Speaker 1 (00:01):
You are.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Now it's Angelo what I call yee?
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Hey, what's up this way up at Angela yee And
a happy Tuesday to y'all. Hopefully you guys are all
caught up on white Lotus by now right, yes? No, no, okay,
Well anyway, make sure you do in case you haven't.
There's a lot of traffic, and we have this thing
in New York that I know we don't have anywhere
else in the United States called congestion pricing, where you
(00:35):
have to actually pay to come to Manhattan.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
It's a toll that you have to pay on a
daily basis.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
This was supposedly gonna cut down on traffic, but doesn't
feel like that happened. But they do this in other countries.
It's just something unique here, all right. So Mano was
running a little bit behind. That was why I told
that whole story. But in the meantime, let's start the
show with some love and some positivity. Let us shine
a light. Eight hundred nine fifty one fifty is a number.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
Call us up.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Let us know who you want to shine a light on.
I ran into somebody yesterday that I haven't seen in
a long time, and it made me think of some
stories from back in the day. So I'm gonna shine
a light on her when we come back.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
It's way up.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
I'm shine, I'm shine.
Speaker 6 (01:18):
Turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those who
are doing greatness.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Shine a light on them, shine a light on It's
time to shine a light on them.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
All right, it's way up with Angela yee, and it
is time to shine a light. And today I want
to shine a light on somebody who I actually ran
into yesterday who I hadn't seen in a long time,
and that is my friend who's also a publicist, the
Nobia Simmons. Now, we were also discussing how when nine
to eleven happened, we both lived in Jersey City at
(01:49):
the time, and she was actually at my house. I
live right near the Highland Tunnel, so that's in New
Jersey and that's right when you go over the bridge
and the World Trade Center is right there, and a
lot of people were coming to my house because the
phones weren't working. And she was just somebody who was
always super cool. She's a publicist, she's still working. She's
had over twenty plus years as a PR person. But
(02:09):
she's also a psychic, intuitive and that day she was
actually doing readings for people at my house because everyone
kept coming to my house because they didn't know what
was going on that day. So I ran into her yesterday.
So I just want to spread some love to her.
She's always been an amazing person. It's nice when you
can throw back and run into somebody who you know
since you were young and they still act the same.
All right, now, Kevin, who do you want to shine
(02:31):
a light on?
Speaker 7 (02:34):
Mom?
Speaker 8 (02:35):
Today is her retirement day.
Speaker 9 (02:40):
Social Administration.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Okay, all right, your mam is be tiring today. That's huge.
Speaker 8 (02:46):
Yeah, Tiller, thank you for being a great mom.
Speaker 4 (02:50):
Okay, what are y'all doing for her retirement?
Speaker 9 (02:52):
I planned on.
Speaker 8 (02:53):
Taking he ROUPI yasterday. I know she probably here now,
so it ain't gonna be no more surprised.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
But yeah, all right, that's nice. We shout out to
you and to your mama working hard all these times. Retirement.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
We all got to be be prepared for that one day.
You gotta start preparing for that now.
Speaker 9 (03:09):
Are Kevin?
Speaker 4 (03:10):
No, all right, let's get prepared now.
Speaker 8 (03:16):
Let's have an all.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Right you too?
Speaker 3 (03:18):
That was shining light eight hundred ninety two fifty one
fifty you know, if you couldn't get through, we can
play you for last word if you want to shine
a light on somebody. And when we come back, we
have your yea tea and let's talk about Lizzo. She's
discussing her weight loss, but she doesn't want to call
it weight loss.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
She has another name for it. Will tell you what
that is.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Also, Keenan Thompson for Saturday Night Live is talking about
uh an issue, a health issue that he had that
he was embarrassed to talk about.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Will tell you about it. It's way up, it says
in the rooms.
Speaker 6 (03:49):
From industry shade to all of gos so out send
Angela's speeling that yet.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
May Happy Tuesday. We're back in the building, back on a.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Map, back in the building. Yeah, all right, let's get
into this et.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
So, Lizzo was on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast and
she talked about a lot of things, including her body transformation,
body dysmorphia, going through things behind the scenes that people
may think happened overnight because you pop out and people
are like, oh, that just happened though with a lot
of journey you do.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Yeah, okay, I'm going through stuff.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Oh you we'll talk about it.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Yeah, But she talked about not calling her physical transformation
a weight loss, but rather a weight release.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Here's what she said.
