going on on the West Coast this weekend, and I
do want to give my condolences.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
We have breaking news.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
So last night there was a fatal shooting outside of
the Bellagio in Vegas in the early morning hours, and unfortunately,
two people have been confirmed dead from that shooting. According
to reports, they believe it was something that was on
social media. The suspect and the victim had previously engaged
in some type of conflict and then it ended that way.

(00:49):
So that's very unfortunate. Our condolences to the families. Were
going to keep you updated as to what's going on.
You know, we're on Real one or three point nine
in Vegas, so that is our breaking news. And today
I actually just landed from La The BT Awards are tonight,
so we got a lot of special special interviews for
you guys, some exclusives. Victoria Monet, Sierra Devon, Franklin, Tamar Braxton,

(01:15):
Ay Marie A. Money Long joined us. They sat down together.
Anybody who's watched the show Forever, that series by Judy Bloom.
You know, just a lot of different things that we're
going to be doing today. So I'm excited for that,
but I did have to give our condolences at the
beginning of the show. Let's get the show started with
some love and some positivity. Let's shine a light. You
know we need it. Eight hundred and two ninety two

(01:37):
fifty fifty. Call us up, let us know who you
want to shine a light on.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
I'm turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those
who are doing greatness. Shine the light on them, Shine
the light on them. It's time to shine a light
on them, all right.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
His way up at Angela Yee, I'm here and my producer, Dan,
who was just traveling with me to uh Los Angeles
for the BET Awards, is here too, And we want
to shine a light on somebody who actually was amazing
to us yesterday. We want to shout out to our girl, Shwanda,
who works for Delta Elite Services Ambassador. We were in

(02:15):
the Delta one Lounge and it was quite an amazing
experience and she definitely made sure we were well taken
care of. It's just a privilege to be able to
do things like that as your traveling.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
What'd you think, Dan?

Speaker 6 (02:25):
It was amazing And I'm like a regular guy, so
I don't really get access to those type of lounges
and it was really nice. Yeah, you had Thank you Angela.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
You had sushi. We were having little Margarita's. But yes,
to be able to do those things as you're waiting
to get on the flight is much appreciated. And she
was just super cool and making sure we were good
and they were always good.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
So thank you Shawanda. All right, now as she and
who do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 7 (02:50):
Oh my wife, Erica. She's just so amazing. You know
so much for sear me first, you know, I want
to do a boo shot out.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Okay, how long you guys been married? We are three years?
So in love?

Speaker 4 (03:06):
All right, Well, shout out to you, Erica young man.
Your husband of three years loves you. All right, thank
you for calling. That was Shina Light eight hundred and two,
nine fifty just in case you couldn't get through. And
when we come back, we are going to start with
these exclusives from the BET Awards in the media room,
and first up, Joy Taylor, you know her from Fox
Sports one and from her own show to personal show,

(03:28):
and we got sought from Salt and Peppa, who just
got into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She's
performing tonight. We'll talk about it. It's way up, they.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Says the rooms from industry shade to all of gos.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
How Sam Angelas is feeling that. Eet all right?

Speaker 4 (03:44):
This way up with Angela Yee and as you know,
just caught the red eye, came straight into work and
let's talk about some of the things that happened in
la As. We're getting ready for the BET Awards. It's
gonna be airing two nights. Kevin Hart is hosting, but
there's gonna be a lot of special guests, a lot
of prizes. While we were in the media room, Jasmine
Brand sat with me and we talked to a lot

(04:05):
of people who are going to be attending, presenting performing.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
One of them was.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Joy Tilla, you know her from Fox Sports one. And
here's what she had to say about dealing with backlash
because I always see people talking crazy. Here's what she said,
It's inconsequential to me what someone thinks about me.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
I cannot convince you of any right.

Speaker 8 (04:26):
I also feel like, just as black women, we always
have to be strong, and this chapter of my life
has really made me lean into.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
My people, all right. Love to see that. You can
watch that full interview.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Of course, somewhere Yep with Ye now sucked from Salt
and Peppa is going to be performing and you got
to check that out. But they've had some great, great times,
like as of late just getting into the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame. They are definitely icons, being honored
by Billboard, all of those things. But another thing about
so she's been so open about her life with reality TV,

(05:02):
with being a star since she was young.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
She went through a bad divorce. Here's what she said.

Speaker 8 (05:07):
You know, I've got divorced in twenty eighteen, broke up
in twenty sixteen, So for nine years I hadn't even
gone on a date, and now all of a sudden,
since I changed my energy.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Okay, I'm exhausted from baby yay.

Speaker 8 (05:19):
My divorce was super traumatic in so many ways, but
I realized, like some people it takes them maybe two years,
three years, it took me nine years before I even
felt like I even wanted to think about a man.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Nine years.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
But I love to see that she is having a
good time being outside, and she's right. Changing your energy
is definitely changing what you attract. Now, as far as performing,
she's going to be hitting that stage with an Ultimate Icon.
Here's what she said.

