Let's start with the Question of the day. Kathy, It's all.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yours, okay, Susan, I have news for you and Bachelor Nation.
We're not doing the Question of the Day today, We're not.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
No.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
You and I are good bestie friends, right, Yes, I
know what you think, you know what I think. It
is now time for you to tell Bachelor Nation what
has really been going on in your life. So I'm
gonna let you take it away, and just let me
just say for everyone before we get started. Here, Susan
and I took I feel like I'm writing a fairy
(01:35):
tale here. Susan and I took a trip together. Nancy
was supposed to come, but it ended up being the
two of us to Saint Martin Island in the French
West Indies. And Susan take it away what happened.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
So I've been holding on to this secret for a
little bit. Now I did meet someone, and I know
I've been talking about being single because I didn't know
where it was going to go. I know what I felt,
but wanted to make sure we were both on the
same page.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
And I just have to share that we are.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
We were having fun and we're just seeing where things
are going. And now I can honestly say he's the
real deal. I have found my person.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Yah, she's let it out finally. Oh my god, you're
killing me.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
I can't tell anyone keep doing okay, So tell everyone
about him.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
So yes, Bachelor Nation and all you listeners, it was
my turn, and thank god, I mean. I went on
National TV on the Golden Bachelor and it didn't work.
And Kathy and I were having a fabulous vacation and
one night we went to bed.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
She was upstairs.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
I was in my room and I was playing games
on my computer and I could not sleep, and I thought,
you know what, what do I got to lose?
Speaker 3 (02:45):
I went on Tinder.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
See everybody, It does work when you least expected and
trust and believe me, I used to be on all
the dating sites forever. So I tried it and I
saw somebody I swiped, and then I didn't get on
for like three days.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Remember I remember, and I didn't know, by the way,
I did have no idea.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
I had no idea she had done this.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
We were going to the beach, We're going out having dinner,
and then what happened Susan.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
And I decided to check back in and there was
a message, and I was like, oh, so that was
the fun part. Of course, he is French and he
speaks French. So when he asked for the first meet,
I made Kathy come.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
So let me just say he is from Paris. I's
out of Paris, and his name is Frederick oh Borde
excuse me, I drink it. I don't know where the
hell it is anyway. He just speaks very little English.
He speaks a little more English than Susan does French.
I speak enough French, Yeah, I speak enough. So Susan says,
(03:48):
you have to come, you have to come to this bar.
And so literally we walked to the bar. It was
Susan's Panic arrestaurant. Well, they had a bar. Susan's panicked.
She said, what am I doing? What am I doing?
Speaker 3 (04:01):
And he asked me to bring the ear pods.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Remember, yes, he said bring your EarPods because he's going
to load a translation app on her phone.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
So we get there.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
I introduced them both to each other in French and myself,
How weird is this? People, Susan has got a date
with a Frenchman who doesn't speak English. She doesn't speak French.
She's in there with her iPad with her earphones. Yes,
so we meet, we sit down and have a drink.
Then what happens.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Katy leaves me and I just because I didn't know
what to do.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
So he takes my phone and he does this app
and we're it's starting to talk, and three hours in
I said to him, the real personality came out. I said,
you know where I come from. When I go on
a date or first meet somebody, I do a lot
of eye contact. I can't even tell you what color
your eyes are. I haven't read from my phone because
she had, and so what I did. Because I was
(04:55):
feeling very uncomfortable. These two were head down on their
phones trying to figure out this translation app. I called
Nancy from our season, who is also our very dear friend.
I said, Nancy, I texted her.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
I said, Nancy, call me, and she did and I said, Frederic, Susan,
I have to go.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
I have a very important phone call. That's how I
got out of there. Thank you, Nancy.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
So they spent the evening together and had a great time,
and the next day then he called.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
He was like, it wasn't like an instant because, like
I said, I didn't even look at him hardly, but
there was something. There was a lot of chemistry. He
walked me home after three and a half hours. Oh wait,
he had asked if we had a little appetizer, a
couple drinks, and he asked if I wanted another one.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
I said no, thank you, I said no, Wait, you
know what, May I have a gramaier? Please?
