Speaker 1 (00:01):
President Donald Trump signed a proclamation reinstating a travel band
that restricts entry into the United States for citizens of
twelve countries. Why the present signing national security concerns now.
The policy is set to take effect very quickly on
June the ninth. There are twelve countries that are listed,

(00:22):
and the President had this to say about it is
he announced it from the Oval Office.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
The recent terror attack in Boulder, Colorado has underscored the
extreme dangers posed to our country by the entry of
foreign nationals who are not properly vetted, as well as
those who come here as temporary visitors and overstay their visas.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
We don't want them.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
In the twenty first century, we've seen one terror attack
after another carried out by foreign visa overstairs from dangerous
places all over the world, and thanks to Biden's open
door policies, today there are and millions of these illegals
who should not be in our country. In my first term,
my powerful travel restrictions were one of our most successful policies,

(01:10):
and they were a key part of preventing major foreign
terror attacks on American soil. We will not let what
happened in Europe happen to America. That's why, on my
first day back in office, I directed the Secretary of
State to perform a security review of high risk regions
and make recommendations for where restrictions should be imposed. Among

(01:34):
the national security threats their analysis considered are the large
scale presence of terrorists, failure to cooperate on visa security,
inability to verify travelers' identities, inadequate record keeping of criminal histories,
and persistently high rates of illegal visa overstays, and other things.

(01:59):
Very simply can not have open migration from any country
where we cannot safely and reliably vet and screen those
who seek to enter the United States. That is why
today I am signing a new executive order placing travel
restrictions on countries including Yemen, Somalia, Haiti, Libya, and numerous others.

(02:22):
The strength of the restrictions we're applying depends on the
severity of the threat posts. The list is subject to
revision based on whether material improvements are made, and likewise,
new countries can be added as threats everge around the world.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
But we will not.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Allow people to enter our country who wish to do
us harm, and nothing will stop us from keeping America
saying thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
The President going through that list again, Afghanistan, Burma, Chad,
the Republic of the Congo, Heecreatorial Guinea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan,
and Yemen. There are also partial restrictions on seven different
countries Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, turs Megastan, and Venezuela.

(03:16):
The partial restrictions involve limitations on immigrant and certain non
immigrant visas, but some temporary visas may still be granted
with those quote partial restrictions on the seven countries I
just listed now, as President Trump stated, the ban aims
to protect the United States from individuals who may pose
threats to national security, citing concerns over terrorism, inadequate vetting processes,

(03:42):
and high visa overstay rates in the US. He referenced
a recent attack in Boulder allegedly perpetrated by an Egyptian
national and a catalyst for the new policy.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Now.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
The administration also pointed two deficiencies and information and identity
management protocols and affected countries which hinder effective screening and
vetting of travelers. The travel band has already faced criticism
don't worry from the left is they will do anything
to stand up for illegal immigrants and even those that

(04:16):
are committing atrostes against Americans. It is very clear there's
two ways of thinking on this issue. The conservative way,
the Trump way, is to protect American citizens, and the
left is to advocate and protect the illegal immigrants, even
those that are on terrorists watch lists. Now Donald Trump
isn't the only one saying that this is exactly what

(04:38):
needed to happen. Senator Tom Cotton, a man that served
as country overseas in many parts of the world where
these travel bans are happening, went on Fox and Friends
and had this to say.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
So, President Trump banning travel from twelve countries and placing
restrictions on seven others in the wake of national security
concerns related to the Boulder terror attack.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
The strength of the restriction, as we're applying, depends on
the severity of the threat post The list is subject
to revision based on whether material improvements are made, and likewise,
new countries can be added as threats emerge around the world.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
And in a separate proclamation, he moved to officially block
new foreign students from getting visas to attend Harvard University
urging his administrator to consider revoking current visas as well.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
And keep in mind is over one hundred thousand Chinese
students here.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Here to discuss is Arkansas Center Center and Harvard grad Center.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Tom Cotton the Center.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
First off, on the ban of those nations, how do
you feel about it?

Speaker 6 (05:38):
I command the President for implementing this badly needed and
overdue ban on countries where we really can't vet anyone.
Countries have a history of known violence and terrorism. Take
for instance, Haiti and Somalia. You have gang violence that
is basically controlling all of Haiti. You have Islamic terrorism
across Somalia, and what does it even mean to someone

(06:00):
from those countries. There's no governing institutions there that can
do background checks. This has long been a lie from
the left wing about how we're going to do background
checks on illegal immigrants or people coming from dangerous countries.
It's simply not possible. I mean, consider what we do
for young Americans who want to go in the military
or the law enforcement. You know, they have to say

(06:21):
where they've lived. You call up the police departments, you
call the state police, You do background checks, You make
sure they're suited for the job. There are no institutions
in many of these countries where you can do these things.
So this is another common sense victory for President Trump
and America Safety.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
Center Congressman Dan Goldman says, it's because they're not white,
that's why Trump is looking to ban and limit them.