Speaker 8 (05:47):
I haven't performed with him, and I like, I want
to say, twenty seven years wow and the beginning a
real throwback. Yes, And when I did that song with him,
I had no idea it would be like I think
it's like the number one Gospels.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Ever that don't even just be a guy. That's everything.
They played it and I used to do it. Do
y'all know what song that is?

Speaker 4 (06:09):
That is stomped by Kirk Franklin and he is getting
the BT Ultimate Icon Award tonight. And so here is
what Kirk Franklin had to say about getting this award.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
You don't ever plan for nothing like this, so when
it comes, you don't even always want to respond to it.
And I always got something to say when I'm lost
the words.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
That's the problem. And so I'm just overwhelmed with gratitude.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Do you feel like an icon? No? What do you
feel like?

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Kirk?

Speaker 4 (06:37):
I do want to say, we had some to kill
and we definitely hit it before Kirk Franklin showed up
and he was like, you ain't got to do that,
just be yourself, So next time we won't. But yeah,
so check out that for and if you. Kirk Franklin
has a lot going on besides just music. He's got
new singles out, but he also has a new show
that's going to be premiering dennef King. So all of

(06:59):
the things a lot. When we come back, we have
about last night. That's where we discussed what we did
last night. It feels like last night is still today.
It does, right, Yeah, so we'll tell you all about it.
I also, by the way, had a chance to watch
Tyler Perry's new movie Straw, So definitely want to see
what y'all thought about that.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
It's way up night.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
So about last night? Yes, PSI went down.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Who is way up? With Angela? I'm here.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Dan is here, my producer, and he's smiling and he
knows why. So we were at BT Awards weekend. The
BT Awards are tonight, but we left last night on
the Red Oi to get back here to get to work,
and I want to just say a couple of things.
I get to the airport, early on a normal basis,
Like you know, our flight was at nine forty. I

(07:47):
would have got to the airport maybe around like eight
fifteen to play it safe.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Damn, what time did you call the car to go
to the airport?

Speaker 6 (07:55):
Should we provide more context here?

Speaker 3 (07:57):
What time? Though?

Speaker 9 (07:58):
This?

Speaker 6 (07:58):
I call the car five point fifty?

Speaker 3 (08:00):
Are you called the current five fifty?

Speaker 4 (08:02):
We got to the airport at six, like twenty twenty
five something like that.

Speaker 6 (08:07):
It was six forty because it was exactly three hours
before the flight. All but you're kind of, you know,
spending the narrative a little bit, the building of how
you wanted to sid.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Like, yes, crazy, I agree, Okay, I agree. Now you
can say you're apart.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
So when we were at the media house, there was
a lot going on in La There was the Pride Parade,
there was riots and protests going on for the downtown.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
Yes, So because of that, we saw that a lot
of highways were blocked. So we agreed that we were
going to leave early around six. That was a great, No,
that was a great It was a verbal agreement. Oh
I don't remember, okay, So I'm going.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
To read these text messages, like you said six no, Well,
yeah I did, but you said you said, and then
I checked the time and I said, oh, it only
is a thirty six minutes.

Speaker 6 (08:56):
We also don't know if that calculates the fact that
a highway is blocked.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Well in real time, so it does take into consideration traffic.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
Okay, Well, let's read these texts to see how crazy
I really am. Okay, so at five forty seven, I said,
I called the car and then you said we want
to party. It says thirty six minutes. I said immediately,
I said immediately, should I cancel it? And then I
just canceled it? And then you said no.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
No, wait, no, back up for one second. Now you
wouldn't wait for a response.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
Well, I canceled the car because you said you wanted
to party.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Did I cancel it and then cancel it.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Because you wanted to party? So I was like, why
am I even asking? I'll cancel the car.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
You said it was only a thirty six minute ride, right,
So I canceled it.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
And then as soon as I said I canceled it,
you said no with five os. I was kidding. So
then I reacted immediately, and what I do? I called
another car?

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Now you call me.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
You said you were kidding.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
You wanted to go, so I called another car.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
I said, I want to go crazy. Did I say
I went to go?

Speaker 6 (09:51):
You said you were kidding about telling me to cancel it.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
I did. I say, let's order another car.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
Dan, you got to communicate differently because you've made all
these moves and you could have just you were standing
right outside. I was in the lobby all the apple.
I said, I'm coming downstairs. But anyway, this is just
the communication. Okay, I'm not getting to the airport three
hours early, for.

Speaker 6 (10:11):
I didn't know. It took us like fifty minutes.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
I didn't know it was going to be three hours.

Speaker 6 (10:15):
And then we hung out in the Delta one lounge.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
It was all good, all right.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Anyway, thank you so much for about last night. Here
we are when we come back. Oh Victoria Monet, we
had a chance to sit down and talk to her.
She's amazing. She got a children's book and she's going
on a tour for it. But we'll talk about its
way up and.