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Well he just to this day he makes me say graemonier,
not even thinking.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
And he walked me home. He wanted to come in,
but the rules or the rules over again?
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Can I just say that ended my vacation because the
next night.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
He went to dancing.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
He wanted to go dance pachata, which is something I
love to do.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yeah, did I go with you? No?
Speaker 3 (06:09):
You wouldn't.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Oh my gosh, can I just tell you my girlfriend here?
I mean, what's the word I could use a damper
on things? The guilt, the guilt I was feeling. She
was like, no, you're not going out with him. You
don't even know him. You're not leaving me.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
And I was like, Kathy, please, Kathy.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
What did I say? Finally I said, just go, but
don't bring it back here. This guy could be an
X murderer in French.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Wait, and he sent a message saying that the name
of the place we're going, the address, and please come
and you know you'll have a good time, blah blah
blah and it should be over around eleven. There was
a band, the Live Band, and that was the last
time they were playing there and he liked them, So
that was the story. So eleven o five, wait, eleven
(06:52):
o five, I get my phone and it's blowing up.
We're coming off the dance floor. I'm sweating and I
see Kathy's message. You said eleven o'clock. It's eleven fifteen.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Where are you?
Speaker 1 (07:02):
So we did a video friend. I just wanted to
make sure you were okay. But meanwhile, one of the
other friends that we met, Susan did feel very gealgy
about leaving me. But I think everyone will understand. I
was not really excited about being a third wheel on
their date where they're using this translation app to talk
to each other. So one of our friends in Saint
Martin had this reservation at this very expensive restaurant. So
(07:26):
I went and we were dying laughing because Susan's out dancing.
I'm at a restaurant having.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Literally a twenty course Neil, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
I have no Susan said, how was the food? I said,
it was great? What did you have? I said, I
don't know, I don't know, I don't know. It was good.
It was a little bites of this. So she's with
the guy the next day.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
What happens, which day was that.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
That was okay, okay.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
When I said to Kathy, by the third day, okay,
I know you don't want anybody in here, but he's
coming in.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
I really like this guy.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Kathy.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Here, the two of them are. I think I posted this.
Actually you're trying to speak to him. She speaks in Spanish,
she speaks in French, she speaks in English, and I
remember the video him laughing, going Katy, Katy, please one
language English.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
English.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
So as I got to know him, I was much
more relaxed with him.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
But when I him immediately, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
What I honestly could see don't cry. Susan was how
happy she was. She couldn't wipe the smile off her face.
She kept saying to me this, I've never felt this
way about a guy. Susan tends to rush in to love.
Susan loves being in love, which is great, don't we all,
But she rushed into it with this guy. But once
I got to meet him and talk to him, he
(08:39):
was such a nice guy and genuinely nice to me,
and I thought, okay, you know what, she might have
struck gold here.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Can I just tell you how romantic the French are.
They need to give lessons to our men in America
and the United States. Because the second trip I went,
Kathy and I were supposed to go to California with
our friends to Palm Desert and my girlfriend had had
a heart attack and it was canceled. So now I
(09:07):
come home and he's like, when can I see you?
And I said, well, just so happens that my trip
was canceled. I had the time off, I had the
miles for an air thing. I said, I'll come back,
but you'll have to help me find a place to stay.
Said no, no, no, my darling, you stay here.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
I was like, oh God, and let me just say
to you. So we came back.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
To the end of this first trip was that Susan
spent every waking moment with this guy, and I was
fine with it. You know, he came over when we left,
but we So we got home and Susan usually calls
me in the morning and we'll chit chat. And she's
calling me and she sounds like something the cat track,
(09:45):
and I'm like, what is wrong with you? Said, We've
been on the phone till three in the morning. So
she and Frederic every night we're skyping with the translation.
Can you imagine till three in the morning, I thought, Okay,
she's in deep now.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
It's amniable when you think it's never going to happen.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I'm holding my breath.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
I'm holding Kathy.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
So I've decided not to go to Paradise because I
found the love of my life.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Right, you found your love in Paradise. If I get
to go to Paradise, I'm only hoping I find the
love that you and Frederic I see. But can I
just say, Susan's keeping the airlines in business air? What
trip are we on now? Seriously, don't look how many times?
