She now is the founder and CEO of shop at
red bag dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
So since DEI is getting.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Pulled out of everywhere, this is a place where you
can actually purchase items when you don't want to go
into Target.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Now you can go to shop Red Bag.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Okay, that's gonna be a interesting conversation.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
All right, Well, let's get the show started with loving positivity.
Let's shine a light eight hundred and two nine two
fifty one fifty Call us up.
Speaker 2 (01:24):

Speaker 7 (01:47):
Yes, yes, yes, some all social platforms. Thanks for having
me back here. I'm so excited. I had so much
fun last time.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
A very good I'm glad. Well we're gonna shine a
light today.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
I was telling you earlier that I just got back
from Saint Martin with my friends a girl's trip h school,
and I want to shine a light on the woman
Michelle Noles. She's the person that hooked everything up for
me while I was out there. So she's got her
own real estate agency out there. But she's also a developer,
So I love the fact that she's a woman boss
and she's been doing this for over thirty years.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
She's developed properties.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
I actually met her in Montserrat, which is where my
mom is from, where she was going to look at
some developments that are happening out there, which is exciting
for us. But when I tell you she takes care
of every detail, you know how great it is to
have somebody that's from somewhere well, that lives there. She's
not from there, but she's been living there for over
thirty years that can handle every detail, from making sure
we get picked up from the airport. We literally had
(02:38):
a driver on call the whole time. He was amazing.
Shout out to him, and then even setting up like
we went to Nicky Beach for the day. We had
a boat to take us there, and she set up
the reservation for us, made sure we were taken care of,
I mean every detail, to make sure my best friend
from high school's birthday was amazing. I just want to
thank her for that, because you know what it's like
to go on a trip and nothing is planned and
(03:00):
then you don't know what you're doing.
Speaker 7 (03:01):
Oh, I'm the worst vacation player, by the way, Like
I hate having itineraries, but a life act, the best
life act is having a friend just like that for you.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
And let me tell you, my friends were so grateful
and it was like the best trip. So I just
want to thank Michelle. No now, Dale Winder, who do
you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 8 (03:17):
I would like to shine a light on my mother.
Dy'all gonna read the spears of Toledo, Ohio. My mama
is everything that me and my siblings meeting in this world.
Speaker 9 (03:29):
How did you get your name? My daddy name is
Odell William Okay, she was when made me Odette Willen.
So I was lucky that my aunt said, don't do that,
girl like that. And I also would like to shine.
Speaker 10 (03:47):
A light on my sister.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Okay, girl hound Speer's talent.
Speaker 8 (03:52):
We're always stepping up for our family. She takes great
care of our mother and she also takes great care
of our adopted listen.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
We love a great functioning family. So thank you so
much for calling us today and shout out to your mom.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Thank you and your sister. Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 8 (04:09):
Hav a blessed day.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
You too, all right, but that was shining light eight
hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty in case
you couldn't get through. And when we come back, we
have your ee T and we'll discuss Wendy Williams. Apparently
her lawyer is planning to sue. We'll give you the
details on who he's suing and why. It's way up,
they say.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
In the rooms from industry shade to all of gosp
out send angelas feeling that EyeT, it's way.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Up with Angela yea, and I'm here with Cat. Such
a blessing to have you here. It's always a blessing
to be welcome back.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
And let's talk about Wendy Williams.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Her lawyer, Joe Taccapino, is saying that he's planning to
sue whoever is responsible for Wendy's guardianship.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
I know you've been following this, yeah, of course, what
are your thoughts.
Speaker 7 (04:54):
I mean, it's it's crazy because he's so used to,
you know, growing up with Wendy being such a freeze
and just saying whatever she wants. She's really a radio icon.
But man, I hear about these conservatorships and hear about
what Britney Spears went through it all this type of stuff, Like,
it's just crazy. I still don't know how that really works.
You're a grown up, a full adult, Like, how how
does an entire you know, entity have control over you
(05:17):
like that?
Speaker 3 (05:17):
I still I still don't understand.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
Well.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
He and Wendy were celebrating her birthday and he told
the photographer a TMZ this what's next.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
Is hopefully justice. And I'm not a guardianship attorney. I'm
Wendy's personal attorney.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
But this process is really despicably slow because she's in
a facility.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
She's this is a.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
Person who is controller for faculties and it's a great
human being.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
I'm gonna do everything.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I just had a birthday and I'm still in guardianship.
Speaker 6 (05:43):
If that doesn't say enough, I don't know what does.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Yeah, it's really apparently very hard to get out of this.
I wonder if there's anything that you can do, you know,
how you can have like a living will or something
to prevent something like this from ever happening. Yeah, you
know what I mean, we got to look into that.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Definitely all right.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Now Clarissa's shields.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
We're getting ready for her big fight that's happening in
Detroit at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
I'm gonna be out there.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
I know you will support your girl.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
And here's what she has to say.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
I mean, look as I will say this, she don't
run from no fights and from no questions.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Here's what you have to say about Patoo's But I.