Speaker 10 (04:33):
The weight that is no longer on me is not
just fat or physical. I released so much to get
to this point, and I think people can see that.
And I don't want to describe anything as loss, you know,
I don't want to. I'm not experiencing any loss. I've
actually gained so much. I've gained like a sense of self.
(04:56):
I gain like a lifestyle that I actually really love,
and I'm like, I can maintain this well good.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
And for me it feels like And the podcast is
over an hour long, but it's really great to hear
her talking about everything, including the new music. But I
think that her body positivity was so on Front Street.
And I was thinking about the Luther Vangols documentary, which
I said to her how he used to hate people
always would talk about his weight loss.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Like what gives people the permission to keep on asking question?
Speaker 9 (05:25):
Right?
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yeah, about somebody's personal things about their body, because for
some reason, people feel like they're allowed to talk to
you about that.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
If you're like anything, they have a right to say anything, right.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
You never know what somebody's going through, if it's a
sudden weight loss, or if it's a weight gain or struggles, and.
Speaker 11 (05:42):
It's you and you got the right to do whatever
you want to do. So if she wanted to lose weight,
that's what she wanted to do.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Right, Yeah, she did, And it's a release all right now.
Keenan Thompson for Saturday Night Life, who, by the way,
is the longest running cast member twenty two seasons on SNL.
He reveals, yes, he revealed it over two years ago.
He privately was suffering from painful acid reflux and it
(06:08):
got so bad that it affected his work. Before he
finally had to get help from it. He said he
would get horse a lot easier doing the show. He
lost his voice quicker, but also uncomfortable sleepless nights. He
was burping up acid, hiccupping all night, and it was
already stressful in the environment that he was doing a
live show. So he told People Magazine, so all of
(06:28):
those factors, I was like, whatever, I'll get over it.
But it just started to pile up. And he said
that he wasn't necessarily embarrassed to talk to a doctor.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
He just didn't know if he needed to.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
He finally did go and get help for it, and
there was a real medical term for it. It's actually
called gashto esophagial reflux disease GERD. So yeah, you can
never take things lightly. That's happening to your body, that's
causing you just comfort.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Keeps happening, like you gotta check it out.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
All right, Well that is your Yet when we come
back about last night, I want to know what you've
been up to me.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Yes, you may know, it's way up.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
So about last night, I went down.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Angela Yee and maybe dance and where were you last night?
And we didn't even get a chance to catch up.
Speaker 11 (07:20):
After we went to that wedding, it was lit, everybody dancing.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
You had a.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Chocolate mushroom bar and I had a tiny, tiny time.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
I feel like you had more than just My man stopped,
he was you know.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
What was going on?
Speaker 11 (07:36):
And I was like you okay, Yeah, yesterday I had
a lot of stuff to do around around Mayo Day,
so I had a lot.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
Of may O days coming up.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
People are already talking to me about mayn O Day,
like I'm on the planning committee.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Nice, So yeah, I was handling that.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
You know another thing that I've been talking to you
about because you also have main a day. I'm like, man, no,
you have to And I know you went to Rikers
Island and did somewhere.
Speaker 11 (08:00):
And I'm doing something with them like more, it's going
to be more permanent.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
See, And I was telling you that, right, I was.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Like, man, I need you to do more when things
into me just because I feel like, yeah, you've been
through a lot in your lifetime and you were you're
justice impacted, and you're the perfect spokesperson for people to
see that you can turn started.
Speaker 11 (08:24):
Really I started to really feel like that, like me
and you was talking and let's started to say who
else could really do this?
Speaker 4 (08:29):
But me?
Speaker 11 (08:30):
Who else is really better at this? Who can really
speak to them in a way that I could because I've.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Been through Yeah, because you go there and it makes
it more like Okay, it's rather than sending somebody that's
never just popularity. But I've been to MDC, but it's
different if I'm going there. I've never been locked up,
I've never been arrested, but for you to come in
there to know, like for ten years I did this.
I had my birthday right you know, and figuring out
how to make it through. You know, I'm a supporter
(08:59):
because I work with people and I have a lot
of friends and people close to me who are also
just as impacted. Because we don't like to say formerly incarcerated,
we say gesture impacted.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Is that the new thing is?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Yes, it's like saying unhoused instead of homeless.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
Yeah, the house it's crazy, listen.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Yeah, yeah, but yeah, you helped to get me on
track with that.