Fourth since February. Fourth trip back to Saint Martin.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
So when I was there and I fell, remember I
broke my hands.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Was that the second trip? I think it was?
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Well, I remember him asking me to delay.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
It was the second trip. It was.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
I was supposed to leave on a Saturday, and he made,
he begged, and I delayed it to Monday. It was
Saint Patrick's Day, that's right, and we were going to
a friends for dinner, and yeah, I fell that morning,
so I had to stay passing, right.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
And so they were going on this romantic hike and
they she fell and he was there for her. He's
I mean, this is a man. He takes care of you,
he takes care of her, and he's so romantic the
things he writes to her. At first, when he wrote that,
you remember when I said, Susan, where's he Where's he
stealing that from one book? He was quoting Moliere, which
(11:29):
was a French author, And I thought, no, he's just
stealing this stuff.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
He doesn't, he doesn't.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Really right, and about him sharing that he never ever
in his life told anybody that he was in love
with them this.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Soon, yeah, And then we went to.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
Our friend Dawn't house and there was like twelve people
there and they're all questioning them, all kinds of questions.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
And he doesn't speak English. Okay, so he goes into.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
The bathroom and writes this paragraph and translates it to English,
and he says at the table, I have something to say.
And he showed it to me first, of course.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
And then he read it.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Well, there wasn't a dry eye in the place, and
he was talking about how fortunate he feels that he
met someone like me and how he loves me, and
everybody was like, oh my god.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
It's true.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
I have to say Susan has shared many of his missives,
his his love notes with me and the guy. They
are both smitten. You know, he wants her to move
in yesterday. What is your plant, Susan, You're not you know, how.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Do you think I'm going to go as often as
I can? I you know, I have business up here.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
I do my thing, So maybe I don't know, a
few months in the winter maybe, but yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Well, say Kathy's lost her travel partner.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
No, I'm still going on vacation with you.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Guys, Okay, okay, yeah, then I'll get on tender. You
can see how it feels. I'm going out and dancing.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
And he's tall, and he's handsome. He's a younger than me.
How old is he, Susan, He's fifty four.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
How old are you?
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Saysn't sixty eight?
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Fourteen years younger folks.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Yeah, it works, it's just we laugh, I mean the laughter.
He's as silly as I am, if you can imagine.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
And he cooks.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Yes, he's a great cook.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
I mean truly. The only thing.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
For those of you don't know Susan as well as
I do, this is a guy who lives the island life.
He's he has his own business. He works, and when
he wants to take days off to go to the
beach or go surfing, he does that too, And ask Susan,
we will I'll ask for I'll ask for the world.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Hey, Susan, how do you like his house with the dog?
Speaker 3 (13:38):
The dog's not a problem. The hair.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
You know me, I'm a little I'm a neat freak.
I'll never forget day three because the dog hair. And
I'm like, where's the vacuum. Don't get angry when I
asked this, but I need a vacuum in a mob
like it doesn't bother them, no greens, you know, so
it freaks me outfit I'm adjusting.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
She calls me from Saint Martin and we chit chat
while she's there, and she said, Kathy, I have to clean.
I said, Susan, you have a broken wrist.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Are you kidding? She goes, I can't stand the dirt.
I have to clean.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
So if he can put up with your fastidiousness, your
need for clean this guy is a keeper. That's all
I'm saying. Because as people may or may not remember,
when I go to Susan's house and I'm sitting eating
at her kitchen table. She's sweeping underneath me. I mean
the crumbs are on the plate, but she just wants
to make sure.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
You'd be so proud of me, Kathy, I feel a
long way.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
So he is, but just he is a super duper guy,
very kind and it's so nice to see you so
and love, Susan, it really is.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
His name is Frederic, and I'm taking French lessons. I
don't think.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
I'm doing very well.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Well you just started, SuSaNi.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
God, I've been on those apps for two months now.
