Speaker 3 (02:55):
Are you ready for this? Real quick?
Speaker 4 (02:57):
When I started and got my first, very first radio show,
WDFN in Detroit, the odd couple with Mike Stone. Johnny
Avella was our gambling guy. Can you believe that thirty
one years ago both been in the game.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
That's so crazy. Let's go back real quick. Stony is
have a full Detroit moment. You and Stony were first.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Then Stony and Wold Joe, Oh yeah, you had no
it would Stony and I were first.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
You realize, like I was like eleven, Okay, give me.
I'm just saying I don't remember.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
I don't remember everything when I was eleven, You know,
I don't know if I was like getting the mom
turn on WDNF at eleven.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
No, it's me and Stoney.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
You didn't see Alex and just see his face. He
looked at me like, how dare you don't know? I
was the first. I was the first person ever hired
at that station. You should know that, kid, un I
know now, I know it because the way he looked
at me, I thought I stepped on this. Travis Scot like, wow, okay,
great to swing on me. Don't forget one's gotta go.
We got that as well last call. So there's a
lot of stuff to do. Let me welcome in our partner.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
He is Kelvin Kelvin Washing Yeah, happy hump hump day.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Halfway through the week and uh yeah man, this is
flying by.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
We got the draft tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Like you mentioned, we've had some good NBA games as well,
So hopefu for a couple. We got three today, but
hopefully we can get a couple of least two of
them be compelling, be good as well. I'm gonna neither
Orlando Magic to do break some magic or something. And
I like them as far, Like I think is Mickey
Mouse playing the Night. That's the only way I think they.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Got a shot.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeah, they're gonna bring back like ninety four Shock or something. Yeah,
because that and it's making for a non compelling series.
But Jason Tatum supposedly out. He's out. Yeah, he's out.
So we've got a bad risk. Yeah, so therefore you
never know that might open this up a little bit.
Look at me in a commercial that Alexas went up top,
it's me. Is that you you're about to see it?
Look at me?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Well, what you mean where you just looked at at
that's me? That's you?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, that ain't you. I'm like looking at you, like
what Blair underwood. Oh tell me that could have been me.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Look at that that one right there, that shot. Okay, Yeah,
I'm just saying you all right, I was like, I'm
looking at you like that is not you don't look
at me on the off there. I need a haircut.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
I'm looking rough. It's been a long day, about eleven
minutes of sleep.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
All right, let's welcome in the odd couple crew, because
you wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
Alex is back in the saddle.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
He's on.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Engineer Boo is our producer. Rob G another week and
a week and a half.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
You sure he works here? I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
You know how I respect Rob G. I rob G
don't give a flying fig about what we might think.
He is at home with his babies and his wife.
Now granted, his hair is gonna be gray when we
see him because he can be stressed, but he is
doing his own thing.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Yeah, sure he's at home with the kids. Because I
went through the drive to a taco bell and I
got to be honest, I wasn't sure if he was
working on them. That's gotta be racist. Hey, extra money.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
For the kids, there you go, because if he was here,
he would be setting the table for our topic.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
There you go. The last two days gone.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
We didn't by the way, where you just because a
little bit. It was that the sun's out, buns. No
what are you what are you doing?
Speaker 4 (06:13):
Uh uh, it ain't what it's colin, Colin, No, no,
you can't that much.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Okay, you're just off good just six some time, very nice,
and I have to say I'm impressed by both you
guys for working so hard tomorrow, by the way, for
the draft show. Listen, we're just we're just men. You know,
we put our work in. We grind you know that
full fifty eight minutes.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
That's right, we'll make it happen. Uh.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
And then of course manty b A'll keep us updated
throughout the program.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
And of course.
Speaker 6 (06:43):
Never heard of them.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
You had you had it, you were right there.
Speaker 6 (06:46):
Never heard of them, never heard of it.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
And that makes sense. He was here yesterday. It wasn't
our social media guru.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
So uh uh, we got a good show for you,
So we want you to stick in.
