Speaker 1 (00:00):
Guess what we gave the in terms of podcast?
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Wait we did? What?
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Whose idea was this?
Speaker 1 (00:06):
The d clan?
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Hi, I'm Dylan, I'm Ben, I'm Stephanie, I'm Leilanie.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
And where the clan? Back at it again? Feels so good? Yeah,
there was no break in posting, but there was a
break in recording.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Oh yeah, it's been like too.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
We've all been on spring break. Not all of our
breaks lined up. So we're back on it today. And
I couldn't be happier.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
I guess I missed everyone here. Everyone was gone.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Guys, all right, how was everyone's spring break? Anything? Crazy?
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Well? I just worked here the entire week, So I
was here Monday through Friday and wait, that's actually yeah,
it was fun. I had one day though I was
only here for three hours. I was like, I don't
think I really needed to be in Wait.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
So you came in five days in a row.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yeah, Oh, I had nothing else to do, so it
was just come in, make a little extra money, got
to do the Jonas Khan or Joja's brothers look like
event I should say, Oh that happened?
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah? The Empire State Building?
Speaker 1 (01:05):
What it was? The Empire State Building?
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yes, did they get a permit for that.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
I don't know had budget like that.
Speaker 4 (01:12):
Yeah, right, Oh did they host it?
Speaker 3 (01:14):
They showed up at the end as a surprise.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
It's like the Timothy Show May one.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Yeah. But I'll say, like, honestly, I did not realize
Juj's brothers were still so big enough to have a
whole con event.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah, and they brought out a big time rush.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Yes, and that's what I'm talking about. How do you
guys know each other?
Speaker 2 (01:32):
And then now all American rejects are opening for them
for their whole tour?
Speaker 4 (01:35):
Really?
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yes, and if you tuned into this past winning weekend
you could have gotten tickets.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
So true.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Through the free I heard that. Well that's fun, Leilani.
What did you do?
Speaker 5 (01:47):
I went to New Orleans, which, yeah, I had a
lot of fun. We stayed in the French Quarter. I
ate so good and I was drunk the whole time.
It was awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Sounds good.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Oh well, I also went to is Con.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
That was amazing.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
That was actually at the tail end of my break,
So it started off. I went to West Palm Beach
with my friend Mia after I came back early to work,
and I actually saw you one of those days to
see Andrew Barth Feldman and what no one told me
my Evan Hansen damn. And then yeah, then Jonas Cone.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
So that was it.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
You did jump scare me on that Friday because I
was like, oh, I know, no one's going to be here,
and then you just showed up like, oh, I'm not
alone anymore. This is great.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Oh I also went to Disney but oh fun wow,
jam packed. Yeah, I love it about you, Ben.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
I was in Puerto Rico with my friends for the
beginning part of the week and then at the end
of the week it was my best friend's birthday and
we did bottomless brunch and we were just like out
all day. It was fab Can we.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Talk about how everyone was in Puerto Rico or the
Dominican Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
I had I know friend group that was in Puerto
Rico and they met up with a second friend group
in Puerto Rico.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
There was like a lot of spring breakers around YAG.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
There was like five six people for my school bed.
I all knew it was going to Puerto Rico. I
was just like everyone just kept going down there.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
It was a very popular spot.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
This is what happened.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Well, this is my second year doing Porto Rico for
spring break and the reason that my group of friends
picked it again is because it's convenient, Like the flight
is not very long and you don't necessarily need like
a passport, right and yeah, it's just like easy to
get to and it's not super expensive. So I think
(03:32):
that's probably why it's popular and it's fun. I do
have a question for you, Ben though, sorry to cut
you off. I almost sipped my mic. I'm drinking a
macha and I almost sipped my mic instead of the straw.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
You're drinking mancha right now.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Sorry, No, you're good. So I want to go update
my intern lowdown before and speaking of your spring break,
I noticed you said in here that you had an
amazing vacation except for your airbnv flooded. I gotta know
what the tea on this airbnbol.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Yes, so the airbnab be flooded. Yeah, so picture this.
I believe it is the second day of the trip
and we've spent all day at the beach. We're just
like chilling drinking all day at the beach like it's
fab and me and three of my friends are still
at the beach, and then three of our other friends
(04:25):
are back at the house, we kind of like split.
