sure a lot of you out there if you have

(02:12):
a caught yesterday's show live or archived, maybe a little
surprised we're here that one. Yeah, We're back well, it
kind of harkened back to Look, we we all are
so very very thankful for the grace and mercy of
the one and only living God, because without it, we'd
all be doomed, old boy, would we? And uh? And
we all can remember times where you just looked around

(02:36):
there was just a mess. Are you? You looked up
and maybe you were talking to people in law enforcement
and what and you and remember the statement, I don't know, man,
it just kind of got out of hand. Yeah, it
just it just before I knew it. It got out of hand.
And uh, and yesterday's show got out of hand, and
it's here we are in the in the aftermath.

Speaker 7 (02:56):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
We we've learned from yesterday. A lot of you are
You're not helpful, A lot of you because kind of
like the vox seats yesterday who watched it happen when
it was over, really they were applauding and they gave
us a standing Oh and I looked at them, I said,
y'all are not helping. No, y'all are not helping. So well,

(03:21):
I will say this one of the things that we
hoped to do. And if you were if you went
back to if you've ever seen Tales from the Camp
House Episode one on our YouTube channel. Episode one took
you inside these I mean the inner sanctum of Camp House,
where you saw us discussing this new adventure called The

(03:41):
Rick Burgess Show with Speedy, Greg Adler and Old Number One,
and we we were talking about we wanted to create
in this stage of our lives together. We wanted the
type of show that you would be walking around anticipating
the next show thinking, there's no I think what might happen?
I think we're there, guys. Uh, you know we we

(04:04):
were there and you know that too. Yesterday there was
a point yesterday where even I did not know what
was gonna happen. And that's probably not the best, you know,
to have a little control, Yeah, but you know, you
know that feeling when you're on a roller coaster and
you're like, I'm not in control of this at all,
but I'm kind of digging, just trying to keep it

(04:24):
all kind of fun. But really it's up to somebody
else to stop this thing, because I can't stop it.

Speaker 8 (04:30):
If everybody in the car is feeling the same, it's
got to be one adult.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Yeah, the one one.

Speaker 9 (04:37):
Yesterday, it was just a weird day, you know. It
was I saw pass them, I saw pass them as
big as a as a great dane in my backyard yesterday,
walking in the daylight like it was just yesterday. It
was just a weird day.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
You couldn't even go home with that it being weird.

Speaker 9 (04:53):
It was, I'm like, that's as big as my neighbor's dog.

Speaker 10 (04:57):
Day.

Speaker 9 (04:58):
It was daytime looking at me saying.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
I'm hungry, walking through my arm, unafraid, unconcerned about you.

Speaker 9 (05:05):
What is today? It was a weird day.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Yesterday, It really was. I don't know what it was.
It was Earth Day is what it was. What it was,
and we celebrated it. Think about that.

Speaker 8 (05:15):
This is going to drive you crazy being in the
business as long as you have. There was a station
in San Francisco on Earth Day. It played natural sounds
of Earth for twenty four hours straight straight. Just that
that sound. That sound, just anything and everybody will hearing
there nothing, just not thinking the shark.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
My first thought was almost used one for hours. I
almost said, almost said to you what Gary said to
the collar, Yeah exactly, let's not repeat that. No, we
will not have a tall Gary after it. But anyway,
well it was just a reaction, gave it a muscle memory.
It was I did, I said, Gary, did you well?
I mean that guy was he just he just goaded me.

(05:59):
And I mean I I'd had enough of what he
was saying. I said, well, we're all clear on that.
Why did you do that on the air. I don't know.
I just I told you, I just hang out with
you and I forget sometimes, you know, yeah, you forgot. Yeah,
And I'm like, of course Gary was offended. He said
to Kidna hemmed up with a hand, you couldn't get it.

Speaker 8 (06:19):
Well, he disagrees, because if he has experienced it, yeah,
or creek or offence, The question is.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
The question is after it was over, and I congratulate
this person, which one of Gary's friends or acquaintances. Was
that person? Oh yeah, because that was what you were doing.
That was somebody who knew what they were doing. They
knew how to get to Geary new the buttons by
saying he couldn't bring a turkey across the creek or
a fence line or away from a hen.

Speaker 11 (06:42):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Gary disagreed, Yes, he did, Yes, he did so. The
I also he so, by the way, I've got the
sound of w a see k L W K A
A L. Are you going to play back to the
San Francisco station? Are you about to play for me.

Speaker 8 (07:03):
In station for twenty four hours of nature sounds for
four hours?

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Don't don't lose sight?

Speaker 12 (07:08):
How long that is?

Speaker 8 (07:09):
Yeah? Rick, pot my channel. This is this is what
you hear if you tuned in.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
All day, all day, twenty four hours. That's not very
pleasant at all? Does that too pleasant?

Speaker 7 (07:24):
No?

Speaker 13 (07:24):
No?

Speaker 3 (07:25):
I mean you could have got some nature sounds that
were pleasant. This isn't one of them. How about a
nice breeze or they I'd rather hear, crick, how about
the two? And then afore, how about the ocean? Ocean,
the ocean or the golf? I mean just rolling in day? Yeah?
So I know a little sleathing bird. The bird. The
bird they had was like kind of in a register

(07:46):
that was irritating.

Speaker 9 (07:48):
Was it laying agric you could do you do your
do your hour?

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Do your owl? Oh that's the best owl I've ever had?
Is that's such a good good? Who cooks for you?
Why not have that? And you know, just ever now
and then let it come, man, don't don't constantly play
it for twenty four Don't just can you imagine every
time you turned it on your radio that was on?

Speaker 14 (08:10):
No.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
I mean if I walked outside my back, the back
of my house and had to hear even naturally, you
know what I would have walked around? You know what
I'd have done. I might have done the school bus lady.
I might have walked out on my on my deck
and said, y'all cut it out.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
I can't even hear myself.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Thinking yes, while while beating the top of the bus, yes,
with a stick, with a stick. Such a different era
it was. She likes somebody's grandma too, but it produced
such a tougher product. I tell you what we did.
We shut up, Yes we did.

Speaker 9 (08:39):
And now that I'm older, I know exactly what she
means by she cannot hear her self think, thinking, thinking, thinking.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
I can't hear my ada. Please don't ever miss when
we tell you that story. She was banging on the
metal roof of the school bus with a with a
like a walking tall stick, and she looked just like
a regular grandmother, even had a dress. Song all drove
her of that. Yeah, it was a different time, it
was a different error. We'll be back, okay. A lot

(09:10):
to discuss today, and she ran over my dog. Yes
she did.

Speaker 9 (09:13):
Are you serious?

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Oh yeah, that's the one.

Speaker 9 (09:16):
That's the one.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
That's the one. He was in the bud saw it
and had to stay in the bud and think about it.
It's a broken market.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
All right, we're back. Thanks you for being with us
today on a brand new Rick Burgess Show. The gang
all here and it. We'll work through more stories today,
a lot going on Wednesday. Bible studies back today for
those of you that participated in and that job chapter ten. Boy,
this study has garnered a lot of conversation, a lot
of emails, a lot of questions. So Job ten today,

(10:09):
noon Central, one o'clock Eastern on our YouTube channel. If
you go to Rick burgesshow dot com and you click
right there on watch live. You can catch it live
at our subscribe and you'll get an alert when we
go live on Wednesdays. And if you can't catch it live,
the archive is on our YouTube channel and podcast archives
soon after. So a couple of things we can talk about.

(10:32):
I don't know that this video surveillance is available to
everybody yet. We don't think it.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Is, but it is secret.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
It just says it in the story. Now, we didn't
get to this yesterday. Probably maybe we should have, but
we didn't get to this yesterday. You may or may
not know that Christy nomes purse was stolen while she
was having dinner in Washington, d C. They now have
looked back. Now keep in mind, that's a pretty big

(10:59):
deal because you know, she's she's pretty high ranking. They're
in the administration. Uh, And now they are looking at
the video surveillance footage from the restaurant and they're saying that,
you know, the way that her purse was stolen was
actually quite simple. And look, don't want to be don't

(11:20):
want to pile on. Don't want to pile on secret service.
Y'are not having the best pr here the last few years. Yeah,
she's got secret service with her too. You would think
stealing Christy Nolmes or anyone who was, you know, high
ranking in any administration, that if they have secret service

(11:40):
with them, stealing their purse would be difficult. Yeah, I
would think, But but it wasn't. The criminals set down
at an empty table next to Nome and her family
at the Capitol Burger, wearing only dark clothing. He then
uses his left foot to drag and slide the bag
into his possession and away from Nome. The suspect then

(12:03):
takes a look around the restaurant, picks up the big
I mean the bag that's a miss sprint, picks up
the bag and puts it under his jacket and bolts.
Nome had no idea anything had even happened until they
rose from the table and she saw that her Gucci
purse was gone. Now you think to yourself, hey, Gucci
perch perse, that's not the problem. I mean, there's a

(12:26):
lot of expensive purses out there. It's what's inside the purse.

Speaker 8 (12:29):
Yeah, and that that would be all of her identification. Yeah,
she had, she had her driver's license, medication apartment keys, passport,
DHS access badge, that's a big one makeup bag, some
blank checks, and three thousand in cash.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Three thousand in cash. YEP carries that kind of cash
these days.

Speaker 8 (12:50):
Well, here's the deal too, is well, there's a couple
of things. First of all, if you're in Washington, d C.
The crime rate and what goes on there, this just
could just another one of these, uh you know, situations
where somebody's purse is snatched or just theft in general.
But but they're launching an investigation into going, Okay, this
is a this is a cabinet official. How did somebody

(13:13):
get that close to her? If they if they wanted
to plan something else, they could yeah? Yeah, and so
is this is this some type of orchestrated crime spree
towards her or a cabinet official or just just some
random person that grabbed a purse.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
I don't know the level of security that her position
calls for. I mean, my point is, though, the question is, yeah,
this guy was there to still a purse, but what
if he'd been there to do something else? He was
he was in positioned close to her to where he
could pull a foot over there, and and and and
drag her purse over to him nobody.

Speaker 9 (13:49):
It's funny to use the term security because Christy Noman
is the United States Secretary of Homeland Security. Correct.

Speaker 8 (13:56):
Yes, Yeah, there's a lot of sadly comedy there that
she the director of Homeland Security and has her purse
stolen while while having someone watch over her.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
That's a hey, pretty pretty high leg perse snatching. You
got to sit right next to me, actually, yeah, y'all,
y'all walk that out perfectly. I mean, per snatching happens,
that's not the issue. Uh, it's bad. But the issue
is this person should have enough security you can't snatch
their purse. Yeah right, yeah, and so what as y'all said,

(14:25):
what if I want to do more than snatch the purse.
It's bad that the purse got snatched because there's a
lot of high level stuff in there, and you hate
she loses her money and all that. But but all
that can be. You know, we can cancel her badge,
we can cancel you know, of course, big hassle getting
her passport and all that. That's all a big hassle,
and she's gonna have to do a whole identity theft deal.
But the the big story is someone like her, even

(14:49):
though her whole family was in town and they want
to give them their their time for Easter. I got
all that, but there ought to be enough security that
you just can't snatch Christy Numbs purse. Hearing with your foot, yeah,
I was hearing. Two Secret Service agents were watching over
her table. Uh that was that was the number yesterday
that was being thrown to they pull it off. Yeah wow.

(15:14):
And they were talking.

Speaker 8 (15:15):
They were giving some numbers yesterday on the old DC
theft and just how how tough it is. Yeah, all that,
but but they were talking about but she's not an
average person like it, not like director of Homeland Security.
So her somebody being that close and dragging her purse
over to them and then taking off with it nobody

(15:36):
noticing it.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
That's pretty bad. Yeah, that is bad. So also from
the text nation other stories today. For some reason, speedy
and I know you don't know it. People are saying
to ask you how Missippi State baseball did? I knew
they were playing Ole Miss? Was it down in Biloxi?
Is that where they were playing? It must not be good,
but it was. It was a midweek game that didn't

(15:57):
count to the SEC. Uh you're preparing yourself, aren't you.

Speaker 8 (16:01):
Yeah, well, I'm checking the score right now. I looked
over at it, but I didn't pay.

Speaker 9 (16:05):
Attention rebels one.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Okay, I'm sorry.

Speaker 8 (16:08):
Wow Mississi State. I thought had had a oh wow, yeah,
I went to ten innings. Yeah, because I saw mister
Stated jumped out early. Looking at the box score, they
were they were up to nothing and then uh Ole
Miss tied at to two and then went ahead five
to two. Wow, and then State scored four in the sixth.

Speaker 9 (16:27):
I thought baseball games had nine innings.

Speaker 8 (16:30):
It is, but they went to ten because it was extras.
They were tied in the ninth.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
I tell you what. I was slipped with that.

Speaker 9 (16:37):
Yeah, that's weird.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
There was a weather kind of uh interrupted a lot
of last night's midweek games.

Speaker 8 (16:44):
Just just a lot of delays and different. I know
Alabama was at Samford uh in Birmingham.

Speaker 15 (16:50):
UH.

Speaker 8 (16:50):
And I believe you ab Jack State played Auburn, would
played Georgia Tech on the SEC.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Network and one one nothing.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (16:59):
But I was looking around a little bit. I didn't
pay a whole lot of attention to it.

Speaker 9 (17:02):
But I got caught in that rain you're talking about
yesterday driving.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Yes, man, it came through where we live. Man, where
we live right now, we're having pretty much scattered thunderstorms
every day for about three days in a row. Today
we'll have it again where we live. Also from the
text line, how in the world does she pay for
hamburgers and dinner?

Speaker 12 (17:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (17:21):
I know, Well, I guess maybe that's when she realized
there was a problem when it was time to I
bet that.

Speaker 9 (17:28):
What if they made her wash dishes. We got some
dishes in the back, but.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
You're talking about the ultimate. You can't have nothing.

Speaker 8 (17:35):
So I got my grandkids here having a family day
and just enjoying a dinner or lunch whatever, and can't
even you can't even have nothing.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Some people suggesting it could be people like we grew
up with Greg. Anybody dare me to still Christine Ulman's purse?
I bet I can do it. Yeah, I bet I
can get out of here with it. What about when
you're in charge of secret service and you're sitting down
with these two, Hey, y'all killing us?

Speaker 16 (18:00):
So you let a guy snatch her?

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Somebody did a foot snatch in front off. Yeah they don't.
You got to get hurt to get at her purse.

Speaker 8 (18:08):
And they don't even know who the guy is because
he was wearing a medical mask, you know. I mean
you know it used to be if you walked in
somewhere and you didn't have one on, they were like, hey,
get one on.

Speaker 17 (18:18):
Now.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
I think we're past that. Take it, take it all.
Watch the person with a mask on. Yeah, yeah, you
don't watch them now because are everywhere.

Speaker 8 (18:27):
So I've got a medical mask on. I'm sitting next
to the director of Homeland Security.

Speaker 9 (18:32):
I'm acting weird with my foot.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Yeah, and that got in the world. All right, we'll
be back bottom of the hour. So there's your update
on the purse snatching story.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Okay, let's take a moment right now. Uh something the
media would rather that you ignore it. Now you've heard
their version of what happened on January the sixth. Oh,
they've tried to milk it. But now it's time to
see what they've been to hide from you. The final
episode of Blaze TV's in depth investigation just dropped yesterday
and it blows the narrative wide open. We've got capital

(19:12):
surveillance footage, conflicting timelines, serious questions about Officer Harry dunnstory.
It's streaming right now exclusively on Blaze TV. Subscribe today
at BlazeTV dot com slash J six that's BlazeTV dot
com slash j six to watch the full investigation from
the very beginning.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
So what's up with the weather.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Here, Ken Osborn, What are you doing? We just told
you we're gonna have scattered thunderstrum all right, so we're back.
Thank you for being with us today a lot to
discuss going forward. Are any of you struggling out there

(20:22):
with the bad side effects of overuse of energy drinks?
Energy drinks, they're not great for you, watch out gus
than those throughout today. But now there could be an answer.
Uh you know, making America healthy again. You're either embracing
that or you're annoyed by it. Mike Lindell and my
pillow dot com slash big Vox says, you know what

(20:45):
a healthy America is a good thing. Uh So, Mike
once again has stepped up and has said, look, let's
go to the next generation of energy drinks, REV seven.
Their new Rev seven Energy drink is a home run
powered by Go BHB. It contains no caffeine, no sugar.

(21:07):
It comes in great flavors like Lemonade, green Apple, and
Greg's favorite blueberry citruso and Adler good News. It's also vegan,
so let me tell you, Mike Lindell is always on
the cutting edge. Rev seven is made to power your day.
When you compare it to the other energy drinks that

(21:27):
are not so good for you, this beats them all
across the board with no stimulants either. So if you'd

(21:51):
com under the sponsors be powered by Rev seven. Okay,
So some other things to discuss today on the program
personal time off looking at this, you know, the millennials
take a lot of a lot of heat, and rightfully
so boomers. Which one of the things that I'm a
little bit ashamed of is that I was born the

(22:13):
last year of what they considered to be a baby boomer,
and I don't like being associated there. But because you know,
baby boomers to me that that's when this this soft
started a lot of times boom yeah yeah, and you
get all that boom or this and boom or that. Yeah.
But anyway, but you sure, the millennials, to me, you know,

(22:34):
they work to be more embarrassing. And thankfully I'm feeling
a little better about gen X as they seem to
be kind of turning it around a little bit. Yeah yeah, yeah,
but but this was this was talking about I don't
know why you would do this survey, but they did.

Speaker 18 (22:47):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
And they were talking about personal time off. Now, this
does not mean I'm sick. This does not mean I
have a doctor's appointment or a surgery. It means I'm
just knocking it out a gear. Uh, I'm gonna take
some personal some PTO. Yeah, this is all about me.
I don't think anybody on this are well. I don't
think anybody on this team. Whatever you use some of

(23:10):
the phrases they're using about personal time off. To me,
are we just talking about personal time off? I took
a day or I had a vacation that that I
can in my agreement with my employer, I have the
right to take and we go on vacation. I don't
think they're even really talking about that. They're talking about

(23:31):
time that is set aside for this specific reason for
personal well being and leisure. I'm just knocking it out
of gear. But wouldn't that just be a vacation too,
that I have vacation, Well.

Speaker 9 (23:43):
It's vacation sick even sick days personal personal days.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Yeah. Yeah, Now they're saying it does not includes sick days.
Our doctor's pointments and it includes that you you took
time off and you were perfectly fine. You just took
time off for yourself.

Speaker 8 (23:59):
Yeah, body says taking paid time off. And out of
all the generations, the millennials feel the most guilty about
doing that.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
That's shocking to me. All you feel guilty about it?

Speaker 8 (24:10):
Yeah, according to this study that that that is out
that Rick's looking at.

Speaker 9 (24:14):
It's because we work hard, y'all were grit, were made
of grit, and we work hard.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
They said that boomers didn't really care at all. Uh,
they said they took time off, felt like they earned it,
didn't bother it all. So very low percentage, but they worries,
they said, but you know what might be that I
think this is it and how I have it? I
have it and and this guy gave this to me
just the other day that I know, and it was
one I can't wear those risk things and everybody has

(24:39):
put these risk things on, these rubber risk things. My
brist are too big so that they don't rubber risk things.
You know, Oh w W j D started it in
the eighties and then now it's for everything. You know,
there might be some person that you're trying to raise
money for or some calls you have or Bible verse,

(25:00):
yeah slogan on it. I can't wear those because they
don't fit me loose, they like they bind me a
little bit. I don't like the way they feel. So anyway,
but somebody gave me one the other day and it
was something that we've talked about on the show. Well,
I can't but it's I can't wear watches and I
can't wear those things. But anyway, the we we've said
this on the air, and this is absolutely the way

(25:21):
I feel. I do not like resting if I didn't
earn it. And this and this bracelet says earn your rest.
I feel perfectly fine that I've earned time away to relax,
but I do not like that feeling if I feel
like I have, I'm just I'm just peeling around. I
haven't accomplished anything. I'm not doing anything. I just feel

(25:44):
like I'm being lazy. I do not feel like that
I worked hard enough for this time off, and so
I'm gonna earn your rest kind of guy. And I
think the millennials knew they didn't earn it. I think
they knew they weren't really getting after it. It work anyway,
and so they felt bad about their their personal time off.
They don't think they earned it. I'm pretty much taking
personal time every day, right, Yeah, so they were You

(26:08):
at to feel perfectly fine with it if you earned it. Now,
if you didn't earn it and you know you're not
getting after it and you're just kind of piddling around,
I think that would bother you a little bit. Of course,
I've seen some people that should bother but it doesn't.
But but but earn your rest. I think that's what
this is about. And they don't feel like they did.
But because you know that that bunch had not every
single one of you, and none of us should be

(26:29):
lumped into a group of people because we're all individuals.
But in general, when you hear the word millennial, getting
after it does not come into That's not the first
thought that pops into my mind. Now. I know that's
unfair for some of you who do get after it.
I'm just telling you that's were born.

Speaker 9 (26:45):
We feel bad about it because we're such hard workers
and we will never put family first, will put business first.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Well, I think putting family first is also doing a
good job at work.

