Speaker 1 (00:08):
Hell no, no, no, no, no, no, no no. Welcome
to the naughty but nice showm your homestop shooter. And
it is Monday morning, which means our dear friend Garrett
Vogel joins us. Hey, Garret, are you there?
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Hello, Bob, look at you. I can see you clearly.
You can see me clearly. It's a clear Monday, unless
you're in New York it's raining. But but you know what,
great to be with you.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Good to be with you. You're hinting that we share
the same eye doctor, So I did not know this.
I told you last week that I got the lasik
surgery doctor Jeffrey Della rousso I love him. He certain
texts me I'm got a texting relationship with my doctor.
I woke up the next morning there was a text
from him as if we've been on a date. It
was lovely. I fell in love.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Well you kind of did, I mean, you're kind of
very close to a few minutes on your first typically
you though very.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Close on the first day. Cheap, cheap, cheep, Well, thank
you don't because now I can see And then I
was sitting there in the waiting room, and who did
I see a picture of Garrett and Scary, who were
on Z one hundred. I screamed, I text you right away,
and I was like, I didn't know. It's a small world,
isn't it that we had the same eye doctor.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Well not even then. I was you being typical rob shooter,
go oh, I saw your picture in the bathroom, and
I was like, no, way, get a son. Then I
told I told him, I go, hey, is my picture
in the bathroom? They and they go no, no, you.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Know, I've gotta be honest. What happened is Scary, who
works for Z one hundred two, who's on Elvis's show
with Garrett, his pictures in the lobby. So I saw
Scary's picture in the lobby, and I was texting Scary
and Garrett at the same time. And this was before
I got my eyes fixed, and so I got a
little confused on who I was texting. So I meant
to send that. I meant to send it to Scary,
(01:58):
but I said it to you. But now you are
you know what, that will never happen again because now
I can read my phone for the first time in
ten years.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Well, I knew you couldn't see clearly because you said, oh,
I love your girlfriend, and I go, it's weird and
maybe he's getting the text mix up. But he also
can't see right now, I.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Couldn't see, but now I can see clearly. Hello, Lolo,
Let's jump into the show. What time is it? My friends?
It's tea time. Big story at the top of the show.
So Meghan Markel reportedly wants to attend the Democratic National Convention,
which I believe it stance today. However, her influence is
at rock bottom, says a source. So there's been a
lot of speculation that Megan would like to get into politics.
(02:38):
She has political ambitions. My reporting has backed this up.
I spoke to several of Meghan's friends and I said
she probably doesn't want to run for elective office. She
doesn't want to be the president, but political causes are
now her thing. She's going to really sort of double
down on this and find some charities, some organizations that
mean a lot to her. Women's health is certainly a
(02:59):
man massive factor for Megan, and also too, they care
a lot about children and bullying and cyber bullian and
so that's something too that is political in nature. Well,
now an insider is saying that she really wanted to
go to the convention in Chicago. However, they didn't really
(03:20):
want her. They didn't want her there, they said, quote
her selling power has pretty much reached rock bottom. So
if they wanted celebrities there, there are other names they
would want before they invited Meghan. Another story I read
too that I thought was so interesting is that often
celebrities turn people off when they talk about politics. We
(03:42):
don't really cover politics on this show, and so this
is a mega Markel story, not a political story. We're
not picking sides here, but it is interesting that a
lot of people don't want their celebrities and their politics
mixed together.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Well, and I'm pretty sure you know, like depending on
where you side, whatever the case may be, but you see,
you tend to see more celebrities lean towards the Democratic side.
And doing some reading as well, I saw that the
Democratic Party, especially this week, doesn't want to make it,
you know, a Hollywood spectacule, you know, to show that
(04:16):
you know, yes, we're not we're not just Hollywood. We're
about everybody and not just about George Clooney and stuff.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
So yeah, it's tricky, isn't it when you think about this,
not just politicians, but it can really turn you off sometimes,
like when they pick a celebrity to endorse a product,
it has to be the right fit or it just
is a waste of money. If I don't believe it's authentic,
that I just am not interested in it. It's interesting,
isn't it how far Harry and Meghan's influence has changed.
(04:46):
Three four years ago. I really thought they were the
new Brad and Angelina, or I thought they were the
Beyonce and jay Z. I thought, my godness, this is
a power, power couple, and now not so much.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
I think they were. If they stayed within the family
and the family didn't there wasn't you know, turmoil overseas
and they stayed in the castle, I think they would
still have that cachet, that power. But once they came
to the US and tried to infiltrate a normal lifestyle.