Speaker 6 (10:31):
No one of lemos to famous women at radio idiot.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
We're talking about angela Ye. You're way up with angela Ye.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Please believe that what's up is way up with Angela
Yee And as you know, over the weekend we were
in La getting ready for the BET Awards doing media house.
BT Awards are happening tonight hosted by Kevin Hart.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
But one person who we talk.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
To is a Victoria Monet and she's got a lot
going on. So let's hear what happened when we spoke
to Victoria. It's me and Jasmine Brand.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Now you have a children's book, yay. Everywhere you are
obviously you have a child, but when inspired the book.

Speaker 10 (11:08):
The book is intended to combat separation, anxiety and children
and mom or parent guilt. The book is a conversation
between the moon and a star, and the sentiment is
that you know when you look in the sky, sometimes
you don't see the moon, but you know in the
back of your mind it's there. And us as parents,
that's what a child will feel. Sometimes you don't see us,
but you know that our love is there. And so

(11:29):
there's certain quotes in the book that I want the
children to kind of live with and know that love
brings us together and it's not only presents.

Speaker 11 (11:36):
Yeah, I want to ask you as a mom, when
is the appropriate time when you're dating someone to introduce
the new man to your child.

Speaker 10 (11:44):
I haven't introduced anyone that I've ever dated. I mean
there's really only been one person since John. But there
was no introduction, and I think that probably is a
conversation between me and or the mom and the father. Yeah,
like when is it comfortable? And also when you know
you're serious, because you don't want to be introducing your
child to multiple people, especially within two or three years.

(12:07):
You're like, it's confusing, and your child will present you
you're dating.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Was it allegedly? I think that was brief and over.
It's already.

Speaker 10 (12:15):
Yeah, like it listened to the opening because of paparazzi,
which I never experienced. We weren't even like together. We
never actually got together. It turned into like, oh, they're
they're like a couple, which we weren't. We were just
trying it out each other. We meet each other and
when we send it the next album coming.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Or what do we do want to say?

Speaker 10 (12:32):
Twenty twenty six.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
To be honest, I'm still in the I'm still cooking.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
You know it's good.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
I'm excited, and we'll come play it for you first. Okay,
don't play with me, No, seriously, I want you to.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Know you so I'm such a such a fan like
some of my favorite favorite songs.

Speaker 10 (12:45):
Okay, you know what's so crazy? I was just thinking
about it, Like I don't feel that way anymore. I
don't want to be a friend, you can.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
I want to date. It's a phase, my particular era
right now. I really want.

Speaker 10 (12:58):
Someone who's serious and it's gonna just spoil me.

Speaker 12 (13:01):
I want to be spoiled.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
And let me tell you, I'm sure there are men
out there that I like.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
I would do that for her, absolutely a chance, and
stop leaving me on red.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Oh shoot those requests? Okay, how would somebody gets your attention?
I like in.

Speaker 10 (13:15):
Person, but I don't like if you send a friend
a tele a friend, or like make a rumor. But
if you're forward with me, and then also I like
to be pursued, like you can persuade me. I'm too
busy to really focus on it, but if you keep trying,
maybe I like persistence. Okay, you also, maybe that might
be the wrong message because if it's been the wrong person,
that gets weird.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
You don't like stalking and realize we like persistence when
I saw some interest, like if it feels.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
Like, Okay, there's a little shot here. We like to
see that like you care because a lot of till
doing what's easy. We want to feel like you are
dedicated to making sure that this goes from being a
little flirtatious to being like, I'm glad I have to
come take you on a date.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Honestly, yeah, like I'm thrust in red and you're a
bull like come that's a very great all right, Well,
thank you so much, big Turner man.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
To make sure you'll pick up this book everywhere you are.
And I do want to say this dedication in the
back is so special. I think it's going to resonate
with a lot of people.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Thank you so much. Yes, shout out to you. Hazel. Hey, hey,
hey hey my manager. All right, well, thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
You can watch that full Victoria Monette interview and it's
a good one on our YouTube channel.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Way up with ye and when we come back.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
We sat down with a Marie and money Long together
by the way, at the BET Awards. The two of
them actually recently performed together at Coachella. A Marie just
did Tiny Desk and money Long has got some interesting
education for you.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
Sure, she's about to blow the lead ab off this spot.
Let's get it.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Angela's feeling that yet, come and get the tea.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
All right, it's way up with Angela yee And I
am pretending to be wide away, but I just flew
back in from b ET Awards in La well the
radio room.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
The awards are actually.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Going to be airing tonight, and we had a chance
to talk to some of my favorite people, which includes
money Now, Money Long and a Marie sat down together
with us. And one thing that Money Lung's been doing
because as you know, she's been in this business for
a long time as a songwriter before she even became
the huge solo artist that she is today. And here's
what she had to say about her songwriter's initiative and

(15:16):
the importance of publishing.

