Speaker 1 (00:01):
Wind Down with Janet Kramer and I'm Heeart Radio podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
All Right, So recap Season thirteen, episode eleven. The theme
is soundtrack of My Life all the Top five performing
more than a Feeling by Boston.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
I love Boston.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
I always forget about Boston, like I know the song
and it's just such a such a good one. So
Detective Lucky Duck reveals one of the mass contestants has
stolen something from Robin who the first step to perform
was chorl and her soundtrack is Avril Levine. They Coral

(00:41):
and the BFF met during an audition. They met six
years ago. Chemistry, the whole thing. She sang skater Boy
by Avri Levine, which is such an iconic song.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Yeah yeah, what's the Rise of the Hoodies for women?
And that?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Oh yeah, for sure, Robin Gasnino da brev Ken, said
Ashley Tisdale.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Rita said Hillary Duff.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Uh, And I mean, I I still have no clue,
but I love all those guesses.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
I love Coral. She can obviously sing your thoughts.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
I don't know, I.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Don't I really don't know, Hillary Duff, I don't think so,
Nina doubrev Possibly, I just always kind of delve into
the clues. I like the clue of her parents influenced
the soundtrack in the life.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
Yeah, I like when people dedicate.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Stuff to the influence of the parents. But it still
doesn't make me anymore. You're on her is, so I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Well, she's got a great voice, so love her second
upis to perform? Was Nassy Blue's daughter. I mean, such
a dead giveaway, so good daughter finds her cringe constantly
posting social Uh, Nessy's daughter is the one who had
influenced Nessi's soundtrack to his life. So again, I think

(02:09):
it's sweet that the theme of this is soundtracked of
my life.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
And uh, you know who this is?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah it's Edwin McCain.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Yeah, but that do you know who? That's who it was.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
I started to think of the love songs. That was
a good clue. But also I started to he has
sang some amazing love songs, I mean, so good, and
we have a friend that works with him.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Yeah me, ma'am, oh, I'm ma'am. You actually you've obviously.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Ma'am Edwin McCain in like passing.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Yeah, no, it's had the conversation when at least you did.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Oh where was I?

Speaker 4 (02:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah, but great guy, but they guessed. Robin guess Edwain McCain,
Jenny's and Uncle Cracker can so John Popper, but such
a such a good voice. Third up deform was Boogie Woogie.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
He was the weakest.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
I think he's always great, but I think it was sweet.
His wife helped shape the soundtrack of his life, lost
his mother and channel grief into writing. Has inspired his
wife's music. His song about grief has helped so many others.
And he's sang Golden ar by Jake. And then the
fourth up to perform was Pearl Clues with Son in
Law suntrack to Her Life. Oh by the way, sorry,

(03:30):
Boogie Woogie, Who I think it is? I still think
it's Andy Grammer, Jenny said Brandon Flowers, Robin said Daniel Powder,
and Rita said Charlie Pooth. But I still am thinking
it's Andy Grammer.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
So okay, I'll go yo guess.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
TVD on that fourth up de reform was Pearl Clues
son in Law soundtrack to her Life is Love Songs
because daughter is about.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
To get married. That's so sweet.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
They sang your Love by the Outfield Jenny, says Brandy
Carlisle Robin said Bonnie Tyler. Rita said, why not a Judd?
I still am thinking it's Gretchen Wilson, but maybe when
I don't know, I'm trying to think, why not a Judd?

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Her daughter? But I won't even ask you.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
You're so much more to educated than the music. But
to me, like, what's the point in me guess? And
if you'll get if you guess is Gretchen.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Wilson, it could be something different. It could be well,
I'm gonna have my bet so on you've gotten much
more you'd like to hear on her as well?

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Fits up to form was the mad Scientist? Monster clues
was his wife, Monster's wife loves Coldplay? Wife and the
babies miss him, summer break uh, and he's saying party anthem. Oh,
he's saying the Scientist by Coldplay. And guesses were Gary LeVaux,
who's on Rascal flats Ken, said Kane Brown.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Rita said, Jelly roll.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
These guesses are now throwing me off because I always
thought that the Mad Scientist was Ronnie Dunn. So I'm
a little thrown off by these. I'm still now I'm
just confused, really, I'm being super honest.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
You've been hauled on that since the one running them.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
But now I'm incredibly confused.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
So the revealing person that went home, though Nessie is
going home. The last clue is Celtic not it symbolizes
eternal love and Robin guest Edwin McCain, Jenny said, Johnny
Resnick Ken said, John Popper, Rita said, Dave Matthews and
and Nessie is Edwin McCain. And unfortunately our schedules could

(05:37):
not get Edwin McCain on today's podcast. But we do
have a rock legend from season ten on The Mass Singer.
But some of you might recognize him most from his
role in Gilmore Girls. We have Sebastian Bach. Let's get
him on.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Hello, there we go, I mean, let's go.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Hair, I have the same hoodie and I love it.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
Yes, you know what this is.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
It's so good.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I was actually going to ship it to someone that
we know that doesn't want people to talk to them,
so it was you know, yes, it's such a good sweatshirt.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
So so then let me if people don't know what
this is, this is what all the contestants on The
Masked Singer have to wear. During the rehearsals.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
For those that can't see it, says, don't talk to me?
Is the sweatshirt that people have to wear?