But I think that's where it went wrong for them. Unfortunately,
(05:19):
you know, like and I knew they had to get out.
But I think if they stayed in the UK, they
stayed with the family, I think they would still be
just as powerful, maybe even more powerful of where they
want to be right now. But unfortunately didn't happen.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Though way right, or maybe though they wouldn't be as happy,
and that's something that's really important. If you ask me
between power and happiness now, I hope So I don't
know my sense of it. My sources tell me that
the two of them are really really focused on the past,
that they're talking about past problems, and they've got this
feeling that it's us two versus the world, which certainly
(05:53):
brings you together, but it ultimately isn't a good way
to live your life. When I think of my own life,
when I've wanted to settle a score Garrett, when I've
wanted to get revenge, I've never really been that happy.
It's when you let it all go and move on.
I wish they found something to do next. If I
was their publicist, and I worked for a lot of celebrities,
(06:16):
I always said, so what's next, Like if you make
a bad movie, if a movie bombs, or if an
album bomb's not good, but what's next, what's the next step?
And I think that's a good way to look at life.
What do they do next? Like I did? Do? I
think her cooking Show's coming out in January February, so
maybe that politics Charity is something that I hope if
she's passionate about that, she gets involved in. I don't
(06:37):
think Harry really cares about that stuff. It's really difficult,
which brings us to our pole question of the day.
Meghan Markle reportedly wanted to attend the convention in Chicago,
but her influence has pretty much quote hit rock bottom.
What do you think would Megan be an asset if
she attended? Would she? Would she make you want to
vote a certain way? Yes or no? Hey, go vote
(07:00):
on our Twitter page at Naughty Nice Rob at a
Facebook page Naughty Gadship, and be sure to check back
tomorrow to hear your results. Hey, Garrett, what are you
working on? All?
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Right? Well? Rob, I know you're very well aware of
sports and football seasons about to start in a few weeks,
but they're in the middle of what they call preseason,
the practice games to get them used to the big
games that come up in just a few weeks. So
over the weekend, the Chicago Bears were at home playing
(07:31):
the Green Bay Packers. And if you remember simoone Biles,
who we just saw ago in Paris and bringing home
all the medals. She's married to Green Bay Packer Jonathan Owens. Okay,
but so Simone was spotted on the sidelines in Chicago
supporting her husband, who plays with the Green Bay Packers,
(07:52):
wearing a Green Bay Packers jacket. But everybody just jumped
on her because she's in Chookago. She should be wearing
a shook Hago Bears jacket, even though her husband's not
on the Chicago Bears. The fact that grown men are
crying about this is is a pravsty One fan of
Line even describes a move as ridiculously unaware of your surroundings,
(08:14):
insulting to her husband, referencing the long standing animosity between
the two teams.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Oh, I didn't get it at first. I didn't get it.
But a gay friend of mine. I was talking to
a friend of mine about this, and I was like,
explained this Tom and Bile story. Why is everyone's imagined? He said,
it would be like going to a Madonna concert and
wearing a Lady Gaga T shirt. I got it right away.
I got it right away. I think that it's also silly,
wear whatever you want, but there is something to this.
(08:43):
I would not go to see Michael Jackson and wear
a Prince T shirt. I would not go to see
Elton John and wear a Madonna T shirt? Like, what
do you think about that? Isn't that sort of asking
for a little bit of trouble?
Speaker 2 (08:55):
So let me let me, let me clarify. So her husband,
I get why, she's why everybody jumped on her. Now
her husband plays for the team in Chicago. Noway, so
simone was wearing his an old jack.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
It needs to update the merchandise.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
She needs to update. Here's where, Now, here's where I
will clarify some things. The girl literally was flipping around
in Paris for the last month. You're gonna jump on
her for over that?
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Please?
Speaker 2 (09:29):
At the end of the day, her allegiance and alliance
is with her husband, So yes, I understand your You're
upset and still grown men and grown men in Chicago
are crying over the fact that you know, a fan
is supporting her husband, but not wearing the proper jacket
doesn't make her not a fan. So I'm glad I
was able to clarify.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Thank you very much. She should just wear her medals
then she'll no one's gonna say anything.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
You really can't yell at her right metals.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
I'd wear them all the time. Maybe along the friends
Creed have revealed that they asked Matthew Perry if he
wanted to leave the show during his struggles. So, in
a candid interview about Matthew, the creators of the iconic show,
Marty and Dave Craane, opened up about a difficult period
when they became aware of the struggles. So let me
(10:17):
be clear here. The struggles were so extreme. Everybody knew.