Speaker 9 (26:57):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Yeah, we're called to be good and we should be
getting after it. And plus, if somebody is handing you
a check, does no one feel an obligation to do
a good job? I do absolutely. I kind of feel
an obligation to do a good job for the people
who pay me. Yes, I know that's an odd concept,
but that's kind of But but you know, there was

(27:19):
a time where people kind of felt like an employer
owed them money. You have that a little bit, you
owe this to me. No, we really don't we And
then the whole that somehow problems I've created in my
own personal life as an employee, somehow this is now
the employer's baggage. It really isn't these are things we've
done to ourselves. It really isn't. His or her problem

(27:41):
are the company's problem. They hired us to do a job,
and by golly, we are to do it. And then
if you do it, and you do it well, and
you get after it, then you've earned your rest. It
ought to be guilt free now, especially if it's vacation
times that you earned.

Speaker 8 (27:55):
Course, if you're like me and you're sitting here trying
to make sense of it all because you know the generations,
but you're like, how does it fall.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
We've done this before. But the Boomers.

Speaker 8 (28:04):
Are fifty five to sixty four, nineteen fifty five to nineteen.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
I know that very well. Right now, they.

Speaker 8 (28:09):
Probably are around sixty sixty one to seventy something like that. Yep,
A Generation XES that mean is nineteen sixty five to
nineteen eighty. They're probably in the range of forty five
to sixties years of age. Millennials are nineteen eighty one
to nineteen ninety six. They're probably twenty nine to forty
four years of age right now. Understood, Generation Z is

(28:31):
nineteen ninety seven to twenty twelve, probably thirteen to twenty
eight years of age.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
And then I didn't know this.

Speaker 8 (28:38):
There's Generation ALPHA, which is from there up to twenty
twenty four. Where's X X is sixty five to eighty.
That's the one that's forty five to six. That's where
Greg and I are. So I'm thinking about Z. Then
when I was talking about the ones that are turned
in around of it, they didn't even put y'all in here.
They didn't even ask X about it.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
X don't care. Yeah, they just asked boomers and millennials.
I guess because those two at times can be two
of the more embarrassing ones. So it's a little bit
of overlap here too, by a year or two on
the generations, on depending on what chart you look at.
But that's a rough draft.

Speaker 9 (29:16):
Yeah, there's a little you know, some people say, no,
it's this time and that exactly.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Yeah, no, wait a minute, that's two years off. I'm here.
But that's kind of oh wow.

Speaker 9 (29:25):
So you got the builders? Did you mention them?

Speaker 14 (29:28):
Speedy?

Speaker 3 (29:29):
The builders before the boomers?

Speaker 9 (29:32):
You got the builders. If your parent's born in twenty
five to forty five, those are the builders.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Their builders. What about this? Have you ever though? Had that?
And this was I remember this. I don't feel this
way anymore because we have such a good team and
everybody does a good job. I remember that taking off
work was such a hassle because of all the stuff
that I had to do at work to prepare to
be off that sometimes just doing the work and then
doing stuff after work was easy. You're than saying I'm

(30:01):
gonna be gone for a week, because everything I had
to do at the office for me to be gone,
and with such a such a has with such a nightmare,
I almost let you know, it's not even worth it.
This is causing me more stress than if I just
keep working. But no, I believe. I believe in working
hard and then play hard, work work hard. Then you
can play hard.

Speaker 18 (30:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Uh yeah, And you've earned time to just goof off
and go big when you have time off. Yeah, spend
time with your family. Make it quality that, go do
great things. Spend time with your family every day. Find
time for that. But put your phone down. You know.
But you earn rest o, you earn it got you.
It's not just a given. And and you know if
you're resting all the time, Okay, that's that's not called rest.

(30:42):
That's just lazy.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Okay, are you waity
to bring something to the able?

Speaker 19 (31:00):
Cool?

Speaker 1 (31:01):

Speaker 19 (33:07):
I, uh, good morning, love the Love the New Show.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Thank you?

Speaker 19 (33:12):
Uh can I can I ask you all a question
about something to say if I'm just weird about it
or not sure? Uh, I'm driving an eighteen wheeler and uh,
if you're going slow in the right lane and I
hit the left to go around you, you're not gonna
go to hell if I get a round you. So
there's no need to feed up and bought me in
the left lane. Y'all understand that.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
It's okay to let an eighteen we're gonna go by you.
Maybe you should be going faster, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 8 (33:41):
These people that feel like they're their pride is hurt
because you're passing.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
Them the left. They're okay up to that point. Then
when you kick it he who think I'm speeding up now.

Speaker 9 (33:53):
Also, by the way, if I know I'm in a
big van, that doesn't mean I'm going slow. I know
you think I'm going, so I'm not. I'm going the
same speed as everybody.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
Little man in a big van, I'm not going.

Speaker 9 (34:05):
I am going. I am going with the crowd. Just
because I'm in a big old van doesn't mean I'm
going to love I'm not. I don't have eggs or
ice or glass in.

Speaker 16 (34:13):
The back of it.

Speaker 9 (34:14):
That don't have to be careful with.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
We know we need a new segment and somehow film it.
Little man in a big bandy and they go with that.
They all day say I have to park it.

Speaker 9 (34:28):
I don't have to, man, I don't have to park weird, Okay,
I can pull into normal spots. It's a normal van.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
It's not a normal van. You're a sweet van.

Speaker 15 (34:39):
It is sweet.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
It is sweet.

Speaker 9 (34:41):
Hey, you have a long day. If you rode with
me today, buddy, my goodness, I got I got your
worship practice tonight. It starts at six forty five.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
I know, late, I know. You shouldn't hang around these artists.
They get they do everything like.

Speaker 9 (34:55):
These artsy people. They sleep till noon.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
Yep, just kidding. Uh, we continue. You're on the Rick
Burgers Show unstreamy this morning, good man.

Speaker 18 (35:07):
I was just wondering about the celebrity softball game. If
that was going to be streamed on YouTube?

Speaker 3 (35:14):
You know it will not now and then is that
that seems that seems wrong, doesn't it? I mean we
should be streaming that. We will capture maybe some things
to put on the YouTube channel, but no, it will
not be streamlined. I heard us on the ESPN. Hey, well, Greg,
why isn't it Greg? I too where it's owned the show?
The show? We continue, Hey, Rick Burgers Show unstream phone

(35:34):
calls go.

Speaker 20 (35:35):
Ahead, Hey, good morning guys.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Hey.

Speaker 20 (35:38):
I had a very interesting, uh conversation with my nephew's
wife and from Germany this past weekend. You know, she
looks at the government and Germany like a charitable organization
or something, you know, like the government to take care
of everybody's needs. And so I said, the government doesn't
produce anything. They're not a charity. I said, think about
it like this, weetheart. I said, let's say there's somebody

(36:00):
in our neighborhood and you want to give them a
ham or something to eat, you go down to the
grocery store and at the point of a gone you
steal that haam, and you take it and give it
to them. I said, is that right?

Speaker 14 (36:11):
See?

Speaker 20 (36:11):
So, of course not that's stealing, I said, exactly, I said,
the government takes some morning gets to another. But if
I go down to the grocery store and I buy
that ham and I take it and freely give it
to my neighbor, that's charity. Government is never going to
be a charity.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
Well, said Mike. I noticed that in France. I've never
been to Germany except you know, like stopping, you know,
to get another airplane at the airport. But well traveled, Yeah,
well traveled. But I saw the same attitude there. They're
so accustomed to socialism and that the government is the
answer to everything. You are, absolutely right. You almost have
to bring them back into reality. You know how this works,

(36:44):
don't you, Because they don't. And then if you want
to give them something like say the church, which is
all but vanished in a lot of these European countries, uh,
they think, well, what's your angle? Right? They've lost the
whole concept of neighbor helping neighbor. The church is not
and you know, benevolent giving because of all the things
Mike just pointed out. Uh so, uh yeah, that their

(37:07):
mindset has been that everything I need is provided by
the government, and what's wrong with that. They don't understand
why it's unsustainable. You can't sustain that. And where the
government gets the money and the stuff that you're getting,
they get it from other people. Uh we continue, Rick
Burgess show, you're on unscreen phone calls Go ahead.

Speaker 18 (37:27):
Yes, sir, I was this is really directed. I really
wanted to get Greg's opinion on this one. I was
reading an article that Argentina is coming out with some
new evidence that they think the that Hitler possibly made
it down there after the war and lived there. And
I was going to see what Greg thought about the

(37:48):
little man with the tiny mustag's a little angry man
if he really made it down there, and what Greg
thinks about that you on.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
The Argentina thing that's becoming. They did they you know,
documented there were some of the war crawminals that fled Germany.
They kept them in Argentina. That is a fact. Now,
whether Hitler was one of them, you know, and they
faked his death or whatever. I've heard that rumor, but
I don't know.

Speaker 9 (38:11):
Yeah, the there's a document that came out. It's supposedly
from the c I A. That's but the document just
claims that A. The document just reports the claim from
a third party source without verification.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
That it wasn't Mingling. Wasn't he there?

Speaker 9 (38:29):
Yeah, I believe so.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
I heard.

Speaker 9 (38:31):
I heard a few of them went to Huntsville.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
You're right, well that you are correct about that. I
don't know about war criminals and our space program says
thank you, yes. And speaking of space.

Speaker 9 (38:42):
Program, there's another example of the government not being able
to do things as well as private as the private.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
Oh boy, oh there you go.

Speaker 9 (38:51):
And when it comes to benevolence, churches have so much
more accountability and the dollars go so much farther than
it's not wasted any it goes to people didn't actually
need it, that are actual people.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
The government was never designed to be into benevolence.

Speaker 9 (39:06):
No, And it gives those people a social net they
can get into a community, get funded. You guys know
what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
Oh, sure we do. I'm sure we do.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

you for being with us today.

Speaker 20 (40:16):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
Let's talk Pope from emails. Uh talk Pope, Hey bird,
Hey bird. All the coverage on the Pope makes me think,
is it me? Or does the Vatican Guards have the
least intimidating uniforms ever?

Speaker 9 (40:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (40:34):
With the stripe, Yeah, I will say, you know, that's
a colorful bunch. They're easy to spot. I'm sure they're
quite able to colorful fend off anybody that would want
to do harm. Oh yeah, don't mess with them. Yeah,
but but there their their uniform and be intimidated by
that uniform. That uniform it looks it looks a little

(40:56):
bit like the court gesture. Uh, a gesture.

Speaker 9 (41:00):
I was gonna say, are they going to juggle later?

Speaker 3 (41:02):
My goodness, it is the socks make it.

Speaker 8 (41:05):
By the way, Uh, the do you think underneath that
uniform is a bad dude?

Speaker 3 (41:12):
Just by life? I'd like to say some type of
weapon besides the spear. Well, I hate to bring up
the obvious. How many attacks on the Vatican do we have?
I don't know. I mean, I don't know, but just
don't come at our There have been people that were
out to get the pope. Now we've had that, you know,
we've we've had people shoot him in the past. Uh
and all that. So it can be Yeah, it needs

(41:33):
to be protected. He needs protection and and there needs
to be security. The choice of uniform, that's just over
the centuries. Yeah, we still got the same.

Speaker 12 (41:43):
Look.

Speaker 9 (41:44):
By the way, that's a halbird, Greg, That's not a spirit,
it's a halbard. It's an axe. It's a spear with
an axe tip and a hook on the end. You
can you can pull people off their horses with the
with the hook part and then hit them with the actual.

Speaker 3 (41:59):
Battling like they did back in William Wallace's day.

Speaker 9 (42:01):
We're good, exactly, it's a halbird.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
But but do they also have guns? I mean I
forgot about guns hopefully.

Speaker 15 (42:08):
Yes.

Speaker 14 (42:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
Uh you never know, Greg, were you prepared that? Wow,
we'll just look at the pope. Yeah. I was a
little surprised that we parayed with the lid off. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (42:19):
Yeah, that's the first thing that hit me. With all
due respect, you got to me at that side.

Speaker 3 (42:25):
If that, If you don't, if you don't take a
double take on that, you're just not being honest. Oh wow,
So the lid's off.

Speaker 9 (42:31):
Greg, Speaking of double take, have you seen the outfits
on some of these guys.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
Back to security or who?

Speaker 17 (42:38):
Man?

Speaker 9 (42:39):
They didn't get the about the.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
Whoa wait a minute, what is this sponge with the
black hood? I don't like the bunch with the black hood?

Speaker 9 (42:46):
What is that that's part of the is that the
walk of penitents?

Speaker 3 (42:50):
You kidding? It's a Catholic thing, right, But I mean, wow,
that's kind of speaking.

Speaker 9 (42:55):
There's lots of country sometimes it's red in Spain and
people are getting I say what, I can't believe the
KKK is so active.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
But it's not.

Speaker 9 (43:03):
No, it's it's not the KKK. Everybody same, same style.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
So with the walk of penitence penitents, does that mean
they're sin? Do they represent sin? Maybe when they're walking?
Maybe scary because it looks scary. Oh wow, there it
is again speaking scary. I didn't expect for me to
see the pope's body as often as I have. Yeah, yeah,
I thought maybe that would be that part would be
private just for the yeah, and then then we as

(43:29):
you Greg, you keep referring to it as shedding the lid.
Thank you for your reverence there, but the yeah, it
would be closed casket kind of for the at some point.
This is a lot when you're going through and again
this is a lot of there's a lot of sea
in the body mm hmm. And so that just a
little I was little taken back by that. I guess

(43:49):
it's been a while since I've seen a pope funeral.
But but anyway, so a lot going on. Like you say,
some of the the stuff they're doing, the pomp and everything,
some of it is a little it's a little creepy.

Speaker 9 (44:05):
The funeral is all going to be all day Saturday,
I'm sure.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
Oh yeah, Okay, somebody here, Rick right there is giving
us a little information on on whatspen That is the
Swiss Guard. Back to the security team. Not not the
guys in black hoods in the walk of penitents. Uh,
this is the Swiss Guard. Their uniforms are ornamental, but
they do have an armed contingent. You know, the group

(44:31):
as well at the Vatican in suits in battle dress.
Which ones are considered simplify the elite force. The Swiss
Guard is elite. Yes, are these other ones that.

Speaker 9 (44:43):
Are dressed and they said the clown they're.

Speaker 3 (44:47):
Considered an elite force.

Speaker 9 (44:49):
The Swiss Guard is the clown outfit guys. But I
don't think that.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
He said that. There's he said they do have an
armed contingent and the Vatican in suits and battle and
they there they are considered the elite force. The other group. Right,
So that we got the Swiss Guard that wear the
traditional dress and then you have some that just have
on suits and they're armed and ready to get.

Speaker 9 (45:11):
But it's all Swiss Guard people. Sometimes sometimes you dress
like a clown. Sometimes you don't.

Speaker 3 (45:16):
Okay, okay, right, I got you, okay, but.

Speaker 9 (45:19):
They do look like I mean, it's just funny people.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
People are asking us, have we seen the list of
candidates to replace Pope Francis. No, we have not, and
now and I wouldn't know anything about a candidate, and.

Speaker 18 (45:37):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
I don't want to comment, comment must because I don't know.
I don't want to be offence? What what? What?

Speaker 14 (45:41):
What?

Speaker 3 (45:41):
What? What? What? Would you say? Don't offensive? But don't they?
Did you? You just said you don't want to do this? No, okay,
all right, but I mean, but I know you, but
they don't. They change their name. They give them a
name like his name's not Francis, it's something else. As
you're the pope, you're Pope and so and so, they
have signed you a name.

Speaker 9 (46:00):
That right, his name's not pope? Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 3 (46:02):
No, his name is not Francis, lighting up Francis. That
was given to him and he became the pope. I
think you.

Speaker 9 (46:08):
Pope's typically changed their name after being elected, but it's
not a strict requirement.

Speaker 3 (46:13):
Okay, yeah, but I saw his name and it wasn't Francis. Interesting,
it was You're not being offensive by asking that, Greg,
Thank you for carry so well.

Speaker 9 (46:23):
The first pope to change his name was Pope John
the second.

Speaker 3 (46:26):
Hey, I saw a story, man.

Speaker 8 (46:28):
I'm like, Greg, I don't know anything, but I saw
a story where it's a one hundred year old prediction
on on the popes and the next one and this
next one might be it's going to be called Peter.
Uh and and it's just all these yes and the
predictions that have been accurate over tall and how how

(46:50):
it is. But I don't know, but I saw it
plainsmen part yesterday that they they chose a pope.

Speaker 3 (46:58):
Have you seen this?

Speaker 8 (46:59):
I'm sorry I DMed it to you, Adler. They had
white smoke and everybody started making their joke at Plainsmith
Park where Auburn plays. Auburn Baseball was hosting Georgia Tech,
and uh, and white smoke started coming up. They were
just grilling out, is all. They had chose the next pope.

Speaker 9 (47:19):
Ye, that's just a cookout, everybody, Greg, you are right.

Speaker 3 (47:25):
Again according to our Catholic listeners. Okay, Uh, I'm going
to find that. And I would make a suggestion on
your desire not to be offensive about this, maybe say
casket open casket clothes versus they had the lid up. Well, no,
they actually removed the lid.

Speaker 9 (47:40):
It's not even yeah, that's it's not a toilet, Greg,
it's a car.

Speaker 14 (47:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (47:45):
Okay, yeah, so they've they've taken the top off. So
so anyway that is put a hand on it. Yeah,
and you you are right good. They do get assigned
or or they changed their name. They said they can
change it. It's not like you said, Adler, could I
keep my real name Pope? Greg? Yeah, or what I
have to be? Like It says it's up to them

(48:07):
what he chooses, what he liked to be called as pope,
and normally it is not his given name. So yes, Greg,
you could be Pope. Greg. I don't think that's ever
going to happen, but you could be.

Speaker 9 (48:19):
So it's like when somebody's trying to become like a
famous artist like friends, you know, Madonna, Pope, John Paul
the second all that.

Speaker 3 (48:28):
Did you see Babylon b awkward moment at the Pearly
Gates when Peter asked the Pope for his hat back. Yes,
that's good, that's uh, that's that was so probably a
little quick, but it's sure. What's funny.

Speaker 15 (48:43):
We'll be back.

Speaker 3 (48:44):
So there you go. And and I say this will
probably go on for a for a walkers. Yeah, I
think the funeral is Saturday. Right, That shows they're not badness.
We haven't done you down Monday. We put you down
on Wednesdays.

Speaker 1 (49:02):

your emails coming up a little bit later on in
the program. Today we'll start preparing for tomorrow in Birmingham,

(49:49):
this Rick wood Field celebrity softball theme that people are
accusing us of taking over. But we'll talk a little
more about that. I brought my pinstrip pain ants that
I wore back in the glory years. Uh, and I
will ask the uncomfortable question are these appropriate for the game?
I actually I was gonna put them on.

Speaker 21 (50:09):
I have them.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
I also have a glove and I stopped you just
worem In stopped by yesterday and picked up a ball,
and so were Greg. He wants to play catching here, Well,
I just want to We'll look around. I need guys,
I haven't I haven't done this in a long time
that you've taken over. But I've noticed when they announced it,
now that they go rick would feel appropriate, slight.

Speaker 8 (50:35):
I'm gonna beg you to just just catch it out front,
because that ball is gonna come in on you hard
because you're not used to it.

Speaker 3 (50:41):
They're supposed to announce the lineups today. I need to
know who I'm out there with. If you've got a.

Speaker 8 (50:45):
Gun on the left side, throwing it over, you've got
just please catch it out front.

Speaker 3 (50:50):
Really get that glove out front. Maybe maybe should have
been d H relief. You still can dot com. Don't
have to be out there. I like playing the one
back and I can I trash talk. I'm DH. I
just don't want you over on the side with an
ice bag on yang. I'm not gonna do anything. How
about I have had I have physical therapist yesterday, trainer,

(51:13):
and my wife and my friends at work all begging
me please do not end up in the hostels. Go
just go do your heart. That's a good one on
the text line Relief factor dot Com now let me

hay bird, it's with trepidation that I share this with you.
I don't want to be jinxing much potential show content.
When you said you found your old cleats and you're

(52:58):
planning on using the I'm in the game, thirsty. I
got a mental image of you beating out a hit
to first about ten feet from the bag. The stitching
gives out due to dry rot. Oh boy, and you
execute a perfect face plant. It's a good breakdown here.
Of course, this would also be an issue with the
equally ancient pinstriped pants. Can they stand that kind of strain?

(53:23):
Will we all be extremely grateful for the tidy whities?
Every time I picture this? Is it wrong that I
laugh hard in anticipation this possibility? Rick, anything's been on
the shelf a while. I think, did I see some
slids in there? Yeah? I got slide, George so u
so I'm like, he's gonna slide. I got a built
in to the cup. Yes, I've got a cup holder.

(53:44):
Who's gonna get you a cup? I've already got one
in there. You find an old cup? I got to
find out whether it's uh. He went to the store
and got us off. Yes. Yeah, when I first tried
one I had at home. Unfortunately my cup runneth over.
So I'm going to uh, I'm going to uh one
of the kids. You're right, I don't think that was that.
I was like, I don't think that's mine. While that

(54:06):
really goes down there, Yeah it does. Some of them
really don't touch, so wants to protect it all it does,
and I'm thankful for that. As you can imagine a
lot of a lot of emails, Hey bird, Hey birds
from yesterday's show. I caught yesterday's show on Alexa around noon.

