Toby and Philly is crazy Firsday.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
So I had moved to North Carolina, the Durham area,
and I was trying to meet somebody. So I went
on one of those online dating things apps and I
talked to this guy who said, Hey, let's meet at a bar.
So I said all right, and I met him at
the bar and we were chatting there and I think
it was loud, he couldn't really hear me. So he
(00:23):
recommended we leave and go to another bar, and since
I was kind of new, I said i'd follow him.
So we get on some back roads in North Carolina
and he pulled off the main highway down a dirt
road and I stopped behind him and he walks up
to my window and I roll it down and he's like,
I'm lost. I think I need to go back. And
(00:45):
I was like, okay, just you know, turn around and
I'll follow you. And he got back in his car
and I followed him out, and I was like, oh
my god, he could have killed me, Like I just
couldn't believe I had gone down this back road and
he seemed to be a nice guy. We went to
the other place, but I was like, yeah, I'm not
talking to him again. That was just too weird to me.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
But maybe he genuinely got lost.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah, I was this in the age before you had
back quest, Stephen.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
I didn't even have a cell phone at the time.
Your parents kind of tell you to make sure you're
safe and stuff, and I just couldn't believe I did
something so stupid.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Well, this is a good thing. It's a lesson in
how to make sure you date the right guy, to
drive yourself on first dates where you're feeling a bit
sketched out by something. And three, because it's a really
great story.
