re up Dak Prescott with this, with this, you know,
one of the biggest contracts in NFL history. Nothing has
(18:27):
changed with this organization. And now you've got this guy,
Michael Parson sitting on the edge of this whole.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
You know the thing with him moving forward?
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Are you really going to make him the highest paid
defender and all of football when your football team can't
even make the playoffs. I don't believe that they do that,
because if the Dallas Cowboys were really serious about keeping
Michael Michael Parsons and making him the corner zone to
this graduate, to this organization, then they will find a
(18:58):
way to get his extended and to get him a
new contract going into this year. So that's why I'm
saying all of this because it doesn't make any sense
to me or anybody else why you wouldn't give Michael
Parson's the contract that he deserves being forward based off
of what he's done.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
They wouldn't give you more money. They gonna keep with
they want.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
So you think they holding out the next year to
give them more money.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
I don't believe that's the case at all.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
I believe if they don't do well, they don't make
it to the playoffs, that Michael Parson is gonna be
used as a bargaining ship to revamp this organization and
to be able to see what they can get for
him moving forward, because I do not believe that Jerry
Jones is waiting to re sign him for a fifty
(19:47):
plus million dollar a year contract and make him the
highest played defensive playing the league.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
We're gonna get on Michael Parson's next segment, because I'm
not even gonna go there with Michael Parsons right now,
because I got a lot to say about that next sac.
But this is Dak Prescott, this is his own words. Yeah,
I want to win a championship. The legacy, the things,
whatever comes after I finished playing will take care of itself.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
I want to win a championship. Be damned.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
If it's just for my legacy or if it's for
this team, for my personal being, for my sanity. Yeah,
the legacy will take care of itself. I have to
stay where my feet are.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
This is the thing. The teams that.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Dak Prescott has had in years past are far superior
than the team that he's gonna play with this year.
And we can all assume, and we may all say
also the coaches he had in years past was far
superior than a coach head coach that he has this
season in Schottenheimer.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
Well, you can't really say that because Sattenham has been
on the team for the last five years and he's
been the office of coordinator and quarterback coach.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
So you can't make that excuse them. You're the office
of coordinator, but you ain't calling any plays. You the
office a coordinator, you're not. You don't have any say
so and so. And we know that. We know that
from being on teams or the head coach is an
offensive guy. The coordinator is just running the meetings if
the head coach ain't in there. Other than that, that's
the head coach that is the technically the default offensive coordinator.
(21:16):
We all know that. The thing about this and I'm
gonna say something that may be I don't know if
I've heard anybody say this. Honestly, I think the Cowboys
may finish last in this division. If it's a possibility.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
That's why I was.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Getting to ask you, what do you think Dak Prescott
rinked as a quarterback in this division?
Speaker 3 (21:37):
Honestly, Dak Prescott, Jayde Daniels is Jalen Hurts is the
best quarterback because he's taken the Eagles to two Super Bowls,
he's won one. Many will say Jade Daniels, and I'm one,
and I'm part of many. I'm taking Jane Daniel is
(22:00):
the number two. After this year, I'm gonna probably put
Jayde and Daniels to number one. I just need to
see more. His rookie season was great. I just need
to see half of this season. Jayde Daniels is really
the number one quarterback in his vision. I just need
to see more. But out of respect for what Jalen
Hurst just accomplished the season, I'll put him one. Dak
Prescott is three. Obviously, Russell Wilson with the Giants is four.
(22:23):
But if Russell Wilson can play how he played last year,
I think Brian dable and offensive weapons they have and
his system will be a little more better. It will
be a little more to his liking. Russell Wilson's liking
and enabled him to have more success defensively, very similar.
(22:44):
I just I believe the Giants will be a little
more dynamic defensively than what the Pittsburgh theaters were last season.
I believe the Giants are gonna finish third in this division.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Complete.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
The Cowboys are gonna be in the Caboose. They're gonna
be last in this division.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
They not gonna pete for it, and Dak Prescott and
everything that you just said his legacy, He's gonna let
everything take care of himself. If the Dallas Cowboys finishing,
they're lasting the division and don't make the playoffs. What
do you think the Dallas Cowboys do with Dak Prescott
moving forward?
Speaker 3 (23:14):
It depends on where the Cowboys fall in the draft.