Speaker 7 (06:58):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
Let's start with basketball, and of course the Warriors and
Rockets to me, most compelling game right tonight, because you know,
people expected something from the Houston team Rockets got one,
and I really believe like this is the Rockets game
right here, because if you go down two going back
to San Francisco, going to San Francisco, it's a rap,
(07:20):
like like you got to win four out of five
and three of those games are in San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
And Stephans you already put one in the bag. He's
gonna do something crazy, some wild game. It's one of
those things. But but interesting enough, you know.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Uh, people looked at Steph and Jimmy Butler and what
they did together combining in game one, so people are like, hey, uh,
maybe they have the best duo or one of the best.
Will do they rank as far as duos left in
the postseason? And I know a lot of people Luca Lebron,
but Lebron hasn't actually played that.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Well so far.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
I'm not saying that he won't play better, but he hasn't.
He hasn't had to turn it up but yet.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
But I still think for me, it's only been one
game with Jimmy Butler, yeah, and Steph Curry, So to me,
they've just had a cup of coffee in a sweet role.
I can't look at them as the best deal a
duo because I got to look at Jason Tatum and
Jalen Brown.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
I mean they've they are currently the reigning champs. That's
a very fair point. There's a couple other people who
might want to hop in the mix. Who's that another
not raining, but they've won, Jamal Murray and then Jokic
will say, y'all must it wasn't five years ago, it
was two years. Yeah, they might say, y'all must have forgot.
We got some other ones too. They haven't done anything.
(08:37):
But as far as talent, you know, Yannis and Dame
could have said, don't forget about us.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
We can forget about them.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah, well you know who else we can fit about
on paper? Six months ago? You might have got excited.
Kat and Brunton. You can figure a out. Kat Williams
what I call him right now? Till he played like
a bit, until he played like he's holler in. Kat Williams,
That's what I'm calling him. But so that was another one.
So you know, you think around if I'm missing anybody else?
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Trying to think, because jo who would you pick?
Speaker 4 (09:08):
I mean, should we should we take Tatum and Brown out?
Because I mean, how can we really look at it
the reason I think only but but then again, Tatum
is hurt.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Now, Tatum, I think he'll be fine. It's a little
risk he's banged up for him to.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Miss a game to the little something to me because
I heard he is yeah, because this is the first
part as ever missed.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yeah, but it also says it's the magic and we're loaded.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Okay, I'm just saying, you know what I mean. I
think they're looking at him. He would if this was Cleveland. Now,
if it was a birthday party, might not come, but
he would absolutely go. If this were Cleveland, he would go.
If this were you know, uh, maybe Milwaukee, maybe nothing,
but but yeah, he would go.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
This is Orlando. And they were like, all right, we can,
we can, we can. We'll be all right.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
And that leads to why I think for me, it's
not quite Jalen Brown and Tatum. I think what makes
them great, and they are great, They're a very good duo.
I think is the collective. You get what I'm saying,
it's the collective of the seasons. Those two.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
I'm sorry, I'm not buying into that. Those two. I
get the rest of the team and they have, but
those two are the engine.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
They're the ones that make it happen, and I think
they're the best dual. I think that's why they have
a legitimate chance of repeating, which we talk about all
the time how hard it is to repeat in most sports.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
But then yeah, for some the last you know, balls
hard football, it really is the last, like seven eight
championships have been that back in. You know, different team,
different differ, different team. For the thing that for me,
the reason why it's not Jalen and Tatum is just
what I said. Right now, we're watching this game and
I'm looking at Drew Holliday, I'm looking at Porzingis, I'm
(10:52):
looking at Derek White, I'm looking at Al Horford. That's
just who's on the court. I got Pritching on the
bench as well. I mean, they got so many guys
on this team that to me, it makes it a
little bit of a cheat code when you're this loaded
that you have so many other talented guys that you
don't necessarily need Jalen Brown or Tatum to be that great.