I know a couple of words, but to speak it
is a whole nother story.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
I sound Spanish.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Well, here's something when you learn a foreign language.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
When you learn a foreign language, there's a lot of
memorizing that goes into it, and then you'll understand.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
I know, but you can do it.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
You'll understand before you're able to speak it, just like
a baby, right a baby understands a talker and.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Read it better than I can reading.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
And understanding it, and then you'll be able to speak it.
At your wedding, I listen, I'm going to get what
is it not confirmed? Or dang, that's it? And I
am going to learn the thing in French and English.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
And you know what, I don't know that I have
to get married, but I would want a commitment.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
You want to ring to.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Bearshit in the.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Woods, Susan wants to ring. Listen, tell me what you want.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
That Jeffrey already said to him. When you want, I'm ready.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Okay, Well, I just want everyone to know just how
we're gonna. We're going to get some more details.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
But I just want to say one thing. I know
a lot of our fans out there are single. I
had people email me just today. I opened one and
pouring her heart out about well, you got to go
on national TV, so maybe that's a plus. It doesn't
matter I didn't meet anybody. It's been two years since
our show.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Right, you know.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
But let me say, you know how, I am a
big proponent of telling people, you know, get up off
the sofa, do something, because they're not going to come
and knock on your door. Susan was very lucky with Frederick.
But you know what Susan did. She took the risk.
She got on a dating app. And I mean some
would call it downright scary in a foreign country going
to meet a guy. But we met in a public place,
(16:40):
it all holds true. Susan put herself out there, and
that's what you have to do. You got to put
yourself out there, and that's how she did.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
So.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Now, Susan, three days.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
Prior to that, I was whining to you, and we
were enjoying ourselves.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
That we Now I get to wine. But what I
want to know, it's because the world wants to know.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Susan. Have you told each other you love each other?
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Yet?
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Yes? We have?
Speaker 2 (17:05):
Really?
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Yes, really I am I can't even explain this feeling.
I think he is everything I've ever dreamed of, the
way he treats me and takes care of me.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Kathy.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
When I broke my arm, I needed a shower, the
man showered me, shaved my legs, washed me. I mean,
he took care of me like no other.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
They don't make.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Them like this.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
I don't know where I can, but I'm blessed.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
I feel you are blessed. So you guys have or
have not talked about a future? I know you would,
You've told me kind of, But what are you thinking
for your future with him?
Speaker 3 (17:41):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
I don't want to plan. I just wanted to organically happen.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Oh you mean like the airplane tickets, see you buy?
What do you mean organically happened? What do you think
a magic carpet's going to come and pick you up?
Speaker 4 (17:55):
But I plan to be there all the time as
much as I can, and if not, I know he
wants to go to Las Vegas and get married.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
But I didn't have to sign the papers, he said,
But it was a thing.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
He wanted to film it, and he was going to
dress like Fredstare, but he wanted Elvis Presley there so
his friends in France would And he called.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Me his wife.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Well that's a French thing, you said, right.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Yes, I had to look it up. I'm like your wife.
You are my wife.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Okay, you were easy.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
So wait a minute, I want to know. So you
don't have a you're not planning to get married right now.
You're not going to spend full time down there, but
you're going to try to go spend a couple of
months there and then come home do.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
That as much as I can.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
As I know you, that's going to turn into more
time there and less time here, which is great because
he has a guest room for me, so it's working
out for me.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
To Okay, two children. They're lovely.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Okay, that's my next question. Have you met his children?
Has he met your children? What's everybody? What's the plea?
Speaker 4 (18:55):
From FaceTime? But his son was there, his son will
be there until the end of May, and he'll go
back to France when the weather gets nice.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
He's a surfer.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
And his daughter just two days ago. He must have
told her that I'm returning. Excuse me, I'm going down
on the twenty seventh and staying for fifteen days. And
she said, I come, I must my father is in love.
I must see her in person. Now we facetimed quite
a bit and she does speak a little bit of English,
(19:26):
so I'm looking forward to having a train.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
His children do speak English a little bit, a little bit,
so okay, so you've met them on FaceTime.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
What about your kids? Have they met him?
