Yeah, for the new beat underneath the applies vocals. Yeah,
all right, Well I'm back. I was on vacation.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
You was all over.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
I feel like every night you're on some type of
mission because you know, why what you should be because
the weddings in four days?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
You know what that hurt?

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Right, you should be on a mission.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
It's not happening in the way I envisioned it.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
You thought you I got some d M some women
that want to marry you. So maybe we just yeah,
maybe we need to go through the Yeah, because you
set this date and you set the bar high, and
now you can't. You gotta do it. You gotta go
through it. This wedding man.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
All right.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Well we also have a major announcement in the next hour,
which I'm excited and you were part of this. Yes,
so I can't. I'm glad you'll be here to announce it. Yeah.
I wish it was a secret, but I already posted
it on Instagram. Yeah, but yes, so we'll.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Talk about to do with my homeland.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
It does it's your homeland, give it space. All right, Well,
let's get the show started with some love and some
positivity and shout out to everybody in Saint Martin, where
I was just on vacation for my best friend from
high school's birthday. When I tell you amazing, amazing trip.
We'll talk about it later, but let's shine a light
eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty callus ups,
press and love this way, yep.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
Turn your lights on, y'all spreading love to those who
are doing greatness.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Light on, shine the light on. It's time to shine
a light on.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
All right, his way up with Angela. I'm here with
my guy New Main and it's time to shine a light.
And today let's shine a light on Keith Powers. He
actually posted about day two hundred of no alcohol.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Oh that's my guy. Yeah, yeah, we work tells together.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Well, he said, I could tell anxiety really affected me
because there'd be things I was invited to, like an
industry party, and before I go to the party, I
got to take a shot of alcohol so I won't
have to deal with the anxiety. So fortunately for him,
he is now sober. So congratulations. I know that's not
an easy journey for anybody. You know who else has
been sober right now too, Marcus Jordan. He actually posted

(02:25):
his chip you know, the other day too, so he
was let me see what this date was. He was
ninety days sober at this point, so it's probably about
one hundred and something days now. So shout out for
that way. Yes again, something that is not easy. When
I was in Saint Martin, just now Rowando, Bryce and
shout out to my guy Rolando. He actually was sober

(02:47):
for three years.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
He's back to drinking hope. Oh wow. Really, but you
can do both and just have balance.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
I think that going sober and then saying okay, now
let's have limitations.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Right, it's no wrong.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
But whatever you want to do, you know we support
it all right. Well, Rodney, who do you want to
shine a light on?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
I want to shine the light on my girl and
Nicole Freedom. You know what I mean. She's from New Jersey,
mother for beautiful.

Speaker 6 (03:17):
Okay, skin everything.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Skin long hand word. No, No, it.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Sounds like you had a good night last night.

Speaker 7 (03:27):
He was dreaming about him natural here and you know
I rolled out to Georgia from Florida.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
You know what I mean. Okay, we celebrate her birthday.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
You definitely sound like you would love. Yeah, definitely, all right,
but thank you for calling.

Speaker 6 (03:44):
You're looking at how all right.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Bru may don't want to be like that in love?
Well that would shine of light eight hundred and two
nine two fifty one fifty In case you couldn't get through,
you can shine a light for last word. And when
we come back, we have your yet and first and foremost,
we got to pay respect to Malcolm Jamal Warner. We
got to send some love to his family. Really really
really tragic situation. Over the weekend. We'll talk about it.

(04:10):
It's way up the rooms.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
From industry shade to all the gossip out send angelas spilling.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
That it's way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Wait up.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
All right, Well, we have the most unfortunate news. And
I know this shook everybody, but Malcolm Jamal Warner has
died in Costa Rica. He was only fifty four years old.
It was an accidental drowning that happened. They said he
died of asphyxia after he was caught by a high
current in the ocean. That's according to ABC News, and

(04:43):
they found his body Sunday afternoon. I see that. You know.
It was said that he went out, didn't return for
an hour, and that's when it turned into Yeah, but
he was just swimming, you know, if you know how
to swim, and it's they said they were bystanders efforts
to save him, but he had no pulse by the
time authorities arrived. At first respond to TOE reporters, there

(05:06):
was another man that was transported to a nearby hospital
and critical condiction and critical condition, so so devastating.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah, that's so sad.

Speaker 8 (05:16):
Man.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Now, recently he was on Melissa fors Hit and Bothered
podcast and he talked about his legacy on that podcast.
Here's what he said.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
I remember my.

