Speaker 1 (00:09):
Advice Shooter.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
It's welcome to the notty Ben nice Sham, your host
rump Shooter. It is Monday, which means our dear friend,
Garrett Vogel joins us, Hey, Garrett, are you there?

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hello, Bob, I'm doing well fresh off the oscars. I
liked it this year.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
How about you?

Speaker 2 (00:30):
I really liked it too. Let's jump into it. I
thought there's some really great moments. Conan O'Brien, first of all,
great host, funny, not too political, kind of serious, but
but also charming at the same time. I thought his
tone was just right. What did you think?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Yeah, he had the right tone to it too. And
it's funny. It's like, what what took so long? You know,
what had happened? You know? And and for him to
to you know, kind of just poke, you know, kind
of a little a little bit like you you know,
a little bit naughty, a little bit nice and uh
and and he was the right tone for last night.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I think absolutely. It was difficult too, with the fires,
with everything going on in the world, it's easy to
get so political, to get so angry. I thought he
was just fantastic. He made me smile from the moment
he stepped foot on stage. Also two, I thought it
was terrific to open with Wicked. Now, if you have
not seen it yet, a lot of people assumed it

(01:22):
was just going to be songs from Wicked, but I
think it was really lovely how they tipped their hat
to the source material, the Wizard of Ours, the Wiz,
and then Wicked. We have three amazing musicals based on
oz Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
I mean it was the my only gripe with having
the cast of Oz there. Yes, the cast of Wicked.
Yes they did win a few awards correct for costume
and design, but you put Cynthia Rivo Ariana Grandi in
the front row, the first first row, and same thing
with Timothy Shallowy too, because you know they're going to

(01:58):
be the biggest draw of them, and you do not
give any of them, any three of them an award.
Last night is just what to me, a little bit
of a like a political sleazy game of like, oh,
they're there, they could win, They're in the front row.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Nothing nothing, nothing. I think you make a point that
when we talk about somebody in the front row who
didn't win, who thought she was going to, I think
we have to talk about Demi Moore. So going into
last night, everybody at my oscar party, everybody that was
in my little oscar pool had Demi as the shore winner.
The New York Times had Demi. All the press, variety,
the Hollywood Reporter, all the trades. Everybody had told Demi

(02:38):
she was going to win. I think she thought she
was going to win, Garrett, what a surprise. Now, if
you don't know who did win, her name is Mickey Madison.
Brilliant young actress in Anora, which really won the most
awards of the entire evening, So she was deserving. She's
a brilliant young actress. I was dazzled by her performance.
But sentimentally, I think I wanted Demi to win.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
I think we did too. But it isn't that the
Oscars in general, though, where we want somebody to win
and it's never the case. Has there ever really been
a time where it's like a unanimous like, yes, finally,
it's always that person that you never expect, right, you know?
And I guess that's the beautiful yet crazy thing about
the Oscars, you know that we kind of it's almost

(03:24):
like we want them to change, but they'll never change
an eye, you know will never change. We want each
other to change.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
That's the truth. I think it's complicated here because a
friend of mine, a movie friend of mine who I
spoke to last night, who was at my party actually
we watched it together. He said, you have to remember
is that it is about thank you? Yes, it's about excellence,
not emotion So emotionally, Demi Moore, she had this amazing
story in her sixties, has never been nominated for anything.

(03:51):
In A friend of mine who's quite brutal, but you're
not gonna like this, but there's some truth to it.
So she's not being nominated because she's just not a
very good actress. She's good, but she's not a great actress.
And I was like wow, And he's like, Mikey Madison
is a really really Meyerl's type talent. So I think
as an audience member, we get caught up in the

(04:13):
emotion of this and who we love. And we've watched
Demi for gosh, fifty sixty years, fifty years at least
on screen on TV. We love Demi Moore, my goodness,
she was in Ghost. However, that doesn't make her the
best at her craft. We have this with musicians too, Garrett.
Don't we People that I love, who I listen to
their pop music all the time, are never gonna win

(04:34):
a Grammy. It's just not who they are. And I
think you can distinguish them. We can still love Demi,
but we can also admit too, Maybe if we really
think about it, if we put the emotions to one side,
maybe not Oscar winning worthy this year nominated. Yes, but
I felt bad for her. We do know. We had
a lip reader, or at least the New York posted.

(04:56):
When Demi lost, she turned to her manager, who was
next to her, and said nice. And I see that's
all she said. Nice. She did manage to recover them
and started quickly clapping. Although, would you go to the
after parties if you were Demi? Would you go home?
Would you go out afterwards? What do you do?