Some people want to like go eat something whatever, So
we're all like napping on the beach. It's probably like
four or five end of the day, relaxing. We're all
like a sleep. We get a call from our friend
Ava and she's like the house is flooding, and we're
like and at first my friend Gianna was like, she's
(04:49):
definitely just like saying that so we can like get
back to the house faster so we can like go
to dinner whatever. Like we thought it was like a prank.
And we get back to the house and it's literally
flooding because basically the unit that was like on top
of hours, their bathrooms were leaking and overflowing question mark.
So then like there was a staircase. Then it like
(05:09):
leaked into hours. Oh geez, So like I don't really
know how that works, how that happens, but yeah, so
my friend Catherine's boyfriend Joseph was like trying to sweep
it out of the house like it was wild. It
thankfully like didn't last very long. They got the water
out cleaned up, was fine. It was really only affected
that one day for like two hours, like was not
(05:31):
anything crazy, but we reached out to the host to
be like, well, first they reached out and it was happening,
being like the house is flooding, like sent help, and
then they like did like hours later. So I don't know,
but then we were like we would like some sort
of like compensation. Yeah, like the house flooded, and not
(05:51):
only that, there were like other like little things that
like went wrong that they just added like into like
the report to to like try and get compensation. One
hundred and twenty dollars is what they gave us back.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
How much was it per night?
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Much more than that. I think my friend Catherine did
the like math on like what that percent is of
like what we paid total. I believe it was six percent,
oh six, which means that I believe it was six
percent something like that.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
It's like if six percent is one hundred and twenty.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Then I'm not Yeah, I don't know, but like not enough.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
Yeah, So I'm just amazed they didn't charge you guys,
like like they would blame you for the well, it was.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
The unit above us that flooded, so then it like flooded.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
Hours, so you sue them.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Yeah, I think my friend Catherine actually took it to
like Airbnb to like try and get more, and I
think they refunded her the cleaning fee eventually, which is
like still not enough.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
But yeah, did anyone's stuff get ruined in.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
This or surprisingly no, because it came into like the
kitchen area for the most part, so the rooms were
like a little.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Bit further away.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Damn.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
That's lucky, right.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
It's crazy lucky and unlucky at the same time.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, well, yes, yeah, I have videos if you guys
want to see after. Yeah, so I'm glad we all
had an eventful and good spring break. Do you guys
feel rested?
Speaker 4 (07:23):
No, I feel rested for a bit and now I'm
I'm not. Oh yeah, I'm.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Back is hiring time?
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Yeah, I don't feel rested either. What you were on
a beach, yes, which was fab, right, was like rest full,
but like you know, when you're like traveling and it's
still like go go go, you know what I mean.
So it's like a vacation, but it's not like you
like took a week off from like everything. You're still
like go go go. Went changed for the world though
(07:53):
it was great. Oh yeah, does anybody have any funny
stories of the office recently.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
I mean Gandhi was coming around earlier trying to see
if people could basically was a squad position, but like
you had sit into it or whatever, because apparently you're
supposed to be able to do this for two minutes.
It's like a natural sitting position. I know Scotty couldn't
do it. Nate basically just was in pain trying to
get down into it. I think Scary actually did a
solid job from but I could not see because they
(08:21):
were into the studio. But this was just at least earlier.
Today was Ghaneie was going around getting people to try
and see if they could do this. But outside of that,
I mean, nothing eventful really happened during the week. I know,
uh Abbey apparently left sandwiches in Elvis's fridge, so that
became like a whole mystery thing on one of the days,
but pretty normal so far.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
I'm like trying to think what happened while you two
were missing, Like what happened on like Friday, Like where
they weren't there.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
I mean, I know Rachel brought in her dog oscar
for a little bit, so was it dog?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:51):
I think you may have been out office too. I
think it was the onesday I was in, so one
of my tasks for the partially part of my day
was literally just sitting their dog sitting What see.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
I came in on Thursday, You're not in, you weren't here,
and so it was like me and like, I think
it was abby and everyone else was out of office,
and it was the two of us being like, well,
how are you cool?
