to shine a light on.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Sister Nancy.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
You know her song bomb Bomb that's probably like one
of the most sampled reggae songs ever, But this is
the first time that she's ever made it onto the
Billboard Reggae Album's Chart, and that's because of her album
that came out in nineteen eighty two. It was called
one two and it entered the chart at number three.
It was re released on vinyl on Record Store Day

(01:59):
that was on April fourth teenth.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
So shout out to her sister Nancy, who.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Up until recently wasn't even getting the money that she
was supposed to get off of this song, and all
the people who sampled it and all the commercials who
used it. So I love to see people getting there.
Just do while they're here to appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
And now, hoo, do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty what's up, Kyleika?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Who do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 5 (02:22):
I want to tin a light on you, Angela. I
love you so much.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Oh my gosh, thank you, Carlka. That means a lot
to me.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
I'm an up and coming producer and I just love that.
How much you do for the entertainment industry. Like I
really want to work in comedy as well.

Speaker 6 (02:37):
So I just love that.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Oh you want to work in comedy now, yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
Have comedy and horror kind of like dark comedy. But
I'm working on a project right now.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Can I shout it out please?

Speaker 5 (02:49):
It's called at the Candy Hotel on Instagram. It's about
this black woman who decides to do restrooms, but it's
haunted by demons.

Speaker 6 (02:58):
It's a lovely story. It's very beautiful.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Oh I like this already. Thank you so much, all right,
congratulations and thank you so much.

Speaker 7 (03:06):
Thanks you all right?

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Well that was shine a Light eight hundred to ninety
two fifty one fifty if you couldn't get through, you
could leave a message and shine of light for last word.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
And when we come back, man, we got to get
into this yet.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
And there's a whole lot of Shannon Sharp we got
to discuss. I'll tell you what Michael Irving has to
say about this ten million dollar settlement that he apparently
offered the woman who is accusing him of sexual assault.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
But now there's other people who are.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Recalling things that happened that Shannon Sharp has done in
his past.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Will tell you about it. See what you think is
way up?

Speaker 4 (03:39):
They says in the rooms, from industry Shade to all
of gossip. Angela's spelling that yet what's up?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
This way up at Angela?

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yee again, Happy Friday, and let's get into some yet.
Now my producer Dan is back from his honeymoon, so
you can chime in.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
All the Shannon Sharp stuff is going crazy.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
There are reports that he had one hundred consensual BDSM
encounters with the woman and i'ma still keep calling her
a Jane Do because she has never identified herself, even
though Shannon Sharp's team put out her name, and now
I'm sure her only fans is blowing up. But they're
saying that relationship, according to Shannon Sharp, sources and TMZ,

(04:22):
was consensual and there was rough.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Sex, choking, role playing.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
They said the only fans model woman the accuser, who
often initiated and requested these acts. They were also text
where she detailed her desires like asking to be tied up.
So according to the sources, it was only a BDSM relationship.
It was never anything romantic. I'm gonna say media takeout.
They said that they heard from sources about the tape

(04:46):
with Shannon Sharp that you know, Shannon Sharp has even
acknowledged is out there. He said he hasn't seen it himself,
but his team has seen it. They said it was
pretty graphic and violent, so I don't know, I haven't
seen it clearly. Now another news of Shannon Sharp, his
ex girlfriend is now speaking out and she to be clear.
Back in twenty ten, had filed a defamation lawsuit against him.

(05:10):
Her name is Michelle Bundy Evans. They had an ongoing
legal dispute after news broke that she filed that restraining
order accusing him of sexual assault and stalking for an
incident that she claims happened in twenty ten.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Now what she says happened is that he raped her.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
She said she was arguing with him when he forced
her to her knees and sexually assaulted her before raping her.
She said she sought legal protection after he also said
he would ruin her if she ever publicly disclose the
disturbing incident.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
The restraining order was.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Dropped shortly after it was filed, and she said she
was harassed at home with her daughter over her decision
to go after him.