Speaker 11 (09:22):
So I got a few things I'm actually going with
Rikers Island shut out to bevil.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
I just want to say that.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Okay, all right, we like it.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Yeah, And when we come back, I want to talk
about this because we were at Dan's wedding, Dan Arita.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Their wedding was pretty amazing.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Now I know it was very stressful for him, and
this is something they've been planning for. I feel like forever,
I'm like, when is this wedding happening? But then it's
finally here. Now he's on his honeymoon, safely away. Everything's happened.
They really had afroagez J. That's a fact, and everybody
was fist pumping when I tell you, it went crazy
and then mano, you hepped one them and did all
(10:00):
the above and they had They were tossing Dan around like.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
A rag doll.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
I was crazy.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
He was crowdsurfing and everything. But it was really fun.
It was nice. It was it was really really dope.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
We was in the tripping.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Okay, anyway, I want to ask you guys, what is
the best wedding that you've ever been to?
Speaker 4 (10:17):
And why? What made it the best wedding? Eight hundred.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Fifty one fifty. What is the best wedding you've ever
been to? And why was it the best wedding? That's
eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
Give those people there props.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
The best wedding eight hundred two ninety two fifty one
fifty is way up.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
No day about to do this.
Speaker 6 (10:36):
One of the luos to train this women in radio audio.
Speaker 2 (10:38):

Speaker 3 (10:43):
This way up put Angela Yeah, I'm here, Maino's here, baby,
I'm here baby, and we are talking about the best
wedding you've ever been to. Now, we were just at
Dan and Rita's wedding. It was amazing, Yes, pumping Aprojack data.
You were so inspired you got on a mic and
did all the thought performing well, damn begged you to
do that. He was like, come on, that.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Is my guy.
Speaker 9 (11:03):
Man.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
I was proud to do that.
Speaker 12 (11:05):
And everybody was going crazy concepts.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
And I've been to some great weddings too, shout out
to NY and two. There's been some amazing weddings and
festivities my family members, my uncle from when.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
I got older. I think it's always better when you
get older.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
As a kid, it's like whatever, but when you get
old enough to appreciate it. Now, we want to know
about you, guys and the best wedding you've ever been to?
Speaker 4 (11:27):
What's up? TJ?
Speaker 5 (11:27):
What about you? What's good?
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Let us know me? And may don't want to know
what is the best wedding you've been to and why?
Speaker 9 (11:34):
The best one that I went to, like I said,
was my brother's wedding.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
Like the food was a one, Like that's what I said.
Speaker 7 (11:41):
Food food.
Speaker 9 (11:42):
They had seafood, high end food. It was open bar.
Plus I was in the wedding, so I made eat
even more popping. But then since we're from Newburgh, our boy,
our boy party popped up, so he came to the wedding,
so we had it, lived with everybody. Everybody was with
So that was the best wedding I've ever.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Been That's what I'm saying. Good food, good drinks.
Speaker 11 (12:05):
And then it has to turn into a party like
that has to turn into like a super vibe where
everybody's just dancing and not caring.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Right, you gotta be there. It can't be to.
Speaker 9 (12:14):
Tell you the old ladies was dancing. We had them
out their chairs on the walkers, on the dance.
Speaker 11 (12:19):
That's what I'm talking about. That's the vibe right there. Yeah,
then ain't like that. I don't want to be there.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Did you go with somebody?
Speaker 9 (12:28):
I went solo. I was single, So he's like he's
crashing them.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
Did you have a hookup?
Speaker 9 (12:32):
No, I didn't have a hookup. I'm looking for the
white type. I'm not looking for no hook up.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Okay, that's right, Yeah about your Instagram kidding.
Speaker 13 (12:44):
Type for the ladies. I'm looking for you type oheah.
Worked a couple of years ago.
Speaker 9 (12:57):
Thank you, thank you for having me.
Speaker 7 (12:59):
Hey, yea, how you doing.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
What's the best wedding you've ever been to?
Speaker 8 (13:04):
It was my cousin's wedding.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Okay, explain why, because it was my.
Speaker 8 (13:07):
First wedding that I ever went to. It's like, I've
been through so many funerals, I'm gonna go through a wedding,
so I'm going to his wedding. Just did something whom
He made me look at weddings totally different.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
It made you want to get married?