Speaker 1 (05:15):
You can't? I think you just go home at that point,
you know, And it's unless it was our first time
in Hollywood. She's been to the parties, she's seen the parties,
and all you need is everyone going, oh, I'm so
sorry you that's what's gonna happen. I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah, yeah, I saw or at least a friend of
mine in the room. I had reporters in the room
last night. They said Meg Ryan was the first person
to comfort Demi. Meg went over and hugged her and
they had a little moment together. It's tricky, isn't it.
You know they say just being nominated is enough, and
normally I do think that is the case. But when

(05:51):
everybody tells you you are going to win, everybody yeah,
and you don't. Gosh, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
What about Kieran Colky Funny's warning actor. He gets up
on stage calls his wife out for now they're to
have a fourth child. I mean, do you think they
went home last night and like, all right, let's get
right there.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I had a little kiss. I wouldn't be at all surprised.
I find him just charming. He just makes me giggle.
I could do without the F bombs. I don't like swearing.
You know that on the show, but I just find
him just so naughty.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
I really ever hear you curse? I try not to
podcast never. I don't like you and I just chatting.
I don't think I've ever heard you curse.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I don't like it, so that's just myself. But I
think he's just charming. We have to point out too,
before we move on the fire fighters reading jokes. I
think Conan came up with this bit and it was
so funny and so naughty and so delightful. It really
they were great too. It's hard, Garrett, you have a

(06:53):
lot of friends who are comedians. It's hard to deliver
a joke to just have and they.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Delivered their tembo. They're timing, I mean they had they
could have bombed tremendously and they was still would have
had a standing ovation. That was one of those things
where it's like you could not do no wrong if
you were a firefighter in that room last night. I mean,
and plus probably most of those firefighters there tried to

(07:21):
salvage or save any type of homes of those people
in the room. You know, that's the weird part too.
It's like coming full circle of now you know you're
trying to save people, and now you're being honored on
their night. And you know, at first I thought, you know,
the oscars were a little bit tone deaf when they
first announced that they were going forward with the oscars,
But I think with time given it wasn't that much

(07:44):
far of a time away from the wildfires. I think
it was done in a proper way where it didn't
feel like it was too like, you know, Hollywood stuffy,
you know, up to the up, you know. I think
it was the perfect tone. And I think, yeah, you
had anybody else, maybe Jimmy Kimmel would have been able
to do it since he is in LA but I

(08:04):
don't think anybody else, you know, the same way.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yeah, it did a great job, and he really set
it up, he explained, he was really honest about it.
Why we do these award shows, and they're not just
for the rich, gorgeous, beautiful actors. There are thousands, hundreds
of thousands of people behind the scenes, cater as, costume designers,
lighting directors, who earn their living. They're not rich people.
They're middle class people who work really hard and love
the art of film and this is their craft. And

(08:28):
so I think Conan did a great job about that.
The only person whose tone I thought was a little
off was Adrian Brody. He for the second time and
really was sort of like grand in taking his moment. Now,
everybody knows that they get it's very short, just forty
five seconds, but you know that, and the award circuit
is a circuit he's been doing this for months. He's

(08:50):
been going to different award shows making speeches. He knew
he was going to win. Prepare your speech and be
respectful because if you if you go along, let's just
put it like this, people are like, take your moment,
take your time, it's your moment. No, you're going to
take minutes away from somebody else. It's selfish. I thought
it was really really self indulgence.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Well, especially how he just you know, please stop, please stop,
and they actually stopped stop. So I guess you need
Adrian Brody to get the orchestra to stop at all
award shows because they never stopped. They never stopped, you know,
they continue. And the fact that he goes, I won't
be egregious, and then he went on, you weregious, you were,
and went on for another four to five minutes.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
They had to play him off again. That's the only
time an orchestras played someone I think off twice. A've
been a little disappointed, a little disappointed in you having
your moments. I know you deserve it, but it's more
than a moment. And he did say I won't be
a griecious and then he was people do that all
the time. Don't know when they're like, I'm not gonna
be racist, and then they say something called fault or
I'm not gonna be homophobic, but I don't like to

(09:51):
go something but here, I'm not going to be egregious.
That's our new phrase here on the show. Okay, let's
jump into as show. What time is it? My friends?
It is tea times. I know it's a lot of gossip.
Big story. At the top of the show, Meghan Markle
has shared a new video of Princess Lilibet. This time
she's playing with her auntie Serena Williams. All beautiful. However, however,

(10:12):
Meghan did capture it, reminding everybody that in just three
days her TV show starts. Some people are saying, Meghan,
you have screamed privacy, privacy for a really long time,
and now just three days before you lead us to
watch your TV show, now you're suddenly using your daughter,

(10:33):
promoting your daughter to get viewers. I can see the
backlash year, I can see why this is probably not
a good move.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
What do you think, Oh yeah, well, without a doubt,
But you know what, I also think that Meghan Markle
can sneeze and everyone will find a problem with the sneeze,
you know, like she cannot win no matter but even
if she is wrong, she still can't. Like she makes
it worse, even worse for herself. You know, every time
she tries to do anything, I would just stay inside.