(11:15):
I mean, that is ridiculous how loaded they are the
wealth and they got a couple other guys who come
off the bench and score a nice shooter. So I
for me, I'm absolutely not mad if you picked the
Rainy Champs and Jalen and Tatum, but it's not for me.
So if we're going at it like this, I have
to say it's still a combination for me of Luca
and Lebron because I just look at it, and I'm
(11:38):
more so.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Than than people who one together.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
I just because they haven't had a chance to win together.
Ye to be fair, Yeah, but Luca had a shot
last year, didn't win with Kyrie. I'm just saying, and
Lebron other than the twenty twenty twenty.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
But I mean he had three other ones too. No,
but that was a long time ago.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
I had three other ones. It's been a long time,
can you admit that? Yeah, we take out that bubble one.
It's been it's been a.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Long Why I got why I gotta take out the
taking out the bubble one? What I'm taking out you
writer of the Year award. Oh when they gave you
the memorial Okay, matter of fact, you have a memorial
weekend last week or whatever it was when they went,
I'm taking it out, taking it out the pains since
we taken out championships The reason I say this is
more of a compliment to Luca. And again the key
(12:25):
word I always use is nuclear, and I just think
for me, that's the biggest thing. If it cames down,
it came down to it a game seven, if somehow,
if say it was Lakers Celtics in a game seven,
I just feel like Luca is so nuclear. And then
having still at this age of Lebron that that I
just it would be hard for me to bet against
(12:46):
Luca in a game seven as long as he's healthy,
because I just feel like he can literally go for
forty to fifty sixty, but he.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Also can give up forty on the other end. I
mean not like that. That's the other thing.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Music to put up fifty five, We'll be like, okay,
I'm just saying like that's the part there, because I
think a lot of people thought they were.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Gonna win last year, and they I.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Mean, if they if he's a little healthier, they're in
this thing. By the way, Mancy, I'm looking at Monci
right now. She just I'm reading her face. She didn't
say anything, but it's like that old R and B
song in the nineties. It's written all over your face.
She didn't have to say a word. She feels disrespected
that we didn't say Kawhi and James Harden no.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
And that and that is absolutely fair, especially since Kawhi yes,
and he's played outstanding.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
All right, we want to hear from you.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
Eight Luca and bronk it. I'm gonna say Jason Tatum
and I'm Tatum and Brown.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
You taking Tatum and Brown in a game seven over
Luca and Bron.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
I absolutely am eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
Well, the Lakers would have two statues out there. That's
the problem. Oh I told you, don't call him? Oh
Lakers is what I call them?
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 4 (13:56):

we're asking is the Warriors getting ready to play the
Warriors and Rockets tonight? That duo had a really good game.
Won Are they the best duo going right now? In
the NBA playoffs? Who we got eight seven, seven ninety
nine one?
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Fox, Let's go with Jeff in Phoenix. You're on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
What's up, Jeff, what's happening? It is Kawhi and you
pick him. This guy is a cyborg. He if you
think back to that run he had when he won
the championship, there's an interesting stat that goes around, like
I think in the last game, guys, he was guarding
were only two for twelve from the field. But that
(16:38):
excludes that excludes the players that when Kawhi come up
on them, they just passed the ball. Jimmy Butler in
that series when he was with Philadelphia, when Kawhi had
that great game winner, he got stripped by Kawhi in
the first quarter after and Kawhi went for a dunk.
(16:59):
After that, jim Me Butler, every time Kawhi came on him,
he ran to the corner. He called to play and said,
I'm not going at this guy. So it's Kawhi and Pickham.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
I hear you about Kawhi, and you know how much
I'm a Kawhi guy.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
Why not Kawhi not as a correct response? So I
don't even know where you are. He did.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
He did it yesterday, Alex. It was pretty funny.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
I'm a fun guy.
Speaker 8 (17:31):
Do you have the other part of it? Do you
have the other part where where he's talking he doesn't
know other things? You have to ask me. I can't
just give it all to you right now. Plus I
can't even see you. I don't even know where you're at.