Speaker 8 (05:47):
Well.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Shanna Shop's attorney told The Post last night that Michelle
evans claims are ridiculous and completely without merit. She could
not find a lawyer to take her case, and if
you read her complaint, you'll see it is filled with nonsense.
So they were actually together for nearly ten years, though
I do want to also put that out there. And
then there's even one more thing that's coming out. He

(06:09):
was reportedly accused of misconduct with a coworker years before
he was named in this sexual assault lawsuit. He allegedly
choked a female production assistant when he hosted Undisputed, and
this is according to Front Office Sports. The outlet said
they spoke with two sources who had knowledge of the incident,
and he did reach an undisclosed settlement with the unnamed accuser.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
A lawsuit was.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Not filed at the time, and he also denied the
allegations and the statement. Now, the statement says there was
no incident of choking involving Shannon on the FS one sets.
On one occasion, he and a few colleagues were involved
in some light physical interaction in a playful context. Fox
Sports later chose to resolve the matter privately. A lot
of things coming out.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Now going on.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Yeah, Now, I'm gonna tell you Michael Irving and to
put it in context, Michael Irving has spoken out in
I think explaining why because a lot of people are
talking about this ten million dollars settlement that Shannons Shop
offered to Jane Doe.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
And here's what Michael Irving had to say.

Speaker 8 (07:04):
People, So, I would you offer two of us must have.
Let's tell you must do something. It doesn't mean you're guilty.
And that's Albert muss value. What a lot of people
have to do is have to determine if it's something
that can destroy you.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Now, Michael Irvin, if you recall he had that whole
incident at the hotel in Phoenix where he was accused
of improper behavior towards a hotel employee and he got
us suspended. Remember that during that time, Yes, I do.
And then he actually ended up finding a lawsuitent getting reinstated.
So this is why I think he feels passionate about
why he's explaining what's going on with Shannon Sharp. All right,

(07:43):
well that is your yet, and when we come back,
we have about last night. I told you guys, I
just got back from Miami early this morning after a
ton of delays. But I'll tell you what an amazing
experience that I had yesterday.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
It's way up so about last night, Yes, he is.
I went down.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
What's up this way up at Angela y and again,
Happy Friday, and it's time for about last night. Now,
I would be remiss not to mention that Navy, who
is our associate producer, was out for the week.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
And you're back today, right, Navy.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Yeah, I'm back fresh off of Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Well two days removed, but you had conjunctivitis widely known
as pink guy. Yep, serious enforcing events.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Now, I know people have different reasons why you get
pink guy?

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Oh God, here we go.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Do you know why you got it.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I assume it was just a plane from what I'm told.
I was sick before I left, and then my new
system is just so weak that it just followed me.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
I was in Atlanta, Atlanta, because you know what they say,
and if you don't know, google it. But I was
in Miami yesterday and I was at the Accelerate Her
event and it was amazing, when I tell you, as
soon as I walked into the hotel it was at
the Rich Carlton in Biscayne Bay. As soon as I
got there, it was like a family reunion. I saw Kadeen,

(09:05):
you know her from the Dead Ass podcast. I think
they renamed it though, but shout out to Kadeen. Kadeen
Davao saw her there. When I tell you, I saw
a fun weaver, the owner of Uncle Nearest. I saw
my girl, Nikki Sparrow from iHeart and grim Best from
I Best Wines.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
I saw a joy who started Culture Creators.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
I saw so many people that you know, a lot
of them I haven't seen in a while, and to
see them in one place all together for this conference.
They had a Mocha marketplace and that was all different
black owned businesses selling their products in this marketplace. I
mean amazing things. And I want to say I did
get honored at the brunch, and what was really dope
about that was they had the best gift bags. And

(09:46):
you know how we took about gift bags at events
like Grammys and at this this is probably the best
gift bag I've ever gotten. So, you know, shout out
to Kim Blackwell for putting together this. Accelerate her. This
is the third year and I'll definitely be back next year.
Let's say that, Well, that was about last night, and
when we come back, we have tell us a Secret.
That's where you call us up. You get to remain
anonymous and tell us your deepest, darkest or maybe funniest secret.