Speaker 13 (15:18):
Understanding publishing is the key to harving longevity. There's things
that you can do to put money in your pocket. Truly,
is not it, but that's where everybody is really in publishing. Yes,
but if you're doing so new. We can't have a
union of songwriters, but we can build an army. And
that's what I said, is like if everybody is fighting
together for the same cause if we are all making

(15:39):
informed decisions and we all know what we're talking about,
they can't trick you.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
You have rights, all right. See.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
I love that she's learned her lessons and now she
wants to pass those on to other people.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Now a Marie. You know, she.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Recently did Tiny Desk. A lot of people were weighing
in on that and one people. One thing people ask,
and I will say, Jasmine Brand was here with me
and she kept asking me did she have a fan
while she was performing?

Speaker 3 (16:03):
And here's what she had to say. I'd asked for fans.

Speaker 11 (16:06):
So they were like, yeah, but it's loud, and so
they were like, can't really be up and I was like, okay,
that's understandable.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
There was one already down there. It's like I see it.
He's like, yeah, it's fine for us to blow for
you know, keep people cool. And I was like, so
can be honest? Okay. He was like, yeah, that's fine.
So I had like used my foot and I was like, okay,
let me just angle it up a little bit, just
for a check. People don't know about him, Marie.

Speaker 13 (16:24):
Maybe you don't know, but I got to experience person hand.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
She does not play about that rehearsal.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
All right, and that's because they also did Coachella together,
so it was nice the two of them sat down
with us together. Another person who I was so excited
to see because I did watch this whole series on Netflix,
Forever based on the Judy Blum novel, but also I
found out based on Marbaccha Kill's son, who has I
guess he must.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Have adhd Michael Cooper Junior.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
He played the star of the show Forever, and he
sat down with us. I really enjoyed talking to him,
and he discussed how starring in that series has changed
his life forever.

Speaker 6 (17:05):
It's crazy, and I guess I didn't realize the impact.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
People were swarming me trying to take It's been a blessing,
but it's adjusting.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Different, right, what's going on.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
At I gotta focus.

Speaker 9 (17:18):
You know.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
He's having a time in front of his mama that
she's not around.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
And I was excited because he wanted to come and
talk to us and his mom was there and it
was just a chill, chill time that we had. And
you can watch his full conversation too on our YouTube
channel Way Up with You, because it's a lot that
we had the opportunity to discuss. But in the meantime, uh,
let's get into some under the radar when we come back.
And we also right now have some Beyonce and Sean

(17:46):
Paul with baby Boy.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
News. This in the news that relates to you. These
stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
All right, it's way up with Angela and it's time
for under the radar. And you know what this this
is definitely not under the radar, but something that we
have to talk about.

Speaker 3 (18:04):
And Dan, you're here with me.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Now.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
We were just in LA over the weekend and there
was a lot of traffic. So it was pride. It's
Pride month, so there was a Pride parade. But in
addition to that, there has been federal immigration rates in LA,
and Donald Trump has deployed National Guard troops, even though
the governor of California and LA's mayor do not want

(18:26):
that to happen.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
And normally, in.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
A situation like this, you can't override what's going on
in the state. But Donald Trump has done this and
made this a federal situation. Donald Trump wrote on truth
Social today, looking really.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Bad in LA.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Bring in the troops and there's been flashbans and tear
gas that's been used to disperse crowds. Some officers have
been hitting protesters. Protesters have been setting self driving cars
on fire. Donald Trump, in the meantime, is trying to
put forward this front of just looking very powerful and
letting people know that these unducked documented migrants and this

(19:02):
crackdown and militarizing. This crackdown is going to continue, and
this is something that he did promise, and so people
are like, this is not what we signed up for.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Yes it is.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
He said this while he was running for office. But
I did go look at the LA Times just to
kind of get more information on what you can do
should this happen, because the number of immigration raids has
increased across southern California over the last week. I mean
they're going over to the garment district, that going into
restaurants and basically arresting people.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
So you do have rights.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
Now, whether or not these rights will be followed, I
don't know, but I do want to let people know.
As I was reading this information, and Dan will tell you,
I was like, oh, I don't know if this even matters,
because I think part of the problem is that there
is no real path. It feels like the citizenship programs
are getting canceled. There's people who are here legally who
were following the process they thought they were supposed to

(19:57):
follow that all of a sudden, their rights have been
cancer and they don't know what's about to happen. So
that's a really scary thing. I literally, even here in
New York, I've heard stories and seen kids who are
terrified about what's going to happen. And one of my
friends lives across the street from a school, and she
was telling us about a little boy who will come
across the street sent on her stoop and then kind

(20:18):
of hide when and she didn't know what was going on.
And then she said the crossing guard was explaining to her,
these kids are scared, because yeah, and it's really sad
to see little kids having to deal with this. But
if immigration agents knock on your door, if you're home
alone or with family members, you hear that happen, you
do not have to open a door unless they have