It's the greatest thing ever.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Trey in Texas. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up?
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Try?
Speaker 6 (17:53):
What's up? Man? I mean, I like I like the Warriors,
but I like Kawhi Harden.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
Man the way, the way, the way Harden has played
this year has been tremendous.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Tree on Treyhill, don't make me come. Don't make me
drive to Texas Trade. It'll maybe come down and drive,
but don't make me come to come to you. Now,
I hear what you're saying. And again, Kawhi. You will
not get an argument out of me about Kawhi. But
you like that over Jokic and Jamal, or over Lebron
and Luca, or over Jalen and and Tatum or Stephan
(18:30):
and Jimmy.
Speaker 6 (18:32):
I like them over Jada and Tatum.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
That s GA and Jalen Williams. Yes, I tried it
with that one. Now I try to my bass.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Yeah, he's the m v P. I'll trying to some love,
but I'm trying to give him something.
Speaker 7 (18:44):
Well.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
That Zuo still has milk on that bro yea, literally
they might at this point. I don't even know if
they can drink alcohol yet.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
Drew in New Jersey, You're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (18:53):
What's up, Drew, it's Lebron and Luca. It's not closed.
Luca has played Kawhi in multiple playoff series. You have
thirty five points on shooting point.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
He's won a championship and who has it?
Speaker 7 (19:10):
Okay, so do you want to make that argument?
Speaker 3 (19:11):
I'm asking you no question.
Speaker 7 (19:15):
Question, is Anthony Edwards better than because Jokic lost Anthony
Edwards both on the crew with you?
Speaker 4 (19:21):
No that you can't just do it on one series.
The Joker has already won a championship.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Yeah, I mean to his point, Luca bet he's one
of the few people that can give quite a business.
You take that Manzi, Yeah, he can give them a bit.
Like we've seen the series at the series and that's
why would answer for me when we do this conversation.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
People keep saying that, but who's won no series?
Speaker 4 (19:41):
Well he did No Kawhi beat Kawhi and the Clippers
are beating of the Mavericks.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Everybody makes it like he's he knocked him. I mean
he's knocked he's knocked him out. They've knocked him. They're
gone back and forth.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
But the question, look it up and isn't it like
three times and twice the Clippers won.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
I think they genuinely don't think Luca's played Kawhi in
the playoffs, but he played him in the bubble. Maybe
what that was.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
That was the one come down He had that one
game winner and that was it Luca in In fairness,
Luca has averaged thirty one, seven and seven against Kawhi.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
But it's just across fourteen games. So you can't how
many more you need? Bo I mean a playoff series.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Listen, the answer is the answer like we did yesterday
and again you said Kawhi and I told you that's
to me the second best answer, But it is Luca
because the ability to go nuclear. No one else. If
I texted any of you, hey did you see what
he did today?
Speaker 3 (20:34):
You say who?
Speaker 1 (20:35):
And I said he had seventy And I said, you
would automatically, oh what Lukenan did? Like that, that's no
other part. That's crazy to me that he could drop
sixty or seventy. We would just be like, hey, he
does that, and that's that.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
One little actually dropped seventy. He already dropped seventy once.
How many time they gotta drop seventy? Makin that's all
like you make it like it's like he literally dropped
seventy seventy one. If somebody said he dropped seventy I
would ask cool? Would I wouldn't be who were? Okay,
you would ask who? But who would be? If I said,
you got a guess in the playoffs? Are not in
(21:06):
the playoffs?
Speaker 4 (21:08):
A third all time and scoring? It would be the joker.
If you told me right now, it would be he
had what do you have this year? Seventy and a sixty?
Speaker 1 (21:16):
You would think this is a compliment to him. He's
more of a I'm gonna give you thirty something every night.
