Speaker 1 (00:06):
The summer of twenty twenty, millions protested for racial justice
across the country, with some of these protests turning violent
that summer, it felt like history in the making. Big
changes were coming, and then the protests just stopped. There

(00:32):
were these rumors that government agents had infiltrated the movement,
pushing it towards collapse. It sounded paranoid, right, but you
know what, Okay it is August twenty eight, twenty twenty
aparts only four, two pm. It wasn't. I'm Trevor Aaronson

(00:52):
and I'm a journalist covering federal law enforcement. The Alphabet
Agencies is the FBI. Sometimes you get it grabbed the
little guy to go after the big gun. This is
Alphabet Boys, a new series from Western Sound and iHeart Podcasts.
Each season we'll take you deep inside and undercover investigation. Okay,

(01:13):
so you do personal security all over the world. You're
connected to all these different people. You'll hear recordings that
were kept secret until now, and you had somebody call
you and say can you get grenades and guns for
this guy in Columbia And you'll discover that well, many
of these cases have plenty of danger and intrigue. I
just drove for eight hours and then I just stuffed

(01:33):
my gun in the face of a federal agent. The
Alphabet Boys also introduced so much absurdity. I got knocked
off of building about a month ago. On my hip
is shattered well that it's hard not to wonder our
America's top cops catching real criminals or creating them. In

(01:58):
season one, We're headed to Denver. You see seven seven
five in Denver, Colorado. Today is August twenty fifth, where
FBI agents are investigating political activists following the murder of
George Floyd. A mysterious man rolls into town. He's wearing

(02:19):
military fatigues and he has a cigar dangling from his lips.
The car he drives is unmistakable a silver horse. He
was very convincing, but he did explain, you know, he
was before this bom movement and inside his heart with
a like a lot of goods. Was this the guy
the movement needed to take things to the next level?
The end of the day could come to me. I

(02:40):
got something before you play stupid games, when stupid prizes?
Or did he have a secret agenda? He was just
waiting for me to set the date, the time, a
meeting spot, and then for sure he was trying to
get into heaven. He's a bad guy. The bad guys
are tracing bad guys, and I feel he's gonna keep

(03:00):
doing this forever if they want to cover up the
fact that local, state, and federal law enforcement caused violence here.
