Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Toby and Hilly's Crazy first.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Date, Leslie and Herndon with a crazy first date for us.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
What happened well, I worked with two girls whose husbands
knew this gentleman, and they introduced me to him on
a blind date. He lived in Connecticut, we lived in
New Jersey, so he came down and we spent the evening,
you know, having dinner, going out for drinks, and listening
to music and we had a great time. Came back
to the house and he was going to stay at

(00:27):
this one couple's house and I went home. However, he
really didn't want to stay overnight, so he ended up
driving back to Connecticut, and on his way back, he
fell asleep in his car and he hit a car
parked on the inside, like on the fast lane, and
he wasn't hurt, but he got put in jail. Now

(00:48):
I did not know any of this. On Monday, when
I went back to work, they all told me what
had happened.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
When this guy gets in trouble and thrown in jail,
he doesn't like call you to like get him. He
doesn't try to reach back out to you in any way.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
No, not till like maybe a week later.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Did you guys ever end up seeing each other again?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Actually we did. He invited me to a dinner in
New York City at the Waldorf Historia and we got
along great.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Well, it's a good thing you didn't have to drive
to come get you. You could just use the subway.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Were you guys together for a while after that?

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Or did things sort of fizzle out over time?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
We stayed together? You know, it was hard because he
lived in Connecticut and I lived in New Jersey, so
we had to go back and forth.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
And what's happened between the two of you since we.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Did get married and we've been married forty six years.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Wow, And let's hope that he learned a very valuable
lesson from that date. Do not, under any circumstances drive
unless you've gotten a full night's sleep.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Exactly.