Speaker 11 (06:18):
Feel like I put too much time on hold on
having a kid and being married and stuff for boxing.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
We already had a clanned out.
Speaker 11 (06:25):
I'm gonna have a baby next year, and then after
I go through my stuff, then I'll come back and
fight some more and then probably have another one and
then do the same thing again. Like I don't want
to wait till forty three whatever after my career to.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Have my kid. She said this on the Pivot.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it's always different for women, you know, athletes,
because that can you don't even know what type of
toll something like that can take on your body.
Speaker 7 (06:49):
For sure, We've seen them with some of thee athletes
like Serena Williams who have had kids in the prime
of their career come back, you know, and Clarissa's in
the prime of her career right now. Most top tier
female athletes they either wait till career is over or
do it now. So if she can do it, more
power to her. Man that's a woman of superheroes.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
We're seeing the.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Issues that that was in the WNBA with endorsements and
things like that.
Speaker 7 (07:10):
And Collier, all these other people, you know, Angel mccowtree,
like a lot of great athletes I've had to like
put their career on Paul shout out to the FISA.
She went, had a baby and now she's probably gonna
win WNBA MVP this year as well. So it's possible.
It's possible. Boxing's a whole different beast to basketball.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
All right.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Well, Akon speaking of boxing being a different beast, feels
like he can get in to the ring with anyone.
Here's what he had to say about a potential celebrity
boxing match.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Would you ever do a celebrity boxing match?
Speaker 6 (07:37):
What?
Speaker 3 (07:38):
In my sleep?
Speaker 5 (07:39):
I wish it won't be fair.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
There's a reason why he never had no hip hop beef.
But it got to be somebody that disliked me.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Though he said this on the Untold. You think I mean,
it probably depends on who it's agains.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Let's not Hey, listen, I'll never sleep on anybody's hands.
Acon talk is really confident, like he could definitely piece
some people up.
Speaker 7 (07:58):
But remember it's celebrity boxing, so he's going up against
other celebrities. So if he was trying to go up
against like another boxer, like on some Jake Paul stuff,
I don't know if I believe him that much, but
he's sounded confident.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Started with Jake Paul.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yeah, and now look at him.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
All right, Well that is your ut.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
When we come back about last night, that's where we'll
discuss what we did last night. I know you're in
your planning sessions right now, yes, ma'am.
Speaker 11 (08:19):
You know.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
And so we'll talk about that too though, because this
is going to be huge for all you wrestling fans.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
It's way up.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
So about last night, Yes, I went down.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Night, Yes, his way up with Angela yee. I'm here
with my guest host cast today. Yeah, and we're talking
about last night.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Now.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I know you're getting ready for your big event Summer Bash.
Tell us about that.
Speaker 7 (08:42):
Yeah, July thirty one, the Gramsey Theater Summer Bash is
going down it's in the same spread a wily many
an event that we do uh usually just to bring
the vibes to the big wrestling event coming on throughout
the area this week. That weekend we'll be Summer Slam
at MetLife Stadium, So Thursday we will have a wrestling
legend brought the hit Man Heart as our guest of
(09:03):
honor and doing meet and greets and also performings. My
good friend, the One and Only Action Bronson, who's also
a big wrestling fan, incredible performer, has some new music
coming out as well. Shout out to Chase Freedom, shout
out to Link and stop their sponsoring. Come on out
to Gramacy Theater July thirty first, is gonna be super dope.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
You know, I've randomly been to SummerSlam before. That's how
you do that. Barkleys.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yes, yes, yes, the Barclays they used to have as
a huge wrestling fan. It was pretty funny, right because
this little kid was behind us, like standing on his
chair just screaming and like pursing and everything.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
He was probably like seven.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
There is nothing what's going on?
Speaker 2 (09:40):
But it was a great energy. I will say that
absolutely No.
Speaker 7 (09:43):
So, so what makes this super dope? Like the one
he went to in Barclays. It's the first time they're
doing it to night Saturday and Sunday, so we used
to always do it. They're in Wrestlemingium. We felt like,
all right, just feels like the resumate of the summer.
Let's do something Thursday night. Let's get all the fans,
all the friends over here to come hang out, party,
have a good vibe before the law and wrestling weekends.
So those crazy fans that you'll see out there will
(10:03):
probably be there as well.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
It was a good time though. I enjoyed it.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
And then I also want to point out that last
time you were here the next day, the seven PM
in Brooklyn podcast episode with Kat Williams draft Yes, yeah,
ask me about sitting down with Cat Williams.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
And what that was like.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Yo.
Speaker 7 (10:18):
Cat is an absolute force of nature when he walks
into a room right like, he can't be fake. He's
a very intelligent and intense person. But man, that was
probably one of the most fun conversations we've had. And
in the midst of that conversation, you know, he's talking
about his athletic exploits and talking about how he runs
a four point four. So he was like, we can
go downstairs and runner right now. So we were like,
(10:38):
all right, we went downstairs, we raced and I beat him,
not once but twice.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
What yeah four point three.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Listen.