Speaker 9 (05:24):
Mother said to me one time, mister Cosby gave you immortality.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
So there's legacy there.

Speaker 9 (05:32):
But also because those former years were always about life.
Because I've had this full life after that show, there's
another lane of legacy that I get to leave and
I'm still working through that, all right.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
In addition to that, Bill Cosby actually spoke a spokesperson
for him says that Bill Cosby is devastated. And here
is what Cosby's spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt said, as a fan
of the show. Yeah, but his first spokesperson said, as
a fan of The Cosby Show. Every young boy's dream
was to be THEO and have a family like the Huxtables. However,
that dream came true when God gave me the honor

(06:10):
and pleasure to represent mister Cosby. I got to do
it for the culture, just like to the Cosby Show,
save many cultures. And here's what Bill Cosby had to say.

Speaker 8 (06:19):
He is an honest person and that media I hope
will show the respect for him.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
You know a lot of people have showed their respect
for him too. By the way, it hasn't been you know,
anything but love. Ivtna Cole Brown said, this loss has
devastated me. I don't have the words right now, so
I'm repurposing these beautiful ones from my dear friend who
I adored and showed a video of him speaking. Also
Morris Chestnut to Roger p Henson, Eddie Griffin, tap At
the Brown, Tracy Ellis Ross, so many people showing him

(06:53):
love after this really tragic incident that happened. So yes,
again we got to show some love to And you know,
it's interesting because when something like this happens, I feel
like his legacy is so amazing that even if you
obviously don't know him personally, it still hits like.

Speaker 7 (07:10):
Right right, right, of course, because it feels like you
knew him, like this is one of those iconic shows,
iconic roles, and we all grew up off that. Yeah,
you know, I was sitting around wondering while while we
wasn't the Huxtables all right?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Well, shout out to Malcolm Jamal Warner again into his family.
I know this has to be really difficult. Something like
this just completely unexpected and everybody is going to be
showing their love. But as information is coming in, I
will let you know exactly what's happening with any type
of memorial services and updates. That is your ut. When
we come back, we have about last night. That's where
we discussed what we did last night. You know, I

(07:47):
just got back from Saint Martin and it was one
of my best friend's birthdays. It was a girls trip
of ten of us. So I'll talk about it.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
It's way up, So about last night, he went, Yeah,
last night, it's way up at Angela.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Ye, I'm here, my guy, Maino's here where you Ben Mayino?
You got this money coming up and you are not prepared.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
I am not. And it's sad right now because I'm behind.

Speaker 7 (08:14):
Like I thought that right now I will already be
in a full fledged relationship.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
So what are we gonna do about this twenty So.

Speaker 7 (08:21):
I mean, I still got four days to really meet somebody,
you know, fall madly in love and then well.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
Your wedding is the same day as Clarissa Shill's fright
in Detroit, so maybe you'll find somebody there.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
I was supposed to get married on that day and
not meet somebody.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
If give me somebody in the morning or the day before, anyway,
I feel like it could still happen. I just got
back from Saint Martin and it was my best friend
from high school's birthday, but it was ten of us
on this trip. Villa was amazing. Shout out to my
girl Michelle know out there, who always hooks it up
for us every time. It was eight bedrooms nice. Yeah,

(08:58):
so it's really nice. Everybody had their own space. It
was super fly, and we went out a lot. I'm
gonna just tell you the first day, Yes, no, guys,
the first day we had a private chef. Shout out
to Dina when I tell you that food was amazing.
I knew everybody. I'm like the planner for the trip,
and that's how I am on every trip. But I
knew nobody was gonna want to actually go out because

(09:18):
everybody was coming in at different times, and so we
had a private chef and when I tell you, it
was so great the food. Shout out to you, Chef Diino.
After that, the next day we went to we went
to Bamboo House for dinner for her actual birthday, and
then I mean we had like a nice itinery I
tried not to overdo it. Then we went to Nikki

(09:39):
Beach for the day in Saint Bart's the following day,
and then that we took a boat over. Yes, we
had a boat. That boat ride is not easy. It
definitely took some drama, meaning because I get the motion sickness. Yeah,
so I took that drama mean, but it was cool.
It's like a little bit over an hour to go
from Saint Martin to Saint Bart's on the boat. We
came back that night and then Jennifer and I went out.