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Yeah, and it's.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Such a tough isn't that? Don't did you find that piece?
I mean, are you naturally? Are you an introvert or
an extrovert?

Speaker 5 (06:55):
I'm definitely not an introvert.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I mean I can tell, but I sometimes performers they're
actually introverts, you know, those that seem.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
I have an ability to shut it all off when
I'm at home, which I need to do sometimes because
last year or the year before between the two, I
did ninety one shows last year twenty twenty four, and
I also shot The Mass Singer the summer before that,

(07:27):
and also The Worst Cooks in America. I went right
from Mass Singer to Worst Cooks in America, Like I
went from LA to New York and I was shooting
those shows for a couple months.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Were you the worst cook in America?

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Well? I might not have been the worst cook in America,
but I might have been the second worst.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Then I must be number one or three, one of
the three.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
So wait, where's home for you?

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Are you in Las Vegas?

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Okay? Love?

Speaker 6 (08:01):
That.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
So okay, So are you because now that Gilmore Girls
is on Netflix, are you is there a younger generation
because I find that with you know, a lot of shows,
they're something that you've been on when you were younger,
and then they're like, they're the younger generation is watching
these shows now. So do you have people that recognize
you from from Gilmore Girls that are the younger younger group?

Speaker 5 (08:24):
Well, yeah, I have. I get recognized for different things
in different parts of town. Like if it's a rock club,
it's skid Row, if it's the mall, it's Gilmore Girls.
And if it's Canada, it's Trailer Park Boys that show, Yeah, Australia,

(08:48):
That's what I get recognized for in Canada for sure.
When I'm walking around the streets and when people hear
me talk, they go, oh, it's trailer they can't even
believe it, like they.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Love that is that is that.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
I watched a few years ago and it is hilarious, Really,
it's hilarious.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
What is that? It's about dudes selling weed and smoking
hash and.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Put the eleven a trailer park and it's just it's
like Calamity after Calamity and it's just the cast that.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Excellent, so funny.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
How big was your part?

Speaker 4 (09:25):
And the Angila Pop Boys? Did you come on?

Speaker 5 (09:28):
Seven? Seven seasons of Trailer Park Boys. I'm on a
lot of those shows, and I think my favorite, well,
I have two favorite episodes, but one of them is
we had a party in Hollywood that ended up on
the on like in uh, you know, Marina del Rey,

(09:48):
where I had a boat and we took the party
on the boat and the party was so wild that
we woke up in Amsterdam, Holland we had the whole
world in this boat in the ocean, like underneath Mexico
and up through Easter to America, and we woke over, whoa,

(10:10):
We're in Amsterdam and the Trailer Park Boys were there
to meet us, and hilarity ensued. But that was really fun.
But if they're talking about a younger crowd, I my
song is in the New Minecraft movie the very beginning

(10:30):
for like a minute and a half and it's me
singing the song I Remember You, our big hit, and
it's it's the lead tune in the New Minecraft movie,
and all my cousin's kids are freaking out, like going
to the theater going. I started screaming when I heard

(10:52):
you singing, and so that's so cute.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
My kids went and saw it with their dad, yes,
last week, So I didn't. I didn't see it. But
I'm not like the my craft. Yeah, I'm like, I
always let my ex husbands take those movies. And then
I'm like, can I get like the snow Whites and
those ones?

Speaker 5 (11:09):
Yes, but that's making me. That's cool, very cool. In
my family, My all my little nieces and nephews are
freaking out about so cool.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Give me one of your best stories or moments from
touring back in the eighties or just or being out
with you know, maybe another band, like did you guys
like who is your biggest rival? Like, give me something
that's that's some good tea from back in the day.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
Well, there's a lot of I mean, I don't even
know where to begin with that. Where are you from? Dude?
Where are you from? Your accent is at what where
are you from?

Speaker 4 (11:52):
From? Scotland?

Speaker 5 (11:53):
Originally my grandpa was born in the fifth the fifth
and fifth? Oh was it really the Firth and fourth?
Is that what it is?

Speaker 6 (12:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (12:05):
You go, Firth and fourth. Yeah, Well, let me talk
about Scotland because the first time I played Scotland. We
opened up for Motley Crue at the Edinburgh Playhouse right downtown.
That was nineteen eighty nine, and that was very memorable

(12:28):
for me because my grandpa was from Scotland. So we
had a day off before that show in Edinburgh's and
so me and Tommy Lee's drum tech Clyde the Spide,
that was his name. He's on the back of the
records and stuff. We went to the Castle on the
Hill to see the armor the you know, you know

(12:51):
what I'm talking about. It was incredible. But in nineteen
eighty nine, all the armor, the midst century Knights in
Shining armor, it was all on display in that castle.
And then I went back in nineteen ninety five and
it was all gone and I said, where's all the