Speaker 4 (09:13):
And then I would just like go back and do
something else.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Well, I remember seeing Oscar and I think it was
the Thursday because I only came in Thursday that week,
but it was later in the day.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Damn, Like you were probably I was at class or something.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Yeah, boo. Sorry this is a really off topic. But
your nails match your sweater like perfectly. Yeah, I know. Well,
I recently found out that me and Josh are hipped too,
like the same clubs in the city. Nope, listen. Josh
was like, oh, this club's around there, this club's around there.
I was here Da da da da, and I'm like, wait,
that's literally everywhere that I go. This is so awkward.
(09:45):
I'm like shocked. I haven't seen him. Yeah, he was
like I was at Flaming Saddles last week. I was like,
I was literally there yesterday.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Well crazy enough. One time last semester I saw like Celia, Abby, Josh,
Andrew all at a bar.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
It was kind of crazy.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
Which bar where it was eighty two Stanton.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah, I was just coming from Hair of the Dog
and you guys were coming from the Casey Musgraves concert
right yup.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
And then I don't know what it was.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
My friends were like, let's go check out eighty two
stand like we haven't been there before. We walk in,
I see Andrew only then across the bar go Drue.
He's like looking at me. I'm like, oh my god,
he totally does not want to see me right now.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
And then my friends are like, no, like you should
go say hi, and I was like, yeah, you're right.
So then I walk over and they're like, in this corner,
it's like an l bar, and I have to go
on the other side of the bar, and I'm walking
through these people like excuse me, excuse me. Then I
realize I'm saying excuse me to Abby and Josh right now.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Like what's happening in Celia?
Speaker 2 (10:49):
And then we took a photo send us a Tiana
and that was the dute thought.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
I feel like if I ran into coworkers in the wild,
it would be like when like your therapist is like
if I see you in the wild, like I won't
say anything, but you can come up to me and
that's your decision. Like I feel like I'm gonna like
treat like you guys like in the wild, like as
like my therapist, I'll be like bye bye and like sprinting.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
At my last job, I remember because it was just
like an internship that was gonna end once I go
back to school. And then obviously I ended up here
so that worked out. But anyway, like I was getting
friendly with everyone who I worked with. It was actually
at a law firm, which is kind of funny. Oh,
and I was like, oh my god, like it's almost
my last day.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
I coul follow you guys on Instagram and they're like, no,
you could do that now if you wanted to. It's
not like school.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
I'm crying. Yeah, I'm just one of these days I'm
going to run into Josh when I'm out and I'm
just gonna.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
Be like, wow, well give us the tea. What's your
favorite club right now? Your favorite bar?
Speaker 1 (11:46):
I don't think I have an answer right now, because
I've been like out of like my going out streak.
I feel like I've been on like sabbatical because like
the weather not been tea.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Well, we had that one nice day on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Yeah, we had one nice day. Oh it was fabulous.
But I say like for the past three months it's
been like not tea. So I've been itching to go out.
It just like has I've been like a homebody these days.
And then I'm also getting bored of everywhere that I've
been going out. So that's kind of why. I don't
know if I have an answer for you where, But
I think the Rosemont is fun. It's in Brooklyn. Williamsburg
(12:29):
Rise was fun for a while, but it's it gets
kind of overdone. I feel Flaming Saddles has been a
fun spot recently. Where's that Hell's Kitchen. It's literally too
close to here for comfort, Like when I came here.
When I came to Flaming Saddles for my friend's birthday,
I was like, this is I'm gonna be back here
(12:52):
too soon? Like down the streets. No, literally, but it's
like fun. It's like giving like tree Gay Bar and
the bartenders wear little cowboy hats and they get on
the bar every hour and do a little jig. Yeah
it's fab, No, it's literally fab. It's so tea flaming styles.
See you there with Josh. Yeah, but you guys all
(13:19):
also need to get hip to drag Race. Me and
Josh were talking about it earlier.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
I talked about drag Race with Josh, but like just
based off of the assumptions that like, I watch from
like Instagram. I'm on like drag Race Instagram, so I
know a lot of the updates from this season.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Your hip that it was a double Santa. Oh yes,
that's the first thing Josh said, and he walked in.