(10:00):
Out of the ten of us, only me and Jennifer
made it out to the club. Really we went to Lotus.
Shout out to Manny my guy Rolando. We did a
lot of things locally also, and then we went to
the strip club Red Diamond. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Nice. You can't go somewhere and not go to the
strip Clay.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
And then the last day we went to Calatua and
then we went to another bar called Nowhere Special. But
you know, had a nice, packed full itinerary with my girls.
And it's nice to be on a trip where everybody
is overly willing to pay for what they need to
pay for. Nice, So shout out to those types of trips.
All right, Well, when we come back, we have a
major announcement speaking of the Virgin Islands that's going to

(10:37):
be happening at the top of the hour. And you
played a huge role in this, New Mano. I mean,
you know this is what I'm here for, right all right,
it's way up.

Speaker 5 (10:46):
This yeah yeah, more way up with now.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Yeah, it's way up at the Angela Yee. I'm here
with my guy new Mano and we got to talk
about this really big announcement.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Let's talk about it, okay.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
So mayno, you came with us to Saint Thomas Carnival,
my homeland, your homeland. So where's your family from St.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Thomas and Saint Croix so.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
You managed to also get back in contact with some
family members.

Speaker 7 (11:15):
That's right, some family that I've just met, I've never
met before. My mother's brother, Okay, John Ingerman.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Because you knew that was the last name. That's right,
that was actually your last name.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
It was I was born Jermaine Ingermand.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
But the other thing that happened that was amazing on
this trip was got a chance to see Lima Roau again.
At Carnival.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
I met Lima and she is.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
A woman owner of a radio station out there in
the US and British Virgin Islands. I just came from
Saint Martin the British Virgin Islands, and you know, I'm
planning to go back to Saint Thomas in the US
Virgin Islands, to Saint Croix. They're Carnival's coming up too.
But we had a conversation. Lima Roau had always been like, oh,

(11:58):
I would love to get you, you know, on the
era out here, but loos of people say things right,
and you're like culho. But made of being the follow
up person that you are, and I stepped in, You
stepped in. Tell me about these conversations.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
It was it was just.

Speaker 7 (12:11):
Easy, she told me she was always interested in doing
you know, business with with our heart and bringing the
show out there because she not only she catches the
whole Virgin Islands. Right, So I was like, man, this
is this would be dope if we broadcasting.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Follow up is impeccable.

Speaker 7 (12:31):
I just want to say, you know, we were talking
about it and I called you.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
You told me you was with it.

Speaker 7 (12:36):
You put me with the person that I needed to
speak to, and wed.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
And guess when I found out. I was at the
Grazie Awards and that's when I heard, Hey, it's happening.
So the big news is that way up with angela
ye in the Virgin Islands is yes, launching, I would
launched yesterday. Actually yes, we have joined there week a
ten am to two pm slot. Right, So shout out

(13:03):
to our girl Lee Morou, shout out to one of
one point three row FM away.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Up Emain that you like me built over there.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Now it's now officially international. Yeah, and we're so excited.
This is our first international indicated station. And it means
a lot to me. As I said, you're from.

Speaker 7 (13:20):
I'm from Saint Time and San Krois, so it means
a lot to me. So now when I come back,
they have that parade ready for me.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
And you know, for me just having Caribbean roots as well,
that's a big deal for me also just because of
if you even listen to everything that we do up here,
I'm very into dance hall, reggae, Soca, calypso, all of that. Yes,
so yes, we have you doing an amazing what was you?
Is that a Soca song?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Soa all right, yeah, no, no the term now.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
But I'm just excited and so yes, we're we're on
the station. Everybody that's been blowing up and listen, shout.
I'm happy, shout out to you, Lima Rowe. And I
love the fact that it's a woman. She's actually guest
hosted up here as well.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
She came along the station.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
There's a lot of power in this, so thank you
for that. And when we come back, we got your
yet so many things to talk about, I mean, basketball, wives,
crazy situations. I know we're going to get into that
later today. Your wedding, Yes, just all kinds of things.
Shemiah versus Portia, just reality TV is on fire right now,

(14:33):
so we have yet. But right now, let's hear some
Kevin Little. Let's hear some term me on. Let's flash
it back to that and let's catch a vibe. It's
way up.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
She's about to the lid abof this spot.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Let's get it.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
Angela's building at ye te Come and get the tea.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
It's way up at the Angela yea with my guy man.
You know, people will always tell you that reality TV
can break up even the best of friendships and even
marriages at times. Well on Real Housewives of Atlanta, it's
a shame that Shemiah and Porsche it looks like their
friendship is taking a turn for the worst. I don't
think it's beyond repair, but it's been pretty rocky now.