Speaker 7 (10:48):
I know for a fact they don't run a four
point anything. So there might have been a little bit
of exaggeration going on, but I don't let the bigness
fool you. Man, he speak a move a little bit.
I think I'm trying my best.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Was there anything you had to take out of it?
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Man?
Speaker 2 (11:01):
I just wonder that so much.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Man, Oh take out of the interview. Oh yeah, no,
not from the interview. I think about like Gems.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I was like, damn, you took us up?
Speaker 7 (11:11):
What I mean there was There was defe some conversation
that happened before the mikes went on, and I was like, Yo,
everybody heard any of this.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
You do a ten million views?
Speaker 2 (11:20):
You're like, but you know it's not all about that.
Try to keep a positive Well, congratulations, thank you so much.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
Ed.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
You know, I didn't really do much yesterday. I was
it was a beautiful day out, so I walked over
to Central Park. Then I went to go eat a
Jasmine's Caribbean one of my favorite places in the city.
I really walked over to the park because Jasmines didn't
open until four because that was stalling, and then I
went over there and had an amazing luncheon.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
I'll tell you know, it's fire. If they opened in
the afternoon on I'm like.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Yeah, yeah, Jasmin's Caribbean, all right when we come back,
tell us a Secret eight hundred ninety two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 2 (11:51):

Speaker 2 (12:09):

Speaker 5 (12:12):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret, Yo.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
It's way up with Angela yee, I'm here with kaz Man.
I'm good. How are you you?
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Sounds very quiet, so.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
That's my secret voice. Eight hundred two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Me and kas want to hear your secrets. Is a
no judgment zone. What's up, Anonymous? Call it tell us

Speaker 10 (12:33):
I'm not say one sixty three year old studio?
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Oh how old are you?
Speaker 10 (12:40):
I just served them for Friday?
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Okay, so he's thirty, about thirty years older than you.
So how did you guys meet?
Speaker 10 (12:47):
I was the one just so wei and that less
my lead story.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
He picked it up, Okay, so he can at least
bend down.
Speaker 10 (13:00):
Uh No, somebody else outside the store showing him like like.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Truck her down so she could give Is he a
young looking sixty three year old?
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Does he look young?
Speaker 5 (13:17):
So?
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Do you really like him? Or are you just doing this?
Speaker 8 (13:19):
Like?
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Is he you know, giving? Buying you things?
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Got that bread? Is what you want to know?
Speaker 10 (13:25):
Seven months and he treat me so good.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Okay, sometimes you just need that. But you so, he's
just part of the roster.
Speaker 7 (13:38):
No judgment here, but he treated the nicest out of
the out of the entire roster. He's the point guard
right now.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Yeah, got you center.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
The board zone.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
If you had to choose between these three guys, who
would you pick? Okay, she would pick him. You like him?
Does he have kids? They older older than you?
Speaker 10 (14:04):
No?
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Okay, don't lie.
Speaker 10 (14:09):
No, they're not older than me. They we we bought
the same aid.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Okay, alright, how have you met the kids?
Speaker 10 (14:18):
I met one of them trying to me one day.
He came here trying to get some money from Oma.
Speaker 8 (14:26):
Or whatever.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Money I could see why.
Speaker 10 (14:33):
Yeah, I don't, I don't. I never asked Thom for
no money.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
He just give me what I want, so you don't
have to ask. That's what I'm talking about. Okay, Yeah,
would you marry him?
Speaker 6 (14:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (14:48):
So what's the whole up?
Speaker 11 (14:49):
Old?
Speaker 1 (14:51):
He's still by the time, since we studied this conversation,
I was about to say, like time's a ticket all right, Well,
thank you for calling and sharing with us. Yes, the
blessing you too, if you take you shop and get
me something. All right, Well that was tell us a
secret eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty just
(15:13):
in case you couldn't get through, you could always leave
a message and leave a secret that way. And when
we come back, KAS can't wait to talk about this
basketball wives. Okay, ming Lee is now apologizing to Jackie
Christy and we'll tell you why. It all has to
do with that fight that happened between Jackie and Chantell.
You saw that, se Yeah, you do want to talk
about it. Y'all will never talk about this on seven
(15:36):
pm in Brooklyn, but we're going to talk about it here.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
It's way up this pot.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Let's get it, angels feeling that ye tea, Come and
get the tea.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Oh, it's way up with Angela.
Speaker 11 (15:46):
Yee.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
I'm here with Kaz and you ready for.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Some yet I'm ready for they et all great?
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Let me drag you into this Basketball wives? Oh boy,
oh man?
Speaker 1 (15:57):
I mean so you saw the explosive fight that happened
between Jackie Christy and her daughter Chantel, and for a recap,
here is what happened on Basketball Wives.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
I wanted to give you an opportunity to clean your
name up.
Speaker 12 (16:09):
If you say you want to clear my name, Chantel, listen,
do you hear yourself?
Speaker 8 (16:13):
Stop?
Speaker 5 (16:14):
I have zero respect.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
Wants you to get up and leave, zero respect.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Get up and leave my room, zero respect.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
By and you look better?