Everybody in Hollywood, new people on that set. New. Even
in his memoir, he says, you can see when I
was really skinny on the show, I was doing pills.
When I was heavier on the show, I was doing alcohol.
And when I had a goatee, it was a lot
of pills. So even he said, there was visual markers
(10:38):
of his ongoing battles. Well, now, the pair that created
the show said they became aware of it and they
approached Matthew and they said, do you want to stop
being on the show, And he said no, this is
really important to me. So in his life that was
spinning out of control, this was the anchor. This was
the one thing that got him out of bed. This
was the one thing that they got him to work
(11:00):
each day. This is the one thing that he could
focus on that wasn't drug related.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
It's all so heartbreaking that and imagine the fact that
he left the show. What that would have done just
to the dynamic alone. You know, like I couldn't imagine
him not being on the show if he were to leave,
you know, and I understand if he needed to, But
at the end of the day, just so weird to
even think about and even hearing the stories now about
(11:25):
you know, those people being arrested for his murder, and
you know that it makes you question too, Like you've
been around tons of assistants, So if you know, an
assistant pretty much just like is there for whatever the
boss needs. So the boss was asking his assistant, Hey,
please give me this stuff. And this guy's gonna end
up in jail for literally just trying to keep his job,
(11:46):
and you know, it's it's weird.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
I expect to lots lots of assistance after this. I know,
lots of assistance for big stars. And I said, it's
really tricky because you were leaving this bubble where you
start to love the person you work with, you idolize
the person with you work with. Plus the person you
work for pays your rent. So it's a really weird
relationship because there's no hr, there's no training for this.
This is a weird, weird job where you're in someone's apartment,
(12:11):
their house. This assistant even lived with Matthew. There were
more like roommates than boss and employee. And also too,
you get into the mindset where you think you're helping them.
So Matthew's in pain and he needs these pills, he
needs that injection for peace. And what you do is
you convince yourself, oh gosh, I should help my friend.
(12:33):
He's in a terrible state. Let me get him some
more pills. And a lot of these drugs, too, are
prescription drugs, and so I think if you think a doctor,
if a doctor prescribes them, then they've got to be okay.
If you go to the pharmacist cvs to pick them up,
they've got to be okay. Well, as we learn from
Prince and Michael Jackson, these prescription drugs are just as
(12:55):
dangerous as the illegal ones, oh of course.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
And just like in anything from whether it be drugs
down to food, everything in in in the proper dosage,
you know, like I'm sure they weren't taking the the
legal amount and and you know in the in the
quantity that you're supposed to take it, you know. So
it's it's it's interesting that the whole nother lifestyle that
I don't think any of us will really understand.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Yeah, yeah, awful, awful, awful. Just so you know to everybody,
I've been taking my eye drops very carefully. I've been
following the drop by drop garage, you know, once a
couple of days ago, shots to it for a week.
So on day two, I was still getting used to
putting my drops in right, and I put two drops
in one eye instead of one. Oh. I thought my
whole eye was going to explode.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
I was like, you, did you fall asleep with those
sexy goggles?
Speaker 1 (13:44):
I did fall asleep with the godle Godle. I feel
like Tom Cruise in Mister Impossible. Bruce giggles every time. Yeah,
I look ridiculous. I look ridiculous. Okay, quickly, before we
get a break. This is this is a story that
shows there is a silver lining, and I'm all for
stories like this. So Taylor Swift is sharing how she
copes with bad days, sad days following the foiled terror plot.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah, so of course we already know what happened a
few weeks ago. She just kicked off the Ears tour
just a few days ago in London, and this is
how what she said, Not only was I recording a
video in my head of that, but I guarantee my
parents were just recording that on their phones, as she
(14:30):
said with a smile. Reflecting on the overwhelming whelming support
she has received over the last few weeks, she went
on to explain how this moment of appreciation would help
her during.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
The tough times.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Anytime I'm having a said or bad day, not only
will I play the video in my head, but I'm
going to revisit the moment and thankful for the moment
that she walked down on stage and saw. You know,
just the love that you recD at the end of
the day, Like say what you want about Taylor Swift,
her fans pretty much are everything everything you know. To
(15:03):
turn around and see them staying there in the face
of knowing what could have happened a week ago and
showing up and packing out a show a week later,
it's pretty pretty amazing just to see the passion that
the Swifties have.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
It's amazing. But you can do this in your own life.