(10:10):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Call us up. It's a no judgment zone.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
That's eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Don't be scared, call us up. Tell us a secret.
It's way up, yo, way up.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
What's up as way up at angela yee And the
number is eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty
it's time for you guys to tell us a secret.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
What's up? Anonymous caller? Tell us your secret?

Speaker 9 (10:38):
Yeah, man, just a couple of days ago, you o
my man's girl hitting me up saying that.

Speaker 8 (10:44):
You wanted to have three hus Ooh yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Did it though, Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
All right, all right, you did it, okay, eye?

Speaker 8 (10:53):
It was amazing. Coo.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Who was the other person involved?

Speaker 1 (10:58):
At fifteen?

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Her six?

Speaker 9 (11:00):
Sir?

Speaker 2 (11:01):
That is very taboo.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
So you had sex with your man's girl and the
girl's sister cool to do? That is so weird to
me when sisters, I mean not to judge.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Did they do stuff with each other too?

Speaker 9 (11:15):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Yeah? They caught me a little bird myself, so I
still did.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
That's so weird. And what may her call you? Of
all people, she was looking at me.

Speaker 8 (11:25):
She's been one of me and her.

Speaker 10 (11:27):
Me and her though, well my dad.

Speaker 6 (11:29):
Really were some good parents right now, so I had
to get my big one.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
And she clearly don't like her man that much to
do that.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
I don't think you really do. I mean, if you
still wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Know, he must be paying for stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
All right, Well, thank you for calling and sharing with
us and her and her sister, what's up?

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Anatamus called it, how are you?

Speaker 9 (11:51):
Hey, I'm doing good.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
I'm glad to hear it. You want to tell us
a secret?

Speaker 6 (11:55):
Yes I do.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Okay, I'm listening.

Speaker 9 (11:57):
So when you were in our twenties, me and my
sister are six suppers. So my sister was looking at
our blood tight and she figured out that our father's
not our father.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
What from the bloode We.

Speaker 9 (12:14):
Got our mom in the room and we said tell
us the truth, wow, and she smiled. She said, no,
that's not your father.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (12:23):
When my mom passed away, she never told anybody, and
we never told anybody, and my father never knew.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Is he still alive?

Speaker 8 (12:33):
No?

Speaker 9 (12:33):
And my logical father passed like when he was in
his third and we found out that we have sisters
and brothers and.

Speaker 6 (12:41):
All that stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Did you try to contact them?

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Well?

Speaker 9 (12:44):
I told my sister we should, but she's just iffy.
But other than that, nobody and our family knows. So
when my father and mother passed and our other siblings
start acting crazy, me and my sister be looking like,
ain't anyway right?

Speaker 2 (13:01):
We're not really all the way related right if we
look now, that's wild? I know you lightweight do want
to meet your other family though?

Speaker 9 (13:12):
Yes, I know.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Ain't them crazy? Them secrets families have?

Speaker 9 (13:16):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Well, thank you for calling and sharing with us. All right,
y're all right?

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Take care.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
That was tell us a secret eight hundred two ninety
two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get thrilled, you
could leave a message and we'll play your secret during
last word and when we come back, we have your
yee t. And do you ever have an awkward moment
when somebody asked you a question you don't want to answer. Well,
that happened to French Montana. We'll talk about it. It's way up.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Sure, she's about to blow the lead ab off this spot.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Let's get it.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Oh yeah, Angela's feeling that yee te Come and get
the tea.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
What's up this way up at Angela?

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Yee And it's time for your yet and let's get
into it. So Tracy T is annoyed at people going
on his life and having things to say about cash Doll. Listen,
they are trolling him and they love his reaction.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Here's what he had to say.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
You regged need to be a drink so I won't
be trying to sit in that I'll be trying to
ignore you. Regged a need to be a driss. You
need something to do, y'all dumbok, something still on my page,
head getting blocked.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
You know, I understand his frustration though, because maybe you
want to go live, you want to talk about music,
you want to talk about other things, and they just
trolling you. I mean it's cash doll. People look at
it like you dropped the ball and she said that
you cheated on her. So you know, little trolling is
going to continue to happen. But in the meantime they
got two beautiful children, all right. And speaking of trolling,

(14:35):
French Montana was in the airport, you know, the met
Gala is coming up. He was approached by a TikToker
and it started off friendly, but then he got a
little frustrated and walked away.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Listen to this.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Now, I got to ask, man, you know, this year's
been crazy. Have you talked to Diddy at all? I
hear you, Hey, French, take care of though.

