Welcome to a brand new day.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
In case you were wondering, it's Wednesday, just because I
know people are all screwed up with the days and
the week and whatnot.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
But you know, I'm feeling.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Good today, Chili because and this is this is actually
incidental to something that just happened off the air. You
know how you were kind of stretching your neck a
little bit. Yeah, I am going to before the end
of the day make a date with my massuse. Oh
very nice, Yes, because I need to have like some
sort of lymphatic massage sort of a thing going on. Nice. Well,
(00:42):
maybe I'll ask her if she can come in here
and just you know, give us some chair massages.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
No, no, no, I would not want that during the show,
because I will be asleep.
Speaker 5 (00:52):
Well after the show, okay, well like right around you
know nine, Like we'll just act like we're working, but
we'll just keep the or shut and we'll just be like, okay, yeah,
we're in here.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Please leave us be. That would be good and that
would bring us both some joy. So I'm thinking a
massage might be helpful this morning. Why are you feeling good?
Speaker 4 (01:12):
I forgot what I was going to say. Honestly, now
that we're talking about massages, I honestly can't remember what
I was going to tell you. Well, so I'm feeling
good because I guess I'm here today. Well present, I swear,
I'm like I had something present.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
It's gone present. I had to do with Donado.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
No, I don't think it did.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
I had to do it don No.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
Oh, I just remembered. Okay, I ordered some organizational drawers
for my bathroom countertop. And I know that seems silly
to bring up, but here's why. You know how stereotypically
women take over like the entire counter in the bathroom. Yes, yes,
well it's gotten so bad my poor husband. So I
bought these things that I hopefully will be able to
(01:54):
organize my face creams and whatever little makeup I've got.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
If that works, can you send me the link on
Amazon so I can do that for my daughter Kyla,
who's taken control of the bathroom since she's been home.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
Yeah, I will if it works out.
Speaker 2 (02:09):

nine two, seven, forty three sixty one. If you want
to jump in little pop quiz this morning, you're waking
up with Toby and Chilly in the Morning at ninety
seven point one WASHFM. What is something that they do,
they being your significant other? What is something that they
do that they think turns you on but it actually doesn't?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Chilli.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
I bring this up because I was thinking back to
the days when I used to go out a lot.
There would be women that I might be just flirting
with at the bar and they would go in and
they would just say, grab my buttocks. Hmmm, And I
was not a fan of that. When you grabb my
up butttoks, it did not turn me on. It made
me think to myself, I don't have no butt docks
(07:04):
for you to be grabbing, how about you.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Thankfully, my husband doesn't do anything to turn me off
thinking he's turning me on. But a previous relationship a
person who just didn't know how to effectively bite the lip,
it would be very painful. I'm like, nope, you know what,
Stop doing that. That is not okay.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
That's not my orogenous zone. You're hurting me.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
That is not okay.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
No, I need my mouth to talk for a living.
Leave it around.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Don't bite her lip, Melanie, good morning in Silver Spring.
Thanks for waking up early with us. So it's something
that they do that they think turns you on, but
you actually can't stand.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
My boyfriend sings love songs to me.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
He thinks she has a great voice, but it really
just it kills the moon.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
Oh that's too bad.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
You really thought you loved that.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
He's trying to serenade you and whatnot. She's thinking, just
leave it to the professionals. Put on a good soundtrack.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Okay, Claire, good morning, Thanks for listening in Fairfax. What's
something that they do that they think turns you on
but you really don't like.
Speaker 7 (08:05):
The thing that a guy does that that I kind
of feel like should turn me on but actually doesn't
is when they open the car door for me.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
But he's trying to be a gentleman.
Speaker 7 (08:15):
It has nothing to do with me feeling like, you know,
chivalry is dead or anything like that. It's just I
feel weird sitting in there waiting for them to come
around to the car just to open the door for me.
Speaker 6 (08:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
I mean, especially with the days of key fobs right right,
you don't have to unlock anything.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
So what's something that they do that they think turns
you on but you actually don't like?