I said, he's done a sixty and a seventy. Everybody's
done a sixty.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
And in the postseason when they won the championship, go
look at the numbers.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
You can just believing you just said it over to Mons.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
All right, let's go to Montsi because seventy three points
he scored that last year.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Yeah, you take them. I can't.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
Yeah, I mean, I mean, I mean, you're right, But
I would if you told me somebody scored sixty five today.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
My first my first reaction like Jo Jokic again, Then
I don't know what world, kid? What do you tell
he's right there after jok Is first. No, I'm not
saying that he did.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
What I'm saying is he's literally more consistent. I mean
to forty like that's his range, Luca dropping fifty like regularly.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
When when regularly? Jokich that one time.
Speaker 6 (22:10):
No yet, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I feel like we have a win win, am I living? Okay?
Go ahead, New York, go ahead. Please give us some training, Nazi,
I have work to do. Well. You have work to
do as well. Yeah, to Bo, give me you zi,
I'll talk to you off.
Speaker 9 (22:26):
Yeah, all right. So it's Game two between the Celtics
and the Magic. No Jason Tatum for Boston because of
that wrist injury. So Orlando is up right now, twenty
one to twenty. What about a minute ago in the
first quarter. For the Celtics, Jalen Brown is the leading scorer.
He's got twelve points right now. Franz Wagner on the.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
Core for Orlando's leading scorer, he's got six points very
early in the game. Still Game two between the Heat
and the Calves that tips off at seven thirty Eastern.
And then it's Game two between the Warriors and the
Rockets with tip off at nine thirty Eastern time. In
the NFL, sad news coming out of the NFL, but
Hall of Fame Chicago Bear defensive tackle Steve McMichael has
passed away today.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
He had a long battle with.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
Als, was actually moved into hospice today and passed away
hours later. He was sixty seven years old. Other news
in the NFL is that Kirby Joseph is about to
make a lot of money. He and the Lions have
a great to way four year, eighty six million dollar extension,
making him the highest paid safety in NFL history. And
the Saints did pick up fifth year option on the
(23:28):
contract of wide receiver Chris Olave. Today in Major League Baseball,
we got some games going on, like the Nationals who
are topping the Orioles three to one after four no
they're about to start the fourth inning in Washington, Mariners
holding on to their one zero lead over the Red Sox.
In Boston, it's the bottom of the third inning. The
Dodgers and the Cubs are scoreless bottom of the second. Also,
the Dodgers are shutting down pitcher Blake Snow after he
(23:49):
felt discomfort in his throwing shoulder during a game of catch.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Yesterday.
Speaker 5 (23:52):
He's been on il because of shoulder inflammation.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Imaging is not looking good.
Speaker 5 (23:57):
No further details on when he might beat back in
Earlier today, in baseball, the Mets score twice in the
tenth to sweep the Phillies four to three. New York
has won seven in our own back to you guys, all.
Speaker 1 (24:08):

All right, we are joined now by our man, TJ.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Housman's ada form NFL our receiver, host of Up on
Game on FSR Saturday's noon to two Eastern Standard time, TJ.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
What's up? Bro Shooh, what's up?
Speaker 6 (25:09):
Man? How y'all doing?
Speaker 3 (25:10):
Man?
Speaker 1 (25:10):
We're doing good? Man? Have you answer this for me?
Who is the best duo? I know you love hoops
to going right now in the NBA playoffs. I throwed
a few options you can put you can be the
last word on this convo. We had Stephan, Jimmy, Jayleen,
Jalen and Tatum, yes, uh, Luke and Lebron yes yes,
(25:31):
and Harden and uh, yok at your murray?
Speaker 6 (25:35):
All right, I'm gonna go from the back to the front.
Yok at your murray would probably be the last on
my list. Uh. After that, it's kind of probably Kawhi
and James Harden. Oh man, this is tough. I'm gonna
(25:56):
give it to uh Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown because
they're defended challenge.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
Thank you, thank you very much.
Speaker 6 (26:04):
But if you gay, if you said Luca and Lebron.