(20:38):
a warrant, and they have to show you the warrant
by putting it against the window or slipping it under
your door. It has to be issued by a court
it has to have the correct name and address of
the person they're trying to seize, and it has to
be signed by a judge or a magistrate judge. So
just so you know those things, you also should get
this red card that can be downloaded from a website,
the Immigration Legal Resource Center. You can show this card

(21:00):
to affirm that you want to remain silent because you
don't have to speak, and you can let them know
you wish to speak to a lawyer. And you have
your Fifth Amendment right so you don't have to do
anything and speak to anybody at that time. If they
do enter your home without consent, you have the right
to say I do not consent to this entry or search.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
Let's just say it, because you know these ICE ICE
agents aren't going to follow that.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Yeah, that's the thing, right, you have the right to
remain silent.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
But they're doing whatever it is that they want, so
that's what's particularly scary, and they're doing this on a
direction of who of course the president. All right, Well, anyway,
just giving you guys that information, and we do have
the way it mixed for you. At the top of
the hour, again, we were in LA for BT Awards
when we come back. We also have interviews with Sierra
Tamar Braxton went a little crazy with that, and Devon Franklin,

(21:44):
who is starring in Divorced Sistas as well.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
It's way up. She's like at like they Angel, Jean,
like they Angel.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
And she's spilling it all. This is yaky, way.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Up, all right, it's way up at the end. Yee
on a Monday, and let's get into some yet. So
over the weekend, on Saturday, Ditty's attorneys did foul documents
they want to try to get a miss trial, and
today is day nineteen of the trial.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
They started off the day by the.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
Judge announcing he will not rule on that motion from
mistrial until tomorrow. So it's going to be some time
for him to find out between today and tomorrow whether
or not this miss trial can potentially happen in the meantime,
quote unquote, Jane, who was a former girlfriend of Ditty
who has been testifying under the name Jane Do, took
the stand again today and detailed a lot of different things.

(22:35):
She did say that after learning about Cassie's federal lawsuit
against Ditty, she said, I almost fainted.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
In fact, I think.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
I did because that lawsuit had a harrowing resemblance to
her own experience. She said, I can't believe I'm reading
my own story. She also said she only met Cassie
a couple of times in passing and they have not
communicated beyond that. She gives a lot of different detail
while she's on the stand about not wanting to do
these parties anymore. But Diddy, she also talks about meeting

(23:05):
with him for a sobriety party. This was in October
of twenty twenty three. Diddy was trying to get sober.
She said she didn't take drugs. During the sobriety party,
she threw up after having sex with two men, and
then she said, after she threw up, did he told her, Okay,
that's good, you'll feel better now, let's go outside, And
then she had sex with the third man and at
the end of the night she felt absolutely terrible. She

(23:28):
also said that she had stopped answering his calls after
they fought, but then she did respond because of messages
about medical issues.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
There were some issues that he was having with his knees.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
Now he was paying her rent it was ten thousand
dollars a month and after that sobriety party.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
She said Diddy went to Miami.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
She texted him asking him to put money in her account,
and then sent some more angry text messages about feeling
used for the sobriety party that had turned into a
hotel night when he didn't answer, and he sent her
back an audio message saying that he's single and doesn't
have to listen to her. So she also said, you
placed all these harmful men on me and risked my health.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
That was in a text message. She said, this was
never love.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
I regret everything and all this dark toxic ish that
entered my life. And then he called her and tried
to calm her down. So that is what's happening on
the stand right now. We'll keep on giving you details.
I know tomorrow is an important day to find out
what the judge decides about this mistrial.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
Or not coming up.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
We got some news about what happened at the Beet
Media House.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
BT Awards are tonight.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
Devonn Franklin is going to be joining us and we'll
play that interview that we did out there me and
Jasmine Brand. Divorced Sister is also starting tomorrow on BET.
So we're getting ready for all of those things.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
It's way up.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
It's way up with Angela. Let's go.

Speaker 14 (24:47):
You are a media may man, right, you never know
what Angel's gonna say.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
What's up is way up with Angela. Yee.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
And this guy is one of the busiest guys in
Hollywood behind the camera, in front of the camera. Devon Franklin,
who's also starring in Divorced Sisters, came by the BT
Media house and he sat down with me and Jasmine.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Brand So glad to be here and always good to
see you.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
Good to see you.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
I cannot wait to see because they've been promoting this
show so heavy, and you know I'm a big fan
of Sisters already.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Oh so if you love Sisters, you're gonna love this as.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
A tima so you love watch this? I mean anything
also that Tyler Perry does. I also always support I
already watched Draw.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Yeah a man, and I know it's gonna be juicy.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
Yes, Yes, How did you prepare for your role?