(15:09):
When the season first started and Shamia was given her
peach because this is her first season having a peach
and not being a friend of the show, she was
up here on Way Up and here's what she had
to say about her relationship with Porsche.

Speaker 10 (15:19):
I can only focus on me. I try to be
the best friend that I can be to my friends
and hope that it's reciprocated. And when it's not, there's
only so much I can do about that. I can
just want to continue to show up and be the
person that I know how to be how my parents
raise me.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Now, throughout this season, she's been called the lapdog to Porsche.
She's been getting a lot of criticism because it feels
like she's always taken up for Porsche. But it feels
like the two of them had their own tensions, you know,
behind the scenes, and now it's front and center at
the reunion. Now, one thing that happened is Porsia felt
the need to defend herself from what she feels are lies,

(15:56):
and she posted receipts about the wedding. So base Shemiah
says that Porscha did not come to her wedding, and
Porscha posted receist showing that she had multiple weddings. She
came to the one that was in Atlanta, she didn't
go to the one in Africa.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
So Smida got married in Africa.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Yes, she had more than one situation, and so she
had more than one. Yeah, so she just didn't go. Yeah,
she didn't go to the one. But Shamiah saying she
only had one wedding, and so then Porsha also posted
what she says, i'mmoralized. She says that she also congratulated
Shemiah for joining real households of Atlanta, because Samiah had
said that with Candy that she only set a simple

(16:36):
congratulations on the phone, but she actually sent her flowers,
so she was showing all of that. All of this
was playing out on the reunion and hear some of that.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
What is the current status of your friendship today?

Speaker 1 (16:46):
There isn't There isn't any communication.

Speaker 11 (16:49):
I could have gotten over whatever happened during the season,
But it was the live recent smear campaign that I
didn't like when you came on the show and your
plan to sabotage me and use the phone lanes to
sabotage let me manage wild. It was a scheme and
a plan, A scheme and a plan, all right, well.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Shemiah then responded on social media and said these receipts
were fakes. She said again, I had one wedding that
took place in Nairobi, Kenya. What you attended was my
dowry ceremony in my mom's backyard. Second, you sent flowers
my birthday week just before we started filming. I'd had
my peach for over a month. I only said we
never celebrated. You can keep your fake receipts with your
fake friendship. It's crazy how I could be considered your

(17:33):
lapdog for writing so hard for you. But at the
same time you say I was trying to sabotage you.
Make it make sense, man? You know I also right,
should we do our show?

Speaker 12 (17:44):
No?

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Because we are going to do our show, and.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Then I come with a dis record.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
You don't want my disrecord. You do not want that,
You do not want those planes. But in addition to
all of this, you know, if you watch the series,
you see that there was a point where they tried
to sit down and have a conversation, and the dynamic
of their friendship did change from Shemiah joining the show
as a peach holder. Some people feel like Portia was
jealous of Shemiah because Shamiyah has the life with the mansion,

(18:12):
the husband and all of that. I see people she's
not married anymore. But I also see people calling for
Shemiah to get fired from the show. I don't think
they should fire her. Hopefully they can figure out a
way to try to come back together and see what
can happen. But that is your yet, when we come back,
we have under the radar. These are the stories that
are not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying under the radar,

(18:33):
but you definitely need to know about it, and we're
here to tell you. Let's not break up our friendship. Mano,
it's way up this in the.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
News that relates to you. These stories are flying under
the radar.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
But Angela, yee, I'm here with me. Yeah, and it's
time to get into some under the radar stories that
Annabel Doll. You know, I've been talking about this that's
faced the contrary and they believe that Annabel Doll is
actually inhabited by a spirit of a dead six year
old named Annabel That's what a psychic medium believes. And

(19:03):
there's been all kinds of things that have happened with
this doll. And we talked about the paranormal investigator, Dan
Rivera fifty four years old. It was found dead, yes,
in his hotel room, just hours after a sold out
Devils on the Run tour which featured the allegedly cursed
Annabelle Doll. Well, they did say the doll was not
in the room when first responders arrived. That doesn't mean anything.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Know what he died.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
They're still trying to figure it out. They have an autopsy,
so we don't know, they did say there was nothing
unusual or suspicious found at the scene, which is also
suspicious in itself, but we'll keep you updated on that.
All right. Now, let's move into this Brianna Taylor. We
got to give you guys an update. A federal judge
has rejected the recommendation from the Justice Department that Brett