If they feel they can draft a franchise quarterback. I
believe they do it. And I don't know who's gonna
trade for Dak Prescott at that salary because not many
people and not.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
Many teams have a team.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
Like the Cowboys have had. They don't have a collection
of talent. If you can't win with that talent, what
you're gonna do with our talent? Three years ago, the
Cowboys had one of the best teams in the National
Football League and went to San Francisco and got smacked.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
Yeah they did, but but Tyron Smith is no longer there,
Zach Zach Martin retired your center, so that that was
the best officer line in all the football Travis Travis
uh Frederick.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
And that's when Diggs was playing. He was every ball
thrown his way was an interception. Yeah, they had DeMarcus Lawrence.
He's no longer there. And like I said, we'll get
into the Micah Parsons uh conversation. Next segment, It's good
that Dak Prescott says he wants to win a championship
for the city of Dallas, and he knows he wants
(24:30):
to cement himself with Treyckman and Roger Stallback. Is the
only quarterbacks to ever win a championship with Dallas Cowboys,
and so only Trey Aikman has been a starting quarterback
for the Cowboys longer than Dak Prescott, and so Prescott,
when you talk Traickman and Roger Straback, those are the
(24:52):
two greatest quarterbacks ever played for the Cowboys, two Hall
of famers. Will Prescott insert himself into to that conversation,
and you know, if you win the championship with the Cowboys,
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
Hey, based off of everything that you just said a
couple of minutes ago, that you believe that the Dallas
Cowboys are going to finish forth in the division. I
do not foresee Dak Prescott taking the Dallas Cowboys to
win a world champion. And the reason I said, the
Philadelphia Eagles are going to continue to get better, hey,
(25:28):
pastor commanders going to continue to get better pass rush.
You look at what the Giants and the Eagles present
on that defensive line, and you just spoke of what
the Cowboys have on the offensive line, and they've drafted
a lot of guys up front the last few years
to compensate for those losses and anticipating those guys retiring.
(25:49):
But the Giants and the Eagles have probably two of
the top five pass rushers in the league, and they're
in the same division as Cowboys. So that's gonna present
a huge problem right there within itself for the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
We don't know what's gonna happen. I know what will
be happening right now. We're gonna check with our guy,
Isaac Laura. I love, we got updates. What you got
for us?
Speaker 1 (26:14):
We do.
Speaker 5 (26:15):
And actually I'm told that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones himself
has a message for the two of you. Let's see
if we can bring.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Him on shuttle Land just a little bit.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
Wow, Jerry little testy apparently on this Saturday.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Am I still online?
Speaker 5 (26:30):
Apparently? So anyway, we will go from the NFL to
the NBA. Because the finals are tied to two wins
apiece thanks to the exploits of Shay Gilgess Alexander the
Oklahoma City Thunder thirty five points and fifteen in the
fourth quarter of Game four last night for a what
eleven to four win at Indiana. Game five on Monday
at Oklahoma City off the Floor, ESPA reports that apparently
(26:54):
the New York Knicks are finally going to get to
talk to someone about their head coaching job. They're planning
to meet with former Memphis head coach Taylor Jenkins as
well as former Sacramento head coach Mike Brown. Golf, after
two rounds of the US opened, Sam Burns a one
shot lead at three under par overall. JJ Spahn one
shot back, Victor Hoblin two back. They're the only players
(27:15):
in the entire field who are under par. Burns and
Spawn will tee off the third round at three thirty
five Eastern time. Meanwhile, tonight, at eight pm Eastern from Edmonton,
game five of the Stanley Cup Final, with the Oilers
and Florida Panthers tied at two wins a piece, three
of the first four games have been decided in sudden
(27:36):
death over time.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Guys, back to you, yeah, man, this hockey was a.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Florida Panthers. They not playing man.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
I thought that Mitton Oiders is gonna win, and the
Florida Panthers said, Florida, you I ain't gonna lie. You
did say that last week. I'm gonna give you your credit.
I don't even want to do that up on game
down on it I did so. I'm about tuck my
head under that Turtle show real quick.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Oh my god, I'm terrible, terrible, terrible.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Now Michael Parsons, he says the Dallas Cowboys are costing
themselves more money by not getting a deal done.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
The longer you wait, the more you gonna pay me.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
And we kind of touched on it a little bit
very briefly last segment.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
What's going on with the Why do they do this?