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Do you look better?
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Do you think the situation?
Speaker 12 (16:24):
Because I'm sitting here looking you know, if you don't
get and you look as a mother.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Now, don't you tell me.
Speaker 13 (16:32):
You out?
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Oh my goodness, now listen.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
After this happened, I was wondering what reactions would be
and it feels like a lot of people are siding
with Jackie as a mother. People are like, I would
never talk to my mom like that. I would never
put my hands on my mother.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
You know.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
There's been a lot of.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Talk about Jackie and her parenting, and her other daughter,
Tokari even came to her defense and said, she doesn't
even know our mom. If she did, she would only
try to protect her. She didn't deserve to be done
like this on her platform. That's all I have to
say about this.
Speaker 7 (17:02):
What do do you think when you I'm know, I'm
conflicted because right like, don't I don't watch a ton
of basketball wives. When I found out Jackie Christy was
on the show, I'm like, all right, that's the one
basketball wife I do know because her reputation sort of
perceives itself of being an intense person.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
Right So the first time I see that, I'm like,
you can't be slapping every kid on TV.
Speaker 7 (17:21):
But then I'm like, all right, I'm an eighties baby,
right Like if I'm not, you know, we've all had
our mom go upside I head once upon a time,
you know, so you gotta talk to your parents in
a certain way, especially if you know your mama, Like,
I know my mama, I would.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Never think about doing that, but you know it's Chantelle.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
On her behalf posted on social media, she said, I'll
start by saying, if you've never dealt with the toxic mother,
then you truly have no idea what it feels like.
It's painful as it's been the West East moments of
my life play out on TV. I know my younger
self is proud of the woman who finally stood up
for herself. And then she said, narcissm, jealousy, lies, lack
of accountability, gas lighting, abuse, hiding assault, We're just taught
(18:04):
to keep it in house and suffering silence.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
I chose to break that cycle.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
Yeah that I was saying that too, because there were
certain people who sided with Chantel, But those people talked
about having toxic mothers and what that's like, So they
definitely need to get some outside.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
Help for sure.
Speaker 7 (18:23):
It's definitely a hard thing to address too, especially on
national television and speaking.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
You know, we do.
Speaker 7 (18:29):
We are taught to keep it in house. We are
taught to be like, oh, well, you know, that's just
how we grew up. But like, at the end of
the day, like that is not normal. That is not
good behavior to have time.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Oh my gosh, imagine if it's not on TV what
it's like now.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Another thing that happened on the episode, a lot of
the women were rallying behind Chantell.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Right well.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Ming Lee has since apologized on social media. She said, Jackie,
I'm gonna keep it real. After watching last night's episode
and thinking back to how everything played out in real time,
I owe you an apology. If anything I said or
did came off offensive, that was never my intention. I
was under the impress and you swung first, and that
shaped how I saw it. But watching it back for you,
it hit different. I don't condone violence at all, and
it was hard to watch as a mom. I understand
(19:08):
where your emotions were coming from.
Speaker 7 (19:09):
Man, I, like I said, this is a very conflicting
thing because Jackie Christie's reputation sort of precedes yourself as
this like intense, in your face sort of woman. And
then you know, you see in this clip. I'm the
same way. Like I saw the clip and I thought, oh,
it's Jackie Christy wild again. But it's it's not as
cut and dry and as simple as it is. Man
mother daughter relationships especially as explosive as this one. I
(19:31):
just feel bad for all parties involved. I hope they can,
you know, Kumbaya and Wusan come together and you know,
be a loving family unit once again.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
But that is that is tough to watch.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
All right, Well, that is your YIETI.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
When we come back, we have under the radar stories
in real life is like a movie Jeffrey.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Epstein and Donald Trump. What is the connection.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
There's some never before seen photos that everyone's talking about.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Big news, way.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
News in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
It's way up at Angela. Yee. I'm here with my
guy Caz.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Oh my gosh, I was just showing our producer a
video of a huge rat in the toilet that somebody
posted on social media.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
He doesn't think it's real.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
I can't trust anything with AI, but that looked.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
Pretty yeah, and then it went and then when the
person closed it, lit of the toilet and then opening
it back up, you can see.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
The rat going back into the toilet.
Speaker 6 (20:24):
Gosh.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
I just I just I think it's rare. Everybody thinks
everything's not real, but that okay.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
But anyway, speaking of thinking things ain't real, let's talk
about Donald Trump.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Now.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
They have these never before seen photos of Donald Trump
and Jeffrey Epstein at his nineteen ninety three wedding to
Marlon Maples. According to these pictures, it looks like he
was definitely there. Okay, this was in December nineteen ninety
three at the Plaza Hotel in New York, and you
can see that, Yes, indeed, Jeffrey Epstein was there.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
I wonder how we've never seen these before.