(19:49):
Hankinson be given no prison time. That is, the police
officer that used excessive force during the twenty twenty deadly
raid on Brianna Taylor's home. He was the one that
fired ten shots whoa but didn't hit anyone. And he
was the only officer on the scene that was charged
in her death. And he has been sentenced to nearly
three years for his role. Yes, that's all, and so

(20:13):
I just find that to be, you know, incredibly disgusting.
But anyway, here's Breonna Tailla's mother speaking.

Speaker 13 (20:20):
There was no prosecution in there for us. There was
no prosecution in there for Mariana. You know, I'm grateful
for the judge for giving some time because he could
have walked away with not been afforded to what they
recommend y.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Yeah, the fact that they wanted nothing and for him
to have no accountability is wild all right. Now. Lastly,
the Trump administration is imposing limits on flights from Mexico,
and they also want to end a partnership between Delta
and Aero Mexico and response to limits that the Mexican
government has placed on passenger and cargo flights. We've been

(20:56):
talking about this, you know, we talked about the price
of tomatoes is going to be extremely high, these sixty
percent tariffs on Mexican imports and things like that. So
you know, I just feel like it's been Yes, for sure,
it's been up and down, up and down, teriffs. We're
gonna delay them, We're gonna do them. No, we're not.
It's so confusing for a lot of people. And I

(21:18):
was telling you earlier, I see so many different places
and businesses closing and people being nervous to go out
and spend money. It's been a mess. But that is
your under the radar. We do have the way up
mix at the top of the hour, plus we got
to talk about basketball wives later, the fight between Jackie
and her daughter Chanta. I mean, this was awful to witness.

(21:39):
It was really traumatic for a lot of people, you know,
And I was talking to somebody today who also had
a toxic relationship with their mom, and they said it
definitely triggered them watching it. So I want to get
Europeans with discuss that later. It's way up. She's like
a tout like they and Jelie Jane, like they and
Julie Jane.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Man, she's spilling it all. This is yeaky, Well.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
What's up? His way up at Angela? Ye, I'm here
with my guy Maina. Now, I know you weren't watching
Love Island, but we're gonna do something for you like that.
But it's just you. But Shelley and Orlandria were on
Kicky Palmer's podcast Baby This is Keky and shout out
to her. She had a listening party the other day
Kiki Palmer. But they were talking about different things on

(22:23):
Love Island.

Speaker 13 (22:24):
Now.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
One thing people have said a lot is, dang, how
these people just kissing all these people one after the
other because there were a lot of kissing challenges. Well,
here's what Shelley had to say about all of these
kissing scenes. How did they get you guys prepared for
all the germs? Y'all just go for it. I guess
I'll just trust each other we get a mountain. Even
coming on the show, we was tested a lot and
everybody was on the same page. You okay, we're kissing, okay, cool. Yeah,

(22:47):
There's no way you could be on that show if
you're not okay with kissing, because it is like, oh
my gosh, like so much. There's times that you're a
blindfold that the new people come on the show and
they just like make out with everybody, like and.

Speaker 7 (22:59):
Then you got to freund, I'm not kissing nobody blindfolded.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
Mm hmm. I'm not going to be blonde.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
You want to be on the show. I had this
plan for your show.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Me being blindfolded and kissing you, right, But I don't.
They're not open up.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
It's like, oh well I just got I will say this.
I think on Love Island across the board, you in
general know that people are pretty attractive. You're not going
to open your eyes and be like really discussed to
see your list first, which is you know, unrealistic in real.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Life, right, So I need to see the list. I
need to see what they look like before we get
into that. Now.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Another thing that happened on the show was Olandria was
with Taylor from the beginning they were bowed up, and
then when they went to Casamore, he chose the woman
from there and it felt like they had a stronger connection. Right,
her name is Clark. It felt like they had a
stronger connection. But people were really upset that Clark came
in there and kind of, as they would say, stole

(23:50):
alandri as man. Here is what a Landerie had to
say about shadiness from Clark to.

Speaker 10 (23:55):
Get out here and to see that she was moving
like that with me, like we know what I'm saying,
walk by her she making a faith or she is
mocking me. I'm like, bro, what I was never own
that with you that that's just weird to me.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Yeah, it seemed like she it got competitive because she
saw you.