(54:27):
I'm not sure if you're aware of all the commercials
during the breaks we are. I recall that the show,
as I was listening, began to push the envelope a
little bit, and right after Gary did what was not
appropriate for radio, and then Adler followed with a video,
also not appropriate. I got quite the chuckle because right

(54:47):
after all of this, the commercial was for that bank
three sixteen and in the bank they talk about giving
ten percent for his Kingdom work and you and you
would want to bank with someone who shares your values.
I'm sure these people were very excited to be associated
with your show until yesterday. I just busted out laughing,
thinking the bank may have not wanted to be positioned

(55:10):
just right there. I've been listening since ninety eight. I
love the new show. Shout out to Greg, as we
speak the same language. I scream released the cracking. That's
from Mark. But good here from Mark, I go to
give him a lot. Greg, good hear from Mark. I
need hey Bird Haberg, Hey Bird hay Burge. We need

(55:31):
a ruling whose bomb on the show yesterday was worse
Gary or Adler's as a piece of key evidence, which
one garners a larger fine if you were finding.

Speaker 9 (55:44):
Well, mine wouldn't. Mine's not on the list. Technically, my
word was not on the list. Gary's word is definitely
on the list. It's the first word on the list.

Speaker 3 (55:51):
Ok Yeah, Okay, mine was more crude.

Speaker 9 (55:54):
And that's I need to adjust what I view as shocking.
I need to really what I said, adjust my filter yesterday.
I need to raise my standards.

Speaker 3 (56:04):
But see you act like it was subtle. It wasn't.

Speaker 9 (56:07):
Yeah, I just it didn't shock me when I heard it.

Speaker 3 (56:10):
You didn't.

Speaker 8 (56:11):
If you're just joining us Uh, Gary was with us
yesterday and we had a caller that frustrated him and
he and he said a bad words response, which was
just you know what I mean, It was just it
was a spontaneous reaction. What makes Adler's worse is that
he actually promoted the video and said let's play it
at video footage and there was a description in the

(56:33):
video that.

Speaker 3 (56:35):
Was a little and physically Yeah yeah, yeah, promoted it.
Sorry about that, let's play it. I said, we got
this is a good one.

Speaker 9 (56:43):
Sorry about that, boy?

Speaker 3 (56:44):
Yeah, yeah, you you it was.

Speaker 9 (56:46):
It was I'm raising my standards.

Speaker 3 (56:48):
It was a good one. That'd be great.

Speaker 9 (56:50):
Yeah, sorry that that that would be great song. That's
my bad.

Speaker 3 (56:53):
Well it kind of goes back to, you know, just
when you when you got your videos going, just know
that the God that we herb is there with you,
you know, watching and listening.

Speaker 9 (57:03):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (57:04):
Yeah, it's it's maybe his standard because ours is always not.

Speaker 9 (57:08):
Quite what it's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (57:09):
You can go right up to let me say where
the limit line is, right guy? And that dog the
other day, I mean that was acceptable. Let me tell
you the dog.

Speaker 9 (57:17):
Yeah, that's where that was just funny.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
That's about where you go. I've never seen anything like that.
I've never had a video that I thought I was
prepared for that I realized, you know, a matter of fact,
I had a speech with the team after the show,
be an advocate for something, and I may I may
not be aware of how good this is. And really,

(57:40):
I mean, don't don't let me get away with with
going with passing on that rook. Keep you coming back then,
God telling you right, Gary was referring to a medical condition.
You're right, sort bottom of the hour. More of the
Rick Burgess Show coming up drive after this.

Speaker 1 (58:03):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. They are the uncles
your parents warned you about the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (58:22):
Right here we go. Thanks for being with us as
we grind through another one, another Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 9 (58:30):
Have you entered Mom yet?

Speaker 3 (58:31):
In the make Mama's Smile Again contests? There at Rick
Burgess Show dot com. Look at contests If you have
not entered Mom. We got a bunch of them that
have remember to follow exactly what the requirements are. Mama
does need to have some teeth. Sorry, but we got
to have something to work with. I was at Dudney's yesterday,
had a great visit with doctor Dudney. He's thrilled that

(58:54):
he's about to make somebody's mama smile again. Went in
from a check up, no cavities, out of cleaning, cleaning,
and went there and celebrated with Dudney, you know, Christie
and the whole gang over there at Team Dudney. His
big day, big celebration, a lot of excitement, a lot
of hype, yep, getting ready for another winner and changing
someone's life. So if you have not done that, be

(59:17):
sure you get mama entered. So Charlie Kirk, Charlie, Charlie Kirk,
he's out there a lot even you know, had a
real frank conversation with Bill Maher about his about faith
and being a Christian, and Bill Maher was, you know,
highly offensive. And Charlie Kirk does a really good job
of kind of maintaining you know, his cool and he's calm,

(59:40):
and when he debates people from a political standpoint, he
stays cool and calm. But apparently Adler's got a video
today where Charlie Kirk was challenged to a fistfight by
seventy year old person and his triand to beat him
in the debate. Take a poke at Yeah, so somebody
got a little violet. Yes, yeah, all right.

Speaker 9 (01:00:01):
Seventy year old. He's wearing a Gilligan hat.

Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
Look at him. Please look. They don't look seventy.

Speaker 16 (01:00:05):
He looks good for yah.

Speaker 21 (01:00:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
Okay, all right man, people brought me here to challenge
you to a gentleman's fistfight right here in front of
this whole crowd. Now look once and listen.

Speaker 7 (01:00:19):
Listen.

Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
No, I wait, wait, wait.

Speaker 22 (01:00:23):
I would hate to hospitalize you in front of two
thousand people.

Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
Okay, so hold on, I'm serious about this. You take
the first punch. Oh my good sun up, shut up
for shut up, Charlie Kirk.

Speaker 22 (01:00:38):
You know what, So, first of all, it says very
clearly in the Bible that we, you know we we
shouldn't harm those that you know are worthy of protection,
and you obviously are. You're just wearing kicking medic carriage.
Maybe let's let's play this out despite the obvious fact,
and you and I both know who would win this duel. However,

(01:01:02):
you are hold on a second. This is a great
embodiment of the American left. You can't debate, so you
want to go to blows.

Speaker 23 (01:01:09):
You can't.

Speaker 22 (01:01:10):
The only thing that is preventing us from this country
from going to civil war is debate and dialogue. And
you don't even want to have debate. You want to
go and you want to wrestle like a seven year old.

Speaker 16 (01:01:20):
Oh yeah, typical lefties.

Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
If Charlie, did I tell you what way on?

Speaker 17 (01:01:27):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
That guy wouldn't say, can I go back to the
seventy year old? He does it like he's in your
good shape for his age, but he's still seventy. Did
he say the Holy Spirit? Yes, had told him to acaist. Okay,
the Holy Spirit told me to come up here and
challenge you to a fire.

Speaker 9 (01:01:46):
He had that line ready to go and also evidently
put up for shut up, Charlie Kirk.

Speaker 8 (01:01:53):
These crowds at those events, they're Wow, they're growing in size.

Speaker 3 (01:01:58):
Yeah, well, lots of people. Well it goes back to
what he said to the man. So this is your
response to being not being able to debate me on
these issues. You're going to go to blows. We're going
to physically fight again. The Left may pretend to be
all feeling, all knowing, and all loving, as we've said

(01:02:19):
a thousand times, that only applies to you if you
agree with them. Sarah Palin jury has ruled that the
New York Times did not libel Sarah Palin in the
defamation case. This is hard to prove, especially for your
public failure. So a federal jury has ruled that New
York Times did not libel Sarah Palin and a twenty

(01:02:41):
seventeen editorial. In the latest update to the you know,
years long lawsuit, they deliberated for about two hours and
the closing arguments were done. It was a civil trial
and it was in its second week, and they ruled
that there was nothing that The New York Times did

(01:03:04):
that was outside of what they were allowed to do
with an editorial. And we talked about this a lot
when when you're trying to go to these defamation cases,
if you're a public figure, it's really really difficult because
you have to prove that any damage was done to you,
and then you also have to prove that the person
who said something or wrote an editorial about you intended

(01:03:25):
to harm you and then successfully did so. So that
that's a pretty hard standard, and then it really should be.
If it wasn't, then we would have these kind of
lawsuits every time somebody got their feelings hurt by something
you said. Now, I'm not saying she shouldn't have gone
after them. I'm just saying that it's hard to win
those type of cases if you're a public figure. And

(01:03:45):
so they ruled that they did not libel her or
damage her in a way that would cause for any
legal action.

Speaker 9 (01:03:54):
Yeah, and if if we're going to lean one way
or the other, let's go free speech, free press.

Speaker 3 (01:03:58):
You know it, No, I agree, I agree, it's I don't.
I don't really, even though I know that journalism is
dead and it's all about an agenda now and pushing
a narrative and basically, you know, we've lost journalism where
we would just report, you know, here are the facts, America,
make up your mind. However, if we get to the

(01:04:21):
if we start going down any road that takes away
the freedom of expression and opinion, I'm not for that
because because then it just then we just lose our
way completely. Now, I do think we have the right
if someone says something about you that's a lie and
you're angry and you think they have you know, that
is defamation, and it is there. They should be liable.

(01:04:43):
You should go through the process as she did. But
we got to be real careful that just because we
don't like what someone said about us, that it's always
got to be some kind of legal case.

Speaker 8 (01:04:53):
It wasn't it was it ABC that just settled, was
it with Trump? Stephalopa whatever his name is. Didn't they
have to then they have to pay something?

Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
I don't know. I can't remember what network it was.

Speaker 9 (01:05:03):
I thought it was, Yeah, if it was fifteen million
to Trump's presidential library.

Speaker 8 (01:05:09):
Yeah, yeah, it's it's good to try to hold some
of these outlets accountable. But you're right, you always lean
towards free speech.

Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
But absolutely The Office co star Rain Wilson video six
on this same topic. So I did not know this,
but Rain Wilson, if you know, I read the written
article about this too, that speedy you provided, and he
is saying that he was a person of faith and
he knew that he was a villain in Hollywood. If

(01:05:39):
you're if you're a Christian in Hollywood, he said, you
have to know that everybody sees you as a villain,
and so you're going to have an uphill climb. Now,
he's had a very successful career, but he is going
to refute in his podcast what MSNBC host Stephanie is
it Rules how you say her name? Yeah, for blaming
Trump and Elin Musk for why faith in media has plunged,

(01:06:05):
that they're the problem, not the state of media before
they were ever even read back in office, and then
Elon for the first time with an administration. So here
is actor Rainn Wilson, best known as Dwight from the
Office refuting that, and yeah, Stephanie Rule.

Speaker 9 (01:06:21):
Is going to try to make a point, and then
he's going to respond.

Speaker 24 (01:06:25):
President Trump won, and tons of people were shocked or
angry or frustrated and they're tuning out. And at the
same time you have the Elon Musk media machine because
they want you to leave traditional media and they want
you to go to x which is a bastion of
misinformation or there is no fact checking. So it's a
perfect storm of people saying, I'm angry, I'm frustrated, I'm

(01:06:48):
tuning out, I'm disconnecting, and then you have a force
pushing it. But even in the last two weeks, what
we need to do is just cover what's happening in America.
Right We have to cover Democrats trying to figure out
what their lane is and how they're going to get
back on their feet, and we have to simply cover.

Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
What this White House is doing.

Speaker 11 (01:07:09):
And I think if we do that right, there's that saying,
you know, trust is gained in rain drops and it's
lost in buckets, all lost, And it's not a yes,
you're not incorrect that the media has lost trust.

Speaker 25 (01:07:22):
This is where I would push back when I see
this kind of insight and passion being directed at the
current administration and the lack of this kind of insight
and passion being directed at the previous administration. Where again
I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about left leaning
news media organizations.

Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
We're kind of like, la la la la la.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
Everything's fine.

Speaker 9 (01:07:44):
Look the environments, I mean, look, the economy's great, La
la la.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
Immigration's not that much of a problem. And really being
Cleopatra Queen of denial, yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:07:57):
Yeah, and so yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:07:58):
And some people were saying that he him self is
not a person of faith. I don't know, but he
did say that there's anti Christian bias in Hollywood. This
is after the Last of Us episode. He said I
knew that he was a villain, meaning that there's always
bias if you do anything that has any sort of
faith based to it anyway, So maybe that didn't fight

(01:08:20):
him personally, but he was talking about Hollywood. We'll be
right back.

Speaker 1 (01:08:23):
This is the Rick Burgess Show now in a world
that has gone nuts, they are here too well to
want get up the Rick British Show.

Speaker 3 (01:08:49):
Who's ready? It is the Rick Burgess Show. Speedy, Greg
and Adler here with us today. Thank you for being
with us. So coming up. I think what I'm gonna
do with the Rick wood Field in Birmingham, Alabama appearance
tomorrow being on the schedule, Speedying Greg doing the PA.
They would like to get that roster. We'd all like

(01:09:10):
to see it is going to sing the national anthem.
I'd like to know where Adler is on. You know,
what's going to be the style? What is he thinking about?
That's all going on. People have asked will this be streamed?
Not that I know of. We'll try to capture as
much of it as we can document for our YouTube channel.
YouTube channel, probably not live, but so Adler has some

(01:09:32):
things maybe to put up there for you guys to
see the next day. Oh yeah, and well of course
we get that.

Speaker 9 (01:09:37):
As far as the style, I was thinking like Windey
Houston meets Chris Stapleton. You know that kind of thing put.

Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
When I saw it sing it the last time, it
was kind of a pop punk?

Speaker 9 (01:09:49):
Was it pop punk? So Patriot is.

Speaker 15 (01:09:53):
It going to be?

Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
Like? Are you gonna have an instrument?

Speaker 9 (01:09:56):
Are you just going to I think I'm just gonna
sing it. I am gonna both of my kids with me,
so my hands will be full.

Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
And you you being a death metal fan, are you
considering the cookie Monster voice?

Speaker 9 (01:10:08):
Yeah, just for the last and the home.

Speaker 3 (01:10:12):
Is your is your wife? Is your wife coming?

Speaker 17 (01:10:16):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (01:10:17):
Yeah, you know I will have my kids by myself,
So I don't think I can have an instrument. I
don't think i'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
Have Do you think your kids they don't see us enough?
Any of them open to maybe me holding one of them?

Speaker 9 (01:10:29):
Well, I mean they can hang out, they can stand
next to me.

Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
It's some bigh Well what if he what if as
runs off?

Speaker 14 (01:10:34):
You him?

Speaker 9 (01:10:35):
Just everybody watch him while I'm singing, everybody watching.

Speaker 8 (01:10:37):
Why don't you give him to the to the guys
on the mic, you just kind of give him to us.
Go y'all hang out with with Uncle Speedy and Uncle Greg.
I'm gonna go sing.

Speaker 9 (01:10:44):
I'm gonna go sing, y'all hang here. He might run
up to me and I can hold him on my
hip while I sing That's America.

Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
Teach him a few cuss words.

Speaker 9 (01:10:51):
No Greg, Greg, please, and he repeats everything, repeats.

Speaker 3 (01:10:55):
Every all he's got to do. Apparently lately he's hanging
around his dad. That's the point. Very careful, did you?
I mean? But you realize the National Anthem is a
very difficult song.

Speaker 7 (01:11:05):
It is.

Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
It really doesn't lend itself to a toddler.

Speaker 14 (01:11:08):
Right.

Speaker 9 (01:11:09):
Luckily I've sing before, okay, and so I know my key,
I know my key. I'll have it in my phone. Literally,
I'll play the d nope like a little your acapella. Yeah,
I'm gonna go acapella. Can you give me the beginning
of it?

Speaker 3 (01:11:22):
Just oh okay, okay, good. He's like Barney five. He
can do acapella.

Speaker 16 (01:11:30):
Acapella, so apella.

Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
Okay, all right, So we'll people were asking to Now
I'm gonna tell you this in the break. I'm putting
the pinstrips on and we're gonna we're gonna, y'all need
y'all to tell me too, baggy, because I wore these
when I was a much larger human. And uh and
and we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna talk about it.
I don't have you get you're not a bunch of sliders. Okay,

(01:11:56):
the full presentation. Uh So we're gonna, we're just making
the call on the pin stripe pants, all right, Okay?
And uh so that's a I was gonna wear. You know,
we had some pinstripe that were shorts. I couldn't find
them any Oh yeah, yeah, but I'm not gonna do that.
I think my calves would be too distract So the
I was, I'm just I want to wear. I want

(01:12:17):
to be out there being serious about it.

Speaker 17 (01:12:18):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
I looked up on the top shelf in my closet,
way up oasther stuff that you don't even That's where
I found my and I think I saw my pints
stripes shorts of the long one.

Speaker 8 (01:12:27):
So have you talked to Chris Hammond or anything? Didn't
he coming supposed to be? Yeah, I haven't talked to him.
Uh And I think done Away is supposed to play.
I don't know if Brown's play, but I know done A.

Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
So So anyway, people are asking about walk up songs,
I don't know that they're gonna well, I guess see
the c J, the DJ could play it. Is there
something you'd like? Well, you know a lot of people
were you know, there's some things that seem predictable. I
really really, you know, I don't know if you know this.
This is a song like when I when I'm doing
a little bit better and it's and it's you know
I and I'm I'm I'm dying okay, And it gets

(01:13:00):
down to what trainer Sean calls the finisher, and that
is the about the last. Then it varies on time
based on what he wants to do. It could be
twelve minutes, it could be eight minutes, it could be
ten minutes, but it's never good and a lot of
minutes it's hey, we're getting after it. Like yesterday it
was it was eight minutes, which turned into three rounds,

(01:13:22):
which I thought, no way, it would be three rounds
and a lot of rowing. Yeah. I didn't like when
the physical therapist said, now you can pull all you
want to. You just can't get lift up over your head.
But any motion where you're you're rowing. And so when
Sean heard that I could row, he got the rowing
out of me. So but he always plays this song

(01:13:44):
when I knows I'm done and needs some Okay, and
so this is echoing from your house. Okay, all right,
come on right, we're doing the finisher. Now let's go.
And so if I now come into the plate wearing
forty four, do you row to the beat? Yeah? See
that that really fires me up? Crowder higher power?

Speaker 8 (01:14:10):
So that that that's what I was So this I
want Greg to introduce his big brother is what I want? Okay,
huh yeah, I want to now come into the plate, Greg.

Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
Why don't you do?

Speaker 18 (01:14:20):
Now?

Speaker 3 (01:14:20):
Coming into the plate wearing forty four and playing first base?
Rick Burgess, Okay you ready? You're on? Yeah, yeah, you're on.
What's gonna have my big brother? Who I look up to?
Something like that?

Speaker 16 (01:14:30):
Oh okay, yeah, my brother I love.

Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
Here's my brother that I love so much.

Speaker 6 (01:14:36):
I don't know that way.

Speaker 15 (01:14:37):
Just what we gotta do. I got here.

Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
See how this sounds? Hit the stupid music? There we
go now coming to the plate playing first base number
forty four, Rick Burger.

Speaker 7 (01:14:58):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (01:14:59):
I'd like for you to give a little bit more
than that, get like four seconds. You don't mean to
tell his whole life story? Let me give a guy
pump it up four hundred. Listen, I'm standing six foot
even that you gotta be you got former professional. Uh, listen,
we're going to be professional. Picture this. What would you

(01:15:21):
if we were totally unexpected? I mean listen, listen Greg,
completely expected and just picture Friday Show if all of
a sudden we're all just I mean we're in the
total cut up. Anything goes mode, the kind of deal
Austin Greg goes coming up next.

Speaker 16 (01:15:40):
Hunted up.

Speaker 15 (01:15:43):
We grew up in the same room.

Speaker 6 (01:15:45):
I can still see him on the twin bed across around.

Speaker 15 (01:15:50):
Much motor brother.

Speaker 26 (01:15:54):
Know he took my chocolate money hill double like them
always do anything for me.

Speaker 9 (01:16:10):
I got the sting and it's just we grew up
playing balls.

Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
Now we played Roxford Lumber and.

Speaker 16 (01:16:18):
What we could do.

Speaker 26 (01:16:20):
Can you see him over the one bag and throw
his head because look at the way stretches.

Speaker 8 (01:16:28):
What we could do is just a touch of what
some of the upperclassmen due to freshmen in baseball, and
they pick, they picked, and normally it's something real cheesy.

Speaker 3 (01:16:39):
I mean, really they got they got to stay with it,
either for half the season or that day up before
you go go yeah, we need to come out and
you hit it like Thompson Twins, yes, or.

Speaker 16 (01:16:51):
Like man, I feel like a wan.

Speaker 3 (01:16:55):
How funny would it be? Just like you know what
I picked for Rick? Putting on the red thank you? Okay, somebody, somebody,
somebody wants me to walk up to Dirty White Boy.
Tell what I tell you. What's funny is people are
saying we should do something completely unrespected, like y'all are
talking after my incident with their supply. You think it's

(01:17:17):
gonna be this big giant song. And also it's a
love bat it from their supply. It's betting, betting in
the four position playing first base forty four? Rick Bridge,
just come on, love, I'm so lovely that all right?
I'm putting on pinstripes right now? Are you really?

Speaker 15 (01:17:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
I'm not gonna be like uncomfortable. No, I'm gonna y'all
just tell me say, Rick, I'm sorry. Those don't look good?
Are they do?