Speaker 3 (28:30):
They did it with Zeke, they did it with Dak,
they did it with CD last season, and they're doing
it again. They could have signed Michael Parsons thirty five
years now. Miles Garrett is at forty.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
TJ.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Watt want to be at forty one, Michael Parson's gonna
want to be at What are they waiting on? What
is going home? With Jerry Jones? The Dallas Cowboys. You
called the Bengals cheap. Many would say the Cowboys are cheap.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Well, I mean, history have showed us that the Cowboys
have not been cheap when they really he wanted to
keep or you know, keep a keep a player around
or bring him in for a free agency what Jared
Jones is willing to do if he really wants a
player to be on his team. But yeah, you gotta
(29:17):
get this. Jamar Chase is the highest paid non quarterback
in this league at forty point two. So you gotta
just gotta say to yourself. And Micah Parsons has come
out and been very candid about how he feels about
his contract and being paid, and he's being absolutely correct.
I'm letting you know right now, if he goes out,
(29:39):
which you I know that he will go on to
have another great season. I believe he had a twelve
sacks last year. And if he goes out and has
one of these record breaking seasons just fifth, sixteen, seventeen,
eighteen sacks or whatever the case may be, do you
not think that that his is his motivation go on
(30:00):
into this season moving forward, to go out and absolutely
just have one of those seasons to where the Dallas
Cowboys or whoever the case may be. Moving forward, he
may be looking at forty five between forty five and
fifty million dollars a year if you're not willing to
pay him right now. And that's why I don't understand
(30:20):
about this whole situation. The guys from the top two
or three defenders in all of football, you can you
can go Miles Garrel, you can go TJ. Watt, Michael
Parson's in any order that you want to, and nobody
would disagree with who's the better of the three. He's
in that category. And this is he's going into what
(30:41):
his his second deal, still a young player man, still
so much potential in him to keep, you know, getting.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
Better as a player.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
But I just don't understand this part of what Jerry Jones,
you know, is doing. He'd kind of you know, I
did the same thing with cdee Lamb last year and
probably finally came to terms that, you know, this offense
is not going to go up and down the football
field if I don't have cde Lamb on his team.
So they finally got him signed, which didn't have to
(31:13):
go that far. He ended up holding out. So your
offense is better you add George Pickens to this team.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (31:19):
We just spoke about Jack Prescott and his and his uh,
you know, aspirations going into this season.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
But defensively, you don't have the Marcus Lawns anymore. Uh.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
We just talked about tray Trayvon Diggs as being one
of the best coiners back backs in all the football
a couple of years ago. But this is not the
same team defensively, And why would you not want to
keep one of your best players, you know, happy moving
forward by giving him the contract that he deserves. But
(31:52):
I just don't know what Jared Jones is doing. And
then come, you know, going in the next season, what
is he going to be a franchise tag or for
Michael Paulson's moving forward? If you want him, if you
want him to be a member of your football team,
just find a way to get it, dumb, because it's
just going to continue to cost you more money moving forward.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
If you're Jared.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
Jones, listen, if you're Michael Parsons, you can't step on
the field without a contract. You cannot step on that
field in training camp without a new contract. And so
now you did last year with CD and you're gonna
(32:34):
do it this year with Michaeh your best skilled player
on offense, not in camp. Your best player on your
entire team in Michael Parsons, not in camp all because
you're slow playing this contract. He can't risk an injury
when you should have paid him going into last season,
(32:55):
probably could have given them thirty three, thirty two. Maybe
now you're gonna give me ten million more per year.
It's like, Dallas Cowboys, what are you doing? And if
you're Michael Parsons, who has one of the best agents
in the game, an agent who's not gonna let him
risk injury because the Cowboys are being cheap. Now he
(33:17):
holds out, that's another distraction. You're already fighting up here.
I already believe you're gonna be fighting to not finish
last in that division. You're not being Eagles, You're not
beating the commanders for the division. You're probably not even
gonna be the Giants. Your best players are unhappy, and
you're doing it every year. You piss CD lamboff. Yeah, yeah,
you paid them, but it's gonna always be a little
(33:40):
bit of animosity because of what you made him go through.
Now you're doing the same thing with Michael Parsons, and
so it's like, what is a player supposed to do? Yeah,
we want to be about the team. Yeah, we want
to be about our teammates. But I got to be
about me also, and about me is getting my just Dude.
I've been one of, if not the best pass rusher,
(34:02):
one of, if not the best defensive player in the
league since I stepped foot into league, since I was drafted.
Give me my jess due. My jest do is, don't
tell me how you feel about me. Show me how
you feel about me when you offer me that contract.