Speaker 6 (06:43):
No, it's because they're dangerous and they could get us killed.
We saw over the weekend in Boulder, Colorado, the danger
of having foreign nationals coming into this country without being
properly vetted. In many countries they can't be properly vetted.
We shouldn't allow people in from those countries if they're
going to pose a risk Americans.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
So one thing is for sure on this travel band,
the left is going to tell you that this is
racist and bigoted, and this is banning people based on
the color of their skin that are going to play
the race card, So be ready for it. The second
thing is this is absolutely the right thing to do
by the President of the United States of America. We've

(07:21):
actually had travel bands on these countries before, and I'm
telling you this is what the left and the media
are going to do.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
They're going to say that this is racist.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
What the President's clearly trying to do is protect American
citizens and also make sure that there is proper vetting.
There is not proper vetting for many of the countries
that were listed at all. We don't know exactly what
these people may have done in their countries before they're
coming to America. We should know a lot more before

(07:51):
we allow them in. And then there's the third aspect
of this. Many of the people that come from these
countries deliberately overstay. They're welcome in the US, they overstay
their visas. So why would we keep giving visas out
to people from certain countries that abuse the system the
way that it's being abused. You look at all of

(08:12):
this and what the President is simply trying to do
is make sure that we don't have more of the
situations that we just had in Colorado. We also have
another reason why the travel band should be put in
place and you should support it, and that is this,
we have far too many people in this country illegally
right now. We have far too many people from many

(08:33):
of these nations that we're talking about that are in
this country that are overstaying their visas right now. We
must clean up the mess in this country. Instead of
bringing in more people, we have to clean up our
mess that we allowed to happen under the last administration.
There are millions and millions of illegal immigrants in this country.

(08:57):
Many of them are three to our national security. We
have ICE that is working around the clock to try
to take the worst of them out of this country
and to port them. We have a broken system, even
with a border now that's very secure. We must fix
the problem before we allow so many more people to

(09:20):
keep coming in at a high rate of visa overstay.
So I got to say this is a smart move
by the president. I actually think this is something that's overdue.
It's sad that it took the terrorist attack in Colorado
to get us to the point we could do this again.
But I'm glad that we're doing it now. And for

(09:40):
anyone that criticized the President for doing this, I got
to ask you the question, whose side are you on
the safety of the American people are the side of
the terrorists that are coming into this country and exploiting
our system. The Trump administration is very upset right now
with many American universities who are allowing anti Semitism to

(10:02):
explode on college campuses. Colombia is a perfect example of this,
where a protester and self proclaimed Jew hater, we now
have learned, had direct links to Hamas Terra cell. This
coming from disturbing phone records as the DOJ is.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Revealing all of this.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
A Jew hater quote unquote who protested against Israel on
Columbia University's campus and contemplated, we now have learned setting
a student on fire allegedly had a direct link to
the Hamas Deadly al Casombrigade militant group. The post is
now revealing the man is now a wedding trial after

(10:45):
being indicted on three federal hate crimes against Jewish people.
He was a member of a chat group that received
regular updates from the terrorist organization as well, and the
accusation is the first evidence of an adjutator receiving information
directly from Hamas and taking action during protests on the

(11:07):
University of Columbia campus.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Now the individual was twenty.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
I want to be clear he was not a Columbia student,
but he was on the campus protesting. He frequently wore
the green headband used by Hamas Terras and boasted to
friends about having relatives overseas who were actually a part
of the terror group. This all coming from the DOJ
court filing. While on Columbia's campus during protests in April

(11:37):
of last year, the individual allegedly Texas palse saying he
lit a flare and considered lighting someone on fire, but
that there was quote too many people around him to
take on otherwise he would have hurt them. A Columbia
University said it has quote no record of the man
being on campus and wanted to quote be clear that

(11:57):
this individual is not affiliated with our universe in any way.
All right, so why did you allow him to protest
on your campus? The university added that the school quote
strongly condemns anti Semitism and violence, and we are horrified
by the violence and hate crimes described in the incident. Well,
you can say that all you want, but the reality

(12:18):
is Columbia University has allowed this hate to grow on
its campus, which brings me to the second part of
the story. The Trump administration is now escalating pressure on Colombia,
as the Education Department is questioning the university's accreditation altogether.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Here's more of the story from Fox News.