Speaker 14 (01:17:41):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (01:17:41):
Okay?

Speaker 18 (01:17:42):
Are that a work?

Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
We gotta check you out right here? Well after they
are they two baggies?

Speaker 17 (01:17:45):
The question?

Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
Okay, this is the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 7 (01:18:06):
Listen up.

Speaker 15 (01:18:08):
You know what we say, got a fine light?

Speaker 9 (01:18:19):
We start a brand new.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
Oh sorry, the.

Speaker 1 (01:18:23):
Rick Burgess shoes.

Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
The first time I've sat over here in the one
seat since the new show we started brand new. I
were together.

Speaker 15 (01:18:30):
I am speedy.

Speaker 8 (01:18:31):
There sits Greg and over there through the window is
Adler in the TV room. And now about to enter
h the studio is one Rick Burgess and his pinch.
He's got his revived athletics batting gloves on and his pants,
which I think they fit Rick. I think the pants

(01:18:53):
are a little baggy. Yeah, but in today's style that
the players wear, they're actually not bagging enough. Rick is
a circle the rug and uh and now he's looking
at every He's text you cup, Yeah, they're long, they're
long for.

Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
Those of you. Let me take the soft ball and
throw it Hitch in the critch. Well there here, let
me see. Let me see the ball real quick. What
kind of head do you have on? Okay?

Speaker 8 (01:19:18):
All right, so okay, so Rick is higebye? Oh no no, no, no, no,
no no no, okay, all right, back up, Yeah we go.

Speaker 3 (01:19:27):
Right, got got his pins and stripes. Okay, not bad,
all right, we probably shouldn't be doing this, just oh
why not? Go right there? Okay, all right, ready Okay,
it's not bad. It's not bad.

Speaker 14 (01:19:40):
Rick.

Speaker 3 (01:19:41):
Rick is playing catch right now. He is here we go,
all right, here we go, yeah, okay, here we go.
All right.

Speaker 8 (01:19:50):
So he's across the room, and I know, I know
it's okay. I know your baby brother wants you to
get hurt, but not me. Okay, not bad, not bad.

Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
Not bad. Huh no, No, I'll throw it in far.

Speaker 16 (01:20:03):
How's that far?

Speaker 3 (01:20:04):
Yeah, throw it?

Speaker 8 (01:20:05):
Okay, that's not bad. Yeah, that's not bad, Rick, that's
not bad. It get in those vox seats over there.
There we go right there, all right, play first, Here
we go, all right, good job, all right. Now we're
gonna work on your pick. Okay, all right, No, no,
you're on the bag. You're on the back, coming in
coming in low. Oh yeah, that's why you wear a cup. No, no,

(01:20:32):
a pick is it like it's a low throw and
you got to pick it up, pick it up? Yeah,
but it's okay, let's not let's not. Let's not do
that again. Okay, that kind of a grounder's.

Speaker 3 (01:20:43):
Got a grounder coming at okay, someway, Yeah, okay, not bad.
I like to see you get out front a little bit.

Speaker 12 (01:20:50):
Not let it get under you.

Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
Let's find out. Yeah, yeah, all right, we're rolling balls. Okay,
that's good.

Speaker 9 (01:20:58):
I know.

Speaker 3 (01:20:58):
Oh I'm sorry. I don't think you're on in there, buddy,
Oh god, oh boy, hang on, go ahead.

Speaker 9 (01:21:04):
But we're talking to nobody this whole dang time. Good job, Rick,
your stance looks great.

Speaker 3 (01:21:10):
Nobody heard what I know. I didn't even know you were.

Speaker 9 (01:21:13):
Talking giving commentary. I'm the only one that's actually saying
what's happening in here?

Speaker 3 (01:21:18):
Okay, here we go. I don't hit the line. What
if you hit the light? Here we go. I think
you're gonna be good. You're doing good. I didn't know
you were bat and glove under a uh okay, back
glove under a glove. Guy, I didn't know that. What what?

Speaker 7 (01:21:34):
Huh?

Speaker 3 (01:21:36):
Okay, that's good, that's good. Are you gonna that? That
looks great? Wait?

Speaker 9 (01:21:40):
Why is he wearing a bat and glove under his baseball?

Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
Because your hand don't burn? No, no, no, no, well
they're not. Yeah, they're about today's standards. They're actually tight comparadom.

Speaker 9 (01:21:55):
You need your glass.

Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
You need to be able to see. Buddy. All right, Rick,
we're gonna work on some pit here. I need to
be able to see. We're gonna work on some Yeah, yeah,
I think you got to work cup every day. I do, Yeah,
Handler does.

Speaker 9 (01:22:12):
Just in case your squad looks great?

Speaker 14 (01:22:17):
Rick?

Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
Eh, boy, So Idler was talking the whole time. Nobody
over him. Rick ain't gonna hurt you. Go over. You're
throwing three feet.

Speaker 9 (01:22:29):
One more time. Oh that looked good. Oh that throw
looked bad.

Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
Here.

Speaker 16 (01:22:36):
Uh yeah, how are you?

Speaker 9 (01:22:42):
It's spitting tobacco. Rick, you're good at that? We go
part of baseball rounder brown?

Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
Oh boy?

Speaker 15 (01:22:51):
Oh wow?

Speaker 3 (01:22:52):
Oh the under arm. I like FLI glove don't really,
don't flip.

Speaker 9 (01:23:05):
Don't flip? What does that mean?

Speaker 3 (01:23:10):
Speed?

Speaker 16 (01:23:10):
Where's your glove?

Speaker 3 (01:23:12):
Speedy? Where's your Okay?

Speaker 6 (01:23:16):
That's okay.

Speaker 9 (01:23:17):
People cannot hear y'all.

Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
People can't hear you, guys, I can't y'all need to
give commentary.

Speaker 9 (01:23:22):
Guys, we're trying to talk to you.

Speaker 6 (01:23:25):
You can't hear me.

Speaker 9 (01:23:25):
So it's not working.

Speaker 3 (01:23:27):
My gosh, talking in the whole first time. That was good.
All right, So we're good. You're good.

Speaker 9 (01:23:35):
You were good, Thank y'all.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
Commentary. Yeah, alright, you look great, Bud, good job. All right.
I feel good. I felt good.

Speaker 9 (01:23:43):
You're quicker on your feet than I thought you would be.

Speaker 3 (01:23:45):
Well, you know, so you never saw seventy five?

Speaker 9 (01:23:48):
Yeah, I thought you'd be real slow, Like did you really?

Speaker 16 (01:23:52):
Yes?

Speaker 15 (01:23:53):
Straight up?

Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
So you forgot I didn't have a glove, quicker on
your feet, and wow, I had of breath rile? Allright,
just a little movement.

Speaker 8 (01:24:03):
At what point did you forget I didn't have a
glove on? Did you think we were playing catch or something?
Let me tell where I made a mistake for you.

Speaker 3 (01:24:09):
Is I started seeing how how fast can I throw
it underhanded back to somebody if I need to make
a play.

Speaker 8 (01:24:14):
Okay, because the rot I hope you're not gonna throw
I'd rather you have a torn rotator cup than throw
the ball the way you just did in front of everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:24:22):
No, I got that. That's what I want to ask y'all.
I just blow the rotator cuff throw down here. No, yeah,
that's not going to hurt it. It's not gonna hurt it.

Speaker 15 (01:24:32):
Just flick it.

Speaker 3 (01:24:33):
How do you feel about me trying to throw you
one like that? There is there's a but that was
gonna get mad if we do that again.

Speaker 9 (01:24:41):
No, I'm not. But we need to talk about what
we're happening.

Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
I'm sorry, I'll be He was taking me on right
then he had to get me ready. Greg, just sitting
here watching. I just got caught up watching, you know,
watch and my surprising quickness. Yes, forgot that we were
even just was watching.

Speaker 9 (01:24:57):
What looks great? Forming the squad looks good?

Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
Yeah? Oh I can squat baby, what do you think
I am?

Speaker 9 (01:25:02):
You can pop a squad?

Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
Yes, I can pop a squad. Yeah, absolutely, it'll be good.

Speaker 9 (01:25:06):
But do we got to talk about it?

Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
Yeah? You're not gonna do this during the game, are you?
And just watch in the game. This is right. So
I'm gonna I'm gonna get hit within the cup. By
the way, I did that first one he threw because
I misunderstood what he meant by pick. Yeah, you know
what I thought, Well, you we don't pick people off
in softball. I thought you were like a picture throwing over.
Now I'm just.

Speaker 8 (01:25:25):
Saying if other people haven't been playing, but they're athletic,
the throws might not be. You're right, and so you
know you need to You're right about that, and you
also need to way you know, is it worth trying
to get that ball?

Speaker 18 (01:25:38):
Well?

Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
I will tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:25:39):
When I'm in the game, there's gonna be something that
will take over that that I have to make every
catch and I have to make every play. I don't
know how not to do that.

Speaker 9 (01:25:49):
Didn't you hurt yourself dancing though when we recently did?

Speaker 3 (01:25:53):
But I worked on that. I've been working on my hips,
my hips. My hipster is good as he's in rehab.

Speaker 9 (01:25:59):
Didn't you cheer your icept like putting up a swing?

Speaker 3 (01:26:01):
I did?

Speaker 14 (01:26:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
Yeah, But that's my point.

Speaker 15 (01:26:04):
You know what I thought.

Speaker 3 (01:26:05):
I have to get that rope over that limb. That's
what that's where I go to crash. Yeah. If we
have a man on first and he's going to second,
and they hit it to you and you step on
the bag, you can't you try to throw the second
So if I underhand it to second, then y'all can't
have that. Y'all rather me be in hospital? You would
you rather me have surgery than the underhand throw to
second base for a double play? Yeah? What I would

(01:26:28):
like for you to do that.

Speaker 8 (01:26:30):
I just like for you to go like, Okay, that's
what you really threw that you threw it, Just flick it.
I just like for you to flick it, Greg, won't
you play with him and I'll I'll help.

Speaker 9 (01:26:42):
Yeah, he'll actually talk. Greg, just sitting there like with
your thumb up your no no no no no no
no side like a side arm.

Speaker 3 (01:26:51):
Like let me yeah so Greg, yeah yeah yeah yeah,
just like a like a submarine side arm. There you go.
Was good. See that that didn't hurt your cup? Did
it hurts the wall?

Speaker 7 (01:27:04):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:27:04):
He did? He missed the chair. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:27:06):
So we're throwing across the studio. We have a softball
that Rick went and purchased yesterday. He's got his pin
strip prisoner squad is he is on top of the logo,
which happens to be his face.

Speaker 7 (01:27:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:27:18):
Uh and uh, we're just kind of throwing the ball
around a little bit. We apologize if some of you
were a little lost. Uh ready, yeah we do.

Speaker 3 (01:27:25):
We have to get ready. Uh and we're gonna work
more on that night. So we we have decided the
gloves Okay.

Speaker 8 (01:27:32):
Gloves fine, yet looks really good.

Speaker 3 (01:27:36):
Pinstripes works. It works a little baggy, but not overly
in today's standard. They're not even back.

Speaker 21 (01:27:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:27:44):
You see, like I said Sabbath when he was when
he was out, I like to play they felt better
when they were skin time, like you don't kind of
open up the side here and just okay, the throwing,
we got to work on the throwing. Yeah, and then
that way it never hurts it because it stays down.
Do we have a bat in here? I'd like to
hit a few. Yeah, and here so we do have
some good bats. Yes, we do have some swing. Sure.

(01:28:08):
All right, we'll be ready about Greg are watching?

Speaker 1 (01:28:10):
This is the Rick Burchers Show, the only show hosted
by an Oxford graduates, well Oxford High School, The Rick Burchise.

Speaker 3 (01:28:31):
Show seventy five played a little ball. So we're back now,
all right, So if you're the texture on text Nation,
and you just text us that we told this story.
Greg and I actually played on a little league team
that was sponsored by a funeral home called Miller Funeral Home.

(01:28:56):
And sadly they put MF on our hats. Yes, and
it made for a long season for some ten year
old little boys.

Speaker 22 (01:29:05):
And so.

Speaker 3 (01:29:07):
If you sent that picture to us, would you please
email that to Adler Adler at Rick Burgesshow dot com.
Adler at Rick burgesshow dot com because I know a
lot of you because we do have comedic license and
you say, well, they've got to be exaggerating that story.
Nobody would put a Little League team out there with
Miller Funeral Home on their shirt and MF on their hair,

(01:29:28):
but they did. They did. And so if you were
the one who just texts that, will you email that
because I want him to be able to show it
on the screen for all the tubers to see. Yeah,
and possibly even one of us posts on Instagram today
of course. Uh, the so adler at Rick burgesshow dot com.

Speaker 9 (01:29:46):
And I can show a blurry version of it, but
that's just me showing you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:29:51):
Yeah, yeah, we need it. You need that pick. Yeah,
all right, so I think, I mean, I've got to
work on a few things. Play Pepper a little bit
and the break.

Speaker 17 (01:29:59):
Now what is that?

Speaker 9 (01:30:00):
There is just the blurry version of it.

Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
Yeah, there's the blurry version, but there's at least proof
there it is. I think you can see the hats
and you see it clearly says on our jerseys Miller Funeral.

Speaker 15 (01:30:11):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:30:11):
And and there's our hats. That's me in the middle,
and there's Greg looking as ever joyful.

Speaker 15 (01:30:18):
This is Greg right here.

Speaker 9 (01:30:19):
Yes, oh my goodness.

Speaker 3 (01:30:21):
And I guess it's got a knee. He's on the
front road because he's not as tall as.

Speaker 8 (01:30:26):
Shorty and Rick is the centerpiece in the back, about
as big as one of the coaches.

Speaker 3 (01:30:31):
Yeah that's now there. I'm only maybe the one center
pick there. I'm ten, maybe eleven. We're ten, we're ten,
you're ten, I'm nine.

Speaker 14 (01:30:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:30:41):
So the next year I get even larger. But anyway,
so and by the time I'm twelve, I'm six foot
but anyway, so there there's the famous thing about yeah,
well speedy your assessment. Am I ready? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:30:55):
I think you're ready. I think you're ready. What you've
got to be concerned about is you haven't swung a lot.
So you got to really because I got that motion, Yeah,
got to do that, and then we just got to
move a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:31:06):
Uh and and it's really the maybe they won't have
a lot.

Speaker 8 (01:31:09):
It's the velocity of the ball coming to you and
your mind tells you, ooh, it's coming to me. But
then you have to have the reaction to get the
glove up.

Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
And uh. Right now, Adler's showing a little bit of
b roll that we had. Uh during the commercial break. Okay,
so I really in your mind you think you look younger,
So that really does like a no man, I mean
you g beard a lot of gray Beard, your silver fox.

(01:31:39):
That's right.

Speaker 15 (01:31:40):
Fine.

Speaker 8 (01:31:40):
Look now this is where we change and I want
you to have the glove and then I have the
bat and and then now you get the grounder and
toss it back to me and I just hit.

Speaker 3 (01:31:48):
It back like little pepper. Now we're now we're just
we're pepper and trying to find out a way. Somebody
did say that I can have surgery for the rotator cup,
but what about my pride? That's what I'm saying. I
can't you understand the side on throw? Not really, not really.
I worked on it a little bit when I threw
it against the wall, but it's like I can't make
myself do it really underarm. No, it's just a little

(01:32:10):
side arms, just like the run. Okay, yeah, I got you.
Yeah you're moving five. Those pinstripes are a little baggy, Greg.
I mean, Rick, are you gonna have a belt?

Speaker 15 (01:32:20):
Time?

Pepper and a little bit Rick is all we're doing. Speedy.

Speaker 9 (01:32:29):

Speaker 3 (01:32:33):
Come on, river, I mean rick rick so uh so, yeah,
I think I think I'm ready. I practiced my swings

Speaker 3 (01:32:50):
To be honest, we do.

Speaker 9 (01:32:52):
We just have to work.

Speaker 3 (01:32:53):
We have to work on the throw. Just hey, hey
right here, because you're not going to be like you
got the only thing you've got? Can you going out there? Okay? Okay,
are you gonna keep your your uh your bat and gloves?
No you, I'm gonna throw to you. I'm gonna throw
with your baton, gloves on.

Speaker 9 (01:33:07):
Well, I think Ricky is gonna wear the band gloves
the entire He's gonna wear.

Speaker 3 (01:33:13):
What's up? All right, So I'm gonna all right, so
this side arm throw? All right? So so you're talking
about just right there, you're doing that okay here okay
from behind the board. Yeah, okay, you're talking about here.

Speaker 9 (01:33:30):
Yeah, that's a you throw it, very speedy, good catch.

Speaker 3 (01:33:35):
Yeah okay, okay, well that feels weird. Yeah, something's gonna happen.

Speaker 9 (01:33:43):
Yeah, something's gonna breaks, drop, drop.

Speaker 3 (01:33:47):
A lot of stuff right there.

Speaker 21 (01:33:49):
Here we go.

Speaker 3 (01:33:50):
That's not okay, all right stuff, So I just come
throwing it right over the board, gonna land right on
the button. That's the that's not bothering. Try trying to
try to crow hop it.

Speaker 9 (01:34:02):
Yeah, don't crow hot there you go. Oh my goodness,
all right, all are serious?

Speaker 15 (01:34:10):
Or wow?

Speaker 9 (01:34:14):
The board is right there, you guys.

Speaker 22 (01:34:16):
It is.

Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
A bounce one off the board. See if he can
play it? Yeah, it's it's like, alright, here we go,
just right here, bounce one off the board.

Speaker 9 (01:34:25):
That feel better? I like rotation on it. Oh, I
don't know about that.

Speaker 3 (01:34:30):
Get your fingers behind it.

Speaker 9 (01:34:32):
Get your fingers behind it.

Speaker 3 (01:34:33):
Okay, Oh is that batter? Yeah, he's coming around.

Speaker 9 (01:34:40):
Looks like Nolan Ryan.

Speaker 3 (01:34:41):
Play it first, and the guy's coming around.

Speaker 27 (01:34:44):
You go home.

Speaker 3 (01:34:45):
I had had a little bit of tange right then.
I think I didn't do enough little tange.

Speaker 9 (01:34:49):
Nolan Ryan? Who Rick Nolan Ryan. Yeah, that's a picture,
going home.

Speaker 3 (01:34:54):
That's a picture. Hey, it's fine. Remember we have to
end on a good one. Okah, all right, okay, you do.

Speaker 9 (01:35:09):
Have to end on a good, pops. You gotta end
on a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
You got the camera, that was a camera. It's like
you're flicking a booger. Okay, now that I get he's
done that. There's your burger. That burger cain't help. Yeah,
there's your burger.

Speaker 9 (01:35:28):
There's your googer.

Speaker 3 (01:35:29):
Hey, now that's boogery. Maybe I just wrong generation. I
think if you throw it like that, you're good.

Speaker 8 (01:35:37):
Yeah, and that most people when they're playing, they're gonna
be laughing and cutting up.

Speaker 9 (01:35:40):
Anyway, did you injure yourself just now before the game?

Speaker 3 (01:35:43):
Right? No, I'm good?

Speaker 9 (01:35:44):
Okay, good.

Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
I would like to get and he's done. If I
had time and I didn't think it was shut the
show down. I do a few pop ups in the
parking lot.

Speaker 14 (01:35:51):
You could do that.

Speaker 3 (01:35:53):
Greg could play by play and sit there walking. I'll say, Man,
that's good. Will work when you you're honest, Do you win? Now?

Speaker 15 (01:35:59):
I kind of just got.

Speaker 3 (01:36:01):
I think any I think any time a sixty year
old man says I'll take a shot out of everybody goes, well,
let's see how that works. All right, So we'll come
back next. We're gonna turn and work on flyball communication. Okay,
oh yeah, yeah, Well how many times I have it
first up in foul territory. You gotta run over and
get that all right? So uh those you Birmingham, if
you can get there Rick wood Field, tomorrow night, four pm,

(01:36:22):
first pitch, we'll get the line. We'll have the lineups
tomorrow too. Yeah, we can share with you, so we'll
be back to work on cuts. Fine, I'm gonna put
my regular banks back on. These are hotter than I expect.

Speaker 1 (01:36:32):
We'll be right back us. This is the Rick Burgess Show.

(01:36:53):
Sure he played a little ball, Rick Birches.

Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
Hright, we're back. Thanks for being with us today. Some
of you are like me. You have been through the
yo yo diet. Hey I did a little better. Took
the weight off, put it back on. Touch some weight off,

say two years? Oh yeah, didn't it too? Is it
two years? Two years ago? Today? Today? I call it

(01:38:32):
puppy Hell?

Speaker 14 (01:38:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:38:35):
I had eight puppies come into the world and their
mother pass out and have surgery and me and Lisa
end up handfeeding them and it was just eight weeks
of hell. It really was. I mean, they were cute
and all that were they? They weren't that cute? Goodness?
Millie the stray dog. Yes, that y'all took in was pregnant, yes,
and had had puppies two years ago today, yes, this day. Yeah,

(01:38:59):
he was when I started that whole boy and what.

Speaker 8 (01:39:02):
There were times I was really concerned about you. You
know sometimes when you see somebody they look tired, but
then they're like then they're they're shaking tired like and
taking deep breasts like they're not well. And I remember
telling you you need to go home because he was
trying to work the mouse in the production room and
that index finger was shaken and and I'm like, Greg,

(01:39:24):
I'm concerned.