I couldn't argue that because they are probably Lebron has
been the best player for so long and Luca has
always been a top three player since he's come to
the league. And so I can get people saying Luca
and Lebron, but just out of respect for the Celtics
winning the championship, I would say those two All right.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
There you go, repect you know it's lush.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Let's go here.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
Shador Sanders, you know, he's all over the map. Could
be fifths, could be tenth, eleven, twenty, First, where.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Do you see him going? You work with quarterbacks all
the time.
Speaker 6 (26:45):
This is so rober. The thing about this is, you
know people are really gonna bring you down, or they
really bringing you down, or they bring you down so
you fall to them, or do they really feel this way?
This This is a heart evaluation because he's been a winner.
Everybody's been. He wanted Jackson State when they were terrible.
(27:05):
Colorado was a dumpster fire before he got there. And
look at him now. What people will say offensive catered
to him. Uh, they throw the ball so much, he
takes unnecessary sex. But he's still completing seventy four to
seventy five percent of his passes to me for him,
the team's picking at the top. They're picking at the
(27:25):
top four reason. They're picking at the top four reasons.
So if he's fortunate enough and I stay fortunate enough
to drop, you're gonna land with a team that has
some success, has some good players on her team. They're
just missing you. And so with me with Shander, you
just I don't know what's going on. I don't believe
the Giants are gonna draft them. They're just I don't
(27:47):
think there's no way Dabill and those guys draft him
knowing they asked, is on the line, well, we were
drafting him for the next coaching GM develop.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
I totally agree with you. That's why I said, you
you that's why they won't draft them. They need to
win this year and they don't have time to be
able to say, oh, well, we're in a rookie quarterback
and we need time.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
That's why they won't do it. But who's let me
ask you this?
Speaker 4 (28:12):
And I just want to follow up on the chadure
and you talk about what it was a dumpster fire
and all that, but what they did at Colorado to
retire his number before Cordell's no, no, no, no, whush
before Cordell's Stewart.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Really, seriously, I'll be I'll say this, I don't like
the what why why?
Speaker 6 (28:39):
Okay, why don' lebar Errington just get into College Football
Hall of Fame two years ago? Labar Arrington is one
of the greatest college football players in the history of
college football, right, this is my point, And so I'll
say this because the status quo has been to and
we're gonna wait till fifteen twenty thirty years when dust
(29:01):
these dudes.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
Like, why, that's what I told That's what I told Rod,
That's what I told him.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Tej. That's not That's not how it is, TJ. Cordell Stewart.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
There's no way Shador Sanders should be that this should
be in a Colorado Okay to Colorado. I'm just saying that, like,
that's just that's with that's disrespectful.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
I mean, come on, I agree with you. You you
got you got Dad Brown, who was a baller Reside
to line just got put in and his jersey retired
and he's no longer. So Colorado, along with plenty of
other universities, have had and still have a problem of
(29:43):
honoring the players. There's no reason to wait fifteen, twenty
thirty years, whatever it is, because by that time, you know,
pissed the player offf you don't even care about being honored.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
Yeah, crazy, all right?
Speaker 1 (29:57):
TJ who was out of our guests again for NFL
Roberts a host of up on game on FSR Saturday
is noon to two. All right, who's let me ask
you this one? And again we've talked about it to nausey.
And by the way, cam Ward is hilarious. He's the
number one pick and nobody ever talks about him. But
I'm gonna ask you about the idea of playing two
way with Travis Hunter. If you because you are a
wide receiver, what do you see that makes him unique
(30:19):
at the wide receiver position where a lot of teams
say that's where we would play him, either solely or primarily.
What makes him different? What have you seen on the
tape or what makes him where you go? Man, he
could definitely be that guy as a receiver.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
I mean, he pretty much can do everything. He's a
really good runner. He's quick, he can run. But to me,
what is different about him? Because a lot of guys
are quick a lot of guys can run. A lot
of guys can run routes. What he does really well
that not is his body control, his ability to jump
(30:54):
in his body like he's so loose in his hips,
he's so loose in his upper by that he can
turn while he's in the air and make a hard catch.