Speaker 7 (12:42):
The Trump administration is not backing down as it continues
its crackdown on campus anti semitism. The State Department is
vowing to investigate the visa status of anti Israel protesters
who were arrested after storming the school library this week.

Speaker 8 (12:57):
The nature of our promise that people who are in
this country with a visa ange laws or affect the
nature of what's important to our country when it comes
to our foreign policy and national security, will be acted
on in that regard. And yes, he said it, and
I believe them, and that's the word you can take
for it.

Speaker 7 (13:18):
Let's bring in Ellie Kohanum, senior fellow at the Independent
Women's Forum and former US Deputy Special Envoy to combat
anti Semitism. Ellie, this turmoil at Columbia has been going
on for quite a while now.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
How would you.

Speaker 7 (13:32):
Assess the administration, the Columbia administration's efforts to try to
squelch anti Semitism on campus?

Speaker 4 (13:42):
John, We are now nineteen months into this despicable, violent
and pro terror movement that's taking place all across our campus.
Is that at Columbia University, which is my own shameful
alma mater, And I would tell you that, yes, what
we saw at Butler Library was a midly eighty arrests
were made. And any movement that we're seeing that's progress

(14:04):
towards shutting down this anti Semitic movement is because there's
a new sheriff in town. Because we've got President Donald J.
Trump back in the White House and his administration has
taken forceful steps as he promised us on the campaign trail.
So what we are seeing right now is, yes, the
promise that there are foreign elements in our country that
are here to undermine our society, and so foreign students

(14:27):
who are here on visa, they will be deported for
supporting a pro terror movement on our soil. They are
not welcome here, as Secretary Ruby on the President have said.

Speaker 9 (14:38):
But the other element.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Here is, of course, the power of the purse. And
what we're seeing is a Trump administration letting the universities
know that they will be cutting federal funds. In the
case of Columbia University that's already four hundred million dollars.
If they are unnoticed that they they are losing. And
there are talks taking place with Columbia University between the
Trump administration and the university. And so I think the

(15:02):
only reason we're seeing some progress at Columbia is because
they understand that they are about to lose not only
four hundred million dollars in federal grant, but also they
have the possibility of losing billions of dollars in federal funding.

Speaker 7 (15:16):
John Congresswoman Elise Stephanic says that schools like Columbia just
aren't paying attention here listen to what she has to say.

Speaker 10 (15:26):
And the fact that these universities have allowed that to
perpetuate shows that they have been incapable of showing strong
leadership to allow safety for students, and they've allowed this
anti semitism to continue to rise. The US taxpayers do
not want their dollars to prop up institutions that are
unsafe for Jewish students, and that has been the case
at places like Columbia.

Speaker 7 (15:47):
Would you agree with what the congresswoman has to say?
You said, you yourself are a Columbia.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
Graduate, exactly right. Well, I couldn't agree with Representative Stephonic. More,
the American taxpayer is not interested in funding universities that
have become hotbeds of anti Semitism and frankly anti Americanism.
The student group that organized this Butler Library Takeover has
issued manifestos where they are literally calling for violence and

(16:14):
literally supporting terror movements that the United States has designated
as foreign terrorist organizations. And so we cannot have any
tolerance for this, for this violent movement, everything that we're
seeing stands against American values. And I want to tell
you something, John, Ironically, May is Jewish American Heritage Month.

(16:36):
President Trump issued a proclamation back in May twenty noting
the month and celebrating Jewish Americans, and so I really
encourage everyone to take a look at Jewish American Heritage
dot org learn about how Jewish Americans have contributed to
our country and have helped to make our country a
great place for all of our citizens. But again, you know,

(16:59):
we're going to see the true administration, I think, continue
to take.