Speaker 10 (24:09):
Still my presence really makes hello the hair.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Hand is naturally be oh okay. But yeah, so people
did feel like, if anything, be mad at Taylor for that,
you can't be mad at the woman. That's the whole
point of the show is things like that end up happening.
They have to make a decision. Sometimes it's not an
easy decision, but I think it's also harder when you
come in in the middle of the show and people
are used to the couples already, you're automatically going to

(24:36):
be the villain. So some people feel like Clark didn't
get a fair shot. Elanda is still popping and still lit.
So there's that, all right. So that's from Left Island.
Now let's talk about Tyler Perry. He was recently on
denn of King's Have you seen Kirk Franklin's You need
to be on that? Denna King's. Kirk Franklin has his
podcast where he puts different people together. This particular episode,

(24:59):
he had Gez. He had Derek Haynes, who is you know,
Picky Cole's husband who owns Dave's Teestakes, and they had
a really great conversation alongside Tyler Perry about just hiring
family members. Here's what Tyler Perry had to say about
once having to fire his aunt and people asking him
for money.

Speaker 14 (25:19):
That fire mom, she said she wanted a job. You
would always call ask her for money, ask for money,
and like, okay, I was sitting the money. I said, listen,
I want to help you. I don't want to help
you build this thing, not the welfare to you, so
let me give you a job. She wasn't coming in
calling in all the time like okay, well you got
to go because you want me to hand you the money,
but you don't want to work for it. See that
doesn't work for me. And it's the same way with
my son, like he's ten years old, Like there's certain

(25:41):
things that he wants, he has to do chores and
work for it. I don't believe in giving us things
that are just going to handicap us.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
I mean, yeah, I agree with that. Some people will
tell you not to hire friends and family members for
that purpose they can take advantage. All right, well that
is your yea te when we come back, well basketball
wise explosive. I see everyone talking about it, Jackie versus Chantell,
mother versus daughter. We'll talk about it when we come back.
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
Oh, it's turn me up.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Here we go up.

Speaker 5 (26:10):
This is way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
All right, it's way up with Angela yee. I'm here
at the guy mato. Yeah, I just need a moment.
I was showing you air clean.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Yes, I've never seen that.

Speaker 7 (26:20):
I'll usually see the videos where they're going in with
the most small camera.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
But you guys, take a look at that. If you
have a chance air cleaning in India on the street.
All right, now, let's talk about basketball wives. Last night's
episode was explosive. Jackie Christie and her daughter Chantell got
into a physical altercation and a lot of people are
weighing in. Now. If you recall, Chantelle's sister Tacari had
actually written a book, and her book was called Light

(26:45):
to Her Shadow, was a memoir where she talked about
growing up with her grandmother as like her primary caregiver.
She talked about battling depression and cutting motherhood and her
relationship with Jackie Christie, and you know, she's a battle
to pression of other health issues. She also says that
she has a speech impediment because she has seventy percent
deaf in her left ear and thirty percent deaf in

(27:07):
her right ear, and so she's been through a lot.
I mean, I think it's just you know, what happened
unfortunately for her, and that's what caused her to have
a speech impediment, not being able to hear herself clearly.
And so anyway, she also says alleges that Jackie Christie
tried to coach both her and her sister Chantelle on

(27:28):
how to behave on camera. So she A lot of
people are questioning why have they even been on the
show being they have such a traumatic relationship, you know,
with their mom. Well, just as a flashback previously, you know,
Takari has spoken about growing up and being afraid of
her mom. Here's what she had to say previously on

(27:50):
oh Ah Chantell. Okay, you didn't get the clip, all right,
but yees. So here's Chantell previously speaking on growing up
afraid of Jackie.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Jackie has painted this picture perfect image of what life is.
But what people don't realize is that under the mask
is the mother that I grew up knowing and at
times being very afraid of. I think that collectively, myself
and my siblings have always felt a need to be

(28:18):
perfect out of fear of what will happen if we're
not all right.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
So that's basically just laying down the groundworker for the contentious,
really fragile relationship that we have and that they have.
And it feels like chance I really wanted to try
to repair things for her mom, but she also has
a lot of anger towards her and maybe TV is
not always the best place for something like that to
play out. Now, Takari has also now spoken out about

(28:47):
the trauma that she has tried to heal from being
recycled and played out on television. And here's what she
had to say previously.