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Brittany has met him. My boys not yet.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
They just know about them, so they baby steps, baby steps.
My one son, Nicholas, at first, was like, Mom, what
are you just going to go up and move? You're
going again? And I said, Nicholas, when's the last time
you came over here?
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (19:53):
You know, I haven't seen you in six weeks. You
said that we text think about it. I want to
be happy. Don't you want your mom to be happy?
Good for you and my ex husband?
Speaker 3 (20:03):
You know, congratulations. I'm glad you're happy.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Like this is the last what do we always talk
about the last chapter? And it's going to be and
it truly seems like it's your best chapter. I've never
seen you smile so much and be so happy, and
I truly and I know that we all share that.
We're just so you know, so happy that you guys.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
I want everybody to have this feeling. And I know
I have been in love before I was married, but
it just feels different right now.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
Okay, how did you so that? What you're just reading
my mind here? How do you know? How did you know?
I mean you've told me, but for everyone else, how
did you know he was the love of your life?
Because you've told me those were.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
The way he makes me feel, and the kind things
that he does, and the silly stuff.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
I mean, we crack up. I'm crying laughing.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Kathy, I will say, she facetimes me when she's in
Saint Martin and we chat. And you know, I talked
to Frederick and he is he does make her laugh.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
I mean, you two just sit.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
And I make him laugh like I have a question,
you have a question?
Speaker 1 (21:13):
He is. It's hard to believe, but I can honestly say,
for all you doubters, if there are any of you
out there, I've never seen her like this. And even
though I was a little nervous in a foreign country,
which she said, come on, Kathy, We're going on a
lot because I love you. You're my friend and I
want you to be said, and but I have to.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
W on the date with Kathy and the guy. That's
the difference between you would have or not. Yeah, I
definitely would have. Oh please, it's dancing.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
I love to dance.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Yeah, Susan, if I go on a date with a guy, uh,
I am not. I am not asking you out on
the date with me, just saying, if I find the guy,
did he.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Wanted you to feel comfortable? He was worried about you.
I know he's actually how good of a man? This man?
Speaker 2 (22:00):
And what did I say to Frederic? Do you have
a brother? Yes? Again, you have a brother.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
So I think that I think that, uh, I could
not be happy for you. We're going to get some
more details, uh in a few minutes. Here, we're gonna
We've got some of the things we want to talk about.
But I just we all wanted Bachelor Nation to know
another love story. Another. You know you didn't meet him
on the Bachelor. You're not going to paradise, But Susan,
(22:27):
I am telling.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
You, paradise is to fall in love.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
It's about hope, about finding your person, and I was
ad for it.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
If I get to go, If I get to go,
you better start crossing everything you can cross for me.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
Do you hear me? You got everything?
Speaker 3 (22:42):
You got it, and I'll tell Frederic to do the same.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
And can I just talk about the luggage please?
Speaker 1 (22:53):
All right?
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Later on in the episode, I'm going to share with
you another great, great quality this man has.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
He's got so many good qualities.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Guts, she can't stop talking, she's in love.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
You opened the can of worms there, all right, everybody
out there, there's hope, just when you least expect it.
Because I stopped looking and was enjoying my vacation with
my girlfriend. And I do love Saint Martin. I've been
there seven times, well not counting the last four, but
I go every.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Year and now here we go, here we go.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Okay, Susan, let's get into our fan question for today.
This one is from Carrie and it's actually an audio submission,
so let's play it now.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
Okay, Hi, Kathy and Susan.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
My name is Carrie, long standing Bachelor Nation fan and
love the Golden Bachelor series.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Go Gary.
Speaker 5 (23:52):
My question is actually for the both of you. So
you talk a lot about on your podcast that you're
looking for the right guy and you know, wanting to
get into a relationship. You also have been doing a
ton of publicity and promotions and TV shows and podcasts
and so much fun travel and opportunities that have presented.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
So my question is if you do find.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
The right guy on all levels relationship wise, your families
are machine and they really wanted to focus just on
the relationship and settling in around your home area, obviously
traveling together, but taking a step out of the limelight
and not doing so much publicity.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
What would you do?