Looks so easy. But the next guy does that, he
can't do it because he's so muscular and he tight
up top. He has no thorastic mobility. He's little things
like that. It gets overlooked because when that ball isn't caught,
(31:18):
it's like, oh, that was a tough catch. Well with
Travis Hunter, it's not a tough catch for him because
of the way his body is able to adjust while
the ball is in the air. It's just something you
don't see very often.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
Yeah, CJ. Did you use when you played stick him?
Was it outlawed by the time you played?
Speaker 6 (31:38):
Yeah? Yeah, Hey, Rob, you know this though my first
few years in the league, man, I was Tim Brown
in it. Bro I had no gloves.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
Yes, no, that's what I'm saying. That's why I was
going to ask you about Hunter. We saw him with.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
No gloves, no sticky gloves. And I'll tell you when
I first saw what was it the Giants receiver when
he made that catch, and you know that, I was like,
that's the greatest catch I ever saw. I didn't know
about the gloves. I really didn't TJ. But when you
see a guy go out there, you know, with no gloves,
(32:12):
you know, and and catching ball, that's impressive to me?
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Is it not to you?
Speaker 6 (32:19):
On a pro day with routes on air, it's very
easy to catch with no gloves, no elements indoors. It's
very easy because I did it now, I'll say this,
but open it's when it's cold, the hands are freezing.
That's when you really need these gloves. You really do.
But the gloves nowadays many they getting better and better
(32:40):
each year. But I wouldn't put too much into the
pro day not wearing gloves because it is routes on
their We are going to focus on the ball. Were
gonna see the ball to the touch, then we're gonna
run very ready. Well, you see a guy with or
without gloves drop a ball and routes on their If
you drop a ball on routs on their, man one
is a lack of focus or you just not seeing
(33:00):
the ball very well at all.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
All right, there you have it. Man, Draft day about
twenty four hours away. We'll see where it all shakes out.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Hey, hush, real real quick. Where's should doing? Give me
a number? What place will he be drafted? Just give
me a.
Speaker 6 (33:13):
Number between sixteen and twenty one?
Speaker 3 (33:16):
Yeah, all right, drop it? All right, I thank you.
I think somebody's gonna sneak up there. I think he's right.
I think he's gonna be low thing.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
People been talking smack and then they gonna go snatch
him up. All right, thank you, appreciate it to you.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Jay. We got Shekel City on the way.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
And speaking of quarterbacks, there's one quarterback that is very
very happy right now.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
We'll tell you why. It's the couple Robin Kelvin Fox

Speaker 2 (34:31):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parkers
Daily Dix against the Sprat.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Alright, all right, here we go, do it last night.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
Don't tell me one and two again, one and two again.
I don't know what's going on, like four days in
a row or something great.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
One and two I know.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
And the total now is one O three and one
O nine. So I'm six in a hole. I need
a big now, you do need a big name.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
What you got you did?
Speaker 1 (35:02):
But I thought it's funny. I was thinking about myself.
I was like, I think Rob had this game.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
I have one, and that one was close, but they
didn't cover the fourteen and a half, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 3 (35:11):
That was the game that was close.
Speaker 4 (35:13):
They lost by sixteen or something and I had plus
fourteen and a half. But anyway, I got the Rockets.
Rockets taken on the Warriors in Houston. I got Miami
plus twelve and a half and I got the Celtics
minus ten and a half. And what's surprising is already
(35:33):
Celtics lee by eleven without Tatum.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
I mean like they're up now, that's my point. We
were talking earlier and they're loaded. Dude.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
They have so many dudes who can shoot past dribble.
That's why I picked That's one of my favorite winning game.
I just it's.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Just it's so many guys. It's hard to overcome that.
All right, So there it is.
Speaker 4 (35:49):
We got the Celtics minus ten and a half, he
plus twelve and a half and the Houston Rockets minus
three and a half. And remember Calvin that I'm not
telling you who the bet on. I'm telling you who
I bet on.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Give me the money.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Shot right, thank you back man, I think you'll be
all right. It's been like four or five days one
and two, get three. If I get a three, that's
a big that'd be a big one. And then another
day like that and you're right back at it. Definitely.