Speaker 3 (01:39:25):
You can't have a sleep. Different visions will. I am
proud to report this. Lisa, not me. His main maintained
keeping up with the puppies two years.

Speaker 14 (01:39:36):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (01:39:36):
In fact, I got video of Elvis, whose name is
now Lake. Yeah, that's what's fair. I got. Lisa sent
me a list of the names we named him and
what everybody else combat from overseas. Puppy Hell, Puffy Hell,
Elvis Lake. And he's a big, tall, black long They're
all pretty big, you know, Millie is not huge. And

(01:39:58):
then Bob Sieger's his name is Little Bobby Burgess by
the way, Little Bobby Burgess. Yes, Tom Petty is still Tom.
He's the one rides with the truck driver. So Tom,
these are all that. Now, little Lisa'll probably hear from
all day. They keep in touch with her. And uh,
George Georgie is now Jack. Now you're gonna love these two.

(01:40:18):
These were both taken in Sturgis, Mississippi. They took two
of them, Tammy Whynette and Loretta Lynn. Now they're named
Thelma and Louis. And then Daisy Jones, she's still Daisy,
and Dolly Partons Dolly. They also were taken as a pair,
and they live in Center with the bishops and are

(01:40:39):
still alive. Oh yeah, And Lisa's in touch with guests,
reports by them and all this, and that's nice and
cute and all that. But I'm just telling you it was.
It was something.

Speaker 8 (01:40:49):
And for those of you who don't know, they went
and bought a little, a little blow up kiddie pool,
oh several and he would put him in the garage
and he would you would keep getting bigger. One got big,
and that's where they would just play in Tom.

Speaker 3 (01:41:02):
But Tom could get out of it. The others cutting
and then he would get out of it and then
he put herself back in it, and uh, it was unreleased.
I don't know how many pools I went there, because
then they would bust them, they would, they would chew
on them. I had to go buy another. You get
to corral them in something. So many lessons to learn.
Don't put food down for straight dogs. Now that's where
it all started. Uh, spade and you do put food down? Yeah,

(01:41:24):
go get her spade spade and newter, Yeah, do that
and uh and that's one of them things. I kept going,
I needed if she's gonna hang around here, I need
to do something about that. Well too late, way too
ls that opportunity when when when I when my mom
told me our bomb? Have you talked to Greg? And
I'm like, what's going on? Do you know how many

(01:41:46):
puppies that dog had? And I'm like, I don't know
what's going on? And Mom couldn't contain herself. She was
laughing your yeah, because I said I maybe she'll have
two or three, you know, yeah, and she'd have me.
Uh had nine eight survived?

Speaker 6 (01:41:57):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (01:41:58):
How about that?

Speaker 8 (01:41:59):
And then you saw all nine of them born, So
watching that was quite the experience. Okay, Now tell me
if I'm wrong. I'm getting real specific here. You went
to go get some food. I think it was Bow James. Yeah,
and you pull back up to the house and it's happening.

Speaker 3 (01:42:13):
It's going on. Lisa's come out and said she's had
a puppy. I'm like great, and then she runs up
beside me and takes off running. I get out and
there's another one. She's just dropping them. Yeah. Then she
goes finally into the garage and just has the rest
of them over hours, but then goes on to pass out. Yes,
it hadn't been revived by uh syrup because her syrup

(01:42:34):
her blood sugar got low.

Speaker 15 (01:42:36):
Syrup.

Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
Hey, I will say this. She immediately came back. So
doctor Berry with a good call on that. Okay, she
had an infection and they had to do emergency surgery
on her. Oh my gosh, what her ended up being spade.
Then that was the whole process, and the puppies aren't
old enough to survive, and then she was trying to
nurse them. She wasn't doing very good. Plus the whole

(01:42:58):
time she was she had this day at the bet
so we're feeding them with bottles and droppers out here.
In Lisa's commentary, you weren't big at all, and you
had to see you got to do that about every
three hours. Every three hours about this big you hand fed? Yeah,
stray dogs, puppies. The stages we went through. Straight dog

(01:43:23):
is pregnant stage one, stage dogs having puppies, Stage two,
straight dog passed out, Stage three, straight dog now has
to have surgery Stage four. Uh, and you meet the
vet in the middle of the night on that and
and now i'm feeding. Remember this is not Greg and
Lisa's dog. This dog shows up out of nowhere. And
this is also a lesson. You know, keep up with

(01:43:44):
you dogs. And if you don't want the dog, don't
just set them free. Uh, do something with the dog.
You're you're you're running other people. You need to kill Greg?
How about this? People not taking care of the dogs
nearly killed Greg. And I was trying to just give
them away. And then Lisa said, well, I'm going to
vet people, which I thought that the people just want

(01:44:04):
a puppy. They're fine. So we go through that. But
she did a great job because they're all as of today,
they're all doing well. And I know because we get
really and I'm sure Lisa gets some pictures today which
I like, they're grown. It's like I said, a lot
of them are pretty big. The sucker four thousand, that
was a great part of Well we got to see
the secular for the drama. And like I said, it

(01:44:26):
doesn't seem like two years, but it really doesn't. Has
there ever been anything in your life as disruptive as this? No,
not for that long a time. That was a major disruption.
We're saying disruption. I mean there's a lot now I'm
talking about that. People don't start here. Yeah, as I
get it's just a bunch of puppies. It's not the
end of the world, but but a lot as far

(01:44:47):
as taking your normal life and turning it upside that absolutely, right, absolutely,
because you're your your your life for how many how
many how long? Became eight weeks, became puppies, puppies, puppies.
Ye feed them handf It'd be different if you just
had puppies and their moms out there. Yeah, that's completely different.

Speaker 9 (01:45:06):
And she did a little bit, but not and then Speedy.
You were trying to feed them, and Speedy tested that
puppy feeder for you.

Speaker 3 (01:45:12):
He chased the suckler. Yeah, and I couldn't look at
that I couldn't get them. They didn't latch onto the suckler.
I say, it was like my hope. I thought, man,
this is what you need to really pull on it
because it didn't want to come out.

Speaker 16 (01:45:23):
Yeah, yes you did.

Speaker 8 (01:45:25):
Yeah I had to really, guys, did Are you showing
it right?

Speaker 9 (01:45:31):
Pumpies wouldn't latch on, but Speedy did.

Speaker 3 (01:45:33):
Yes, he did. Good? Exactly there it is. I was hesitant,
but once I went in and I started sucking, You're
welcome for that because my whole problem led to the suckler,
which ended up being a great bit.

Speaker 28 (01:45:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:45:43):
As you said, the puppies couldn't get milk out of it,
but Speedy.

Speaker 1 (01:45:46):
Did, did it?

Speaker 8 (01:45:49):
You know, when you are trying to recover from something
like you just tired. I don't think it's been two years.
I don't think you're still I don't think you fully recover.

Speaker 3 (01:45:56):
You fully recover, that's a great question. Years off my life,
have you fully recovered?

Speaker 11 (01:46:01):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:46:02):
Do you have your full energy back? I don't think so. Yeah,
I think you're all right. I'm lying to myself like
I do. But I think I got to get one
more year. In part of it is you still have Milly. Yeah,
but she's she's finally selling in a little better. She
don't like you, though, no, and doesn't even appreciate what
you did in the middle of the nast took it
to the vet. She's starting now to give me a
little more, but she's still not big on worre's the

(01:46:23):
appreciation from this dog. Look, and I'll tell you what
she will do. She'll get out the bird fit and
run the birds off the old buddy. She'll come busting
the house ly like that, because she loves your birds.
She does like her birds. But and she'll I understand.
She'll chew things up outside. Yeah, and that's getting a
little better. And when she chewed the maddest I've ever
been when she chewed the garage door, the wiring to

(01:46:44):
the garage door three times. I had to splice it
back together. And the last time she bit it also clothes.
I almost couldn't splice it back together. And that's when
I gave her a speech. She didn't bring anything to
the table. Lisa came out out to the garage and said,
I can hear you, what if there's something wrong with
why are you doing? And she has no idea what
you're saying, there atio cushions, got them like it eat them. Yeah,

(01:47:11):
but anyway, half you anniversary. I've had her two years
ago today, they're going to day two years ago today.
Unscreened phone calls coming up next.

Speaker 1 (01:47:22):

made the decision as we were kind of trying new
things that we would go with unscreen phone calls seems
to work better. Actually, now if you're calling, that means
you're going to hear just the phone ring. Nobody's going
to pick it up and say hey, stand by, they'll
be weed a minute. None of that. It is just
wide open. So we just make the decision on the

(01:48:25):
fly on whether to keep you or get rid of you,
when to end the call, and all that. Of course,
you have the pressure of bringing something to the table
that's always there in a phone segment to So fire
up now at eight eight eight, the number six big vox,

Thank you find it pretty interesting?

Speaker 3 (01:49:04):
Okay, yes, no way, I'm pitching, by the way. Yeah,
but I haven't seen that, so am I get anything
like that? I do see pitch just one batter?

Speaker 12 (01:49:12):
This one?

Speaker 18 (01:49:12):
Was?

Speaker 7 (01:49:12):
That?

Speaker 3 (01:49:13):
Was that the one where the picture runs over and
d Cleet's a guy who hit a home run when
round third. I did see that, and that's fun. That
might have been from you. I'm not sure we continue. Hello,
you're on unscreen phone calls, Go ahead.

Speaker 23 (01:49:25):
Hey, my name is Amanda Anderson and my dad and

Tell me to watch the show. How about that Mark
chef you Tuesday? This is like a baby.

Speaker 10 (01:49:53):

Speaker 23 (01:49:53):
And I have another question. Do you want Mimi's chocolate
fudge cake or peanut brittle?

Speaker 3 (01:49:59):
I'd rather have peanut brittle, yes to both.

Speaker 23 (01:50:02):
Put the chocolate fudge cake is the Noah and then
it's got a load of food on.

Speaker 17 (01:50:08):

peanut brittle, Speedy, I know what you want, fudge Kate, Greg,
you know what, You're gonna be surprised as much as
I want fudge cake, and I can't have both. I
just I haven't had any good peanut brittle in a
while because that last the one Gary made last was terrible.
You just have to go with him. You're you're the
deciding vote here.

Speaker 9 (01:50:31):
Well, let me ask the what's this lady's name?

Speaker 3 (01:50:33):

Speaker 9 (01:50:40):

What's going to make a bigger splash.

Speaker 23 (01:50:46):
I mean, I love the corner piece of the Suge Cat.

Speaker 9 (01:50:51):
I'm going to fudge cake.

Speaker 3 (01:50:52):
I just don't know why I both can't come because

Speaker 23 (01:51:02):
I'll try mam Is ninety three and me.

Speaker 3 (01:51:07):

the in the You're like, y'all don't need to miss
out on the fudge cake. That's what you're saying, don't you.

Speaker 23 (01:51:18):
I mean, Mimi is a spring chicken. She can probably
do both.

Speaker 3 (01:51:21):
No, no, it's not don't rob me of the blessing.
He just robbed me of the blessing. Just three call
bring both of Mimi is willing? Got broking over? I
wonder if she's announcing that she's to her dad that
they're coming, and she had just now announced to Memmi

(01:51:43):
just her.

Speaker 6 (01:51:43):
N how'd y'all drag me into this again? She's knowing
about what am I making?

Speaker 22 (01:51:49):
What?

Speaker 3 (01:51:50):
So how about he's a good woman She'll make only
if Mimi. If Mimi says it's one or the other.

Speaker 28 (01:51:56):
Go with.

Speaker 6 (01:51:56):
The fingers are hurting. My knuckles are the sides of baseball?

Speaker 3 (01:52:00):
Okay, speaking of all.

Speaker 6 (01:52:01):
Ball, look at my knuckles.

Speaker 3 (01:52:04):
Okay, there goes never getting.

Speaker 6 (01:52:05):

Speaker 18 (01:52:25):

the good job field to go into for me?

Speaker 3 (01:52:29):
You're you're asking us. You realize we wouldn't even have
a job if God wasn't just gracious what you said.
We made this happen. I mean, we we're the wrong
people to ask you mind working with your hands? There
you go a lot of that after you a hard worker.
I try to work on a farm.

Speaker 17 (01:52:46):
Here you go.

Speaker 3 (01:52:48):
Yeah, your trade specializing, Yeah, go with the trade. We
need more of that than all the sudden. Yeah, be
like Speedy's son, electrician, plumber, welder. Yeah. Uh you know
that that those those fields are wide open. You make
great money and something you you're interested in, some you're
passionate about. Buddy, you'll kill it and something that AI
and robots can't replace.

Speaker 9 (01:53:09):
Do be thinking about small?

Speaker 3 (01:53:10):
That is true. That's a good word thereb.

Speaker 9 (01:53:12):
You're gonna be working for a long time at your
age to think about, you know, robots getting better and
AI getting better and you don't even know how computer's
works have.

Speaker 3 (01:53:19):
Shut up.

Speaker 9 (01:53:22):
That's Larry. That's Larry.

Speaker 3 (01:53:24):
Sorry, I'm sorry. You're on the Rick Burgers Show. Unscreened
phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 14 (01:53:31):
This is Sunny should I had a question for Greg.
Is he's still having trouble with a dog chewing stuff up?

Speaker 3 (01:53:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (01:53:40):
Man, I got a cure for you, brother. What's that
absolutely destroyed my doorcations? Yeah, and took me some Tabasco
sauce and rubbed it on the cations and let them
chew on that. That did it from chewing stuff up?

Speaker 3 (01:54:00):
Sonny. I always wanted to ask people name Thank you, Sonny.
I always wanted to ask people name Sonny A question.
Do you feel pressure? Do you feel pressure to always
be in a good mood? I mean.

Speaker 14 (01:54:12):
Not really. I try to stay in a good mood
much as a team.

Speaker 3 (01:54:15):
Because if somebody's name Sonny is inboy been around somebody
who was named Sonny and they were a drag. I mean,
you can't, you can't. It's almost the o n n
Sonny's compared to the su n n y Sonny. That's
a great point. Look at you. That's a good point.
You go, Sonny, and you got Sonny Glynn my uncle
Sonny rode back into town. We continue, Welcome to the

(01:54:37):
Rick Burgess Show. You're on unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 16 (01:54:39):
Go, hey, Rick, I've got your walk up song that
you need to do.

Speaker 3 (01:54:42):
Thank you. Let me let me, let me introduce you
if I can, please, okay, all right.

Speaker 6 (01:54:50):
Now being.

Speaker 3 (01:54:55):
Number forty four.

Speaker 21 (01:54:57):
Plane, first base, Rick, but.

Speaker 14 (01:55:03):
Big box, burn.

Speaker 3 (01:55:05):
Gass and then not songs from Cinderella starts playing the intro.
You know, if I could just have a song and
not you doing it, I think, no, my goodness, that
he was trying. You can't have a song that cool
and the announcer that uncool.

Speaker 9 (01:55:23):
Yeah, I thought he sounded great.

Speaker 3 (01:55:25):
I thought it was Michael Buffer.

Speaker 9 (01:55:26):
I thought it was Porky Pig.

Speaker 3 (01:55:30):
By the way, By the way, his normal voice, his
normal voice sounded better than his announce like coaching the Raindeer.
Was that a playoff at the time? Landry Drop, Yes, okay,

(01:55:51):
I think it was my favorite drop.

Speaker 15 (01:55:55):
Tom and Greg.

Speaker 3 (01:55:57):
Someone did say, based on the video we saw the
other day, are you sure the best way to get
a dog to stop doing anything is apparently stick your
finger up there? But yeah, yeah, maybe that's better than
if you're just joining us. We might have no idea
what we're talking about. That video was still so shocking.
It's top of the hour that's on our YouTube channel
right now.

Speaker 14 (01:56:17):
If you want to go.

Speaker 1 (01:56:19):
Caution, this is the Rick Burchers Show.

Speaker 6 (01:56:35):
You better listen up.

Speaker 15 (01:56:38):
You know what we say.

Speaker 3 (01:56:41):
As I'm in a.

Speaker 9 (01:56:44):
You gotta find.

Speaker 1 (01:56:49):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burchers Show.

Speaker 3 (01:56:55):
And here we go a brand new hour. Thank you
for being with us America. The gang is all here today, Speedie,
Greg Adler. We have already done a lot. If you
missed any that, catch those daily archives either on our
YouTube channel or our podcast channel. Whatever you may have
missed on the live run, you can catch it on

(01:57:18):
your own time, so take advantage of that. And there's
a lot going on this week this weekend in Sweet Home, Alabama.
Have you ever tried Alabama grown strawberries? We got a
bucket of them right here, and they are fantastic the

(01:57:39):
Alabama Strawberry Festival in historic Coleman, Alabama, and we have
back Nathan Anderson to say hello to all of you
into the show and brought us some delicious strawberries. Thank
you very much, buddy, I mean we are so thankful.

Speaker 12 (01:57:57):
Well, thank you for having me and love the new studio.
This is great. Thank you for having us.

Speaker 3 (01:58:00):
Well, we're you know, we're having a good time. Adler
and got together and with some great people and gave
us a redesign that that we love. We're having a blast. Now.
We've got strawberries and uh and they're they're Alabama. Not
just Alabama grown, these are grown in Coleman, Alabama.

Speaker 29 (01:58:17):
Well you know that's the capital of the state. Yeah, yeah,
I mean the best strawberries come from Coleman, Alabama. I
mean these things have been the cast crops since the
late eighteen hundreds.

Speaker 3 (01:58:26):
Oh really, and they're sweet and they're right. This is
peak time right.

Speaker 12 (01:58:29):
Now, that's right. I'm telling you.

Speaker 29 (01:58:31):
We got word from them early this week that we
could not have timed it better. This is the peak
sweat form.

Speaker 3 (01:58:37):
Good day.

Speaker 29 (01:58:38):
Look, you can't just eat warm. I'm telling you the
buck it's going to be gone too.

Speaker 30 (01:58:42):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
The beauty of a strawberry too. We were talking about
this in the break is nobody gives your hard time
about strawberries. You know, they're delicious and they don't and
they don't have a lot of calories and you can
just as well or a dakie, you know, absolutely yeah,
so so well you know that dog, I'm Baptist or
Virgin dach. But listen, this is there's a lot going

(01:59:07):
on you guys. You won't believe the musical acts they've
got this weekend. Impressive. And I want to tell you
if you plan on going or maybe I'd just start
talking about it and Nathan start talking about it and
you're like, hey, I might do that. Russell Dickerson, Chase Matthew, Lauren, Elena,
the name a few and Austin Williams, Sam Donald. The

(01:59:28):
list goes on and on. What quite a lineup it is.

Speaker 29 (01:59:32):
And I'm telling you you would be hard pressed anywhere
in this area to find a lineup like that that's free, right,
So I wouldn't you know, if you're really into the music,
I'd go buy tickets. It's gonna be worth it. It's
not you know, not pricy at all. But if you
just want to go, you don't know, maybe you don't
know them all. You don't you're not into the music
festival side. You can go for free and come and

(01:59:53):
go any time you like. But I promise you're gonna
want to stay around for the concert, So that's important.

Speaker 3 (01:59:58):
Tickets not required for entry, but if you want good
seats for the actual music part, probably probably worth it
to get a tickt absolutely, but it's not required.

Speaker 29 (02:00:06):
Yeah, your best few best seats. You don't have to
fight the crowd, you get their show up. Yeah, of
course we all know what speed you would option. He
would take what I would buy? No, no, when and
if Speedy heard, hey I can see good enough from
here for free.

Speaker 3 (02:00:21):
Yes, I can't hear.

Speaker 15 (02:00:23):
I can't hear.

Speaker 3 (02:00:23):
Find it back here and neat a strawberry.

Speaker 1 (02:00:25):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (02:00:26):
So, And we were talking in the break. You know,
Russell Dickerson has been around a while, but Chase Matthew boy, he.

Speaker 29 (02:00:31):
Is he's I'm telling you is the ticket sales are
up sixty percent over last year.

Speaker 12 (02:00:37):
I huge, it's there. I know this lineup, it's solid.

Speaker 3 (02:00:42):
Yeah, all right, So we talked about music. We know
everything Strawberry is going to be there. What are some
other things? If I wanted to go this weekend, it's
going to be this Friday and Saturday. Right now, I
will tell you that our state for those of you
that may be coming in from other states, Uh, this
is it. This is probably what we can you know,
chamber of commerce kind of weather.

Speaker 17 (02:01:02):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:01:02):
And by the weekend. We got some thunderstorms kicking around
little bit the first few days of the week, but
it's going to just get better as the week goes.
But right now, if you've never experienced springtime in Alabama,
this is the time to come. Yeah.

Speaker 29 (02:01:14):
Yeah, I mean all this weather's just teeing it up
for a beautiful weekend. So it's going to be great.
And yeah, you mentioned the attractions. You know, I met
with an eighth grade class. If you want honesty, get
get in front of an eighth grade class. Yes, we
feel pretty special, you know, until we get them from
the eighth grade class what we're doing wrong? And you know,
they said, well, you got a lot of great young

(02:01:35):
kid stuff and what are you doing for us? And
I'm like, what do you mean, what do you want?
I mean, We've got everything. And one of the things
they mentioned was a ninja course. They wanted to like
you see on TV American ninja's. I'm thinking, well, I
haven't never thought about that. Do these guys even exist
as they're this mobile? You know setup there is there's
one in you know, seven in Nashville. Worked on them

(02:01:56):
for six weeks. Finally got him to call me back
and he's coming.