Speaker 7 (20:59):
And I don't know why we're sitting here trying to
act like it didn't happen. That's his that's your men's
bro Like we saw all of this before, a before photoshop,
like we know what you used to look like.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
That was you.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
And a lot of people are obviously talking about Donald
Trump's relationship with Epstein because of these files that he
had promised would be released for during his presidency. But
now he's saying they don't exist, and so, you know,
we'll see what happens. But it's they're getting a lot
of backlash. And I know we were talking about this earlier,
how people have a longer break now, right.
Speaker 7 (21:34):
So they shut down the Congress or the Senate into
September so they could invent a vote from releasing these
Epstein the most egregious cover up we've probably seen in
our government in such a long time. Like, bro, like,
what do we what are we really doing out here?
What is going to be in these files? That's so
so protected?
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Now, CNN managed to get Donald Trump on the phone
and confronted him about these images of him and Jeffrey Epstein,
and after just thirty seconds on the call, he hung up.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
And he also said fake news. Can you believe this?
Speaker 3 (22:10):
I could, actually I could at this point. Yeah, that tracks,
That's that's part for the course.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
But I also want to say I don't think it matters. No,
I don't think that his base cares. And you know,
people are still making excuses.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
You think it does matter. I mean, yeah, he's definitely
said they're not gonna do nothing. They're still going to
rally up behind him, for sure.
Speaker 7 (22:29):
I've seen a lot of people definitely turn having a
bout face on how they felt about him, especially since
this whole thing is dropped at the end of the day,
Like unless some actual change happens, Like you said, I don't.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Be people caring that, but I want them to care.
I want them to, you know what.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
I wish they would care about the things that he's
saying about President Barack Obama. Yeah, you know, And even
Barack Obama had to finally respond to these outrageous, you know, claims.
And I mean, this is ridiculous the way that he
comes at people, and no one thinks that's wrong. They're
upset about these files, but they're not upset about the
disrespect that he shows.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Well, no, that's that's in the Trump bag.
Speaker 11 (23:04):
Man.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
He goes to that bag, that Obama bag, every time
he needs to, every time he needs.
Speaker 7 (23:07):
To distract people from anything he's got going on or
something that's happened to him. He's like Obama, he is,
he moves the election election, he's not a real American,
all these other things.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
And Obama had to put out a response out of
respect for the office. We don't normally dignify the constant
nonsense and misinformation, but he said, these claims are outrageous
enough to merit one. They're ridiculous and weak attempt at distraction.
And so he says that Russia worked to influence the
presidential election in twenty sixteen, but did not successfully manipulate
(23:37):
any votes, and this was affirmed in a twenty twenty
report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee. So all right,
well that is you're under the radar. We do have
the Way Up mixt of the top of the hour.
It's also a Wealth Wednesday and Candy Carter it's going
to be joining us. You know, we're talking about this presidency.
One thing they did did was try to get rid
of all DEI initiatives.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
And in light of that, shot red Bag exists with
tell you about it. It's way up.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
She's like to talk like they Angela Jean, like they
angel Jean Man.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
She's spilling it all. This is yeaky, way up.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Yeah, it's way up at Angela.
Speaker 7 (24:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
I'm here with my guest host cats By today and
let's get into this yet. So The Truth about Jesse
Smoley is a new documentary on Netflix that premieres on
August twenty second.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
This is not over Guys, Justice for Juicy Love.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
It has interviews with please lawyers, journalist, you're a journalist,
Yes I am, and investigators who say they have new
evidence about the case. And it's going to tell the
quote shocking true story of an allegedly fake story.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
That some now say might just be a true story.
Speaker 7 (24:41):
Man, I feel like this is the story that will
never sort of go away. But listen, if it did,
what to his reputation, what happened to him before? I
hope it's true. I hope we kind of get like
a full story about what this is, because it's still
weird even thinking about what happens.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Well, according to book Club Chica to Black Club Chica,
I go Jesse smole A toold the group of community
leaders that they found the actual footage of the people
that jump me, and it just corroborates every single thing
that I said for the last almost seven years.
Speaker 5 (25:10):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (25:10):
Yeah, I mean he's kind of been the butt of
a lot of jokes for a long time because of it.
So if my career is going to suffer, if our
reputation is going to suffer, and I'm gonna be a
bit of a joke, yeah, I'm not gonna let it
go either, right, Yes, good good on him, man, I'm interested.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
I want to see what was what new evidence?
Speaker 12 (25:25):
Son you?
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Yeah, and South Park Creator's got a one point five
billion dollar deal to bring that show to Paramount Plus
to stream that so they have the global streaming rights
one point five billion dollars.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Worth every penny. One of the greatest shows of all time,
still Cooking, and.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
They get away with a lot on that show.
Speaker 7 (25:44):
We need we need South Park in this day and age,
man like, we need that type of satire that we
can all watch.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Yeah, what I realized is as a cartoon character, you
can say whatever you want.
Speaker 7 (25:52):
Yeah, because it's cartoon. If you gotta find it out
a cartoon and you're you're the idiot.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
So good for them, and get ready for this at
Power prequel exploring the origin story of Ghosts and Tommy.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
There's an eight eighteen episode order at Stars. It's called
Power Origin.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
See for everybody that was upset about any of the
Power franchises coming to an end, They're saying, this is
gonna be an exploration of a new time period and
the Power franchise that will highlight the unbridled audacity of
young men on the right determined to become legends in
the game.