Speaker 1 (25:29):
You know what I prepare for my role. I have
an acting coach that I work with. Also, because we
shot sixteen one hour episodes in two weeks, which which
is not a game. So I worked with the memorization coach.
I mean there were some days where there would be
one hundred pages on the call sheet that we would
be shooting that day, and sometimes I would have scenes
in about sixty seventy percent of those pages, So learning

(25:51):
the lines. And then the other thing for me in
terms of preparation was as an actor, as an artist,
you have to not judge the characters. You know, when
you see this character, he's not mean, you know him,
then there's some part you're not gonna like.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
Very man, because who exists that everybody likes everything? No,
no one, not exists, no one.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
So that prep process for me was just being to
one just remember divn this ain't you, and to allowing
myself to give what the character needed and the gold places.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
That I may not go as a person, but the
character goes.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
So you had to get out the way, give us
a little example.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Oh my goodness, Well, like when you see the first episode,
like I had to bring a little bit of meanness
and a little you know, being very curt with my
wife and people who see who've seen it, they're like.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
Yo, that's good dude.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Was that you were chili? You are ice cold? I said,
I had to do that right.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Now, you're listening to Divine Franklin at the b ET
Media House with me and Jasmine Brand.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
Divine, was it a little fun? Though?

Speaker 2 (26:52):
It was fun?

Speaker 1 (26:53):
It was no, I'm telling you. And then there are
some other moments in the in the series, y'all got
to watch. I'm not going to ruin it that. There
are some moments y'all gonna be like, what.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Son, your character is probably gonna be trending.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Oh lord, let's he was no good?

Speaker 3 (27:09):
I know it.

Speaker 4 (27:10):
I called and you are getting married? Right, you're engaged? Yes,
I found that engagement in Hawaii. All that's a congratulations,
Thank you so much. All right, So don't bring any
of that past the stuff you're doing a TV home, No.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Because I ain't gonna fly with Maria. Maria like, nah,
you're gonna leave that set.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
Don't have her call off.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
That's right, acting like your character.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Don't do it.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
But congratulations, see you. I cannot wait to see Divorced
Sisters June tenth.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Right, June tenth, Divorce Sisters drops on BT plus the
first two episodes and there.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Watching to see what you do.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
We gotta watch it.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
They're gonna do a sneak peak right after the bt
Awards of the first episode. Okay, so that'll be out
beat on June ninth, and but June tenth, the series
begins to drop on b ET Plus and then every
week another episode will drop for the next stuff fifteen weeks.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
Well, congratulations and we cannot wait to see. I want
to say, Divine Franklin is a person who is not
scared to come do lip service.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
I did.

Speaker 11 (27:59):
It's gonna come back and bring your ride.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
Okay, do that?

Speaker 3 (28:06):
Yes? Question and we got a question.

Speaker 7 (28:10):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Thank you so much, Den Franklin.

Speaker 4 (28:14):
You can watch up full Divine Franklin interview on my
YouTube channel on Way Up with Ye And when.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
We come back, Sierra is joining us its.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
Way Up, Break them down more?

Speaker 4 (28:26):
Now, what's up his Way Up with Angela Yee?

Speaker 3 (28:31):
And y'all already know.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Jasmine Brand and I were represented for Way Up with
Angela Yee at the b ET Awards in the media
house and we had a chance to talk to the
amazing Sierra.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Here's what happened. I can't even imagine what an amazing
wife you are.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Also, because you guys have businesses together, which I think
is ideal in a partnership to be able to be like, Okay,
my wife is my best friend but also my business partner,
but also a great mavava, but then also the sexy
side of things, because it is a balance, you know
what I'm saying, to be able to be my guy.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
We're working together, but I'm.

Speaker 9 (29:02):
Also turning up you gotta turn it up one time.
Life is like organized chaos from my perspective, like it
really is a balancing act and I don't always get
it right and it's hard to have complete balance.

Speaker 12 (29:14):
Literally, I would be.

Speaker 9 (29:15):
On the stage in the UK and then I'm emailing
a teacher about some homework, you know, and then I
go to Russ's football. I want to be in all
those places as much as I can, and it is
important to your point, still turn that thing up right
and so still turn Yes, that's important. Like I'm a cougar,
you know.

Speaker 11 (29:34):
So hold on, hold on.

Speaker 9 (29:37):
If you're a cougar, then what are we Well, I'm
just saying my husband's three years.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Younger, daddy. That's nothing, that's damn it. At the same time,
cougar is.

Speaker 9 (29:45):
Like if he wasn't no no no no no no no.
Grazy it's not no three years when I'm saying, I
don't think is my husband's thirty six years old?

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Okay, and he's a male. We got it?

Speaker 4 (29:58):
Okay, kids, How is it doing music on your own terms?

Speaker 12 (30:02):
So freeing?

Speaker 9 (30:03):
You don't have to wait for anyone to make a
decision for you. The powerful ownership is so important, you know.
I asked them to give my master's back. They gave
them back to me for free. That's how much they
didn't believe WOWA for level up.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Well they gave it to you. Thank you for not believing.
It's Jazzmine Brandon angela ye.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
And we were talking to Sierra at the media house
for b ET Awards and here's some more.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
Are you petty?