Speaker 5 (24:28):
How would you approach that situation?
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Thank you?
Speaker 1 (24:30):
So this is a great question, Carrie, thanks for sending
it in and it's so time appropriate right now after
Susan talking about her new love Frederic. So, Susan, what
do you think how would you answer that.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
So what I picked up one immediately was in your hometown,
in the same town. Mine is a long distance relationship,
and we've had many times talked about such things, whether
we thought they work and so on. That was the
first thing that hit me. So it doesn't matter where
they live, not in the beginning.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
So did you take a step away? No?
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Why should I still do my thing?
Speaker 4 (25:16):
I mean, i'd take a step away from dating, of course,
but not to limelight.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
This is my business, this is what I do.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
I love my podcast, I love Bachelor Nation people, I
love everybody that listens to us. And if there's another
show that comes up, like my Got to Get Out
show that just aired. I'm having a ball in my
life my last chapter. And I met my man.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
So you don't think it's I mean I personally, we've
talked about this. You and I'm not on air, but
I'm not really the same way. I think if I
met my guy, that's my goal. I still would want
to do the podcast and stuff, but I don't think
i'd be.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
I would do a TV show.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Well, I might do a TV show. I'm saying it
wouldn't be my first and foremost. The man in my
life would be first and foremost for me. I'd want
that relationship with him, and i'd want with his kids
and my kids.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
I mean, that's that's the COMPETI.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
Kids are adults now.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
My grandkids.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
I'm saying I would want them, and I'd want to
spend time with him, you know, absolutely.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
But when you do a show, you're not gone forever.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Well, I mean, you were gone a month on the
show you did last year, and Bachelor was a month,
and you know, if I get to do Paradise, that's
a month.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
So I'm just saying, it's a lot of time to
be away.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
But I get it. It's a career, and I think
at our age there's.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Room for both.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
What would you do and how would you approach that
situation if you find the right person on all levels
and families are great. Everybody's going to do what they do.
Everybody has a career or a job, so you make
it work.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Now, I absolutely wouldn't walk away from it.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Well, I think that's good.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
I think one thing though, that Carrie didn't say, but
I would say to you, is you have to consider
someone else now, right.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
You can't just make decisions.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
You obviously have a conversation.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
Yes, right, And so do you think it's possible that
Frederick would ever say to you, Hey, Susan, you're gone
too much. I need to hear more.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
I do not, because I had the conversation with him,
he would be okay with me gone to do work?
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Yes, okay. Well I think I think Carrie, if you're
struggling with it, I.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Think you need to have a conversation.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Yeah, you need to have I was gonna say you
need to have the We're glad by the way that
you're a long standing fan of Bachelor Nation and olden
Bachelor series, and I think if you are in that situation,
I think Susan makes a good point, Carrie, which is,
if you're in the same hometown, it's a lot easier
to maneuver. But you can navigate a long distance relationship.
(28:02):
It just takes planning and communication, right.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
And I'm here to tell you how it's going to work,
step by step.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
I just I was just wondering if it could present
a problem if he wanted you there and you couldn't
be there.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
But I guess you're right.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
You just communicate, talk it out, figure out both compromises.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Those damn Seawards, isn't there?
Speaker 3 (28:20):
They are at We love those? We love those?
Speaker 2 (28:22):
All right? Are you ready?
Speaker 1 (28:24):
In the vein of vacation and island life. We're going
to play a game today called deal Breakers Vacation Edition.
It's going to be so fun. Okay, So I'm going
to read the prompt. We're going to decide if the
hypothetical is enough to make us pack our bags and
call it quits, or if it's fixable.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Okay. So I'm gonna read the first one.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
And there's a story about this one. I can hardly
wait to get into it.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Ready, You're on vacation with your long term boyfriend. Is
it a deal breaker if he refused uses to carry
any of your bags?
Speaker 3 (29:02):
First answer that I see where you're going with this friend.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
Would he carry your bags?