Speaker 8 (14:53):
Man.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
French been out of the country living his best damn life,
and so I'm sure he had to know as soon
as he came back the Diddy questions are incoming. So
as soon as he steps out and goes anywhere. That's
going to be what people have to talk about, all
right in the Fire Festival if you had an issue,
because you know it's officially canceled. Gary Richards, he's the
promoter behind Electric Daisy Carnival and Hard He is telling

(15:17):
people that if you have the wildest Firefest story past
or present, you can get a free cabin for his
upcoming Friendship twenty twenty six crews, and so he's giving
away ten cabins for that. He said that watching the
Fire Festival docs got him fired up, and as a
festival producer, all your friends have is your word and
your track record, so he wants to show you how

(15:38):
it's really done.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
So that could be a positive thing.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
I do want to say, anybody who signed up for
Fire Festival two, you kind of like had to know
what you were getting yourself into. They were selling some
of those tickets for one point one million dollars for
a full experience, so I don't know what happens to
those people's money, but it's officially canceled. And we had
some breaking news. According to TMZ, Adrian Peterson was arrested

(16:06):
for d WI That was last night in Minnesota. He
was booked into the county jail. He even has a
mudge out, of course, that is out right now. They
said he was pulled over at three twenty am and
he was going eighty three and a fifty five mile
per hour zone. They said he was drunk. That's what
they suspected, and he did do a bread sample. He
blew up point one four. The legal limit is point

(16:28):
zero eight m Minnesota. So that is breaking news. All right,
Well that is your et and when we come back,
we have under the radar. These are the stories that
are not in the headlines. They're under the radar, but
you definitely need to know about them. It's way up.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
What's up? His way up?

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Put angela ye, and it's time for under the radar.
These are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They're flying under the raidar, but you definitely need to
know about them. I'm sure y'all saw this though. Trump
twenty twenty eight apparel is on sale, and that is
at the Trump Organization's online store. They are talking about
him running for a third term, even though in the

(17:07):
Constitution you are not allowed to do that. They've been
selling these red hats with that slogan on there. They
are fifty dollars if you're interested, and it says the.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Future looks bright.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Rewrite the rules with the Trump twenty twenty eight high
crown hats. They also have t shirts that are thirty
six dollars that have the phrase rewrite the rules.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
I mean, Trump's been doing whatever he wants.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
I can see him doing an executive order saying that
he can run again, as he's been doing thousands of
executive orders.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Now, another story that is flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
According to the FBI director Cash Pattel, he is saying,
and he posted on social media that they arrested Judge
Hannah Duggan and she's being charged with obstruction. He then
deleted this post, but he accused her of helping an
undocumented immigrant avoid arrest. So far, CNN has reached out
to the Justice Department and to the FBI for comment,

(17:58):
but they have not gotten any response quite yet. And
that is your under the radar. We do have the
way up mixed for you guys at the top of
the hour plus what a treat we do have Corey
Hardrick joining us. His movie that he's starring in and
also produced, Die Like a Man, is on Apple TV today.
We're gonna talk about it plus other life things that
he has going on. It's way up, just like the

(18:20):
talk like they Angela Jean, like they Angela Jean.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
And she's spilling it all. This is YEATI.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Well, well, what's up this way up at Angela Hee?

Speaker 3 (18:30):
I'm here and it's time for your yeat. And you know,
first we want to give an update here some breaking news.
Elijah Arenas. He is out of his koma so that
is a huge story. He's a high school basketball star.
But we also know that's gil but Arenas and Laura
Govan's son. He was in a terrible car crash. A

(18:53):
cyber truck is what the car was, and they said
he is making strides in his recovery.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
He was actually in a coma.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
He has remained intubated, but at one point he was
able to open his eyes and write on a piece
of paper. He asked if anybody was hurt as a
result of the accident. I reaped for the family is
saying these positive news is remarkable and hopeful. He's only
eighteen years old, and his parents are by his side
in the hospital, as well as other siblings and family members.