You don't have to be tailor swift to this. Put
down your cell phone, stop recording it on your phone,
and just record it in your brain. I love this trick.
Do you record happy moments in your brain? And I do,
And they're in my library in my head, and I
can play them back when I'm a little sad. I
think of some really fun times chasing Derby around the
doggy park with a ball. And if I have a
(15:38):
sad moment, I put that little CDM to my mind
and I start to play it. I think of lovely
moments I've had with friends, and Bruce, start videoing lovely
moments in your head, not on your phone, in your head.
If you want to pick up your phone at a
concert and record your favorite artist, don't record it in
your mind. And I promise you that video will be
(16:00):
even better when you want to next.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Watch it, and you're more likely to watch it in
your head again than you are in your Yeah, they.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Sit on my phone in my library, and I never
watched them, but in my head I can play them
whenever I want. Hey, we're going to take a quick
break and we will be right back. Welcome back, and
be not to a nice show, your host, you wouldn't
shoot him with a different Garrett Virgel, Hey, Garrett, let's
get to the polls DA DA. Last year we talked
about Matthew Perry's assistant admitting that he administered the fatal
(16:31):
kedder Mean dose that killed Matthew. My question was quite simple,
should the assistant? Should he go to jail? Ninety five
percent said yes, this is a terrible, terrible crime. Don't
forget to vote on today's pole. Go to our Twitter
page that not your Nice Rob, or our Facebook page
which is Nobody Gossip, and be sure to check back
(16:54):
tomorrow or to hear your results. And now it's time
for our noses of the day.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
And this is what we call a good friend. So
Gina Rodriguez, you remember her from Jane the Virgin. She
calls Justin Baldoni one of her closest friends amid all
this crazy Blake Lively drama, saying that we talk all
the time. Justin is super busy, but Justin is also
one of my closest friends, and we talk all the time.
She mentioned she would love to make it, she would
(17:24):
love for Justin to make a cameo on her game
show Lucky thirteen that she co hosts with Sequille O'Neill.
You know, and of course Justin played Raphael across Gina
from on Jane the Virgin. Of course, even even to
the fact that in real life, Justin officiated her wedding
to actor and to her husband Joe, even showing how
(17:48):
close this friendship, you know. I think at tough times
it shows who your true friends are. When some speak
up and protect you and others, you know, stay quiet.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Sometimes it is spiraling, isn't it. This Blake Lively just
In drama Behind the scenes. Initially it looked like Justin
was the bad guy, and now stories are coming forward
that maybe Blake wasn't so easy to work with. I
think they're both going to hurt each other here. I
wish that both of them could could just stop, because
I don't think. I don't think anyone's in listened to here,
and then you never are are they. I admit it
(18:18):
when I fall out with people, I'm responsible as well
as they are, and this is not a good look
for either. But it is nice to stand up for
your friends. I do that when my friends get themselves
in trouble, I do stand up and even when they
when they're accused of doing something that they don't believe
they did. I stand up for my friends. I'm glad
that she did this. I naughty is the day, naughty, naughty, naughty?
(18:41):
I noticed the day is disgraced. Prince Andrew who refuses
to move out of the Royal Lodge. So now can Charles,
who owns this, is saying, get out, and he's fired
the security team. So when the Queen demoted Andrew, the
Queen did that, not Charles. Then his three million dollar
security budget went away. You only get that security if
(19:01):
you are a working royal. And so Charles has been
paying basically his security bill, which is about five million,
also to the Royal Lodge. He lives there, but he
has to pay the maintenance cost, which is about half
a million a year. He's not been paying that, so
he's behind on that. Now it's time to get out.
(19:21):
They're not going to kick him out on the street
and he's gonna end up somewhere. Great, leave that lodge. Okay,
let's end with a moment of rob you rob, you'renna
rob you a roub Hey, stop focusing on making it
and start focusing on doing it. When I visualize stuff,
I don't visualize me winning. I don't visualize people cheering.
I don't visualize making it. What I visualize is doing it.
(19:46):
Would I love to write a novel? Would I love
to be on book tour? I read a self help
book and I loved it. But my next book is
going to be a novel. I'm gonna write a novel
next and so would I love to be getting awards,
earning a money doing book to a Yes, but that
isn't what I focus on. What I visualize is doing it,
sitting in my living room two hours a day, doing
(20:08):
the work. If you focus on doing it rather than
making it, it's more likely to happen. Hey, that is
it for today. Thank you so much for listening to

Rom