Speaker 4 (30:24):
Like, let me just send a little like you know what,
because I just fear like if that was me and
you don't leave.

Speaker 12 (30:30):
Oh, you don't have to send a message. They already
got it.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Like, I just want to say, I ran.

Speaker 9 (30:34):
Into the person that messed up. It was the CEO
of the company, and he didn't even have words. He
didn't even know what to say to me.

Speaker 4 (30:41):
Oh wow, Yeah, nothing better than showing and proven though
for real, to me, that is a motivating thing when
somebody doesn't believe in you. Oh my gosh, that is
that's the.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Best revenge.

Speaker 11 (30:52):
Yes, the best success is the best revenge. You have
a song that you think everybody slept on.

Speaker 9 (30:56):
Okay, I have a song that I really want to
put out that my label thought back then. I was
signed to the Majors and they did not let me
do it, and I really believe it could have been
super cool. It was a song I had called high
Price featuring Luda and I sing like operatic style, like
I was singing opera style really high. It was just
different and I thought that song would have been really
amazing song I have called Overdose. We put it out,

(31:18):
but they didn't really push. But it's big in Europe.
They showed me so much.

Speaker 12 (31:20):
Love here, you know.

Speaker 9 (31:22):
So there's those cuts that are in between ones my
first album. I love the song called Thuckstown. I never
got to put it out, but it was a classic.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
I don't know that song. I was going to ask
about the CC project, So what's the deal?

Speaker 12 (31:34):
CC album comes out August twenty second.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
We have a date August twenty second.

Speaker 9 (31:38):
There's some fun treats on there, like Jazzy Faye produced
and Lottos on that record.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
So it's a little tea that's gonna be amazing.

Speaker 12 (31:45):
I'm excited for that.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
That's Atlanta, you know.

Speaker 9 (31:49):
So yeah, this project is really me just saying thank
you to my fans for their support on the journey
or literally twenty one years.

Speaker 12 (31:55):
It's my first album, honestly.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Congratulations on everything, though, because I do love to see it.
I feel like you've always been so sweet, so talented.
You've been in this game for a long time, and
I like to see your happiness.

Speaker 12 (32:06):
It looks you good ver much. I appreciate you guys
so much, and I'm proud of you ladies too. Thank
you because you've been going for so many years.

Speaker 9 (32:13):
Yes, building your brands, making names for yourselves.

Speaker 12 (32:17):
That's not easy, all right.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
You can watch that full Sierra interview on my YouTube
channel Way Up with Ye And when we come back,
Tamar Braxton sat in that hot seat.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
She made our seats hot. We're gonna talk about it.
It's way up.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
Were about to do this one of the lingos to
famous women in radio radio women.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
We're talking about Angela Yee. You're way up with Angela Yee.
Please believe that What's Up?

Speaker 3 (32:38):
His way Up with Angela Yee and Jasmine Brandon.

Speaker 4 (32:40):
I had the opportunity to sit down and talk to
Tamar Braxton and not just talk to her, but you know,
has some shots with.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Her, and she really told us a lot.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
I felt like we could have sat there and talked
to Tamar for hours and hours and hours as many
long we.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
Say, But here it is.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
You know, we've been starting with this positivity of this
is a celebration b tr words twenty fifth anniversary. What
is Tamar celebrating Personally.

Speaker 14 (33:05):
I'm celebrating me, y'all. I'm so proud of me. There's
a lot of things that could have kept me down.
The things that I went through last year, I felt
like was meant to take me out of here.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
I put on my Supergirl outfit.

Speaker 14 (33:18):
Yeah, I got five shows coming out of this year
in the first quarter.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
I'm talking about now and five show, five show record
and like three under my own production company.

Speaker 14 (33:28):
And I have a single that's out, I have an
ELI that's coming out. I just got off a tour
and I'm going back on my tour in September, and
I'm just that's what I'm saying, Yes, me can we
y'all ask you?

Speaker 11 (33:40):
Yes me, let me ask you this. Your sister got
married and got married? Yeah, did you you did not come?
Are we going to talk about why on the show?

Speaker 3 (33:48):
No? Now, shot.

Speaker 14 (33:52):
I wish my sister. Well, that's my sister. I love her.
He was okay, he just had a birthday.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Yeah wow, But I know you said that you wasn't
outside till you till he turns eighteen, so we got
six years left.

Speaker 14 (34:05):
I was a little exaggerated, But you know the thing is,
I am afraid to introduce somebody else to my son
because you know, my son really takes that to heart
when somebody promises him something, and I think he could
quickly develop an abandonment issue, if you understand what I'm saying,
and I'm trying to prevent that at all costs, even

(34:25):
if it has anything to do with my own happiness.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
Right now, you're listening to Jasmine Brand and myself talking
to Tamar Braxon at the BT Awards in the radio room.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
How are you gonna what's the new rule? What's the thing?
The rules is nobody gets to meet him. Okay, that's avail.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Nobody gets to meet and tell me about to move
it in together when I married.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
I want to talk about that next. People be lying, girl,
We know that people be lying. You open to get
married again? Yes, she's a lover. I'm a pisces. I
can't help it, you know, I'm a if not a girlfriend.
Would you like to do another talk show or a
different varia?