Speaker 9 (17:02):
Very forceful action hold.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
The universities accountable. In the case of Columbia, not only
is it the risk of students, the foreign students being deported,
the risk of losing federal funding, but also the administration
has told Columbia they want to put the Middle East
Department under receivership, which is very bold action and necessary
because what we're finding out from students themselves, is that

(17:26):
in the classroom they are actually being indoctrinated to hate
America and to hate the Jewish state of Israel. And
so all of this action is very welcomed, I think
by all Americans who want to finally see an end
to this anti Semitism.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
One thing's for sure, the Trump administration isn't screwing around
with anti Semitism on college campuses, and they're going to
make it hurt for universities that refuse to rein it
in Now, the Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights
has sent an official notice to the crediting body that
audience Columbia University, notifying that the Ivy League school is

(18:06):
currently failing to meet its standards for accreditation. The Middle
States Commission on Higher Education, which is a recognized accredit
body for degree granting higher education institutions across the Mid Atlantic,
ensures that its members schools such as Columbia meet established
standards of academic quality, integrity, institutional effectiveness, and more well.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
They are one of.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Several accrediting institutions across the country that the Department of
Education deems reliable. Now, only institutions accredited by the Department
of Education recognize that creditors are eligible to participate in
Title nine federal financial aid programs such as PEL grants

(18:51):
and federal work study or student loan programs as well.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
So this notice is.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Marking the latest escalation that Trump Administration's efforts to hold
Colombia accountable for number one, failing to tamp down anti
semitism on its campuses. And they're making it clear you
want to be investigated, fine, we will do it. They
launched an investigation to Colombia in February, and the Trump

(19:19):
administration opted to cancel four hundred million and federal grants
over the university's failure to protect Jewish students from anti
Semitic harassment.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
And that is a direct quote now.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Subsequently, Colombia agreed to make changes, they claim in an
effort to prevent funds from being canceled. The school quote
took steps to overhaul its policies around protests, around safety
and security, while also reorganizing its Middle Eastern Studies department.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Now.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
The changes also include adopting a new campus wide definition
of anti semitism. And the fact that that we're even
having to to do this in twenty twenty five is
just totally insane now. Also last month, Colombia said it
would be cutting around one hundred and eighty staff members
in an effort to preserve the university's financial flexibility. So

(20:13):
you wonder how blow to these campuses are and how
much money they're wasting of your tax dollars. That should
tell you also everything you need to know. So well
done to the Trump administration for doing this. They're not
holding back and they're stopping anti Semitism, especially when your
tax dollars are going to these universities that have been

(20:33):
looking the other way for far too long. The violent
attack that occurred during that peaceful demonstration Boulder, Colorado organized
by the group Run for Their Lives, which advocates for
the release of Israeli hostages that are being held to
this day in Gaza, we now know a lot more

(20:55):
about the man who is the terrorist that committed this attack.
The assailant has been identified as a forty five year
old Muhammad Solomon. He used a makeshift flamethrower in molotov
cocktails to target the seniors that were participating in the
weekly event. He injured eight individuals, ages between fifty two

(21:20):
and eighty eight. One of the victims, is a Holocaust survivor,
and at least one person at this moment remains in
critical condition. Soliman is an Egyptian national residing in Colorado Springs.
We now know that he entered the US on a

(21:40):
B two tourist visa in August of twenty twenty two
under the Biden Harrish regime that expired in February of
twenty twenty three. He then applied for asylum in September,
and his application was still penning at the time of
the attack. Authorities reported that so had been living in

(22:01):
the country illegally, and that is part of the story
that the media doesn't want to talk about now. According
to these new court documents, Solomon admitted number one to
planning the attack for over a year while he was
claiming asylum and here illegally. He said he was motivated

(22:22):
by extremists anti Zionist sentiments. He expressed a desire to
quote kill all Zionist people, in other words, all the Jews,
and showed no remorse, stating he would do it again.
Solomon had researched how to make the cocktails on YouTube
and initially intended to use a firearm, but was unable

(22:43):
to purchase one due to his immigration status. Again, he's
an illegal immigrant. During the attack at the Pearl Street Mall,
the man dressed as a gardener shouted Free Palestine and
other anti israel slogans as he threw the scendiary devices
into the crowd of elderly people. Police recovered at least

(23:05):
fourteen unlt mama Toov cocktails and a gasline filled weed
sprayer at the scene as a flamethrower as well. White
House Press segretary going on Fox News channel to say.