Speaker 15 (28:56):
So are they using the favorite daughter to recreate a
storyline using your trauma, controlling the narrative because having you
come on there would be too real? Or are they
trying to capture them same amount of viewers that they
would get in when the show would about you?

Speaker 3 (29:12):
What?

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Who said that? So that's Takari speaking about her mother
and Jackie, And then everything kind of came to a
head yesterday when they actually got into a physical fight
Jackie and her daughter Chantel on the show. And here's
how it happened.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
I wanted to give you an opportunity to clean your
name up. You want to clear my Chantel?

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Listen, do you hear yourself?

Speaker 8 (29:34):
Stop?

Speaker 5 (29:35):
I have zero respect.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Want you to get up and leave zero respect, Get
up and leave my room.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Zero respect?

Speaker 2 (29:40):
By better?

Speaker 14 (29:43):
Do you look better?

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Do you think you're sitting here looking?

Speaker 2 (29:47):
You know?

Speaker 5 (29:48):
If you don't get if you look as a mother?

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Now tell me.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Now. A lot of people were weighing in and we
want to see what you think pick aside, Jackie versus Chantel,
who was an the wrong yesterday? You know, Jackie swung
on her daughter, but Chantal was talking to her crazy.
I would never talk to my mom like that, But
I also don't have a mom that I've been through
that type of trauma with. Some people are saying, you
should never, no matter what, talk to your mother like that,
and TV is not the best place for this to

(30:16):
play out. But other people are saying, you know what,
Jackie's the mother and she is the person that's supposed
to set the standard. Pick aside, tell us what you
think Jackie versus Chantelle. Eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty. That's eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty.
It's way up.

Speaker 4 (30:31):
It's not just right or wrong. It's about what you believe.
It's time to pick a side and stay there all right.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
It's way up with Angela yee, and I'm here with
my guy Mana. We're picking a side today. Coming out
of Basketball Wives episode last night, Jackie and her daughter
Chantal have not been getting along and things actually got physical.
I see a lot of people weighing in. It's a
trending topic. What did you think, mana, I think they're
both wrong.

Speaker 7 (30:56):
Okay, explain because I mean, from the mother's perspective, you
got to have a level of respect for your mother.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
You only get one mother in his lifetime.

Speaker 7 (31:04):
But then from the daughter's perspective, I understand that it's
been an ongoing disrespect, ongoing dysfunctional relationship. But I just
think that the TV makes it not easy to settle.
It's going to be too hard to do that because
people performing for the camera.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
You know, I'm grateful that my mom and I have
always had a great relationship. Even when I was a
bad kid and did things I wasn't supposed to, I
would know that was.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Your bad, Like you're bad was probably like what likes.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
Still in the current crashing it when I was fifteen,
knaking out of the house all the time, having parties
instead of going to school.

Speaker 7 (31:36):
You really was bad? That that like you really? Yeah,
I don't know, really bad, You're bad?

Speaker 1 (31:40):
How great I turned out well? But anyway, you know,
I'm grateful for that. But just from watching their very
contentious relationship, I also at a certain point feel like
Jackie as a mother has to be the one that
is going to be like I love my child because
clearly like something about how they were raised.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
It is deep, this is thirty years deep.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Has her just really unable to function in a relationship
as you know, as a daughter, and so I think
that she has to because that's her child, take the
high road and figure out what do I need to
do to repair this relationship with my child, because sometimes
parents don't like to admit when they're wrong. But we
want to see what you guys think. Eight hundred two
nineteen fifty one fifty Hey Regina, Hey, how you doing good?

(32:23):
How are you all right?

Speaker 12 (32:26):
I listen to your story every day.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
I love you for that. Thank you. Now I want
to know, Regina, what do you think Jackie versus Chantal
pick aside.

Speaker 12 (32:35):
I'm picked Jacket's side.

Speaker 13 (32:36):
You do not disrespect your mom for one, and for
number two, you don't go nowhere, whether.

Speaker 10 (32:42):
It be on TV or anywhere and talk a mom
to any one, or do you let in a one
to your mom being a mom.