Speaking of right back at it, Rob, your absolute favorite
team in all of football, the Kansas City Chiefs chef chefs. Oh,
(36:24):
Chiefs Kansas City type chefs. They're feeling good right now.
We're clearly far away from from any type of real
meaningful conversations, but did see this story. One of the
things that they were kind of dealing with last year
offensively was that their receiving corps was out and so Rashier, Rice,
Rashid Rice, Xavier.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
Worthy, Hollywood Brown.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
That was gonna be their core obviously in Travis Kelsey
being in the mix as well last year, but then
injuries kept Rice and then Brown out for most of
the last season, leaving basically Worthy, who was a rookie,
so he was trying to get his you know, sea
legs into the NFL. You're finally getting ready to see them,
and Patrick said, everything looks great right now. Getting the
guys back and healthy, I think the offense has a
(37:07):
chance to be really, really good.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
The core group will be back in its entirety.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
So the goal is to try to build on it
and even get better and try to go back to
some of the explosive plays that we've done in past years.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
And that's the key part.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
Too, man, because you even though I was like, it's
still Patrick Mahomes and still any read it's still the Chiefs.
We all agreed, and if anybody kept it real about that,
it was us the odd couple that something ain't right.
And while Patrick Mahomes, I was even even I was admitting, like.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
I don't know how you could watch that and think
that they were good, you know, like like and that
was the issue even then he's talking about they were
fifteen and two, like you know, we're talking about that,
and that was where a lot of lucky things went.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Their way, but it was always a squeaker.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
They struggled and offensively and the only problem I hear
Patrick Mahomes and what he's talking about, what is the
offensive line fixed?
Speaker 1 (37:57):
Like like seriously, that's the one thing they've been great
doing over few, you know, handfull of years, is fitting
that quickly. No, that's one thing Andy Reid and general
manager they've been able to do it quickly, like make
some moves and reshape that offensive line because that offensive
line was getting manhandled in the Super Bowl. So they've
been able to do that in years past. We'll see
(38:18):
if they can do it again. But uh, but offensively
that's what they meet. My gosh, do they need because
I'm the dinkin dunks I'm thinking about that.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
Won the same quarterback, like like the quarterback that broke
into the league after his first year he played a
second year.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
We haven't seen that quarterback in a couple of years. No,
they got to figured out because the dinks and dunks
ain't it.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
And you know, again, you earn in life, you earn respect,
you earn kind of the trust until it's you know,
taking otherwise.
Speaker 6 (38:43):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
And Andy Reid and Patrick Mahons have shown that, you know,
they can figure it out, So maybe they will. But
have I know they feel good having their guys back.
And obviously still early. We're sitting here in April, so
we got long ways to go. But that receiving corps,
that speed, that a big playability is gonna be huge.
Speaker 4 (38:57):
What you got and coming up an hour numbernumber two,
there's a question we want to know in the NBA.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
What's that question? Where's the beef?
Speaker 4 (39:09):
There is beef in the NFL for the first in
the NBA for the first time.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Of the year, and I love it, right, I love
who me?
Speaker 4 (39:17):
Yeah, we got to talk about that because normally I
had been happy schmappy.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
We all played aau we all tonight.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
You watch here too, Let's swap jerseys on a regular
just no real reason game right.
Speaker 4 (39:29):
It was just ridiculous, Like how Buddy, Buddy and Chumby
m Chumley Wombley or whatever you with Chumby that they
all these guys are and now we getting a little
bite back, love it and pushback.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Even the game we're watching right now.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
By the way, it's close game Boston only up four
thirty seven thirty three.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
The reason why Jason Tatum out Al Horford spoke about
this when he got filed between two magic players. They
filed him really hard, and Al Horford usually doesn't say
too much, was like, yo, I think that was a
bit too much.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
So beef, where's a beef. We're gonna tell you where
it is.