Speaker 11 (23:20):
This, well, FBI Director Cash Patel is absolutely right, and
the President just put out a very strong statement condemning
this attack. This terrorist came into our country under the
previous administration. Joe Biden's administration foolishly gave him a tourist
visa and that allowed him to unlawfully remain in our country.
This individual should have been deported, instead, he was welcomed

(23:43):
here and now, three years later after coming to this
country under Joe Biden's administration, he is lighting Jewish people
on fire who were simply trying to peacefully pay respect
to the hostages in Israel. This absolutely is an act
of targeted terrorism. The FBI and the Department of Justice
are investigating it as such, and the President is going

(24:05):
to ensure that this individual is held to the fullest
extent of the law. And not just this individual, but
any individual, especially illegal criminals, who engage in acts of terrorism,
will be held accountable under this president.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Now, the White House Press here, Terry, I couldn't agree
with her more in what she said there, and I'm
going to play more of what she also said at
a press conference earlier in a moment, but let me
tell you more about the charges. So, Ammon has been
charged with multiple offenses now, including federal hate crimes and
attempted murder. He's currently in custody with a bond set
at ten million. The FBI is treating the incident as

(24:39):
a targeted act of terrorism, and investigations are quote ongoing
to determine any potential extremist affiliations. Now, the attack has
also drawn widespread condemnation from public officials and community leaders,
highlighting concerns over rising anti Semitic violence and broader implications

(24:59):
of idea logical extremism in the United States of America.
Which brings me back to the White House Press secretary
and what she said about what the last administration has done.

Speaker 9 (25:11):
Is there concern in.

Speaker 10 (25:12):
The administration that there could possibly be some sleeper sales
here in the United States?

Speaker 9 (25:17):
What type of pattern is the administration looking at as
far as terror sales.

Speaker 11 (25:22):
Well, there's certainly a concern that the previous administration allowed
way too many terrorists and illegal immigrants into the interior
of our country. And that's why the Department of Homeland
Security is working over time to arrest, detain, and support
as many illegal criminals and terrorists that we can in
the United States of America, and any act of violence
will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
There are certainly a concern that the previous administration allowed
way too many Notice she didn't say legal immigrants, she
said way too many terrorists into the interior of our country.
She is distinguishing a difference between people that were illegal
immigrants that were let in and actual terrorists that were
let in.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
The White House.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Presidenty also speaking directly to Jewish people in this country
as well, what.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Can you say to the Jewish community today to ensure
that the White House is doing everything I can and
keep up safe after the horrific attack in Boulder, and
also the two Israeli Empathy staff.

Speaker 9 (26:18):
Who were targeted just last week here in our nation's capital.

Speaker 11 (26:21):
Yeah, we have seen two horrific cases of anti Semitic
violence in our country in the last two weeks and
it is unacceptable.

Speaker 9 (26:29):
To this President and this White House, and.

Speaker 11 (26:31):
Rest assured to all Jewish Americans across our great country.
This President has your back and he's not going to
allow anyone.

Speaker 9 (26:38):
To take part in violent terrorism.

Speaker 11 (26:41):
It's acts of terrorism in our country and that's what
this case in Boulder, Colorado is being investigated. As kudos
to our FBI Director Cash Pattel for immediately calling this
a targeted terrorist attack.

Speaker 9 (26:53):
That's clearly what it was.

Speaker 11 (26:54):
But I'd also like to point out that this administration
has done more than any administration and to curb this
violence and to curb a legal immigration. We secured our
border in record time, but we're also tightening up our
visa process and our legal immigration process.

Speaker 9 (27:10):
And we know that this individual, this terrorist.

Speaker 11 (27:13):
Was allowed into this country by the previous administration, was
foolishly given a tourism visa and then was illegally allowed
to stay. These individuals are going to be deported and
We're not going to tolerate such violence in our country.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
We're not going to tolerate such violence in our country.
This is an act of terrorism now. The White House
Press Secretary also making it clear that the present is
not going to stand by and allow things like this
to happen. This is terrorism in our country. Under the

(27:46):
previous administration, Joe Biden administration foolishly gave a tourist visa
to a man and allowed him to remain unlawfully in
our country. This individual should have been deported instead ed
they welcomed him here and gave him a work visa.
You put all of this together, and it is abundantly

(28:08):
clear that the last administration knew what they were doing.
They knew it, folks. They knew they were letting in
people that were going to be terrorists. There's a real
concern now how many terrorists are in this country. This
is exactly why the President of the United States of
America said it this way in his post on social media, saying, quote,
yesterday's horrific attack in Boulder, Colorado will not be tolerated

(28:32):
in the United States of America. He came in through
Biden's ridiculous open border policy, which has hurt our country
so badly, he must go out. Under Trump policy, acts
of terrorism will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of
the law. This is yet another example of why we
must keep our border secure and deport illegal anti American

(28:54):
radicals from our homeland. My heart goes out to the
victims of this terrible tragedy and the great people of Boulder, Colorado.
There are two different thinkings in this country right now.
One of them is the way that it was just described. Okay,
I want to be clear of a president who's saying
we're not tilerating this. The other is, we don't care
who comes in this country as long as we fundamentally