Speaker 7 (13:21):
Oh yeah, for sure.
Speaker 8 (13:23):
You know it made me want to get married, just stuck.
The spentth was just seeing that it happened in my neighborhood, Like,
all right, this is possible. You know, we get married,
especially at the day and age were living in. Right now,
it's funny who.
Speaker 7 (13:35):
Wants to get married?
Speaker 8 (13:36):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 9 (13:37):
Somebody's promoting married, right.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
I like that though.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
That's what a good wedding does. It makes you feel
like I'm next.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Right, That's how it made me feel. I'm getting married
in July. Okay, you're getting married in July, and thank you, bro.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
That wedding is gonna be lit.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
Yes, better where you having it at?
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Oasten But we're who I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
I'm not sure yet neither, Bro. It'll be July.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
We'll be there, right, you don't know where.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
And listen, man, those small details. It's just gonna happen
in July.
Speaker 5 (14:13):
We'll be there.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
TJ.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Pull up on me, TJ.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Hold on.
Speaker 8 (14:18):
I'm for sure coming all right.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Thank you well, Thank you guys for calling and listen.
We love these positive stories. So if you want to
leave a message eight hundred two nine to fifty one fifty,
we want to hear about the best winning you've ever
been to.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
And when we come back, we have your ye t.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Let's keep the positivity going, even though y'all want to
argue about this. Billboard put out a list of the
top twenty five women rappers ever of all time.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
We'll tell you who made the list. You know who's
number one. It's way up.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Don't she about to blow the lid ab off this pot?
Speaker 6 (14:47):
Let's get it angelus feeling that ye te Come.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
And get the tea.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
It's way up with Angela. Yee Mano's on a toilet,
so let's get right into this. Yet, Anthony Edwards has
agreed to give Ayisha Howard full custody of their five
month old daughter, Aubrey. They've been having this awful paternity battle,
he told the court in Georgia. He consented to the
mom of two, receiving temporary soule physical and legal custody
(15:11):
of the infant, and he also wants the court to
establish his child support obligations. There were these rumors that
he was giving her a one time payout. Ayisha Howard
has since said that that is not true. So I
guess this is how this is playing out. There's been
a lot of drama for the two of them that
has been publicly happening. So yes, all right, now let's
(15:34):
get into the twenty five best female rappers of all time.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
This is according to Billboard.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
So many things to dissect here, but I'll tell you
who's in the top ten. Number ten on the list
Foxy Brown, Number nine is Eve, Number eight Roxanne Chante,
Number seven Salt and Peppa. Number six is MC light.
Number five is Queen Latifa. Number four four is Little Kim,
Number three is Lauren Hill, Number two is Missy Elliott.
(16:05):
And number one on the list, you know it is
Nicki Minaj. Are you surprised at all by that? No?
All right, well, I think it's always hard when you
have these lists of the top you know, rappers period,
and this is not just in this like past year,
not this past decade. This is of all time. Now
other people who are who made the list. Carti b
(16:27):
was number eleven on the list, and you know, Carti
has a new album coming out, and I think that
is gonna determine a lot because to be clear, while
she's done a lot of guest appearances, Carti does still.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
Only have one album.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
Now. People would also argue about Laurence Hill, but Lauren
Hill was also part of the Fujis. She did have
the miseducation and so she's had a lot of longevity
and I think even making this top list, you know,
under those circumstances. Number twelve is the Bratt, Number thirteen
is Trina, Number fourteen.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Left Eye, but fifteen is making the Stallion.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Number sixteen Doja Cat, Number seventeen is Rhapsody eighteen Remymn,
Number nineteen is Little, and number twenty is my Girl
Mony Love. So those are just some of the people
on the list. I see Tierra Wack made the list DOCI.
Some people were saying that DOCI should be up higher.
Some people were.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Saying it's a little early for that. I don't know. Nick,
you're a DJ, what were your thoughts when you saw this.
Speaker 5 (17:24):
List, I think it's pretty accurate. I think they're going
by billboards sales or charts, that's what it looks like
to me, or accolades.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
So well, it's the Billboard staff, right that compiled this list.
