Speaker 1 (00:04):
Dear wonderful, beautiful listeners. It's me Janet, Hello from the
Palisades here in Los Angeles where the fires happened. I
got an airbnb here because I'm having a writing camp,
my first writing camp of the year, for my new
(00:25):
music that's coming out. And we chose this place because
not only is it in my hometown in LA but
because it's near the ocean. But most importantly, I chose
this location because we want to make beauty out of ashes,
a place that suffered so much loss, so much, through
(00:51):
so much pain, so many tears. We want to be
able to bring joy into this space and into this location,
into this area, raise a freakqu andcy and bring beauty
here and bring healing and community and know that even
in the midst of darkness, something beautiful can come out
(01:16):
of the situation, kind of like the rose that grew
through the concrete sort of thing. Kind of like that.
Driving up here was very heavy because I did see
homes that were lost completely and I can't even begin
to imagine, which prompted me to pray and to pray
(01:40):
for people that I don't even know. But I am
happy to be here. I'm happy to be surrounded by
amazing writers. I'll probably walk in right now into the
house so you guys can say hello, or they can
say hello to you. Guys. It's a beautiful day. The
birds are chirping. The wind feels so nice right now,
(02:02):
blowing through my hair. It feels caressing my cheeks. I'm
wearing a leopard print bandana because I didn't wash my
hair today. I washed my hair every four days. And
I'm wearing a jersey that's yellow and green and it
has a big sun in the front of it and
(02:25):
a horse. Actually it's not a horse, it's a unicorn.
And then my shirt, my shirt says, what does my
shirt say? Babe? What does my shirt say? I forgot
say true to your north Star? Oh okay, thank you,
stay true to your north star. Thank you. That's our
(02:45):
amazing chef. She's at Athena and she's cooking up a
storm here for all of us. I said, you know what,
I'm gonna treat these people good. I want them to
feel appreciated and loved. And we're creating, guys, we're creating
new music for you. And I just wanted to say
hello and tell you what I was thinking and feeling
and just to remind you that I know we all
(03:06):
go through tough moments, dark moments, moments of pain and
grief and loss. But I always tell you, guys, we
have to keep our eye on the prize, keep our
eye on the light at the end of the tunnel
because it's there because there is hope, and hope is
(03:28):
hold on pain And Okay, guys, I love you, have
a beautiful day. Go on, continue with your beautiful day.
Make sure to say a prayer, hydrate, wear your seatbelt
and that's all. Sincerely, Jinnee