Speaker 4 (29:09):
Yes he would, Yes he would. Kathy forgot a piece
of luggage when he took us. No, he didn't take us.
He was saying goodbye to us. We go off to
the airport. We drop off the rent car, counting our
bags because we each bought another suitcase because we bought
the many clothes. And Kathy goes into full panic mode,
(29:30):
and ladies and gentlemen. When I say full panic mode.
I thought I was going to take her to the er.
This woman was dying. Oh my god, it was her
biggest bags. So we call Frederic. He's already home. He
leaves his house, goes back to where we were staying,
which is fifteen minutes, then drives all the way across
the island.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
To give Kathy her luggage.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
And let me just tell you, we are sitting in
the rental car place.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
As she wouldn't move.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
I wouldn't move, and the woman's like calling Frederic, speaking
in French. He's like, I will go get it. What
happened was Frederic, being the gentleman that he is. Katy
carried all our luggage down. I started to carry the
luggage and he said, oh, I've got it. I'll get it,
just get in the car. I don't think he realized
that there was another one at the top of the stairs.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
No, it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
He told me it was in the guest room. Still,
it was still in our guest room. It made it
out oh.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Even worse anyway, Yes, so not only would it would
it be a deal breaker if he didn't. This is
a man who drove on the island to get Kathy's suitcase.
We love you, Frederic. If you're listening, we're just crossing us.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
And he'll say it in French. Now Kathy mess and
now say it in English.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Okay, okay, all right.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
He sighs dramatically every time you ask him to take
a picture of you and he only takes one or two.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Well, I so that you and I are different for me.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
You know, people get you asked someone to take a
picture and they take like forty six shutter things just flying.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
For I'm like, why are we doing this?
Speaker 1 (31:14):
I now are forty pictures of the same scene, the
same look, Frederic. Though he's like you, he likes to
pose for pictures.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
Yes, we do selfies all the time. We film must dancing. Yes,
that would be That wouldn't be a deal breaker, though.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
No, I'll tell you my husband did not like taking pictures.
He was like take it, just take it.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Like he was one of.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
Those he refuses to try any local food and only
wants to eat at chain restaurants.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Oh oh see you later, by Yeah, that's that's a
deal breaker there.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
That might be a deal breaker.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
I like to go when when you and I have
gone to to Saint Martin. We go to different restaurants
from every night. Every night we try something different.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
We cooked, that's true, but like.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
The island shrimp is different. Like you have to try.
You have to try the cuisine of place you're visiting.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Its absolutely you have to.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
All right, how about this one? He dedicates two whole
days to watching sports in the hotel room.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
Would that be a Dale breakwap?
Speaker 4 (32:25):
So my life was sports with my ex husband, Like
if it were during the World Series, I might understand
or or you know, in football.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
But but.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
So when I have to tell you when I was
dating a guy, I think I've told you the story.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
We went to Florida. We got to Florida. We were.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
We were in the hotel room and he brought his
computer and it was like a sweet we had. So
we had like a small kitchenette in a dining room
and a living room and a bedroom and he set
up his computer in the dining room. Susan, he never
left the hotel room. I mean it was I still
(33:10):
with him. It's like I just wanted to be on
his computer.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (33:15):
He refuses to plan any part of the trip and
just goes with the flow. That's perfectly fine with me.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
So that's so funny. You said that you like to
plan trips. Do I? No, I don't. I will go
with the flow, girl.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
But is it a deal breaker if you won't plan it?
Speaker 2 (33:33):
No?
Speaker 1 (33:34):
No, But I'm saying I love to go on a
trip and have someone plan it, because, as I've said
to you, I'm just so grateful to be wherever it
is that I'm happy like I'm doing whatever I'm doing.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
It's not something I would do at home.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
So like our cruise, de grease speaking of we need
to get tickets for the Acropolis?
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Okay, I got it, just okay, all right?
