thanks for being here. Man,it's waiting by the phone. As
you know, we're trying to figureout why you may have been ghosted.
So tell us about this woman,Lydia, How did you meet? Tell
us about any dates that you've beenon, and then where things are now.
Yeah, so we met on Hingeand we've had the one date,

(00:28):
no more after that. I meanwe had one dinner date. I thought
it was amazing. I thought itwent really well. But I texted to
make sure she got home and shenever answered me. And she hadn't texted
me since I don't think she gothome yet. How long it was this
date? And I hope she gothome. I'm gonna go ahead and go
out in the limit say she gothome. But something must have happened on

(00:50):
this date. You look back, though, and you really think it was
amazing, Like you don't think therewas any no weird hiccups, nothing like
you honestly think that this was anamazing date. And you were to hear
from this woman again. They're talkingthe whole time. We were we were
laughing, you know, she waslaughing at me, and I thought she
was funny. It really just feltlike a good date to me. Yeah,
good communication, all of that. All right, Well, that's a

(01:12):
shame, and it's annoying because nobodywants to find someone they like and then
they don't like them back, andit's kind of rude not to maybe give
someone some form of at least hey, I got home, but I'm not
ever gonna call you again ever inmy whole life or something. I mean,
you could say something like that, couldn't you, Kiki, That's the
least she could do. Yeah, you know, yeah, I mean,
probably nicer way to say it thanthat, but yeah, I mean maybe

(01:32):
not. So let's call this womanLydia. You'll be on the phone,
Brock. We'll ask some questions. We'll see if we can figure out what's
going on. You welcome jump inat some point, and hopefully there's a
misunderstanding here something when on Maybe shehas AT and T. That's what it
is. Oh, she had ATand T. He phoon sat working and
then now it works again. SoI'm sure she was just meaning to get
around and calling you. And we'reabout to find out here in just a

(01:53):
second. So hang on, Brock, Let's see what happens next two minutes
away. Stay right here. AfterMoley's Cyrus, we'll do part two A
Waiting at the phone on the FredShow. Miley Cyrus, Good morning,
the Fred Show. Is that It'sFriday. Were on the radio and the
iHeart app as well. Anytime searchput a Fred show on demand. Hey
Brock, all right, welcome back. Let's call Lydia. You guys met
on the dating app Hinge and youwent on a dinner date that you thought

(02:15):
went really well. In fact,I believe Leievi he used the word amazing.
I think you said it was amazing. You know, the conversation was
good, and the jokes were flowingand everybody was having a good time.
There was chemistry. The problem isthat you've reached out to her since the
date. Actually she never even youasked her to say to let you know
when she got home. She didn'tdo that, and then you haven't been
able to get ahold of her sinceand you want to know what's going on.

(02:36):
Yeah that's true. All right, let's call her now, good luck
Brock. Hello, Hi is isLydia? Yeah? Hi? Lydia.
Good morning. My name is Fred. I'm calling from the Fred Show,
the Morning radio show, and Ihave to tell you that we are on
the radio right now and I wouldneed your permission to continue with the call.
Could which have for just a second, do you mind? Okay?

(03:00):
Sure, Thank you very much.I know it's kind of strange. Maybe
you've heard this before maybe now,but it's called waiting by the phone,
and we're trying to figure out forthis guy named Brock why you haven't responded
to him at all. He calledus and said that he met you and
and he thought that you guys wenton a great date. But he says
he hasn't heard from you. Infact, you didn't even tell him that
you got home that night. Sowe're trying to help him out. I

(03:21):
mean, what happened? Why areyou not reaching out to him at all
or responding to him? Yeah. No, it was a good date,
Like dinner was good. I thoughthe was a nice guy. I felt
like we had a good time andlike a decent connection. But something happened
that just kind of like made mefeel a little weird. We ran into
one of his friends, which wasnice, but it was a girl and

(03:46):
she walked it to the table andshe said hi, and then he got
up and he hugged her, andthat was fine, But then they kissed
on the list. Okay, soyou're sitting there and this woman comes over
all, hey, brock, howyou doing? You know whatever? And
then he gets up and he hugsyou. That's one thing, But then
a kiss on the lips, likelike a romantic looking kiss or like a
peck or I mean, what sortof how would you describe it? I

(04:10):
don't know, Like they looked verycomfortable, so I guess I'd have to
imagine that. It seems like theykiss on the lips every time they greet
each other, or they've done itbefore. And I just kind of thought
like that was disrespectful, like we'reon a date, it's the first date.
I just I don't know. Ithink it's just super weird. But
their tongue, I didn't see anytongue. Where were the hands? Were

(04:32):
the hands moving or were the handsin a good location? Like what was
going on with the hands? Thisquestion? No, I think so too,
thank you? Where were the hands? Honestly, I don't like one
hundred percent remember, but I don'tremember being like bothered by them. So
I guess it wasn't anywhere disrespectful. But I just thought the fact that he
like stood up and kissed somebody infront of me, it was like,
really, that is interesting. I'vegot to mention that Rock is here.