So the criteria was body of work achievements, which is
albums and singles that have charted, Golden platinum certifications, cultural
impact and influence, longevity, lyrics and flow.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
So those are all and that's a lot of.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Different things to take into account, but longevity is one
of them. So it is hard to say if you're
earlier in the game, you know, how can you.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
Launch be higher than In my opinion, definitely, she does
towards it this day.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
She's had a ton of cultural impact and influence and
a lot of longevity. Yeah, but I will say she
maybe some people feel like not enough bodies of work,
but she is number three on the list.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
I mean that is pretty high.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
Oh well, okay, yeah, that's fine.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
What Nober did you think she was?
Speaker 5 (18:18):
I thought you said something else early.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
I'm sorry, all right, Well that is your Yet. Meno
is still on the toilet and under the radar. I
hope he has his feet elevated so they don't fall
asleep under the Radar's next.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
Is way up the news.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
News. This in the news that relates to you. These
stories are flying under the radar, all right.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
It's way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here, Meno's here
back again under the radar. Now, this is really sad.
At least twenty seven people were killed and dozens more
injured the roof of a nightclub and the Dominican Republic
collapse this morning, and more than one hundred people have
been rescued alive from the jet Set nightclub. It's in
Santo Domingo, which is the capital. Roof caved in at
(19:00):
around one am local time. Merangue artists Robbie Perez and
his orchestra were performing on stage when that happened, so
it looks like a lot of people were actually present
at that time too. Major League Baseball star Octavio Dotel
was one of the lucky few who was pulled alive
from the rubble of that night club. He was among
(19:22):
at least eight people who were rescued after the roof
came down. And they're also saying that Nelsi Cruz, the
governor of Monte Cristi, was among the people who were
unfortunately killed during that according to authorities. So yes and
Dotel was originally signed by the New York Mets and
then later played for the Yankees. So he was at
the club, but he did make it out alive after
(19:43):
their reports that he was missing.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
Isn't that awful?
Speaker 3 (19:46):
They don't know yet what made the roof come crashing
down the way that it did.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
So why people in that party and the roof just
came down.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Yeah, the roof collapsed and it looks like I mean,
there was a ton of people in there. I see pictures,
I haven't seen video footage. All right, Now, let's talk
about what's happening with these tariffs with China. You know,
we're there's fifty percent tariffs right now, right according to
Donald Trump, and that is the latest threat an additional
(20:16):
fifty percent tariff on Chinese goods unless Beijing reverses its
retaliatory levees on US imports. And right now, according to
the Ministry of Commerce in China, they're saying that the
United States is blackmailing them, and they said that Beijing
will fight to the end. But Donald Trump, just about
an hour ago has said that they are waiting for
(20:36):
China to call. He said, you know, China also wants
to make a deal badly, but they don't know how
to get it started.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
We are waiting for their call. It will happen.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
So he's doing all these threats and then negotiating and
then taking them back, but then reimposing it. I don't
know what's going on. Yeah, it's a wild time stock market.
You were like, is it time, Goyd bye? While things
are down. We don't know what's going to happen. It's volatile,
but that is your under the radar. We do have
(21:06):
the way it mixed for you guys at the top
of the hour. Plus we have more yet. Plus we
have asked ye And now that Mayo's back, I know
you want to talk about this list of the twenty
five best female rappers of all time. We want to
know from you guys who you think should have made
the list, who should have been higher up. Just let's
get your feedback. We'll do that in the next in
(21:27):
the next hour. But in the meantime, we got the
way it mixed for y'all. At the top of the hour.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
It's way up.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Just like to talk like they Angela Jean, like they
Angela jean Man.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
She's spilling it all. This is yet way up.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
It's way up an uh all the way up, yes,
and it's trying to get into this yet so bad
news for Slim Thug. His apartment in Houston has been robbed.
Thieves got away with jewelry, cash, and a whole lot more.
According to TMZ, they said this happened yesterday around eleven pm.
Security at the complex discovered it. They said the door
(22:01):
had been forced open, multiple items were stolen. Slim Thug
was not at the apartment during that time, but they
did talk to authorities, did talk to Slim Thug over
the phone.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
So nobody's been arrested.
Speaker 5 (22:13):
Yet.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
That has to be the ultimate violation.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
Someone's in your home and you're not there, they take
your items all right. Now, Young Thug has responded to
a fan who went and got some of his lyrics
tattooed on his body. The only problem is that he
got the wrong lyrics. Now, he was trying to play
tribute to the song Digits and it says horses don't stop,
(22:36):
they keep going.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
On his back.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
But the problem is and then there's also when the
images of horses galloping.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
Only thing is, Young Thug.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Said, restless stop.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
Listen, But I could understand why the honest listen to this.