We'll be right back man. Uh, that's mister Plexico Burris.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
I'm TJ.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Houshmanzada, and we gonna as y'all have realized this, this
first hour is always about football, and then we get
into basketball cuffs the legend of the NBA Finals. It's
Fox Sports Radio. This is up on Game. Well, we
will be right back, y'all, stay tuned in. Welcome back
in Up on Game. I'm TJ. Houshman's outa alongside mister
(34:48):
Plexico Burris. LeVar has some things to do, uh today.
So he is not with us now, somebody that is
may he may be with Feathers and he may not
be with us as uh. Joe Flacco Joe flo he
not a fan of the TikTok dances. Joe Flacco says
(35:11):
he's not on any social media and if he was,
TikTok would be the last one he's joining. He's doing
no dancing, none of that. Speaking of Flaco, who's gonna
be the Brown starting quarterback this year? Plex, I don't know, man.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
You you're the crazy person that came out and said
a few weeks ago that you believed Kenny Kenny Pickett
was going to be.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
To the man for the job. No, this is this
is no, this is what I said. This is what
I y'all got the sound. This is what I said.
I was told Kenny Pickett and Dylan Gabriel will be
given the opportunity to be the starters, like those are
the favorites to be the starters.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
That's what I said.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
But from what I'm you know, hearing the rumblings coming
out of Cleveland is that you know, you knowdor is
turning the head, he's playing really well, and they're not
even talking about Kenny Pickett. Is solely between Joe Flacco
and shr Door. Sander's moving forward from from what I'm
hearing and what I understand haven't heard a lot about
(36:15):
Dylan Gabriel, and obviously Deshaun Watson, nobody knows what they're
going to do with him in this contract moving forward.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
But if I'm the Cleveland.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
Browns, I think right now, at this point in time,
opening date, Joe Flacco obviously gives us the best opportunity
to win. If they don't get off to a good start,
they'll make some changes with whoever they see fit as
being a franchise court at moving forward. I don't even
believe that Kenny Pickett is in this whole scope of
(36:48):
the quarterbacks that they're going to keep on this roster.
I believe when it all comes down to it, it's
going to be Joe Flacco, shr Door Sanders, and Dylan
Gabriel in that quarterback room when the rosta is made
after training camp. That's what I really honest believe. And
Joe Flack was going to start the season, and at
some point in this season for the Cleveland brown should
(37:11):
Door saying as well be the starting quarterback of this
football team.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
You know, it's really really hard to give four quarterbacks
like I've never seen four quarterbacks on the team get
reps just in training camp and offseason. It's hard when
you have three quarterbacks. You have four quarterbacks. You can't
(37:36):
divide the reps up evenly because one guy may shine today, right,
who are going against guys that's gonna get released? So
he has a great practice, But that great practice is
against all the backups and not even the backups guys
that's getting released, they're not NFL players. Is that really
(37:57):
a great practice or is it who you're going against?
And if you're a coach, do you give him reps
with the ones if you don't really feel he has
a quote unquote shot of being a starter. And so
I don't know how the Browns are working through this.
And I because there's only so many snaps in the
(38:17):
practice PLEXI we notice the competitive snaps are seven on
sevn eighteen. When you go team run that that's nothing
you can give anybody those reps. It's seven on seven
and it's team. It's seven on seven. You may have
what twelve reps, team, you may have fifteen to eighteen maybe,
(38:41):
So that's a possibility of maximum thirty reps where they
can really shine. Thirty reps between four quarterbacks. I don't
know how they gonna figure this out. I don't know
who's going to be the starter. If I was a
Cleveland Browns, I'm going with one of the rookies. I'm
going with shador Or Dealing. Gabriel Flaco, as good as
(39:03):
he may be, he's not the future. Kenny Pickett. He
started a ton of games with the Steelers. He wasn't
the answer there. How can he be the answer here?
With all the Pittsburgh the stability they give you. So
I'm going with one of the rookies. I'm not going
with Flacco. I'm not going with Kenny Pickett. That's just me.
But they gotta figure out how are they gonna divide
the reps up so they can get the quarterback who
(39:25):
is going to be the starter?
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Ready to go?
Speaker 3 (39:28):
And y'all make sure y'all ready to go this second hour,
we got Cuffs the Legend joining us. We'll take a break,
but y'all make sure y'all stay locked in. That's Plexico Baris,
I'm TJ. Housch Mazzada. This is up on game Fox
Sports Radio. We will be right back. Cuffs the Legend
coming