Speaker 11 (32:50):
Don't come with a book, right, I'm pretty sure Jackie,
I had to deal her.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Bed all right. Thank you for wading in, Regina. We
appreciate it. You're welcome by you know, it's interesting to
hear different perspectives because somebody that was talking to me
has a toxic mom and so her perspective was completely
different because of her experience. But she also said she
would never put her hands on her mom, and I, yeah,
that's wild to me. But again, being in that situation,

(33:16):
I don't know what it's like. Hey, way, what's up?

Speaker 16 (33:18):
What's going on now?

Speaker 1 (33:20):
And me and may don't want to know? What do
you think about this whole Chantelle versus Jackie from Basketball Wise?
Mother versus daughter.

Speaker 16 (33:27):
I'm on the water side because people feeling and titled
because of label. They don't matter. Your speak louder than
anything like it's betrayal or forgivable. You think I supposed
to just let you keep doing some me and just
keep yourself in it, because do my mother? And no,
it don't work like that. Respect is learned. It's no
label that people can have that you to keep doing

(33:51):
stuff with somebody with no repercussion, no d.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Okay, what's your relationship with your mom?

Speaker 2 (33:58):
H it's let me ask you a question though.

Speaker 7 (34:00):
If you ever got into an argument with your mother
and put your hands on your mother, okay, good.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
He's also a man too, Yeah, you can't feel like
just because we blood related, that don't mean that you
could do to be cool with you.

Speaker 7 (34:14):
I respect all that I know understanding, but just don't
put your hands on your mom.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Yeah he said he would. Yeah, we appreciate you for
winging in and thank you. Hey, Nikki, Hey, so tell
me what's your thoughts with team Jackie or team Chantal.

Speaker 12 (34:34):
Okay, so I'm not teeing anybody, but I d see
wrong on both Endstil came off wrong, like the way
she was presenting herself to Jackie and presenting her case.

Speaker 15 (34:44):
It was wrong.

Speaker 12 (34:45):
And Jackie her emotions were high, so I think that's
what made her fire off on Chantel. So they both
were wrong, but Chantelle kind of ignited it a little.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
You know what I think too. On this series right now,
Jackie is not receptive to anybody having anything to say
to her about yeah, about her as a mother, though
in particular she has not happened. She's very closed off
to that conversation at all. And I feel like these
women all kind of weigh in on each other's situations

(35:16):
and it's just something way deeper than that that on TV.
They're not going to be able to resolve and it's
something they need to figure out in real life.

Speaker 8 (35:23):
Worse.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Yeah, it's making it worse because if you say anything,
she's going to shut you down. She's not going to
talk about it. She gets so angry. And I don't
see how you can possibly like.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
The cameras, you're not going to be able to.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
You know, deal with that. All right, all right, thank
you for weighing in. They both do like they need
to get that together as a unit. All right. Well,
thank you guys for calling in and weighing in on that.
And when we come back, this is your show. Anything
you couldn't get through on today, you will have the
last word. It's way up. Take up the phone.

Speaker 5 (35:55):
To get your voice heard. What the words? She is
the last word on Way Up with Angela.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
Yee oo, dada, it's way up at Angela. Ye, I'm here,
Maino's here, No maya man. What a great day today.
We are now on in the Virgin Islands on one
O one ptree Rot FM.

Speaker 2 (36:11):

to Saint Croix, all of the things. But we're excited.
So shout out to everybody who is listening from the Islands,
and of course thank you to everybody who called in today.
We talked about basketball wives. What else did we talk about?

Speaker 2 (36:35):
We talked about my marriage.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
Oh gosh, yes, anybody who wants to marry Maino.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
I got four days.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
This is your show. Here's your last word.

Speaker 6 (36:45):
I am calling about the Jackie, Chirsty and her all
the shantail situation. I am a mother to two children,
and I am Teane Chantel the parents. It's always supposed
to take the high road. Clearly Jackie is not taking
the high road. He earned the spec and just get
respect because you're a parent. If you're a dysfunctional, non existence,

(37:05):
non loving, not nurturing parents, you don't get that same
respect just because you're someone's parents. She just gave birth
to her, She's not act.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
Mich a mother.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Hey, this is Kira.

Speaker 16 (37:16):
I'm calling from Saint Croix and the Virgin Islands.

Speaker 12 (37:19):
I want to shout out.

Speaker 15 (37:19):
Halima, Roebuck and Roll FM doing some wonderful things beautiful show.

Speaker 12 (37:24):
To listen to, a wonderful way to start your day.

Speaker 6 (37:26):
Good energy, happy to be just here to b I okay,

Speaker 10 (37:31):
