set by Texas Governor Greg Abbott for House Democrats to
return to the state has passed. The Democrats left the
state in a bid to stop Republicans from advancing maps
that would give the GOP five more pickup opportunities ahead

Illinois to stop today's vote, and Abbott threatened to remove
them if they didn't show up when the state House convenes.
The move denies Republicans the minimum number of lawmakers needed
present in order to be able to conduct legislation. Democrats
have blasted the decision to redraw the maps, which they
say could suppress the votes of people of color. Wall
Street is closing with stocks sharply hire to start the week.

It comes after a sell off on Friday that was
sparked over tariff concerns and a poor July jobs report.
At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial average gained
five hundred and eighty five points, the S and P
five hundred rows by ninety one points, and the NASDAK
gained four hundred and three points. Smoke from Canadian wildfires
is impacting air quality in the upper Midwest and Northeast.
Over seven hundred wildfires are raging in Canada, and at

least eight states from Maine to Wisconsin were under some
sort of air quality alert earlier. Today, skies are expected
to be hazy from Green Bay into Detroit and New
York City and out to Boston. A civilian aircraft was
intercepted by fighter jets after flying above President Trump's golf
club in New Jersey over the weekend. The Defense Command
says the jets scrambled to the restricted airspace above the

property in Bedminster Sunday, adding that flares were used. Trump
was there at the time and the aircraft was escorted out.
McDonald's is testing beverage concepts at five hundred US locations.

from its short lived drink focused spinoff restaurant Cosmics. Cold coffees,
fruity refreshers, crafted sodas, and energizing SIPs are expected to
be available at restaurants in Wisconsin, Colorado, and surrounding areas.

I'm Chris Karajio. The Texas Lottery Commission will pay almost
forty six million dollars to a woman who has denied
her winnings for months. Court record show that an agreement
between the Lottery Commission and Christian Moriarty were filed on Thursday.
The Lottery Commission said the settlement was reached with help
from Attorney General Ken Paxton's office. Moriarty we'll receive forty
five point eight million dollars before taxes in a single

lump sum. Payoutcomes over five months after she bought the
winning Latto Texas ticket worth eighty three point five million
in February. She made the purchase online through the lottery
courier service Jackpocket. The Federal Trade Commission is warning consumers
about a scam involving Amazon. Sara Lee Kessler reports.

commerce company, but with fraudsters trying to make it look
legit they're sending phony text messages claiming to be from
Amazon saying an item you bought has been recalled. The
FTC said, don't fall for it, don't click on the
link offering a full refund, or you could be ripped
off by scammers who are after your money and personal data.

Crypto billionaire Justin Sun joined five others Sunday on a
trip to the edge of space. They were carried up
by Blue Origins New Shepherd craft launched from the company's
West Texas spaceport. It was the thirty fourth flight for
the craft and a big moment for Son, who was
originally supposed to fly on board the first ever Knew
Shepherd launched back in twenty twenty one. After paying twenty
eight million dollars in an auction, a scheduling conflict canceled

his plans. Back then, almost sixty percent of millennials and
gen Zers blamed their social life for hurting their financial goals.
A new survey from Ally Bank also found that forty
two percent of them report overspending on their social budgets
several months out of the year. Ally's survey also revealed
most American adults covet social time with nearly seventy percent

saying they meet with friends in person at least once
a week. On average, they spent two hundred and fifty
dollars a month on social activities. Fewer than one and
five say they have a strict budget for activities with friends.