(19:19):
The family also shared a statement they're the good Samaritans
who helped get him out of the vehicle. They said,
I remember hearing banging on the car window, but I
couldn't see anything because the smoke was so thick. That's
when I realized someone was inside. I tried to break
the window, but it wouldn't give. Then I saw one
of the windows was cracked just enough, and we used
everything we had to bend it and pull him out.
The car was on fire. We just knew we had

(19:40):
to get him out. I saw there was a video
online too. I do feel like it's a little tacky
to post that video.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
What do you think, Dan?

Speaker 3 (19:46):
I agree, you know how hard that is and what
if he wouldn't have been coming along as well as
he has been.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
That's devastating to be able to look at.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
But the family is asking for more support, and they
also shared their appreciation for the medical staffers and everybody
who has been sharing love and encouragement. All right, now,
let's talk about your guy, Shador Sanders. He is favored
to be the first pick of the second round. Here's
what he had to say. When he did not get drafted,
everybody thought he would at least be a first round

(20:15):
draft pick.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 8 (20:16):
We all didn't expect this, of course, but I feel like,
with God, anything possible. I don't feel like this happened
for no reason. All this is is of course, Field
to the farm.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
All right now, Dan, I know you were excited about
him possibly coming.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
To your team.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (20:30):
I'm a Stealer fan, and he was really supposed to
get drafted by the Steelers at the twenty first pick,
and they passed on him. They took a defensive tackle instead,
and I'm not happy about it. I think the Browns
are likely going to take him at the top of
the second round. The Stealers in the Browns arrivals. I
think the Stealers passing on Shador is going to haunt
us for the next decade.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
There you have it.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
We're going to see what happens now, all right, And
Ari Lennox is no longer with dream Vale. She posted
that it's also not a bad ending and so I
know previously she had complain about just not getting the promotion.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Here's what she said.

Speaker 12 (21:02):
Previously, y'all wish I had a label that wouldn't have
me out here trying to explain why I need advertisement.
You cannot expect an artists to be anything without advertisement.
So I just want to be released, and I'm tired
of being nice. This was my final straw.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
She is going to proceed on any scope, so she's
no longer on Dreamville. But they're saying it was amicable,
and listen, I'm sure Ja Cole seems like the nicest
person and I've only heard people say positive things about
working with him. So and then, lastly, more breaking news,

(21:41):
congratulations are in order, and that is for Flo Milly.
She welcomed her little baby boy and she posted on
social media and you'all bet not play about your internet nephew.
So we don't see his full face, but I could
tell it's a cute baby. Anflomily also has new music,
and when we come back, it is a new music Friday,

(22:01):
so we'll give you some snippets so you know what's
out today and we'll tell you what to look for.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
It's way up this relationship for career advice, Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
This is ask kee, what's up this way up at
Angela Yee on a Friday and it's time for ask
Yee eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. You
can also leave a message, or if you're on the
iHeart app, you can click that microphone and you can
ask me a question that way and I'll answer it.
And today Tamika left the voicemail.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Here's her question.

Speaker 10 (22:29):
That's aka, if I want my baby daddy and we're
together and we're in a relationship, is that cool for
his other baby Mabel to act to help her out
with her advice?

Speaker 8 (22:40):
Build?

Speaker 3 (22:42):
All right, Well, Tamika, I want to say this. I
understand that it's annoying to you. That's your man, your man,
your man, and it's annoying when someone else is asking
him for money, especially somebody who he had intimate relationships
and a child with. But you know, his child lives there,
and so if there's bills to be paid, then she
does need some help. She definitely can ask him. But

(23:02):
what I think needs to happen is I don't know
if he's paying child support, but he needs to establish
maybe a set amount of money that he gives her,
and if that has to be through the court or
through a conversation that the two of them have with
each other, and then she can pay whatever she needs
to pay out of that.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
That way, whatever else.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Is not taking care of her that she has to handle,
she can figure that out.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
But at least he's letting you know what's going on too.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
By the way, but I think the best way to
do it is there's a set amount.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
You know what the bills.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
Are, because the truth is, if she's the primary caregiver
for the child or children or whatever they have, he
should not hesitate when it comes to making sure that
his kids are taken care of in the home that
they're in for part of their time. And so it's
fair for you to say, look, I think you guys
need a system because that way is something that's expected