Speaker 7 (26:23):
Man shout out fifty never in my life that I
think were the first time I saw Power. There'd be
four spin offs in new episode. Yeah, they put that
entire network on their back. I don't even know what
else is on Stars. I just know they got Power
and maybe some movies.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
There you go, and what Magic City is gonna shout out?
Magic City is coming to Stars. Shout out gg.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Yeah, shout out shout out JD. That's gonna be great. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
And JD is gonna be on lip Service. It's out now.
It just came out yesterday.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
He's gonna be on Brooklyn too very soon.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Okay, and not so now.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Doesn't that Fat Jim has a story coming out to
the Book of Jose. Isn't that coming out to What network?
Speaker 11 (27:02):
Is that on?
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (27:03):
But anyway, Yeah, he was on Joe and Jada and
he had special guests Nori and dj e f N
from Drink Champs, and he talked about the problem that
he has with soda.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Listened to this, I drink.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Too many diapects.
Speaker 9 (27:17):
I got a problem thirty forty a day saying if
I went to the go for bit and they told me, well,
we have a problem due.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
To diapeptsy, I gotta take on the chip.
Speaker 8 (27:28):
I gotta just do.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
I knew I was just doing too much with the diapets.
Speaker 7 (27:35):
Let me say something about Joe. This is exactly why
he's a fantastic podcast. This is exactly why, because he
tells He tells great stories, and there's always a little
bit about it where you're.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
Just like, no way, can you drink thirty to forty soda?
Is the day?
Speaker 1 (27:52):
I actually asked Chad GBT yeah this question, and they
said that would be highly dangerous.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Even more than two or three a day is dangerous.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
Isn't just watching that podcast? He didn't drink enough die
cokes during that podcast to justify thirty or forty die
cokes a day.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
But that's Joe.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
That's why he shows PEPSI. I don't know what type
of deal he has. Don't want to, you know, mess
up the best and they show the Booga Jose. His
series is actually coming from BT Studios.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
It's him and Kenya Barris doing it.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Oh all right, love Bears, All right, Well that is
your yet when we come back, ask yee eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty. I know you got
some questions that me and Cass, who is by the way,
an acclaimed journalist, Yeah, can answer eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty. Maybe you're a mutt and you
don't want to be anymore.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
It's way up.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
Everybody sens with its relationship for career advice, Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
This is ask Kee what's up?
Speaker 1 (28:47):
His way up at Angela? Yee, I'm here with my
guest host cast today. You ready to get some advice?
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Let's do it all right? Well, we have Mason on
the line. What's up?
Speaker 5 (28:56):
What pp?
Speaker 8 (28:57):
How y'all doing good?
Speaker 3 (28:58):
How are you doing good?
Speaker 8 (28:59):
Mason for taking me out with this?
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Okay, what's the question?
Speaker 8 (29:03):
Well, a group of my boys we went to the
r you know, Fella's trips, and one of my boys
didn't go. We didn't really include him, We didn't tell him.
He's a hot head. We love him. But when he
gets a few you know, drinks in him and he's
surrounded by girls and other people, he's embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Look, it's not that he didn't go. He wasn't invited
there you go.
Speaker 8 (29:32):
Yeah, but you know, people in the group that went
started posting about it. He hit me up and he
was like, how come no one told me about it?
So he started, you know, questioning me. I don't know
how to break it to him that he's the problem
and he wants to talk to me.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
He wants to have a one on one with me
later and I'm a little bit nervous, right, he gonna
beat that ass, Okay.
Speaker 7 (29:56):
So first word of advice is make sure you talk
to him in the communal space. So if you don't
while out there's witnesses that you like see is exactly.
But definitely have an example, man like. You want to
make sure you have a clear cut example of wise behavior.
It's detrimental to the friend group. Man Like, I've had
definitely lots of guy friend god trips where you know,
(30:19):
ninety percent of us are great, and is that one
ten percent?
Speaker 1 (30:21):
When we was like, man, now we got to come
to your defense. Now we're all in a fight. Now
we all kicked out the club. Now we're all getting sued, right,
you know? And Kaz is right, like, have some specific
times that you could bring up where it was like, look,
remember when this happened, or when you did this, and
when you did that, and you have to let him know,
like we love you, but on a trip, you are
a liability. And listen, I had a friend like that
(30:44):
and I could not invite her to this birthday trip
I had because a you know, there were celebrities there.
I didn't want her to act, and she she would
like try to get the person's number, you know, dude,
yeah yeah, And then she also the rest of my
friends were literally like, if she comes, I'm not coming.
Speaker 7 (30:58):
Damn right.
Speaker 8 (31:00):
You think I should bring up like the age, Like, Bro,
you know you're not in your twenties anymore. You know
you gotta kind of grow up. We can have some fun,
but you know, let's be mindful about what you say
and how you say it. You think I should bring
that up?