Speaker 14 (35:04):
You know, I believe that's in my destiny. I do.
It's a passion of mine and I just can't wait.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Till that comes to fruition. Okay, so, yes, what's the
last day you've been on I feel like that's a
trick question, Angela.

Speaker 11 (35:17):
She might be dating more than one suitor. Okay, maybe
she doesn't want to day.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
I actually hadn't been on a date.

Speaker 5 (35:23):
Y'all.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
We should take We should take Tamar on a date. Please. Yes,
I know I got somebody for you, really, so tell
me about it.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Well, listen, I think that you need somebody that could
politely sometimes be like Tamar take it down and not
Yeah you need that, but also who's going to cater
to you, spoil you, pay for you all of the things.
I also love the fact that you're going to be cooking. Yes,
I like that, and then not want to be in
the spotlight, so he could from that let my baby.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
Shine, oh my lord, okay, yeah, and be patient, Let
that profession be their professional, let mine be.

Speaker 4 (35:59):
Mine, and then you could come home after you finished.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Me in yeah and regular yeah, all right.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
As I said, man, Tamar Braxton is a time and
she had a lot to get out there, get off
her chest. She's got a lot of things to celebrate,
but you also have some remorse with certain things. She
recently said, Jasmine brand is here with me. We have
more when we come back.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
It's way up, way.

Speaker 5 (36:23):
Up with.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
What's up. Its way up at Angela yee. I already
told you.

Speaker 4 (36:29):
Jasmine Brandon and I were at the BET Awards in
the media room and we were talking to Tamar Braxton.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
Here's what happened.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
I did enjoy seeing you with Nini and her talk show,
but I know you were like, damn it.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
I was drunk. I was drunk, and it was kitchen talking,
was girlfriend talking, but with Camelon's Tamar, it was but
you forgetting And you got to understand.

Speaker 14 (36:46):
My background is reality TV, so all of this stuff
behind the scenes is fluff to me. And I promise
you when I got home, I texted Nini.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
I said, Nini, this can never come out. How did
that conversation go? And did it came out? It made
the jam so sad. I felt bad about it all
you did?

Speaker 14 (37:07):
Okay, number one, that's just not who I am and
where I'm going as a person, and then my growth
it just doesn't match because some of.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
It it was mean and you oh, I hated it.
I hated it.

Speaker 14 (37:17):
I have been able to hold my tongue for all
of these years publicly, and the last thing I wanted
to do was shame anybody or kind of reignite anything that.
You know, it was kind of put to rest, gotcha,
And I felt really bad about that.

Speaker 11 (37:31):
Were you able to text these people and be like, hey,
or did you I'm.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Actually I did reach out. Okay, that's good.

Speaker 15 (37:37):
I'm glad.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
I'm glad to hear that you reached out to Lannie.

Speaker 4 (37:39):
I absolutely because I do really like her, and I
did feel bad when I saw that. I was like,
you know, I felt bad because number one, she didn't
deserve it, and you know, I didn't want to shame
her in any way, and things that happened in the
past just happened in the past, right you know, and
you have so many great, amazing things happening. You don't
want that to shadow.

Speaker 14 (37:56):
No, no, And it's not even about a public person.
It's about a Tamar persona. You know how we opened
up this interview and I said I'm proud of me.
I was not proud of me.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
In that moment. I felt like I actually relapsed. I'm
glad that you said that. I hate that. Yeah, me
and Tiny was talking about this last night.

Speaker 14 (38:14):
I was like, yeah, we got beef, and why we
gotta keep it going in a public We don't even
really have beef like we had an incident, right, and
so like, y'all to be honest, where I am in
my life, I don't even have beef like that, you
know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (38:26):
I saw last night. I gave her away. She didn't
give me one bad but at least you know where
she's says, yeah now, and it's okay. She's a tallis
you know, but it's fine with me.

Speaker 14 (38:39):
But you know, just just where I am in my walk, y'all,
I ain't for that. Okay, good, I love it and
now we are celebrating you, and I'm just glad we
had this whole full circle conversation, and I cannot wait
to see you again, you know in Perison.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
One day. We're gonna get you on lip service for real, Yes,
for real, I have it. You know the last time
I tried you guys were out of town.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
Okay, okay, period, Okay, let's we'll figure it out.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
We love. You've got some tricks for us. Well, they
don't just like me for our cookies. A different type
of oven. You know, you're terrible. Shots is kicking in, y'all.
But thank you y'all having this conversation. Okay, we'll see
y'all so well again.
