the forgiving us, the Washington Commanders an incredible schedule yesterday.

It looks as though the National Football League has forsaken
the past and the failures of the past, and now
now things look up. So thank you for the schedule,

out there were going to be playing the Dolphins in
Spain in November. But yeah, it's it's well, now there's pressure.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I was talking to some colleagues. I'm like, let's go
to Spain. We can get to you.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
I think some colleagues are going to go to Spain.
I'm not kidding.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I have a feeling some well be it's uh, this
is if there was a year for the commanders to
put up, it's this year with that schedule. Because wow,
I'm sure there'll be more about that coming up through
the day. But that's the reason to feel good this morning, Chili,
you got anything to feel good before five? About this morning?

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Well, I'm going to Uva this weekend for my niece's
college graduation and we're going up and back for the day.
And the forecast looks like it's going to be decent
driving weather to Charlottesville because I'm not a fan of
going longer distance when it's raining because you know, inevitably
it's gonna muck up things. So I did a little
peak at the forecast and it looks like it's gonna

(01:59):
be decent, which I'm I'm glad for the kids too.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, absolutely for them.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
What about for us here? Well, you ask me what
makes me well, that's a different story. You're right, I did.

The state of Maryland has had its bond rating reduced

Speaker 3 (05:31):
That's right between your ears, your morning mindset. And here's
the quote to get you into a better headspace.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
From Tony Robbins who says, the only thing that's keeping
you from getting what you want is the story you
keep telling yourself. The only thing that's keeping you from

what is Tony Robbins trying to say with this and
what is it that we should probably take from what

(05:57):
he says? Well, change your mindset, change your outcomes. It's
real simple. If your mind is set correctly, your outcomes
will change. But that's on you, So don't be afraid

calls from you giving the college or high school graduates
some advice.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
In Winchester, Priscilla, good morning, Good morning.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
Toby and Chilly. The amazing that I would sell a
graduating class is focus on what it is that you want.
Don't let any family or friends tell you or try
to convince you that is unrachable because if you say,
basically one hundred percent, focus on what it is that you.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Want, do everything that you.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
Can possibly do to try to obtain it, nothing is unrachable.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Well, thank you for the advice this morning, Priscilla, appreciate
you guys.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Have a great morning you too, Thank.

Speaker 6 (08:05):
Yes, good morning everyone.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
So yeah, my advice would be everyone tells you.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Life is short, so take that into account when you're
planning your financial situation.

Speaker 7 (08:18):
Even though you're young, you're not thinking about retirement now
the best time to start planning.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
So that way, in twenty years when you blink.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
And you're looking at can I retire in.

Speaker 7 (08:28):
Another at fifteen to twenty years, you'll actually have something
saved up.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yes, do not take for granted that that those bills
add up and the debt does too. Yes, thank you, thank.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
You for the advice for the class of twenty twenty five.
Hopefully they'll listen to it, because God knows, I didn't

President Trump's Middle East trip wraps up today in the UAE.
Earlier this week, the State Department announced a proposed sale
of over a billion dollars worth of helicopters and f
sixteen fighter jets to the UAE. Yesterday, the President signed
agreements with KUTE that he said would generate an economic
exchange worth at least one point two trillion dollars. The

(09:33):
FAA has confirmed that a hotline between Reagan National Airport
and the Pentagon has been broken since twenty twenty two.
The FAA learned of that problem while investigating the January
twenty ninth mid air collision, and now once the hotline fixed,
before resuming army helicopter flights near the airport. A new
report finds that new teachers in Fairfax County are really

(09:54):
struggling to afford housing near their schools, as home prices
have surged thirty seven percent and rents forty one percent
since twenty nineteen, while starting teacher salaries have only risen
sixteen percent, and this growing gap forces a lot of
educators to live further away, leading to longer commutes and
less engagement with their school communities. Well, Maryland just lost

(10:16):
its top tier triple A bond rating from Moody's for
the first time since nineteen seventy three. They've now been
downgraded to double A one. Moody's pointed to the state's
economic underperformance and also heavy reliance on federal jobs and funding.
And US drug overdose deaths fell by thirty thousand last year.

(10:38):
That is the largest drop ever according to the CDC
Expert Site. Factors like wider access to overdose reversing drugs,
more addiction treatment, and also changing drug use patterns. Forecast
today cloudy skies, highs in the upper seventies right now,
sixty four in Fair Oaks.

Speaker 2 (10:57):

advice for the grads from this class of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
Go ahead, don't be afraid of failure. And everybody fails,
you just have to keep trying. The other thing is,
don't be afraid of change. Change is good and if
you don't change, your stagnate. You have to be willing
to go with the flow.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (12:00):
Answer, it's okay.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
You know you might fail, you might not, but you
can't be afraid of it.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Do you have a graduate in your life or did
you have one that you gave that advice to.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Yeah, my grandson who is now twenty seven. He just
turned twenty seven and he's doing fantastic. He is not
afraid to make changes and do different things and he's
on a great path.

Speaker 2 (12:19):

for the graduates from the class of twenty twenty five

Speaker 3 (12:40):
This basic kitchen skill is googled every single day, even
my people who already know it. What is it?

Speaker 2 (13:30):
In case you missed it, here comes the question again.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
This basic kitchen skill related to cooking is googled every

is it?

So you've got the question, what is your guest this morning?
How to boil an egg?

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Is that something that you google?