Speaker 7 (31:12):
Absolutely, man, Men have the benefit of brutal honesty within
one another.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
If those are your boys, you should be able to say, yo,
you're my man's.
Speaker 11 (31:23):
I like you.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
I love hanging out with you, but you're getting old, bro,
Like we can't like we got bills, like.
Speaker 7 (31:28):
We got families, we got responsibilities, Like getting in the
fights in dr is not my idea of a good time.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
From there.
Speaker 7 (31:37):
Lastly we want to do is have to you know,
square up for you outside of international waters that we
don't know when the hell we coming back home like this,
that's a real thing that you gotta deal with.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
I agree, and look, if there's an issue with maybe
he drinks too much. That might be something too that
it's like we care about you and you know, let's
figure out, like, you know, what can we do to
work on that is something going on?
Speaker 8 (31:57):
Yeah, maybe we should say both pay for the drink.
A lot of time he paid for the drinks and
he just want to have a good time. But oh
it's not always beneficial.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
So that's why you like him.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
There you go, see you're in love with that.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Oh yeah, Bury you.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
All right, well, thank you for calling good luck communal
space until he paid for the drink?
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Love with that?
Speaker 2 (32:21):
All right?
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Well that was asked yee eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty in case you couldn't get through.
And when we come back, it's a Wealth Wednesday. Candy
Carter is going to be joining us talking about her
shopredbag dot Com. Candy's an Emmy Award winning television producer
and you also know her from The Oprah Winfy Show,
The View, The Tammin Hall Show. Now she's got a
new ventor. She's stepping out as an entrepreneur. It's way up.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
I had a dream of wealthy and I don't mind
sharing my wealth.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
Dog getting you straight financially, mentally, and physically. This is
Wealth Wednesday on way Up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
What's up? Its way up with Angela yee. This is
exciting for me. On this Wealth Wednesday, I got my
girl Stacy Tisdale.
Speaker 12 (33:00):
Happy Wealth Wednesday's everybody, and we are so excited. We
are going to talk shopping, we are going to talk uplifting,
we are going to talk everything because we have the city.
Candy Carter with us today. Hello, Hello, thank you so
much for being here. Candy is a former major television
executive Emmy Award.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
Winning multiple Emmy Award winning.
Speaker 12 (33:20):
She was the senior producer of a show you might
have heard of called The Oprah Winfrey Show. She was
executive producer of the View. She was executive producer of
The Tameron Hall Show. And then she said, stop, I
am going into e commerce.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
What happened? Girl?
Speaker 6 (33:36):
I know, right? Hi? I havn't you.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Yes, it's a pleasure.
Speaker 6 (33:39):
I'm a huge fan. I've listened to you for years
and years and years, and let me just say, from
one listen to another, I'm so happy to see you
having your own platform.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Hallelujah, thank you.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
That is good.
Speaker 6 (33:49):
I absolutely love it. So, as you said, I was
an executive producer of the View and Tamaran. While I
was there, I was doing shoppable content. So on the View,
if you watch that show right now, there's a second
called View Your Deal. I was in charge of that
for all the years I was there. It is very
lucrative to sell products in content. And so when I
(34:09):
took over for the tammeron Hall show, we launched tamfam Deals.
And so while I was doing that, the company I
brought in I ended up joining. And that's how I
kind of moved out of the day to day show
running and moving to the other side because I was
already doing it.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Right now, it's at Wealth Wednesday, and I got Stacy
Tisdale here, we are talking to Candy Carter, the founder
of shopread bag dot com.
Speaker 12 (34:31):
That was still quite a pivot and we're going to
get into all the shopping and shopbread Bag. What was
that like to go from that type of a career
into entrepreneurship because so many people are, you know, on
the fence.
Speaker 6 (34:42):
Don't make that turn. What made you?
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Because that's a dream job and people's eyes they're like
executive producer, like just those positions that you would win
Emmy Award. Winning that's a big step out on faith
and a risk.
Speaker 6 (34:54):
It's a big step on faith. I always say, I'm
that chick that jumps off the building and I just
know the parachutes coming. I've never hit the ground, just
so we're clear. So I always say I turned nothing
down but my collar. And that's the truth. So you know,
for me, I see opportunity and it's exciting for me.
I don't get scared until after, and then I'm like,
oh Lord.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
Right, I tell you what did I do?
Speaker 6 (35:16):
But I will tell you every time I've taken the leap,
I've leaped higher and higher and higher. And so for me,
one of my girl up, my best friend, lives in
Katar and we talk every day, and she said to me, Candy,
when you are anxious about something, she goes, go to
the worst case scenario and back into it.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
So the worst case.
Speaker 6 (35:34):
Scenario for me is I got to move home.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (35:36):
Fortunately I have parents who if I had to, I
could live with them. That's the worst case scenario. And
I like them, so if that's it, and I would
love that.
Speaker 8 (35:44):
Right, I do that too.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
I'm always like the worst thing that could happen is
it doesn't work out. That's the worst case scenario. And
you know what, I feel like, things that I've done
that haven't worked have been really huge lessons for me.