Speaker 1 (34:00):
He makes you take three different buses instead of calling
a cab to save money.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Sal breaker.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Yeah, I was about to say, Susan or I, we're
not getting on a bus and we're certainly not taking
three buses.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
It is absolutely no good.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
He jokes about proposing in every romantic setting with no
intentions of actually doing it, asshole.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Can I tell you? Can I tell you? See? All
these things have happened to us.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
My daughter when she got engaged, she would go hiking
with her now husband, and Johnny would bend down all
the time walking with the dog, and she thought, oh,
this is it. He's going to propose. He's going to propose.
He did it like six times on different hikes. When
he finally got down on one knee, she didn't believe him.
She thought, here he goes again. So yeah, I mean
(34:54):
he actually I think that was cruel.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
But I don't know. How would you do if fred
he did that.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
I don't think Frederick would do that, but I don't
think it's a joke. No, I would have a problem
with that.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Yeah, I would have a problem with that.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Yeah, definitely.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
All right, No matter what plans are in place, I
will not get out of bed before ten am.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
That would be annoying. But some people like to sleep in.
It depends on their work schedule.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
But if there's a plan in place and we have
to be somewhere and he refuses to get up till ten,
that means he's not ready till eleven thirty.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
No, Susan, the sss blank. Shower and shave men are showers.
They're in and out. They don't need an hour and half.
That's you.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
You need coffee?
Speaker 3 (35:47):
I mean, come on, all right.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
He keeps trying to hang out with other couples every
single day of your trip. See, I like people, I
don't mind, but not every day.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Well, I think it's don't you think if if you're
never alone together, I think that's a.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Kind of could be a red flag to me.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
Actually right, yeah, I mean I mean that's during the day,
so maybe when they go at night they're alone.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
Then I don't know. That means like he doesn't just
enjoy your company. That's how you start feeling he has
to have others.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
So although I'm all about other people, like like.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
We both are, but you don't want to be with
other people all the time, if.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
You know what I'm realizing, Susan, you know what I'm realizing,
what like all these questions now, like we're on opposite
sides of the table, then whatever you want to call it,
Like you can say, well, yeah, it doesn't really it
doesn't have anything to do with me because I have
Frederick and I'm in love and I'm going, well, if
I had a boyfriend, it's not fair.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
Wait did you or did you not?
Speaker 4 (36:59):
But can or put you on the spot for Oh god,
did you or did you not? Text my boyfriend and
tell him we're coming out with.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
The news today I did. And what was his response?
Speaker 2 (37:12):
So you got to know Frederic. He's such a nice guy,
I said.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
I texted him and I said, Frederick, Susan and I
were out in her relationship today, so it's all over.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
You're now official. And he sent me a dancing emoji.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
Of a guy doing a happy dance like that's all
he had to say, Like it transcends language. We didn't
need to write English or French. He's so excited.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
So you know what I texted him too.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
He said, what matters is what you want, my love.
Do what you want for the best.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
I love you.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
What you want is for the best.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
Whatever I want, whatever you want.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
I mean, I died and.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Went to heaven. There's got to be something.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
Can we just clone him? Please listen? Could you listen?
Here's the deal. If I go to Paradise, I want
you to round up. Tell him he's got so much
time to find a guy, send him to Paradise.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
Actually, his best buddy, Julian is looking for somebody. However,
the age gap is way too much.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
He's too young.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
I know well, says you. Who's standing guy? Fourteen years young?
Speaker 3 (38:21):
He's forty?
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Oh forty?
Speaker 1 (38:24):
Yeah, no, I have a son who's forty no, exactly
exactly all right. Well, while Susan is falling in love,
while Susan is planning her next trip, and believe you me,
there is one. Susan is single handedly keeping American Airlines
in business.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
She gets more now.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
The way, Susan, how's Frederic? You're going back frontother visit,
aren't you? While you're doing that? Kathy is just praying,
hoping and waiting for mister Wright to come into her life.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
And let's everybody out there see a special thought. Put
it out to the universe that Kathy finds her person.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
Please please, that would be so okay, Well, that is
going to be it for today.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Thank you to all of our listeners.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
Susan, thank you and Frederick, but thank you for letting
the world know how happy you are. I wish everyone
could see your face and your personality because you can't
stop smiling. And I love to see my good friend
beautiful feeling.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
It really is.