(23:51):
and she doesn't have to call and keep asking for things.
And she may be doing that to irritate you, but
he needs to be the person to step up and
hears handle that. And you need to be supportive of
that because I know those situations aren't easy. Sometimes women
can be vindictive and do certain things to kind of
try to irritate you. You have to be the person
to see past all of that and say here's the

(24:13):
best way to handle that. We have children who are
you know, half brothers, half sisters, or whatever the case
may be, the best thing that you can do is
be fair about things and take your emotions out of
it and say, Okay, here's the best way to handle
this moving forward.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
And that is your answer for ask ye.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Thank you Tamika for calling us eight hundred and two
nine two fifty one fifty. If you need to leave
a message, I'll answer your question that way. And when
we come back, Oh, here's somebody who's co parenting. Corey
Hardrick is going to be joining us. He has a
new movie that's out today on Apple TV. It's called
Died Like a Man. He also produced it, and we'll
be sitting down with him.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
It's way up. Look, yeah, hey, you want to know
my name?

Speaker 8 (24:53):
Way up with turn me on.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (24:56):
It's way up with Angela yee And back to the
scene of the crime. We got sorry Hadrick here, Yes,
and congratulations. I had a screening of Die Like a Man,
so I had a chance to see you playing a
gangster again again. But you're also executive producing this.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
It's like coming of age story, rights of passage movie.
Said in La. It definitely has that, you know that
Los Angeles old school field, you know, hot boys in
the Hood had that, like the LA movies and those
cultural movies with like the black and brown. So but
it's it's definitely indy. So it's like a slower like
a slower burn. But it's a Rights of Pastorge film.
I play solo, a gangster who got out of jail

(25:34):
who mentors the young guy.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Is that what we call it? Yes, mentorship.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
It's it's just guided guided I know we call it that.
Ain't what it was, it's guided mentorship. And he looks
up to me, you know, so he wants to like
win my approval over, and it's just like becoming like
a boy to a man. I'm just doing things to
win me over. But you see that always leads to
like a it's like a bad path to go on.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Right now I'm talking to Corey Hardjak. His movie Die
Like a Man is on Apple TV today. All right,
so let me ask you this. Yeah, all right, boys
in the Hood are menace because that's always the age
old debate out of those twos.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Oh that's tough, but I'm gonna have to go with Minace.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
Okay, why it was just so raw, you know.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
What I'm saying. It was just so so so raw.
And then you know Lorenz and I remember a tyrant
turned like when they played in that movie. It was
just kind of like it took me to like La
even though I didn't know La, and I was just like, wow,
La is like that, you know what I'm saying, Like
the gang, the gang culture and just how they talk
and everything. So that movie stuck with me for sure.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
I remember, oh dog.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
I remember interviewing Lauren London way back and we asked
her like, what's your ideal man?

Speaker 2 (26:44):
And she was like, oh dog, I was like what, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Women like that danger element for some reason.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
Well, you've been playing the hell out of those roles.
Let me tell you something. One thing in this movie too.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
I need a romantic comedy.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Can't somebody give him a romance. I'm tired of you.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
I need to play a past or something in the movies.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
These movies.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
That's just the movies, now, Okay.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
I know no I'm saying in these movies. In these movies,
so what is it like for you playing it? Because
it feels like you've been doing this bad guy roll
quite a bit.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
Why why are you getting typecast? I don't know.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
It's just like they love it, So I'll give to
people what they want to see. But you know, definitely
I'm looking at like lighter films in the future. But
if they want this, I'm gonna give it to them,
you know what I'm saying because I have fun. I
enjoy playing these characters as well, because they're honest characters,
even though they're like, yeah, I hate it.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
I mean even a title die like a Man? What
does that even mean? When you think about a title
like that, because that is the first thing that draws
you in, Like what.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Does it mean?