(11:01):
If I was just staying inside wherever you are, and
you know, skype and FaceTime with people and just you know,
do some instacarting to get some food.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
I don't know, Megan, she can't all though I do
think she doesn't help herself. Like many things that Meghan
does really great things. She can do charity work, and
she's gonna have people who don't like her. However, even
people that like her, like myself, even people that are
fans of hers, and I know lots of people really
do like it. They're like, oh, Megan, the timing gear

(11:33):
of we've just seen your daughter and you've been so
private about Lilliburton, now with her auntie Serena Williams, you
bring it out the big guns and then having the
hoodspur to actually put in the caption three days until
the party begins. I don't know. Which brings us to
our pole question of the day. Meghan Markle has dropped
a rare video of Princess Lilibert just three days before

(11:54):
her TV show debuts. Do you think she's using the
baby to get us to watch, or at least to
get us to talk about it? I think we all
know the answer. I know, I don't want to admit it,
but I think we know.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Okay, if this poll isn't one hundred percent, I don't
know what is.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Go vote on our Twitter page. Acknilty, guys, Well about
facebook page is naughty gossip and be sure to check
back to your results. Take caret Love, What are you
working on that?

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Well, let's talk a little. Wendy Williams, So, her ex
producer just is talking about her guardianship and how terrifying
it is, which I think we kind of all knew,
but when you hear it from someone who is close
to Wendy, it kind of opened your eyes a little bit.
More So. Susan Bass is talking, and she she's been
silent pretty much this whole time that Wendy's been going

(12:37):
through stuff, but she says that Wendy reached out to
Bass last week in a shocking phone call. And you know,
it's like, just like any friend that you're or a
person you are very close with, and you know that
they're going through something, you talk and tears will will
flow no matter what, just from from not hearing from
them and getting to talk to them for the first

(12:57):
time on top of whatever Wendy has been going through.
And Susan said that, you guys have been asking me
if I've heard from Wendy, and the truth is I
hadn't until last week, which she posted on her Instagram
video and she goes my phone, rang, it was Wendy.
I cried, she cried. It was fantastic. But beneath all

(13:18):
of this, the reality is Wendy's guardianship is nothing short
of a nightmare. It's a horrible guardianship. It's horrible. It's terrifying. Man.
Of course, she ended it off with the hashtag free
Wendy all the way, all day. And you know, I
think more people who can sound the alarm on Wendy's behalf,

(13:40):
the more eyes will be on it. I think there
are a lot of eyes on it. But you know,
let's have let's help Wendy out if we can.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Yeah. Absolutely, Goad known Susan for like twenty years. She
used to work on The Rosio Donald Show, and then
she worked on the The Wendy Show for a decade.
She's the one that booked me on the show. I
was on the show twice a month, or maybe four
times once so week, and it was Susanne who always
booked me. She was Wendy's right hand. Now, the reason
you might remember her name is she was on camera.
Wendy would always throw to Suzanne and ask her questions,

(14:08):
and she was she was almost like the what Kelly
and Michael had with Gelman. That's what Susanne was. And
she was a really good friend to Wendy because she
didn't want Wendy's money, she didn't want to go out
drinking with hers, she didn't want Wendy's name. She has
two children, she doesn't live in the city. She lives
in the suburbs with her husband, Brendan. And I was told,
I know this is a fact that Wendy often on

(14:30):
weekends had nothing to do, had no friends, and she'd
go out to Susanne's house and sit in her house
with Susanne's kids and play with Susanne's dog and play
with her children, and so of all the people around
Wendy and there's some good ones and some bad ones.
Suzanne is the best. There's no one better. Shamefully to
the Sherry Shepherd Show fired Susanne.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
I know, I think we all know. They missed out.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
They missed out. Susanne, you are a class act. We
texted last night and she said, Wendy sounds great and
it was lovely, lovely to hear from her. Okay, quickly,
before we get a break. This story made me scream.
Mark Zuckerberg, who's not known as the most outrageous guy,
celebrated his wife Priscilla's fortieth birthday in a sequined jumpsuit.
So if you saw the Grammys, you saw Benson Boone,
or even if you didn't see the Grammars, you probably

(15:14):
saw a meme a photograph of Benson Boom in this
really really tight sequin jumpsuit. Well, Mark Zuckerberg use the
same suit. I'm not sure if it's exactly the same
one or maybe specially made.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
It probably was. Those were rich people do that.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
It looks really good.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
It's exact same suit.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
It looked good. It looked really good. And he came
out on stage for his wife's fortieth and he was
wearing a black tuxedo and just like Benson Boom two
assistants and ripped off his clothing to reveal this wonsie,
this blue onsie underneath. The crowd erupted and he said,
your wife only turns forty once out a character delicious

