Speaker 1 (00:01):
I think that my mom was relying very much on
the fact that I was a child, that I wasn't
going to remember much, that she could basically just shepherd
me or shove me in front of whomever she was
interacting with and say, well, that's Paul Skyhorse and that's
who your father is, and that I would just accept
it at face value. That's Brando's Skyhorse, no longer a child,
(00:25):
no longer being led into believing the stories spun by
his mother.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
So my memory is like, Oh, at last, here is
my father, here's someone I'm connected with. It was that
sense of relief. It was that sense of like, oh,
finally this question has been answered for me, when.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
The harsh reality of it is that my search was
just beginning.
Speaker 3 (00:53):

(01:15):
in which family secrets almost always need to be told,
shared held. Welcome to season twelve, which drops on Thursday
May twenty ninth. Here's Aaron Mcreynold's reliving the most difficult
of discoveries.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
We go in and it's dark and it's quiet and
it's cool. We're by the ocean. Nothing unusual. The place
seems neat, but I'm not really looking around. I just
see that the bedroom door is closed. So one bedroom condo,
very small, and I go to open the door and
nothing is just a big rumpled bed in the middle
of the room, and so I go over to open
(01:53):
the blinds. I was like, finally I can see something,
and start looking around and I think maybe I'll get
a clue as to where they went. There's a defel
bag on the bed, and I go to move the
defel bag to see what's inside of it.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
And Julie fingersh on an unwelcome sensation felt toward her daughter.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
As a parent, you're allowed to feel a lot of things,
but you're definitely not allowed to feel jealous.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
Of your own kid. This is not something we talk about.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
We can say jokingly, I want to come back as
my kid in my next life.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Okay, that's one thing, but you're not really allowed.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
To say I am jealous of my child, and that
is what I was feeling and that when I knew
something was very wrong.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
I hope you'll join me and my extraordinary guests for
this new season of Family Secrets, starting May twenty ninth,