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Because there's all these kind of ideals of what a
man should be?

Speaker 2 (27:48):
So what does it mean to die like a man?

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Just toxic, masculine? Like masculine, go out, you know, just
a man's man. That's what I believe. Go out on
your own rules, your own terms, just rebel.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Hardrick is here, we are talking about Die Like a Man.
He produced and starting that movie. Of course, he's got
a lot of other things going on in his personal life.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Well discuss it's way up this yeah.

Speaker 8 (28:10):
Yea more way up with you.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
It is what's up its way up at Angela. Yee.
I'm here and Corey Hardrick is here with me today.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
It's a special day because his movie Die Like a
Man is on Apple TV streaming right now. So I
was watching the movie and in the movie, you are
the head of the Latino gang.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
I thought that was interesting because I don't know that
much about gang culture and especially in LA.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
But you're like a black guy, but you're like running this.

Speaker 8 (28:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Because I was cool with his dad in prison, so
when I was released, I was already kind of sworn
in through the family, okay. And you know that was
the title they gave me when I got out. It
was to get out and protect his son and give
them that misguided information of the streets and be knowledgeable.
But so I was the leader of the crew. They
all looked up to me, you know what I'm saying.
So that was just that's just what it was. Oh,

(29:01):
I got a story. So we were shooting a movie
in East LA and a real gang like the gangs
pulled up back to text the neighborhood like they were like,
well they can't shoot here, and now as we pay it,
like we pay him, and they was thirty deep, tattoos
on their heads and next everything and they knew it.
They saw all the cameras.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
You know, they still get ignorant, like, yeah, what's going on.
It's going on.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
You see the film trucks everything.

Speaker 6 (29:22):
You know.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
The police was like, let him walk right by, right.
They always send a small white dude, like the tiny
white guy over there because they know he looks so like,
you know, he's non threatening to negotiate with the people.
He'll go over there and talk, you know. So it
took about a couple hours and then you know, they
worked it out. I don't know if they had to
give him some bread.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
I have nothing to do with it.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
I'm I walked, I walked to the list.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
I'd be like I produced a Cory.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Come on, I had a tear drop right here and
I had to hear. And it was about they was
thirty deep. They looked like they was fresh.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Out right now.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
I'm talking to Corey Harjack. His movie Die Like a
Man is on Apple TV today. This is also a
love story too. Do you remember your first love?

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yeah, I was engaged and like teenager.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
As a teenager, yeah, I bought an engagement ring and
everything in Chicago.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
That was with someone for like six years. I thought
that was the one.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
And then she came out to la and then she
saw me living in the hood and I had like
a long banana boat type of car.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Well you had a car.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Listen that car. And she was like, get me out
of here. You come back to Chicago. I'm leaving it. So, yeah,
that didn't work.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
So did you keep it? Did she keep the ring
or did she give it back?

Speaker 1 (30:32):
No, she kept it. I don't know what she deal
with it.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
But that's heartbreaking.

Speaker 8 (30:36):
Though.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
You come out here you think somebody's down for you,
but on the flip side of that, you might have
never gotten to where you got to. Because sometimes things
like that, to me, it's like a catalyst for me
to want to go harder.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
One thing I'm going to ask you, what's something that
you get at that nobody knows about it.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
A lot of people don't know. I can cook macaroni
and cheese, the best on the planet.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Really bread crambs and no bread crumbs.

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Rich crackers. You crumble them up and just sprink along
the top, give that little salty. That's my thing. Mac
and cheese. Now, if you ask me to cook something else.
I don't know, that's it. What type of cheese I
would say, crackle berrel cheese, sharp cheddar or yeah sharp cheddar,
like yeah, grew your cheese. I have that in their parmesan.
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
This don't sound that but okay.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Oh, I gotta get a whole recipe.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
No, I'm just that appealing cream mushroom, mushroom, cream mushroom.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
You gotta put the Is that a normal thing?

Speaker 6 (31:28):
No?

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Right, okay, I didn't think so.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
Yeah, it's my recipe is on Google. You look it
up before you.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
I know what not to know. But thank you so much.
I appreciate you.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