Speaker 12 (22:55):
We got learning the track, don't stop?
Speaker 4 (23:02):
Play that one more time on.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Horses all this time, one more time.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
Let me hear that because we got learning the track.
I heard that clear, don't stop.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
I would have got the same time too. I'm sorry
I would have got that tattoo.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
You can lose your life with these horses now.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Young Thug responded that he is going to start talking
with more clarity.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
Damn bro. But a lot of people did think he
was saying.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
You thought he was saying, I almost got the same tattoo.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
You didn't. But I guess horses make sense because horses do.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
But horses do stop going.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
But the way that you know, where do horses not stop?
Speaker 11 (23:45):
But the thing is, though we see horses, they in
motion right now, sometimes they're chilling. Yeah, but I understand
it felt like that's what he said, all.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Right, I could see its all right now.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Russell Brand he was on his Stay Free podcast yesterday.
On that episode, he addressed his rape charges and he
started talking about how he basically at a certain point
just had an unquenchable sexual desire.
Speaker 14 (24:16):
Here's what he said, because I've always been open. You
can go and watch my stand up comedy, you can
read my book. I couldn't have been more clear that
I was out there having sex with anybody who wanted to.
Speaker 5 (24:27):
And let me tell you, when you're a famous.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Guy, people are up for it. People are up for it.
Speaker 5 (24:31):
I got a big honest here.
Speaker 14 (24:33):
That's part of the reason I ever bothered becoming famous
in the first place, which I thought, this will be
a glorious opportunity for hedonistic adventure. Surely then my life
will mean something. Surely I can find some value in
the comfort of strangers. Surely I can lose myself in
endless pleasure, all right.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
He also implied that he will take the stand in
his trial and he wants to tell the truth in court.
He also says that these things are fast because he
wasn't famous seatt. He said, the allegations relate to events
between nineteen ninety nine and two thousand and four. You
probably wouldn't have even heard of me until two thousand
and five or two thousand and six, So it means
that when you heard of me, these things are already
(25:11):
alleged to have taken place, but he said he's only
being charged now because he's been speaking out against the
deep state.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
So I don't know what's going to happen with this,
but uh, I don't know. Russell brand of doing a.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
Podcast episode is probably the best idea, all right, And
Kai Sinnott, he is now one of the models for
the new bape By Kids super collection that's going to
be launching on April twelfth, so you can take a
look of that online. So congratulations to him for that.
All right, Well that is your yet. When we come back,
ask yee. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty
(25:46):
is a number.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Call this up.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Any question you have, We are here to help you out. Again,
that's eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. These
horses don't stop.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
We keep going, baby ass. He is next, whether.
Speaker 6 (25:56):
It's relationship or career advice. Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
You should you should know.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
What's up his way up at Angela Yee. I'm here
with my guy Maino and it is time for ask ye.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is a number.
Any question you have, We're here to help. We got
Jordan on the line. Hey, Jordan's Hi. Hi, it's me
and mano. What's your question for ask?
Speaker 7 (26:19):
Ye? Okay, So my homegirl, she's with her man.
Speaker 8 (26:24):
She literally got his name a few weeks ago.
Speaker 7 (26:27):
How do I get her?
Speaker 9 (26:29):
You hate?
Speaker 8 (26:32):
No, you're not happy, and you're three mind three minds?
Speaker 5 (26:36):
God, that is so well.
Speaker 4 (26:39):
She's she's in love.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Get you a man, girl, But but she's in love.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Right three months? Is her man good to her? I mean, yeah,
you should be happy for her.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
I'm gonna be honest, Like a lot of times when
women get into relationships, you know, that does take a
priority over a lot of other friendships that you may have.
What you need to do is let her know you
miss her. Just be like I miss you, and plan
ahead for you guys to do something. So it might
be like, okay, you know, can you just carve out
a little time, let's go to dinner, let's do something.
(27:11):
Because she's in a relationship, she's happy, her man is
and should be her best friend, you know, and maybe
for you it's something that is not like you're a
little jealous.