It's been a great education. You make some great relationships
along the way. They never know what's going to end
up coming further on down.
Speaker 6 (36:01):
You don't know who you're talking to. Ever, when you
open a door, you don't know what's behind that door.
And most of the times it's something that can be
uplifting for you and lightning helpful. And I'm fifty six
years old, so I started this two years ago and
I'm learning. Literally I've gotten an MBA in the last
two years.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Candy Carter is here, the Emmy Award winning television producer
and also the founder of shop redbag dot com. We're
talking about DEI and how she can make sure that
you shop with intention.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
We have more when we come back. It's way up.
Speaker 7 (36:32):
I had a dream of lifting wealthy and I don't
mind sharing my wealth.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Dog getting you straight financially, mentally and physically. This is
wealth Wednesday on Way Up with Angelaee.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
What's up His way Up at the Angela Yee Stacy
Tisdale is here with me because it's a Wealth Wednesday,
and we have Candy Carter, the founder of Shop red
Bag here.
Speaker 12 (36:50):
Explain to people what it is.
Speaker 6 (36:51):
Okay, So Shop red Bag is an online store. If
you are boycotting Target, Walmart, any of the things, you
can now go to Shop Red Bag and you can
buy the things that you'll find in a retailer. But
here's the hitch. These are all brands that fall under
the DEI umbrella. So if you just want to shop
black owned brands, hit browse categories, go to black owned brands.
(37:11):
You want to shop women own brands, shop women own brands,
veteran own brands, disability, LGBTQ, i A. We all have
to come together right now because all of these diverse
groups are creating really high quality products, which I'll talk
about some of the brands that are in the store
in a bit, and we have to be able to
support them because guess what, the big retailers don't want us, right,
(37:32):
but we have to change our habits.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
I agree with that.
Speaker 6 (37:35):
That means if you're at home and you need some
toilet paper, you have to consciously say I'm gonna go
to shop Red Bag and buy some toilet paper. It's
like losing weight. You ain't gonna lose weight if you don't.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Me a plan. Let's add out to Royal Flesh, Black
own brands.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
Yes, and we have Leafy is Angela's favorite show.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
And I know Juneteenth was a special day. It's not much.
Speaker 6 (37:57):
Yes, and we have Leafy, which is a black owned
bamboo bamboo tilet paper.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
That's only the best way butt. But you're also really
expanding the definition of diversity, which.
Speaker 6 (38:06):
Absolutely absolutely because here's the thing. Look at the country
we're in. We all have to come together. So as women,
we have to come together. My husband's a veteran, my
child has a disability, Like I'm all the things.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
I'm a black girl.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
Right now, it's at Wealth Wednesday, and I got Stacy
Tisdale here. We are talking to Candy Carter, the founder
of Shop read bag dot com. If somebody is a
founder right now, or they have a product that they
would like to get on Shop red Bag, how can
they make that happen and what's the process?
Speaker 6 (38:36):
Go to shop red bag dot com and scroll down
and able to say are you a brand?
Speaker 3 (38:40):
We need to know about it?
Speaker 2 (38:40):
Let me do that now she.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
Is.
Speaker 12 (38:45):
What are some of the things you're looking for from entrepreneurs.
Speaker 6 (38:47):
One of the things you'll see in shop Red Bag
is that we really wanted to do practical items to
just get people there. So you can buy toilet paper,
cleaning supplies, dental stuff. We have and I want to
tell you about some of the first that are is okay,
let us know. Let's see African American expression. So that's
greeting cards, journals, bags, and umbrellas. They're the largest black
owned gift company in the country.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
Afro Unicorn, I love harr Where's my unicorn?
Speaker 6 (39:12):
Afro Unicorn. So she's got children's bed sets unicorns with
the Afros. She's the first black woman to have a
brand in retail.
Speaker 9 (39:23):
Right here.
Speaker 6 (39:24):
Beautyi is one of the best vitamin C SERMs on
the market, and it's a brother. Ron Robinson is a
black chemist. Thirty plus years he was formulating for Clinique
Laurel Revlon Avon in the store. That's what I'm saying,
there's quality stuff.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Is there an approval process for entrepreneurs who are trying
to sign their business up on Red Bag?
Speaker 6 (39:46):
You know a lot of times it really comes down
to the margins. You know, there has to be a
certain margin to come into the store. We don't charge
anything and we're doing free shipping. So we have to
figure out a way that the brand can offer free
shipping because metically, for a lot of smaller brands, the
pricing is slightly higher, so we're not asking them to discount,
and so we're doing free shipping so that we can
(40:07):
get people to come and shop. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
No, that's a fact.
Speaker 6 (40:10):
Yeah, and it's not going to work for everybody. But
I'm here to support brands. I want to give this
platform to the brands. I'm a black owned, woman owned
business and we're all women.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
And congratulations, it's amazing, So everybody supports Please.
Speaker 6 (40:23):
I'm grateful to be on this platform.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