(13:12):
Knights in Shining armor? And they explained to me, but
that was so precious as a national historical artifact that
they don't let the public see it anymore. So I
felt so lucky that I was there, dude, in eighty
nine with the real knights and the shriking armor, and

(13:33):
I have it on video and stuff. I felt very
I was like, well, I was here, you know, six
years ago, like so whatever, like, did you like Scotland?
I love Scotland. And I remember another memory. We were
there for a couple of days and me and my
guitar tech went to see this movie called Bad Parents

(13:53):
or something right near the Edinburgh playoffs. It was the
movie where they like feed their kids meet. Do you
remember that movie? It's like, oh, really messed up movie,
but it was like a big movie. Somebody out there
knows what I'm talking about. They're like serving this meet anyways. Yes,

(14:16):
in Scotland, Yes, blood pudding, blood pudding.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Do you because now you're doing solo stuff right?

Speaker 5 (14:37):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (14:37):
So do you miss being in a band or wasn't.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
It kind of your decision to.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
I'm still in a band. You know, it's my band.
If there's any decisions to be made, I have a
meeting with myself, and I tend to agree with myself,
so it makes things easier. No. I mean, here's the deal.
It's hard to come up with an iconic band name.

(15:05):
So the name skid Row everybody knows that name, and
my name Sebashi and Bob people know that pretty much too.
So I never knew that I didn't own the name
skid Row. I thought I did. I was very naive,
very young, very drunk.

Speaker 6 (15:23):
But.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
I thought I owned that, but it turns out I didn't.
So as soon as I found out that I didn't
own that, I trademarked my own name and I made
a logo of that. And so that's it's a business thing, really,
you know. And you know I looked to Ozzy Osbourne
or Neil Young or David Lee Roth or guys that

(15:46):
have done solo careers, and you know, I would go
see Ozzy. I love Neil Young. So there's Willie Nelson.
I mean, look at my hair. You know, in thirty
years I'll be Willie on my bus, puffing my smoke,
having a good show.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
Do you see you?

Speaker 6 (16:06):
Just?

Speaker 3 (16:07):
I mean you?

Speaker 2 (16:08):
I mean, because I mean Willie Jeezy's still out there,
you know. So it's like, do you do you want
to just be touring until you know, like you want
to just do it, like there's no like stopping you.

Speaker 6 (16:18):
Well, I come, I come from the old school where
I know how to warm up my voice knock on wood,
and I know how to make it work, Like I
don't need to have tapes rolling.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
I don't even have a click track. Sometimes I jam
with bands and I put the ears on, It's like,
I go, turn that fucking shit off, Like I don't
want to hear that. I don't, that's not that's not
pleasing to my ear. I just want to hear this song.
I'm really old school in that way. So you know,

(16:52):
a guy like Willie ninety one with a new record
on tour, Yes, yes, I do see myself in that way.
I do. I think if I would. I'm fifty seven
years old now, so I think if I was going
to lose my voice, it would have already started happening.

(17:12):
And I don't. You can hear my new record and
that's not a concern for me.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Yeah, I love that. I mean, well, you know.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
You can hear the Mass Singer. Like the Mass Singer,
I got to sing. The thing I liked about the
Mass Singer is that it was really about singing. Yeah,
so they actually let me pick the songs that I sang,
and it depend on if they could clear them a

(17:44):
but I got to sing Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick
Road and Magic Pilot. You know that song, oh oh
oh oh Zampink that's not that fall anyways, So I

(18:05):
got to do that one. I think That was my
favorite one that I did too, because it's a very
high tenor voice and I love belting it out up
in that register and and I love watching that. It's great.
I think they made the tiki face kinda after my face.

(18:27):
I don't know, it's like a very uh snotty rock
and roll kind of face.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
I thought it was so cool.

Speaker 5 (18:35):
Yeah, it was fun.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
It was great.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
You know.

Speaker 7 (18:38):
I wanted to do Don't Stop Believing by Journey, and
I really wanted to do the Final Countdown by Europe,
but we couldn't.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
Clear those songs believing. Hey Europe, Hey, Hey, hey Europe,
why wouldn't you play the song man come up?

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (18:57):
I know that's that's such a bummer. But I mean,
you great obviously, and you know, it was what a
fun experience. And then okay, so are you if you're
in did you come to Nashville all ever? Because we'll
just we'll come to one of your shows.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
It'd be so haun I come on tour in Nashville.
We're doing the Louder than Life Festival, which is Louisville,
Kentucky with you know, all these bands with logos that
look like trees, tree bridges, I love it and I

(19:31):
can't read. Let's like it looks like a twig on
a tree, like a morphosis of the soul of something
so good.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Well you are I just I love your energy. I mean,
you're just your your rock star. So thank you for
for coming on.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
And thank you guys.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Excited to hear all your stuff too.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
Right on, guys, all right, see you at the Castle
in Edinburgh. Maybe all right, we'll have some blood pudding.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Y'all can have it.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
There you go, we can have it, all right. Thank
you guys. Nice to you.