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Absolutely you do.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Why do you google it? You don't know. You just
drop the egg into some water and you boil it.
And I don't even eat eggs, and I know that.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Yeah, but I think no, it's knowing how to get
the perfect heart boiled texture. And the answer to that
from doing it literally once a week is nine minutes
from boil. So after nine minutes it's the perfect egg.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Okay, that's good to know. I haven't boiled eggs in
a minute.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
But that was my guest.

Speaker 2 (14:37):

Speaker 3 (15:32):
President Trump wants Cutter to help with Iranian diplomacy. He
said he wants to quote make a deal to end
Iran's nuclear program. Hell Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior told
Congress yesterday that no one should take medical advice from him.
When asked if he would vaccinate his kids for measles,
he said probably, but added his vaccine opinions are irrelevant

(15:55):
and not to be followed. A judge has ordered a
Georgetown University research accused of spreading Hamas propaganda to be
released after months in ice detention. Badar Khansuri is an
Indian national in the US on a student visa. A
critical hotline between the Pentagon and air traffic controllers at
Reagan National Airport has reportedly been down since March of

Etiquettoti quicktique. Can I say etiquette question for you this morning? Well,
I can't even say that word. Etiquette question for you
this morning. If somebody tells you not to bring something
to a party, do you actually listen to them? Yes?

Speaker 5 (17:29):
Or no?

Speaker 2 (17:30):
What's the right thing to do there? Eight sixty six
nine two seven forty three sixty one. When somebody tells
you not to bring anything to a party, do you listen?
What do you do? Give us a call eight sixtis

nine two seven forty three sixty one. And you know,
if you're signed into your iHeart app, you can send
us a voice note with talkback. This is an interesting

(18:12):
question for many different reasons, because we've both been in
interesting situations where this has been mentioned to us, and
I know that you have something coming up.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Yeah, in two weeks, my sister is hosting a tea
party and in a group chat two days ago, she said,
please don't bring anything, just yourselves.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
So what do you do?

Speaker 3 (18:31):
I am going to for the first time, listen to
her request and just show up myself. I know it's awkward,
but hey, if I take something that doesn't match the menu,
it ain't gonna end up on the table anyway.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
See, I'd bring it back in the day, I'd take
my bott latitos or something with me, just so that
I knew I had something, you know what I mean? Yes,
that makes sense, but maybe that's just us Patrick, Good morning,
and thanks for listening. In Dumfries. What do you say
about this When it comes to a party and they
tell you not to bring something, do you listen or no?

Speaker 4 (19:03):
I bring something I like?

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Cause a lot of times I get there and I'm like,
there's nothing I really like, and man, at least I
have something to that want. And that's why I think
you need to take some your own food with your
chili by the way, Thank you their Patrick.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Also, if you have dietary restrictions, you got to make
sure that you have what you need at a party.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
Chris, what say you in silver spring?

Speaker 3 (19:22):
Oh, don't bring it into yourself?

Speaker 1 (19:23):
You hear that a lot.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
I'll bring maybe a bottle of wine or I don't know,
some ice or something something super small.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Oh, Chris, I see where you're coming from. But that
bottle of wine thing? Lord, who else has a whole
basement full of wine from all these people bringing it over?

Speaker 2 (19:37):
Yes, and boxes out in the garage. I don't even
know if I've stored them right. Certainly not climate controlled.
Do you know why? Because they' nobody gonna get those
bottles of wine and drink upon them. You're just gonna
end up giving them away as gifts at the holidays today.
You know that's repurposing and there's nothing wrong with that.

(19:59):
Thank you for calling. So what do you have to say?
Feel free to tap that talk back microphone and send
us a voice note. We always love hearing from you.
Here Toby and Chilly in the Morning with ninety seven
point one Wash FM, We're coming up another one of
your crazy first date stories.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Tony in Silver Spring. His date ended up in a
bar brawl and escaping from the cops.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
What yeah, wait till you hear this, don't go anywhere.
It's next.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
It's Toby and Chilli's crazy first date.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
In Silver Spring. Good morning, Tony, tell us your story.

Speaker 6 (20:31):
I went out over a girl that I met at
a swimming pool, went into the bar that somebody else
that's him, and the bartender jumps over the bar backled
me against the wall. Another guy grabbed me by the
legs and pulled me down the stairs. Both of them
came down and we fought for maybe five minutes. The
police came. He got me into a headlock. I did

(20:53):
a windmill got away from the police.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Tony, so many questions. Let's go back for a second.
When you got to the bar, somebody said that's him
and lunged at you. Was that mistaken identity? Or what
had you done for them to want to fight you?

Speaker 6 (21:11):
The week before? I was there and got into a
fight the previous week. I'm xbox or so I loved
the street fight.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Okay, but it's probably not a good thing to try
to impress somebody on a first date. To continually get
into fights.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Where is your date? I mean, she must be horrified, right,
she was.

Speaker 6 (21:29):
Behind me somewhere. I never saw her. She told me
later what happened.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
And she agreed to go out with you again after that.

Speaker 6 (21:35):
Yeah, we dated for four years.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Good grief.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
So she was a fan of your street fighting then, obviously,
isn't it true this is the last time you got
into a street fight? No, that wasn't the last time.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Wow, okay, was any of the reason that you broke
up because you kept getting into fights?

Speaker 4 (21:56):
No?

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Well, that is indeed a crazy first date story from
getting into multiple fights at a bar and escaping from the.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Police, you know with that windmill move.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Because you shared that crazy first date story with us,

Speaker 1 (22:27):
To the show.

Speaker 2 (22:28):

a little bit of a street fighting ruckus.

the order, but the scope with which lower courts can
issue nationwide injunctions. President Trump says there's new economic cooperation