Speaker 21 (02:01:59):
We'll have a.

Speaker 29 (02:02:03):
We have competition. So we have a twelve and under
ninja course. It's friendly for the young guys, but we
have a teenager and adult. We even have the warp wall,
you know that. So yeah, you just wait, there'll be
a lot of hold my beer moments. Oh and of
course the food is just everywhere.

Speaker 12 (02:02:23):
Yeah it is now.

Speaker 3 (02:02:24):
The food and you know last year, I don't want
to say a thing. You you brought more snacks, but
let me tell you these uh these strawberries though they're
gonna I know they're gonna win. But you were, you
were we were talking about you. There's there's food as
far as you can see.

Speaker 12 (02:02:38):
Well, the festival has grown.

Speaker 29 (02:02:39):
We've more than doubled the footprint, like we're stretching now
five blocks. I mean, this thing is a a long festival,
we have two different food courts. Uh So this year's
first time we build a Sacket food court. We have
everything you can imagine, the traditional festival food to all
of the more creative, health conscious stuff, vegetarian stuff, the

(02:03:00):
good old fried you know, flavorful stuff that I enjoyed.

Speaker 3 (02:03:03):
So even if I'm trying to do a little bit better,
there's food there.

Speaker 12 (02:03:06):
There that's right. You can start there and then somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (02:03:09):
So from the text Nation, Laura and Elena could have
her baby any day. Well, is there a chance she
will birth it at.

Speaker 16 (02:03:15):
The Strawberry We may have somebody on standby.

Speaker 3 (02:03:21):
But what a story. Yeah, Lauren and Elena and the
third song of her set gave birth at the Strawberry Fest.

Speaker 12 (02:03:28):
You know we might be hedging on that.

Speaker 3 (02:03:30):
That would bring us all kinds of you know, it
always go up after this and it's a boy and
she named him Barry. I got it, I got but
I got this would be this would be really something
for the Strawberry Fest. Would probably not what the family
is looking look for. Wed her to get to the end,

(02:03:51):
and they talked to you about that. At all that
we have we've had.

Speaker 29 (02:03:54):
Conversations about it appreciate you.

Speaker 3 (02:03:57):
We have made arrangements. Yeah, well that's it. And then
people are saying they think Chase Matthew is the next
Morgan Wallin.

Speaker 29 (02:04:04):
Yeah, he's awesome man, and he does a great live show.
I mean, all these guys. Russell Dickerson has been around
a little bit longer. His life shows are about us. Yeah,
great as I've ever seen.

Speaker 3 (02:04:15):
Yeah, and people are asking, is there any chance you
could put maybe you know, on the Fresh Pick stage
Many Kiss. Yeah. I found out local. I found out
that they're not playing solid you know. But I found
out that apparently my friend Mark Garnette Garnett told me
the wrong weekend. It's actually in May. Okay, So I

(02:04:37):
want you to rest easy now. You're not competing with
Many Kiss in Birmingham this weekend.

Speaker 16 (02:04:42):
That's that's you know, that was by desire.

Speaker 3 (02:04:49):
Many Kiss is one of those things that I wonder
if that should have happened. But anyway, so if you
want to find out everything about the weekend, it's simple.
You go to Alabama Strawberry Festival dot com. You'll see
all the artists lineup, You'll see all the things that
are available this year. The Ninja course, is a new
one and that's this Friday and Saturday. It'll be at
the at the Depot Park in Coleman, Alabama, which is

(02:05:12):
a beautiful setup out there as well, and a lot
of history in Coleman. So always, thanks for the strawberries
and thanks for including us, and yeah, I know it's
going to be an incredible weekend.

Speaker 12 (02:05:22):
Well, thank you guys.

Speaker 3 (02:05:23):
Anything else we need anybody to know right now?

Speaker 12 (02:05:25):
No, it's it's for everybody, all ages. Give them out
and enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (02:05:29):
Great for the family. So if you were thinking what
we're gonna do as a family this weekend and you
don't already have your plan, there's a good one in
our home state of Alabama. Alabama Strawberryfest dot com all
the information that you need. Remember, no ticket is required
for entry, and you can even stand back there and
watch and listen to the musical acts. But if you
want good seats, you can buy a ticket and it'll

(02:05:51):
be worth it at Alabama Strawberryfest dot com.

Speaker 1 (02:05:55):
This is the Rick Burgess show. He does that bucy.

(02:06:17):
He just likes things to be a certain way. Pick wishes, So.

Speaker 3 (02:06:26):
What's what's the problem?

Speaker 15 (02:06:27):
All right?

Speaker 3 (02:06:28):
So thanks for being with us. Today entrepreneurs everywhere everywhere,
but not everybody gets access to we the people. Mike
Lindell didn't like that, so he's like, hey, you're not
gonna You're not gonna block these people out like you
did me. So he established mystore dot com. This is

(02:06:48):
kind of an alternative to Amazon dot com. Uh So

Speaker 9 (02:07:38):
Heyrg Hey emails rolling then, but we ain't turning back
big box in the house. We're turning it loud. The
Rick Burgess show was rocking the crowd.

Speaker 3 (02:07:47):
Quick, all right, so here we go, Hey Birch, heyburg
from the email. We're taking a look at emails from you.
All you gotta do is let me know, just put
hay bird in the uh subject line. Hey bird, hey bird,
this is from Enus. I'm sorry, that's his last name
is from Gregory. First, I thought, what the cool name Enus.

(02:08:09):
It was some folks that would that name would work
from Gregory. Gregory says, I need a little advice. Came
home from work, walked in the door. Could hear my wife,
and by her tone, I knew she was getting on
our teenage son. You know the tone.

Speaker 12 (02:08:23):
Yes, we all do.

Speaker 3 (02:08:24):
What about when you come home you realize that kids,
you're killing us? Yeah, you're killing us. So anyway, she says,
He says, I heard the tone. I knew she was,
you know, upset. Needless to say, I walked into a bussaw.
Uh found out that our son had skipped school to
go fishing with some buddies and they got caught because
they came back to school for weight workouts. That sort

(02:08:46):
of makes me proud as a dad. When I started
asking questions, here's where it all went south. These were
my first three questions, Where were you fishing? Did you
catch anything? What were they hitting? Uh? Those are important questions,
very important. But my wife's reaction was not the same.

(02:09:07):
She did not see those to be the questions that
I should be asking. So my attitude changed. But I
did finally lose it and start laughing when my son
looked at me and said, and you was in trouble,
you know, dad, bad decisions make good stories. And uh,
and he's very he's correct, he said. At that point,
I had to walk out of the room. So do

(02:09:29):
you think those three questions were those out of line?
That those are the things I mean I was thinking
it reading your email? Yeah, pretty much, dad on Uh
so moms and dads equal but different. Yeah, I mean,
you know we can't hey, we can't skip school. But
you know we'll cover that in a minute. First, how'd
y'all do were the fish hitting? If so, what were

(02:09:50):
they hitting? Where were you fishing? Do you suggest we
fished there on the day when school was actually out?
And if they did have a successful day, you go, well,
it was worth it, Greg and I. You don't want
to do that and not do what No, Now, Greg
and I had an uphill climb because you know, one
of our parents always worked at the school. When we
got to the high school. Uh, and then our mom

(02:10:11):
started working at the school. I think my senior year,
your junior year, maybe maybe my tenth yearly so maybe
my junior year she started. I can't remember.

Speaker 7 (02:10:19):
It was.

Speaker 3 (02:10:20):
We had been there a while without her being in
the office, and of course, of all places, they put
her in the office. That's the worst because she saw
us often.

Speaker 9 (02:10:27):
They see and hear everything in that office.

Speaker 3 (02:10:30):
She saw me all that. She saw me a lot
and uh and so, but skipping school for us was
what you think. It was hard for normal people, real
hard for real hard for us. Maasically, when your mom
types up the absentee reboard, not that we didn't do it,
not that we didn't do it. I will tell you
that she's watching right now. Yeah, the answer that you

(02:10:50):
do not give to your mother. When we got caught
cutting class, and it was a beautiful spring day, like
we just talked about in Alabama, it was beautiful, so beautiful,
and we went up to Mount Chee Hall, and you know,
we went up to the falls and went and just
had a wonderful day. And I walked in and knew
I could see my mom. She has something we called

(02:11:11):
the snapping turtle look, and she takes your front lip
how snapping turtle looks, and she just looked in trouble.
And she goes, what what any world were you thinking?
And I said, surely no one expected us to go
to school all.

Speaker 2 (02:11:24):
Day like this.

Speaker 3 (02:11:26):
That was your response? He thought I thought I was
being funny. Mom didn't didn't think it. No, she didn't.
She did, and she didn't see humor in that at all.
And then the snapping turtle began to snap. So so
anyway that, uh, I understand where the dad's coming from.
But you probably want to lead with, hey, we can't
be skipping school. Maybe you handle that, and then pulling

(02:11:48):
to the sidele that's exactly tell me how.

Speaker 8 (02:11:50):
It went, same team together and then off side and
after you tell them how you killing me?

Speaker 3 (02:11:54):
Yeah, then you go they bit and then you maybe
come out like you're really getting on him hard. Yeah,
And once she clears the area, Yeah, and do what
we were talking about. I mean, I've done this you've done, speedy, Greg,
You've done this, Adler, you will do this where you
explain to your kids when they once they get a
certain age. I don't really care about this, but your
mom does. So I want you to know that I'm

(02:12:15):
gonna act really upset about this. You're gonna you're gonna
wonder who I am. But keep in mind, I've always
got to draft with her because I stay with her.
Y'all will y'all will eventually leave? Yeah, yeah, I'll always
be with her.

Speaker 9 (02:12:27):
We're a team. We're united front.

Speaker 3 (02:12:30):
I told you when my I mean living on their own,
I was like getting it all upset about one of
them not having their apartment in order or something, and
why were you doing this? And would you put this
up for and you should have done this or you
have any and and I remember they were looking like that,
do you care about this? And I'm like, no, I
don't care about this, but I'm gonna pretend to. Yeah,
I got a ride home with her. We've all done that.

Speaker 20 (02:12:51):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:12:51):
Next, Hey bird, hey Burge, I need a grandpa, Greg Ruling,
Oh boy, and uh and I guess speed to you too.
Two granddads here, My four year Oldrand daughter came to
our camp house for Easter weekend. Like any granddad, she
can do whatever she wants, including painting my toenails. Oh yeah,
which she did Friday evening when they got here. Saturday morning,
I killed a turkey. Saturday afternoon, I caught a nice

(02:13:14):
string of crappy. That's all fine, unusual luck but not
unheard of. But Sunday morning before church, with sudden, he's
already done. Saturday Sunday morning before church, I killed another turkey. Goodness,
get another honey in unheard of for me, I've never
had that kind of success. As such, I can only
attribute it to the painting of my toenails.

Speaker 27 (02:13:35):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (02:13:36):
Here's where I need Greg and Speedy's leadership, since the
toenails are directly responsible for my success and my own
safe grounds as a granddad to drive to her home
in Foley and have her touch up the toenails before
this season is out. And if that's acceptable, Am I
getting too close to the line of straight maybe being inappropriate?

(02:13:56):
If all of a sudden, I took her to the
camp house and she painted the toes of my hunting buddies,
they now want their span. Generally, this would not be
an issue. But with this kind of luck, I feel
terrible even thinking about taking advantage of her. But if
Speedy and Gregor are okay with it, I think I'll
feel better about it.

Speaker 19 (02:14:12):
Help me.

Speaker 3 (02:14:13):
You know, the factor is your granddaughter. Of course you're
gonna pay letter. And the good thing is is your toenails,
so they're not on display at all the time. Yeah,
and look, we all know I'm don't wear flip flops,
mojo and lucky charms and all that. Hey, I got
my toes. I'm doing well. I say, just to finish
this season out, go ahead and get to touch them up, right,
you know what I'm bringing the other guys in now
I probably lead them out. No, probably because they're on

(02:14:34):
their own. But you're the granddad. You go get a
touch up, and anybody brings up you go, it's my granddaughter.
I'm goodness that it's not that I you know, think
that it helps me kill turkeys, even though you do.
Do you realize in the day and a half he
killed two turkeys and he caught a stringer of croppy. Hey,
I wonder what colors you may in the work.

Speaker 8 (02:14:50):
See, I have not had a daughter, and I do
not have a granddaughter. So I just hear stories about
about those of you that do yes, and so Greg's
probably spot on.

Speaker 3 (02:15:00):
Oh yeah, paint away, painting away. Okay, your good granddad.
I mean, look at the season grab. You can't mess
with that.

Speaker 1 (02:15:07):
Mojo, no our tojo tojo. This is the Rick Burger Show. This,

(02:15:29):
this is what Trump had him boy when he sought
to make America great a dad, the Rick Burger Show.

Speaker 15 (02:15:38):
And here we go.

Speaker 3 (02:15:39):
Thanks for being with us today, America, hanging out, enjoying
our time together. You can Texas or call us at
eight eight eight, the number six big box. So from
the text Nation, Greg, I agree with that. To the
granddad who sent us a hay bird a bird say
you're hunting, buddy, to get their own granddaughter. That's funny.

(02:16:02):
There you go that that is a good one.

Speaker 15 (02:16:05):
Adbir.

Speaker 3 (02:16:05):
Let's take a look here. What's going on in video
fourteen Video fourteen for one fold, NASCAR finds their way
to Talladiga this weekend. Yes, right, so that's that's a
big deal. Always a very exciting race and unpredictable. We
have a NASCAR fan that has gone viral. I didn't

(02:16:28):
Greg you mentioned this and this is your area. This
is your area. So I thought this was urban legend.
Is it true that Lamar Jackson is getting into a
legal battle with Dell Earnhardt Junior claiming the number eight
on the Earnhardt Junior car is the same eight that

(02:16:50):
Lamar Jackson wears the same style of eight. Did we
ever get confirmation? Because, first of all, I think you
can patent a number. This is in April first story.

Speaker 9 (02:16:59):
This guy thinks it's real. Randy the Plumber thinks it's.

Speaker 3 (02:17:01):
A real loss. So send me this a few weeks back.
But he's real mad too. Yes, but he is. But
I don't know if that's if it's true or not.
I don't surely nothing I do know right now. I
thought I heard it was not true, but I don't know.
I'm Randy thinks it is right after.

Speaker 9 (02:17:17):
Yes, Randy is one hundred percent convinced.

Speaker 3 (02:17:20):
Now, Dale Junior, did I think because his step mom
putting it up, the patent up from them, right, And
I think he did get.

Speaker 9 (02:17:28):
It, My goodness. There was a trademark dispute. According to
ESPN dot com, there was a Lamar Jackson Dale Earnhardt
Junior trademark dispute. It has been resolved. It has since
been resolved. But the the let's see.

Speaker 3 (02:17:45):
Yeah, yeah, Greg, you didn't hear this on the Junior
Watching Dale Junior download. You must have said it on
an episode of If he didn't have a guest I
care about it. It's a on his podcast. He said
it was resolved. So it's been resolved and this this
is all and it was true. So Junior does have
the eight that his stepmother put up for for a
patented auction thing. Yeah, I guess she owned the rise

(02:18:08):
to it. Probably just for NASCAR, you know what I mean. Okay,
this is what I'm thinking. It's just not the eight
he is think.

Speaker 9 (02:18:16):
Lamar Jackson, who has worn the number eight since his
college days at Louisville, previously registered the trademark ERA eight
by Lamar Jackson. His filing had argued that Earnhardt's attempt
to trademark that particular version of number eight would create
confusion among consumers. This isn't the first time that Jackson
has tried to stop another athlete from filing a trademark
on this number. In July of last year, Jackson challenged

(02:18:39):
Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman's attempt to use eigh
t on apparel and bag.

Speaker 3 (02:18:45):
Wow, good grace, Lamar Jackson, he's really protective of the eight. Wow. Well,
Randy the plumber is furious.

Speaker 9 (02:18:52):
He's he owed.

Speaker 3 (02:18:53):
All right, here we go, all right.

Speaker 27 (02:18:55):
This is a Lamar Jackson number eight right here. Take
a good heart, look at it. A lot of people
wouldn't know that by looking at it. But that's a
Lamar Jackson number eight. But what about this number eight
right here? Do I even need to say who this
number eight belongs to? No, everybody knows who this number

(02:19:17):
eight belongs to.

Speaker 6 (02:19:18):
There is no confusion.

Speaker 30 (02:19:20):
Lamar Jackson thinks he owns the number eight. Nobody owns
any number Son. This is your eight, Lamar Jackson. This
is the eighth of Dell arn Hart Junior.

Speaker 7 (02:19:35):
Son.

Speaker 9 (02:19:36):
That's what number eight this is.

Speaker 6 (02:19:38):
There is absolutely zero confusion with.

Speaker 3 (02:19:42):
This number eight.

Speaker 27 (02:19:43):
If a person is possibly confused as to which number
eight is, which, they don't know anything about sports.

Speaker 6 (02:19:51):
Lamar Jackson, you do not own the number eight.

Speaker 30 (02:19:56):
Why the world are you suing Dell Earnhart Junior over
some sort of confusion between this ugly number.

Speaker 26 (02:20:06):
Eight andmely fast Look a number eight right here, looks
like it's.

Speaker 30 (02:20:13):
Hauling back down the track son hold out for their
life by Wow.

Speaker 3 (02:20:19):
Okay, that's funny right now? So, uh, the original agree
with Randy Well, the original dispute was with JR Motorsports
and and the the eight that they were using are
going to use was similar and now they're using now
they're using the traditional Dell Earnhardt Junior. Okay, So from

(02:20:40):
what I'm reading eight before, Yeah, it just said that
because those two ages do not you wouldn't confuse one
for them, right.

Speaker 8 (02:20:47):
Yeah, that Lamar was challenging the trademark application by Dellarnheart
Junior for particular style of number eight used by JR
Motorsports since twenty nineteen.

Speaker 3 (02:20:56):
That's that's the original.

Speaker 8 (02:20:58):
I don't know, but now it looks like Dell Junior
stated that JR Motorsports will use the the eight that
he made famous when he raced Adele Earn hard Ink.

Speaker 15 (02:21:09):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (02:21:10):
Wow, Yeah. Somebody sent me on this a little while back,
and I don't know if it was a prank or what.

Speaker 15 (02:21:16):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:21:16):
Staying in the sports world now, Adler, I know that
you're you had a bit of a stumble yesterday on
some videos but that was in the break.

Speaker 9 (02:21:23):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (02:21:24):
I see this Shannon Sharp story today?

Speaker 8 (02:21:27):
Can we wait in I didn't print the original story
on I guess Monday. I was because of the text
messages that he released from the accuser basically saying that
this is all false.

Speaker 3 (02:21:42):
Yeah, he is saying that there's going to be an
attempt to extort him and there's a video that may
be released. Uh, and apparently it's going to be Shannon
involved in an active intimacy. Uh is an only fans female?

Speaker 9 (02:22:01):
What does you don't even read that word?

Speaker 3 (02:22:03):
Don't you just did? Well? You did?

Speaker 22 (02:22:07):
This?

Speaker 15 (02:22:07):
Is you again? Get it again?

Speaker 3 (02:22:14):
Was having a run on stuff?

Speaker 12 (02:22:15):
Like his phone was on.

Speaker 3 (02:22:18):
This isn't tied that That's what I thought this was.
It is, It's not tied to it.

Speaker 9 (02:22:21):
It's a different Have you listened to this just to
the very beginning, and you can hear his tone and
we all want to never have this tone. It's a
horrible tone to have and it's just a good reminder
to live right.

Speaker 3 (02:22:35):
I guess listen.

Speaker 4 (02:22:38):
Looking to my family, friends, supporters, and college I want
to speak to you directly and from the heart.

Speaker 1 (02:22:45):
This is a shakedown.

Speaker 4 (02:22:46):
I'm going to be open transparent and defend myself because
this isn't right. This is all being orchestrated by Tony Buzzby,
who is targeted jay Z. Tony Buzzby targets black Man,
and I believe he's going to release.

Speaker 9 (02:22:58):
A thirty five Okay, who's going to release a clip?

Speaker 3 (02:23:02):
Is her lawyer?

Speaker 21 (02:23:05):
Who is he?

Speaker 8 (02:23:05):
I don't know, but I know that in the story,
Shannon Sharp has gone on the offense and said this,
this this lady, I'm going to release the text messages
that show what she was sending me. And he's like,
this is going to be obvious that this these accusations
aren't true. So he's trying to He said, I'm not
going to be silent on this because Sharp he does

(02:23:29):
have that weird voice. He's over moving his mouth.

Speaker 3 (02:23:35):
This is going to be so this is not tied
to the other thing that he did that he broadcast
and didn't realize.

Speaker 9 (02:23:41):
Sandy Sharpe get it together, buddy, a lot.

Speaker 3 (02:23:44):
Of uncomfortable situations. But he says, this one is a
false Can it releases some texts that she had sent
right that kind of Oh yeah, some things that But
then I see an article today where they said that
he did at one point offered the buyer at a
lower price, choose me to pay your money.