Speaker 12 (27:20):
It might it might feel like you're you jealous, which
is okay, Oh my god, find somebody you can.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
That's my advice.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
I mean, you can't tell somebody what to do and
what not to do in their relationship. That's the thing, right,
she's in love and you said he treats her well.
You should be supportive of the relationship. And you should
also just ask her when can we spend some time
together and make a plan. Maybe you have to come
up ask her when she's available and be like, all right,
I want to take you out so we can catch up.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Well, ask her for him to get you a friend.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
I knew it you were going to say that.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
So she out here lonely and hating.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
I mean, but he's not cute.
Speaker 7 (28:07):
I don't know if the friends are going to be cute.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
Oh my gosh, well look he's cute to her.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Oh now you're going. Now you're gonna diss him and
say he's not cute.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
And that's all.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
But you also have to identify within yourself why this
bothers you so much, because it's not just the fact
that she's busy with her man.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
But for some reason this is bothering you.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
And sometimes we don't identify in ourselves like maybe I
am a little jealous, maybe I am a hater, maybe
I do want something like that for myself. Maybe I
do also at the same time miss my friend. The
other thing is, if you are being a bit of
a hater, her man ain't gonna want her around you.
And she's also going to be defensive of her relationship,
and so if he's good to her, support that let
(28:47):
her know, be like, look, I know you all in
love and whatnot. You got your man, but can we
get a little time, you know, me and you together
because I love that for you, but I also miss you.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
Okay, but you gotta really love it for her for real.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Stop hating because you would be mad if she was
with a guy who was real terrible to her. So yeah,
so just celebrate that your friend found somebody who could
potentially beat the one. And so understand she's also going
to be a little busy because she's with her man,
and you know, one day y'all will go on some
double dates.
Speaker 9 (29:16):
True.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
All right, Well take care okay, thanks, no problem, jeordie,
And when we come back, man.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
No, speaking of the women, let's talk about the twenty
five best female rappers of all time, not just of
twenty twenty five, not just of this decade, of all time.
Will tell you who Billboard put on the list. I
want to see what you think of these rankings. It's
way up, yeah, turn me up.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
Here, we go up there.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
This is way up with Angela. Ye, what's up?
Speaker 4 (29:43):
Its way up with Angela. Yee.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
I'm here, Romino's here and we're talking about this Billboard
twenty five best Female Rappers of all Time. Now on
this list, number twenty five is Tierra Whack, followed by
doci A number twenty four, then Gangs, Taboo, Lady of Age,
Gloilla Lotto's on the list, Moni Love. And the way
they did this list, it was with body of work, achievements,
(30:04):
charted singles, albums, gold, platinum certifications, cultural impact and influence, longevity,
lyrics and flow. And so it's a tough thing to
do to put together a list of the top twenty
five of all time. There's definitely some people that should
have been on this list. Ooh man, it's hard to Okay, See,
it's hard because some people you feel like they had
(30:25):
an impact, but maybe they just didn't have enough catalog,
you know what I'm saying. And then it's also like
with the time periods, like I wouldn't mind seeing cash
Doll on the list, you know, in the top twenty five,
because she's been doing her thing for a while.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
And then I think back of like who else was
really dope to me?
Speaker 8 (30:50):
Boss?
Speaker 4 (30:51):
But see shot, But she did have some influence at
a time.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
At a perce.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
That's why it's hard, though, because it encapsulates all of
these things like body of work, longevity.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
You know, of course I agree with Lauren Hill being
on this list.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
You know, there's women who were in groups that didn't
necessarily have solo projects that you might be like, they
should be on the list.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
Who do you think is missing?
Speaker 1 (31:17):
I think they kind of got everybody I'm trying to think.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
I know, it's hard because you got to really think about, like,
you know, who has an amazing book, Clover Hope. She
actually has a book about the women of hip hop,
and that's something that we should reference or anybody.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
Who's listening to going. Her book is called The mother
Load one.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Hundred plus Women who made Hip Hop, and so I
think like this would be a great book for us
to reference at a time like this.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
Think about jj Fad.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
I was about to say that bw A.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
A the attitude, you know, I do two minute brother.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
All right, well, look at what you guys think what
women should have been on this list or what order
of this list?
Speaker 5 (32:00):
Do you agree with it?
Speaker 4 (32:00):
Do you disagree? Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one
fifty yes?
Speaker 7 (32:03):
That?
Speaker 4 (32:04):
What do you think?