He went double shantaime. Anyways, living well, I was gonna say,
remember when we did the podcast with Garrett, Yeah, he
had not the nicest thing to say about our podcast.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
What did he say?
Speaker 2 (13:53):
What?
Speaker 4 (13:55):
What did he say?
Speaker 1 (13:57):
No, he said, he was like, yeah, you're pop us
is getting better.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
Honestly, I think the earlier episodes were funnier. Traders was around.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Yeah, well, he was like, yeah, you guys had a
rough start, but.
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Hello, I said, that's so.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Kind of you to say.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
I scare it even admitted when so I had to
do a podcast with him with Celia and I don't
even know who else but oh and Scotty being all
them but anyway, and he was like, yeah, like we're
the C team, like not even like maybe d and
like all this like okay, like.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
At least me and Ben were the B team when
they did the episode that was of the episode.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Yeah, yeah, so I don't really know, but thanks Garrett. Yeah,
I love you.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
Okay, I like Garrett.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Wait, then clearly he didn't listen to the episode that
I said that his segment is my favorite.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
Oh how long ago was that?
Speaker 2 (14:50):
I think it might have been the first episode, so
he should have been watching.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
I don't remember that, Like that's my favorite five minutes,
but the rest of the twenty five minutes and not
so good.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
The rest the podcast is asked, Wait, this is like
really niche and random. But I've been on Twitter all
morning like looking for like stories, whatever things we can post,
and the entire timeline has been about the leaks regarding
like Black Pink and other K pop groups are all
somebody quit the label and it's like leaking everything, like
(15:24):
what like some things that are like less scandalous, being
like music videos, album dates things like that, other things
that are a little bit more scandalous, like slurs being
said by certain people, things of that nature. It's really
crazy though. It's literally been my entire timeline. So I
(15:45):
was wondering if anybody heard about it, but I, oh no,
maybe it's just me because I've been chronically online this morning.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
I feel like I never got into the K pop world.
It missed me.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
I fear that's so. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Anyways, well we'll segue off of that. If speaking of
I guess kate pop music? What is everyone listening to
this week? We haven't done this in a while, so.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Let me let me open my eye free. iHeart radio app.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
So my friend and I just went to, like very
spontaneously to the Megan Maroni concert at Radio City.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Sold out.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
It was an amazing show. So I've been listening to her.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
I've listened to the new Lucy Dakas album. If any
of y'all are into that.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Oh, I've heard it's good. I haven't listened to it.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
It's pretty good. I quite liked it. It's like she's
like in love with that Julian Baker. So the album's good.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
How about you, ben As, you get your app open.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Yes my free heart radio app. I've been listening to
Eternal Sunshine DeLux, loved it. I thought Dandelion was definitely
the standout for me, as well as Hampstead. Everyone's or
She's She and the label are pushing twilight Zone, which
I think is an interesting choice. It sounds a little
(16:57):
bit too much like we can't be friends, which is us.
It does make sense as to why they're push it,
but I'm not sure it's the safe choice. And I
also recently made a playlist of how many thirteen songs?
Only not many. It's because I'm planning a video project
for one of my classes and I'm trying to pick
a song out of this group of songs. So there's
(17:17):
like some Fka Twig, some Image and Heap, some Magdalena
Bay and I'm like trying to pull something from that,
but i don't know what. Yeah, so that's what I'm
listening to.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Nice for me? What's it called? When I went home
this weekend? I be honest, my music is very pop
punk and sometimes hip hop slash rap stuff, so it's
very very niche for only those. But I was to
put onto a song called A Lot More Free by
Max McNown or if I'm pronouncing that right. Very basically,
my dad had to go to like some country event
and this guy was literally playing acoustic in a living
(17:48):
room that was probably the size of this room, so
he probably it me onto that and that's been like
my go to. But I also I'm with that pop
punk stuff. I'm a big a Data remember fan. And
they put out a new album. So at first I
listened to it, I was like, this isn't that good?
And then I keep now re listening to it and
I can't stop listening to this album. So yeah, I
need to get more pointless or more music from the
(18:09):
plotless because it has been like the same ten songs
sort of last week and I just I need more.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
So do you guys watch Poite Lotus right now?