(04:55):
I'm very forgetful and I was reallysort of enveloped in this story, but
Rock is here. Rock, Howdo you explain the hug and the kiss
on the lips with another woman whenyou're on a first date with somebody else.
Yeah, No, that's seriously,is like nothing to worry about because
we're best friend. She's basically likemy sister. Oh so that's not want

(05:19):
to say. Yeah, I don'tknow about hugging and kiss for your on
the lips to your sister. Idon't kiss my soil. It was just
very comfortable with each other, likeI kiss my family members, you know,
like that's not something weird. Idon't think in the mouth form that's
the thing in the mouth, allright. I mean I've seen this happen.

(05:39):
I've been out to a dinner andI've seen someone that what they were
friends, colleagues or whatever, theyget up they kiss each other in the
mouth. I've seen it happen.I just had to play it cool,
like I was a little taken aback, but I just had to sit there
like, Okay, I agree witheach other, So I can't say that
I've never seen this happen, butI would not be comfortable with it if
I'm dating somebody that's has that relationshipwith a kiss on the lips, Lady,

(06:01):
your friend, your best friend, has that ever gone to more than
that before? Like? Are youthat comfortable because you've done other things?
I have to ask. I'm ajournalist. It's my responsibility to ask these
questions. No. No, we'vebeen friends since high school and we've always
just been very comfortable with each other. But we've never had any you know,

(06:25):
we both agree that we never dosomething like that. No, you
don't want them. I do know, Like culturally, you know, there
are some instances where people are,you know, more affectionate with one another
than others. I don't want togeneralize what that is, but in my
experience, I guess there are peoplewho a normal greeting would be like a
kiss on the cheek or that wholekiss on each cheek thing, a very

(06:47):
European. Anythink Brock is being cultural. Well, I don't know, But
what I'm trying to be is openminded here. I mean, he doesn't
want to be with this other woman. He says he hasn't slept with her.
He says that they're best friends.Think it strange if I'm on a
date with someone and I'm trying tomake an impression I am not kissing another
woman on the lips on that date. I mean, Lydia, what do
you think? This guy says,it's just sort of standard operating procedure for

(07:10):
that, for that relationship, forthat friendship. Yeah, I mean,
I'm just kind of like dumbfounded tobe honest with you, Like that's just
not how I handle any of myfriendships. Or like I would never as
you say, that's your sister,Like I would never kiss my brother like
that, Like that's super weird. So I feel like we're just not really.
Yeah, I think if I wereon a date with a woman and
she got up and gave this guya big hug and then kissed him on

(07:33):
the lips, and I'd be sittingthere like what am I? What do
I do now? You know, especially that's his best friend. You don't
even introduce it, like hey, this is my best friend. Whatever to
your date, Like, yeah,I mean, weird here she is kind
of wondering what that was all abouttoo. It is a little atypical,
I would say, but we're allclose in this room, but we're not

(07:53):
like mouth kissing each other every morning, like for yourself. Sorry, well
Jason only kissed me on the mouth, or at least you've tried to,
I mean every day, but it'snot each day. I mean, I
turn the cheek. It's fine, you know. And Paulina same way.
It's like, come on, you'rea married woman and I know we're friends.
Like, all right, this iscrazy. No, I agree with
you. Like I I'm not abig lip kisser anyway, unless it's romantic,

(08:16):
but I know some people are,but that's reserved for like your mother
and your grandmother kind of thing.Even then, I don't know. But
all right Lydia, would you consideranother opportunity for this guy? Would you
get Brock another chance? I mean, he explained it the way he explained
it. Either you buy it oryou don't. But I mean you said
you liked him up until that point. So how about another date that we

(08:37):
pay for? Yeah, I justI don't think so, that's just not
how I would do things. Ijust don't think we're going to be a
match. Okay, all right,Brock, look yeah, no, I
just that was not anything. Therewas no romantic thing there, So you

(08:58):
have literally nothing to worry about,Like you just don't find it weird.
Like you kiss your best friend onthe lips, that's not weird to you,
Brock, No, because we doit all the all the time.
That's just normal. Was there anykind of tingle when you kiss her,
like any kind of you know, any sort of No. No, it's
just the way that we greet eachother. That's just a normal thing.

(09:18):
Okay, all right, well heylook then you guys keep doing that and
let me know when the wedding isand I'll send you a gift. But
I mean, hey, what's comfortablefor you is not for Lydia, So
it's not going to work out.Guys, thank you both for your time,
best of luck out there. Goodthank you