Speaker 3 (08:38):
You're not a fan? What is it?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Eight six six nine two seven three sixty one Tap

Speaker 3 (10:42):
We're going to talk about seagulls.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Perhaps maybe you were out at the beach, maybe you
were at rehoveth over the weekend Ocean City, and you
notice these seagulls and how they can be. They love
to harass beach goers when they're in groups, but when
they're alone they're not so brave. Wait till you hear
about our experiences with seagulls. We'll get to that coming
(11:05):
up in a few minutes, and if you want to
jump in, you know where to find us. Six nineteen
at ninety seven point one watch FM Toby and Chilly
in the morning.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
If you were over at the beach.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Or the shore or over there near like Ocean City
over the holiday weekend, you probably encounter to some of
these these seagulls.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Yeah there, what do you call them?
Speaker 3 (11:29):
The vermin of seagulls or the vermin of the skies?
They really are. They are.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
They're they're brave in numbers, and they always come in numbers.
You never see really just one. If you do, it's
not a problem. You're just flying around. But you know,
these seagulls, when there's like a group of them, a
flock of them as it were, that's when things get bad.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Yeah, they're very brave. They will come right you know.
Anyone who's experienced an encounter with a seagull knows that
they will come right up to your personal space and
grab your food, no problem. They'll do it in a heartbeat,
sometimes right out of your hand, which has happened to
me more than one.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Really grab the food out of your hand.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Yes they have. And I'm not like trying to feed them.
They grab me. I'm just kind of sitting there talking
with my head turned the other way with the last
kind of bite of sandwich, and lo and behold they
swoop in and they take it out of my hand.
It is jarring. And I'm telling you right now, this
makes me not want to even have snacks at the beach.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
I swat at them.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
But you know, I used to have lunch at a
sonic when I lived in Tampa, Florida, and myself and
a couple of coworkers would go and we would we
would take for granted that the seagulls were the vermin
of the skies and they would eat anything, so we
would throw like tater.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
Tots, so you would intentionally feed them.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Yeah, we would intentionally feed them. So we would like, oh,
so they stood just as swarm. We would just do
it just seem short. And then one of our coworkers
got the idea that we could throw tater tuts in
the back of a truck's flatbed, you know, like a
pickup truck sort of thing. Throw it in the bed
at the truck, or throw a few in the bed
of the truck and then all the seagulls would go
(13:18):
in there and they did. Oh, it was hours of
endless entertainment. Taunting the vermin of the sky.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
Is haunting them. You're giving them dinner. They loved you guys.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Well that's true too, now that now that I know
what the research says. When when they're in numbers, when
they're a flock of seagulls, they're far braver than they
are on their own. Yes, oh, these seagulls, if you
have any problems with them, you need to tell us
all about those problems. You know where to find us,
(13:48):
right right, We're Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's
ninety seven point one watch FM, and now it's time Toby.

President Trump says Canada could be protected by his Golden

Still being Chilli in the morning on ninety seven point
one watch FM on your iHeart app. You've got to
be signed in to tap speak and send us a
quick voice note. We'd love hearing from you. Coming up next,
(18:27):
we're going to talk about something that's kind of tough
for a parent, overcovering their kids separation anxiety. Now, Chili,
you and your husband are trying to go through some
of this with your son.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
We are the training has begun.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
This training has begun.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
If anybody has any thoughts on how to make separation
anxiety easier, feel free to reach out. In the meantime,
stay there, let's hear what's going on over with Chili
and her husband and their son in just minutes. Eight
sixty six nine seven forty three sixty one. That's the number,
tellby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point
one Wacham.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Parenting. Sometimes it's not easy.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Sometimes you wish it came with a manual, but there
are times when it doesn't. Like I take it Chilly
when we talk about what's happening with you and your
husband and your son's separation anxiety, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
It's pretty severe. So he's eleven years old, and my
husband and I have never taken a trip just the
two of us away from our son. And part of
that is us a you know, decision we made. But
we've getting to the point now we're like, look, he's eleven,
We've got family in town that's more than willing to
take him for a night or two so we can
escape to New York City. And we decided to give
it a trial run a couple of weeks ago, and
(19:42):
lord it, it almost did not work out. What happened,
So my sister lives nearby, and he was initially really
excited about spending the night at his auntie's house, but
about two hours after he got there, and he realized
we weren't going to come pick him up, and we're
going to lead there for just one night. The phone
(20:02):
call started, you know, using my sister's phone to call us.