Speaker 8 (32:04):
Are you talking about?
Speaker 9 (32:05):
Like Foxy Brown, Queen Thief, Rod Digger right partid Okay?
Speaker 3 (32:09):
I know, first I didn't see Rod Digga didn't make
the list. Oh no, be up there, I know, but
they didn't put her on the list. I thought about
Rod Digga too, Digga Digga birth named rod Shia.
Speaker 5 (32:20):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (32:21):
I beat that with a bad You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
Listen, I feel you on that. Who else do you
think should have been on here?
Speaker 9 (32:29):
Would have bred?
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Yeah, Brass, number twelve, the right training, the number thirteen.
You you know, the whole list.
Speaker 9 (32:37):
Come morning, I'm got to say, uh.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
Who's your favorite?
Speaker 7 (32:43):
Lliot?
Speaker 8 (32:43):
That Elliot is mis Elliott and r.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
I might have would have put Rhapsody up higher.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Yeah, I would have put I think I would have
put what about Leyo Yellow up there?
Speaker 4 (32:52):
Yo, Yo's not on the list.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
I would have put Foxy in and Cleave ahead of
Rock sat Chante a little.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
Bit, okay, right, sans number eight okay, Kim, Hey, so
we're talking about this list that bill Board put together
twenty five best female rappers ever.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
Who do you think and what do you think about
this list?
Speaker 8 (33:11):
Glomorially should not.
Speaker 7 (33:12):
Be onst She's not top twenty five yet.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
She's got hits, man, but I don't think she's top
twenty five.
Speaker 5 (33:16):
See that's the whole line.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
But she's had a lot of hits real fast. Yeah,
that don't be top twenty five.
Speaker 8 (33:21):
This is a nice short run, you know, I don't know.
It's not top twenty five.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
That's what it's hard though. It's so hard to say
sex resident on the list. She had a lot of hits.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
Yeah, and that's the same thing. She shouldn't be on
the list.
Speaker 9 (33:33):
That was there.
Speaker 5 (33:35):
That is true.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
If Gloriala's on there, I think Sexy Red deserve to
be on the list too. Shout out to her, right, but.
Speaker 8 (33:40):
Maybe yeah, put them top sixty, but not top twenty five.
Speaker 4 (33:43):
Oh maybe, Angie Martinez, No, she'll be so mad at
me for saying that.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Sorry, Angie's week that the Ladies night that was with
your record.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
That's a good record, all right, well, thank you for calling.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Thank you all right, Well you guys, you can still
call us up eight hundred and two nine two fifty
one fifty and leave your feedback for last word, It's
way up.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Take up the phone taping to get your voice heard.
What the word is? Here's the last word on Way
Up with Angela Yee?
Speaker 4 (34:12):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Its way up with Angela Yee. I'm here and of
course you may know it's in the building.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
Good time.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
I had a good time with you today. We both
agreed twenty five best female rappers of all time. Not
mad at Nicki Minaj being number one on that list,
well deserved, well earned. And again our producer Dan is
away on his honeymoon until the nineteenth, So it's grime
mode here. I told you today I want to actually
write something for you. So I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Yeah, and I like you.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
I like you, you like your idea.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
I love the idea.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Okay, I'm already it's gonna be really funny.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
We you know, we practice my different walks, like so
we had a lot going on.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
May have got a different walk from when he goes
to Saint Thomas for Carnival, which we will be at
this year. Sure, then when he goes into the strip club,
then when he goes into a business meeting, you walk different,
different every time, with.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
Your head high. All right, well anyway, this is your show,
so you have the last word.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
What's up?
Speaker 7 (35:06):
Ye? What's up?
Speaker 8 (35:06):
They know that list is buggy.
Speaker 9 (35:09):
How they got Foxy Brown at number ten? Who's Jean Gray?
Speaker 7 (35:13):
Foxy couldn't go before Jean Gray?
Speaker 14 (35:15):
Like?
Speaker 8 (35:15):
Who makes these less up?
Speaker 9 (35:17):
That's a bad fat chorry.
Speaker 7 (35:18):
I just wanted to say the best when I went
to was in New Orleans. My cousin got married, and
when I tell you, he has laid out. We had
the marching band, we had the police escort. Best way
I haven't been to in my life
Speaker 2 (35:31):
Going way out, turn out with Angela Yee