Speaker 9 (02:24:03):
Okay, they wanted Tony Busby wanted fifty million dollars. He
was going to release a thirty second clip that showed
Shannon Sharp engaged in something nefarious and it's going to
look really bad.

Speaker 3 (02:24:13):
Nice use of the word nefarious, by the way.

Speaker 9 (02:24:15):
And then Shannon Sharp says, release the whole ten minute video.
Actually is what he says, which.

Speaker 3 (02:24:22):
Is, so he's going on, he's going on the offense.

Speaker 9 (02:24:25):
Why why he's doing this? Why are we doing here?

Speaker 3 (02:24:29):
He said, he's not denying the relationship, but the accusation
is what he's denying, that that he did something.

Speaker 9 (02:24:35):
Yeah, because that that little quick clip is going to
look bad evidently.

Speaker 3 (02:24:39):
Okay, so you're saying that if this is why I
didn't print the story, I was good here. I was
going to do an analogy. But I'm not going to
I'm going to think differently, saying that, yes, I did
participate in what what's being alleged, but I didn't participate
in a way that you should be suited. Yeah, is
that right? And he said, I have I have audio
foot Oh that was somebody else, right, I have audio foddage.

(02:25:03):
Yeah he does. We're good. He does overdo it. Yeah, that's.

Speaker 9 (02:25:12):
Monique was on his podcast. Why was saying this? She
She's like, I'm just glad I'm not fifty six and
still trying. You need an old lady that's your age,
will love you and rub your feet at night. Buddy,
quit getting out with these only friends nineteen year old
and freak.

Speaker 7 (02:25:25):
That's what she said.

Speaker 1 (02:25:27):
This is the Rick Burchis Show. This is where logic
Beats left her, The Rick Burchis Show.

Speaker 3 (02:25:50):
Are you for being with us again? Today? We're rolling
through it and uh so much more to cover anything
you've missed today, se grab it on the Daily Archives.
You can catch a show live in archived. It's interesting
those of you that live in the archived world. There
are questions and things that you're picking up on late.

(02:26:11):
But at least you won't miss it, and you should
never miss a moment of the program. Also, some things
to know today Wednesday, Bible Study is back. If you
want to go to the YouTube channel watch it live
at noon Central one o'clock Eastern. Job chapter ten today,
as we continue this provocative walk through the Book of job,

(02:26:31):
so job chapter ten today if you're still tracking with us.
If not, you can always go back and catch the
ones that you missed. They are also archived on our
podcast channel and on our YouTube channel. A couple of
things out of the political world A little bit video
two there, Adler. This is not surprising. We've talked about
this way back in the thirty one years. I mean

(02:26:54):
all throughout the years of the Rick and Bubba show.
You see and hear it on news outlets and talk
shows that are more of the conservative side, and that
is continuing always to reveal the hypocrisy of some of
these bleeding hearts that always are talking about things and
they think that others should do things, but they just

(02:27:14):
don't ever apply those things to themselves. And I don't
know that there's two bigger offenders than Bernie Sanders and
AOC and so you know, they're always out, you know,
just you know, if you private planes and we got
to get the rich and this and that, but then
they fly on private planes and they do this, and

(02:27:37):
this is a shot that people got of them. Now,
this is Earth Day. This is dog one earth Day,
you know, one of my least favorite days, but Earth
Day you know earlier in the show today already Speedy
has revealed to us at a station in San Francisco
just played earth sounds all day on Earth Day. Nothing zip. Okay,

(02:28:01):
so we know. Now keep in mind where we're all
very confused now is that teslas are under attack and
Bernie and AOC are flying on private jets. I'm completely confused.
So this is Earth Day, Earth Day? If there was
any day, I don't have any The thing that bothers
me the most about what they're doing right here is

(02:28:21):
how stupid they are here. That's how dumb it is.
If you had anybody, any handler or whatever, would say, look,
I know y'all been flying around on this private plane.
A nice one too, by the way. Quite the carbon
footprint on that one. We're watching it right now on
the YouTube.

Speaker 9 (02:28:37):
I think that's an electric plane.

Speaker 3 (02:28:39):
Yeah, right.

Speaker 9 (02:28:41):
But there's Bernie.

Speaker 3 (02:28:42):
Comes Bernie. He's the heard of working man worse than mine.
He's for the working man, Burnie. And you know, some
people are thinking that AOC and Bernie could be a
ticket for the Democrats in the next election.

Speaker 9 (02:28:55):
Please, oh please, there's the most popular fire in the
Democrat party right now.

Speaker 3 (02:29:01):
So the question that we've been posing on the former show,
and we'll continue to pose it on this show. Do
they really believe what they say? They must not. They
can't they getting trees planted, it's not possible. Say that,
it's not possible for them to be on They don't
even have enough sense not to be seen flying on

(02:29:23):
that plane on Earth Day. They don't even have enough
sense to do that. This may hurt our credibility. And
what they know is that there's chumps that no matter
what they do, they'll still believe what they say. If
you will just stop for a minute, you'll go. They
must not think that private planes leave the kind of
footprint that should concern this, because if they did really

(02:29:45):
think that, they would not be riding one around on
Earth Terrify on Earth Day. Don't miss it. It was
on Earth Day. That makes a story. I wouldn't even
have covered this story. On Earth Day they played twenty
four hours of Earth sound, so that up for it, right,
That's that's crazy.

Speaker 8 (02:30:03):
It is it is, And it wouldn't be as like
you're talking about if they didn't give us speeches on them.

Speaker 3 (02:30:07):
This thing you shouldn't do. Just don't lecture us on
the private plane thing or carbon footprint. Then we're fine.
But you lecture us, then you do it. Bernie burn
Burn fill in the burn three c. Tariffs are a
big deal right now. So and that the big deal
is are terriffs working or not? Can can we say them?

(02:30:29):
Who you ask? It depends on who you ask. But
and also it's I think we should all in the
tariff world get into the well, we'll see. But as
as if we start seeing trends one way or the other,
I think we should report on them and we should listen.
Here's one now, this is Caroline Levitt is talking about

(02:30:49):
whether it seems that the tariffs seemed to be working
or not. And here she is updating America Book.

Speaker 32 (02:30:56):
To our entire trade team this morning. There is a
lot of progress being made. We now have eighteen proposals
on paper that have been brought to the Trade team. Again,
these are proposals on paper that countries have proposed to
the Trump administration into our government. You have Secretary Bessett,
Secretary Lutnik, Ambassador Greer, NEC Director Hassett, and Peter Navarro.

(02:31:17):
The entire trade team meeting with thirty four countries this
week alone. We are moving at Trump speed to ensure
these deals are made on behalf of the American worker
and the American people. And just yesterday it seemed to
get a little bit lost in the news, and I
think it's a disservice to the American public that it did.
The Vice President announced terms of reference for a trade

(02:31:37):
deal with India.

Speaker 6 (02:31:38):
That is a big deal.

Speaker 32 (02:31:40):
We know when we look at the numbers the monetary
trade barriers and the non monetary trade barriers from India,
they have been ripping off the United States and American
workers for a very long time. So the fact that
the Vice President, with Prime Minister Modi on that trip
in India, announced these terms of reference, which is essentially
a framework to move the ball forward to sign a
good trade deal between our two nations, is great progress.

(02:32:03):
And it speaks to the work ethic and the real
labor that's being put into this effort by the President's
trade team.

Speaker 3 (02:32:10):
Sadly, while she was actually giving us this update, someone
stowed her purse with a foot Sadly, right right right
as she was talking a little bit distracted. Secret Service
was looking elsewhere.

Speaker 8 (02:32:23):
Yeah, but I did hear some rants on this late
yesterday on how you not hear hearing any of this
in the media coverage on this deal with India.

Speaker 9 (02:32:30):
Which is a big deal and is pretty big country.

Speaker 3 (02:32:33):
Yeah, and here's JD Vance video four. She referenced it,
But here's JD Vance actually announcing that America in India
have officially finalized terms of reference, as she mentioned, for
trade negotiations, which, as you said, is a big deal.
But you're just about going to have to hear it
here in other places and from them. Are you going

(02:32:53):
to miss it because they're not getting a lot of
coverage on it. But here's the Vice President. You were aware.

Speaker 33 (02:32:57):
Both of our governments are hard at work on a
trade degree built on shared priorities like creating new jobs,
building durable supply chains, and achieving prosperity for our workers.
In our meeting yesterday, Prime Minister Mody and I made
very good progress on all of those points, and we
were especially excited to formally announce that America and India

(02:33:19):
have officially finalized the terms of reference for the trade negotiation.

Speaker 34 (02:33:24):
I think this is a vital step you. I believe
this is a vital step toward.

Speaker 33 (02:33:34):
Realizing President Trump's and Prime Minister Mody's vision because it
sets a roadmap toward a final deal between our nations.

Speaker 3 (02:33:42):
So there you So that didn't get a lot of
coverage yesterday, but you heard Caroline Levitt and JD Vance
talk about that this is a big deal. It's something
that has been long, long overdue, and so that hopefully
is some good news. Again, we'll see how it all
found lises and how it all affects everything, but that
seems to be good news.

Speaker 9 (02:34:04):
And then AOC actually yesterday stepped off of her plane,
off of her private plane and also issued a comment
on Earth Day, if you guys want to if you
guys want that real quick, sure.

Speaker 6 (02:34:18):
I tell them that we love that, we don't want
them to die. That we are some people here who
do care.

Speaker 7 (02:34:29):
So we want you to know that trees, how many
trees paid a price for she and Bernie to make
that travel on that plane.

Speaker 3 (02:34:45):
How much damage done to Mother Earth? Right there, of
all days, on Earth Day, top of the hour. Thanks
for being with us America.

Speaker 1 (02:34:56):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 15 (02:35:07):
Rock casting from the real.

Speaker 9 (02:35:15):
Alright, here we go.

Speaker 15 (02:35:16):
Are you ready? Who's ready?

Speaker 16 (02:35:18):
It's time full the Rig Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (02:35:21):
Somebody shout back, I'm ready, I'm ready, let's go. I'm ready,
all right, speedy, Greg Gadler, all here, brand new iware.
We thank you for being with US America.

Speaker 16 (02:35:31):
We'll get unstreamed phone calls.

Speaker 3 (02:35:32):
In again this hour, so be standing by if you've
got something you'd like to say. The text option is
rocking real time. Are you're ready? It's time full the
rig A eight eight six Big box website, Rick Burgessshow
dot com. All right, so this is a story hilarious.

(02:35:55):
It sounds like that this may call for Adler. This
may call for Adler. You know, who did his duty
by informing everyone at waffle House that this is a
family restaurant and setting everybody straight who didn't know how
to act at waffle Yes, and we know how open
to criticism. Folks at waffle House are always ready to

(02:36:17):
get in line basically after midnight.

Speaker 9 (02:36:19):
After midnight New Year's Day.

Speaker 3 (02:36:21):
Well, yeah, it looks like you are needed. And Buchanan Fields, California, Okay,
family friendly golf course puts cheating couple on alert about
their parking lot affair that they're tired of seeing. Oh no,

(02:36:43):
it was not cheating at golf. Now this story is
I mean, there's a lot of sad here, but there's
a lot of hilarity as well. It says that it's
a public non hole course in East Bay. The biggest
drama of the season has not come from the bunker
or somebody messing up on a putt. It has come
from the parking lot, the tenth hole. All right, that's

(02:37:06):
what a lot of I mean. You know, it's eighteen
whole course understood their clubhouse the night. Well, this is
not the clubhouse. This is the this is the parking lot. Okay, okay,
not the clubhouse. These are two class No, no, these
two aren't that classy. Apparently they keep hooking up in
the parking lot and everybody can see them. Something about
golf courses. It's called an alleged weekly rendezvous, and it

(02:37:30):
has transformed a family friendly fairway into a sight of
a soap opera. Gracious, the people have taken to Instagram
to warn the couple to the late thirties married wife
in the black car who's having a secret affair with
the guy in the smaller silver car, who've decided to

(02:37:51):
use the back corner of our sky Links cart park
to meet to meet weekly. Will y'all please stop now
what they're doing is they're threatening. If y'all keep this up,
we all can see you and sadly hear you. Uh
and well that comes more from the garbage people that
deal with the recycling. They're right next to a recycle bin.

(02:38:12):
Not a good day for birthday, and they say that
the men who go to unload these have been complaining
for a while about this weekly rendezvous and they are
within an earshot and it's not pretty, it's traumatizing. We
are a family golf course, for says another. This is
where you're new. You're needed, Adler. We are a family

(02:38:35):
golf course. This is not Jerry Springer. Yeah that We
are not the home of family destruction. This is not
a family destruction zone. If it happens again, we're dropping
the footage and you watch every all hell break loose.
So now let me tell you where I found the
parts the part about this too. We are a small community,

(02:38:55):
not a drive through hookup spot for cheaters. Another said so,
and then there's all kinds of lewd comments I will
not share because there's a lot you can do with
golf and rendezvous. Sure, and and so and people are
as you can imagine they are now this is where
now I don't want to Well, I guess it is
funny in a way. It's because the description is so broad.

(02:39:20):
They now have people contacting the golf course saying, now,
tell me about this black car again because their wife
drives a car that is similar, or tell me about
the silver car because their husband drives a silver car.
It's caused people who just have spouses and black and
silver cars to go could you run a little more
by me on the one you said, you said you

(02:39:43):
had to. Did you get did you get the license plate?

Speaker 12 (02:39:45):
There?

Speaker 3 (02:39:46):
So now the posts have gone viral, and of course
direct messages are flooding in. UH said, We're not here
to destroy people's lives. We just want them to stop
using our parking lot like a poorly disguised drive in.
This is not a makeout zone for hook up rendezvous.
And it's and this is the family this, this is

(02:40:09):
a family golf course. Maybe we should send Adler in.

Speaker 9 (02:40:12):
I've heard of your your shot having a hook to it,
But that's ridiculous.

Speaker 18 (02:40:17):
For that.

Speaker 3 (02:40:18):
They said that, you know, and they said that, they
said the they said the the worst part about it
is that they said, really, if you knew this course.
Don't picture like a regular golf course. This one is
designed nine holds. It's designed to be kind of a community,
family friendly. Of all the of all the of all
the golf parking lots, they could have picked that, they've

(02:40:41):
picked the most family friendly. And uh, and the people
have had enough. And I don't I don't know if
these people will ever get the message. But but they
but they should.

Speaker 9 (02:40:52):
Oh goodness, they've got a wedding venue they did golf course.

Speaker 3 (02:40:56):
Yeah, and I tell you all these people here, I
kind I kind of feel bad for those that come
to the dumpster. They they're really they're really traumatized. I mean,
did they not notice the traffic going back and forth
in the dumpster? You know, I don't know this, this
has a little bit this this sounds a little more
like canines that it does humans.

Speaker 14 (02:41:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:41:16):
Uh, you know they have no you know, canines don't care. No, No,
they don't know. We've all we've all been display right
on side, We've all been invited into their love nest
and and none of it, none of us wanted to go.
We we didn't want to be here.

Speaker 9 (02:41:29):
Yeah, the bus boy from the clubhouse said it didn't
bother him.

Speaker 3 (02:41:34):
They said his breaks became longer and longer. Right, but
but you know it is just head towards the dumpster. Right. Yeah,
that's maybe way out a way, by the way, not
a good time in this little community. If you are
a man or a woman and you're driving these cars,
if you have a black car or silver car, right
now you're getting questions. I'm mean, and do you think

(02:41:54):
this bunch will heed the message? Will they? Will they
move on? I think now it's kind of good. Yeah,
whether both incredibly romantic. There's nothing like letting someone know
how much you care about them next to a dumpsterling
in a recycling b and I guess that does make it,
you know, a little more swinky. Yeah, on Earth Day.
So so anyway, so that's that story. Is well I

(02:42:16):
was going to say got legs, but it is.

Speaker 8 (02:42:19):
They are they So they're playing together on the course,
so everybody's everybody's out trying to play golf. But so
they're not playing golf. They're just parking there pull they're
just pulling up park.

Speaker 3 (02:42:31):
They're using the parking lot of the golf course as
their hookup spot. And apparently with no golf appaallel no
I don't believe maybe from what these people are are describing.
I'm out here with my family at the family friendly
nine whole course, and as I'm looking down the fairway
over here, I see we can all see you, uh,

(02:42:55):
and they're there in their their cars. And I don't
know if it's always the black car that they both
get into, her the silver, or maybe it's just one.
I don't know. And people can see them. People who
are dealing with that work there in that area can
hear them, and they say, oh, yes, they said it's
all one. One quote that says, I'm pretty sure they're

(02:43:15):
both been a costal. So I don't I don't know
what's going on there, But it's the guy that gets caught.

Speaker 9 (02:43:25):
Kid, he's gonna have to ask for a mull again.
And it's marriage.

Speaker 14 (02:43:28):
Right there.

Speaker 9 (02:43:29):
How do way to go for? You are about to
get wrought?

Speaker 3 (02:43:33):
Okay, hopefully they can find their way back on the fairway.

Speaker 15 (02:43:37):
Well, uh, we'll be.

Speaker 1 (02:43:40):
This is the Rick Burgess show, God doing I doesn't
know that?

Speaker 3 (02:43:59):
Love it?

Speaker 14 (02:44:00):
Rick?

Speaker 3 (02:44:01):
Who Here we go people? Alrighty, So a lot of
story is still to coverage today, and we'll get to
some of your unscreen phone calls coming up the bottom
of the hour. Text Nation, A number of one liners

(02:44:22):
saw that coming. So do you remember the Shack story
that we had, was that yesterday when apparently Shack has
been drinking some sort of oil, olive oil or something.
He had some kind of cleansing going on, and all
of a sudden he gets up and he's got to
go to the bathroom. I mean, they're right in the

(02:44:43):
middle of it, and they're giving him a hard time
about it. You okay down there, big man, and he
had to go out and have an accent to go
to the toilet. It looked like it was a Speedy
goes to the Titans game situation. Speedy even walked out
of here. It bothered him. Some bat made me start
thinking about it. You brought that up.

Speaker 8 (02:45:02):
Yes, you don't have just the bathroom. Somebody starts talking
about it. By the way, text Nation owning me. Yeah, well,
this very show you're doing right now, one day be
referred to is the day before the softball incident.

Speaker 3 (02:45:15):
That's good. They can feel it coming, can't think. Yeah,
So anyway, apparently they that you know now because we
look these guys remind me of us hanging out ribbon
on each other if you just wear a bow tie. Yeah, no,
that's never gonna happen. You ever ever done the boat to?
Never have? I mean, like prom we did the right,

(02:45:35):
did we? Yeah? But maybe I don't do both time.
I don't think you could ever be a normal routine
for me. And of course, Greg, I can't believe that
you're okay with the guys who do the bow tie
like that's my thing, it's my Yeah, that's trademark. Yeah,
that's like him, Ernie like Pile. You like Ernie, We
don't dislike Ernie gets on my nerves a little bit.
But I mean, look what does he do to get

(02:45:57):
on your I think it's the bow tie. It is
the bow tie. Knew, close your eyes and listen to it. Okay,
I knew it was. He's you know, he's dress kind
of dapper, right, you know, And that's my thing. I'm
a trademark.

Speaker 6 (02:46:07):
Yeah there the bow ties me being sharp.

Speaker 3 (02:46:11):
Yeah, I know you too. All right. So they're giving
Shack a hard time, okay, So here here comes the
Shack's return to the show, and he surely he knows
that it's it's on man, all right, So here we
go tonight.

Speaker 16 (02:46:24):
All three home teams won all the.

Speaker 3 (02:46:26):
Highlights coming your way.

Speaker 12 (02:46:29):
Live stupid man.

Speaker 3 (02:46:31):
We're trying to save it for the beginning of the show.

Speaker 16 (02:46:34):
How you gonna miss a big to You missed it
most of the night.

Speaker 15 (02:46:39):
I'm taker's put down since the last half time.

Speaker 3 (02:46:41):
You picked a hell of a time to wake up.

Speaker 15 (02:46:43):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (02:46:45):
Tonight that they have a porta potty sitting next to
Shack now and I guess, I guess Charles just down
noticed it or is there to so there's a porter
I was focusing on them. You're like, I didn't. I
was so focused on so many playing man the Shack,

(02:47:07):
So they now have a porter potty sitting next to you.
I didn't get it.

Speaker 15 (02:47:12):
Did you miss that?

Speaker 12 (02:47:13):
I just missed?

Speaker 3 (02:47:14):
Hey man, so uh you wanted to see Shack walk
out again? Because that was what when when when Shack? Well,
look the fact they have a porter potty next to him.
That is an update and that is a good one.

Speaker 9 (02:47:27):
So here he is walking out. The initial event.

Speaker 3 (02:47:32):
Is you know what you alright, big fall, catch the crap,
go ahead, keep talking, joe Ye were on TV.

Speaker 12 (02:47:41):
That's the olive oil you've been drinking.