Then the video calls and my sister was texting us like,
he's very upset. He's crying. I'm okay with it if
you guys are okay with it. So we get to
about nine ten o'clock at night, Toby, and he calls
us just sobbing, Please come pick me up, Please come
pick me up. We stood our ground and he did
(20:25):
get through the night. His biggest fear was he wasn't
going to be able to sleep or whatever, but he did.
He got through it, and it built a little bit
of confidence that he can do this. Now it's just
a matter of us doing it more times so that
we can actually escape. So, you know what I'm saying,
so that we can actually do it.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
The term is rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
Yeah, this is not a scenario I ever imagined before
we had kids, because I loved spending the night with
friends and family, And you know what I'm saying, Like,
I can't relate to my son's separation anxiety at.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
All, Right, well, I mean, you know, hey, first it's
the tablet, then it's the phone calls. Who knows what's
next to get your attention. But here's the thing. You
and your husband held the line, yes, because if you
would have given in and you would have run and
you would have like picked him up, you would have,
i think, subconsciously told him that, hey, I can act
(21:23):
this way and my mom and dad will come running
like the cavalry to save me.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
That's exactly right. So I'm proud of us, and I'm
proud of him. And now it's just a matter of
booking a trip and hopefully by the end of this
year we can maybe go a way to New York City,
just the two of us.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
And you've got a goal in mind too. Well, hopefully
he doesn't hear about that goal this morning, because you're
gonna be rinsing and repeating the spending the night at
the auntie's house and other houses too. Eight sixty six,
nineteen seven forty three sixty one. If you've got some
thoughts for Chili trying to get through this separation anxiety
with her son, feel free to reach out or tap
(21:59):
that talk back microphone. We always love to hear what
it is that you have to add to the conversations
we have here at ninety seven point one WASHFM with
Toby and Chilly in the Morning coming up next. When
was the time that you didn't get the reaction you
were expecting? You went above and beyond for somebody and
you thought maybe, maybe, just maybe they would be a
(22:20):
certain way about it, and then they weren't. You were like, hmmm,
this's ever happened. Well, we're going to talk about it next.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Stay with us.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
I want to get your take on this. Eight six, six,
nine two, seven forty three sixty one. It's ninety seven
point one wash FM, Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
When was the time you did not get the reaction
you expected after you went above and beyond for someone.
And there's a woman who made a cake.
Speaker 4 (22:43):
A six tier birthday cake for family member. It was
a for twins teenagers, and instead of saying thank you,
oh my god, they said, oh, next time, can you
maybe not use buttercream?
Speaker 5 (22:56):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
And she went on Reddit and of course complained about
the experience because that is not the reaction she was
hoping for nor expecting.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Right, she was looking for the oh this was so great.
Thank you for taking the time, because she spent a
lot of time on the cakey hours twenty hours. Yes,
I mean, you know you kind of want a little
pat on the back for that. You want to be
recognized for something you did good.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
When you go above and beyond for somebody, a part
of you does it not for the reaction, right, because
you genuinely want to do something nice for someone. It's
when they get critical about it. I think that it
makes it not good.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Right when you fill and you when you cover something
for somebody, or you do something for someone else, right,
and nobody says thank you for it?
Speaker 3 (23:42):
That can be a problem.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
Should we just say welcome to parenting, I mean, isn't
that right?
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Welcome to parenting, Welcome to the world of work, I mean,
welcome to really anything, because there are times you're not
going to hear, hey, great job, but sometimes you want
to hear great.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Job, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
And then you don't hear great job, and you end