Speaker 2 (18:16):
I want to?
Speaker 4 (18:17):
I need to. I've watched the first too.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
The only thing I know about White Lotus is I
just got a photo on my feed. I don't know
any context of the show or what this is, but
there's a guy who had a gun to his head
and he's wearing a Duke T shirt. I saw that
the University of Duke came out and was like, we
were upset by the imagery used in the show, But
for me as a sportsman, this is an all timer
meme now because anytime that school loses any sort of game,
(18:40):
that photo is going to be all over my Twitter timeline.
And I cannot wait because it is two perfect.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
They're in the final four, so this could happen?
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Is this basketball?
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Oh if they get eliminated, I'm so waiting for it.
All it's going to be is photo after photo after
photos this save thing winning my whole entire bracket. So okay,
it makes me sad about brackets. So I don't don't
pay attention to college basketball except for this time of year.
And I put together a bracket, and I had a
bunch of those one and two seeds when I originally
did it, and I'm like, that never happens. There's always
going to be some Cinderella. So I start switching on
(19:11):
teams and I'm like, son of a bitch, if I
just hit my bracket the same, I would have actually
had a good.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Bracket because it's all number one seeds.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
So if you just chose.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
To base on the rate, like how high they're ranked
going into the tournament. So if you had a better
season you're going to be number one or two or three.
It goes all the way down to however many teams
there are. So everyone in the final four is a
number one seed for their.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
Section of the US. Oh so okay, So it's who the.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Four Auburn, Ucla and Florida Florida, Florida.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Yeah, Florida Gators. Them and Duke or like, I know
the two heavy favorites because they just keep dominating every game.
But I think this is the first time all the
number one seeds made it SIXCEP since like two thousand
and eight. I saw or someone mentioned that earlier. But
I'm like, my roommates been getting me into watching it.
It's the only way reason I've been playing attention these
And I just said, because Saint John's just who I
wanted and they got eliminated in the second round.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
So who are you guys wrote routing for.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
I don't know anything about this.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
I'm rooting for UCLA. Go Bruins. I didn't even apply
to that school. I just happened to, like live in LA.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Let's go Florida. I have them winning my bracket. I
could win money if they do it.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
Put money down, not big.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Money, so my entire radio department, like comschool, all the
sports department, there's like eighty of us and a shared
bracket on the CBS app. We all threw in five bucks,
so the winner gets like four hundred bucks. I'm thirty eight,
so I have no shot. But I wagered a lot
of points for Florida. So let's pray, pray for Florida.
Shout out Scotti. I was just gonna say that, But yeah,
(20:48):
I need Florida to.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Win this and Froggy, but yeah, I'm also going to Florida.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
I don't know, Like Susie two, the.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Team's shoot the basketball, you really think is gonna win?
Speaker 1 (21:03):
She has a better chance of winning basketball if she
wins that fucking show. And literally, like I don't know,
you'll never see me.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
How many episodes are left, Like into the finale, it's.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
Like two or three, so technically three, but I am
confused with a double yeah, because now there's still five
people left, so the next episode will bring.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
It down to four or they'll do it elimination.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
True, but I feel like people are I feel like
they'll be good enough, Like I think everyone left is
good enough to make it to the finale.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
Somewhat so like a five person finale.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
No, I think they'll do four. Okay, they've done four
for a while, then they did three once. I think
they'll do four.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Guys.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
I miss when they did three.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Like saying, oh we can. Actually I think I like
four better because it's more. There's like more going on
in the finale, which is fun.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
But I think the least interesting part of the finale
is the performances because.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Like I agree, they're always bad.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
They're either always bad except for and they give them
like original songs too, and like they're always kind of.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Like really good. But anyways, then it will be reunion
or la la perusa. Word on the street is it's
a la la perusa, which is just weird, which is
like when they do the lip sync tournament. Oh my oh,
I know this was a flop season for lips and
so I don't know why they would do it anyways,
it would be different one flounder on the seventeenth or
eighteenth or something. Well, I'm glad we were able to
(22:24):
get together today, you guys. Yeah, and glad that we're
all back better than ever.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
The family's back, you know, good old happy family.