Speaker 3 (02:47:45):
I know, ahead go ahead, you see Charles, I say, so,
they now have a porter potty next to Shack, and
Shack looks like to me, he's just downing the ball.
He knows that he's actually he has the decision to
make Do I sit here or do I just I
got to g yeah again, been a worst story if

(02:48:06):
he didn't go. Do you think too. It's almost like
when you're in groups like we are with the four
of us and have been all the many years, when
there's a bunch of guys working together, those of you
that if you if you're not familiar, we're working in
rough atmosphere and environment. The worst thing you can do
is try to fight back, because then it's almost like
the predators all around you. That's just their attack instinct

(02:48:28):
now flips on you. I really think one of the
best ways is just to down the ball and just
and just let everybody do. They have no more They
don't have another line left, right, you know, because if
you keep coming back, then that just that they think, Okay,
you're fighting back a little bit. Just focus. Yeah.

Speaker 30 (02:48:44):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:48:44):
The pacers. Now, apparently this is a lot of people
are finding this funny. I don't understand the joke. Because
I don't follow the NBA. But there's an Indiana Patriers
fan who has a homemade clock to time how long
it takes a certain player at the free free throw line.
And I'm not premiere g I A n N I
s Giannis.

Speaker 9 (02:49:05):
He plays for the Bucks.

Speaker 3 (02:49:06):
He uh, he takes a lot of time at the line.

Speaker 9 (02:49:08):
He takes a lot of time at the line. He's
very very good. He took them to of their their
first win. I guess, uh a few seasons ago. Anyways,
Gianni's and I can't even say his last name because
it's anticche he takes.

Speaker 3 (02:49:21):
How would anybody say that name? They have a certain
amount of time they have to do this by right.

Speaker 9 (02:49:26):
Yes, Yes, I like Giannis. He's a player.

Speaker 3 (02:49:29):
What do you know about is it ten seconds?

Speaker 9 (02:49:32):
It's ten seconds?

Speaker 3 (02:49:33):
When you said they win, you may win. They won
a championship. He won a championship when the Bucks won
a couple of years ago.

Speaker 9 (02:49:38):
Yeah, that's he works, he worked hard work or great
player and uh here he is, but he takes too
long at the line. And this is what a fan
did about it. Okay, and yeah, just Gregg, look at that.

Speaker 16 (02:49:54):
That's he's got up.

Speaker 3 (02:49:59):
The yay, he's standing right underneath. Look at his name
on the back of his shirt.

Speaker 9 (02:50:09):
I know they don't even have room for it.

Speaker 3 (02:50:10):
He's almost, like y'all said, I mean, he's almost under
the goal. He's not like he's ready to get a rebound.
And he has a clock that as the crowd chance.
He moves it to the numbers and assist. I wonder
if he's actually helping him. Okay, I know how much
time I got. Pretty us still again.

Speaker 9 (02:50:34):
I love that he waited till tann and then drill.

Speaker 3 (02:50:36):
And he made it good night. That is funny. While
wearing a hard hat lose, they're saying it honest.

Speaker 9 (02:50:43):
Okay, there you go.

Speaker 3 (02:50:44):
So you didn't know as much about him as you acted.
I thought you were in his fan club the way
you were.

Speaker 9 (02:50:49):
I watched him win a championship time you acted like
you were tight with him. I enjoyed watching him win.
You did he wanted one he wanted that was a
long time ago, right.

Speaker 3 (02:51:04):
I would like to hear somebody pronounce that last name.
Can anybody pronounce that last name? Anybody? It makes no sense.
Uh So, I don't know by the way that people
say the Pacers fan looks a little bit like Andy
Andrews with the clock he does he does.

Speaker 9 (02:51:23):
Here's how you say it, here's how you say his name.
I'm not yet.

Speaker 3 (02:51:29):
Again.

Speaker 13 (02:51:30):
Jie onto the compot, Onto the combo, Onto the compo,
to coompo, Jannie new Onto you need to stop Janna's
son too, to coompo?

Speaker 3 (02:51:48):
Thank you? What onto? Onto tou po?

Speaker 9 (02:51:55):
That's close enough an to to coompo?

Speaker 3 (02:52:00):
Yeah? What about when Adler waiting? Yes, Giannis, that's what
it is. Adler? Okay, who cares?

Speaker 9 (02:52:05):
That's how you spell it.

Speaker 3 (02:52:07):
But you act like you were really like just like
like there was a moment I thought that you were
gonna be on the halftime show on t N. T
Rick me and his friends called him. I watched him
when you know, when I watched the Bucks win a
championship in twenty twenty one meant a lot to me.

Speaker 9 (02:52:25):
I really, I never said it meant a lot to
He was.

Speaker 3 (02:52:28):
My favorite player ever, even more than the Admiral.

Speaker 9 (02:52:30):
All right, now I'm gonna do that thing where I
just wait till y'all are done. That's what you do.

Speaker 3 (02:52:34):
Like, that's what you do, dog, That's it. That's it.

Speaker 15 (02:52:38):
Excuse me?

Speaker 9 (02:52:39):
Correct Joan, how to say this. I never nobody on
Jack crap. I'm about to pull a Gary right this
freaking moment.

Speaker 3 (02:52:47):
Guys, I got it.

Speaker 15 (02:52:47):
I got it.

Speaker 9 (02:52:48):
J all right, I'm shutting up now. So maybe y'all
sh stupid mouths.

Speaker 3 (02:52:53):
Right, Greg in the future, if there's any names you
pronounced for the NBA, I'm the NBA expert. Yes, especially
if it's from an African country. Give me a g
you just sitting Look again, I'm barely see him seasons
he's hitting by y'all got it wrong. I got it.

Speaker 9 (02:53:15):
I never corrected.

Speaker 3 (02:53:17):
I got very emotional when they won. You almost made
it just just winning. They just won my life forever.

Speaker 5 (02:53:25):
I thought he meant they won a game, right, you
don't want to come year ago they won win, they
won a championship.

Speaker 3 (02:53:32):
Watch I watched.

Speaker 9 (02:53:33):
I watched three or four NBA games a year, which
is four times as much as y'all. I'm sorry for
bringing content to the show.

Speaker 16 (02:53:40):
Kiss my butt?

Speaker 3 (02:53:42):
How you pronounced it?

Speaker 9 (02:53:43):
By the time.

Speaker 1 (02:53:44):
This here's the Rick Burgess Show. The people who don't
like this show you wouldn't like anyway, the Rick Budge's Show.

Speaker 3 (02:54:11):
We're back. Thank you for being with us today as
we work through another one together. And we have covered
a lot today and there's much more still to come
before we're wrapped up. We'll do unscreened phone calls too
before we leave. One more shot at that before we go.
All right, So we have this story today too about

(02:54:34):
leap Frog founder. I don't know who leap frog? Is
that the leap Frog founder? I don't know anything about
leap frog founder? Well, that's what is that?

Speaker 20 (02:54:43):
What it is?

Speaker 7 (02:54:44):
No?

Speaker 9 (02:54:44):
No, no, no, it's the educational series of like books
and electronics and all kinds of stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:54:49):
Can I tell you? When I first thought it was
the person that founded the game leap Frog, I was
more interested, What.

Speaker 9 (02:54:55):
Are you talking about? Like the playground game where you
jump over?

Speaker 3 (02:54:58):
Yes? Okay, oh yeah, I don't think that has a
found I don't either. And then I thought, Then I
thought it might have been that game where you try
to get the frog across the frogger across the But
then I realized that's called Frogger. But that's not what
I wouldn't have printed it, would you? Were you excited
about the game? Did y'all play the game Frogger?

Speaker 8 (02:55:16):
I'll reference that if I'm ever running across the street.

Speaker 3 (02:55:20):
But unfortunately this is not this is not him. He's
the founder of leap Frog Enterprises. I don't care. Oh yeah, yeah,
I was saying there stuff. Have you really your grandkids
this stuff? So it's a lot of educational toys and
some of that educational Thank you, Greg. Oh yeah, And
like I do know, I see the one where they

(02:55:42):
open up and it has the little uh the pencil
that you're moving around. But it was like long before
you had the pads, and he had these things you
could open up right yeah. Now exactly what makes the
story somewhat interesting is that he seems to have died
by assisted suicide. Oh wow, man, So thanks for that
picked me up story, speedy.

Speaker 17 (02:56:03):
Was it?

Speaker 3 (02:56:04):
Don't you have to in these countries they do this.
You don't you have to have some other underlying like yeah,
problem he had Alzheimer had Alzheimer's. He's in Jurich, and
apparently there they can do it because they just had
assisted suicide.

Speaker 7 (02:56:21):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:56:22):
He had he made the decision to end his life
before the condition progressed too far. Uh. And that's what
his brother told all those that were covering this. So,
I mean, I'm where his brother's name is Giannis. That
is strange. I find that odd. That is very right,
and I don't. Yeah so, I mean he had a

(02:56:44):
huge impact on educational toys, which I know, Greg, that's
one thing you're excited about. Yeah, yeah, but you know
they look good and then you get playing with him.
That's all right.

Speaker 9 (02:56:53):
I always you all have played with more educational toys.
There'll be a lot smarter than you are.

Speaker 3 (02:56:56):
Right now, the uh member of you for the dog
he rescued the two year old boy lost in Arizona.
You think this dog is getting showered with gifts. Let
me tell you something. The only thing that our country
loves more than a human being rescuing a two year

(02:57:17):
old writ now that person would get somewhat of a
pat on the back, ye for a day. But you
make it a dog a dog, I'll be honest, I'm
more inspired by I am the fact that it's a dog. Well,
because I'll tell you why is because it looks like
a dog. I would like what you're realizing. It is
really more spectacular that a dog has pulled this off
as opposed to a guy who was hiking found the boy.

(02:57:39):
Let's just say it now. The only part of that
story that I wonder about. And I love this story,
by the way, what they say love anything. They said
that the dog found him sleeping under a tree? Well,
how do they know that? What under tree? Sleeping? Sleeping
under tree? I mean the kids too, He could tell
you a little bit, right, Yeah, that part did not
make sense?

Speaker 15 (02:57:59):
Did he kid?

Speaker 3 (02:58:00):
Because we know Beuford didn't tell him, so did the child?

Speaker 17 (02:58:04):
Go?

Speaker 3 (02:58:04):
I was asleep and he woke me up. They can't
talk that good at too. He couldn't. He couldn't have
translated if you asked him, where did you for five trees? Yes,
let me ask both of you. Have you have two
year olds in your life right now? Could they? Could
they tell you that Beauford found them sleeping under a tree?

(02:58:29):
I mean she talks pretty good.

Speaker 15 (02:58:30):
Yeah, true.

Speaker 9 (02:58:31):
If they're a late two year old, maybe.

Speaker 3 (02:58:33):
Yeah, maybe close to three?

Speaker 9 (02:58:35):
Yeah, a sleepy tree dog found me?

Speaker 18 (02:58:38):
Right?

Speaker 3 (02:58:39):
Nope, I didn't know he's been found. Okay, now that
I wondering where it was. But anyway, it's a good story.
But the point is we're sending all this stuff to
be Buford don't care. He just wants to eat every day.
He didn't care that people are sending it because they
appreciate what he did.

Speaker 9 (02:58:53):
He is a cool looking dog.

Speaker 3 (02:58:54):
How about she had a ranch dog, which you know,
we let it go to. Did you realize that the
ranchers names were Dutting. Yeah, but it was dunting there
it was closed. That didn't make it as cool.

Speaker 15 (02:59:11):
Uh So.

Speaker 3 (02:59:12):
So Beauford has gotten all kinds of toys, chew toys, snacks,
a little bit of everything.

Speaker 8 (02:59:18):
Okay, they're saying, and we had a little bit of
it and I don't remember it. But the owner of
the dog, Buford was interviewed and the little boy, when
telling him about it, said he was sleeping under a
chick tree and the dog he found.

Speaker 9 (02:59:32):
So the boy was able to say, I was sleeping
under a tree.

Speaker 3 (02:59:34):
There you go, and your doggie found me. How about
that kid, that's according to the owner, if he's out
there and I'm lost in the middle of nowhere and
I'm just gonna lay down and get me. That's a
savvy too, you old brother there pretty good. And then
he's then Buford wakes him up. Oh Beuford, and he's thinking,
I'll just follow Buford. He knows where he's going. You
think it was a ton. Did he know to follow Buford?
I think he knows where he's going, or I'm just

(02:59:55):
following a dog that found me. Probably just following the dog, Okay, yeah,
I don't think he can quite figure out if you
were was going, but follow Yeah, I mean, I.

Speaker 9 (03:00:02):
Guess you can follow a dog if you're already lost.
Don't just follow a dog into the woods. When I
was a kid, then we got lost by following a dog.
I was lost like five hours in the woods.

Speaker 3 (03:00:11):
And the dog was actually to blame in that.

Speaker 9 (03:00:13):
Yeah, right, that's the dog getting certificate. If you guys
want that, I'm sure.

Speaker 3 (03:00:19):
Yeah, okay, I'll tell you one thing. Two things. You
couldn't hold it or read it right?

Speaker 9 (03:00:31):
It give you a certificate?

Speaker 3 (03:00:37):
Wait too much?

Speaker 12 (03:00:37):
Win?

Speaker 9 (03:00:38):
This guy did bringing this young boy home.

Speaker 3 (03:00:40):
We love you. There's a lot of wind and the
guys a mumbler. Yeah, I could tell too. He's a liquor. Yeah.
Did you see him. He's tall enough to where he's
the height of a two year old. Yeah, look at him.

Speaker 9 (03:00:50):
He's a liquor, not a fighter.

Speaker 3 (03:00:51):
You know that's it? Look it, sweet, little Beautford. Do
we really want rescue? Best on Beauford don't want a rancher.
He needs to hang out in the bar.

Speaker 18 (03:01:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:01:01):
When I first heard the story, if Beauford is telling
everybody I found the boy sleeping, the story is bigger
it is. There's more to it than just a lot
more to it. Yeah, we got young that kid and
they said, now they I know we were studying distance,
but they're saying he was seven miles from their home.
That's big. That's crazy, big story, huge story. Wow, Beauford

(03:01:23):
deserves everything you get. The kind of reminds me of
the man walking to a bar with a dog, and
those never turned out. My favorite always was the one
that talks, you know what I mean, goes on and
on and on and tells the guy all the places
he's been whatever. And then the guy goes back to
the bathroom. He said, you got an amazing dog. There
goes Oh, the exaggerates he never been nowhere. Well, I

(03:01:50):
don't know this real I D stuff. You know, the
rollout is approaching the real ID, but it's like it's
like they're not satisfied. They want to tearify you and
make you believe that if you don't have a real ID,
you're not flying anywhere. Domestically. But if you have a passport.
Every time I follow up and say, now, I have

(03:02:10):
a passport, can I not just use that? They always
say yes. But when you see the propaganda of the
real idea that option, it's like they pretend like that
is not an option when it is. I think they
should add that. And they also need to clarify that
if you don't get it by the deadline, it doesn't
mean you can never get one right. You can actually
also act like if you don't get it by then,
you're not getting one right. And of course now some

(03:02:32):
of the more look at them standing line unless I'm
flying out tomorrow, I'm not standing in that line. I'll
come back later. But yeah, it is true. I do
have to fly in May. A funny when they don't
and in June, and I'm just gonna use my passport
because I'm not standing at them. What if you're wrong,
we I can't. I'll keep asking and they're like, yes,

(03:02:54):
the Beastport will do. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (03:02:55):
They're telling everybody how how early that they need to
start arriving for their flights for the first week just
because of all the chaos, Like that.

Speaker 3 (03:03:04):
Person in line in the yellow pants Hey, well, you
got a trip coming up pretty soon. Maybe he does,
Maybe he does, saying he might not. I will tell
you what those people think that if they don't get
it by that day, they can't get it. Where are
you on those you know, coast to coast will be one.
Where are you on most eper They're saying, oh, well
this is a go this. I'm here government overreach again.
I'm hearing a lot of that. Well, getting you information,

(03:03:25):
so I got gonna mark you. I might as well
be the mark of the bees. Yep, that's what's happening.
I'm not bragging. This is just what happened.

Speaker 9 (03:03:32):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (03:03:32):
I got star I D back before COVID because that
was the original deadline, and you'll bring that up. My
driver's license expires in May. So I sit down and
look at didn't realize it to I was at the
bank and I said, hey, sir, you know so I'm like,
uh oh, so I'm like here, I go to the
d m V. You know I'm going and and I
know you do stuff online, but anyway, I was just

(03:03:54):
like going by there. Actually it was the day of
the Kevin Derbury golf tournament, and I said, I must
I'm a running in here and see what's up.

Speaker 3 (03:04:00):
So I went in there and they had a toe
where this is. They had a totally separate area for
just this.

Speaker 8 (03:04:06):
And you're I mean it was like, hey, you got
to sign up and get a time and all that,
and but because mine was already started, I just had
to renew it.

Speaker 3 (03:04:14):
And it felt so good going in there in ten minutes. Hey,
we know you got the star idea.

Speaker 8 (03:04:19):

a little number and they're waiting for their number to

not dealing with a phone screener. We're not losing one
of the four guys to go do that. Bottom line
is y'all know how to call, you know how to
get on the phone, and frankly you all seem a
little less confused by us doing it this way. But remember,

(03:05:23):
if you're calling, you're just gonna hear ringing until we answer.
And when you hear you're on unscreened phone calls or
welcome to the Rick Burgess Show. You're on unscreen phone calls.
Then you know that you're on and it's our discretion
whether the how the call goes. If we feel like
it's not going anywhere, then you may, you know, we
will probably end it pretty quick if we think you're

(03:05:44):
bringing something to the table. We're looking for, you know,
you to be you know, content providers with questions or comments. Uh,
let's get started. The number uh is eight eight eight,

Speaker 21 (03:08:35):
Well, because they after they murdered their parents, they remember,
they splurged and went and did a bunch of stuff.
And one of the things they did was court side seats,
Madison Square Garden, bulls and Knicks In twenty nineteen, it
was discovered that they're in the background, but very clearly
in the background of the Mark Jackson basketball card.

Speaker 15 (03:08:54):
At it right now.

Speaker 3 (03:08:57):
Yeah, they thought they were getting a way with it.

you here in the holidays at one of our grocery stores,
and I meant to ask you or tell you I
actually had the privilege and honor of playing football for
your Greg's father in nineteen eighty six, eighty seven, eighty eight,
eighty nine.

Speaker 17 (03:10:37):
Wow, And I was there.

Speaker 23 (03:10:39):

passing last year.

Speaker 18 (03:10:43):
So I want to pass my condults. Is there?

Speaker 35 (03:10:44):
Thank you one thing about one thing about your father, Rick.
You have maybe one or two men or coaches in
your life that you'd walk through fire for, and Coach
Burgess was one of those men. I did not want
to let him down under any circumstance, if you know
what I mean.

Speaker 3 (03:11:00):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, thank you man. That's that's kind to
say that.

Speaker 14 (03:11:04):
Yeah.

Absolutely, he was a great man in effected my life
in a very positive way.

with Greg and I and our sister and all his
grand kids.

Speaker 9 (03:11:22):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (03:11:23):
They they've all got to experience men saying the things
you say about that.

Speaker 12 (03:11:28):
He was.

Speaker 3 (03:11:30):
He was just one of those guys.

Speaker 16 (03:11:32):
Man.

Speaker 3 (03:11:32):
He he seemed to impact everybody that he influenced. And
I thought our friend Mickey Shadrick said it best. He
wasn't even really aware of it. It was like breathing
for him. It wasn't something he was trying to do.
It just it's just it just it was the way
he operated. And so we're Greg and I and Ange

(03:11:52):
and Mom all real fortunate that God blessed us with
him in our lives. Uh. Hey, you're on the Rick
Burgess Show. Unscreen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 31 (03:12:02):
Hey, I'm just wondering how long it's gonna be before
Disney gets ahold of this this dog story, yeah, as
a remake and turns it into you know, like a
little Black Boy with a kangaroo in Australia.

Speaker 9 (03:12:19):
It's fantastic.

Speaker 3 (03:12:20):
There was a day when Disney would have done this
story straight up, you know, like that what was that
thing they did with those three when that there movies,
those threewords bound, Yeah, homeward bound. But you're right, if
they did it now, they'd ruin it. They trying to
make some statement with it. When you can we not
just have a dog rescue a kid? Yeah, yeah, we continue.
You're on unscreen phone calls. This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 17 (03:12:40):
Go ahead, Hi, this is beautiful the dog.

Speaker 3 (03:12:45):
Congratulations guy, man.

Speaker 14 (03:12:48):
I appreciate it. Listen.

Speaker 21 (03:12:49):
I mean, I was just doing my rounds out there,
walking and checking on my ladies, and I've seen a
pair of legs laying there, and you know, I got
a little bit of Mississippi leg.

Speaker 3 (03:12:58):
All right, okay, okay, By the way, every bit of
this kind of stuff I blame on Garrett.

Speaker 15 (03:13:06):
Oh yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 17 (03:13:08):
Gary.

Speaker 3 (03:13:08):
Gary has calls every bit of this, every every bit
of this. He thinks people think, hey, if Gary can
do that, right, how does somebody take a sweet story
like that?

Speaker 22 (03:13:19):
Do that?

Speaker 3 (03:13:19):
How about that? Guy? Did sound like I would think
beepert would sound like, oh yeah, yeah, top of the
eye work. If you leave us, have a great day,
thanks for being with us.