(15:51):
made me smile and nightmares. It gave me night I
thought he looked kind of cute.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
It gave me nightmares, and it also made me think
like he's rounded by a bunch of yes people.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
The man's a billion I would have said yes, Garrett
at my birthday party. That's what I want you in.
That's what I want. A reveal, a reveal. Okay, we're
going to take a quick break, then we will be
right back. Welcome back to the Naughty but Nice. I'm
the host drum shooting with your dear friend, Garrett Vogel. Hey, Garrett,
let's get to the polls that are Last year we
talked about Gene Hackman's death. Now I've been called suspicious

(16:24):
by the authorities. Do you think foul play was involved?
Let's have a look. Sixty percent said yes, And I
know where you're going with this. There's something off about it,
Isn't there a dark his wife. A ninety five year
old man passing away. That's not surprising, but his wife
to die in the sixties, the doctor be dead. There's
much more to this story.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Yep, No, there definitely is. And you know what's interesting
the internet sleuths in the in the medical world start
you know, digging and diving into it. You know, Gene
Hackman had I guess some type of heart conditions. Yeah,
we want to pay make Yeah, he had a pacemaker,
so you know, depend depending on at least what we've

(17:04):
heard and what I've read across the internet is that
possibly there was an issue with the pacemaker and uh,
you know, his wife, you know, frantically went into the
kitchen to grab something to to help him, and she
slipped and and that's why the medications all over the place.
And then you know, the dog going a few days,
you know, without any type of food, and you know

(17:25):
that caused that, and the other dogs were able to
you know, get out the doggy door and you know, survive.
You know, so many working theories. I don't you know,
I think it'll still be a little while before we
find out.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
But three or four weeks, okay, don't forget to vote
on today's ball to the page naughty nice Facebook page
is thought, He goes hip, it's sure to check back
to Mara here your result said, Nah, it's time for
our noisiest.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Of the well. Thank you for giving me the nicest
because I've dealt with a week of naughties yelling at
me for for your story that you're going to be
doing next. So let's talk about Will Reeve. And he
talked about the heartfelt tribute to his late father, Christopher
Reeve at his wedding. So Will Reeve, you might see
him on Good Morning America, constantly looks exactly like his dad.

(18:09):
He's getting ready to say I Do to fiance Amanda Dubbin,
and he's making sure that at the wedding that there
is a great I'm sure a heartfelt tribute to his dad,
Christopher Reeve on his special day of course. And he
says that he's honoring superman, of course, because that's who
Christopher Reeve was. In case you didn't know, in a

(18:29):
in a way that his father's cufflings, he's gonna wear
his father's cufflings as he walks down the aisle. You
know he's still planning to him sure there might be
a little there's gotta be a little s you know,
underneath that that wedding suit. You gotta think and and
it just, you know, for for such a family that
went through such a a very troublesome time with their

(18:52):
their their husband and dad, to see the positive that
is coming out with it from everything that the Christopher
Reeve Foundation does, to the positive stories that that they're
now getting to tell of their dad. And I'm sure
they're The wedding is going to be no different and
probably probably the most emotional story we'll we'll see.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Of the day, Yeah yeah, yeah, and nicest of the day,
and notice the day naughty. A judge of slaped down
Blake Lively in this ongoing lawsuit with Justin Baldoni. So
Blake wanted to get two years two years of all
Justin's phone calls, including calls with doctors, psychologists, personal assistance.
A judges said, no, that is too broad, it is

(19:32):
too intrusive. So I think Blake is going to refile
this and make the search a little bit more narrow.
But I'm told if she gets his phones, he's gonna
get hers. This is a mess for both of you
at this point, I'm not sure there will be a winner.
In fact, I'm pretty sure there's going to be two
losers depending. It doesn't even matter what our views of

(19:55):
this is. That said me, with a moment of rub
You're rub up. Stop waiting and start now. The truth
about readiness. One of the biggest roadblocks to success is
the idea that you have to be ready before you begin.
But here's the truth. You're never going to be completely ready.
Whether it's launching your business and a digital project product
or starting a big life change, you're never going to

(20:16):
be ready. Think about it like having a baby. You
can read every book, take every class, prepare as much
as possible, but nothing actually truly prepares you, Garrett, you know,
for the reality of holding a tiny little baby. So
figure this out as you go, and that's how you
will get success. I promise you stop waiting and start now. Hey,

(20:37):
that is it for today. Thank you so much for listening.
